I would never be able to express how I felt when I read the Shatter Me series, how I get so attached to the characters, to Aaron specially in Believe me how he felt like a (I don’t know if this was the right word) a burden on the person he loved how lonely he got without Juliette.

It’s supposed to be a happy book but it’s was the book I cried the most on

Hi Chai, same anon who added onto shitcastle anon's Protagonist Barbie Wire idea and thought up Blitz/Seir, back with another "what if". What if Glitz and Glam were actually written as parallels to Fizz?
Instead of just being another set of women viv wants us to hate, have them being hardworking yet optimistic women who see this Mammon contest as a way to move up in the world. This could explain why they're so mean to Fizz when they first meet him, as he's the one person stopping them from making it big, and from their perspective his involvement in the contest could just come off as gatekeeping the new talent from getting a glamorous job. Only for this assumption to be shattered when the girls hear "2 minute notice" and realize how abusive their would-be boss is.
This could lead to a scene right before Mammon disappears where he's like "oh well I don't need you, not with the twins here taking your place" only for Glitz and Glam to leave, not wanting to work in such an abusive environment. The girls could give a quick sorry to Fizz on their way out, or maybe have them give their own fuck you to Mammon.
Hope you have a great day Chai! Signed, the What If Anon
This would have been such a simple, easy, but powerful addition it makes me legit mad that we didn't get something like this.

The Song of Deborah and Barak
1 Later that day, Deborah and Abinoam’s son Barak celebrated by singing this song:
2 “When hair grows long in Israel,    when the people give themselves willingly,        bless the Lord! 3 Listen, you kings!    Turn your ears to me, you rulers! As for me, to the Lord I will sing!    I will sing praise to the Lord God of Israel.
4 Lord, when you left Seir,    when you marched out        from the grain field of Edom, the earth quaked    and the heavens poured out rain;        indeed, the clouds poured out water. 5 Mountains tremble at the presence of the Lord —    even Sinai!—at the presence of the Lord God of Israel. 6 During the lifetime of Anath’s son Shamgar    and during the lifetime of Jael highways remained deserted,    while travelers kept to back roads. 7 Rural populations plummeted in Israel;    until I, Deborah, arose;        until I—an Israeli mother—arose. 8 New gods were chosen,    then war came to the city gates, but there wasn’t a shield or spear to be seen    among 40,000 soldiers of Israel. 9 My heart is for the commanders of Israel,    to those who work willingly among the people.        Bless the Lord!
10 “Speak up, you who ride white donkeys,    sitting on cloth saddles        while you travel on your way! 11 From the sound of those who divide their work loads    at the watering troughs, there they will retell the righteous deeds of the Lord,    the righteous victories for his rural people in Israel.”
Then the people of the Lord went down to the gates.
12 “Wake up! Wake up, Deborah!    Wake up! Wake up, Deborah! Get up, Barak, and dispose of your captives,    you son of Abinoam! 13 Then the survivors approached the nobles;    the people of the Lord approached me in battle array. 14 Some came from Ephraim    who had been harassed by Amalek,        followed by Benjamin with your people. Some commanders came from Machir,    along with some from Zebulun        who carry a badge of office. 15 The officials of Issachar were with Deborah,    as was the tribe of Issachar and Barak. They rushed out into the valley at his heels    along with divisions from Reuben’s army.        Great was their resolve of heart! 16 Why did you sit down among the sheepfolds?    To hear the bleating of the flocks? Among the divisions of the army of Reuben    there was great searching of heart. 17 The tribe of Gilead remained    on the other side of the Jordan River. As for the tribe of Dan,    why did they stay on board their ships? The tribe of Asher sat by the seashore    and remained near its harbors. 18 The tribe of Zebulun did not worry about their lives    at the price of death; neither did the tribe of Naphtali also    on high places of the field.
19 “Kings came to fight,    then battled the kings of Canaan        at Taanach near the waters of Megiddo. They took no silver    as the spoils of war. 20 The stars fought from heaven;    they fought against Sisera from their orbits. 21 The current of the Kishon River swept them downstream,    that ancient current, the Kishon’s current!        March on strongly, my soul! 22 Then loud was the beat of the horses’ hooves—    from the galloping, galloping war steeds!
23 “‘Meroz is cursed!’ declared the angel of the Lord.    ‘Utterly and totally cursed are its inhabitants, because they never came to the aid of the Lord,    to the aid of the Lord against the valiant warriors!’”
24 “Blessed above all women is Jael,    wife of Heber the Kenite;        most blessed is she among women who live in tents! 25 Sisera asked for water—    she gave him milk.        In a magnificent bowl she brought him yogurt! 26 She reached out one hand for the tent peg,    and her other for the workman’s mallet. Then she struck Sisera,    smashing his head,        shattering and piercing his temple. 27 He crumpled to the ground between her feet,    where he fell down and collapsed. Between her feet he crumpled,    Fallen dead!
