thinking a lot about katniss and johanna both finding comfort in the woods. surrounded by the quiet of the trees. maybe post mj they go together and spend a day out in the woods past 12 . and they don't talk much because there's not a lot to say. they just walk in each others company. they've both loved the woods for so long. the smell of pines, the sound of water running through a stream nearby. just forest girls :(((

Don't let U-Official distract you from Zima's Hardbass YouTube channel
Tumblr media
I like to imagine that the MVs are either really badly filmed cityscape shots or various clips of the Ursus girls being absolute idiots. Istina is standing on top of a lamppost (how she got up is never shown). Rosa joins Zima in dancing and is Atrocious. Gummy poses next to a blacked out Leto whose stillness is starting to get concerning. Absinthe is the cameraman.

Tumblr media
You never believed in love. Even if you were destined to be with a person for the rest of your life, you had no interest in finding them. You had other things to do–better things to do, like strive towards your dream job and enjoy your life to the fullest. Becoming a veterinarian has been a dream of yours since you were a child.
You’ve had a passion for helping animals after they’ve done so much for you. You simply wanted to return the favor. However, you were currently taking a gap year to bring yourself into a better mental state.
Rosa, your cat, meowed, curling up in your lap. Chi, your emotional support dog, whimpered, trying to nudge your cat off your lap. Your animals had a jealousy feud that you hoped would die down. You only recently got this emotional support dog, so you hoped they would ease up to each other. You were currently eating dinner and watching a Studio Ghibli movie. They were your comfort movies–perfect ones to curl up and just enjoy the amazing scenery and phenomenal characters and storylines. If only you could be transmitted to the mystical fairytale-like world of a Studio Ghibli film.
But alas, life is not a fairytale. It is filled with hardships and challenges you must overcome. You knew that all too well.
Suddenly, you heard your doorknob jiggle. Fearing someone was trying to break in, you grabbed Rosa and hurried her and Chi into your bedroom, shutting the door, in order to keep them safe. You ran to the kitchen and grabbed a knife before heading over to your front door and held your back against it.
“Stupid, stupid Y/n,” you muttered, not even thinking about grabbing your phone in a state of panic. Slowly, you inched away from the door and rushed to grab your phone on the coffee table in front of the sofa. You dialed the police and held your phone to your ear with a shaky hand.
“What’s your emergency?” A male voice came from the other line. “There’s someone trying to break into my house! Please, please hurry,” you said frantically. The door burst open and a scream erupted from your mouth. However, a brunet man yanked the intruder back and slammed him to the ground. “Ma’am, is everything alright?” The voice spoke on the other line. “Th–There’s a man he…he pulled the person breaking in out of my home and threw him on the ground,” you stumbled over your words. The sound of sirens rang in your ears, coming from a distance. “What is your address, ma’am?” “I–” “Don’t worry, those sirens are for us!” The brunet man called out, holding the intruder's hands behind his back. “How can I trust you?” You shouted at him.
It was then that the sirens approached your home and several police cars appeared in front. You didn’t dare move from your position, as if your feet were glued to the ground out of fear. The police arrested the man and questioned you and the brunet.
When the police left, the man finally faced you. “I apologize for this intrusion. I didn’t think he’d try to break into somebody’s house–let alone a lovely lady like you,” he told you. Your eyes widened at the man, not because of his flirtatious remark, but because of the fact he was the man from your dreams–your soulmate.
“I’m Dazai Osamu,” he introduced himself formally. “Nice to meet you, Dazai-San, but you really must be going now,” you explained, beginning to turn to enter your house again. “Wait, that’s no way to treat your soulmate!” He complained. So he did know. You paused in your steps, turning around.
“Look, I have no interest in marrying my soulmate or even being in the same vicinity as them. So, you can just leave and live a cozy life with some other person,” you told him, crossing your arms and staring at him. “Isn’t that what people dream of though?” “Not everyone, I just have bigger priorities other than love,” you explained, shrugging.
“Hmm, well if that’s the case, I’ll see you, mystery girl,” he said, smirking. Dazai began walking away, leaving you to sigh heavily and enter your home. Entering your bedroom, you let your pets out. Returning to the sofa, you tried continuing your movie and eating your dinner, but had an uneasy feeling in your stomach.

“Y/n, when will you be attending college?” Your mother asked, causing you to drop your utensils on the plate below you, making a clattering sound. Tucking your bottom lip between your teeth, you huffed angrily. “Mom, I’m trying to improve my health,” you briefly explained, trying not to get agitated and say something you don’t mean.
Chi noticed your stressed state, rubbing the bridge of her nose against your leg. “It’s been ten years. You have got to get it together, you’re an adult now,” your mom pleaded. You sighed, not wanting to have this conversation in public. “I know, mom.” You kept your voice down. “I’m serious, I’m not gonna be here much longer. You’re going to have to figure things out for yourself.”
You sighed, running a hand down your face. “Yeah, yeah, I know,” you mumbled, shaking your head. You were well aware you’d lose your mom someday, yet you still prayed that day never came. After all the loss in your life, you craved someone to be with you forever. Someone you can form a connection with.
Your mind drifted back to the man who saved you from the intruder. Your soulmate. It was like a nightmare come true. You didn’t want love, but you needed love. You tried pushing it away as much as you could but the desire never went away.
Brushing it off, you continued to poke at your salad with your fork. It wasn’t like you were going to see him again, so you shouldn’t even be thinking about him. He’s probably off thinking about another person as well.
SIghing, you tried taking a bite of your meal. Your appetite hasn’t been very large since the age of 16. It might’ve been stress-induced, but you weren’t too sure.
After finishing your meal, you and your mother parted ways. “Think about what I said,” she told you, ruining your mood again. You had just forgotten about it. Shaking your head, you began heading to your car with Chi.
You dropped her off at home and drove to your job at a local nightclub. You worked as a bartender and earned a hefty wage, completely oblivious to the fact that it was solely because your employer was into you.
“Hey babe,” Kaori, your best friend, said, glancing at you before continuing to change into her attire. “Hey Ri,” you replied back, beginning to change. “You will not believe what happened to me…” You recalled the attempted break-in that occurred the previous night. “No way, what the hell?” She exclaimed, turning when you finished tucking in your shirt.
“I wanna spot a cute guy in the crowd tonight and make him mine!” Kaori giggled. “Yeah, make him yours for one night. Then you’ll be onto the next guy,” you chuckled, exiting the changing room. “No, I'm serious. I wanna settle down.” Your eyes widened. The thought of your best friend, who was usually a party animal and took a new guy home every night, settling down seemed impossible.
“Well, it’s your life and it’s up to you.” Kaori nodded eagerly and placed her arm around your shoulder.

