thank you for sharing the font ask, its been really helpful. Can i ask one last question about how to colour them and make them stand out? I'm struggling with that on ps🖤

absolutely! so i try to keep the text similar in the same color palette on a banner, and if i find that it's not standing out enough from the background, i use either an outer glow (for darker text) or a drop shadow (for lighter text), i've included a couple examples below!! along with being able to change the text color, you can also change the color of the outer glow and drop shadow too, they don't always have to be white or black, but that is typically what i use!

example 1

for this banner, you can see that i used a darker grey/beige for the 'that is ours' text which is similar to the skin tone of tae (after my color editing). the 'the crown' text is white with a drop shadow to make it stand out from the text behind it, otherwise, it would look like this:

for this banner, i used colors that i found in the background for the text. there is an outer glow behind the farthest back 'wishes' and a drop shadow on the closest 'wishes', without either it would get lost in the busy background like so:

for this banner i used a drop shadow for the 'over' and 'hills' text, and then an outer glow for 'jeweled' and then also a drop shadow after adding the outer glow, this makes the white part of the glow stand out against the other white text, if i didn't do that it would look like this:

so basically, use drop shadows and outer glows and you'll get your titles to stand out more and be more noticeable :)

Of course!!

This song is one of the few that references a plot line as opposed to a character, and references a protest against the incredibly prejudiced government in this AU. For spoiler reasons I obviously can’t go into much detail but it’s mostly a peaceful protest, and causes the more ‘official’ government authorised superheroes (e.g Mumbo/Redstoner, Bigb/Poileas, Etho/Arctic Fox) to clash for the first time against the vigilantes (e.g Cleo/Zombie, Gem/Gemstone, Bdubs/Timelord).

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, hmmmmmmm, I have thoughts on this, but the most pressing is if Sandal would understand consent and be able to provide informed consent… the way Sandal is presented in DA… doesn’t fill me with hope.

GUYS GUYS WAIT I HAVE AN IDEA ??

So we know Lenore went kinda coocoo from Theo’s death from the tree, she was in a wheelchair, panic attacks all that stuff. Then Ms Gaslight Gatekeeper Girlboss shows up, they fall in love, Annabel leaves.

HERES THE GOOD STUFF

We know Lenore cut her hair and everything to become a man so she could stay with Annabel and marry her. SHE SET HER HOUSE ON FIRE WITH THE ETHER THE NURSES AND MAIDS WERE USING TO “CALM HER DOWN” OR BASICALLY KNOCK HER OUT OR DRUG HER.

I did my research for the lovely guy Edgar Allen Poe and his poem for Lenore, and figured out that Lenore, in the poem, had died from tuberculosis. What’s tuberculosis? A disease that affects your lungs, and that can only be transmitted through the air. I did more research and found the possible causes of tuberculosis, one is FIRE. The smoke can infect your lungs and you can develop tuberculosis. what did Lenore do? Set her house on FIRE.

But that’s not it.

What if Lenore’s specter is not base on her actual death, which could have possibly been from illness or being shot through the head on their wedding day (go ahead and ask me about that theory), but it is supposed to relate or be based around her metaphorical death. THE DEATH OF LENORE BEFORE MEETING ANNABEL AND THE REBIRTH OF HER AS LEO AND/OR LENORE THAT HAD A CAUSE AND WILL TO LIVE BECAUSE OF ANNABEL.

I see the shadow from the top left on Lenore’s face as the shadow of her past, the Lenore from before. Whom was dark and lonely and sad, all that. And the bottom right light as the light a new brightness of her new life. Her freedom.

AND

I think her specter will be related to the fire half. With a little more research, I found a Celtic/Gaelic goddess of fire by the name of Brighid, Hephaestus who’s also a god of fire, a dragon related specter due to the fire relation. But if we take the shot through the head-mental illness route, the Fay/fae of the British Isles or otherwise changlelings, whom are associated with mental disorders/illnesses, and due to Lenore taking up a new identity.

None of these are confirmed or true, this is just my headcannons and theories, please do not take them the wrong way. I love Nevermore and….most of the characters in it (cough cough Montressor) However if you do like these theories or have your own ideas or want to share, please do, send and ask or question and I’ll do my best to respond to them.

absolutely simping for your yandere raven guard boys, they honestly make me feel so much better after a rough day. 😭

i did want to ask on how they'd react to their dove having really bad social anxiety and trust issues? they've had bad experiences in the past so they keep their emotions well guarded, but get past the layers and they're really devoted and affectionate. or at least try to be affectionate.

like a little thing i imagine is Dove wanting to hold one of their hands, but is super nervous about it because, "wait, what if they hate affection? what if i come off as awkward or annoying?" just a bunch of what if's and all that. feel free to delete this ask if it's too much- at the end of it all i just want to let you know how much i appreciate the raven bois. <3

Its very funny given how I've made Dove to be an activist and to be outgoing. But I like the thought....

Of course once everything got going the boys would make sure Dove was always safe and know that they always were up for her affection... Sor even making it a point to be "overly" affectionate with her to let her know that her touches were wanted.