28 “Back at home, out the window Sisera’s mother peered,    lamenting through the lattice. ‘Why is his chariot delayed in returning?    ‘Why do the hoof beats of his chariots wait?’ 29 Her wise attendants find an answer for her;    in fact, she tells the same words to herself: 30 ‘They’re busy finding and dividing the war booty, aren’t they?    A girl or two for each valiant warrior, and some dyed materials for Sisera—    perhaps dyed, embroidered war booty— or some detailed embroidery for my neck    as the booty of war!
31 “May all of your enemies perish like this, Lord!    But may those who love him be        like the ascending sun in its strength!”
Then the land enjoyed quiet for 40 years. — Judges 5 | International Standard Version (ISV) The International Standard Version of the Holy Bible Copyright © 1995-2014 by ISV Foundation. Judge 5: Deborah And Barak Sings God's Praises And Victories Over Sisera, Jabin And The Canaanites
1 On that day Deborah and Barak son of Abinoam sang this song:
2 “When the princes in Israel take the lead,     when the people willingly offer themselves—     praise the Lord!
3 “Hear this, you kings! Listen, you rulers!     I, even I, will sing to the Lord;     I will praise the Lord, the God of Israel, in song.
4 “When you, Lord, went out from Seir,     when you marched from the land of Edom, the earth shook, the heavens poured,     the clouds poured down water.
5 The mountains quaked before the Lord, the One of Sinai,     before the Lord, the God of Israel.
6 “In the days of Shamgar son of Anath,     in the days of Jael, the highways were abandoned;     travelers took to winding paths.
7 Villagers in Israel would not fight;     they held back until I, Deborah, arose,     until I arose, a mother in Israel.
8 God chose new leaders     when war came to the city gates, but not a shield or spear was seen     among forty thousand in Israel.
9 My heart is with Israel’s princes,     with the willing volunteers among the people.     Praise the Lord!
10 “You who ride on white donkeys,     sitting on your saddle blankets,     and you who walk along the road, consider
11 the voice of the singers at the watering places.     They recite the victories of the Lord,     the victories of his villagers in Israel.
“Then the people of the Lord     went down to the city gates.
12 ‘Wake up, wake up, Deborah!     Wake up, wake up, break out in song! Arise, Barak!     Take captive your captives, son of Abinoam.’
13 “The remnant of the nobles came down;     the people of the Lord came down to me against the mighty.
14 Some came from Ephraim, whose roots were in Amalek;     Benjamin was with the people who followed you. From Makir captains came down,     from Zebulun those who bear a commander’s staff.
15 The princes of Issachar were with Deborah;     yes, Issachar was with Barak,     sent under his command into the valley. In the districts of Reuben     there was much searching of heart.
16 Why did you stay among the sheep pens     to hear the whistling for the flocks? In the districts of Reuben     there was much searching of heart.
17 Gilead stayed beyond the Jordan.     And Dan, why did he linger by the ships? Asher remained on the coast     and stayed in his coves.
18 The people of Zebulun risked their very lives;     so did Naphtali on the terraced fields.
19 “Kings came, they fought,     the kings of Canaan fought. At Taanach, by the waters of Megiddo,     they took no plunder of silver.
20 From the heavens the stars fought,     from their courses they fought against Sisera.
21 The river Kishon swept them away,     the age-old river, the river Kishon.     March on, my soul; be strong!
22 Then thundered the horses’ hooves—     galloping, galloping go his mighty steeds.
23 ‘Curse Meroz,’ said the angel of the Lord.     ‘Curse its people bitterly, because they did not come to help the Lord,     to help the Lord against the mighty.’
24 “Most blessed of women be Jael,     the wife of Heber the Kenite,     most blessed of tent-dwelling women.
25 He asked for water, and she gave him milk;     in a bowl fit for nobles she brought him curdled milk.
26 Her hand reached for the tent peg,     her right hand for the workman’s hammer. She struck Sisera, she crushed his head,     she shattered and pierced his temple.
27 At her feet he sank,     he fell; there he lay. At her feet he sank, he fell;     where he sank, there he fell—dead.
28 “Through the window peered Sisera’s mother;     behind the lattice she cried out, ‘Why is his chariot so long in coming?     Why is the clatter of his chariots delayed?’
29 The wisest of her ladies answer her;     indeed, she keeps saying to herself,
30 ‘Are they not finding and dividing the spoils:     a woman or two for each man, colorful garments as plunder for Sisera,     colorful garments embroidered, highly embroidered garments for my neck—     all this as plunder?’
31 “So may all your enemies perish, Lord!     But may all who love you be like the sun     when it rises in its strength.”
Then the land had peace forty years.

Tumblr media
(New Angel Fish design by @slytherkins!!)
Every month all of you fantastic writers work your asses off to post some truly incredible stories. Our Angel Fish Awards are the way for all of us, as a community of writers and readers, to lift each other up and give praise to those who have captured our attention and deserve a few kind words.