Young American - Part 10
Tumblr media
Hey friends, thank you for your patience! Chapter 10 is kind of a fluffy and emotional breakthrough for these two. Next chapter is the first date and some smutty-smut!
Series Masterlist
WC: 5.8k
The holidays had felt really long for Y/N. Her family was very big on traditions and being together and making memories and so she definitely missed that part of things. Her mom had sent her a text wishing her a happy holiday but that was about it. She did have fun with her aunt Julie and her friends, but this was different and she felt like a baby for it but she did cry when she went to bed and when she was able to talk with Harry the tears flowed again, though that was largely because she missed him and she was about to get her period so she was very sentimental and he just looked so cute and cozy in his hoodie. They had only talked on FaceTime on the 26th and on new year’s eve, he was so busy catching up with family and friends, out of everyone she understood the importance of that. Other than that, they were texting constantly, which was fine by her.
It did bum her out when Harry informed her that his flight was cancelled due to some bad weather, but he was going to make the best of it by extending his stay by a few more weeks; they did FaceTime for that conversation and one other time when he was showing her some new designs he was working on. But he informed her that after chatting with Auree and seeing that he had no clientele scheduled for January he took a few more clients at Eddie’s shop in London so that he could try and recover what he’d spent on travel. After all, he still had rent and bills to pay whether he was living in LA or not, so he needed to make money any way he could and if that meant taking more clients in London while he was there he would do that. He and Eddie would be flying in together actually, since he wanted to come and see how everything was going. They would be arriving in a few days and so Y/N was spending lots of time with her friends from school, the shop, and Julie because she knew that once Harry was back he would likely steal her away to make up for lost time.
Y/N had been doing most of the walk-ins now that Harry was gone and it was giving her tons of time to practice. Auree was doing a lot of her supervision and she was very impressed with her progress. Most of the things Harry had been focusing her attention on were near perfect now that she had the opportunity to execute those styles and techniques. She even did her first realism piece, it was a small scorpion, but it had been a challenge none the less and it turned out perfect. She had also been working on ways to bring her tattoo up to the standard that she wanted it to be, but that was in the evenings before she went to bed.
“Hey, daydreamer!” She heard Rosa’s voice and snapped out of her head and watched as she and Vy chuckled.
“What?” She asked with a giggle.
“Don’t look so bummed, Harry’ll be back in a few days.” She teased and Y/N rolled her eyes.
“I’m not bummed, I was just thinking.” She said, “I frown when I’m thinking.” She explained.
“Thinking about missing Harry.” G added in with a smirk from across the studio, he was currently tattooing a client.
“Oh shut up and mind your tattoo.” She said which made him and his client chuckle as Rosa came over to her.
“OK, but I’m not shooting into the dark when I say that you miss him, am I? You miss him at least a little tiny bit.” Rosa said and Y/N felt her face flush but Rosa didn’t say anything, she didn’t need to, it was all in her eyes.
“No, you’re not.” She admitted and Rosa winked which made Y/N snigger.
“Even I miss him! He’s quite wonderful when he’s not being a dick.” Vy said as she came over to join their little gab session at the drawing station.
“Yeah, he is.” Y/N smiled.
“So, I’ve been dying to ask but everyone told me to leave it alone.” She said glancing at Vy who rolled her eyes, “When he whisked you away when you were having a bad day, what did you do?” She asked with a suggestive grin and Y/N shook her head.
“Not what you think, you horny little cretin.” Y/N said through some laughter and Rosa cackled loudly and Vy smacked her arm.
“Don’t get crazy, you don’t want to startle G and make him mess up! The guy is getting his kid on his arm.” Vy scolded Rosa who then glanced back and mouthed an apology to G who was already glaring at her.
“And to answer your question he took me to the beach. We just got some fresh air and drew a little bit-”
“Each other?” Rosa interrupted to ask and Y/N glanced down for a second.
“It wasn’t the plan, but yes.” She said and this made Vy and Rosa coo softly and for poor Y/N’s face to heat at the attention these two were giving her, “Then we went to these sand dunes and Harry ate shit.” She chuckled as she recalled, “I mean, I did too, but his fall was funnier than mine. And then we went home.” She shrugged as she finished her story.
“Home, huh?” Vy asked and Y/N bit her lip for a moment before looking at Vy.
“You know what I mean.” She said and Vy smirked.
“I’ve been dying to ask, he kissed you at my party didn’t he?” She said and Y/N rolled her eyes.
“No. He was drunk as fuck, I had to drive us home!”
“Home… there it is again. Almost like you…share a home?” Rosa teased and Y/N rolled her eyes yet again.
“Yes, we shared my house that night because I had no idea where he lived and he completely passed out before he could put his address in the damn GPS.” She explained, that was very nerve-racking for her but he had been so sweet and cuddly that night.
“And you shared the bed?” Rosa asked.
“I made myself a little bed on the floor.” Y/N said and Rosa glanced to Vy.
“I don’t think she slept in it.”
“Me neither.” Vy grinned and Y/N groaned again as they teased her.
“You two are making a whole lot of nothing into something.” Y/N warned.
“Oh please, Harry has had a crush on you for ages!” Vy said and Y/N shook her head.
“Whatever. The point is that we’re good now.”
“Real good, if you asked me.” Rosa smirked suggestively.
“Well good thing I’m not asking.” Y/N jabbed back making the girls laugh softly.
“We’re just teasing you. It’s just cute how you get all flustered when he’s being all sweet and soft with you. And well, it’s sweet to also watch him with you, it’s like you can do no wrong.” Vy said and Rosa nodded along in endearment.
“He is rather sweet when he’s all soft like that.” Y/N admitted, “He really is so fucking sweet, he just needed a minute to get acclimated, you know?” She said and they nodded in understanding.
“Well, I’m glad that it all worked out.” Rosa said with a smile.
“I still choose to believe there’s something going on.” Vy hummed.
“You keep telling yourself that, Vy.” Y/N giggled.
**************
Harry was really anxious to get back to LA; he felt that he had been gone too long. It had been over a month that he’d been gone and he missed Y/N like crazy. He had talked to his family all about Y/N, he was extremely sweet on her and when Harry was fancying anyone he was just above and beyond adoring with that person.  His mum had expressed to him that it was great to see him that way because she hadn’t seen it in a while; after his last relationship ended Harry had kind of stopped dating and just gave himself a break from love, he just hooked up with people. She did appreciate Y/N fretting over him in that video of him at the sand dunes and she even said that it was good that the person he liked was looking out for him like that. All in all, he was more than confident in pursuing more with Y/N.
Currently, he was texting with Julie, plotting a little romantic dinner for he and Y/N when he got back. He would likely see her at the shop first, but he wanted her to be surprised when afterwards they immediately went off to have a nice and quiet evening alone. He was eager to get back to her and back to LA, he felt reinvigorated; he never intended on staying in London for so long, but it really helped him get back into the groove and to regain the confidence he had lost with how slow things had been for him in LA. He was able to see a walk-in from LA who had actually been wanting to get tattooed by him and had no idea of his relocation, he just happened to be on vacation, but now that he knew that Harry was in LA he assured that he would recommend him to friends and also get in touch to brainstorm on a big back piece the guy had been wanting to do. This was very thrilling and he just felt like things were finally looking up.
**********
Y/N had literally been counting down the days and today was the day that Harry would be back. The longer she was working in the shop the less she needed to start coming in so much earlier than everyone else as she mastered the tasks better. She had found ways to speed up set up in the mornings and typically turned up at 9am now, but she knew Harry was an early bird so she showed up around 8:30 on this particular day and decided to design pieces while she waited for him to arrive. It was nearing 9:15 when she heard the back door open and she perked up.
“Baby?” She heard Harry’s voice and she shot out of the stool and rushed to the entrance meeting him right by the lounge and he dropped his bag down as she rushed into his arms. Her legs circled his hips as he spun them around a few times before she grabbed his face and kissed him deeply.
“I missed you. So. Fucking. Much.” She said between kisses and he smiled against her lips.
“Missed you too, baby.” He said before blindly sliding his bag into the lounge with his foot and walking them over to the counter and setting her on it as they parted for a moment to take each other in after so long. She immediately smiled as she took in the little clip on the top of his head holding his hair in place. He’d done it before, but it looked so long now.
“Your hair’s getting long…” She cooed, “And look at this!” She giggled as she ran her thumb around his mouth to feel his rather full mustache and slightly sparser beard on his chin and jaw.
“Forgot my electric razor and I didn’t see the point in buying a new one, but I know it needs to go s-”
“Mmmm, it doesn’t have to…” she said with a small smile, “I’m kinda digging the mustache.” She said before biting on her lip and he grinned.
“Really?” He asked in slight shock and she nodded, thumbing over it again.
“S’kinda hot. In like a dilf-y kinda way.” She said lowly and he chuckled.
“If you really like it I can keep it for a while. Gets a lot thicker than this.” He said and she smirked.
“Say “it gets a lot thicker than this” again.” She teased and he rolled his eyes at her teasing, “Please, daddy?” She whispered with a grin and he groaned and kissed her hard before breaking the kiss dramatically.
“Not the time nor the place.” He warned her lowly as his hands slithered up her thighs. He loved how she was playing with the curls at the back of his head, he missed that a lot.
“Sorry, sorry…” she hummed, “But can you kiss me again?” She asked and he smiled.
“Course I can.” He whispered before dipping down again and capturing her lips against his. Like always, they got lost in their kiss and were consumed with the things they felt for each other as if the entire world was created just for them two to exist in it. The taste of his tongue against hers and the scent of his cologne and himself were all like a vortex that dragged Y/N away from reality. It was the same for him, everything about her was like a siren song to him, he had tunnel vision when he was around her and he couldn’t care less, especially when they had been apart for a more than a month at this point. It was absolute bliss to be in her arms once again. To feel her lips on his. To-
“Well, good morning to you two!” They heard an enthusiastic greeting and Harry immediately pulled his lips from Y/N, but her body close, their hearts were beating hard and fast at the scare as they both turned their heads towards the door and saw a smirking Vy leaning against the doorframe.
“Jesus, Vy-” Harry started, but she was quick to interrupt him.
“I knew something was going on!” She laughed pointing to Y/N who groaned in embarrassment as Vy laughed, “Rosa and I were grilling her about you the other day.” She said to Harry.
“You guys need to stay in your lane.” Harry grinned and Vy scoffed.
“The lounge is everyone’s lane, you two.” She winked and Harry rolled his eyes again as she came in further as Harry helped Y/N down from the counter.
“Please keep this to yourself until we figure this out, Vy.” Harry pleaded lowly.
“Of course. I love secrets.” She hummed with a grin as she put her bag in one of the lockers and Y/N giggled. Harry hugged Y/N from behind as she reached up to the cupboard to get the coffee grounds to make a kettle of coffee. Vy walked past them to the leave the lounge with a smug smile.
“You may proceed you little horn-balls.” She teased and Y/N laughed as Harry flipped her the bird and Vy cackled as she walked out.
“Quick, a bit more before everyone else shows up.” He said as he flipped her around and their lips met in a few playful kisses until they heard the heavy back door opening up and he hurried to grab his bag from the wall by the entrance of the lounge where he had kicked it to. Y/N continued setting up the coffee maker and soon Rosa was shrieking with excitement as she stepped in and saw Harry putting his bag in a locker.
“Harry!” She cheered with joy and hurried over to hug him and he chuckled as he hugged her back.
“Rosa, great to see you.” Harry greeted her and she smiled brightly.
“H, the amount of girls who have come back for more walk-ins asking for you…” she said and he shook his head.
“Fuck that, tell ‘em I’m taken.” He said and her eyes widened.
“Wait. What?! You’re taken?!” She asked in shock and he chuckled nervously, just realizing his blunder as Y/N bit her lip and continued with the coffee.
“Like tell them that I am to ward them off, you know?” He recovered quickly and Y/N held back her laughter as best as she could.
“Oh! Yeah, good thinking. I wear a fake wedding ring when I go out sometimes.” She confessed and he hummed.
“Hmmm…maybe I’ll shift one of my rings over.” He mused and she nodded before she walked over to Y/N and hugged her from behind.
“Hey, girl!”
“Hey, Rosa.” Y/N smiled, leaning her head against Rosa’s as she rested her chin against Y/N’s shoulder, “Want some coffee?” She asked.
“Yes, please.” She said and let go, “G pulled up when I was coming in, so add some for him too.” Rosa informed and Y/N hummed in understanding.
“So Harry, any plans tonight? We should celebrate you coming back, right Y/N?” Rosa said cheerfully and Harry cleared his throat.
“Oh, no plans. Just resting, I’m a bit jet lagged.” He said and Rosa sighed.
“C’mon, H! At least dinner!” She insisted, “Tell him, Y/N!” Rosa said, hoisting herself up onto the counter where Harry had settled Y/N on not even ten minutes prior.
“Yeah, that would be nice, H. We can all go out to eat with Eddie too.” She said and Rosa smiled wide.
“Yeah! Exactly! OK, let me catch Vy real quick, she always knows the best places to eat!” Rosa said and rushed out of the lounge.
“Baby,” Harry said coming up to Y/N, “I don’t want to go out with everyone tonight.” He said lowly and she turned to him as he leaned on the counter beside her.
“Come on, everyone’s so excited to have you back!” She said with a hopeful smile and he groaned.
“I’m tired and I would rather it be just us tonight.” He said quietly.
“Well after dinner we can go to yours or mine and spend the evening together? They just want to do something nice, H.” She insisted again and he groaned and decided to just say it.
“Baby, I have plans for us tonight.” He said lowly and she turned to him with a small smile.
“Oh.”
“Yeah, it was supposed to be our first date. I don’t want to reschedule. It was supposed to be a surprise but that’s ruined now.” He said bitterly and she tutted.
“Oh, we can get out of this. Just go out and tell ‘em you’re super jet lagged and we can do it on Friday or something.” She said he nodded.
“Right. I’ll be back… but if Rosa pouts we might be moving our first date, she’s really convincing with that pout, makes me feel so bad.” He huffed.
“I’ll beat her up.” Y/N joked and he chuckled before heading out of the lounge. Thankfully, Vy had his back and said she actually couldn’t do tonight, she probably knew that he wanted to do something with Y/N first. She agreed when he suggested they go out on Friday and that was that. When Harry went back into the lounge G and Y/N were chatting as they always were and he greeted G with a big hug as well.
“My, my so affectionate.” G teased and Harry tutted as he pulled away.
“It’s just been a while, OK?” He mumbled lowly and G shot a knowing grin to Y/N who was already smirking. She was about to join in on teasing Harry when they heard the back door swing open and Eddie’s loud and cheerful voice resonating through the shop.
“Good morning, artists!” This made Y/N smile and she turned around, seeing him walking in with a big box of pastries, “Oh, look at you all!” He said excitedly as he set the things down.
“Hey, Eddie.” G smiled as they hugged briefly.
“Hey, mate!” Eddie smiled excitedly and then he turned to Y/N, “And look at you! You look more grown, I hope Harry hasn’t been stressing you out too much.” He joked as he stepped forward and Y/N hugged him as well.
“Not anymore.” She joked and Eddie chuckled.
“He hasn’t been mean or a grouch, has he?” Eddie asked with a grin and Y/N glanced over to Harry who was also grinning.
“Not recently.” She said with a giggle and they both glanced over to Harry, who shook his head at her.
“I’m a god damned dream and you know it.” He pointed at her and she laughed quietly.
“More like a walking nightmare.” G muttered making them all chuckle at Harry’s expense. He didn’t take offense to it, he knew that he could be grumpy and moody, and now that G was kind of a friend and Y/N was well…more than that, it didn’t bug him to get called out as much.
“Well, I’m glad to know LA hasn’t changed him.” Eddie said, “Now, I want to see what you’ve been working on and added to your portfolio.” Eddie said to Y/N and she nodded eagerly.
“Yeah, c’mon I’ll show you!” She said with excitement and they headed out of the lounge to her station. Harry followed behind them, eager to hear what Eddie thought. They were looming over her station as she pulled out the portfolio of her work when Harry walked up beside Eddie.
“And the master joins the pupil.” He said to Harry with a smile.
“I think she’s the master, Ed.” Harry said and Eddie’s eyebrows raised.
“Oh really?” He hummed in excitement as she blushed a bit.
“Here, you can look through these.” She said handing him the folder with her bigger and newer designs. Eddie was rather impressed as he flipped through it. Vy came up as he looked through everything.
“Fuck, you’re really good.” He said as he started getting to the end of the folder, “Soon you’re gonna be tattooing artists too.” He chuckled.
“Welp, that one’s already been crossed off the bucket list actually.” Vy spoke up and Eddie glanced to her before quickly looking to Y/N who scoffed.
“Coloring in your flowers doesn’t; count, Vy.” Y/N sniggered.
“I wasn’t talking about my touch ups, I was talking about Harry! That’s his thigh on that page there, is it not?” Vy said and Eddie glanced to Harry, whose cheeks were now going pink.
“Really? No fucking way! You only get tattooed by Chri-”
“Well, the artist had a cool design.” He shrugged interrupting Eddie.
“That’s sick, mate.” Eddie said with a smile and turned to Y/N.
“How’d he take it?” He asked with a grin.
“Like a champ.” She assured with a smile, “It was my first big one so it took me a little longer than it would now, but he sat through it, was really patient with me-”
“I almost cried at the end. I looked down.” He said to Eddie and Vy who chuckled, “but she’s really good. Very pleasant to get tattooed by, wouldn’t mind having another round with her.” He hummed with a smile and briefly glanced to Y/N who was just buzzing to hear this.
“That’s great to hear! And I mean… if H got tattooed by you and he’d do it again I think that you’re ready for whatever gets put in front of you.” Eddie said and her smile dropped.
“Wait. W-what?” She stammered.
“I think he’s trying to tell you that you can tattoo whatever you want now.” Harry said with a small smile, his eyes, so full of pride, met her own.
“Oh my god…” she said softly as the news soaked in, “OH MY GOD!” She then shouted in excitement and hugged Eddie who laughed happily and hugged her back.
“You’re so fucking good, you have to know that. We can talk more about what milestones you need to accomplish in this next phase, but at the rate you’re going I think we can have you as a full-time artist by the summer.” He assured her and she bit her lip back to suppress the huge smile that wanted to break out on them.
“Holy shit…Well, thanks to Harry for all his help and guidance.” She said to Eddie and glanced to Harry who shook his head at her.
“S’all you, love. I just gave you a few tips.” He assured and she sighed in satisfaction.
“Thank you so much, Eddie. For everything. For ummm, taking a chance on me.” She sighed happily.
“Darling, I knew you were worth the wait.” He assured her and she wanted to cry and just inhaled sharply. She felt so giddy and tingly all over, she wanted to scream and laugh and cheer because her dream had just come true. Sure, she wasn’t a full-time artist yet, but she was good enough that she was given the green light to tattoo whatever pieces she wanted and that was a huge deal.
“Well, if you guys don’t mind I have to make a call to my aunt.” She said and Eddie smiled.
“You go on ahead.” He assured her and she grabbed her phone from her station and slipped out to the back to call her aunt.
She was just catching her breath for a few seconds, letting it all sink in when the door opened and she saw Harry peek his head out and she smiled when their eyes met and she signaled him over with a movement of her head and he slipped out and immediately hugged her tight and she started to cry tears of joy.
“Oh baby,” He soothed her quietly, “I’m so proud of you.” He praised as he squeezed her tight.
“I can’t believe this.” She sniffled as she unburied her face from his chest and glanced up to him.
“I can. You’re fucking brilliant, baby.” He said with a smile and reached up to carefully dab her tears away with his hoodie sleeves.
“Hardly.” She chuckled through her crying and he shook his head at her modesty, “This has been my dream. It’s all I’ve ever wanted to do and I’m just so happy that I’m so fucking close.” She sighed contently and he kissed her forehead.
“I just see the way you work and how much you love it, like you were born to do this, Y/N. I can’t picture you doing anything else and I saw that from the day I started working with you. I know I gave you a bit of a hard time every now and again, but well, we’ve covered that before…” he said a bit bashfully and she smiled.
“Thank you, H. For all the feedback and your help and advice, I couldn’t have made it this far without you. Seriously.” She shook her head and he tutted.
“Oh please… you would’ve been perfectly fine. You have the the innate skills as an artist.” He said and she smiled.
“Well that may be, but I wouldn’t be where I am now if it weren’t for you and everything we’ve been through.” She said and he bit on his lip as she spoke, “You make me push myself and aim higher! You make me want to be better and I love that.” She smiled and he just leaned in and kissed her gently.
“You make me want to be better too.” He said against her lips, “But you make me want to be better in every way possible and I… love that too.” He confessed and with tearful eyes she tiptoed to connect their lips once again in a passionate and emotional kiss. Just when Y/N thought she couldn’t feel any happier, Harry would always come in and challenge that. Her heart felt so fulfilled as smiles overtook their lips, making their kiss a little messy, but it wasn’t really an issue as they made some space between them.
“Oh, I need to call my aunt!” She said and Harry nodded, allowing her to pull her phone from her back pocket before she dialed Julie, putting the call on speaker phone so that Harry could hear too. It rung a few times before she picked up the call.
“Hello to my favorite niece!” Julie sang and Y/N smiled along with Harry upon hearing this.
“Hey, I’m here with Harry. I’ve got some news.” She chirped and immediately her aunt started screaming in joy and Y/N laughed, “What’re you screaming about? I haven’t even said anything yet!” Y/N laughed and Harry did too as Julie stopped.
“I’m just assuming he finally asked you to be his girlfriend and I got carried away.” She laughed.
“Yeah, not yet.” He said and Y/N narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously.
“Yet?” She asked and Harry smiled and nodded.
“Yeah, it’ll come.” He said.
“Hopefully before I die of old age?” Julie said and they both chuckled.
“Yeah, don’t worry.” He said and they all laughed.
“OK, well what’s the big news?” Julie questioned.
“I can tattoo whatever I want now! So if you want your piece done-”
“Oh my goooood!” Julie cheered happily before Y/N could even finish and she and Harry laughed as Julie whooped and congratulated her on reaching a new milestone, “Yes! I definitely want to have you work on my tattoo! When can you officially start?” She asked after settling down a bit.
“Eddie’s in town, so I assume he might just do some observing this week to ensure that I have sufficient mastery over the techniques I’ve been learning?” She glanced to Harry in question and he nodded to confirm that, that was a very likely scenario, “So maybe a week or two?”
“Oh my god, OK! Yes, whenever, you let me know.” Julie confirmed and Harry draped his arm over Y/N’s shoulder and pulled her into his side.
“Thank you so much for helping me and supporting me with this, Julie. You have no idea how much it means to me that you’re going to be the first large piece I get to do.” She sniffled as her eyes welled up with tears again and Harry kissed her head for a little bit of comfort. He knew what this meant to her and it was absolutely amazing that both she and Julie were going to have this opportunity.
“I told you I would be around for when you got to tattoo.” Julie said with pride and this made Y/N’s lip quiver, “I love you, kiddo. And I am so fucking proud of you.” She said and Y/N sniffled once more before speaking.
“Thank you, I love you too. I just wanted to share the news.”
“Thank for sharing, you made my day.” Julie responded, “I’ll see you two later at the house?” She asked.
“Briefly. I am going to whisk her away for the evening.” Harry cut in and Julie cooed.
“Awww, so first date is tonight?”
“Yeah, thanks by the way for your help.” He said and Y/N glanced at him in shock and he grinned at her.
“Anything to make my favorite niece happy. Well, I’ll see you guys later, OK?”
“See you!”, “See you later!” Y/N and Harry chimed in.
“Yep! Love you guys, bye!” Julie signed off and then they hung up the phone and Harry was grinning like he’d just been given a blue ribbon or something.
“What?” Y/N asked with a giggle .
“She said “Love you guys”, which means she loves me, right?” He asked and Y/N giggled.
“I supposed she does. Don’t take that lightly.” Y/N warned and Harry shook his head.
“Oh, absolutely not!” He smiled as he looked into her eyes.
They were both thinking the same exact thing - that they loved each other. It had been months of their slowly growing relationship and despite the initial challenges of it all they were drawn to each other at am impressive rate, like magnets who so obviously belong together and are drawn together regardless of any barriers in their paths. It was on the tip of her tongue, telling Harry that she loved him too, it wasn’t just a Julie thing. She felt that her whole heart was bursting with everything she felt for him, she didn’t know how much more she could take before she exploded. And well, Harry knew what he felt but he was still a bit afraid to say it. The pain of his past had scarred him sufficiently to make him be more cautious with expressing an emotion as big and complex as love.  But it was unmistakable that, that’s what he indeed felt for Y/N. With every glance, every smile, every touch, every kiss, every precious and perfectly mundane second they spent together made the feeling grow and grow exponentially and it felt so good but so scary at the same time. Like when you’re doing something risky, you feel so invincible for doing it, but you are aware that one wrong move and you could be pretty damaged for a while.
“What?” She asked as he continued to look into her eyes and he shook his head.
“Nothing. I’m just so proud of you and I’m so happy for you. You really deserve this one.” He hummed before hugging her close again, “So I was thinking that after we go on our date you can stay the night?” He asked and he felt her nod into his chest.
“Yeah.” She confirmed and he smiled.
“OK. So we can go our separate ways after work and get cleaned up a bit and then I can pick you up?” He suggested.
“Yeah, that sounds good. Now how fancy are we going?” She asked.
“It’s not fancy at all actually. I mean, you can go fancy if you want, but you don’t have to.” He assured.
“OK. I’ll wear a nice top.” She said and he chuckled.
“OK, then I will too.” He agreed and she giggled as he wrapped her up in a big bear hug, “I missed holding you.” He hummed as he squeezed just a little bit more and she smiled.
“I missed you squishing me.” She hummed happily, “You’re so warm and you smell like heaven. Hadn’t seen you in person for so long I even forgot how hot you are.” She complimented him and he was soaking up her praises and compliments easily with a grin on his face.
“You forgot? I could never forget…” he said and she smiled.
“I mean to say that it’s far more striking in person, your attractiveness.” She said and he chuckled.
“Yeah, that is true… for you too, by the way.” He teased and she rolled her eyes at his playfulness but then she inhaled deeply and relaxed in his hold.
“Wish we could stay like this all day.” She whispered. He barely heard it, but the words made his skin raise with goosebumps as he too felt that being with her like this, alone, feeling her tucked against his body, it was absolutely perfect.

