I am going to drop an idea

So, Donnie x reader (Mr. Bootyyyshaker9000 has me on chokehold-) ft. Shelldon. So without Donnie knowing, fellow reader here has been taking care of Shelldon during his rebellious phase. Oh Donnie said no to racing? Well Shelldon would fly to wherever reader is and do it with them. When Shelldon's got scolded, he'd say something like "[reader] would let me do this!" here and there.

The bros said they're like a divorced couple and Shelldon is their son. Shelldon plays along with it, Donnie and reader? They said no but their faces said otherwise.

This is such a cute idea, I'm obsessed!! I did not mean for this to get nearly as long as it did, but I got into it, and I hope you enjoy!

First and foremost, I think that on the rare occasion that you aren't actively going against what he says, he would really appreciate your help with Shelldon, raising an AI son is far from an easy task, especially when you are also responsible for frequently saving the world, and all that comes with it. I think that just knowing that there was another person around for Shelldon, aside from him and his brothers, would be a huge comfort to Don, one that in the grand scheme of things, is rarely overlooked.

Though his annoyance will, at times, make him temporarily forget what a godsend you are. If he forbids Shelldon from doing something, it is because that was the most logical thing to do, the keyword being logical, which may not necessarily mean the best. In any situation that is new or scary, Donnie relies almost completely on his logic, not his emotions, and considering the fact that parenting, no matter how long you've been doing it, is always a new and scary situation, means that Don often approaches it from a completely logical standpoint, often overlooking emotions, and lacking sympathy. He has lived through all that Shelldon has, and yet often forgets what it's like to be in Shelldon's place. Don tries to not be like his father, but in doing so, he overcompensates, and instead of being borderline-negligent, he is overbearing and overprotective. So although he doesn't always agree with your methods, to have someone to balance him out is definitely for the best for dear Shelly.

When he finds you and Shelldon doing what he specifically forbid Shelldon from doing, he will be pretty upset. He trusted you to be a responsible figure in Shelldon's life, and yet to him, it seems like you, in those moments, do nothing but enable him. He will most likely do his best to shut down whatever it is that he had originally told Shelldon not to do, which of course, only serves to piss you and Shelldon off. If this were to escalate to a full argument, Shelldon would probably either go to one of his uncles for a little while or hide away at his charging station until the two of you were done.

After some talks with Dr. Feelings, and realizing how he was wrong, I think that as hard as it would be for him, he would go to apologize to not only Shelldon, but to you as well. I think that he would get the three of you together, and would explain his though process, and apologize for being overbearing. He would want the three of you to come up with both general and specific goals for what Shelldon wants both short-term and long-term, as well as what you and Don want, and want to improve at short-term and long-term. He would want to talk about meeting somewhere in the middle, and being able to keep each other accountable. He knows that sometimes he can be too strict, but he also feels that sometimes you can be too lax, and would want a compromise. Would want to go over communication, and come up with code words for when he, or you, were overstepping. He would also include Shelldon in this, wanting to know whenever Shelldon felt genuinely hurt, and not just indignant about a rule made for his safety. Donnie knows that the two of you are not perfect, and that the two of you will continue to make mistakes, but he wants to do his best to do right by his son.

Whether or not you and Don started out platonically, Shelldon claiming you as another parent would bring you and Don much closer. It would ultimately be up to you whether or not you wanted to redefine yours and Don's relationship as romantic, but regardless of whether you do or don't I don't think Don would be able to be with anyone else. The three of you were like a little family, and that was enough for him, regardless of what label you had decided to assign to it. He would be happy just being friends that co-parented, but he would also be happy as a couple raising Shelldon, though he will ultimately leave it up to you to bring up, as he would be very afraid to lose you, and wouldn't want to rock the boat, as he was just happy to have you in his life.

The Disaster Twins Are Psychic?!

Chapter 3

"Well that looks like everything," Leo says. He just finished loading a new, professional-grade printer into his shopping cart for the medbay. "Unfortunately, dear brother, there is still one last item on the list," Donnie replies.