The monthly Angel Fish Awards are peer-nominated, meaning ANYONE IN THE POND CAN NOMINATE ANY POND MEMBER’S FIC. While the Pond was founded to support the Guppies, everyone in this community deserves to be showered with love and feedback, and we hope that by opening this up as a Pond wide system, we’ll be able to share the love as far as it can go.
NOTE: WE’VE BEEN HAVING OCCASIONAL PROBLEMS WITH ASKS GOING MISSING. Please use the Submit button when submitting your nominations and make sure you’re signed into Tumblr or your URL won’t show. (If the form asks for your name and email address, then you’re not signed in.) If you like, you can also send a message to Michelle @mrswhozeewhatsis or Mana @manawhaat to check and make sure we got your submission.
**Also, due to the number of afas and multiple nominations, each person on this list will only be tagged once. Please be sure to read the entire post so you don’t miss multiple nominations/comments!**

Tumblr media
Nominated by @thoughtslikeaminefield
Slow (oneshot) by @sunlightdances
Intimacy is sooooo sexy xox
Nominated by @manawhaat
Ritual (oneshot) by @winchester-fantasies
This fic is grounded, subtle, realistic, and has an incredible energy between Dean and the reader! There’s so many little things that play into the bigger picture to make this really flow and work seamlessly as a whole!
Temporary Scars (series) by @thoughtslikeaminefield
Fucking hell. Dean x Donna x Benny is such a rare pair that it’s NOT something I knew I needed, but everything about this dynamic is fucking perfect. It’s a bit of an AU, but I still love the way each character was represented. What they all brought to the table and how they balanced each other out in exactly the ways they needed. There’s a dynamic here that I haven’t seen before, especially not with THESE characters, and they complement each other fucking GORGEOUSLY!
Boyking fic (oneshot) by @whispersandwhiskerburn
This shit is fucking CRAFTY! There’s a lot of little things that carry through this and the way that ‘control’ is presented in each scene of this fic is very cool.
Calm (series) by @winchesterswoonathon
Oof! This John series just totally fucks me up. It’s perfect in the way you swoon over him and yearn to see a side of him he so rarely shows others. Maggie definitely knows how to nail the pining for John angle!
Dream Drabble (oneshot) by @theychosefamily
Sam’s comfort and sincerity in this kill me! It may have been inspired by a dream, but this tracks so well for each of them and could definitely be a scene plucked from the show!
The Unexpected (oneshot) by @impalaimagining
Goddamn this is sexy as all hell! It’s intense and passionate and scary and dazzlingly wonderful!
Nominated by @flamencodiva
Three’s A Crowd (series) by @1000roughdrafts
So I was browsing Kay’s Masterlist and came upon this very lovely Gem! I would love to see what happens next and I know Kay is extremely busy, but she is a talented writer and I wanted to put this lovely work out there. It is a wonderful concept and I can’t wait to see what happens!
Just Me & My Baby (oneshot) by @deanwinchesterswitch
A good way to rot your teeth with Dean fluff. This story pulls on your heartstrings and can be just what you need when you feel down.
The Pact (series) by @coffee-obsessed-writer
This is an amazing AU Sam Fic! It is well written and traps you into the fantasy world from the very beginning. I can’t wait to see the roller coaster that is this story as it is beginning to unfold!
Nominated by @deanwanddamons
The Sullivan Series (series) by @katehuntington
I binge read this series and adore it. Zoe is such a badass and an awesome OFC.
It is so good it could easily be written as a series of SPN and I am really hoping it is continued as I can’t wait for the next series. Kate is such an awesome person, hugely supportive and a big influence on me as a writer. This series deserves so much more recognition.
Ride With Me (seires) by @katehuntington
This series is divine. I am so invested in this right now. The way Kate writes is a true inspiration to me and this AU is stunning. Her story telling and descriptions are totally immersive and I am so excited to see where she takes us on this journey.
He’s Not You (series) by @mummybear
This series is awesome! It’s really building momentum and I’m loving where it’s going. Such a great idea for a story and can’t wait to see where Chelsea takes us!
The Man on the Side of the Road (series) by @supernatural-jackles
This series was beautiful. I was so invested in this and so sad when it came it an end. It was very cathartic for me to read as I related to the reader so much.
Shatter Me (series) by  @winchest09
This series is incredible. Such a superb concept and I love the way it has been written. The feeling of isolation and Dean’s desperation to save her had me engrossed all the way through. A must read.
D.W. (oneshot) by @kittenofdoomage
I have recently ventured into dark fic and was recommended this.
Demon!Dean is just 🔥 and this fic is dark, sexy and very explicit. And holy shit I LOVED IT!
Nominated by @moosekateer13
House of the Rising Sun (series) by @kittenofdoomage
What I really loved about it shows the love can change your whole perspective of the world when love is thrown into the mix.
