Hello again!
Reading some interviews I’m curious about the teaser that “Dubai will be explosive/spicy etc.”
What do you think will happen in Dubai this season- if you were to speculate freely? Will there be violence? Do you think there will be horror and even frights? What kind of horror in that case? Truths seem to be coming to the surface - from maybe all of our main characters? Also how(!) do you think stuff will play out - I feel there’s been a lot of good speculation and of course the books are there about the what - but I’m getting more and more curious about the how of it all - if that makes sense?
Would love to hear your thoughts! Thank you!
Hey!
I've spoken about this before, but... I expect some kind of Merrick-esque fallout in Dubai, coming also with some kind of reveal wrt to "The Groan".
So - emotional impact and also lore-story-line explosion: 1000% :)
I just reblogged a bit of a discussion-meta wrt the revisit of episode 5 here, and I really am nodding along there, because I also feel that one of the big emotional gut punches will be that Merrick-diary-reveal (that was also a sucker punch for book readers back then!). And the attempted suicide after that.
Now, if that is really Marius in the trailer... then "Those Who Must Be Kept" are likely near. IF that holds, then they could be connected to "The Groan". That said, Lestat has to show up for s3 in some kind of manner as well, soo...
I think that Dubai will be increasingly painful. Memories will come back, years of memory, as was said in the trailer. Both Daniel and Louis will be deeply affected. Truths will come out. About their lives, about what they believed of themselves.
About what happened, and why.
The why will be the horror I think.
And the who.
Now, there are a lot of possibilities flitting around my brain as to how the season could end, tbh, but it's a bit difficult to pin down:
There's
Lestat waking up to save Louis , literally shaking the tower's foundations (which would be in line with Merrick, but might be too much "white savior" for the show, however, there was a version that Anne thought about writing first that the show might play with). This is what I think will happen.^^
Akasha waking up in the basement, literally shaking the tower to pieces (she did destroy the tomb under the ice when she rose)
Lestat coming from somewhere else and crashing the party
or Lestat coming onto the radio/TV/internet after all with his rock career
or something entirely new which has to do with the "great conversion"
Personally I think the rockstar career happened in the 80s, it just didn't lead to the same events, in a way proven by Daniel being old now.
We will need to have Lestat "there" somehow for s3.
I think Daniel will continue the interview for at least the next season. I think he will also remember something wrt Lestat.
I do hope for a 4 person play in Dubai in s3.
Imagine Armand, Louis, Lestat and Daniel on a couch, all aware of what the other knows (well, apart from life stories). The bitching, the pettiness, the hidden aggression. Glorious. I would love that.
I do not think there will be violence. Armand loves both Daniel and Louis way too much for that, and Marius would not hurt them either. IF there is violence then that is coming from another source, and if it isn't Akasha... I cannot quite see someone becoming violent, not really. Self-destructive, yes. But against another there? Mhhh. The books coming down on Daniel will most certainly connected to a cataclysmic event, and that... will likely be connected to "The Groan", imho.
And that cataclysmic event will then carry us into s3 :)
Sorry if this isn't... precise.
There is a LOT they could play with and while I see the arc building they might choose to pull something else in, maybe, like the threat by Rhoshamandes, maybe. Or even a Talamasca threat, something Anne toyed with, but never really wrote up.
So there are... possibilities.
The only sure thing is, imho, that it's going to hurt, and that it will bring us to s3 :))))))

fic writing ask game: 4 and 13!!
Hello!
4. Link your three favorite fics right now.
Assuming that their wording here was meant like "your three favorite fics currently" and not a demand to link "your three favorite fics ever right this minute," here are a few I've been returning to lately! (I've really had Steve accidentally getting his feelings crushed/revealing fucked up coping mechanisms on the brain, so there's a theme!)
perfectly misaligned by @emchant3d Honestly, I adore em's version of Steve and Eddie and anything by them is going to get a rec from me, but this one is a particular favorite. Draws the tension out just long enough that the comfort feels thoroughly earned once we crack Steve like an emotional egg <3
Still So Much to Learn by @bonitabreezy I love this one because a) it speaks a bit to the fandom's casual disregard for Steve's canon style and interests and eloquently addresses how dismissing the things someone enjoys can be as harmful as dismissing the person themself, and b) such well-written hurt/comfort
the bitterness of an apology on the tongue by loverboysteve (I know they have a Tumblr but I can't remember what it is right now, if someone knows it, I'll link it!) I just. really enjoy reading about Steve having fucked up coping mechanisms he thinks are Perfectly Normal™ because this is the way it's always been, only for someone who cares about him to go "Steve, what the fuck" and then deal with the emotional fallout. I'm so glad we all seem to agree on this
13. Do you outline your fics? How much of a headache would someone get if they just looked at an outline of yours without reading the fic?
So here's the thing. I have two settings when it comes to writing: strict outline, and "I know the ending, that's good enough." If I outline something, I have a lot of trouble deviating from it even when the story wants to pull naturally into what might be a better direction, so I feel like my writing is a lot better when it comes from the second method. Unfortunately, my memory isn't... as good as it used to be, so if I'm writing something a bit longer or with a lot of things happening at once that I want to keep track of, I need to outline it
On the other hand, this means that my outlines are really more like very rough first drafts. I can't just stick random words in there and hope I'll remember what they mean later, so I write down ideas and plot points in full, sometimes with dialogue attached. The only thing that might give someone a headache is the structure; I use that tiered bullet point feature in Word and indent things as the mood takes me. Trying to decipher my method of organization when I write it by hand might prove even more frustrating, but if you can get past that, you get a fairly complete story!

In Defense of Wedding Plan....or Lom, more specifically...
So, I actually don't see a lot of discourse on here about Wedding Plan...maybe I just haven't been on here as much. But also, there are a lot of deeper shows on at the moment that are tackling more ethereal ideas and Wedding Plan is more pulp-y romcom than anything else, so it's not necessarily ripe for deep discussion. But on tiktok where I'm fairly active in the BL community I have seen so much hate on this show. And I understand certain levels of frustration about the choice of storyline, but I also get frustrated because I feel like people are purposely disregarding several things.
(Editors note from right before I post this, I was going to add visuals, but I'm too emotionally exhausted now, so you'll just have to settle for the wall of text.)
I agree that it's not good, or right, or acceptable for Lom to have lied to Nuea. But there's been behavior that acts as though Lom is cheating...he's not in a romantic relationship with Yiwa!! He can't cheat on her. And yes, it does lead Nuea to believe he's at least attempting to cheat, but that's not the same. I recognize that Nuea would not feel great about his feelings towards Lom, both because of their professional relationship and what he is assuming about Lom and Yiwa's private relationship. But that's also a nuanced discussion in and of itself because Nuea knows there's something fishy going on with Lom's engagement. He doesn't know what, but he definitely suspects, I think from as early as episode 2. They go out of their way to set up in episode one his sort of sixth sense about couples with that McDonald's scene. Their intention is for us to see how observant Nuea is.
And watching this most recent episode (episode 6) as soon as Lom revealed that he fell for Nuea at Pai's wedding and said that he watched him, I knew that the comments were going to be out of pocket. It is not weird or stalker-ish to see a person that you find attractive out in the wild and look at them or watch them. That's straight up normal. I have done that. Now do I truly believe it was love at first sight? No, because I don't think you can love a person without knowing them, but this is also romantic fiction and love at first sight is literally the most common trope there is. It's also not weird or gross or stalker-ish for him to get Nuea's company contact info from Pai. If you like someone and you know that your friend has their contact info...asking them is not weird. I'd maybe be a bit iffy on a direct phone number, but a insta or snapchat name, a Line ID, that's not sus...like at all. He didn't hand over Nuea's personal address or something. And let's also remember that Prapai KNOWS Lom. They are friends. He knows that Lom is not a dangerous person, he doesn't pose harm to Nuea.
I'd also like to discuss episode 4/5...the first NC scene. I keep seeing comments about dubious consent or lack of consent altogether, and while I can agree with dubious...it's on Lom's part. When you watch the end of episode 4, Nuea isn't drunk. Like we're not given a clear shot of the table, but you see Lom with 3 empty beer glasses and drinking a 4th when Nuea shows up. Nuea you only see drink one, out of a short, mixed drink style glass, one you'd have like a Rum & Coke in, and the beverage is clear with a lemon wedge, so it's not even clear if it's alcoholic. But even if it was there are 3 total glasses like it on the table, so assuming Nuea drank all three, he'd have had to take them all back to back to back in order to be wasted after that. But beyond the context clues, his behavior does not indicate inebriation at all. He's steady on his feet, he's not slurring, there are no acting choices made that would lead one to believe he's drunk.
The fallout that comes for Nuea after that night isn't because of concerns about consent issues. It's about reconciling a destructive decision. People make bad choices all the time. They'll get caught up in an emotion, an idea, a person, and they'll do something without truly thinking about the consequences. And eventually it's morning and you have to accept the choice you made. Is it heartbreaking to watch that with Nuea? Absolutely. I cried at that scene. Pak did such an amazing job. And Nuea isn't the only one who suffers from that emotional fallout. We see the fear and distress on Lom's face when he wakes up and Nuea is gone. You can see his distress when talking to Nuea's boss. He tries to pull the rich guy privilege BS (which I will absolutely admit I hated), but she's not falling for it. After the boss learns everything, she gives Lom the contact info for Nuea's family, which again pissed a lot of people off. But again, it's not direct contact or access to him. She also knows that Nuea is in a place where he is safe and has a support system around him. Also Lom, while not a super clear thinking dude in that moment, is not a freaking serial killer and Nuea's boss is not an imbecile. She didn't just cave to Lom's puppydog eyes, and it feels kind of dismissive to me for people to act like she did.
