Slippery Lane, Bath .

One of the few remaining reminders of the Medieval City of Bath..

It used to lead to the ducking stool at the end at the River Avon, near to the Medieval East Gate of the City, which is the only one remaining.

There is no public access to these areas..

Its very eerie looking and steeped in history, and no doubt has its fair share of ghosts...?

Fear is a difficult thing to capture on film, but this photo does a pretty good job I reckon. Sept 9, 2020. Tammie’s first time out at sea. Lots of people on the Kennet and Avon canal had warned us of the fierce tides and currents in the Bristol Channel, including a retired naval officer who had taken Tammie aside and told her our voyage around Wales was suicidal. By the time we exited the mouth of the River Avon into the Bristol Channel, our apprehension had reached fever pitch. The waves suddenly got bigger, a 5-knot tide starting sweeping us south, and a dredger locked on collision course. To cap it all, a helicopter appeared clattering overhead. The noise was deafening. “Are they here to rescue us?” Tammie shouted, reaching for Beulah Bill (her comfort chicken). Considering how terrified she was of water and going to sea, I’m very proud of Tammie for facing down her fear.
