Alright. Talking more about Garroth losing his arm.
Garroth may be lucky, he is ambidextrous. Atleast in mystreet. So atleast we know he'll still be able to write. But what about fighting with one arm and so forth.
You've said that there will be a way for Garroth to learn one armed fighting, but it depends on if he can and wants to do it.
A few interesting notes here.
->It goed against Garroth's fighting style. I think it was you who made that post about fighting styles, with Garroth just packing any punch. One armed fighting doesn't go well with Garroth's fighting style. Getting used to this will likely be quite difficult. Would his armour be enough to just take all the hits?
And, what does he fight with now? What if he fights with a shield. Being like a shield to his allies. Relying on knocking others back. But this would make him pretty reliant on his allies to do the damage.
->if Garroth wouldn't be able to adjust, what would he do then? Is also a good question. Perhaps something with the medical skills he has in Diaries season 1? So he can still protect people in his own way.
Ooooh, all of these are great points and ideas to explore. That's what's always fun about Garroth's character is that he really can go either way just dependent on the circumstances surrounding his losing of an arm.
Even if he's ambidextrous, I don't think he trained using his sword in his left hand very much. He always trained in sword AND shield, always using them in tandem with one another and never on their own. While he could learn to use his sword and still fight, I feel like Garroth at this point would have enough humility to know when he's beat. To know that his days on the front lines are over.
All the guards and kids he raised and trained are taking care of their villages, and Aphmau in her quest to adopt every wayward guard she comes across is protected by plenty. Garroth comes back to a world that's moved on without him, and realizes he might not ever be able to catch up.
I really like the idea of him becoming a healer instead. Honing in on medical skills that he allowed to fall by the wayside previously and accepting that this is the best way he can help. There's obviously that doubt, the loathing, the lamenting, the whole ordeal of Garroth struggling to accept his new life. But once he manages to step up, take the L, and then work on self improvement, he'd be a great healer. I can see him going to Zoey, Lucinda, Cadenza, literally anyone he knows who knows stuff about potions, healing magic, or taking care of people.
He learns every thing he can to properly care for his friends. And he's good at it because he was a guard for most of his life and therefore knows the most common injuries, major or minor, that his friends need treated. Idk the validity of this happening, but massage therapist Garroth is something I've always loved as an idea.
Like it starts with the gang coming back from an adventure and Travis got a little beat up so he goes to Garroth to get the wounds treated, but Garroth starts lecturing him about his posture and body imbalance part way through. He points out that Travis using a single arm to carry a large sword has meant the other half of his body doesn't get exercised as much and therefore throws off his entire balance and makes him more prone to injury. He not only gives Travis' poor aching shoulders a proper massage they need, but also gives him salve to help with muscle straining, and different stretches he can do to balance out his body anymore.
And even if he isn't a front line fighter, he can still train and spar with people. You can still put a sword in his hand and he can go toe to toe with you and explain in detail why he was able to knock you on your ass despite the physical disadvantage. He can still work with someone to figure out what weapon set is best for the way they fight. And he can, as I said before, act as a vector for other guards to realize how fucking unwell they are. Because Garroth didn't realize how much damage being a guard had done until he got his arm ripped off, and he doesn't want anyone else to be pushed to an extreme like that before they realize that they need more help than they let on.

Gene & Aphmau
Currently thinking about how cool it would have been to see Gene and Aphmau’s relationship progress throughout the series. Aphmau’s character starts as this naive but well-meaning girl, while Gene has to pretend he isn’t a murderous Shadowknight. They actually had some endearing moments together, so it would have been interesting to watch Gene unintentionally form a budding friendship with her. He’ll stay a villain and later on betray her, but there’s always going to be something there, you know?
Then when Aphmau eventually becomes more hardened by the world and has to fight against Gene, it could show the complete 180 of their relationship. She knows that he’s the enemy now. They fight, and Gene cockily brings up how dumb she was before and how easy it was to trick her. She says she isn’t that stupid little girl anymore. “Of course,” he says in a taunting tone. “No more saving you from drowning in the river or stopping you from pointing knives at your face.” He laughs. Then, his voice suddenly loses that bravado, and something changes in his eyes. “...It was fun while it lasted, huh?”
A villain that has a secret soft spot for the hero, but it isn’t enough to stop him from his evil ways? It would have given him some depth! He wouldn’t have been a completely one-dimensional antagonist. It would have invoked emotion in the viewers knowing that they could have bonded in another life, and it would have equally pained them to know that Gene and Aphmau are well aware of that fact, too.

I take one break and find out Garroth and Laurance are antagonizing one another subtle enough aphmau isn't noticing.
The fact that I'm the only one who can keep the peace between them is going to drive me crazy.