The item is a new Mystic Crystal for the medical scanner Donnie and Leo invented to help them see internal injuries through their plastron. "I think I see it!" Leo shouts, pointing towards, a velvet box emanating with green glow. Donnie uses the arms from his battle shell to pull ut down. The box contains a large, glowing green crystal. "That's approximately seven times the size of the one we need! We wouldn't to find another crystal for years!" he exclaims.

Leo takes the box from his twin and admires the crystal. "This is incredible, 'Tello! Imagine what we could do with this!" "I can can imagine a great many things 'Nardo," Donnie replies. "Let's put it away and get Raph and Mikey." Leo puts the crystal in the shopping cart. Just as he stands up, a piece of the ceiling falls onton a nearby stack of barrels, spilling their contents all over Donnie and Leo.

"Ew! What is this?!" Leo exclaims, covered in glowing blue and pruple slime. Leo turns to see Donnie panicking. The feeling of the slime seeping down he arms and beneath his battle shell makes his skin crawl. He claws at his arms trying to get it all off of him. He removes his battleshell, tossing it into the cart as he panickedly attempts to remove whatever slime he can off his softshell.

Leo rushes over and takes Donnie's hands. "Donnie look at me," Leo says. Donnie picks his head up and looks at Leo. "Focus on me and my voice. Only focus on me and my voice. Tell me what you see." Donnie takes a deep breath before he slowly starts examing Leo's face. "Your left eye is deep blue and right eye is blood red, both colors are pure," Donnie begins. Whenever they do this, Donnie always starts with Leo's eyes. He thinks its because Leo is the only person who Donnie can read. Leo's the only one who Donnie knows and understands, sometimes even better than himself.

"Your mask is a slightly lighter blue than your left eye, You have two, long red crescent marks over your eyes that are a shade lighter than your right eye. You have lime green scales that accent the yellow crescent markings that descend down your arms and legs."

"Good," Leo says. "Feel any better?" "Partially," Donnie replies. "The slime still disgusts me and will haunt my dreams tonight, but I am no longer panicking." "Alright, now let's figure out what this slime stuff is," Leo states, looking around. He let's go of one of Donnie's hands, still holding the other tightly for silent support.

Donnie looks over the slime on himself and Leo. "I'm sure what it is specifically, but I know it definitely was created using a Mystic substance." Donnie turns to take another look at Leo when he notices that some of the slime has turned grey. "Wasn't this all colorful and glowy before?" Leo asks before Donnie has a chance. "Yes, yes it was," Donnie says nervously. He pulls out two test tubes from his belt and takes a sample of the colored slime and of the grey slime.

The slime quickly changes from colorful to grey in a matter of minutes. Upon turning grey, the twins both begin to feel exhausted and dizzy. "Donnie," Leo says nervously, squeezing his twin's hand. "I don't feel so good." "Me too, Nardo," Donnie replies, holding onto Leo's hand for dear life. "Me too."

The twins collapse to the floor as they slowly fade out of consciousness. Just before blacking out, Leo manages to hit the Hamato Clan symbol on Donnie's other wrist and mutter "Help."

While watching “The Clothes Don’t Make The Turtle,” I noticed something.

I found it interesting that Raph, Mikey, and Leo were content with Raph’s outfit choice until Donnie stated that he wasn’t “in love with it, ya’ know.”

Suddenly, Raph declares “I’m a disaster!” Albeit ridiculously endearing, it was a little strange to see his sudden shift from moderately content to absolute dissatisfaction. Huh…

Then, the disaster twins decide to help him out.

Take a note of their outfit choices.

Raph tries on all of these fits and more.

Donnie’s first choice is a mild “no.” Leo’s choice is a hard “NO.” (Not surprising, lol.) But then, the overwhelming consensus lands on Raph’s fourth outfit, which ended up being Donatello’s other pick for his brother.