The Ones You Love (series) by @kittenofdoomage
It shows how far the Winchester's are willing go when it comes to their family.
Cosa Nostra (series) by @kittenofdoomage
Loved how in the end love and their bond was stronger than an obstacles that were thrown in their way.
Paid In Full (series) by @kittenofdoomage
Loved it! It taught you look past what you see at first.
Poor Little Rich Girl (series) by @winchesterprincessbride
Love how it showed the money is isn't everything love is more important.
Political Animals  (series) by @winchesterprincessbride
Loved the sometimes it showed the its better to break away from people who are trying to control your life.
Bed of Roses (series) by @crispychrissy
Loved how it to taught you to look past first impressions and that there is always more than meets the eye.
Nominated by @thegirlwhorunswithwinchesters
Control and Release - 30 (series) by @thecleverdame
I think I might’ve nominated this series before, when I wasn’t caught up yet, but I am now and I just have to recommend this chapter. The entire story is gold but this chapter in particular had me sucked right into the scene at the end. The intensity of the fight and the way they deal with everything that is going on; the emotions, the worlds outside of their little bubble of safety. I don’t want to say too much and spoil it for whoever hasn’t read this series yet. But, if you are one of those people, I highly recommend you change that ASAP.
The Secrets We Keep (series) by @princessmisery666
Better late than never, right? At least that’s what I’m telling myself to ease the guilt I’m feeling for how long it took me to finally read this series like I said I would. I didn’t enjoy it any less, that’s for sure. And that was even before I got to the twist that made it even better. I loved the vulnerability between Sam and Erin, and the different kind of friendship she had with Dean.
Cabin Fever (long oneshot) by @slytherkins
I’ve already attempted (and failed) to express my thoughts on this story to the author privately, so I won’t try again here, in risk of my heart shattering all over again. But what I definitely will say (and I will break into my upstairs neighbor’s apartment to scream it from their balcony if I have to) is this: STOP WHAT YOU’RE DOING and go read this fic if you haven’t already. It’s a heavy read, yes. But it is more than worth it, I promise you.
Equanimous (oneshot) by @imagineteamfreewill
I love the tension in this scene. The boys are so in character and I could picture the demons perfectly. And, of course, Cas storming in, being badass, and saving the day, that’s always a plus.
Non-existent (oneshot) by @waywardjoy
I’m definitely a sucker for a good crack-fic. To be honest, when I read the summary I was already sold. That signature bickering between the boys never gets old, does it?
Nominated by @impalaimagining
Handy Man (oneshot) by @deanwanddamons
Physically speaking, on the list of things I love about Dean Winchester, this checks almost every single box. I love the little things you’re noticing about Dean as the reader - his freckles, the contrast between his skin and the black shirt he’s wearing, exactly which Zeppelin song he’s singing while he works. The teasing is a nice touch too, especially the line about the night before. Proud Dean is so cute, and it’s exactly how I would expect him to react to being the hero around the house.
Nominated by @impala-dreamer
Almost Paradise (oneshot) by @amanda-teaches
Amanda always always writes the fluff so well, but this little bit of bittersweet longing is delicious. Also, she nails Dean EVERY TIME. One of those writers who just gets Dean’s voice down so perfectly. Very Very well done!
Enough Time (oneshot)  by @dissect-me
I was just scrolling the pond list and found this wonderful Destiel fic. I mean… the emotions were intense and I was a mess by the end. Just lovely and so well done. I will be diving back through their masterlist for more Destiel!!
  Nominated by @kittenofdoomage
Life For Rent (series) by @winchest09
@katehuntington told me to go read this so I did and I do not regret it. An amazingly sexy (and at times, heartbreaking) series, not for the faint of heart. Totally waiting on edge for the next chapter.
Call Of The Ocean (series) by @flamencodiva and @anatheweirdo
I’m fairly certain I’ve nominated this before but it’s so good, I’m gonna nominate it again. You will absolutely become invested in Thasman’s well-being.
Nominated by @fangirlxwritesx67
Communion (oneshot) by @thoughtslikeaminefield
But Dean’s natural state is this – nesting, nuzzling, curled up and warm. He speaks softly and quietly. His voice isn’t always rough and hard. He sings. MY FEELS. This is beautiful and heart-wrenching all at once.
Sex with Dean is always really good. A lot of times it’s a rushed, life-affirming kind of thing. So when we have time, every touch is at once charged and grounded. And when we have time and are also able to imbibe? It’s metamorphic. All of this, just one perfect line after another. WOW
Just to be his in our own little bubble. And this, this is exactly how this story feels- so close and heavy and perfect Amazing work,.Like, really astounding.
Synesthesia (oneshot) by @there-must-be-a-lock
Lou took this prompt and did something wildly creative! It’s so well done that the reader can see and feel and taste it.