So I've spent the past like, two weeks, trying to dissect with my partner what exactly is making 13's first season so... uninteresting and even just bad to us. And today I've finally figured it out!
Obviously just my opinions, disclaimer I've only watched up to the end of Spyfall, this is not intended as hate but rather criticism, and you are completely free to disagree or just ignore the whole post..
I'm going to put this under a cut in order to not take up the whole dash. Topics: The Doctor's autism, and the dynamics between 13 and her companions. So, let's start!
The failure to characterize 13 consistently with past incarnations, especially in regards to the Doctor's naturally rebellious nature and extremely visible autism.
As someone who's autistic, the very very consistent autistic traits in the Doctor are always extremely obvious. And for an incarnation written with that in mind, you'd think that it would be consistent, right?
But here's where something major about the Doctor is missing: so far, as of the end of Spyfall part 2, I have rarely seen 13 engage extensively with her special interests. The only examples I can think of are when she meets Rosa Parks, visits Kerblam!, and when she meets the Solitract.
The Doctor has a strong tendency to get so caught up in their special interests that they basically will not shut up about it when it comes up, often rambling without fully checking if someone is actually listening. I... feel like I rarely see 13 do it that much? Sure, she's happy to explain things when she's asked, and she clearly has special interests, the sheer prevalence it should have in how she engages with the world is just... not really there.
The lack of it makes it feel like her character is missing something major, and was hard to put together that it was this specifically that was bothering me. I can think of a million examples of each Doctor respectively engaging with their special interests near constantly, but it feels like it's hardly there for 13 in comparison.
As for her rebellious nature, 13 has so far been remarkably passive about capitalistic crimes. I'm sure we all remember her and Kerblam!. And the spiders in the hotel. You would expect the Doctor to challenge the systems that caused those respective problems, encourage the people in those systems to fix it, but she just sort of... doesn't.
She doesn't care the warehouse employees have to save up miniscule wages just to see their family once a year, that they're tracked and constantly under threat of losing what little income they have, that even though society has progressed so this can all be automated, the powers that be are not adapting with that to provide basic necessities to the public, and instead are telling everyone they're lucky if they get to be indentured to Kerblam!. The Doctor stops a man from committing terrorism (because all protesters of these systems are also serial killer terrorists, clearly), and then doesn't stop to deal with the root cause. She just tells him he's wrong, is satisfied the company will hire more humans (put more people in the meat grinder), and leaves.
The spiders episode is a whole thing, focusing more on the side effects of the actual problem, which is capitalist businessmen cutting corners for profit and ignoring regulations, and getting away with it. The message of the episode at the end comes out as "you shouldn't actively kill any living thing for any reason", citing trapping the spiders in a room to die as more humane. But I would strongly disagree.
The humane thing to do for those spiders, who were mutated, suffering, and having a negative impact on both the local spiders and humans, would have been to swiftly kill them. The Doctor cares more about not feeling bad about killing the spiders than the system that made this happen in the first place, or ending their suffering, which feels wildly out of character.
2. The companions don't feel like they have a lot going on, and lack the kind of strange connection past companions have.
So, Graham Ryan and Yaz are all kind of just boring. I see the dynamics and relationships they're supposed to have with each other, but none of it feels compelling. I don't feel any connection to them.
At first, I thought that it was because Chibnall introduced three companions in the first episode. It's definitely a contribution, since having to introduce four major characters compared to one or two isn't the easiest thing to do. But it's possible.
Torchwood introduces six characters to us at the start: five members of Torchwood 3, and Gwen. Every single character feels distinctive, they have clashing personalities that also bounce of each other. The introduction feels great, and you can immediately watch their characters develop and change over the course of the first season.
The Doctor and the Fam? I literally cannot tell you distinctive personality traits about each of them besides basic vibes. It took until Spyfall for them to start feeling distinct. I can't tell you major flaws, major anything. I can barely describe their respective relationships to the Doctor, besides "weird friend with the time machine we know nothing about."
The single thing portrayed as a flaw in the Doctor is that she doesn't like talking about herself unprompted. They don't know a lot about her, but in her defence, they barely ask.
Past companions in New Who always have some strange relationship with the Doctor. Rose is having a situationship with him after he blew up her workplace, and has complex feelings about how travelling with him affects her life at home. Martha is having this weird situation where he's using her to fill the gap left by Rose, while trying to keep his distance, and Martha is just trying to figure out how the fuck to get him to look at her as her own person. Donna decided she wanted more in life, and by god was she going to grab the Doctor and take it, assigning herself his new best friend.
Amy met the Doctor as a child, obsessed over him for 14 years, ran away with him before her wedding, and then dragged Rory along, and ended up with the weirdest family dynamics possible. Rory isn't sure how to feel about the Doctor, and the two of them for some reason take turns being the "mature" one. Clara is overly dedicated to him and deeply enjoys the power trip that comes along with having time travel.
I can't speak about Bill or Nardole, because I haven't actually met them, but I know there's some kind of dynamic going on there.
The point is, every individual has some kind of distinctive and very strange relationship with the Doctor, from the very start. Friends, but something else. Romantically interested in each other, but dancing around that boundary. The 13th Doctor has absolutely nothing strange or compelling with hers so far.
Like, I could think of at least some with what we have! 13 decides Graham is her grandson, because Ryan and Yaz have a grandparent figure, but Graham doesn't, and then extends that to Ryan with deciding to be a great-great-grandparent figure to him.
At least in her first season, she doesn't seem opposed at all to a relationship with Yaz. The Doctor is notoriously weird about relationships. If Yaz panicked and told her mom that she was dating the Doctor, the Doctor could just roll with it and now Apparently They're Dating ???. It could be so fun! But there just... isn't anything!
Maybe it gets better in her second season onwards, but these kinds of things should be established fairly quickly. Like, at least halfway through the first series. I genuinely hoped her first season would be better on a rewatch, because I watched it while it was airing, and dropped the show after because I was just so not into it. I shouldn't have to be doing this much work to make it interesting to me! I shouldn't be enjoying early Moffat Who more than this!
Anyways if you read all this, I am very happy to hear thoughts and counterpoints, just please don't send me hate anons :)

more misc. thoughts about my sghr apple of my eye series + some timeskip of the whole cast when they’re all adults! can be spoilery, if you squint hard enough
arven probably has a charcadet (since i think penny, who was also a loner like arven, befriended one at the academy?) who helps him cook or toast food. it’d probably be one of his most cherished pokemon, alongside mabosstiff.
if it did evolve, it’d also be an armarouge instead of a ceruludge because it was treated with love! and care!!! he'd also get auspicious armor instead of malicious armor since he wants to protect his little buddy as best as he can, especially after mabosstiff got really hurt in area zero.
still on the topic of arven. he would probably either run a small restaurant that's extremely popular with the locals but is otherwise completely unknown to everyone else (ex. tourists) OR a private chef. if he was a private chef, he'd probably be hired by someone like nemona (when she's running the paldean league after geeta retires) or kieran (since his job makes him very busy)
kieran also got more into the competitive pokemon scene as he got older, and eventually become one of the champions of unova! usually only one person is supposed to have the title, but since kieran and rosa (protag from black/white 2, uses she/he) kept challenging each other every week and swapping around the position like a game of hot potato, the league kinda just. compromised and made them both champions instead. so they share the workload! (they still battle very often just for the sake of being the Official Champion, though.)
also kieran loves talking about his partner (florian). rosa is sick and Tired of it and it makes her even more Determined beat kieran because he literally won’t shut up (also rosa has zekrom. because I played b2.)
florian's a bit of a weird case since they don't exactly have a "job," persay; ever since they graduated from uva academy, they've been traveling across the other regions to study and document pokemon behaviors and also discover himself! most of their expenses are covered by doing odd jobs or seasonal work while they’re traveling (kieran offered to send him some money every month since they’re “married” but florian refused)
and yes. the first couple years of sghr's relationship is long distance! mostly because kieran's still attending blueberry academy and florian's still going to uva. they try to meet up at least once a year, though that gets more difficult when they graduate and do their Adult Things/Jobs (kieran has to stay in unova while florian constantly feels super restless if he stays in one place/region for too long)
eventually, they both get sick of the distance and compromise (because they're both still really clingy); kieran retires from the competitive scene to travel with florian while florian has to stay in a region for at least a few years while they rent out an apartment.
florian also makes a slightly more stable income! he mostly publishes articles about his pokemon discoveries and research, which are usually related to shinies. they got acquainted with a bunch of other scholars over the past few years from chatting on forums and his previous research papers about pokemon.