So many people were upset that he followed Nuea to Chiang Mai...like...it's the same argument we heard about Pai for several episodes. If those things don't happen, there's no fucking show. If Lom stays in Bangkok and Nuea stays in Chiang Mai until the wedding has happened then the story just ends. And if you feel like there's no redemption for Lom after withholding the full truth from Nuea... why are you even still watching the show? Legitimately why? Because what is your expectation when you don't truly believe there's a way for Lom to be redeemed at all?
And I'll be honest, seeing the pretty dismissive reactions to Lom telling the whole story about him and Yiwa coming to the realization that their parents wouldn't be able to accept their sexuality, it really kind of hurts. I know in a lot of ways it feels easy to believe that the reason they hid it is because they didn't want to lose their inheritance, but have you considered that maybe they do love their parents? At least a little? I know that especially for many people in western audiences it seems easy and simple to say "just leave then" in response to queer people who stay closeted because of their families, but there are always going to be so many layers to that. Especially when you look at through a cultural context lens. It's really just is not that simple. Money creates a lot of privilege, that's very true. But we can also look at real life people for whom that money isn't clearing the way for them to live their life fully openly. You can literally look at PP Kritt and see that despite his privilege, fame, and familial wealth, he is still dealing with consistent societal discrimination.
I also don't love this narrative that Yiwa is being selfish. The arrangement was mutually agreed upon, by both of them. To keep each other's secrets and let Yiwa have her love. Does that seem unfair to Lom? Yeah, but he wouldn't have seen it that way prior to meeting Nuea. He wasn't expecting to ever get anything remotely close to a happily ever after, so it wasn't truly a sacrifice to him when he made that agreement.
And this also circles back to his comment about saying that he wanted Nuea even though he was getting married, because he just wanted that one moment of happiness. Is it a selfish idea? Yes, but to be shocked that a rich, privileged man exhibited selfishness is a bit much. But also, I don't think Lom was expecting to fall for Nuea. Like I said, I don't really think it was love at first sight, but lust. I think the more time he spent with Nuea the deeper he fell. I believe his intention was to have something along the lines of a fling, and that when it was over Nuea would move on from him and find his eventual happily ever after and he would settle for memories. That's part of why I think he withheld the truth even after Yiwa told him it was okay to tell Nuea the full truth. This is a man who never expected to find joy or a true partner but was willing to go to extreme's to help the person he sees as a sister have the opportunity to have her own happiness. But yeah, he's just a shitbag.
And the references to love-bombing...I hate how people have brought that term into the discussion of the last two episodes. So if you're not familiar with the term, it's become more common on social media in the discussion around narcissistic and abusive partners. It generally refers to overwhelming physical displays of affection like gifts and such, especially early on in a relationship, essentially with the intention of creating a power imbalance in favor of the narcissistic partner.
The following are the most common signs of love-bombing:
They give you needless gifts
They’re in a rush to lock things down
They’re always available and demanding of your attention
They can’t take ‘no’ for an answer
They like you better when you’re alone
They over-communicate their love for you
You feel overwhelmed, uneasy or off-balance
These are not things that Lom is doing. Buying McDonalds and ice cream for someone so they know you care...that's not love-bombing, that's at best wooing. Especially when intent is part of why it matters. Lom is doing it to show he cares, to show he pays attention to what Nuea likes, not in an attempt to make Nuea feel indebted to him for said gifts (that total up to about $10). Lom isn't trying to lock things down with Nuea, he's not attempting to force Nuea to choose him. He just wants Nuea to make the decision to either choose him or not knowing his love is genuine. He wants Nuea to be making an informed decision. He does not demand Nuea's attention, at most he requests it sometimes. He takes 'no' for an answer pretty regularly. He doesn't purposely or intentionally try to get Nuea alone. 'They over-communicate their love'...this one seems iffy, but it's not about saying "I love you" to a person, it's more related to presenting that love to others to cement a relationship. Essentially trying to make it awkward for a person to say 'oh well we're not quite that serious'. And that last one...Nuea is reflective and considering of the situation as a whole, but he's not uneasy, he's not overwhelmed. You could maybe argue afraid, but not of Lom, he's afraid of potential future heartbreak. Love itself is scary. Feelings of that depth and strength are scary. Because we all know that even if that love lasts the rest of your lives, the length of your lives is never guaranteed, and loss is ALWAYS a potential outcome.
I'm not arguing that the show is without flaws, all of Mame's shows/stories are flawed. But I do feel like there was a level of expectation that seems entirely misplaced. Like, these same people who love Payu and Rain to death, had nothing to say to the reveal that Payu had orchestrated at least one instance of a run-in with Rain, a person with whom there was a far larger power imbalance, but Lom pursuing Nuea, a grown ass adult who is never afraid to speak his mind to Lom, that's too problematic???
I don't know anymore. I like the show. It has faults, and flaws, and so do it's characters, but Lom is not a fucking mustache twirling villain out to trick and capture poor, sweet, stupid Nuea. And that's kind of how it feels like the discussions about the show have been going.

An idea of how I would rewrite Fallout 4 has been rattling in my head. Characters will be shuffled around and their motives will be different. I’ll expand on the characters and factions changes in other post because this post will end up being way too long.  For this post I just want make changes to the main story. This will mainly apply to our main character, Shaun and the Institute.
The game will begin with your character being woken up from cyro sleep. Codsworth the Mr Handy robot is the one who welcomes into the world. Codsworth will belong to vault tech and is not yours like in the original. Codsworth will explain your player character seems to be suffering from a bit of amnesia from being frozen for so long. Codsworth will try to get you to remember who you are. This will lead into the customization screen and you’ll also choose your special stats. Afterwards Codsworth will explain he doesn’t know why everyone is dead. You can pass a speech check where he explains that someone activated him and told him to release you. He doesn’t know who or why. You can of course look around the vault and if you pay close attention you will notice one of the vault dwellers has a gun shot wound. If you search them you can find a wedding ring. After you finish exploring the vault you and Codsworth will leave the vault and head to Sanctuary Hill.
I feel placing the opening sequence later in the story makes for an interesting mystery. Who are you? Who were those people with you in the vault with you and why are the all dead? Why did someone release you? This way you can get to know your character and decided who they are by the way you play. You did not need some holotape that over explains your backstory and will always be there no matter what. Did we need to know that Nate and Nora were a solider and lawyer? No. And I understand that some people don’t like Codsworth being a household Mr Handy because they were generally used in military bases or as guards. Making Codsworth a vault tech Mr. Handy that was activated by Shaun to wake up your character a bit more believable. I will expand on Codsworth in this new role in another post.
The game can pretty much proceed as normal as you meet the Synth Detective Nick Valentine and he takes you Dr. Amari in The Memory Den in Good Neighbor. Remember your character is suffering from slight amnesia and the pods in The Memory Den will help you unlock the mystery of what happened in the vault. When you are hooked up to the memory pod the original the opening sequence set during pre-war will play out. This is where you’re revealed to have a spouse and baby, then the bombs fell, you were rushed to the vault and frozen. So the random vault dweller with the gunshot wound whose ring you probably sold for caps was your spouse. But how did they die? The memory den will glitch. You’ll see a man in front of cryo pod and before you can get anymore answers the memory starts glitching and you are pulled from the memory. Dr. Amari will explain that your character seems to repressing the memory and there was a danger of hurting you if she tried to force you to remember. Nick will comment that he knows the man who is Kellogg and you will track him down like in the original story. When you retrieve the chip from Kellogg’s brain you watch from his perspective that he murdered your spouse all while you helpless banged against your cryo pod and took your baby to the Institute. The same Institute that your character has learned from the locals is a terror of the Common Wealth. There will be a memory where you can see old Shaun but the player doesn’t know that this is our son yet. It will be very obvious who those persons that gave your character extreme proportions. But for now you will only know this person as Kellogg's boss and the leader of the Institute. Shaun will tell Kellogg to track down and kill Virgil and Kellogg will state in the memory that Vigil is in the glowing sea so he couldn’t get to him. Your next objective is to find Vigil and find a way to save your son from the Institute.
Because I moved the orginal pre-war back story I didn’t want to show the killing of your spouse again from Kellogg’s perspective. It just keeps the pace flowing. In the orginal story showing your spouse’s death once was tragic. Showing it again from a different angle is just “Alright cool, I can see my character banging their hands against the glass.” As you tried to find Kellogg you should have learned with your interactions with the NPCs of the world you should be able to draw your conclusions of the Institute. How much of what people say is true? If they really are that bad what does that mean for your son? You now can put a face to who is in charge of all the abductions and fear mongering. When you find Virgil he can confirm all the horrible things the Institute has done but also the good as well. Vigil can put that doubt in your mind that maybe they aren’t all that bad. Any good or bad sad against the Institute the player will always have their leader’s face in their minds.