Wild Thing (series) by @there-must-be-a-lock
I am in love with the Everything series so, so much. Lou has done a beautiful job of building a world with J2 x reader, so loving and creative and hot. This one is, for sure, a favorite! Incorporates one of my favorite quotes into a smoking hot fic. Good work!!
Dear Mr. Fantasy (oneshot) by @itmighthavebeenintentional
But there’s one particular Other Dean, a favorite one his mind drifts to during rare peaceful moments. Daydreaming when he should be researching, drifting off when a particular song plays on the radio while he’s working on Baby, even washing his hands sometimes will pull him back to those dreams.
6 paragraphs in, and I knew Val was going to break my heart. This is a gorgeous gorgeous story! Creative premise, great characterization, and written so that you can see and taste and feel every moment.
I found myself wanting to both read faster, and slow down and savor it. And yes, it broke my heart, but so beautifully that I would let it happen over and over again.
Weight (oneshot) by @67midnightwriter
This one is short and both painful and beautiful. So very heavy with experience and meaning. An excellent example of the ways that our favorite characters can help inspire us, lift us and encourage us to keep going
The Second Hand Unwinds (oneshot) by @mskathywriteswords
Kathy is new-ish to the SPN family but not to either writing or fandom, and it is immediately apparent in her first piece of SPN fanfic. Her creative storyline, her grasp of the characters, and her way with words make it immediately apparent that you are reading the work of a master!
Salvation (oneshot) by @dontshootmespence
This story feels like an episode of the show from earlier seasons, just the right balance of angst and monster fighting with tantalizing peeks of smut and feels. Excellent job!
There are no words that come close to explaining what she means to him. How she saves what soul he has left. These flashback scenes are both hot and tender. The voice the author  gives to Sam is spot on, achingly familiar. The contrast between the flashbacks and the action is painfully good.
What’s more frightening, a man like Dean, practiced in his violence out of necessity? Or a man like him, on the verge of losing everything and nothing left to lose? This is a well drawn distinction between the Winchester brothers, and such a good characterization of Sam! It’s easy to forget sometimes what a fearsome hunter he is, but this author reminds us with razor sharp clarity.
“You’re safe with me, Sam. You never have to hide from me.“ Such a beautiful relationship between Sam and this woman! It’s no wonder he’s fighting so hard to save her.
This story has an imaginative plot, fast paced action and some sweet hotness! Plus the author does such a good job with Sam, I’m in love with him all over again. I haven’t read this author much before but you’d better believe I won’t miss a story now!
Casual Affair (oneshot) by @fookinghelljensensthighs
This Dean x Benny fic is short, smoking hot and painfully good. A must read!
Nominated by @mariekoukie6661
The Force of Habit (series) by @littlegreenplasticsoldier
I read that series at least 3 times now. I love this story, its witty and funny. This fic just makes me smile without trying! Even after reading 3 times, I still thoroughly enjoyed it like it was the first time.
Satisfied (series) by @crashdevlin
This is so good, the emotion that this series makes me feel is just out of this world!
Dangerous Signs (series) by @kittenofdoomage
Rhi always has brilliant idea!!! This is one of those and I just can’t get enough of her writing.
Control and Release (series) by @thecleverdame
What start as mostly just porn turned into such a great series with twist and turns!
Hunger (oneshot0 by @impala-dreamer
Oof… what to say about this? it’s Beka! It’s hot and sweaty and makes me want more! Like everything she writes!
Nominated by @myinconnelly1

Say My Name (oneshot) by @idabbleincrazy
Smoking hot! While in general Baby-girl is a turn off for me, this fic is so far from it! funny at the start with some cracky dean who is caught in the middle, then getting some possessive Sam which is like my fav!

Just. HOT. Hot hot hot like burning. Dom!Cas playing Dean like a goddamn fiddle... what more can you ask for!?
Come For Me (oneshot) by @fangirlxwritesx67
My favorite thing this author has published so far! There are a whole lot of emotions in this one, adrenaline and fear and relief and lust and tenderness, and you can feel the depth of everything going on between them and the chaos of the moment. Also, nailed the “oh shit where did this predatory hotass come from” feeling that I totally imagine would happen during a first time with Sammy.
Plus One (oneshot) by @thoughtslikeaminefield
This is smutty and raunchy and HOT but it also manages to nail the sweet, loving side of Dean. Smut can so easily be one-dimensional, but this fic managed to be both filthy and tender in a way that feels 150% true to character.
Dear Mr. Fantasy (oneshot) by @itmighthavebeenintentional
An absolutely stunning exploration of some parallel universe Deans. Gorgeously vivid language, such incredible character accuracy, borderline heartbreaking but in a way that isn’t hopeless; it makes you feel FULL. My favorite SPN fic I’ve read in a long time.
The Second Hand Unwinds (oneshot) by @mskathywriteswords
Incredibly evocative, gorgeous wistful tone, and a couple little plot twists that hit you with all the right feels.