Day 2 - Deafening Shriek
Hi everyone, this is Day 2 of write a short story everyday for a month challenge. I'm having a good time writing so far, but i must warn that this story tackles a pretty heavy subject. So if it's too much for you, then I hope to see you again next time when I have something more lighthearted to share.
Trigger Warning: Transphobia
Deafening Shriek
She wasn’t ready for this, and she couldn’t even comprehend how true that was. Rosa held her girlfriend, Stacy’s hand as they both stood at the door. Just being in front of Stacy’s house was enough to make Rosa’s heart collide with her chest in a futile effort to escape. Rosa Gulped and took a deep breath, trying to stop the shakes she was having from the thought of meeting Stacy’s parents for the first time.
This wasn’t like her ex-girlfriends, Stacy’s dad had a notorious meltdown after learning his daughter was trans. Stacy told her that he had destroyed most of her girl clothes when she first came out, her father insisting that Stacy “Be a man and stop crying!” But this was all well before Rosa had even met her.
I can’t believe she still has to live with this asshole. Rosa Thought. I don’t care how much Stacy says her dad got better, he better not explode and act like a maniac.
As the door opened, Rosa focused on Stacy, on how the interior light flooded her pale face, the black tips of her blonde hair fading into the darkness of night behind her. But the light over her was quickly enveloped by the shadow of the old, fat man in the doorframe.
Ronald’s eyes were wandering, studying every inch of Rosa like she was a science experiment, his glossy gaze making her take a step back. His wife, Susan stepped out in front of him and welcomed the girls inside.
“Please, please, come in!” Susan cried. “It’s so good to finally meet you.”
Ronald scoffed, “So, you’re real after all.” He then gave Stacy a pat on the back that’s noticeably too firm. “Good on you pipsqueak. And here I thought a woman wouldn’t want ya.” He then unleashed a grotesque burp that reeked of whiskey.
Rosa reluctantly said, “It’s a Pleasure to meet you both. Stacy talks a lot about you.” her voice warbled as she spoke, biting her lip so as to not make a face.
They continued to speak as Susan escorted them to the dining room, where she had just laid out a freshly prepared roast beef, baked potatoes with sauteed onions and homemade garlic bread topped with broccoli rabe.
The meal went swimmingly at first, Ronald kept his mouth shut while Susan spoke to Rosa and Stacy about starting their final year at university.
But then, Stacy said, “I’m not sure I can do both semesters this year. Someone needs to stay here and take care of you after your surgery.”
Susan brushes her off, “Oh, nonsense. I can handle myself.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t hear anything about you having a surgery” Rosa said, her tone soft and slow, her eyes focused on Susan as if she were having the surgery at this very moment.
Susan smiled, “Oh, It’s nothing, really. I just need to wear a catheter after I’m done. The doctor told me that after the surgery, I’ll have to wear it along my leg. I asked him if I should wear a sundress and then he just started laughing.” She herself began laughing retelling these events. “He told me, You know, after all these years, no one has asked me that, not a one. But, It’s a good question. You certainly don’t want to wear those pants, or else everyone would think you’re a man!” Ronald joined in on her laughter, but of course the girls stayed silent.
Stacy was looking down on her lap, using her hands to tug on her skirt a bit, clearly embarrassed by her parents. Rosa, on the other hand, was fuming, but she tried to contain herself. What jerks! Rosa thought. They seriously think they can talk like that in front of their trans daughter! The sheer fucking audacity of them!
Ronald picked up on this and sneered, “Hey, what’s your problem? My wife just told a funny story.”
“There’s nothing funny about it!” Rosa Barked. “Don’t you see how this is making your daughter feel?”
Ronald drunkenly unleashed his sarcasm, “If it bothers Stacy So much, then he’s welcome to man up and do something about it!”
Rosa rose from her seat, her fists clenched by her side as her swift motion sent the chair banging against the wall behind her. “What’s your problem!? You know that you’re hurting your daughter and you’re not doing anything to change!? Do you even feel remorse?”
Ronald also rose from his chair, raising his voice to be as loud and booming as the fat man could muster. “What’s my problem?! What’s your problem?! No one is complaining! No one but you, you savior complex psycho!”
Rosa grimaced at him. “Just because people don’t complain, that doesn’t mean that they feel safe enough to express it!”
“Safe?! You think a man can’t keep his family safe!?”
“You’re the one they need to be safe from!”
“I didn’t invite you here just to be lectured by some dumb college kid!”
“Well, maybe if you went to college, you’d learn to treat the people around you better!”
“No, it wouldn’t! It’d just turn me into a constantly angry bitch just like… like…” Ronald began to grab at his chest, his posture losing the angered determination and replaced with an uneasy wooziness. “Like…”
Susan and Stacy both stared at Ronald like they knew a train was about to crash and they desperately wanted the other to stop it, but Rosa, still filled with vigor, was going to continue to berate Ronald until she recognized what was happening, stopping herself before Ronald collapsed onto the floor, his head hitting the table on the way down.
Susan ranted like a scream queen, rushing over to her husband to check on him. Stacy just sat in her chair, her hands shaking like crazy as she reached out to them, “D-Dad…”
With rivers flowing down her eyes, Susan turned back at Rosa and shrieked, “What are you waiting for?! Call the ambulance!”
Rosa did just that. The dinner came to an abrupt end as Ronald had a heart attack. Luckily for him, the ambulance didn’t take long to arrive and they carried him all the way to the hospital.
Later that night, Stacy sat outside Ronald’s hospital room, with Rosa there, not having said a single word since she called the hospital.
When Rosa finally tried to speak, she was interrupted by Stacy, “Just… Just stop. Don't you think you’ve said enough?”
Rosa softly said, “I’m sorry, I was just standing up for you.”
Stacy bitterly said, “I Don’t need saving. I know how they are, and I’m saving up so that I can move out, but that doesn’t mean I want him dead, Rosa.”
Rosa held her hand, “I’m sorry. But you can’t just let them walk all over you either. Maybe we can find a way to compromise with them.”
Stacy sighs, “I don’t know… I need to think things over”
Stacy forced her hand away from Rosa’s and walked off towards the bathroom. Rosa tried to follow her into the women’s room, but Stacy said, “Please, Rosa. I just need some time alone. I’ve had enough of people neglecting my feelings for one night. So , If you want this relationship to work, then go home and we can talk about how we can express our feelings better, ok?”
Rosa’s tears lightly flowed down her face, she didn’t say a word as she simply nodded, a simple gesture to show that she respected her girlfriend’s feelings and boundaries. She turned back and went home, eagerly awaiting for Stacy to call her back.

TIMING: february 24, 2017. FEATURING: rosa cortez, juliana cortez, elena cortez, and the grand first appearance of flora cortez. LOCATION: emilio's living room and bedroom in mexico. SUMMARY: emilio gets a pep talk from his sister just before being thrust into fatherhood. CONTENT WARNINGS: none!
24 FEBRUARY 2017.
The living room was relatively small, comparatively speaking. It took Emilio twenty steps to pace from one wall to the other. Less if he lengthened his stride. He’d gotten it down to twelve once, with steps so wide it was a little embarrassing. He did it in seventeen now, shuffling the last one as he took a breath. One hand came up to his head, tangling in his hair as he glanced to the bedroom door.
The door to the outside opened, sunlight streaming in behind Rosa as she stepped in and shut the door behind her. She looked taken aback to see him there, crossing the room to meet him in the middle with eight long steps. He wondered, absently, if she could pace the length of the living room in less than twelve, if this, too, was something she was better at. He pushed the thought aside. Stupid. It was stupid. Everything seemed so stupid.
“What are you doing out here, Milio? Did something…?” She glanced to the bedroom door, and he shook his head quickly.
“Everything’s okay, I think. ‘Ana just kicked me out. Said I was stressing her out more than the rest of it.”
Rosa snorted. “I’d believe it. You were bad enough with me when it was Jaime. Can’t imagine how much worse you are now.”
“I forgot it was like that. Looks more like a battlefield.”
“No it doesn’t.” Rosa’s smile was small, sly. “You’d know what to do on a battlefield.”
Emilio snorted, some of the tension leaving his chest because Rosa was good at that. They didn’t always get along — that was the nature of siblings, he knew, especially siblings in such constant competition with one another — but when they did, his sister always knew exactly what to say to tame the tangled web of his thoughts. Better than Edgar did, better than Victor had ever gotten a chance to try. The only one who might challenge her for top spot in the game of knowing how to settle Emilio’s uneasy mind was Rhett, and the warden wasn’t here now.
Gently, Rosa nudged his shoulder with hers. “You should go in.”
“She kicked me out,” Emilio reminded her. “She doesn’t want me in there.”
“She does. She’s stressed and in pain and probably a little bit terrified, but she wants you there. She married your dumb ass, didn’t she? She chose to get stuck with you. The rest of us just had you tacked on.” The words stung a little; the teasing was a little too close to the truth, he knew. Emilio, in comparison to his siblings, was unnecessary and often unwanted.
But not to Juliana.
“Any final words of wisdom before I step back into the thick of it?” He raised a brow, smiling faintly and pretending her words didn’t sting, pretending nothing did. Rosa had the good grace to do the same, shrugging a shoulder.
“Don’t let ‘em see the whites of your eyes.”
Nodding to her, Emilio took a deep breath. Ten paces to the bedroom door. His hand hovered over the knob, and he drew another lungful of air before nudging it open.
Juliana was on the bed, a sheen of sweat covering her skin. Her eyes found his across the room, and relief flooded her features. Immediately, the anxiety he’d felt at the door dissipated. “Milio,” she breathed, thrusting out a hand towards him. He walked over to the bed, slipping his hand in hers. She squeezed it so tight he thought his fingers might break.
“One more push,” his mother said from the foot of the bed, methodical. There was no joy in her face; she looked less like a woman helping to deliver her grandchild and more like someone ticking off a checklist of daily chores. Emilio looked away, focusing instead on pushing Juliana’s damp hair away from her forehead.
The pressure on his hand increased momentarily as Juliana pushed, but Emilio hardly noticed it, because with the height of that pressure came a sound. A shrill cry piercing the air, new lungs drawing in oxygen for the first time and releasing it with so much noise that it was almost as if they were protesting.
“A girl,” his mother announced. A weight was shoved into Emilio’s hands; a necessary thing instead of a thoughtful gesture. His mother needed both hands free to finish, and Juliana was still weak from her efforts. Had anyone else been standing in Emilio’s spot, they would have been handed that wriggling mass, too. Had he not reentered the room, the child would have been placed on the floor. That was how it went, he knew. “That’s good. We’ve had more luck with girls, lately.”
His mother’s words struck something in him, some childish sense of accomplishment as if his mother being pleased that his child was a girl was the same as his mother being proud of him for something he’d done intentionally. He looked down at the shape in his arms. She wasn’t crying anymore; dark eyes were blinking up at him, face scrunched up in a way that almost seemed thoughtful.
It felt like being hit by lightning, looking at her for the first time. He put a finger in her tiny hand, and she gripped it with more strength than should have been possible for something so small. He sucked in a breath.
“Call her what you want,” Juliana said from the bed, sounding drained. “I’m going to take a nap. Just don’t make it something stupid, Milio. I’m not calling her Emilia.” He snorted at the suggestion, rolling his eyes.
“Flora,” he said quietly. “I like Flora.”
“Okay,” Juliana agreed. “Flora it is. Flora Emilia Cortez.” He looked over to her, bemused expression on his face, and she shrugged. “I just like the name. It isn’t about you. You’re a little conceited, darling, has anyone ever told you that?”
Rolling his eyes again, he knelt down, letting her take a look. “We did a pretty good job,” he told her quietly.
“We? Which one of us just pushed her out?”
“I helped a little.”
“You can help when she needs potty training. That’s how you pay me back.”
Laughing, he nodded his head. “Okay,” he agreed. “Deal.”