Honestly speaking the biggest failing in the main story of Fallout 4 story is that I do not care for Shaun and the Institute. They are a terrible faction because they are never given a good reason for anything they do. Which is a darn shame because they have a lot of plot threads that lead no where. Why did they kick ghouls out of Diamond City? Why are they making Synths and still turn around and treat them like slaves when they have robots? What is the point of replacing people when you are capable of just paying off the traders for information? They have a lot of protentional that could make a player ask a lot of moral questions but writing just drops the plot as quickly as it is picked up.
The Institute could have been well intentioned but misguided scientist faction truly trying to help mankind. The moral dilemma is the ways they go about in trying to solve problems of mankind. Firstly start by giving Shaun a personality. We should interact with him as much as possible. You could like him like you would Nick, or Piper or any other companion. First he would give you little innocent tasks. With each task you complete the more he encourages you, he tells you how happy he is to have you there. He even starts to call you mum or dad. But then he’ll start asking you to do things where someone had to pay the price for in cruel inhumane ways. Sometimes there may or may not be a positive effect. For example they are working on plants that resist radiation and don’t have radioactive effects when consumed. A lot of the food that is grown in the Common Wealth that settlers are surviving on came from the Institute. You can have NPCs say once upon a time food was hard to grow but now suddenly growing crops has gotten easier over the years. This new crop growth is the only possible after kidnapping people and testing their new foods on these poor people to confirm it was safe for human consumption. Will you bring them new test subjects? Another example is instead of the Synths being slaves they are meant to be the next step in human evolution. But the Institute is obsessed with creating the perfect human and not robot slaves. Unfortunately if you do not reach the standards of the Institute you are considered a dud and cruelly experimented on. The Institute thinks these synths suffering are necessary because to them they are helping humanity. Some synths will understand that they aren’t to the Institute standards and believe their sacrifice is for the greater good. Others will not and will try to escape with the help of the Rail Road. Will you help the synths or is their suffering justified because good will come from it? Maybe Shaun will request for you to kill Piper or Nick. Diamond City is under their control and they don’t need Piper or Nick around because they are a liability. Your actions should have consequences and impact you personally. I want the player to question at the end of the day when working with the Institute if the ends justify the means.

Submas Vampire AU: You get hurt.
Emmet:
[Afab/Drag king! reader.]
{Tw, stalking, blood, blood drinking, and stabbing.]
You winced in pain as you felt the stiches on your collarbone stretch under your shirt while putting on a T-shirt on, now regretting not letting the nurse help you get dressed, they told it was gonna be miserable! but in your adrenalin and pain killer fogged mind, you felt unstoppable and brushed off their assistance, but now ramifications on the whole situation was starting to hit you hard, you groaned in disdain eyeing the large bruise and band aid on your forehead. "Emmet's gonna freak!" you muttered warily, you know the hospital called him.
See what happened was You were at the cabaret bar this weeks theme was male video-game characters, everyone pulled a name at random, so there you were dressed as The sole Survivor from Fallout 4, while entertaining a group a girls, when closing time came around, one of the girls. (who you'd just learned just went through a nasty breakup.) had few tooo many and needed help getting to her cab.
So, you helped her get outside and you guessed it, her ex was there waiting! They got into it and you tried to break it up not seeing the knife in the man's hand, until...Well.... You aren't really sure what happened.
You remembered the girl screaming bloody murder at her ex and next you had a knife in you! You got pissed off!  And somehow had grabbed the guy by the front of his shirt and headbutted him in the face, hard! He dropped like sack of potatoes as blood flowed like a facet from his nose! That was probably what the warm slimy stuff you felt dripping down your forehead was.
Meanwhile his ex-girlfriend continued to scream like an Aerodactyl, until some of your co-workers came outside to see what was going on? And understandably started freaking out over you! You kept telling them you were fine and were just gonna head home now, You even tried to take the knife out! Luckily your boss Troy (Real name: Trudy.) Stopped you as you reached for the handle and had you sit down on a bench, while their partner Madame Meringue (Real name: Marvin.} called an ambulance and the cops.
The doctor said it was good you were wearing that lifejacket (You were wearing a vault security costume, and needed a bulletproof vest for your costume, the real ones were too expensive so you improvised.) It took most of the damage so you only had a minor cut on your shoulder that needed a few stitches.
And after wiping the blood off your forehead revealed there was another small cut that was quickly taken care of, and as for the guy who stabbed you? Well, you learned later that your super effective headbutt, not only broke his nose. But also knocked out three of his front teeth and gave him two black eyes! And no his Ex did not go back to him, she may have been drunk, but she wasn't stupid! And his "grand gesture" for getting her back (Yes his dumbass though she'd left him for you.) just solidified her decision to stay single! Hopefully his stalking ass will learn something from this, though you doubted it...
It was around six am when Emmet showed up, you could tell he was pissed! You noticed his eyes first; surveying the people occupying the hospital’s lobby warily they had faint red glow to them, as a rare frown adorned Emmet's face.
His hand slowly rose to cover his mouth so not to show his fangs, he could smell your blood... too much of it! Emmet bit into his cheek as he spotted you being pushed in a wheelchair by a nurse to him a low barely audible growl emanated from his chest as took in your condition...He saw red.
He wanted the one responsible dead! The nurse started talking snapping Emmet out of his thoughts, the vampiric conductor's fangs retracted Emmet put his hand down and put on his best showroom smile as he vaguely listened to her instructions on how to keep your stiches clean, not that it mattered to Emmet, he was just going fix your shoulder at home.
The nurse then handed Emmet a small bottle with a couple pills in it for the pain and sent you both on your way, You let out a startled yelp as Emmet lifted you out of the chair and carried you to the car, you learned early on not to worry about your weight as Emmet's stated he's got scary cool vampire strength, you barely weigh anything to him!
{After one tense and silent car ride.]
Emmet had you in his lap as the two of you, sat on the couch, he had you tell him everything while he took bandages off your shoulder. Troy only gave him a vague summary of what went down, Emmet assumed you were mugged! The subway boss winced when he saw cut marring your skin, without warning he brought his finger up to trace it, causing you to shiver. "Sorry did that hurt?" he fussed watching your face for any discomfort. "Not really it just feels weird..." Emmet frowned it was probably going to feel more weird when he takes those stitches out!
"Anyway, like I said one of the girls I was entertaining was telling me A-ab-" You sputtered feeling Emmet's fangs slowly dragging along you shoulder cutting the surgical thread open, Emmet held you tight in his lap as you continued talking. "...her cr-crappy unhinged Ex and...." You felt Emmet slowly lick and lap at the cut.
You let out shuddered breath your shoulder felt like it was on fire, as the skin began to slowly close weave itself back together. "He was waiting for h-her, they st-ar.. Started yelling and I-I got between them to tell him to get lost." Emmet suddenly stopped his ministrations, and stared at you in disbelief, Emmet was clearly processing what you just told him, before you could ask him what was up?
Emmet suddenly flicked you in the forehead. "Y'know, I was fix the scratch on your head too, but now? I think I'll just leave it there as a reminder of your own dimwittedness." he huffed while you begged him to reconsider, how were you supposed to know the guy had a knife?! after Emmet was done fixing your shoulder, He spent the next couple days giving you cold shoulder. but eventually cracked cause he missed cuddling you.
---------------------------------------------------------
Warden Ingo:
[Animal attack, blood, blood drinking, suggestive.]
{Fem/ Bi reader!}
"This is all Melli's fault!" you wailed running from a pack of angry and hungry Ursarings! You weren't sure what you did to set the flamboyant Warden off this time. Maybe you accidentally splashed some mud on his clothes, maybe he heard Adaman say something nice about you? Hell.... For all you know he was just mad that you were breathing in his general presence! All you knew is one second he's leading you around Wayward cave and the next he's gone!
You tried going back to the entrance but found some of the torches were moved or put out and the ones that weren't just lead you into dead ends. You were probably turned around in that cave for two hours before finding the way out, Then you found out Melli also removed the markers on the trees directing you to the Base camp! And you didn't have your Pokémon with you, cos you stupidly let Melli take them, he said he was gonna heal them.
"Argggh, I really hate that man!" you growled kicking a rock in frustration, the rock flew far into the darkness where you heard it something... followed by a low growl... "U-um" you stammered and squinted, you  saw a mass with bump on it's head, the mass slowly started to shift and rise up from the ground and started walking towards you, You felt like throwing up when you locked onto two angry red eyes of angry alpha male Ursaring staring down at you." Urrr" he growled while licking it's jaws hungerly....
Then the other Ursarings started coming out the woodwork... "Shit." with that you took off running, you weren't sure where you were going, and frankly you didn't care! As long as it got you away from these hungry Pokémon the better! *"C'mon Y/n, yer faster than this girl, work it!"* You yelled mentally in a feeble attempt to motivate yourself, when the inevitable happened, You tripped!
You yelped as you lurched forward and rolled down a small hill and lost a shoe on the way down, You groaned as you pulled yourself up and saw the Ursarings were still behind. "They just don't give up!" you tried to stand only to gasp as a sharp pain shot up your left thigh, you put you hands around you leg and felt something warm and wet seep through your legging, it was blood! Even in the dim light you could see the gash on your thigh. "I- Dammit, dammit!" You hissed forcing yourself up, and started to limp away but you walked right into a dead-end! You turned around and saw the Alpha Ursaring closing in claw raised high above it's head ready to strike! You closed your eyes waiting for it to end...