Nominated by @winchest09
All I Want (series) by @katehuntington
I love this, so much. I love the take on this particular episode and how in fact it brings back the reader instead of *spoiler*. It’s still ongoing and it’s already tugging on heartstrings and has made me cry so if you read this, grab your tissues!
Ride With Me (series) by @katehuntington
This series has my heart. Like this could be a published book that i would read cover to cover, over and over. The spine would be broken, pages glued in because i would have read it that much. How everything is described, how the world is painted, the characters, the setting…just everything. It’s a must read..A MUST READ.
I Just Called to Say I Love You (series) by @talesmaniac89
This broke my heart. This was so beautifully written to the point i was sobbing behind my screen mumbling incoherent words to my husband before talking to a few other tumblr blogs about it. If you read this, have tissues handy. Dean was so in character and my heart will never be the same. Must read.
The Man In Apartment 43 (series) by @talesmaniac89
This series has me so intrigued! It’s written amazingly, has me gasping, has me seriously flinching at some of the creepy goings on and I cannot wait to see where this goes! It’s an ongoing series and I’m loving it!
Handy Man (oneshot) by @deanwanddamons
This lovely little drabble satisfies all my domestic dean needs. Covering his fine ass, arms and back. I mean…Come on! It’s just everything that you need in a bite size package. I absolutely loved it!
Nominated by @katehuntington
One For Tomorrow, One Just For Today (oneshot)  by @thoughtslikeaminefield
Sex with Dean is always amazing, but there’s nothing hotter than him singing a classic while he’s doing it. After reading this, that famous song by The Doors will never sound the same. Sit back, relax and listen to the music.
Handy Man (oneshot) by @deanwanddamons
Dean fixing a blocked drain under the kitchen sink in a black shirt and Levi’s jeans; what a sight that must be. The writer of this fic is able to describe the scene in great detail. Besides the obvious appreciation of the gorgeous man, it’s great to see him doing something normal and domesticated. It’s the life we all wish for him. A great little drabble for a Sunday morning with a cup of tea on the side.
You’re Home (oneshot) by @impala-dreamer
A drabble that’s absolutely worth mentioning, is this short story. Beka does Dean’s PTSD more justice in 682 words than the writers have ever done on the entire show. A beautiful piece of art.
Imagine Dean debating asking you out (oneshot) by @luci-in-trenchcoats
Dean has a crush on a girl, Sam is calling him out. When his little brother threatens to expose his secret, Dean tries to silence him, and it’s honestly the funniest read I’ve had this month. Writing comedy isn’t easy, but this was flawless.
I Just Called To Say I Love You (oneshot) @talesmaniac89
This one hurts bad, but in the most wonderful way. It’s exactly how Dean would go down, the characterisation beyond perfect. The descriptions, the dialogue, the details, the choices. It’s a Rembrandt painted with letters.
Side By Side (series) by @talesmaniac89
Another brilliant creation, based on the song Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. A song which surfaces a lot of emotions, much like this poetic and amazing piece of fanfiction. Words that come to mind are heart wrenching, tear jerking, and in a way comforting as well. A must read.
The Voices (oneshot) by @fictionalabyss
Based on ‘I hear the voices when I’m dreaming. I can hear them sing’ from the Supernatural anthem Carry On My Wayward Son, comes this breathtakingly beautiful piece of fanfiction. Perfect lines, spot on dialogue and it couldn’t have been more true to the character. It’s painfully raw, sad, and tears will fall. It makes you feel for Dean in ways that are difficult to describe. The writer of this story is known for her talent with words, but she outdid herself here.
Nicotine (oneshot) by @talesmaniac89
This story is inspired by the song Nicotine by Chef’Special and was written for my 1K celebration. The lyrics to this song are surprisingly depressing, despite it being an upbeat song, and the writer has captured it better than I could have ever hoped for. If her writing was music, it would be a symphony played by an orchestra. Her way with words is melodic and moving. Goosebumps all over.
 My Hero (oneshot) by @plaidstiel-wormstache
What I love most about this fanfic is the medical accuracy. I am no expert in any way, but after seeing countless medical dramas and having done plenty of research for characters and stories, I really appreciate it when knowledge about medicine practically drips from my screen. A lovely read.

Holy Lord, Thank You for grace. Please help me move beyond the hurdles that trip me up and give me the strength and wisdom to look up and see the hope I run toward in Christ. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
[Pro 5:1-12 ESV] 1 My son, be attentive to my wisdom; incline your ear to my understanding, 2 that you may keep discretion, and your lips may guard knowledge. 3 For the lips of a forbidden woman drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil, 4 but in the end she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword. 5 Her feet go down to death; her steps follow the path to Sheol; 6 she does not ponder the path of life; her ways wander, and she does not know it. 7 And now, O sons, listen to me, and do not depart from the words of my mouth. 8 Keep your way far from her, and do not go near the door of her house, 9 lest you give your honor to others and your years to the merciless, 10 lest strangers take their fill of your strength, and your labors go to the house of a foreigner, 11 and at the end of your life you groan, when your flesh and body are consumed, 12 and you say, "How I hated discipline, and my heart despised reproof!