"Well, she doesn't look possessed like she was on Raw, but looks like Morgan is out here." Byron Saxton said on commentary as she walked out with skinny jeans, boots, and a cropped tee that said 'Believe In Morgan'.
"Yep, she backfired her ex, Dean Ambrose, to the shock of the WWE Universe. It's causing a lot of chaos on social media." Tom Phillips said on commentary.
"We heard Sister Abigail is in Morgan's head. Do you think she made Morgan attack Dean?"
"Yes. She was a little reluctant to do so. She looks normal so I don't think Sister Abigail has taken control of her, tonight."
Somebody call my momma comes on as the crowd cheers.
"This Diva's match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Planet Funk, Cameron!" Morgan announced, being the guest ring announcer for the match tonight as the crowd cheered.
Cameron dances her way to the ring and gives her a high five.
Rosa's theme comes on as the crowd boos. Morgan starts to look amused when she sees Rosa wearing black clothing and a vest that stops before her belly button.
"Mind games from Rosa? She's not a member of The Shield." Byron said.
"And last and least, introducing the so called challenger, she is the bitch of The Shield!" Morgan yelled as the crowd cheered. "Rosa Mendes!"
"Excuse me!?" Rosa shouted and marched to the ring to get in her face.
"What are you gonna do? Huh? Hit me." Morgan provoked but Rosa put her hand in her face. She slapped her hand away. "Do not put your hands in my face."
"Uh oh. This isn't good." Tom said as the ref separated them.
"These two hate each other. Rosa was the cause of Dean and Morgan's break up. And as you can see, the crowd is booing Rosa like crazy tonight." Byron said while Morgan got out of the ring.
'Ding Ding Ding'
Rosa begins dancing around the ring as the crowd boos. Morgan decides to spice things up by slowly walking around the ring.
"What are you doing!? Ref! Stop her!" Rosa yelled while the Outspoken Diva smirked in amusement.
Rosa starts to get distracted and Cameron takes advantage by hitting her with a running clothesline. Morgan stands at ringside and watches as Cameron continues to take control and hits Rosa with a few single leg dropkicks. She throws her to the turnbuckle and is about to run towards her but Rosa moves out the way. Cameron falls down and holds her chest while Rosa gets on top of her and starts throwing her head up in down.
"Let's go, Cameron!" Morgan banged on the apron.
"Shut up!" Rosa turned to her and stood up, walking over to the ropes.
"Watch your back." The Outspoken Diva reminded.
Rosa gets turned around by Cameron and gets hit with the Girl Bye! which was a standing tornado DDT. She pins her for the win while Morgan grins and grabs a mic.
"Here is your winner! Cameron!" She announced as the crowd cheered.
Morgan gets into the ring to hug her and raise her hand in victory. Meanwhile, Rosa recovers and glares at Morgan.
"You did this! You made me lose!" Rosa screamed.
"Me? Whatever do you mean? Watch your back, next time." She blew her a kiss and got out of the ring with Cameron.
---------
'Smackdown'
Christian, Daniel Bryan, and Sheamus were in the ring, while The Shield were walking down the steps, through the crowd. Rosa, who was in her little Shield attire, follows them.
"Introducing their opponents, at a combined weight of 707 pounds, accompanied by Rosa Mendes, The United States Champion, Dean Ambrose, along with Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns, The Shield!" Lilian announced.
Morgan tweets 'Lol...um...I don't think Rosa gets the memo that she's not a part of The Shield.'
"John, what about what happened this past Monday night on Raw? Did you feel the tension? And all this week, everyone has been talking about Morgan's sudden attack on Dean Ambrose after she and Bray Wyatt locked eyes. I'm getting a little worried that The Shield may be in hot water at Elimination Chamber because Morgan is now on the Wyatt Family's side." Cole said.
"I agree. But something tells me that Morgan doesn't want this and is trying to find a way out. I thought I saw some reluctance in her body language before she gave Ambrose that backfire." JBL replied as Rosa and The Shield got in the ring.
Rosa grabbed a mic as The Shield's theme faded out.
"What are you doing?" Seth asked but Rosa put a finger up, to tell him to wait a minute as the crowd started to heavily boo her.
"Today is Valentine's Day! And I bet we all have that special someone." Rosa continued while Dean started to space out and think about Morgan. "And then there's the single people, like Dean, and Morgan, who broke up. It wasn't my fault. I didn't do anything wrong. Dean just couldn't resist me. Isn't that right?" she grinned at Ambrose, who shot her an annoyed look.
"Ambrose does not look too happy. It looks like he doesn't want to be reminded of the breakup." Cole commented.
"For this Valentine's Day...I want to call out...Morgan." Rosa announced. "Why? Because she needs an ass kicking. She can't beat me and she never will. You see...Morgan is a coward and that's why she ran to the Wyatts. She came out during MY match and distracted ME! That's an injustice!"
Morgan tweets 'Lol. This is too funny. Where's my popcorn?'
Roman and Seth glanced at each other, wondering why she was even in this ring with them. Rosa kept following them like a lost puppy and maybe it was time to set her straight that she wasn't a part of The Shield.
"Morgan, you bitch!" Rosa yelled as the crowd got hyped.
"Whoa!" JBL exclaimed while all the guys turned their attention to her.
"Did Rosa just do the unthinkable?" Cole asked.
"Get out here, right now!" Rosa yelled.
"She did!"
"Whoa! Cutting right to the chase!" JBL exclaimed.
They wait a few seconds but Morgan doesn't come out as the crowd gets disappointed.
"Oh, I guess she's a coward. All bark but no bite! I knew it-" Rosa said before getting cut off by Ambrose who snapped at her.
"Enough already! Shut up and let's just get this match over with..." he retorted.
The Shield didn't even know why the heck she was with them. Ambrose didn't want her anywhere near him as he continued to regret his actions, missing Morgan.
'Ding Ding Ding'
"Well, that was interesting. Looks like Ambrose was defending Morgan." Cole said.
"You see? They still love each other. Do not give up on Dean and Morgan. Just believe in them." JBL said.
Later on in the match, Roman hits Sheamus with a dropkick off the apron as he stares him down.
"Incredible!" Cole exclaimed.
"How you like it now!? How does that feel!?" Seth yelled.
"Yeah!" Rosa yelled and jumped up and down.
Seth starts to get annoyed by her yelling as Roman throws Sheamus back in the ring. Moments later, Seth gets in the ring with Sheamus and begins to take control. All of a sudden, Morgan's theme comes on as the crowd erupts in loud cheers.
"Uh oh! She's here!" Cole shouted as everyone turned their attention to the stage.
"This is gonna be good!" JBL grinned as Rosa's eyes widened.
She began to walk up to the end of the ramp as Morgan walked out, in her short bodycon dress. Dean starts to stare at The Outspoken Diva while his eyes widen at the sight. He wasn't expecting her to wear a dress, as he continued to take a good look at what he had lost.
"Hey, Rosa. Rosa!" Morgan got Rosa's attention as she spoke on the mic.
"What do you want!?" Rosa yelled.
"You called me out, didn't you? Are you sure about that? Are you positive? Do you really want to get your ass beat?"
"You can't beat me! I'm better than you! Come down here!"
"Are we about to see a fight?" JBL asked
"Heh, okay...Ask...and you shall receive...bitch!" Morgan threw the mic down and started marching down the ramp as the crowd cheered.
"Uh oh! Uh oh!" Cole said.
"What are you gonna do!?" Rosa shouted.
"These two are about to explode!"
As soon as Morgan was about to get to the end of the ramp, Rosa starts running as the crowd boos.
"Really? You're gonna run away? Okay then." Morgan takes off her heels and begins chasing her around the ring.
Rosa started to run for her life and screamed "Get her away from me!"
The Shield look on with amusement but then the ref manages to stop Morgan to much of the crowd's dismay.
Reluctantly going to the end of the ramp, she stood there, watching Rosa's every move. "I'm gonna get you, Rosa! Watch!" she pointed at her angrily while Rosa gave her a cocky smile and danced around.
Morgan was forced to watch the match, so she could wait for an opening, to get to Rosa. Meanwhile, in the ring, Roman hits Daniel with a cheap shot off the apron and Christian begins mouthing off to him.
Roman smirked and started to taunt him. "What are you gonna do? What are you gonna do?"
He turns around, only to be hit with the Irish Curse as the crowd cheers. Dean and Christian get tagged in and Morgan takes the opportunity to run towards Rosa who is distracted and spears her.
"Spear by Morgan!" Cole exclaimed as she started unloading on Rosa.
After she beat her up enough, she got off of her and put her heels back on. "This is what you get for running your mouth. Next time, I won't be so merciful."

