Dazai's playful grin falters as you chastise him once more, the words punctuated with his name. His last name, once again.

"Why don't you ever call me by my first name?"

Your playful attitude freezes at his question, your fake pout dropping as you turn slack jawed. "W-what?" A stutter passes through your lips as you just continue to stare.

"We've been dating for a few months now, and you never call me by my name." He plays off his words as a joke, something to fluster you, but with the way his fingers slightly pinch and pull at the edges of his bandages, you can tell he's being vulnerable.

An embarrassed blush decorates your face as you just continue to stare at him.

"I'd like it if you'd call me by my name, love." His flirting isn't helpful. From vulnerable fidgets to a cocky grin, Dazai (for once) inaccurately pegs your blush as a flustered reaction, likely feeling shy at the notion he'd now mentioned.

Inaccurate, because it wasn't a matter of not feeling ready, or close enough, but rather because-

"...What's your first name..?"

-you'd forgotten.

Dazai's eyes widen in a rare expression of genuine shock, his movements pausing at your timid question. The embarrassed blush decorating your face that had briefly fooled Dazai only began to grow.

You bury your face in the palms of your hands and let out a groan as Dazai begins laughing: a genuine, gut laugh that you rarely got to hear.

"It's Osamu," he says politely, not wanting to make you any more embarrassed. As you look up from the palms of your hands, you notice Osamu's soft expression and let out a sigh of relief.

You grin. "Nice to meet you, Osamu."

Wilbur had broke up with you over 2 weeks ago, and you hadn’t streamed, posted, or made any presence on social media since then. You didn’t see any point in trying to redeeming yourself, as people would still say the same shit anyway. About how you were using him, how you didn’t deserve your fame, and how you needed to humble yourself.

quite honestly, you hated yourself for not seeing the signs sooner. How Wilbur wanted to ‘Talk’ that one day, or how he became distant for a little bit after you had collaborated on a stream, or when your stream views started to decline. It was so fucking obvious, but you were too caught up in your own emotions to notice.

You hadn’t checked your phone since then either. It had been on ‘Do Not Disturb’ since you went to an old friend, Carissa’s, apartment to stay. The only person who knew you were alive was Carissa, and she was the only one who saw you. As far as everyone else knew, you had disappeared out of nowhere.

But today, for some odd reason, you had the urge to turn your phone off of ‘Do Not Disturb’ and check your notifications.

There were about 2000.

Texts, comments, DMs, and tags had taken over your notifications, mostly people just wondering where you went.

you didn’t know Wilbur stopped posting too. but sure enough, his last tweet was about 3 weeks ago. And his last stream was 15 days ago. He hadn’t been position either, and it was a mystery to you why.

Your vision turned red. after all the shit he said about you, after all the hurtful things he did, after fucking dumping you because of people on twitter, he was begging you to come back. you got up and stomped to your car. Your plan? to go to wilbur’s house and yell at him until you couldn’t yell. or until you passed out.

You pulled into wilbur’s driveway, with nothing but your phone and a lot of angry thoughts. you opened his unlocked door, and found him sleeping on the couch. You got some water from the fridge, brought it over to him, and poured it in his face.

he woke up with a jolt, sputtering and thrashing around like an idiot. he looked at his attacker, who was you, and his eyes lit up.

“YN!” he said, a smile gracing his lips.

“YOU BITCH!” you screamed, wiping the kind look away from his face. "Fucking dump me on the side of the road, then try to get back with me?? cause you realized that your too fucking sad without a girlfriend to stare at? I’m so sorry that YOU brought this upon yourself!” you continued, voice faltering in tears. you didn’t want to cry, but you couldn’t help it. the fact that every single word was true, and not one misunderstood word, made it hurt so much more.

“YN, can i explain?” he asked, eyes looking more sad than anything.

“Explain what? how you-“

you were cut off by a kiss. A gentle, sweet, loving kiss. if you weren’t so mad, you would even admit you liked it. and you couldn’t deny the fact you leaned into it.

He let go, looking at your eyes. “I’m sorry, i shouldn’t have done that. I just hate to see you so mad- and at me, i just didn’t know what to do. can i please explain?”

you let out a loud sigh. “alright, go ahead.”

“Tommy told me that you loved me more than anything in the world, and so did Ran, and Phil too. everyone was saying how much they loved you.. except for the people who didn’t know you. I realized that the only reason people were saying that shit was because they didn’t know you. And if they did, they would never say that about you. Your sweet, smart, funny, beautiful, kind, and an incredible person. and i cannot believe i ever broke up with you. i’m so sorry.” he said everything in a fast paced manner, looking at the floor for the entire time.

your anger melted away. The way he said everything, you knew it was coming right from his heart. he glanced at you for but a second, and you decided to fuck it. you grabbed his face and kissed him, again. this time, it was happy. full of love, and pure joy.

you let go, and gave him a hug, at this point, you were both crying.