[Jdg 5:1-31 ESV] 1 Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day: 2 "That the leaders took the lead in Israel, that the people offered themselves willingly, bless the LORD! 3 "Hear, O kings; give ear, O princes; to the LORD I will sing; I will make melody to the LORD, the God of Israel. 4 "LORD, when you went out from Seir, when you marched from the region of Edom, the earth trembled and the heavens dropped, yes, the clouds dropped water. 5 The mountains quaked before the LORD, even Sinai before the LORD, the God of Israel. 6 "In the days of Shamgar, son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were abandoned, and travelers kept to the byways. 7 The villagers ceased in Israel; they ceased to be until I arose; I, Deborah, arose as a mother in Israel. 8 When new gods were chosen, then war was in the gates. Was shield or spear to be seen among forty thousand in Israel? 9 My heart goes out to the commanders of Israel who offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless the LORD. 10 "Tell of it, you who ride on white donkeys, you who sit on rich carpets and you who walk by the way. 11 To the sound of musicians at the watering places, there they repeat the righteous triumphs of the LORD, the righteous triumphs of his villagers in Israel. "Then down to the gates marched the people of the LORD. 12 "Awake, awake, Deborah! Awake, awake, break out in a song! Arise, Barak, lead away your captives, O son of Abinoam. 13 Then down marched the remnant of the noble; the people of the LORD marched down for me against the mighty. 14 From Ephraim their root they marched down into the valley, following you, Benjamin, with your kinsmen; from Machir marched down the commanders, and from Zebulun those who bear the lieutenant's staff; 15 the princes of Issachar came with Deborah, and Issachar faithful to Barak; into the valley they rushed at his heels. Among the clans of Reuben there were great searchings of heart. 16 Why did you sit still among the sheepfolds, to hear the whistling for the flocks? Among the clans of Reuben there were great searchings of heart. 17 Gilead stayed beyond the Jordan; and Dan, why did he stay with the ships? Asher sat still at the coast of the sea, staying by his landings. 18 Zebulun is a people who risked their lives to the death; Naphtali, too, on the heights of the field. 19 "The kings came, they fought; then fought the kings of Canaan, at Taanach, by the waters of Megiddo; they got no spoils of silver. 20 From heaven the stars fought, from their courses they fought against Sisera. 21 The torrent Kishon swept them away, the ancient torrent, the torrent Kishon. March on, my soul, with might! 22 "Then loud beat the horses' hoofs with the galloping, galloping of his steeds. 23 "Curse Meroz, says the angel of the LORD, curse its inhabitants thoroughly, because they did not come to the help of the LORD, to the help of the LORD against the mighty. 24 "Most blessed of women be Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite, of tent-dwelling women most blessed. 25 He asked for water and she gave him milk; she brought him curds in a noble's bowl. 26 She sent her hand to the tent peg and her right hand to the workmen's mallet; she struck Sisera; she crushed his head; she shattered and pierced his temple. 27 Between her feet he sank, he fell, he lay still; between her feet he sank, he fell; where he sank, there he fell--dead. 28 "Out of the window she peered, the mother of Sisera wailed through the lattice: 'Why is his chariot so long in coming? Why tarry the hoofbeats of his chariots?' 29 Her wisest princesses answer, indeed, she answers herself, 30 'Have they not found and divided the spoil?-- A womb or two for every man; spoil of dyed materials for Sisera, spoil of dyed materials embroidered, two pieces of dyed work embroidered for the neck as spoil?' 31 "So may all your enemies perish, O LORD! But your friends be like the sun as he rises in his might." And the land had rest for forty years.
[1Pe 1:13-25 ESV] 13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, 15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy." 17 And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile, 18 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. 20 He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you 21 who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. 22 Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, 23 since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; 24 for "All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, 25 but the word of the Lord remains forever." And this word is the good news that was preached to you.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

People are so mean to FMA 03. It doesn't deserve it!!!
Don't get me wrong FMA:B is a grest show but it shouldn't be treated as "the Only FMA anime that exists, ignore the other one"
FMA 03 was a great introduction to anime for many people!!!
And it actually handled a lot of the serious moments even better than FMAB (*cough* Rose's belief being shattered while she stands on the ruins of the Chruch/symbolism of her faith *cough* The brother's failed Human transmutatiom is more horrific and gruesome, selling better the idea of a tabboo gone wrong *cough* Nina spend more episodes with the brothers tricking you into thinking she was gonna be a recuring character and was a surrogate little sister *cough* the emotional scene between Ed and Al where both almost die at the hands of Scar doesn't have All hitting Edd with comical sounds *cough* Actually having a great first episode)
Stop being so mean to it just because "it doesnt adapt the manga hyrr hurr dur"
Arakawa Herself said to enjoy the show for what differences it has from the source material!!!!!!!!! She worked on the anime seires as well for it to have her aproval!!!
