History leading up to the year 2005

250 Ma –‘Them’ arrive and influence life on Earth.

5 BCE - Martian history begins with the Firsts.

Late 1800s – “Aliens” on Mars make contact with major earth governments; this begins a period of unprecedented scientific advancement.

November 30th 1905 – The first version of the superintelligent AI known as ‘Hammond’ is created.

1911 – First man lands on the moon.

1915 - Lupe Altena is born.

1931 – The first instance of Martian Pneumoconiosis aka Adirondack Plague (ADP) is detected on Earth.

1937 – Lupe Altena and Hammond meet.

1943 – Carmine Keller is conscripted into the Wehrmacht at the age of 26. 5 months into his service, he is presumed KIA.

November 1945 – a comet known as Gabriel’s Arrow suddenly enters the solar system.

December 1945 – Gabriel appears in the sky on Earth. ‘Outbreaks’ of spontaneous human combustion and seemingly supernatural events occur worldwide for 6 days, and on the 7th day the Arrow leavesAround 40% of the human population at the time developed superpowers.

February 1947 – the Yellowstone Caldera shows sudden, unusual signs of imminent eruption. The event is easily swept under the rug due to the global outbreak of superpowers.

1951 – a group of superpowered humans affected by Gabriel’s Arrow form the United Heroes Coalition overseen by the US government; world nations, especially the UN, NATO, and the Warsaw Pact sign the Stockholm Concordat, an international agreement that regulates the activities of ‘altered individuals’ to be under supervision of the UN as well as the individual’s respected government.

1952 - 1956 – Civil war on Mars occurs. The lone king, ALDEBARAN, is overthrown and eaten by 5 of his sons.

1952 – the US government publicly establishes ABIS, a form of weather modification to assist in agriculture and to potentially use in armed conflict.

1953 – The World Stock Market collapses.

1954 – Martial Law is declared in the United States, and the US Constitution is suspended.

1957 – 1959 – Tension between Earth and Mars simmers, as it’s discovered that the Martians have been sending infiltrators to spy on earthlings for decades.

1960 – Richard Nixon wins the 1960 US presidential election. Martial Law in the US ends.

October 27th 1962 – Cuban Missile Crisis goes hot- Nixon launches airstrikes against the nuclear weapons stored in Cuba, leading to catastrophic loss of life. The USSR invades Berlin. NATO attempts to de-escalate the situation; the USSR resists all attempts at negotiation.

October 31st 1962 — Martial Law is reinstated in the US. Congress is suspended until further notice, and the military assumes control over the legislative and judicial branch.

November 30th 1962 – the USSR launches a nuclear retaliation strike against the US and Europe. The nukes detonate in the heartlands of the mainland decimating the agriculture industry. Millions die from the blasts, and nuclear detonations occur over the east coast and western Europe leading to blackouts of the electrical and ABIS grid. The continental crust is destabilized, and the Yellowstone Supervolcano finally experiences a limited eruption, breaking open the tectonic plate under the Midwestern states.

[Collapse of the ABIS grid as well as the deaths of those who operated it irrecoverably decimates the world’s weather system.]

LUPE ALTENA, with the assistance of the USSR superhero VERONIKA, stops the caldera from completely erupting through unknown means.

The US Urban Civil War period begins months later.

1967 - 198X - The European Resettlement Program is initiated and overseen by the Sinosphere. The European diaspora results in over 200 million refugees. Europe is abandoned.

197X – Lupe Altena founds the PROMETHEAN SOCIETY.

198X – A diplomatic Martian fleet appears above Earth, offering aid and scientific knowledge in exchange for diplomatic relations and earth’s resources. The emergence of the half-Martian half-human Chimera species follows. The US Urban Civil War period ends.

August 1990 – Francis Mueller hatches from her egg. This is also the year where Gabriel’s Arrow returns.

November 30?, 1991 – Desmond Arkady is born in the shattered remains of the American Midwest.

2005- current year

Case 2022M - Cat's Eye

[Subject: an encounter with a possible alien being, copied from a recording given [REDACTED] on-site.]

"I remember the way she walked threw me off first. It was strange, I definitely couldn't have told you exactly how. I know now of course. She was kind of ungainly. She came to the counter and ordered a flat white, decaff. I asked if she wanted soy and she laughed in my face. There was something strange in her eyes, too. Like they kept shaking or something. And her accent too, I assumed she had a blocked nose. It was like... I don't know. Chinese, maybe Russian. I'd never usually mix the two up, but that's what it was like.

She went to her table and sat to wait. She watched the passers-by outside, her sharp nails tapping impatiently. She was sitting uncomfortably too, like she was a coiled spring waiting to leap. There weren't many people out there. Usually the seagulls would steal your food, and most people felt a little intimidated by how loud they were. She still watched though, occasionally making small movements like she was going to stand up.