But I can imagine poor Dove seeing Sor actually relaxing for once and she wants to ask him something but wait... Sor usually rarely talks... always clipped short words or sentences making sure that whatever he said was only really important and when he did talk for awhile it was only to his brothers in high gothic. Practically ignoring that she was around... She is so caught up in her own head she doesn't see how his black eyes are watching her from his peripheral as he just watches her mentally crumble before slinking off.

Moremo was always open but Dove notices he's been so busy since her ex left... oh she would be only a bother... and then when she sees Kazi training with such a serious look on his face she feels before he can put on his normally sweet smile for her.

It's Sor that finds her in her dark little corner with her knees against her forehead as she is just hiding and lost in her own thoughts that she can't help but scream when she sniffles and lifts her head only to see Sor suddenly there.

"You're upset." He says softly.

"I'm just-"

"I can smell you... you've been a walking scent ball of anxiety. Made it easy to find you." He says as if it was obvious.

"Thank you?"

"No it's- never mind. Why are you anxious?"

Dove muttered how she just wanted to talk to him... maybe hold his hand because sure she's held Kazi's hand and Moremo's... she hasn't held his yet.

Sor let out a rare soft smile as she could feel his hand gently embrace hers, "You don't need to ask Dove. I might not... say as much as Kazi can fill the air... nor as well as Moremo can... but I can at least try."

Dove felt herself blush as she just leaned against his muscular arm and that's all she could ask for... was being told that she was allowed into their world even if it was just this tiny little sliver. That's all she could want.

DMC Questions Anon here!

Capcom has called to tell you they've put you in charge of the next DMC game. They left no instructions but one: the game focuses on Dante and Vergil after the events of DMC 5. How will you do the game? What will the plot be? How will you have their relationship progress throughout the game?

Funny thing is, my answer to this post is disagreement with this point on a fundamental level.

I have an extremely hard time imagining anything for DMC6, and one of the reasons is story. Capcom did a great thing when they actually acknowledged their series-founding character aging. Dante is not getting younger, physically it's not really a problem for him, but emotionally? This man should have gotten a mental retire like, after dmc4. I mean it. He shouldn't get sucked into another Sparda legacy drama, please no. Same for Vergil, man needs a gramophone, his bro to retire with, a library card and some freakin knitting needles or smth.

DMC1 started with the second lowest low the twins relationship had ever been at, DMC3 showed the divide of their relationship, DMC4 was the ghost of it and DMC5 had been the fallout of 20+ years of not-cooing-with-trauma. 5 ends with a perfect ending the twins were gifted by Hideaki Itsuno (bless the man), there is nowhere meaningful to take them.

(This is where I would have ranted about Mundus and how HE should be the main boss of the series, but he was sealed off and manga says twins could have defeated him even in their twenties and capcom did not freakin retcon that)

Alas, this would have been my answer if you haven't added the mandatory twins rule xD (to be fair, it does sound like a rule executives force on a new game, cause how would they ever let go of idols like Dante&Vergil? the bois sell better than hot cookies)

This is where I go in reverse mode, because I think the post is actually onto something. A new game about twins conquering different regions/levels of Hell and fighting cool Hell Lords the entire time. It would also be a good opportunity for some worldbuilding overhaul I keep ranting about in every single ask!

The only gameplay feature I can imagine for the game, the one that was MUCH requested and so close to properly implemented in 5 should ABSOLUTELY return - proper coop. Not sure if splitscreen would work optimisation-wise, but they should freakin try. RE engine turned out to be surprisingly adaptable and works insanely well in 5.

Character abilities wise - DMC5 is a goddamn masterpiece of slasher, I have absolutely no idea how to make it better. Dante alone requires you to study in Combo University for four years, and Vergil would freakin make you meditate in a cave without food or water for another four.

If the narrative could take a double plotlines structure and Nero would have his own adventures in the human world, it would be nice to give him more attention as well. And an opportunity for some new devil hunter characters (Master Summoner Patty) !

If DMC6 ever happens then Mundus HAS to be the endgame come on, that is (1) plotline DMC has hanging and it would be EPIC to make.

Twins-relationship wise I expect a Lot of banter. It would be awesome to have the second twin be AI piloted around the level with you.

As for bonding? Mixed feelings. Twins will have lots of time to learn to work together again, but I am not sure they can actually heal while in Hell. Hell trip is a constant run from and into violence, demon horders, hunting and being pursued in a maddening never-ending circle untill the twins are able to escape. This is not the best situation for healing, honest conversations, or supportive moments. Plus, the twins entire lives revolve around violence, I can only wish one day they can settle in a calm environment to learn to live without it too.

btw the last two sentences are like, the premise of Raven's @stashoflostsouls newest Take a trip or two awesome fic, definitely check it and her other works out if you liked the previous paragraph

So yeah, I believe the twins will progress a lot during their escapades, but the reforging of their brotherhood can only fully happen outside the violence they are regularly thrown into, and a retirement plot doesn't really sound like a good idea for a slasher game, does it.

as always, the rambles got the best of me.

tldr: Personally, I think the twins' story is done and they should be allowed to happily retire, but if the story continuing to revolve around them is the mandatory rule then my best guess is a cool slasher in Hell. Still, it wouldn't fully mend the twins relationship, even if the game would probably be very satisfying to play