But after a few seconds nothing happened, you opened your eyes and were shocked by what you saw! It was Ingo standing in front of you his silver eyes glowed red, mouth contorted into a feral snarl. He was holding the alpha Ursaring's paw in his inhuman grasp, causing the large Pokémon to growl and wince in confusion as it tried to pulled it's paw loose, from the vampire's grasp, only for the poison type Warden toss the alpha like ragdoll! it's body slammed into the cliff wall and fell limply to the ground as Ingo turned his sight towards it's startled pack, a low threatening growl emanated from the warden; daring them to come forward, instead the Ursarings did the smart thing and ran for the hills with what little pride they had left.
You almost collapsed from exhaustion and relief, but Ingo was by you side in seconds and caught you. "Tha-" You were cut off by the warden pulling you into a intense kiss while holding you close. "I barely made it!" he gasped resting his forehead against yours, causing his hat to be pushed up a bit, You were tongue tied between saying something witty or stay quiet, but the sharp sting in your legs caused you gasp and you remembered your thigh! Ingo looked down saw the blood flowing down you legs and with out a word he picked you up and jumped up the cliff ledges before landing on one that out the way from Pokémon and people.
You knew what Ingo intended to fix your leg as he done it countless times for you whenever you've gotten hurt in the field, alight blush adorned the warden's cheeks as he reached for hem of your tights. "May I take these off?" Your face felt hot as you shyly nodded Ingo swallowed and pulled your ruined tights off, he pulled your leg over his shoulder as he examined the cut for moment luckily it wasn't to deep, though there might still be a scar.
Your breath hitched as Ingo slowly ran his tongue along your wound lapping up all the blood seeping from the cut, You covered up a up moan by throwing your hand over your mouth as you felt a pleasurably shock of heat shoot up your leg from the wound rapidly healing, Ingo's grip on you leg tightened as he pulled away from your thighs, he had a dark carnal look in his silver eyes that told you he wanted more then just blood right now...
[pov change]
Cut to the next morning where a nervous Melli was out looking for Y/n, after Adaman and Mai gave him an ear full for abandoning her with no protection out in the fields! Needless to say, the electric warden was stumped when he couldn't find her in Wayward Cave and went searching out in the quarries, where he found one of Y/n's shoes? His eyes looked around the area warily before he noticed the large trail of red droplets on the ground.
Melli followed it and felt his stomach drop into his feet when he saw trail ended where a knocked out Ursaring laid, Thinking the worst Melli's jaw hung open and legs began to shake as he thought about what he was going to tell Laventon and Adaman? When someone cleared their throat, Melli yelped and whirled around to see Ingo standing behind him with Y/n sleeping on his back.
Melli swallowed nervously as Ingo eyed him sternly, the poison type warden held out his hand while staring at her shoe, Melli went to hand it to him, when Ingo grabbed him by the front of his tunic and lifted the shocked man off his feet. "Pull a stunt like this on Y/n again and I Will Kill You... I am not joking. I will throw you off this fucking mountain Melli, Do you understand?" He snarled flashing his fangs at the terrified Melli who nodded and with that Ingo dropped him while taking Y/n's shoe back. "What's going on?" Y/n croaked waking up briefly as Ingo shushed her. "Nothing dear, go back to sleep." Y/n complied as Ingo brought her back to base camp, Let's just say Melli was little more tolerant towards Y/n since then, least he suffers Ingo's wrath.

Jukebox January: Day 3
the original post tag of all my posts
Today I'm doing C and Č, since I do have one Č song on the list! (I know there's a special characters day, but I have a different plan for that.)
California - Chappell Roan
I'm pretty sure I cried the first time I listened to this song, and I still cry regularly, because it hits that close to home. If I remember right, this song was written after she got dropped from her label and her partner broke up with her, all in 2020. For me, who had a hard time after graduating and feeling like I'm too old to achieve things (despite the fact I'm only still in my 20s!) it captures the feeling all too well. Also, I'm from the Midwest, and I grew up dreaming of places like California, so the perspective is very relatable to me.
Četri krasti - Prāta Vētra
Outside of Latvia, people may know them as Brainstorm (and as the best from Eurovision 2000, I will take no arguments). They're another favorite band of mine who's been around since the 80s. This particular song is the first on the album they released after their bassist died in 2004, and I think it makes a lot of the lyrics on this album very impactful. Prāta Vētra's lyrics are often layered in metaphors, and I'm always having to interpret them in a language I'm learning, but this one is particularly inspiring to me.
Carpe Diem - Joker Out
Could I really not put this one in, considering how much this band has become part of my life in the past half a year or so? Actually, while I enjoyed this song at Eurovision, I didn't vote for it--I voted for Latvia in the semifinal and Croatia and Finland in the final. The song that really got me into Joker Out, that'll be for tomorrow. I do have to say, though, my favorite things about Carpe Diem are the bassline and the structure of the song. In Eurovision, with the time limit of 3 minutes, I think it's hard to make songs that don't follow the exact "standard pop song" structure, but here we have two verses that are quite different, the guitar solo closer to the beginning than the end, and it even comes in 14 seconds under the time limit. I like it, I think it flows nicely.
Control - Poe
This song comes from one of my favorite albums in the world, which sadly kind of disappeared into obscurity because of some record label merger which resulted in Poe being dropped, losing all distribution of her album, and getting tied up in court over a bunch of things that happened around this. It's sad, because this is an artistically incredible album, with the songs woven with recordings of her father and young daughter speaking. It also ties in with the novel House of Leaves, which her brother wrote (though I've never read it, so I can't speak much about it). This song is so powerful and inspiring. I think my favorite lines are "All those things that you taught me to fear/I've got them in my garden now and you're not welcome here".
A couple more under the cut!
Champion - Fall Out Boy
When I want to feel better, this is one of the songs I reach for. "I'm a champion of the people who don't believe in champions" is the line that stood out to me from the first time I heard this song. I know Sia co-wrote this one, too. I have a complex relationship with Sia's music because some of her songs were really inspirational to me, but she's done some questionable things in recent years. Still, a song that feels good and gets me feeling inspired.
Crawl Out Through the Fallout - Sheldon Allman
Okay, so here's where I reveal my love for the Fallout games' lore. I've actually only played Fallout 4 (I have New Vegas too, but haven't played it yet). But I've always been fascinated by the duality of how nuclear technology is portrayed in society and media, how it's both futuristic and apocalyptic. So that's why I really love the Fallout soundtracks (and some other similar songs, which might pop up later.)

part four!
I have been grinding my catalog so I forgot to update again But here's my analysis of Side Order's cryptic images!! (4th to 6th images)
[4/18]
Tumblr media
The description on Inkipedia reads: “The Octoling character wielding an unknown weapon that appears similar to a Splattershot in one hand and something that resembles a Fizzy Bomb or an ink tank in the other”
In the side order reveal, where they show the playable Octoling standing in the white Inkopolis Square, they don’t have a weapon or ink tank on their person. Unlike in the Octo Expansion, where the playable Octoling at least wanders with their ink tank on their back. In the story mode across all games, the agents always have their weapon and ink tank equipped. I don’t think what the Octoling is holding is their ink tank though. It’s way too small to be. I think it’s a Tacticooler drink instead, as I can see something resembling the Tacticooler in the top right of the screen. Although they have a similar shape, I think this is wrong. It’s a new bomb that could be paired with the new weapon that the Octoling has. Why did I write the Tacticooler theory if it’s wrong? Because I might need this later, when more context is given. I like keeping all of my thoughts instead of erasing them all. It’s the only explanation I can give for the thing in the top right corner, but it’s way too tall to be a Tacticooler, unless this is a variant of it. Like how in some story modes, there were alternative versions to weapons you could use in the base game. On the gun that the Octoling is holding, I think it would have more range than a Splattershot. It’s bigger and longer, with the tank of ink it has being the only resemblance between the two. In this picture, the Octoling has something along their waste with a colored card on it. This wasn’t shown in the small clip we got of how this place looks in-game, so this will be obtained later. I assume that we’ll need this card to access new areas and levels.
[5/18]
Tumblr media
The description for this image on Inkipedia says; “An unknown character, presumably an Inkling, who is obscured in favor of their shadow.”
I want to agree with the Inkling theory, but I’m not too sure. When I first saw this image, I thought this was Marie until I remembered that her hair parts twice on her left side, which isn’t shown here. Whoever this is, their outfit is completely blacked out. Either on purpose, like it’s part of their design, or to not give any hints as to who it may be. But I doubt it’s part of their design, there would be more details if that was true. This image is quite the enigma to me, and I can’t put together any immediate answers for it.
[6/18]
Tumblr media
The description for Inkipedia says; “The Octoling crouching in front of multiple black spikes.” (OUTDATED) New description: "The Octoling crouching in front of multiple white inverted obelisk-like pillars with roots"
I discussed this picture with a few people on a discord server. One theorized that the spikes could be the spine of a dinosaur fossil. I don’t think this is the case because they still have their perfect points and are too close to each other to be functional in any way. So, I believe the theory of nuclear fallout more than this. The black spikes resemble hostile nuclear architecture, 4/7 ways to physically represent and deter outsiders from wandering too close, as it can harm the body up to 10,000 years in the future. The events of Splatoon are confirmed to happen 12,000 years after humanity died out from nuclear fallout. These structures can still serve their purpose. There’s this black substance that’s leaving a good two thirds of these spikes submerged, with what looks to be some sort of root resembling neurons growing along its surface. There is white coral beneath the dark substance as well at the bottom left. Fun fact about this image, it used to be the 6th on Inkipedia but now it's the 17th! I'll be keeping it in the order it used to be.