'WWE Exclusive Video'
Morgan was alone in the diva's locker room, on her phone, looking at her Twitter. She stood up and put her phone away as she began packing her bag. She sighed once she felt eyes on her.
"...Why won't you stay away?" She turned around to Ambrose leaning by the door, watching her.
His hair was damp and all over the place after placing water on his head. He wore his Shield hoodie over his Shield attire and the sleeves were up to his forearms. As she took a good look at him, she started to remember how he would hold her, especially when he wrapped his arms around her from behind and gave her all the kisses she wanted. Even if she wanted to, she couldn't forget the way he would pucker his lips sometimes as he looked down at her, just waiting for her to kiss him. She hated that she was starting to miss him. She missed his forehead kisses, his kisses on the cheek, his neck kisses, his kisses on the head, but most of all, the kisses on the lips. His kisses would take her places and make her smile.
She could think of 100 reasons why she would want to get rid of him from her life but she would always find reasons why they should be together again after rebuilding that trust. He still made her knees go weak. But they weren't together anymore. She needed to move on. Her mind wanted to, but her heart ached whenever she encountered him or looked at him. Her feelings were starting to get the best of her and she really wanted to be in his arms again but after what she said to him...after what she did to him...he'd probably just come here to threaten her about how The Shield will beat the Wyatts.
Ambrose started to look at Morgan up and down slowly. Why did she have to look so good? He thought she'd be in her wrestling attire, but seeing her in that short dress was a bonus for him. He messed up. Big time.
"Dean? Dean? Dean?" She asked as he snapped out of his thoughts. "Why are you here?"
"...I had to see you." He replied and shut the door. "You told me to move on and let you go..."
"Well, you blew that. I see that backfire didn't turn you away. Can't take a hint?"
He smirked at her comment. "No, I can't. Look, we need to talk,"
"There's nothing to talk about..." She retorted.
"I am so tired of you running away from me...This time, you're not running. Not this time."
"Is that supposed to intimidate me and make you sweep me off my feet? No. Ain't gonna happen." She headed for the door.
She opened it but Dean put his hand on the door and shut it. She sighed loudly and tried to open it again but he had a strong push on the door that prevented her from opening it. He turned her around and pinned her against it while she narrowed her eyes at him.
"I highly advise you to let go of me and open the door, Ambrose,"
He clenched his jaw and looked down at her. "No. We need to talk."
"No, we don't."
"When I meant talk, I meant action. Action speaks louder than words, sweetheart."
"Action? You're mistaking me for Rosa. You may think all the women want you, but this woman doesn't want you, anymore." She pushed him away and walked over to the bathroom area and he followed her.
He smirked at her feisty attitude. "You are so in denial..."
"Are you done? I'd like to change."
"Go ahead."
"You can go wait in the locker room." She pushed him away and shut the bathroom door.
Dean leaned his back on the door while Morgan leaned on the door, on the other side and sighed.
He looked down. "...I miss you..." He whispered.
Morgan closed her eyes and exhaled. She opened them and replayed the words he just said.
"Damn it..." She muttered as her feelings started to get to her.
Dean got off the door and turned around to face the door. He put his hands on each side of the door and put his forehead against it. Morgan turned around and put her hand on the doorknob.
"Don't do this..." She mumbled.
She decided to open the door as she locked eyes with him. Dean took a step back while she stepped up to him.
"I have a lot to work on but I hope that you know I'm going to do everything in my power to get you out of this mess. Even if I did lose you, at least I can try to get you out of this supernatural crap, that's going on with The Wyatts."
She looked at him and saw a lot of pain and determination in his eyes. She tried to deter her eyes from his stare but she couldn't. He started to slowly lean in but she took a step back and shook her head.
"No. Stay away from me." She shot him a glare.
"Denial...denial...denial...how long are you gonna keep this up? We can go all night, sweetheart," he said with a cocky smile. He saw that Morgan fought the urge to laugh as she turned back around and crossed her arms. "You were about to laugh, weren't you? Whenever I made a smart remark, you'd either laugh or smile. Maybe I haven't lost you."
"...I just want to slap you, right now..."
"Don't you mean, kiss?" He corrected. "I'm not stupid...When The Wyatts get in your head, you say one thing, but your eyes don't look like you mean it. Your mouth says one thing, and your eyes mean another thing..."
"Not true..."
"Oh really? Let me put the puzzle pieces together...when you say you hate me; you mean you still love me. You say you want to hit me, but you want to kiss me. You say you wanted to see me get my ass get kicked but you wanted me to win. And when you said you were enjoying me getting beat up by Mark, you were worried about me...right? Did I put the pieces together? Heh, looks like Abigail and those Wyatts aren't as smart as they think."
Morgan exhaled. He knew. That was a good sign but not for long as she held her head and turned around to face him.
"Great...you made her mad. She's not too happy."
"Does it look like I care what a dead woman thinks?" He retorted. "That bitch means nothing to me."
Her head stopped hurting. "...I never meant to hurt you..." she spoke.
"I know that...And I never meant to hurt you either...I'm sorry. For everything. It's going to take time but I will make this right,"
She was about to reply but started to feel a sharp pain in her head. She hissed and shook her head and ended up pushing him away. "No. It's too late! For all of it! The Wyatts are my new family now...and it will stay that way. I'm done with The Shield, and I'm done with you." She walked over to the locker room door and put her hand on the knob.
"I'm not going to give up on you, Morgan," he called out.
"...And I don't want you to give up on me." She mumbled and left.
Dean smirked to himself when he heard her coming back to him. Maybe he still had a chance to save her.
----------
On Valentine's Day, Melanie woke up, to her cell phone ringing. "Hello?" She answered her phone.
"Happy Valentine's Day, sweetie!" Jane happily said.
"Happy Valentine's Day to you too, mom. I love you!"
"I love you too! Have any plans with Jon?"
"Yep. We're going to an arcade."
"Ooh, something different instead of the trademark candlelight dinner that most couples do. Sounds fun!"
"What are you gonna do with Dad?"
"Well, me and him are going to have a nice romantic dinner and we're going to go dancing. And then we'll spend some time in the hot tub and-"
"TMI! Never mind! I shouldn't have asked! My ears! My 26 year old ears!"
Jane laughed. "Oh come on, we're adults here."
"But that's so...gah! I don't wanna hear you talk about Dad in the hot tub! Gross..."
"Oh, Melly. Has Jon done anything yet for today?"
Melanie smiled and looked at the rose petals on the bed and saw a plate of food cooked for her with a tiny teddy bear.
"Yep. He cooked me breakfast and a teddy bear."
"Aw. Where is he?"
"He had a show to do with Colby and Joe. He should be back, later on."
"I bet you two are going to get very playful when it comes to the arcade date tonight."
She looked at a note next to the plate of food and read it. 'You and I are gonna have some fun tonight...Moxley is gonna be paying a visit.'
"Oh yeah. He's really starting to get playful, already." Melanie chuckled.
"Ooh. Who do you think is gonna win most of the games?"
"You know I am." Melanie playfully bragged.
"Haha! I'll be rooting for Jon to win."
"Mom! You're supposed to be on my side!"
"Hee hee, not today. Have fun. I love you!"
"Love you too. Bye."
Later in the evening, Melanie decided to wear something casual for her playful arcade date with Jon. She started putting on her earrings but felt something slightly cold around her neck. She looked down to see a necklace around her neck and smiled.
"Didn't hear you come in. You're full of surprises aren't you?" She turned around and wrapped her arms around Jon's neck. "You're late."
He wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her softly. "I know. Sorry. I had a meet and greet session. I'll make it up to you."
"Oh yes, you will when I kick your ass in all the arcade games."
"You wish."
After pulling away, she took a good look at the Winnie the Pooh fave on the necklace. "This is cute."
"I remember back during the Indy days, you would always talk about your favorite childhood cartoons and you said that Winnie the Pooh was your favorite. At first, I teased you a lot about it because you still had all your things about Winnie the Pooh, but after getting to know you better and after getting closer to you...I realized that character means a lot to you. Your parents would always read you the stories and when you left to go on the road for wrestling, you kept some of your Winnie the Pooh items for the memories."
"You remember that?" She grinned.
"Yeah. Plus, you do still have all those books, DVDs, and stuffed animals of Winnie the Pooh, back at your parents' place. So...when I saw that necklace, I thought of you and it reminded me of you."
"Thank you. I should have given you a gift or something,"
"You already have."
"What?"
"You being my girlfriend and being my friend for all these years is enough for me. As long as I'm with you, that's all I want."
She pulled him in for a hug. "You're so sweet."
"Ready for our date?"
"Yep. Ready to get trashed?"
"Careful. I'll show you my skills with gaming."
"Can't wait to see this."
When they made it to a local arcade, Jon and Melanie were seen by some fans and they took photos with them.
"You get to pick the first game," Jon said.
Melanie began to smirk and walked over to the Dance Dance Revolution booth while he followed her.
"Oh, hell no. No way." He shook his head.
"Oh, hell yes. Show me your moves." She grinned and put in the money.
"I can't believe I'm about to dance," he grumbled as they both got into the booth. Melanie picked the song and they began to dance the moves. "The fuck am I doing?" He looked confused as he tried to dance the dance steps on the screen but failed while Melanie laughed.
"This is gonna be child's play."
After the song was over, Melanie got a high score while Jon got a low score. She covered her mouth and tried not to laugh.
"What are you laughing at?" He playfully glared at her.
"Nnothing, nothing. Okay, what game do you want to play next?"
Jon grabs her hand and they walk around the arcade until one game catches his eye. "All right, something I can kick your ass in." Jon grins and walks over to one of the shooting games.
"This is gonna be interesting. Bring it!" Melanie said. The scores were close but Jon ended up winning. "Darn you!"
"Haha! Looks like I got better aim than you."
"Well, I have better driving skills than you. This is gonna be easy!" She sat down in one of the racing booths and he sat next to her.
"I dunno. That may come back to haunt you. If I win, I want a massage."
"And if I win, I want a piggyback ride."
"You're on."
The race was close but at the end, Jon started laughing once he saw the scores.
"What!? No way! Injustice!" She exclaimed as she saw her screen say 2nd place. "That's impossible! I was right next to you!"
"So...about that massage? I want one when we get home."
"Fine...fine..."
"Heh, someone's mad."
When they made it back from the arcade, Melanie kept her end of the bargain and prepared for the massage for him.
Seated on the edge of the bed, Jon removed his shirt and caught her staring at his torso. "See something you like?" he teased.
She averted her eyes and pushed him down. "Lay down and roll over your back."
He rolled on his back and sat on top of him, beginning to massage him.
"Wow, you're really tense. Ha, if it wasn't the wrestling, then maybe it was the ass kicking you received when I kicked your ass in Dance Dance Revolution, that wore you out." She laughed.
"Shut up." he laughed. "Who cares if you won? I'm not tense because of that."
"Oh really? Why are you tense?"
He managed to turn his body around to face her sitting on top of him. "The bet,"
"Well, if you would just stop stalling."
"I will. Moxley is gonna visit you tonight."
"I think he already has. I see a chain on your neck." she touched the chain on his neck. "I'll have my guard up this time." She got off him while he sat up.
"You can never have your guard up with Moxley." he grinned and got up. "I'm taking a shower. I'll be out in a few."
"Okay. I'll be waiting."
Once she watched him go into the bathroom and heard the shower run, she went to check Twitter.
Meanwhile, Jon, was in the shower, letting the warm water run over his body while he was deep in thought. They had to end this bet soon...they had to end this bet tonight...they had to end this bet now. It's Valentine's Day and he couldn't take much more of waiting. He'll have to draw her in. Hopefully, his plan will work. Brie saved Melanie from giving in last time, but this time, she has nowhere to run when Moxley gets a hold of her.
Meanwhile, to Melanie, she was lying on her back, on the bed. She really wanted this bet to be over so he could just take her. It's been over a month since they had sex and the tension was getting worse and worse every day. It surprised her that they both lasted this long but Melanie could not give up the chance to see Jon give her a lap dance. It was almost a once in a lifetime opportunity and she couldn't let that slip by.
She managed to escape him a few times but maybe the next time, she won't be so lucky. She had to think of something that would draw him in.
She thought she got a little overconfident, thinking Jon would break within a week. He proved her wrong and now she was paying for it by the consent teasing with Moxley. She wants Moxley but she fears that she may break if Jon decides to bring him out. Would she be able to resist Moxley? She'll have to find out whenever Jon decides to make his next move.
Moments later, she couldn't help but notice that Jon had been in the shower for a long period of time. Something told her to let him shower, but another part of her wanted to see if he was okay. Being the caring girlfriend that she was, she walked over to the bathroom door and knocked on it a couple of times.
"Jon, you okay in there? You've been in there a while."
After she didn't get an answer, she sighed and walked into the bathroom. "Jon? Are you okay? Jon?"
All of a sudden, he swiftly grabbed her into the shower and pinned her to the wall.
"Well, that was easy. Got you right where I want you." He smirked and pulled her in for a heated kiss.
'Not good! Not good!' She thought as she managed to push him away. "Not tonight. You're not gonna win that easily."
"And where are you going?" He wrapped his strong arms around her waist from behind as she tried to leave.
'I just had to walk in the bathroom...' She thought as she tried to find a way out of this heated situation.
"You really, really want to win this bet, don't you? Well, it ain't gonna happen. You say not tonight, well Moxley says you're gonna lose tonight."
He began to kiss her neck, asking, "Will you give in to me?"
"Ye-no!"
He smirked against her skin. "I'm sorry, what was that?" He continued to kiss her neck while she threw her head back taking her off guard...again...she needed to think of a game plan and control herself.
"No? You sure? You want Moxley, don't you? I can see it in your eyes that you're begging for him to take you. I know you want to give in to me. Just say those words and I'll make you my Mox girl, tonight." He released her and she turned around to face him.
She couldn't take it anymore and decided to quickly wrap her arms around his neck and pull him down for another heated kiss.
"Do you want to know what I'm gonna do to you once you give in?" He asked in her ear. "I'm gonna fuck you senselessly until you can't walk anymore. I hope you keep that in mind, the next time you try something." he got out of the shower, leaving her hot and bothered.
"W-what? Hey! Y-you can't just leave me here, like this!" she exclaimed.
He smirked and put a towel on. "Well, if you want to do some midnight cardio with me, give in. If not...suffer."
Melanie sighed loudly while Jon laughed and left the bathroom.
'Stupid me! Why'd I have to walk in the bathroom?! I knew he was gonna try something, but it just felt so good! Ugh, that is it! I'm done. I can't take this anymore!' She thought but then realization hit her.
She still had her schoolgirl outfit. She turned the shower off and sighed before going into one of the drawers to find her hidden costume.
'This is my last resort...if this doesn't work...'
Back with Jon, he was smirking. He got her right where he wanted her. All he had to do was wait for her to come out, begging for him to take her. He couldn't wait to hear her beg. He lounged on the bed, still shirtless and in his PJ pants. He heard the door open and his smirk got wider but it soon fell once he saw his fantasy right before his eyes.
"Is this what fantasize about?" She showed a flirty look as he looked at her body up and down.
'When did she get that outfit?' He thought and began to stare at her chest before her voice caught his attention.
"You okay?" She sat down in a chair and crossed her legs.
'You have gotta be kidding me...' He thought as he clenched his fists with the bed sheets and his knuckles began to go white.
She was tempting. He was this close to ripping that outfit to shreds.
"Just peachy..." He retorted.
She knew damn well what she was doing to him and this was not part of his game plan.
"You sure? I didn't think Moxley would go silent all of a sudden."
'And she has a garter on...' He thought as he started to imagine how he would take it off with his teeth.
"You are gonna pay for this..."
"Pay for what? I didn't do anything wrong."
"Get up. Right now." He stood up.
"Hm...I don't think so." She started to look at her nails. "I don't think Moxley is man enough to be able to experience this fantasy."
"Melanie." He said in a serious tone. "Get up."
"Why don't you make me?"
She saw the look of lust in his eyes and began to show a smile once she heard him say, "Fuck it, I can't take this anymore. Let's go."

'RAW'
Morgan tweets 'At Elimination Chamber...I'm going to get the last laugh. Consider it a vow. Taking down 4 people this Sunday. #MorgansHitList'
The Shield were walking backstage. "Shield! You have a moment?" Brad Maddox jogged up to them.
"What is it?" Seth asked.
"There's been a change in the match at Elimination Chamber."
"What change?" Roman asked.
"Morgan and Rosa will be a part of the match. Rosa with you three, Morgan with the Wyatts." Brad explained which caught The Shield's full attention while the crowd cheered.
"Rosa and Morgan? Who put them in the match?" Seth asked.
"Morgan personally requested it," Brad revealed and walked away.
"...You really are something...I see what you're doing...I see what you want..." Dean mumbled.
"Huh? Ambrose, what's going on?" Seth turned to him.
Dean smirked in response and started walking away.
"Dean! What's going on?" Seth called out as he and Roman followed him as the screen showed the commentators.
"What was up with that smirk? I really wanna know what happens next." King looked on
"Yeah. We have just found out that Rosa will be on The Shield's team, while Morgan will be with the Wyatts. Rosa and Morgan have a lot of things they need to get off their chest and it looks like this match on Sunday will be the solution. Man...things are gonna get even more chaotic, when those two get in the ring." JBL said.
"Those two are gonna kill each other," Cole stated.
"Oh, baby! I cannot wait! More diva action! Divas are gonna go against each other, while The Shield take on The Wyatts. Bonus! I cannot wait till Sunday!" King cheered.

