🌌 Milky Way - What is the character development like for your characters? Do they change a lot or not much at all?

I'd like to think the changes are subtle, but they end up being quite drastic changes. I like to change the setting or environment up on my characters for plot twists or to amp up the tension, forcing the character to change their perspective and to adapt. This sounds very fucked up of me but I then like to break the character down mentally and see how they fall apart for the climax of the plot. After this, the characters' thoughts get reframed or seen in a different light. Sometimes it's positive, other times its not.