I have edited my posts to include previous/next parts!! (And now actively will update them to include this) NEXT: Cryptic images (6 through 9) PREVIOUS: Cryptic images (1 through 3)

Moar Fallout!
Howdy folks!
Welcome to May! Or the final day of April if you’re in the other part of the world. You know, the one other part. My birthday is now 57 days away… just saying.
So if you read last weeks post, you know I have been playing a lot of Fallout 4 lately - and I mean a lot a lot. This past week it has been the only thing I’ve played, to be honest, but I’m having a ton of fun. I spent a good bunch of time just venturing to all the locations that had been added to my map but I had not visited yet, and doing the repeatable quests where it’s like “Go to X place, kill a bunch of X thing, come back,” because that also sometimes reveals new locations. But the last few days, the big thing I have been doing is collecting a bunch of junk from all over the map, and in several cases, just buying screws and gears and stuff in bulk from the vendors in Diamond City and Goodneighbor, and carting it all back to my main settlement Sanctuary and building many many Giddyup Buttercups.
Tumblr media
It started out small (as pictured above), when I went to a manufacturing plant that was littered with Buttercup parts and a few intact ones. But then when I came across another, much larger manufacturing plant filled with these little guys, and then remembered I can make these things my myself, it started to get a little out of hand…
Tumblr media
…and then even more out of hand…
Tumblr media
…and now I am making it my mission to see how many of these I can place until the game gets sick. This is why I love this game - there’s so much freedom to create here. Or… whatever this is, anyway.
So far there are about twenty of them placed in central Sanctuary, but last time I checked I had about fifty in storage waiting for what I am tentatively calling ‘The Horsening’. My plan is to first place one or two in random places around the outskirts of the town, and then just keep adding more and more until either I reach the point where there is just a sea of yellow, or the game stops cooperating. That reminds me, I need to make a notie of a good save point in case I break the game entirely and I need to start over.
Tumblr media
Oh! And I have also been slowly building a museum and filling it with unique weapons and outfits that I find out in the Commonwealth, along with a ton of power armour sets as well. I’ll share some screenshots of all that at some point, once I have a museum layout and design I am really happy with.
One final thing I have to talk about before I let you go: I am thinking of doing some regular game streams! On like, regular days and times! I haven’t settled on a schedule yet, but I’ll be sure to let y’all know when I have. I expect to have that sorted out by middle of the week, and I’ll send out a little update, probably through the ‘notes’ feature on Substack that I have definitely figured out how to use already… or have I? In the mean time, follow me on Twitch!
As always, thanks so much for reading! I really appreciate it. Comments, questions or suggestions? Hit me up in the comments section, or over on the socials below. Thanks again, I’ll talk to you all again really soon. Ka kite anō au i a koe. 💚

SHTFPreparedness might be compensated with a portion of the sales made through the links on this site. Two women robbed a Circle K store in Phoenix in early August. They nearly robbed a man's life trying to steal alcohol, cash, and cigarettes. The first suspect was arrested later in the month. However, the second suspect remained at large until Tuesday when Phoenix police finally caught her. Alize Endonejha Jenkins, 24, and Misses Evans, a woman identified by police this week, stormed the Circle K convenience near 32nd Street & Broadway Road on August 4, at 2 a.m. Police say that Evans hit a store worker in the face when he entered the store. Jenkins allegedly stole various items while Evans grabbed the victim by the back of his head. He was able to surrender the PIN code at the cash register after she slammed on his face. Both women were seen leaving the store with armfuls of stolen goods. DID YOU SEE THIS WOMAN? A woman attacked this employee with a brick on Thursday, August 4, at 2 AM. The suspect attacked the employee until she gave the pin number to register. https://t.co/uFN3WxxX0L The clerk survived despite sustaining beatings and a head brick, but he was not seriously injured. Jenkins had been also arrested for shoplifting in March 2017. He was apprehended by the police on August 27. According to court records Jenkins admitted that she was at the Circle K but claimed she didn't know Evans would attack her despite carrying a brick into it. Police continued to look for Jenkins' accomplice, who reportedly had left Arizona. Phoenix police released a description of her, noting that she was between 20 and 30 years old, approximately 5'3" to 5'5" tall, wearing pink 'WASHINGTON D.C. cheetah-printed hoodie with multicolored pants, pink shoes, and a black backpack. AZ Family reported Silent Witness offered $6,000 to locate Evans. Evans was finally captured on Tuesday. Phoenix police thanked all those who shared the original video. Investigators indicated that both the women are facing multiple charges. Bonus: Root Cellar that Can be Used as a Bunker Do you remember the old root cellars our great-grandparents used to have? LadyNoir Inequality: Chat Noir’s Fall from Significance
How does Ladybug and Chat Noir's roles differ between the seasons? How was responsibility, positions, duties delegated between them? This essay analyses in detail how the LadyNoir fallout of Season 4 came to be, and how Chat Noir ultimately fell from hierarchal significance.
What attracted me to Miraculous, apart from the stellar animation and the potential of the in-universe powers, was the dynamic between Ladybug and Chat Noir. Like the camaraderie of the Phantom Thieves in Persona 5, the partnership between Ruby and Clancy in Ruby Redfort and the hierarchy of respect and power between the Hashira of Demon-Slayer, Marinette and Adrien interested me, because they are two very dissimilar people on separate standings who mutually trusts, supports, and depends on one another despite being different in almost every single way. Their powers, although complimenting, are not comparable, and their personalities, although cordial, are inverse. But despite these odds, Ladybug and Chat Noir are not just friends, companions, and confidants, but equals.
The first episode of the series, The Bubbler, demonstrates this splendidly (Author’s Note: The Bubbler is the first episode available on Netflix. Chronologically, Stormy Weather is the first official episode, but the same values hold up). It was a jarring introduction to a new show. The audience has no idea who Adrien and Marinette were, what Tikki and Plagg were or why these magical girl transformations suddenly granted them the powers to fight the maniacal butterfly man, but we can recognise the symptoms of two people already deep into the composition of their friendship. The Bubbler threw the smoothness and effectiveness of their teamwork directly into the faces of the audience, and it was brilliant.
We weren’t weighed down by the gritty details of the beginning, we don’t have to watch the awkward bumbling, the introductions or the unsurety of two strangers who have yet enough reason to trust one another. We were immediately thrusted into the middle of their partnership. The first thing Chat Noir did when he stepped onto the scene was to defend Ladybug and the first thing she did was to joke around comfortably, clearly relieved that he had finally arrived. After watching Marinette obsessively creep around Adrien’s house, trying to show love to a boy she barely knows, and watching Adrien uncomfortably trying to enjoy a social event which he desperatedly wanted but is clearly inexperienced in, the sudden switch of persona and their sudden familiarity and reliance on one another was a fresh breath of air and it made Miraculous a show worth investing in.
We may not know what happened between them, how they received their powers and how they know each other, but it is obvious some catalytic event has tied Ladybug and Chat Noir together. And by all the features exhibited (another great thing, the words spoken were only secondary to the demonstrative body language) the audience was immediately aware that they have stepped into something sacred, something unbreakable. And even with the thick wall of secret and unspeakable identities between them, we feel comforted when we see them together, because they are comfortable and happy with one another.
So, fourteen monster-of-the-day episodes later, when Season 1 presented the first inklings of Miraculous’ overarching plot, watching Marinette and Adrien receive their Miraculous, meet each other as civilians and then as superheroes, the scene is nostalgic and sentimental, and aided by the fantastic animation, the audience can appreciate and remember the defining passage as an evocative and triggering moment for years afterwards.
But that is not to say their partnership hasn’t been without fault.
The cracks were always present, but as the seasons rolled on, it only became more obvious. Their roles were disparate. Ladybug comes up with the plans, Ladybug comes up with the solutions and more often than not, Chat Noir is used as a tool and a distraction for Ladybug’s success. Ladybug had the Lucky Charm and the Miraculous Cure. Chat Noir can stand on his own, defend and attack as an individual, but apart from using the Cataclysm as Ladybug directs, Chat Noir has no outstanding impact on the defeat of any akuma. He does not contribute to any tactics, and he cannot win without Ladybug because he has nothing to offer strategically.
Assets aside, there is also the matter of leadership.
The audience finds out that Chat Noir initially took the frontman role in The Origins. He attacked Stoneheart first while Ladybug dithered behind. But as Ladybug regained confidence, she took the leadership position in both episodes, and Chat Noir was more than happy to follow. Thus, their dynamic was laid down. They both showed satisfaction with their place in the relationship, Chat Noir often yielding to her judgement, such as in Stormy Weather and Dark Cupid, and Ladybug asserts that Chat Noir was in her team in Antibug.