You come from your dancing classes positively reeling. You are a melancholic mixture of excitement and dissappointment. For a moment, Yuri thinks that you might have confessed your feelings to your dance teacher and perhaps been given an ambiguous answer. Or rejected. Homicide makes its way towards Yuri's mind. He is angry that someone rejected you, he could make that Miss Rosa pay for such an offense. But simultaneosly, he is angry that you had feelings for another person.
Once Yuri has gone through many mental paths, considered and discarded murder and torture, he asks you what is going on.
"It's nothing really, we were practicing this dance, it reminded me of home." Oh. So... it's going to be one of these days, isn't it? Yuri sweeps his previous anger under the proverbial rug and goes back to arranging the flowers on the dining table. He keeps bringing flowers home, for no reason, you keep making makeshift bases for them. One day, maybe you'll make use of the money he gives you and buy a base or two. You have already taken to telling him when the flowers in your room and the kitchen are dead so he can replace them.
"Was it very similar? Perhaps I can dance it with you, It might make you feel like home!" He suggest excitedly, turning back to you with a hundred watt smile. It's a sort of enthusiasm he pretends solely for the benefit of cheering you up, but you don't need to know that. He is met with a burst of cackling laughter that confuses amd vaguely offends him.
"Oh, god, no!" She chuckles a little more. "You would not survive one of my dances, this was just a little similar in that we were dancing face to face and this guy had his hand on my waist but that's about it. It just reminded me of parties I've gone to." Yuri knows what you are doing. You are challenging him on purpose (you are not, but he doesn't know that) . But he won't fall for that. He can dance any stupid dance. He is capable at everything. (he is not)
"Don't be stupid! I can dance any stupid dance you have, I'll have you know it was part of my undercover training to learn and I am proficient!" You pointedly ignore the word undercover. Even though it makes your skin crawl. At this point you have learnt to dissociate Yuri from his job. It's easy because he is grumpy in the mornings, he likes your coffee a lot and he has a smile plastered over his face most of the time you share with him. It's easy because he cries himself to sleep after nightmares and you can hear his sobs echo through the walls, because he pays attention to what you like to eat and he cooks stuff your way when he can. It's easy because he is the only one who knows the truth about you and you are not dumb, you have been out and about enough in the past year to know what it's like, you know that half the shit you tell him should have gotten you killed. Yet he doesn't ever report you. He makes you think there is something redeemable in him when he is not talking and making it known to you that he believes in a bunch of bullshit. You can pretend that he is not what he is. You can pretend he is just your roommate. Your hot roommate you definetely don't fantasize about kissing by pulling his tie and tipping his plush lips to yours so he will finally shut the fuck up.
"It's adorable that you think you would last a minute dancing with me. You are so proper, Yuri. It would give you a heart attack." What do you even mean by proper? Yuri inhabits a shadowy world. He wouldn't call his job proper.
"Try me." He insists.
"What, without music?"
"I can put on music!"
"It wouldn't be the same"
"You can sing over it, come on, stop the excuses. Or are you the one that's scared?"
"Oh, alright but you better not have a stroke." You tell him, and he puts on a random vinyl in his record player. The melody starts playing and its completely wrong. It's too classic, too classy, too similar to Vivaldi. "Put your hands on my waist." Yuri is already blushing, the weight of his hand is warm and solid over the tafetta of your dress. "Alright, put your leg, it doesn’t really matter which, put your leg between mine."
"Wha-wha-WHAT!"
"Are you having your stroke now?" You eye him with laughter in your gaze. You tease. Yuri looks at you with fury but he makes no move to let go of you.
"Absolutely not." And he pushes his right leg between yours. You flash him a grin. Then you pull yourself flush against his chest and his leg, you hide your face in the crook of his neck and you can see even from this dimmed closeness that he is struggling to hold in a stutter of outrage, you feel it in the burning warmth that spreads from his neck. "Is this– is this necessary?" He croaks, voice breaking like a teenager.
"Absolutely yes." You say and Yuri can hear the grin in your voice. "Try to follow the movement of my hips and look at my feet, the steps are easy." Maybe you should count to make it easier for him but Yuri is a cocky jerk sometimes, if he steps on you, you can laugh at his proficiecy. But he powers through his embarassement, if he holds you a little too tight, you don't let him know. You start singing, like he said you should. It serves as a distraction from how attractive you find the restrained strength he holds you with.
You think the song fits the moment. You are dancing bachata to (something close enough to) Vivaldi and singing salsa. It's all wrong. It's nothing like back home. But it doesn’t matter. It's fun in its own way. Rolling your hips against his leg, twice to the side, twice to the other and switch. It fills your chest with something, feeling Yuri grow confident, less flustered, getting a little bold with the way he moves his hips.
You want to fluster him again.
Rather, you have to.
Being a good dancer can make an average man attractive. Yuri, who is already handsome, with his intense red eyes, his sharp jaw, full lips and that cat like grace that adorns his deceavingly slim body, Yuri who is so strong he can carry you with one arm like it's nothing over a flight of stairs when you pass out drunk on his living room. God. You can't allow Yuri to become more atrractive still.
Morally, you simply can't.
His humanity is deceptive. He embodies everything that has made your life miserable. He is worse than complicit with a sick system. He works with it. Back home he might have been putting that lovely grin of his to use while killing and maiming and procuring more names for the killing and maiming of anyone who might have been resistant or related and innocent. Just like you.
You lead him to give you a turn as you sing. And he starts doing it by himself. You can tell the moment he starts to truly enjoy himself because his joy is unabashed. He tries to hum the melody you sing, you can hear his smile in his voice. His hands are so warm and so firm and if you were to touch them you would feel the popping veins, the corded muscle that runs beneath his skin and the bone structure that makes you wanna touch them all the more.
God. You can't let this bastard become more attractive.
But you want to enjoy this. It's so tiring pretending that you don't like him. What does that say of you? You think he is a monster. A bloody monster of a man. Why don't you push him away already?
"Is that how it is in your parties?"
"Oh, not at all, this is what the DJ plays when its six in the morning and he wants to chase us out and he is getting desperate. It's one of my favourite moments, my friends and I loved that part because we would dance to anything."
"I see." Yuri doesn't ask what a DJ is or what on earth would you be doing partying well into the early morning. Instead, because he has become bold with the sound music and your body flush against his, he says: "show me what the other stuff is like."
You want to show him. No you don't. You shouldn't. It's going to rattle you to your bones. Your heart is already beating itself out of your chest. You can already see it. He will adapt and he will make you shiver and you will die because you will have to fully admit to yourself how much you want to this man to fuck you silly. God its gonna be embarassing. You are too sober for this. But you already know you are gonna do it.
"Alright but you really aren't gonna like it. It's a bit, uhm, sensual?"
"More than this?"
"Yeah," the word 'crude' is on the tip of your tongue, but you don't wanna say it. Because it's not. That's just a social construction that is based on shaming sex and you are well past that sort of anacronism. You haven't gone to collage to waste your time. You will not put shaming words onto something you love, something so full of good memories.
"Ah, what the hell, show me."
You fake confidence, "You will regret this, Briar." You turn around in his arms, "okay, move your leg back, okay, there, now don't have a stroke, okay?" You are the one about to have a stroke. But Yuri doesn't need to know that. This is so awkward, at least there's music. You really are about to shake your ass for ( flush against) Yuri Briar, aren't you?
Yep.
That's exactly what you're doing.
Yuri gets absolutely outraged when you tell him he should grab your waist again and do 'thrusting motions against you'. You giggle. Because what else can you do? You try to think about music. You think, actually classical music is good to twerk to. You should have guessed that before. You would have tormented mum so much more.
Yuri, on the other hand, is about to die. He could keep his cool with the other stuff. But this. Your hips gyrating, your body going low, chasing the floor before coming up, up and pressing up against him. God. Is he supposed to be this hard? Are all men straining against their pants in your parties? He doesn't really like the thought of that. Your knees make circles, they make your back snap and push your... rather lovely behind, up and down. Yuri's mind is infested with this.
You said this was sensual. But it's not. It's downright sexual. You'd do this in public? He can’t even fathom it. The motion of your hips, up and down, front and back, all in the same fluid movement, recreate a vivid image of what it would be like to have you from behind. This is going to follow him after the lights are off. You feel warm, so warm, it seeps through your clothing and Yuri keeps holding you close, maybe a little firmer, maybe his fingers strain with the effort to not turn you around and start something he doesn't think he should.
But dear fucking god, he can't stand this for long.
You are so close, and Yuri is sober. Completely sober. Why does he feel so drunken? When you spin it's hardly a surprise, he was expecting it sooner or later, when your eyes look for his, he worries about how flushed he is. He doesn't expect to look at tints of darkness coloring your skin, he doesn't expect your eyes to linger on his lips.
The madman within him, the one you call bloody, the bastard, raises his head at the overt show of desire. He has known he has a thing for you for a while. How not to? He has been living with you for over a year, has heard you languish and rise, you have made him eat his own words more than once. God how he has been drawn to the curves that make up your body! Almost from the very start his eyes have lingered over your shape. It was an inevitability. Not a question of 'if' but of 'when'. Still, realising you want to kiss him unleashed Pandora's box.
It's a short distance. There's already not an inch of space between the two of you. And Yuri really, really wants to kiss you. Or throw you against the wall. Yeah. That would be lovely. He wants to do that. And he is going to. His thumb and forefinger capture your chin, and you open your mouth, possibly in surprise, but Yuri is not really thinking, he can't think straight when your lips pop open and your eyes delve into his.
It takes only a moment. And then Yuri is tumbling you onto the floor, lips searing onto yours, hips craddled into your open legs and, oh fuck, he is pushing into you. His hands aren't just warm anymore. They are burning, tearing out your dress and his shirt, going under layers to find skin.

So I think I own you this post.
What is El Desafío?
It’s a talent show where famous people (singers, chef, sportsperson, actors, actress, writers, TV presenters, etc) show off skills that are far away from their normal skills. They also face personal challenge such as facing their fear of highs, been burn alive or drawn
Those challenge are often physics but there are others that consists in learning to play an instrument or learning a dance (one had the pan one, and dancing in the water while is ‘raining’) or moving heavy vehicles (pushing a quad up 11 stairs, doing a complet turn in a 2x2 space and down or move a lorry over glass cups without braking) or learning to shut a weapon. There’s also a face off between 2 different contestats.
All concursants need to go though a challenge called apnea, that consist to hold your breath underwater as long as you can.
How do they won?
Each gala, after all challenge the jury (Santiago, Juan and Pilar) gave points from 1 to 7 and 10 that gets put together, and each gala accumulates to the others. The one in the top is going to win.
What do they win?
Each gala the contestat with the most points get a 6000euros* to donate to whatever cause or NGO they want.
After all the galas (10), the winner gets 30000 euros to donate to an NGO or a cause they want and a BMW car for them.
*+500 euros each 30s that manages to stay underwater the apnea contestant.
Apparently there 10 galas. They are broadcast Fridays 10 p.m Madrid time, and if I can watch them on time, I’ll live blogging it with El Desafío lb, just in case you want to block the tag. I won’t be able to post Jorge’s bit until Saturday-Monday.
As I get to know more about the program, I’ll be going updating this because this is my first time watching it.
Jorge’s challenge so far:
Gala 1: Face off - duel in the heights against Flo, he wins
Gala 2: The human torch. They are going to set Jorge on fire.
Gala 3: Disco GP. Apparently is a dancing/singing one (?) Jorge will be the main character of his own musical!
Gala 4: Extrem aim/accuracy. Jorge will learn how to shoot
Gala 5: apnea
Gala 6: Drone pilot
Gala 7: Films Percussion
Gala 8 - Semifinal 1: Face off - still ring challenge against Laura Escanes. He wins
Gala 9 - Semifinal 2: dancing treadmills (he will dance on treadmills)
Gala 10 - Final: tightrope walker
I’m going to add also the apnea challenge here.
Gala 1: Ana  Guerra - 2 minutes 27 seconds (they add 2500 euros)
Gala 2: Flo - 3 minutes 30 seconds (they added 3500 euros)
Gala 3: Jorge Blanco - 4 minutes 13 seconds (they added 4000 euros)
Gala 4: Laura Escanes - 3 minutes 40 seconds (they added 3500 euros)
Gala 5: Jorge Lorenzo - 3 minutes 33 seconds (they add 3500 euros)
Gala 6: Boris Izaguirre (but he might not do it as he suffered a stroke while recording el Desafío) No apnea this gala
Gala 7: Rosa López - 4 minues 40 seconds. The new all record for this challenge. (they add 4500 euros)
Gala 8 - Semifinal 1: Mariló Montero - 4 minutes 8 seconds (they added 4000 euros).
Gala 9 - Semifinal 2: Boris Izaguirre - 1 minute 16 seconds (they added 1000 euros)
Gala 10 - Final: there’ no apnea
Edit: For those who read the translation. I did my best, but I’m sure there are better translations,, They are nosy as hell and very one speaks over everyone. They use a lot of surprise expression that are difficult to translate in English. And on top of that, Juan, one of the judges is a pain in the ass to translate. He likes to use very long and complicated words and he starts the sentences in 3 different ways. He also uses a lot one expression that there’s no way I can translate it directly to English and I think I translated in in several different ways.
Anyway, I do my best with them.