Slider is twenty-nine the first time he loses the love of his life and thirty-six the second time that happens. Nick was kissing him sweetly that morning, sharing a cup of coffee, lamenting about its sweetness (forty years later and Ron is still drinking the same coffee) and demanding a rematch for the volleyball-thingy (just-wake-uo Nick wasn't the most awake person) the very next day, and by the afternoon, Ron was crying and screaming against Ice's shoulder, bagging his best friend to tell him it was all a bad dream.
With Carole, it is different. Cancer takes her way a little by little, just like Nick's death did. They aren't together anymore, but he's around because she needs help and Bradley needs someone to focus on him. He takes care of Carole and Ice of Bradley, Maverick too. They share good and bad days, long stretches of chemo treatments, and sweet nightmares when Ron dreams of a third body hugging him during the colder hours of that sad winter. Carole dreams of the same thing too. She dies on a sunny Saturday in a forgettable week of February, kissing him goodbye and reminding him that she loves him, as did Nick. She closes her eyes and Tom's hands are big and warm on his skin when he hugs him so strongly he almost stops breathing.
By the time he's in his sixties, he's sure nothing that big is ever going to touch him again. Then Tom's cancer is back and he's saying goodbye to people like he knows he won't be able to beat this. Ron's heart breaks all over again. It's new and bittersweet in all different ways than it was with Carole because Ice doesn't band, doesn't let the cancer beat him until the very end, and no amount of pleading stops him. They go to movies, eat ice cream in places Ron never knew existed, and Tom lets Ron take him up in the air, flying over Lake Superior, because the Apostole Islands are so beautiful this time of year, aren't they?
One of the last times they see each other, Tom says, signs, I'm glad Mav has Penny back in his life. She is good for him, better than I could ever be. And Ron can't muster the strength to do more than cuddle with him on a couch that's too small for two grown men. He would like to shake his friend and tell him that nobody could have been better than him, not in this or another life.
Ron knows is going to happen soon when Tom texts him you were the best RIO and best friend I could ever ask for. I love you. But he doesn't know when. Two days later, he's standing in front of a granite tombstone, trying to not fall apart in front of the entire Navy and a kid, a grown man, who looks like a carbon copy of Carole and Nick.
They are all dead, and he's walking around with ghosts that used to warm his bed, and his day, and photos of a past that used to have a future.

here to spread aromantic aaron propaganda
IMAGINE. Rather than the forced romance plot between he and aphmau we got they could’ve given him no love interest and instead just. a deep love for the family he gets to be apart of since his blood one isn’t very close.
Like: sad reserved lonely guy who had like one (1) friend and that was in high school gets adopted into this big friend group in season 1 by ray of sunshine aphmau, aka said childhood friend. They help break him out of that fear of the whole ultima thing (but without knowing abt that yet) and become the close knit family he craved
tHEn, I think his whole arc in emerald secret would’ve held a lot more weight, bc rather than power of aph love or whatever the fuck it would’ve been him fighting to keep the family he created safe from the thing that tore apart his other one. The secret that made his blood family so distant from each other is now trying to separate this one, and so now it’s him sacrificing himself to keep the people that mean so much to him alive. Not him only really caring what happened to aphmau
Also just making him more pathetic i think would’ve mostly fixed most of his character. Like, this, and making him more like the quiet ‘I’ll just go along with it’ skrungly they picked up would’ve made his character more bearable
I have. too many thoughts about what this would do to the story (AND it would obliterate the aarmau that ruined everything). Just. consider…

Hello! For DADWC the prompt 'after a tough day' from the Touch Prompts list - for Fenris/Hawke if you like writing them or alternatively any Zevran pairing if you preferred 😊
I'm pretty sure this is nothing like what you've expected, but I still hope you like it. <3
A mourning Zevran in exactly 100 words.
Loss
And then it was over. Tabris was posthumously declared the Hero of Ferelden. The newly crowned Alistair made a beautiful speech at the funeral. Zevran stood alone in the back. After losing Rinna, he didn't know whether to thank or curse Tabris for making him want to live again. For making him love again. With the service over, it was Wynne who approached him. "I am sorry for your loss," she placed a hand on his shoulder. She was the first to call it his loss. It felt like permission to grieve and Zevran's dry eyes finally filled with tears.

You need to tag character death. It's literally not an option. It's extremely triggering to a lot of people and it's fucked up to have every single version of major character death tagged and still get triggered and end up in tears and in a horrible mood by posts like yours because you don't tag it.
That’s an awful hostile way of saying “hey newbie you missed a tag” ain’t it