The first big indicator of disagreement in this mutually agreed arrangement was in Syren. A contentious episode, the consequence of Chat Noir physically rebelling against Ladybug’s decision for the first time. All the way to Season 4, Rena Rogue has stirred conflict and mistrust between the duo. When I watched Ladybug leading Rena Rogue away while Chat Noir stared angrily at their retreating backs, I remembered hoping that the episode would end with Ladybug telling Chat Noir everything, so that they could have their Season 1 relationship back. Where they navigated this confusing and alien new world together, hiding so much from the public and each other, but never their authenticity and belief in one another.
I wished that Ladybug had told Chat Noir about the Guardian. I wished that both of them had been privy to the information from the very beginning and I wished that both of them knew who the other Miraculous Holders were because they chose them together. Realistically, someone in the show should’ve connected the dots, and realised that most of the Miraculous Holders were attending a specific class in Collège Françoise Dupont and were all associated with a specific person. That was the only reason I could think of why having Ladybug and Chat Noir choosing the Holders together is a bad idea. It would threaten their identity (which at that point, was still a concern).
But canonically, Ladybug constantly chose Holders who were dangerously close to the situation. Kagami in Ikari Gozen, Chloé in Malediktator, Rose in Guiltrip and Max in Startrain. The only Holder Chat Noir has chosen wasn’t even chosen by his particular identity. Adrien suggested that Luka might be a good Snake, and Ladybug heeded his words, not Chat Noir’s. I wished there was a single scene where Ladybug and Chat Noir analysed the situation and the potential Holder together, looked at each other, no words needed to be said, just a nod and a telepathic agreement shared through their eyes, and Ladybug would present the next Holder with a Miraculous with her and her partner’s approval both given.
What was the point of keeping their identities hidden?
In Season 1, it made some sense. They had no idea the Guardian existed. Even if Chat Noir was reluctant, they can both agree that they could not take their chances, should one of them be captured. But with the reveal of the Guardian’s identity in Season 2, the need for secret identities is almost eradicated. Clearly, there is someone who is an even bigger threat to their civilian lives than Ladybug and Chat Noir are to each other. Ladybug is now burdened with a bigger cache of knowledge. Should one of them be captured, it can only be hoped that it would be Chat Noir, because unlike Ladybug, he could not spew information about potions and kwami and secret books and the Guardian’s location.
In Season 3, the climax of Miracle Queen places the duties of the Guardian directly in Ladybug’s hand. She is now in charge of all the heroes in Paris, she is now the leading physical and strategic force in the battle against Hawk Moth and she is now officially stated as Leader, not just holding a de facto position.
In Season 4, the need for secret identities is gone. Ladybug is the Guardian. She and her original partner, Chat Noir, has no more safety nets in keeping their identities hidden from each other because there is no longer a background link tying them. Should Marinette be incapacitated, should Adrien meet an accident, there is no one reading their news who is available to inform the other person. The only reason why Chat Noir’s identity continues to be hidden from Ladybug is because she does not want to know. The only reason why Ladybug does not reveal her identity to Chat Noir is because she does not want him to know.
Chat Blanc could be inserted as a contending factor. Chat Blanc saw to it that the reveal of their identities to one another could lead the end of the world.
But Chat Blanc was not the only factor.
Season 4 Marinette is overwhelmed and stressed and guilt-ridden. Season 4 Marinette tore herself apart trying to maintain the kwami, her Guardian duties and continue moonlighting as Ladybug. Season 4 Marinette was at the end of her tether, and at this point, Chat Noir’s presence and his insistence was no longer a support or a comfort but another chore and responsibility to be balanced.
Her support network as both Marinette and Ladybug were extinguished. Thus, in a peaking moment of weakness, she finally revealed her identity to Alya.
Marinette met Alya and Chat Noir on the same day. Two strangers both became her friend, two insistent strangers who were united in their goal to find out Ladybug’s identity. Marinette hid her secret life from Alya, Ladybug hid her civilian identity from Chat Noir. As Marinette, she was supported by passionate, fierce, and rash Alya who jumped to conclusions and unnerved Marinette with her determination to find out the truth about Ladybug. As Ladybug, she was supported by passionate, fierce, and rash Chat Noir who impulsively leapt into battles and irritated her with his constant declarations of love.
But Marinette had connections to Alya as both Marinette and Ladybug. She found herself acknowledging Alya’s true character and learned to rely on her through a multitude of trust falls and confrontations. Marinette made the decision to trust Alya, she made the decision to depend on a person she knows as both a citizen and a superhero.
She had no choice with Chat Noir. She never knew who he was, only that he was thrusted into the same situation as she was. Truth was an important concept to Marinette, she stated multiple times that she could not stand liars. And subsequently, she could never really trust Chat Noir because she does not know who he was.
Chat Noir was an emotional crutch during the finale of Season 2 and Season 3. He was the reason why she found the courage to go on despite the anxiety of her failures and the culmination of her carelessness. Throughout Antibug, Heroes’ Day, Gamer 2.0 and Miracle Queen, it was demonstrated that the only way Marinette could trust him and confide in her vulnerabilities was through Ladybug with him as Chat Noir. She couldn’t afford the trust the boy behind the mask, so, when it came to the end of her line, when she has no other choice, Alya was the one to receive the relinquishment of her identity, not Chat Noir.
Gang of Secrets signified the end of Chat Noir’s reign.
He was a founding member, one of the original team, once upon a time on equal par with Ladybug. But now, his presence only matters as much as a temporary hero’s. The released episodes of Season 4, Mr Pigeon 72, Sole-Crusher, and most noticeably, Optigami and Sentibubbler, demonstrated the redundance of his company. Both physically and emotionally, Rena Rouge (now known as Rena Furtive) has filled in as Ladybug’s partner. Chat Noir has to be sneaked around, shield from the fact that there is a new permanent hero and shield from the fact that now, there is one other person in the world who knows Ladybug’s identity, that isn’t him.
With Ladybug’s circle of temporary allies expanded, she no longer needs to rely on Chat Noir to be her support. She could gather up any number of useful powers she has at her disposal and expend them as she wished. In Megaleech, among the five-men team Ladybug had gathered, each one of them has contributed to the defeat of the akuma, with Polymouse outshining as the victor over the army of mini Malediktators, and each one of the other heroes playing a vital role in Ladybug’s plan. Chat Noir’s delegation? To distract the enemy while Ladybug gathered up her soldiers. In the end, he didn’t even use his power, marking the first time in a Miraculous episode that a hero was called upon and left without use. The Cataclysm is no longer necessary for the defeat of an akuma. But the Lucky Charm and the Miraculous Cure are as relevant now as they were when Stoneheart first attacked.
Optigami and Sentibubbler reached the apex of his unimportance. Both times, he was more of a hindrance than a reinforcement. He unconsciously prevented Marinette from becoming Ladybug, which derails the plan to Rena Rogue’s command. He has to be told by Marinette, the civilian, to stay out of the superhero’s plan, because there was nothing he could do that Rena Rogue wasn’t already doing.
The Cataclysm is a one-use power, Chat Noir is a one-trick pony. He’s still stuck in Season 1 mode while Ladybug has broadened to new powers, new suit, new duties, new partners, and new goals.
Hawk Moth knows the identity of all the heroes but Chat Noir don’t. Chloé knows the identities of all the heroes but Chat Noir don’t. Alya has more privileges and inside knowledge than Chat Noir has, and with Rocketear, Nino is now another confidant privy to more secrets than Chat Noir is.
All Chat Noir is left with, is the comedic side-kick routine he is now entrenched too deeply in to crawl out, the knowledge that his best friend in both his civilian life and superhero life think he’s annoying, and the realisation that Ladybug truly no longer trust him, because the heroes around him, his subordinates in a sense, now ranks higher in prominence.
Did Ladybug mean for this to happen? Absolutely not.
But Chat Blanc is no longer a reason big enough to cover all the discrepancies. And she has grown so used to keeping him in the dark to realise how much the darkness was causing the chasm between them to grow. Chat Noir is now outwardly lying to Ladybug that he’s fine, refusing to tell her that he knows to some extent the secrets she has kept from him. In Season 2, he angrily confronted her about being left behind. In Season 4, now that Ladybug holds all the power, now that he no longer has the authority to demand reasons and explanations, the only thing he could do is keep his mouth shut and hope that the sheer cliff he’s balancing on does not shear away even more.
Because Chat Noir is still fun for him, isn’t it? Being a hero, being himself? Chat Noir isn’t a role for him to act, to fake being happy, to pretend to be something he’s not. Chat Noir is a persona where he can be as expressive, as temperamental, as coquettish, and childish and experimental he wants. An entity where he can safely explore all the emotions children his age usually experiences without consequences. A place where he isn’t held under fear of abandonment or emotional abuse, where he can explore his identity and speak his mind without retaliation or repercussions.
Isn’t it?
Chat Noir’s presence is still prevalent at every akuma fight because he is a founding member. Ladybug has no reason to tell him to go home, and he’s still useful in the sense that he can provide distractions while Ladybug figures out her plan, and feed information to Rena Furtive who is hiding and watching and waiting. And there is still the Cataclysm, a power that is supposed to rival the Lucky Charm, whose potential is still yet unearthed.
But Chat Noir has no more standing to rely on. He is no longer a principal participant in the encompassing war between Ladybug and Hawk Moth, even if he is a principal target. Each side gathers up their warriors and equipment, and Chat Noir is just another treasured pawn in Ladybug’s army. He is alone in the fact that no one knows his identity. Ladybug has someone, Hawk Moth has someone, and both of them has an arsenal of champions to pick from.