“YN, do you forgive me?” he asked, voice cracking.

“Yes, Wil. i forgive you.”

a/n: so sorry i haven't posted in soo long, i have gotten so busy lately !! also this is kinda based on this one tweet(?) i saw about some guy saying "my dad used to take gigantic bites out of my food to "check for poison" and i believed him for 10 years" or smth like that. hope u enjoy! lmk how it is (also i didn't know how to end this LMAO)

"we're home!!" satoru called out to the apartment, holding flowers, followed by a young megumi and tsumiki for the nth time, who held their own bags of food from mcdonalds - with tsumiki carrying an extra one.

"what's this?" you ask, as he hands you the flowers.

"nothin', just thought you would'a liked 'em." he started. "do ya?" he asked.

"yeah, i do, they're lovely, but i was asking about the food." you said. "i was about to start cooking."

"i know." he started, "just thought i would save you the work of cooking and bring back some suuuper good food."

"ohh, and my food's not 'suuuper' good?" you teased.

"of course it is! but it's mcdonalds, sweets, literally nothing beats it!!" he stated, pulling you in by the waist with a sweet smile, and placing his lips onto yours with a soft kiss.

"ew." megumi said, clearly disgusted at the white-haired sorcerer's actions.

"uhm, how about we eat and you guys can do that..later?" tsumiki suggests with a smile.

pulling away, you guide satoru by the hand and make your way to the table. upon opening the bags, you realize there are only 3 meals instead of 4.

"did you not buy yourself anything?" you asked your boyfriend.

"nah, i ate before picking them up." he responded. "hey megumi! before you start eating, let me check for poison in your food." he stated.

"huh? what about tsumiki and m- (y/n)?" megumi responds, quickly correcting himself before anyone noticed, unsure of the request.

"i'm gonna check theirs too. what? you don't want me to check for poison?" satoru retorts. "do you really think i would just let you die if i can do something to prevent it?" he says, trying to persuade the child.

"okay..." megumi says, not fully convinced but handing the bag to satoru anyways.

"great!" he exclaimed, taking a bite and eating almost a quarter of the childs food. "tsumiki, you too!" he says to her, doing the same thing.

"and you, pretty." he says to you, taking a bigger bite out of your food than theirs.

"okay! no poison, you guys can eat." he states happily.

"'kay.." you respond, bewildered by his actions. --------------

after finished the food and cleaning up, it was time for bed. after tucking in tsumiki and megumi, you both head to your own bed. you lay down with the comforter over you and rest your head on satoru's shoulder as he pulls you close to him.

"you know.." you start, "if you were hungry, i could've shared with you"

"i wasn't hungry! i was checking for poison." he retaliates with mock offence.

"okay.. but i don't think they'll believe you again." you say, leaning closer and sealing you lips together into another soft kiss.

"yeah, whatever." he responds, kissing you again. --------------

oh how wrong you were. this whole "checking for poison" act lasted until megumi started the 6th grade, as he decided he didn't need to check for poison and "if he dies, he dies."

"told you it wouldn't last." you said one night, as you laid in bed.

"hmph, whatever, he can die. i don't care!" replied satoru, upset at megumi's new-found independence.

"sure.." you responded with a yawn, snuggling closer and falling asleep.

Can you imagine what partner/group projects would be like with the Cove and MC in school?? (Ignoring the indifferent route) At school Cove sticks to the MC’s side like glue so imagine whenever the teacher announces that the class has to partner up or choose group members to do a project Cove just SPRINTS to stand beside you and grabs your hand to ask if you can work together (In step 1 I can just see Cove side eyeing any other group members that he has to work with) But also if the teachers like “Oh but you can’t choose who you work with it’s assigned” poor Cove will just complain to you the entire time if you end up not being able to work together, he’s all pouty like >:(

well if its in step 2, you get things done

not without lots of joking and daydreaming, but it gets done eventually

whereas in step 3, dating or crush, there's lots of flirting n hushed giggles.... like nothing gets done LMAO

either way (although especially in step 3) teachers get tired of your shit and decide to assign partners just to get everyone to socialize with others n blah blah blah

(i can barely say this bc i hate it sm!!! i was and am very shy so teachers forcing me outta my bubble had me fucked.... yes im traumatized jus thinking abt it omg i hate teachers, they think they know what theyre doing but this is a lot more damaging than they think ANYWAY MOVING ON OKOK)

cove will fret abt it the whole day, is dreading doing the assignment bc they wanna do it with you and not some stranger or some mean/rowdy classmate

omg during step 1 he's so clingy too, starts moving towards you for any group or pair assignment

at some point snaps abt how its ridiculous they're forcing him to be friends with other kids bc he doesn't like them like that n they don't like him like that and why force a shy kid to do smth they dont want.....

