at the risk of sounding like really entitled….
does anyone else have a fic that is their most popular, but you don’t want it to be, because you don’t think it deserves it, and you have better stuff, and while ofc you are grateful that people like something you wrote, it’s almost annoying that for some reason That one is the most popular. lmao

Been seein some rather cold takes about Daisy lately…
I’ve seen some people say that she has no personality outside of fanon, but that’s just not true. There is a very very common misconception among the fandom (at least that I’ve noticed) that if a character doesn’t appear in a “mainline” game, then they have no personality. But I’d argue that the spinoffs actually offer waaaaay more in terms of looking into character personalities. And no, I’m not talking about the RPGs ala M&L and Paper Mario as those are obviously full of personality (and Daisy isn’t in those). I’m talking about the Party, Kart, Tennis, and other sports games.
Yes, Daisy hasn’t appeared in any mainline game since her debut, but she’s been in nearly every sports game and her traits, stats, abilities, victory/loss animations, and various other tiny details add up to her personality. The fact that she’s nearly always yelling or just speaking really loud in general (noticeably more than any other character), the fact that she constantly feels a need to say her name and make herself known, how she loves flowers and considers even a small patch of flowers worth protecting, how she’s easily bored by tasks that don’t excite her and isn’t so reliable for them. She tends to jump around a lot, and spin and dance around when she’s excited! She’s apparently a rather fast runner and that is considered her specialty! These are all traits that are displayed in the spinoffs, and there’s probably soooo many more that I just can’t remember right now.
Now, I do think her tomboyish nature is probably fanon, as I don’t really remember seeing anything to show that she acts that way in the games. I think people probably think she’s tomboyish due to how loud and energetic she is. But hey, there’s plenty of fanon for just about any character from any fandom out there. And what’s so wrong with that? Isn’t the whole point of making fanworks to expand on the framework already provided by canon? If we want to stick to what’s actually “canon” then nearly everything the fandom has created would have to be tossed, because there really isn’t much to work with. Fanworks and fandoms thrive on what fans can create based on the canon work, not just sticking to it perfectly.
It’s fine if you think the “fanon” Daisy outshines the “canon” Daisy and you dislike that. But to say that she has no personality aside from fanon interpretations just tells me that you have a very narrow idea of what counts as “canon” in an already rather simplistic world. The Mario games are very simple and straightforward without much consistent lore that actually makes sense cohesively, but the characters are what keep everything tied together despite that. The characters are nearly always consistent, and that includes Daisy. Even when the setting is completely different and some random new villain shows up with some random new power source to steal or species to torment, our same well-known lovable characters will be the center of the story and that’s what makes it fun!

Every once in awhile I remember this one weirdo in the YouTube comment section that saw my very emotional response under a video about a child mummy and said something like “lmao you fucking looser libtard. The kid died thousands of years ago, you and your stupid feelings, blah blah” and I roasted the guy in the replies, and a bunch of other people shamed him because “what the actual fuck? We are being emotional about a child mummy. What is wrong with you?” To the point where he just deleted his comment and I’m like, why though? What did he have to gain from replying to someone’s emotional response to a documentary about a child mummy and just, mock them? Because they found the act of a family caring for their dead two year old moving? Why???? You are literally just setting yourself up for a verbal beating. It wasn’t even in a political video, it was a DOCUMENTARY about a CHILD MUMMY. I can’t comprehend how that seemed like a good idea? Or why it was an idea at all? It was funny to see him get the verbal shit beaten out of him, but why would you respond like that in the first place??? Did he just go around YouTube trying to find people talking about feelings so he could try and, what, shame them politically??? Literally what was the point? Beyond comprehension.

i’ve had this extra shitty feeling lingering over me all semester and it’s doing such a fantastic job at getting the best of me. my friend group since the first year keeps proving time and time again they care more about each other even when i go out of my way to make sure they’re alright and make sure everybody else avoids things that would upset others. feelings get hurt a lot otherwise. a few nights back i took my a few of my friends out to eat and pay for part of their meals (context: my dad’s boss gets tipped through gift cards sometimes and he gave me a few so it wasn’t exactly out of my pocket). i told my best friend i haven’t been really been feeling my best so to take it easy on me since our other two friends have been deeply upsetting me all week by saying genuinely hurtful shit. and then in the middle of a very stressful meal he started telling me about how his sister’s boyfriend was saying weird shit abt me and her boyfriend doesn’t like me (i have never had a proper conversation with either one of these people) and i ended up fucking bawling lmfaoooo. i guess my friends froze because i’m the “tough friend” so i’m not allowed to cry but it ended up with in me comforting them which is so odd? i get not everyone you encounter will be your #1 fan but if someone pulls you aside and says hey man i haven’t been feeling great lately why would you say that at that time ??? lmfao
(goes without saying but d-on.t r.-b pls)

The JLD and the entire supernatural community believe that Batman is something supernatural. They can’t agree on what he is but they know he’s very strong and very good at playing human.
This is also one of the reasons that people believe that Gotham is so cursed. Batman is allowing his power to seep into the mortal world and is clearly using the city for something. A prevailing theory is that the bat has been in Gotham for a while and just began using his human disguise.
Everyone has some kind of theory for what batman is.
From a monster that escaped Tartarus to a shadow that gained sentience.
It’s also important to mention that the it is very hard for someone supernatural to hide as a marmalade human. They have to be so weak that they don’t have much of a signature to hide or strong enough to overpower their own signature.
Entities weak enough to hide their signature don’t tend to last long. Entities strong enough to hide their signature tend to destroy worlds for fun.
There is so much chaos and batman is not aware of any of it.