He’s a wild card, he’s an anomaly. He was once Ladybug’s partner, he was a prototype for the modern Miraculous hero, and by himself, he had a visible presence. But he lost the novelty quickly.
Even in Season 1, people preferred Ladybug. She was the one to fix their city, she made the flashy speech at the Eiffel Tower, it was explainable. In Season 2, Hawk Moth began to ignore his Miraculous multiple times in favour of Ladybug’s earrings. Chloé called him Ladybug’s second fiddle. In Season 3, Fu’s obvious favour of Ladybug as future Guardian emphasised Chat Noir’s emerging sidelining. And in Season 4, Ladybug herself begun to omit her partner.
What does this have in store for the future? Rumours and headcanons fly, whispers of an akumatization on par with Chat Blanc looms closer and closer. Personally, I hope that something more substantial is done with Chat Noir’s character. There’s still so much to be expatiated, his family history, his own personality, and his unlocked powers. If the Black Cat Miraculous was truly the harmonizing consort of the Ladybug Miraculous, then logically, Chat Noir should be receiving the multiple new upgrades in the near future.
A climax where an issue that has spanned for four seasons ending within two episodes sounds stereotypically Miraculous and nightmarish. But the show has three more seasons to go, and hopefully this conflict will be used as a starting point for what may be in store for those seasons.
What if Chat Noir decides to deflect? What is he decided to derail, and what if Chat Noir becomes the next villain? ShadowMoth is a recurring joke at this point, and with the development of Season 4, ShadowMoth’s return in Season 5 sounds exhausting and repetitive. Looking at the overarching picture, there is only one person that has enough incentive and power to become Ladybug’s future archnemesis.
Love and hate are the opposite sides of the same coin.
But no matter what is in store for the distant narrative of Miraculous, this essay concludes on the now.
We look at Season 1 Chat Noir, and the Chat Noir of the latest episode. Even if his powers and position hasn’t grown, he has developed into his role emotionally, in an unfortunately negative way.
Chat Noir is no longer Ladybug’s partner, and analytically, no longer as important as he once was.
I really hope the show does something good with this.

#remind me to tell you about the time I brought up spn in conversation with a coworker before I was REALLY into it #and then the inevitable insane fallout of that convo I'M ASKING
Oh boy, okay anon, this got long because I don’t know how to be succinct, but you asked for it so here we go.
(the following recounting is posted with permission)
Let me set the scene: March 2020, the world is thrust into wide-spread lockdown due to the novel coronavirus. Cue me starting Supernatural for the first time because “what else is there to do?” I knew nothing about the show.
Zip. Zilch.
I ended up mentioning it during a Zoom work happy hour when we were talking about shows we were watching. The following is the first instance of Supernatural conversation with said coworker:
Tumblr media
That was pretty much it for a couple months. But don't worry, it gets better (or worse, depending on your perspective).
Putting the rest below the cut because... it's long.
The next notable moment was coworker deciding to do a rewatch (they had previously watched up to s7).
Tumblr media
Thus began us texting our reactions to the show. I’ll include some notable moments.
Tumblr media
I was NOT initially a casgirl, though I do think the fact that OTHOAP was the turning point for me says a lot. Please note coworker’s casual response to this (this will be important later).
At some point, someone mentioned the term “Destiel” to me. I can’t remember when. But I was aware it was a thing. Now here’s where things pick up. These texts were all a few weeks apart.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think it was at this point that Lie #1 was revealed that coworker had been way more into the show when they first watched it then they initially let one. Like fully on fandom Tumblr and LiveJournal and stuff. It’s fine. No harm. We came to the understanding that, “oh okay we’re both not normal about this, this is now a safe space.” Also funny side note: we at one point had a group chat with ANOTHER coworker but very quickly realized we were so far beyond where they were so we stopped talking to them about it.
We continued spiraling more and more. Coworker eventually ended up getting 4 seasons ahead of me in their rewatch. They broke the news about Destiel going canon to me, though at that point I was still on s11. Sharing some of those texts because our speculations were… well…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sick and twisted.
Anyway, we finished the show, I signed back up for Tumblr in January 2021 after 7 years away, I start making gifs, reading fics. I see people talking about 4lw, don’t know what it is, ask coworker about it to which they said “never heard of it.” Lie #2. A couple months later they revealed that they read it way before I did. Fine. I get it. If you’ve read it, you know. Sort of a weird topic of conversation for coworkers. Moving on.
At this point, I’m now just fully in the fandom. Making gifs, writing fic, making amvs. The whole nine yards. I thought I had fully spiraled past where coworker was in terms of fandom involvement. Well…
Tumblr media
October of 2021, they disclose that they had been writing Destiel fanfic since November 2020 (stream something suddenly everywhere).
And that’s pretty much it. We’re no longer coworkers but we remain very good friends that still don’t know how to shut up about this show.
I have a lot more hilarious anecdotes but this is already long enough.

2021 Creator Self-Love Extravaganza!
thanks @gentil-minou for tagging me! i'm gonna do my best here. being positive about myself can be a struggle sometimes but i try.
Rules: It’s time to love yourselves! Choose your 5 favorite works (fics, art, edits, etc.) you’ve created this year and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you’ve brought into the world in 2021. If you don’t have five published works, that’s fine! Include ideas/drafts/whatever you like that you’ve worked on/thought about, and talk a little about them instead! Remember, this is all about self-love and positive enthusiasm, so fuck the rules if you need to. Have fun, and tag as many fellow creators as you like so they can share the love! <3
first off i've written a lot more this year than i thought at 11 fics! some of them were short but still! for my favorite pieces (in no particular order):
and say you want me ladrien identity reveal, vaguely post season4 i wrote this in one day while blasting taylor swift and crying and that's the ideal reading experience too. i was deep in it about ladynoir and i wanted to write something comforting set post-ladynoir fallout to make me feel better about the angst this season
team is a four letter word post-rocketear reveal fic, WIP despite that fact that having an unfinished WIP stresses me out, i really have enjoyed writing this fic and exploring all four characters. this was my first time writing nino's POV which i was worried about but i think i did pretty good with it XD
this adrinette art i did this one for an exchange but i loved how it came out and i think it's probably my best art piece to date
this ladrien art this was a redraw of a kiss i'd tried drawing in 2020 so i love it because it shows how much progress i've made in digital art since then
curiosity cared for the cat alya character study, season 4 technically now a prequel to team is a four letter word, this is a short fic but i really love it because i enjoyed trying to fill in the details of alya's childhood and her perspective on why marinette's friendship is important to her (since that part of their friendship is so underexplored in canon)
tagging @kasienda @emsylcatac @chocoluckchipz @jennagrinsoverml @miabrown007 and whoever else wants to try!

The "Anti-Chat" Theory.
(Which is also why Chat Blanc 2.0 wont work and why Ladybug needs to be akumatized).
This is a turducken on my thoughts for S4 and the future of the show so just roll with it.
So, Season 4 has been wild so far, and if clues given by the writers and people involved in show are any indication, this is only the beginning, we are in for a bumpy ride and things are just going to keep getting worse.
In all the discourse revolving season 4 something that we are all mentioning is how “Chat Blanc” is still a thing and there is no guarantee it won’t happen again. If anything it now seems more likely Chat Noir will get akumatized considering the imminent Ladynoir fallout, and how Adrien is still living with his Father, as his isolation keeps getting worse. And though I am always In for some good Character angst, and I feel like it is necessary for Adrien to know about Chat Blanc, and/or for Chat Blanc to reappear, I don’t think Chat Blanc 2.0 is something Adrien nor the show needs right know.
This theory has many parts, I promise it all ties neatly at the end.
First things first, I may be a little biased, Chat Blanc is an episode I really enjoy. I love Time Travel shenanigans, and I was dying to see Adrien finally find out about his father. The heavy consequences of the episode were obviously erased, but the impact of it all still remains trough Marinette, whom we see in the episode ‘Sentibbubler’ is having nightmares about the whole thing. But still, I love the episode, and I really don’t want an “Stormy Weather 2”… which is an episode I heavily dislike, compared to THE BEST formulaic episode of the Whole show, a.k.a “Stormy Weather” a.k.a My favorite episode. So yeah, this whole first point is just me REALLY not wanting an episode called “Chat Blanc 2.0” But there is more to it, and is the fact that I don’t see how it could work out.
“Chat Blanc 2.0” is unnecessary, and the reason why is that bringing him back wouldn’t actually do anything besides perhaps bringing Ladynoir further apart. Ladybug still CAN’T know Chat noir’s identity, (Let’s be honest and admit that’s prolly s4 finale OR happening during s5) so the show would go out of its way to make his dialogue as plain as possible without mentioning his father being hawkmoth. And yes, I do realize that Chat has been bottling his emotions and it all is likely to come out during THE ladynoir fall out… But people are ignoring the elephant in the room which is that Chat Noir DOES NOT fight Ladybug.
I promise this is relevant.