I brought her drink over, and she smiled at me. That was when I knew. Her smile was too wide... and too sharp. Much too sharp. Pointed canines and small incisors to give the other, jagged teeth room. Her eyes were locked on me, and they went huge as she saw me notice. She stuck her tongue out and lifted the drink to her lips. I hurried back behind the counter as she thanked me. It was shocking. I've never seen an... I don't know, an alien, or anything before.

She stayed there, and she kept looking. Her back shifted strangely, like there was something hidden under her coat. Her hat twitched. She stretched her hand out and left a row of scratches in the wood. You can look at them for yourself. She got up all of a sudden, and I realised she wasn't wearing shoes like I'd assumed. Her feet were furry and clawed. Something was happening outside and she took off running. A tail slid out from under her coat as she went. That's all I remember, I'm sorry."

[Recording ends. The other events of the day are detailed elsewhere - this encounter seems unrelated, other than how this stranger seemed to have been waiting for it. The identity thereof is as yet unknown - cross-references with formation assets has confirmed none that were misplaced or deployed. The witness has since left her job at [REDACTED], and has left contact details should she be needed again. My personal guess is that this "Alien" is [REDACTED]. The fact this species has gone unseen since said incident is cause for significant concern, should they still be present.]

Gonna be starting my Headcanon AHIT Lore dumps! Of course our first being Hat Kid herself!

Beware! This post has lots of reading! Bad storytelling (I’m bad at grammer and writing haha-,,,), and some mention of violence! Also please be aware that this is my headcanon backstory for Hat!! I’ve worked ALOT to make this lore for Hat and it even corresponds with my Bow backstory,,,

With that all out of the way, let’s go!

Name: Puella Tempus

Alias: Hat Kid

Species: Neliinae

Bio:

In a world of [Redacted] lived the humanoid aliens that are called “Neliinae” reigned over by a council of their own kind. Among these people, was one of the esteemed council members, Lillian Orania Tempus, and her husband, Callidus Tempus, who currently was the head of [Redacted]’s Engineering and Overall Science committee. Soon into their 2nd year of being married, they had their first and last child. A beautiful baby girl who they named “Puella”

Puella was expected to be as great as her parents were from an extremely young age, already receiving extensive tutoring at the age of 2. Around this time as well, Callidus was working on his newest project. The Timepiece. It’s unknown how he created it, but he states that he had created it after manifesting pure time energy into a safe to handle vessel. It was a plenty great energy source and his cohorts and the council congratulated his creation.

However Callidus wanted to experiment more on this new found item and time itself. Despite his Wife and close friend’s wishes, he’s mental health faltered as he began to do multiple tests and experiments on the time pieces and how they work on his daughter. One of these tests being injecting Time piece matter to see how it would infect Neliinae.

Thankfully, Puella wasn’t affected too bad by them other then the discovery that she couldn’t perish. Around this time as well, Callidus was given the task of creating a project the council labeled “The Sun Piece”. The Sun Piece was a project that would create a more stronger and affective time piece that could give their country energy for centuries. Which Cal took. However he did show multiple concerns on the powerful aura that it gave.

Then there was the Incident

On the day Callidus revealed the Sun Piece, he offered it to his close friend who was present at the time. Said friend seemed to suddenly get a seizure of some sort when it was handed to him. Resulting in the Sun piece falling to the floor and shattering on impact. From the remains of the hourglass emerged multitudes of large glowing arms and a large amount of toxic air that quickly spread throughout the building. Cal was unable to escape the room he was in while in a panic and perished due to the toxic air going inside his lungs

Meanwhile, the city was thrown into a panic and everyone was issued to go into government assigned escape ships which would be sent to a small moon a few light years away which a safe house would be present. Lillian brought her daughter to her own ship, running through corpses and abandoned shops. Since each ship was only big enough for one person, she sent her off and went to find her own. Unfortunately she wasn’t able to make it and was grabbed by one of arms and was snapped in half.

Puella, at the age of four, was in space for around 5 years and slowly forgot about her heritage and where she came from. The only thing she could visibly remember was that she was heading home. Or, she was going to go home, if it wasn’t for a certain strange man arriving at her ship-..

Peculiar City (Yogs AU), so far;

Peculiar City has the same vibe as Guardians of the Galaxy - there’s an immeasurable amount of unique alien species and cross-breeds, so pretty much everyone is a different alien.

It’s also inspired by Hotline Miami, so a lot of the loose story I have so far focuses on organised crime and underground drug rings.

The big thing about Peculiar City is that it dissects and directly opposes established dichotomies while keeping inherent character traits.

For instance, a selection of partners might stick together but in a subverted way, or they might only ever interact once in their lives. (Ex. Will Strife is still head of Strife Solutions, but doesn’t stick with Parvis)

There’s more weird stuff, but I’ll get into it below the cut.

Kirin Dave is the mayor of Peculiar City. They have an incredibly intimidating aura in private, but in public, they are formal, firm, but kind. The city loves them and races are only held if someone organizes a party and action to oppose them. No one ever does. Their special ability is electrokinesis and [redacted] ~for now~

Xephos is the city’s largest shareholder, and owns large portions of the district’s small businesses. He inherited his parent’s resource company upon their deaths, and is mostly a playboy archetype (very similar to Iron Man). His special ability is unknown, and he’s amphibious.