So, in summary, Raph tried on his personal choice for an outfit, of which they rejected. Then, ultimately, Donatello picked out an outfit for his brother, and that pick ended up being perfect. Hmm…

Then I noticed something else. In this episode, we never get a Donnie “curtain reveal” moment, to our disdain. I mean, Raph, Leo, and Mikey got to try on several different outfits in order to get their brothers' opinions before landing on that “perfect outfit, you know the one.” All of his brothers got to shine. Why not DonTron?

Then it hit me.

The try-ons were to get their brothers' opinions and approval. And, for his brothers' choices, he was a major contributor in assisting them in pulling their looks together.

What if, bear with me, Donnie didn’t need the "curtain scene" because he was so confident in his fashion sense that he didn’t need to ask his brothers for help to pick out a great look.

…or they figured out how to break Hypno’s spell before he could get a “curtain reveal.” BUT STILL-

Look at his outfit choices in this episode. Some of his wardrobe changes were off-screen, but all of them were fire.

(I added the baseball cap pic because it makes me happy. I wish we'd seen more of that fit.)

To me, he makes some really smart choices for himself, pushing the envelope of what is expected and taking chances: an open collar with no tie for a “black tie” event, a beanie and spiked wristbands for their “gansta look,” no socks with loafers (a viral fashion trend that actually began in Africa) with old man slacks in his reclined pose. *muah* Chef’s kiss!

But Don’s fashion sense doesn’t just shine in this episode.

In “Reparin’ the Baron” the boys go to Draxum’s apartment. Leo and Donnie show up in some extra nice “Sunday Dinner” twin drip.

The gold is in the details. Everything Leo is wearing, Donnie rocks its compliment: for Leo’s round collar, Donnie’s is angled, for Leo’s blue shirt, Donnie’s is white, For Leo’s light slacks, Donnie’s are dark. Blah blah blah. It’s so good!

Look at the winter fit in Snow Day.

Again, Donnie is Leo’s perfect compliment. As a pair? Fire.

Donnie has “the eye.” I can go on and on with examples, but I’ve said all of that to say this…

In the future, we see that Donatello’s technology had major pull in the resistance. He had drone ships patrolling the skies. He built and designed Leo’s arm, Casey’s chainsaw-hockey stick, and Casey's mask. The list goes on…

But, when Donatello from the past see’s Casey’s clothing from the future, he says this:

We know about the “Genius Built” brand. We’ve seen that logo on all of his tech up to this point. But, here he didn’t just say “Genius Built.” He said, “Genius Built Apparel.”

“Apparel” is not a tech brand. “Apparel” is a fashion brand. Of course, tech is incorporated into the clothing, but still.

This means that past Donatello secured this trademark with plans of creating a fashion brand, comparable to the likes of Gucci, Ralph Lauren, or any other modern clothing brand, as a subsidiary of “Genius Built,” the tech company.

And why not? The evidence has been in front of us this entire time. He has a sharp eye for style, fashion, and trends. It is easily canon that he can sew. Splinter sewed their ninja garbs in “Insane in the Mama Train,” and there is a sewing machine in the house.

They already learned Ninjutsu through basically osmosis, so learning to sew is not too far-fetched.

And here it is, right in front of us, Casey’s entire ensemble, from mask, to weapons, to clothing, was made by Donatello in the middle of the apocalypse under the brand name “Genius Built Apparel.”

And that was just in the bad future. Resources were limited, they didn’t have access to much of anything in that broken world as they were survivors of a devastating Krang invasion. Yet, he created all of this.

However, now that they’ve changed the future, his future as a fashion designer is limitless. Think of what Donatello could produce with unlimited resources, unlimited technology, and unlimited creative freedom.

Tech genius. Clothing designer. Fashionista. Future Genius Built Apparel Owner and CEO. I’m sorry, but I have to call it...

Donatello Hamato of the present, of the bad future, and of the good future is a fashion icon, the likes of which the world has never seen. ○○○○