Chat Noir, unless mind controlled, would never attack Ladybug. The most clear example of this is in “Gamer 2.0” when he straight up says “I could never bring myself to fight you” as he sacrifices himself for her, that added to their classic “Is us against the world, My Lady” every season finale, and Marinette’s “In case something happens to me” In ‘Optygami’, it all could pretty well be a foreshadowing of a Ladynoir fight, where Ladybug is akumatized, and Chat has to willingly fight her. Yes, one could argue that he did fight her during ‘Chat Blanc’, but it could also be read as more of him trying to make her listen.
Where am I going with this? Chat Blanc 2.0 would be unable to bring the nuance the story needs right now. Chat Blanc still wouldn’t fight his father, because I doubt they won’t leave that for season 5. Chat Blanc still doesn’t have a motive to actually fight Ladybug. But the most important part is… What would happen at the end? What would be the change? What conversation are we having? What would be different than what we got in the original Chat Blanc?
To be fair, maybe I am wrong, maybe it can work out, this is just a theory. Maybe all the things I crossed out as impossible will actually happen, but I have been watching the show for 6 years, and If I have learned something about it, is that it is a slow burn, in ALL the aspects.
So yes, I believe Ladybug/Marinette needs to be akumatized, but I also think that Adrien has to learn about Chat Blanc, and that Chat Blanc needs to reappear, having a bigger Role than just a nightmare. So… how does that tie with everything I just said? Easy, the “Anti- Chat” Theory’
So you probably remember “Anti-Bug”, one of the best episodes from season 1, where Chole tries to help Ladybug, she doesn’t listen, and Chloe ends up being akumatized into “Ladybug but evil” … In theory, that is the deal, and is no wonder I am picking Felix Graham De Vanily to fill this role.
From an animation perspective, Felix is the obvious choice, he is identical to Adrien, and if following Anti-bug’s logic in costume desing, that would mean they can reuse Chat Blanc model with no alteration needed.
Now, How would this work? By giving Ladybug a jump scare. She thinks she has to live one of her worst nightmares again, to then find out “Oh… This is not Chat Noir” while still creating enough tension, by looking scared and distraught, that she HAS to tell him that she is scared of him being akumatized WITHOUT actually needing to mention the alternative timeline. This gives Chat noir the chance to lash out, once he realizes this is part of why ladybug is keeping him away, which can lead to Ladybug’s future akumatization.
Why this way? And please hear me out. Chat Noir NEEDS to let his emotions out, and I don’t think lashing out at ladybug is the best way but I see it as necessary. Adrien needs to take on more responsibility while being Chat, but he also needs to learn how to healthy express his emotions, because he is not allowed to do that in his current situation. Ladybug being akumatized because she feels guilty about Chat Noir allows Adrien to do BOTH. Because to save Ladybug he would have to realize “My emotions are valid, and is okey to let them out, but the way I did it was not the right one”, and both Ladybug and Chat Noir would have to apologize because this whole thing is not miscommunication… is a misunderstanding of their partners character. Ladybug needs to relay more on Chat and Chat needs to take on more responsibility… it won’t happen if Ladybug is the one that needs to save Chat Noir.
Adrien needs to realize that he needs to save himself, and that there’s people outside of his father that care for him. Ladybug is this figure that he looks up to and Admires, and is from a side of his life that his father has no control over, (At least from his perspective). So if she forgives him, if they are able to fix their relationship he will realize that things can get better.
Now, going back to Anti-Chat… his deal is way bigger than just bringing The Ladynoir fight… Is about setting up seasons 6 and 7.
What do we know so far? The Love Square and Gabriel’s Hawkmoth is going to come to an end by season 5. Which has left many fans wondering “Then what is happening on seasons 6 and 7?” And the best answer we have so far is in the episode “Timetagger” where Bunnix reveals that there is a whole team of miraculous holders fighting the Hawkmoth of the future, which is by the same episode confirmed to not be Gabriel Agreste. Besides this, I think it is safe to assume that the specials are quietly setting up themes that could come back In seasons 6 and 7.
Now, when speaking about characters that could be future villains the fandom seems to have its collective mind set on two individuals: Lila Rossi, and Felix Graham De Vanily.
Besides ‘Rocketear’, (E17), ‘Wishmaker’ (E18), and the special ’Shadow Moth’s last attack’ (Eps 25&26) we don’t know the names of the episodes of the second half of the season, which is really uncommon for miraculous ladybug, and the reason they gave us as to why is “You would know who is akumatized based on the names”… Which AGAIN, is really uncommon for ML. If you have been in this fandom for a long time you’ll realize that most people working in the show don’t really seem to care about spoilers. Now, this is kinda a conspiracy theory, but If you saw that there was an episode called “Anti-Chat” would you have assume it was any one other than Felix?…. No, right? That’s what I though. Miraculous has proven that it is good at subverting expectations, so when they are pointing at something (like a Chat Blanc 2.0 episode) it may not be as we want or suspected it to be. So I think an Anti-Chat episode makes a lot of sense.
Now, Why am I saying that this can set up future season? Buckle up, pals, here we go. What do we know about Felix?
He is evil, or at the very least seems to be ill-intentioned, if his attitude and look at the end of his episode is anything to go by.
He is after jewelry. Which, yeah, was only shown in that one episode he appeared, but this could pretty much be a foreshadowing of him later on going after the miraculous.
We know that he is bound to appear 3 more times
For this theory to work, I need it to happen in episode 22… Yes, the feared 100th episode of the show. It is not as important why Felix is akumatized, but what is happening WHILE he is akumatized.
Besides what has already been discussed, with Ladybug being scared, Ladynoir should not be able to work together. They are tumbling on each other because Chat Noir feels like she doesn’t trust him, but Ladybug NEEDS his reassurance right now, which he wont give.
This, is directly parallel with what is happening between Anti-Chat and Shadow Moth. Because Felix, even though he wants the miraculous, he won’t let himself be bossed around. He is demanding things from SM, and like in Robustus, Anti-Chat tries to, not just take Ladybug’s and Chat noir’s Miraculous, he wants to destroy Hawkmoth too. Which will lead to Shadow Moth being the reason he gets de-akumatized, instead Ladybug and Chat Noir saving him... bringing more fuel to the Ladynoir fire.
Now, Why should Felix have an attitude with Shadow Moth? Well, my friends… Do you remember, years ago, when the producers of the show said “The peacock miraculous holder will make Hawkmoth look like a baby”…. That’s not Mayura. Nathalie is a great miraculous holder, and she is really clever. But instead of making Gabriel look like a baby, she makes him look smart because he has someone like her on his team. What I am saying with this is that Felix, will suspect/ figure out Gabriel is Hawkmoth at the en of Anti-Chat, and that he will get the peacock miraculous during “The Last attack of Shadow Moth.” Thus, setting up a villain for future seasons.
This makes Felix 3 appearances be: In episode 22 (Anti-Chat), In episode 26 (SM last attack, part 2), and during S5’s finale. Felix situation will be much like Lila’s during s1 and s2 where she was introduced at the end of the first but not used until the end of the second.
Conclusion:
Felix Graham de Vanily has the potential to be a future villain and bring the Ladynoir conflict to finally surface.
And to clarify, The Ladynoir conflict, just like this Felix theory, is not something that will, nor can get resolved in one episode. If anything the fight will be around the end of season 4, and it will get resolved during season 5.
But again, this is just a theory, and I will probably be death wrong, but who knows?

hey allie i was bored and had this question on my mind for a while but what's the situation with sam and dean's parents? like the only thing i know was that john sucked and that it has something to do with god meddling something
oh boy...
so the mom, mary, dies when sam and dean are little (her death in the start of the pilot is actually really well known and genuinely scary) and this kicks off the premise of the series where the dad, john, becomes a monster hunter and raises sam and dean to become ones as well to save other people and avenge mary.
john does indeed suck, he started teaching dean to be a killer when he was 4 or 5, left him and sam alone in motels for long periods of time with insufficient food or money (and threatened to let dean rot in jail after he got arrested for stealing food), lost his shit when sam wanted to go to college and try to have a normal life and forbade him from contacting either him or dean if he left, and just. so much other stuff that’s too much to get into. he also seems to have actually been a infamous/not all that great hunter and mostly isolated sam and dean from any kind of hunting community aside from a few loner libertarian survivalist types. there are also a LOT of implications of things like physical abuse and maybe even suspecting dean wasn’t straight, among other stuff. john dies after only a season but his presence kind of hangs over the entire show and both sam and dean.
back to mary, who at first seems to have been a domestic goddess and perfect wife but is anything but! its revealed over time that she was actually raised as a hunter herself and used john to escape to a normal life, which she was actually kind of bad at. she and john’s relationship also seems to have been falling apart to the point where even dean could remember them fighting and trying to deal with the fallout as a toddler. this is already a lot but in a shocking twist of ACTUALLY good writing mary gets un-fridged at one point and rather than being the ideal mother john taught sam and dean about, she has an understandably hard time dealing with all that and goes off to do hot hunter girl shit while slowly struggling to rebuild a relationship with her sons and find a place in this new world and it RULES!!
unfortunately she gets re-fridged in the second to last season and...on one hand its all part of the reveal that god, who is a shitty hack misogynistic writer, has been manipulating their lives this entire time which imo is also another shockingly good bit of writing. on the other...she’s still dead so. yeah. also one of the many many horrifying parts of the finale is that she and john are apparently happily living together which. WHAT...god its so bad, what was the point of any of it if thats how it ends.