William Strife is one of the biggest wholesale dealer in the market. He processes the raw chemicals and materials that Xephos’ business provides, and markets them off to any willing buyers. Underground, however, he is also the largest cache and runway for the local and interstellar drug markets. His special ability is regeneration, and he’s somewhat jelly-like.

Rythian is the police chief in command, and ex-detective. He’s very old and wrinkly, with mostly grey hair and several mysterious scars sprawling across his body. He’s been through a lot and has taken to looking after some citizens and trying to guide them to the right path.

Wilford Warfstache:

Wilford is a shapeshifter, much like the rest of his species. Centuries ago, long before the formation of the GAAP, his planet was conquered and turned into a war camp. His species was essentially bred to be ruthless killers who would infiltrate enemy camps and wreak havoc. This plan, however, backfired, and his species took back control of their planet. Unfortunately, any moral compass they might have once had was essentially bred out of them. Now that they were free, many of them went off to explore the galaxy to spread ‘peace’ and ‘fun.’ Their ideas of these were a lot more murder-y than most species, and many of the space-faring members of their species are now either imprisoned or dead.

Wilford has spent most of his life in space either in prison or on the run from the GLE, but is, due to his shapeshifting ability, very good at getting out of scrapes. He currently has Mark’s form due to [REDACTED] and just really liking how it looked.

Yandere:

Yandere is an android, built by someone Mark saved once, as a way of paying back a ‘life debt.’ They were the star of a television show based on a stereotypical Japanese anime. However, the show was cancelled after only one season, since it was run almost entirely by aliens who had never met humans, and certainly had never met any who knew much about anime. The other androids in the show were scrapped, including Yan’s ‘senpai.’ Seeing their senpai destroyed caused a glitch in Yan’s system, causing them to turn violent and become obsessed with finding their senpai again.

The Jim Twins:

The Jim twins are also shapeshifters, but from a different species than Wilford. They, along with their entire planet, run a news station that spans the galaxy. All of their species has practically untranslatable names, so every single one goes by “Jim” instead. The Jim twins are interviewers. They shapeshift into someone that the interviewee trusts in order to get the best information and the most details. Legally, they can’t look exactly like the person they use to interview, so, in order to still get the most information, they’ll make minor changes, such as a slightly lighter eye color, or a slightly different haircut. They’ll edit this in post so that the differences are more noticeable to the viewer, but not to the interviewee.

Google:

Google was built by Jack as a gift for Mark and the crew as an apology for ANTI attacking Mark. He’s an information robot, meant to answer questions as quickly as possible and do simple tasks. Jack accidentally programmed Google with an attachment problem, making Google see Jack as a father figure rather than just his creator. When he was gifted to Mark, Google adopted his secondary objective of destroying Mark and his crew, since they were the ones who took him away from Jack. After running away from the Barrel, he returned to Jack’s ship, but soon ran away from there too. His current whereabouts are unknown.

Bing:

Bing was built as a counterpart to Google, with a morality programming similar to Chase’s. He’s also an information robot, but also meant to be a companion robot as well. A few of his parts were originally from nursery robots, and the conflicting coding causes him to unintentionally censor himself. He’s good friends with Ethan, or “robros” as they like to call it. He currently lives on the Barrel, answering questions and helping out as best he can.

Remnant promotional leaflets; general promotional materials and miscelaneous tourist-related literature indicate this was the remnants of a “space age” moonbase; with implications in the records shown from the timeline where “President Regan” did not exist.

The KOBOLD species; a type of sapient bioluminescent-reptoavian, inhabits these tunnels, existing on subsistence-farming of mushrooms. Origin of KOBOLDS unknown, but not likely from the timeline of origin regarding the base. Their language shares a common base with our reptilian agents, but with various seemingly bizarre differences; even accounting for linguistic drift.

At the central unoccupied launchpad opening upon a seemingly alien sky, there are multiple anomalous “rocket ships” being built, ranging from simple Goddard-esque rockets to Albecuerrie Drives to Darkmatter “Rockets” to even more anomalous technologies such as [REDACTED].

Subjects use limited resources altered through “Special works” into improvised minor anomalous-devices, engineered together into these machines. Some are moderately functional, many have failed catastrophically. The species’ seemingly vast engineering knowledge seems to compensate for their lack of proper equipment or tools.

Efforts at providing additional resources have produced mixed results, relating to both linguistic barriers and the , but have been promising enough to allow continuation.

All contact with KOBOLDS has been within the tunnels, for they refuse to exit due to a fear of unknown “Bad Skyfish”. The relation of the “Bad Skyfish” to BIG RED is unknown but troubling.

When asked for the reasons for their construction, they point upwards and say a singular word. Reptilian translators have told us that word translates to “Home.”

SO YEAH! Kinda did this one on yet another whim, but I do think it’s good at least I found a way to reveal some more hints about the G.U.F.F.’s backstory!