yeah your parents have to keep going to school to talk w the teacher abt this, its tough

by step 3 he can put up with it, but he's texting you like the whole time or getting ready to see you and if his group mates complain its "i did my part of the assignment."

can't even complain bc he did it and he did it right

when you do work together it's the most coordinated shit ever

somehow, even between lots of goofing around and a bit of flirting it gets done on time and if you have to present its done right

you're coordinated, n like a oiled machine

like i said cove takes on whatever you can't

if its for the same class n assignment, you'll go look for the books n stuff you need together at least

the division of elves and later men in distinct tribes, some of which are defined by where they ended their migration journey, imo suffers from now-outdated philology theories and from the application of inaccurate roman ethnography to germanic tribes.

the stark distinction between "celtic" and "germanic" as divided by the river rhine exists because of julius caesar, whose testimony in his "de bello gallico" is the only one we have until pretty much 150 years later, with tacitus' "germania". the arbitrary division filtered through roman ethnography was exacerbated by romanticism and its archaeology, which clung to the idea of the tribes in search of a germanic identity.

there is a guy called gustav kossinna who lived up to 1930 circa who promoted what we'd call an ethnic archaeology. according to which, if you find smth that seems to belong to craftmanship of X group, then X group lived there and continuously identified throughout centuries as "being" said group. obviously this doesn't take into account things such as commerce, luxury goods, mixing of peoples, migrations, and the way the tribes actually understood themselvs, i.e. not as "germanic" as an ethnicity, and often not fixedly belonging only to a specific group. tribes were segmentary, open, and non-fixed. unsurprisingly, kossinna was popular within a... certain type of political circles. anyway this is to say that the division of elves during the great journey into three tribes (guess into how many great groups tacitus divides the germanic peoples) — that in NoME don't even intermarry except among their leading families (??) might be possibly a deliberate play on this older understanding, or a consequence of it. ot both.

(for the record, I put this on twitter and some guy quoted my tweet about Kossinna to promote his translation of Kossinna's work. you know, the part where I saw this man's was popular among. certain circles. being on twt sometimes feels like starring in one of those tv shows where you're filmed while getting pranked.)

Basically they all got butthurt about it LMAOOO they tried their best to give out their defenses and reasons. it was so stupid. That almost made me lose respect in adults in certain fandoms.

I still can't forget the time someone doxxed a user JUST FOR BEING BLACK AND TRANS... That's so disgusting. I can't believe we went passed that because it's always in my brain.

And that one time I saw a post that was "exposing" someone for race faking and I KNEW DAMN WELL HOW SUSPICIOUS IT WAS ONCE I SAW THE SCREENSHOT PROVIDED OF THE SOMEONE SAYING "Japan doesn't support sh0tacon yall are fucking gross"

Meaning they only posted the "exposed" tweet so they could cancel a person who didn't like sh0t4c0n. Ok. Wow.

Anyways twst twitter is gross and toxic don't talk about drama on there if u don't wanna get doxxed.

I've always wondered too. Because people are too sure!!! Lol like they bet their lives on it.

I haven't seen any unofficial Jikookery stuff so I go with what I can see and interpret, some unofficial tea that floats around twitterland every now and then and wish them both the best...which is each other lol

As for official content, the moment that made me think they were legit and together together was the btb of Jhope's album release party. This:

That is my #1 Jikook moment of all time. More than all the gcfTokyo, Rose Bowl, footsies and more in BV, and literally everything they've ever done and said.

But let's watch all the btb because I love Hobi.

saw a tweet about how shipping two characters because they'd be "trauma buddies" would be a toxic relationship and that the OP knew from experience. i can't help but feel maybe they had a point, but at the same time im conflicted

Same energy as that one person in the shadowhunters fandom who said shipping Alec Lightwood and Sebastian Morgenstern is homophobic because it'd be an unhealthy relationship.

It's one thing to like. Warn people about a dynamic if you think they wouldn't want to engage with smth if they had all the info (flashbacks to American Gods fadom and people shipping Mr. Wednesday/Shadow Moon (spoiler: they're father/son, and for a lot of people that makes them not want to ship it) but you can like. Warn people without being judgy. You don't have to be judgy when explaining context. This sounds so judgy? Like it doesn't matter if irl it'd be toxic cuz it's not irl. Like this does not sound like a psa meant for fluff shippers.

If you feel like they have a point abt the ship dynamic and it changes your view of the pairing, it's fine! But you can like. Warn abt shit without being Weird abt it and from your reaction it does not sound like they're being unbiased with their own views on fiction.