Patience Rewarded
Warnings: Angst to comfort, original idea
Summary: As a private detective, an agent of the National Security Bureau and an investigator in the NXX, Luke’s ever the busy body. Robin’s supportive and has learned the art of patience, but when one week proves to be challenging, all she needs is a reminder that she’s good enough.
Tumblr media
The house was annoyingly silent and far too lonely, as it’s been for almost a week now. Dating an agent for the National Security Bureau who also worked as a private investigator on the side, patience was key. There would be days you heard very little from them, nights they would come home too tired to eat. There would be cases that lasted for weeks, if not months and last minute summons that would take them miles away for days at a time.
Dating someone in this field was a test of patience, trust, and being supportive even when the distance was killing you. It was a test of courage, having to face each phone call with a worry that the person on the other line was about to say your loved one had lost their life on the job. Worst of all, if that were to happen, there would be no explanation for it especially if it had anything to do with a classified case.
Luke made me aware of all these things in the beginning, and I accepted each and every aspect. Being with him, loving him, was worth it.
I reminded myself of this as I pushed my last chunk of chicken around the plate with a fork, one elbow on the table while my cheek rested on the corresponding fist. Across from me was a full plate, the food likely cold by now. It had been sitting there for an hour, no sign of the man it was waiting for. The last few dinners had been like this.
Sighing, I set my fork down and got up, grabbing Luke’s plate and walking to the microwave to hide it inside. Grabbing a pen and sticky note, I wrote a message for Luke and stuck it to the microwave’s door.
Your dinner’s in here. Please eat something ~ R❤️
Several days ago, Luke shared with me that he was taking part in an investigation. He couldn’t tell me anything about it and he didn’t have to leave Stellis, he just wanted me to know in case there was ever a time I couldn’t get ahold of him. I appreciated that; he’s always told me what he could for my own peace of mind.
Whatever he was working on, it was taking several days. It’s not the first time he’s dealt with a long running case and it’s not the first time I’ve gone days on end without spending much time with him, but this time it was hitting hard. Why? I wasn’t sure. We’ve been in Stellis for a few months so I was used to the city by now and had a few friends, I had the antique shop to keep me busy and of course Peanut for company when he wasn’t helping Luke. I had hobbies like yoga and reading to take my mind off the time and chores always needed to be done.
So what was different this time then the others? Not that the others were any easier to deal with, but why, particularly now, did I miss Luke so badly?
‘Maybe it’s cuz he’s been spending so much time with Rosa.’
I shook my head, banishing the thought immediately. I promised myself I wouldn’t go there, that I wouldn’t get jealous of his childhood best friend, someone who helped shape Luke into the amazing man he is today. I’ve met Rosa before and consider her a good friend - she’s lovely and incredibly kind. She’s an attorney and likely was just aiding Luke on the case or vice versa.
Luke would never hurt me like that.
‘Doesn’t change the fact he was in love with her for so long.’
“I think it’s time for bed.” I said out loud, hoping it would shut my brain up.
Scrapping the remaining contents of my plate into the garbage, I put the leftover rice and mashed potatoes into the fridge before heading to the bathroom for a shower. I spent a little longer then normal under the hot water, soaking in the warmth I haven’t felt in what felt like an eternity. When I did finally get out, I changed into a tank top and fuzzy pants then crawled into bed.
I stayed up for another hour, scrolling through my phone in a final attempt to greet Luke when he came home. Every five minutes I was glancing at the door, listening for footsteps that never came. Every ten I was getting up to peek out the window, hoping to catch sight of his figure walking towards the shop. Every fifteen I was opening my messages, clicking on his name, then closing the app without sending anything.
By 10 PM I had given up. I clicked my phone off and set it on the nightstand, then got up one final time. Approaching the hamper in the corner of the room I dug through the laundry, pulling out the hoodie he wore yesterday. It was wrinkled but that didn’t matter, not when his scent was clinging to the fabric. The sleeves were a little longer then my arms, the bottom just a tad above the middle of my thighs. Wearing it made me feel like Luke was holding me, and as I crawled back into bed, I pretended he was.
~~~~~~~~~~
The other side of the bed dipped beneath someone’s weight. The perpetrator was moving slowly as if not to wake me, but did anyway. In my barely awake state, I could only manage a whine as I tried to look behind me.
A voice shushed. “It’s just me.”
Luke.
I rolled over and snuggled in close, head resting on his chest as his arm wrapped around my waist. “Welcome-” I yawned. “-home. Did you eat?”
“Yeah, it was delicious. Thank you, baby.” I felt his lips against my hair. “Don’t lose your sleep. We can talk in the morning.”
I didn’t respond, focusing my attention on the lullaby of his heartbeat. It was strong and steady, the gentle rise and fall of his chest in time with his breaths pushing my consciousness away. His warmth, the safety of his presence, all of it made me forget about the worries plaguing my mind. At least for now.
~~~~~~~~~~
“Robin.” A hand touched my face, gently brushing hair behind my ear. “Wakey wakey sleeping beauty.”
I groaned and buried my face into the pillow. “Don’t wanna…”
Luke chuckled. “You gotta take your medicine, and how am I supposed to leave without a kiss first?”
Leave? That depressing word banished drowsiness instantly, leaving me to blink a few times to clear my vision. Luke was dressed and had his camera hanging off his shoulder, clearly ready to go somewhere.
Confused, I sat up. “Are we supposed to go somewhere I forgot about?”
He shook his head. “No. Rosa and I are gonna grab breakfast before getting back to work on this case.” His expression shifted to one of guilt. “I was gonna make something this morning so we could eat together, but I slept later then I meant to. I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologize, Luke. You were at it for hours yesterday. I’m just glad you got some rest.” I waved my hand in a ‘come here’ motion and Luke responded by sitting on the edge of the bed. Placing a hand on his cheek I leaned forward to kiss his lips. “Have a good day. I love you.”
He gave me a kiss too. “I love you, too. Don’t overwork yourself in the shop - if there’s anything you need me to handle, I’ll do it when I get back. Then we can enjoy dinner over a movie, your pick. How’s that sound?”
I hummed, sneaking a third kiss before letting him go. I stayed put, waiting for the sound of the door closing before falling back onto the mattress with a disappointed sigh. Of course I wanted to spend the morning with Luke, but he must be exhausted with all the hours he’s putting into this case. It won’t last forever, I just have to be patient a while longer. Besides, with our at home movie date tonight, I was sure to feel recharged.
~~~~~~~~~~
I practically skipped around the living room as I prepared it for tonight, making sure everything was perfect. The number of pillows on the couch had doubled, a large weighed blanket resting over the back and waiting for it’s time to shine. The coffee table was cleared of everything except a bag of pretzel sticks sitting in one corner, ready to be eaten after dinner. I stood in front of the TV, flipping through a list of new additions to Netflix. I was having trouble choosing between romance or comedy, but after stumbling on ‘Isn’t It Romantic’ I knew we had a winner. It was a blend of the two genres, not to mention the lead actress was one of my favourites.
My phone rang just then, playing Pink Panther’s theme song. Only one number was assigned to that song, and without hesitation, I pulled the phone from the back pocket of my jeans and pressed the green button.
“Hey handsome, on your way home? What do you think about ordering takeout for dinner instead of cooking?” I asked, setting the remote on the table. “Our poor letter holder is drowning in coupons.”
“Robin…” The tone in Luke’s voice was easy to recognize - it was the soft, uneasy one he used when giving me bad news.
My shoulders dropped, smile faltering. “Things are taking longer then expected, huh?”
“I’m sorry.” He said, and I could visualize the look on his face. “We made a breakthrough in the case and-”
“You don’t need to explain. I understand. Besides, it’s not like movie nights are rare. We’ll celebrate once your job is done. Rosa can come, too. I’m sure she’s just as exhausted as you are.”
“I’ll make it up to you, I promise.” Rosa’s voice was in the background, but I couldn’t pick up on what she was saying. “I have to go. Call me if there’s an emergency.”
“I will. I love you, Luke.”
“I love you, too. Sleep well, Lovebug.”
The line went dead. Sighing, I pulled the phone from my ear and shoved it back into my pocket, switching the TV off. I wasn’t in the mood for a movie anymore. I’d rather just go to bed.
~~~~~~~~~~
The room was dark, every corner blanketed in the darkest of shadows. Every piece of furniture, everything that once made this place home was gone. The only thing left was the window, the glass discoloured from various stains and dust.
The world outside was full of light, rays of sunshine showering upon the couple below. They stood in the driveway, loading a large pile of luggage into a silver car. The woman had a petite build, medium length brown hair and golden eyes. Her smile was beautiful and full of kindness. The man was tall, had messy chestnut hair and wore a golden key around his neck, which swung back and forth as he tossed suitcases into the trunk. They looked like newly weds preparing to set out on their honeymoon.
The man looked up just then, coral eyes meeting mine through the glass. I backed away, hiding in the darkness. His eyes were beautiful but looking at them filled my chest with an indescribable agony.
I waited a while, and when I stepped back towards the window for another look, all I saw was the silver car backing out of the driveway. As it disappeared down the road it took the sunlight with it until the world beyond the glass was pitch black too.
My eyes opened, revealing the wall I almost always saw when I woke up every morning. The room was dark, a sign that the sun was still asleep. The darkness reminded me too much of that horrible dream, much so that I didn’t want to be in it anymore.
I sat up and reached towards the lamp, turning it on. I jumped as someone groaned behind me. Whipping my head around, I caught sight of Luke covering his eyes with one hand, the other trying to block the light.
“Sorry!” I exclaimed in a hushed whisper, quickly flicking out the light. “I didn’t realize you were home.”
“It’s okay.” He said, voice thick with sleep as his arm dropped over his stomach. “What’s wrong?”
I bit the inside of my cheek. He sounded exhausted; the last thing I wanted to do add more to his plate. “Nothing, I just need a drink, that’s all.”
Peeling the blanket from my body I slipped out of bed, leaving the door open a crack on my way out. I followed the wall to the kitchen and turned on the light there, not wanting to disturb Luke any further. Opening the cabinet I grabbed a glass and turned on the faucet, filling it to the brim with water.
‘He wasn’t holding you. Luke always holds you when he sleeps.’ A voice in my head said.
‘He doesn’t have too. He’s exhausted and was probably being considerate not to wake us up.’
‘Luke’s always putting you first. He’d suffer in an unhappy relationship for your sake.’
‘That’s not true. Luke loves me. He’s never given me a reason to doubt him.’
‘Maybe not, but eventually he’s gonna get tired of being your caretaker.’
I froze, the glass half-way to my lips. Blinking rapidly I set it down, my momentary shock giving the awful voice more room to speak.
‘You’ll never be for him what she can. You can’t bring in the income she could.’
‘Relationships aren’t about money.’
‘But when you make a home it’s a factor. Luke covers most of the expenses - he technically pays you. It’s his antique shop. He stays on top of you for your medication, he takes you to almost all of your doctors appointments, does all the heavy housework… How could you ever be an equal partner to him?’
My hands were shaking as I stepped away from the counter. Letting out a shakey breath I moved to the living room, taking a seat on the couch as I tried to settle the rising storm. I didn’t want to go back to bed like this. No matter how hard I tried to beat the voice back, it wouldn’t go away.
A sob escaped without my permission and I quickly clasped my hand over my mouth, muffling my cries as tears started to pool in my eyes. Grabbing one of the many pillows littering the couch I buried my face into it, shoulders shaking each time a sob tore through my chest.
The voice was right… Rosa could keep up with him better then I ever could.
“Robin?” Luke’s voice reached my ears, the open space next to me on the couch dipping beneath his weight. “Hey, what’s wrong? Is your chest hurting you?”
He sounded worried, almost frantic. Crying too much to speak I shook my head, refusing to lift my face from the pillow that was undoubtedly soaked in tears by now. With strength I forgot he had, Luke lifted me from the cushion and sat me sideways on his lap. He didn’t try to take the pillow from me, just held me close with one arm around my waist and the other gently holding the back of my head.
“Talk to me. Whatever it is, I’ll help you.” He said, voice low and just for me.
Sniffling, I lifted my head just enough to avoid having my voice muffled. “It’s dumb.”
“If it’s upsetting you, it’s not dumb.”
“Yes it is.” I argued, voice cracking. “You have enough stress to deal with right now… I-” A hiccup cut me off. “I don’t want to make it worse.”
His hold on me tightened. “Nothing about you is stressful, Robin. I’m sorry I haven’t been around much as of late. I’m sorry I wasn’t here to help you sooner, but I’m here now. Please talk to me.”
I stubbornly shook my head. “I don’t want you to feel bad. The littlest thing goes wrong and you carry guilt you don’t need to be carrying. It’s not your fault, you’ve done nothing but make me feel loved and secure, but my insecurities just won’t go away. I want the voice in my head to stop but it won’t shut up.”
“What’s it saying?”
Finally, I looked up at him. His profile was a little blurry but I didn’t care. Blurry or not, he was still my Luke. “That you deserve better. Someone healthy that can keep up with you and contribute more.”
Luke’s expression changed to that of a heartbroken man. “No… Baby, no…”
Shaking his head, he leaned down and started peppering my face in kisses, whispering more ‘no’s’ between each one. He was holding me so tightly, cradled me so close to his chest I could feel it thumping against my ribs.
“What do I have to do? How do I make it go away?” He asked, sounding as though he was about to cry.
“I don’t know.” I whisper, head falling against his chest. He wasn’t wearing his key but if he was, I would have been toying with it as a distraction.
Silence fell over the room, but it wasn’t tense nor uncomfortable. It was the silence that came with two people lost deeply in their thoughts, scrambling to piece together something to say, something that would bring the other person comfort.
Luke seemed to have organized his own first. “Earlier, you said I deserve to be with someone healthy. Someone who can keep up and contribute more. You are all of that. Your heart is sick but you’re strong and healthy, and I don’t have the cleanest medical record either. You’re always on the go, always willing to help where it’s needed. You contribute to this place so much more then you realize. It’s not just a shop, an office and a house when you’re here.” He flashed me my favourite closed eyed and red cheeked smile. “You make this place home.”
As his words sunk in, my eyes started to water again. “You mean that?”
“What, you don’t believe me?” He asked, lips curling into a playful grin.
In the blink of an eye my back was against the couch, sides being assaulted by playful fingers. I squealed and tried to wiggle away from the tickle attack, but with Luke’s weight pinning me down I wasn’t going anywhere.
“L-Luke!” I called through my giggles, unsuccessfully trying to push his arms away. “O-Okay! I believe you! I bel-believe you!”
“Say ‘I know Luke loves and cherishes me with all his heart.”
I barely had any air in my lungs to repeat the entire thing, but I tried. “I-I know L-Luke loves and ch-cherishes me w-with a-all his h-heart! Now stop t-tickling me!”
His hands disappeared from my sides, slipping under my back instead. He pulled me up and straightened us out so I was sitting on his lap, one arm wrapped around his shoulders while the other rested against his chest.
“Feeling better now?” He asked.
I nodded, leaning forward to peck his lips. “Much better. Thank you, Luke.”
“You don’t need to. I do these things because I love you.” One of his hands started running up and down my back. “What do you say we watch that movie now?”
“Right now? At,” I glanced at the clock. “1:40 in the morning? Don’t you have that case to work on tomorrow?”
Luke shook his head. “We wrapped it up today. Tomorrow is a well deserved break. Don’t suppose you’d be willing to keep me company, would you?”
Giggling, I kissed him again. “I think I can fit you in.”
One kiss turned into two, then three then four until the movie was completely forgotten. It didn’t go further that tonight, but each kiss made up for every hour I spent without Luke. Heart full and battery recharged, I was sure to be in a good mood tomorrow.

Unit Teambuilding - Kukui
Honestly, I never expected to be writing this.  Kukui is...not a sync pair that does much.  And yet is constantly used.
General Overview Kukui is one of those units that will see a ton of play even at 1/5, because his value is his utility at base.  Leer is a fantastic trait to have, providing a massive increase to physical damage.  At 3/5, he gets Staggering 4 on Accelerock, giving a 50% flinch chance on a gauge-free move.  This is good because high chance and no gauge.  This is atrocious because he needs to cycle his trainer move to restore MP to keep that pressure up.  But for CS, it’s generally all upside.
The thing is, this has been Kukui’s sole niche for ages, entirely because his offense is downright bad.  Mid-300 attack with EX is low, and because he didn’t have EX, he wasn’t really sync nuking too hard.  Especially not with Cakewalk.  Yes, Kukui’s other attack is Rock Tomb, because all is dust.  So the man’s not just weak, he’s weak in a way where even if his offenses were higher he’d still be cursed.  Kukui’s damage, in both DPS and sync, is bad.  It’s depressing.  Rock-types just do not get to be very good.  So even with the EX, I don’t think anything has seriously changed for him.
Team 1: Kukui, SS Diantha/P!Serena/Gordie, Hop/Shauna/Sonia Kukui’s offensive role relies entirely on Diantha.  Without Diantha, this does not work so well, though I will bring up others.  SS Diantha is just the complete package.  Speed debuffs on entry, defense debuffs through buddy move, and the coveted Zone.  All that you need then is...complete offensive support.  Kukui cannot self-buff.  It’s a problem.
There are alternatives, however.  P!Serena, or technically Raihan if you go 4/5, can hit -2 speed AoE per action.  So they’re really effective Cakewalk supporters.  Gordie is a single-target option for Gauntlet.  In those scenarios, Sonia may be optimal, due to the potential defense debuffs that can further assist Kukui’s damage.
Team 2: Kukui, SC Hilda, Hilbert This is an old standby for me, and it’s a generalized indication of what works.  Leer debuffs all foes’ defense, and SC Hilda hits AoE with Diamond Storm.  Kukui can then focus on flinching center in CS, shutting down that final action and letting Hlida blast.  Kukui’s notably because the high speed helps with Hilda’s gauge needs pre-mega.
Team 3: Kukui, Rosa, Lodge May Again, somewhat example-based, but anti-Entei.  Kukui’s only significant utility is his flinch rate.  The goal is to emphasize someone who can deal good damage to it, and ideally an EX support for rapidly increasing damage.  The main things to keep in mind are taking down phase 1 quickly, to avoid Fire Spin killing the tank, and that you desperately need the flinch at the start of Bar 3.
Final Thoughts Kukui’s an odd unit, very much like Nanu.  He’s got fantastic utility that allows him to see pretty constant play, but very rarely for offensive reasons.  But now with EX, he can do offensive reasons, it’s just a massive challenge.  I’m still not convinced Kukui’s going to do all that much without an expansion.  Which...how did he not get one?  No really, how?  He got his EX, Fantina set that expectation, I didn’t think they’d skip him for Wally.  So weird...