Also there was no manga left to adapt for them! What? You wanted them to wait 10 years for Arakawa to finish???
(Also I dont like the colors in FMA:B a lot :/ they look washed out and I KNOW its a stylistic choice meant to imitate Hiromu Arakawa's oil paintings of FMA but.... Egh, Edd looks too light blonde to me?? The backgrounds are... Okay i guess. The colors don't catch my eye, and seem dull)
TBH maybe I will be hanged for this but FMA:B only gets good when it starts adapting the episodes the 03 series couldn't adapt
Also. FMAB (aside from the opening and ending songs) didn’t have such a memorable OST like FMA 03 "BROTHERS" IS SO fucking GOOD I CRY EVEYTIM-

The Holy Martyr Hermionia (117)
Tumblr media
The Holy Martyr Hermionia was a daughter of the holy Apostle Philip (Comm. 14 November). Wanting to see the holy Apostle John the Theologian, Hermionia with her sister Euthykhia set off to Asia (Asia Minor) in search of the saint, but during the time of their journey they learned the saint had died. Continuing on, the sisters met up with a disciple of Saint Paul named Petronias, and copying him in everything, they became his disciples. Saint Hermionia, having mastered the healing arts, rendered help to many a Christian and by the power of Christ she healed the sick.      During this period, the emperor Trajan (98-117) waged war against the Persians and he came with his army through the village where the saint lived. When they reported that Hermionia was a Christian, he gave orders to bring her to him. At first the emperor with casual admonitions sought to persuade the saint to renounce Christ. When this did not succeed, he commanded that she should be struck on the face at length, but she joyfully endured this suffering. Moreover, she was comforted by a vision of the Lord, sitting upon the throne of judgement, in semblance of Petronias. Convincing himself that she was adamant in her faith, Trajan sent her away. Hermionia later built an hospice in which she took in the sick, doctoring their infirmities both of body and soul.      Trajan's successor as emperor, Adrian, again commanded that the saint be brought to trial for confessing the Christian faith. At first, the emperor commanded that she be beaten mercilessly, then they pierced the soles of her feet with nails, and finally they threw her into a cauldron with boiling tar, tin and sulphurous brimstone. But the saint bore everything giving thanks to God. And the Lord rendered her His mercy: the fire went out, the tin flowed off, and the saint remained unharmed. Adrian in surprise went up to the place of torture and touched at the cauldron, to ascertain whether it had cooled. But just as he touched at the cauldron, he burned the skin on his hand. But even this did not dissuade the torturer. He gave orders to heat red-hot a sort of frying-pan and put upon it the holy martyress. And here again happened another miracle. An Angel of the Lord scattered about the hot coals and burnt many that stood about the fire. The saint stood on the frying-pan, as though on green grass, hymning forth praise to the Lord. Descending the frying-pan, the holy martyress seemed to appear willing to offer sacrifice to the pagan god Hercules. The delighted emperor gave orders to take her off to the idolous temple. When however the saint prayed there to God, a loud thunder-clap was heard, and all the idols in the pagan temple fell and shattered. In a rage the emperor ordered that Hermionia be led out beyond the city and beheaded. Two servants – Theodoulos and Timothy – were entrusted to carry out the execution. Going along the way, they wanted to commit iniquity against the saint, but just as they were considering this, their hands withered. Then they believed in Jesus Christ and with repentance they fell at the feet of Saint Hermionia. They besought her to pray to the Lord, that He should summon them to Himself before her, which through this prayer transpired. After this, having prayed, she also expired to the Lord (+ c. 117).

Moses Is Born (1531 BC)
Tumblr media
2 And a man of the house of Levi went and took as wife a daughter of Levi. 2 So the woman conceived and bore a son. And when she saw that he was a beautiful child, she hid him three months. 3 But when she could no longer hide him, she took an ark of bulrushes for him, daubed it with asphalt and pitch, put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank. 4 And his sister stood afar off, to know what would be done to him.
5 Then the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river. And her maidens walked along the riverside; and when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maid to get it. 6 And when she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. So she had compassion on him, and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children.”
7 Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “Shall I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?”
8 And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Go.” So the maiden went and called the child’s mother. 9 Then Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.” So the woman took the child and nursed him. 10 And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. So she called his name [a]Moses, saying, “Because I drew him out of the water.”
Moses Flees to Midian
11 Now it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out to his brethren and looked at their burdens. And he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren. 12 So he looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. 13 And when he went out the second day, behold, two Hebrew men were fighting, and he said to the one who did the wrong, “Why are you striking your companion?”
14 Then he said, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?”
So Moses feared and said, “Surely this thing is known!” 15 When Pharaoh heard of this matter, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from [b]the face of Pharaoh and dwelt in the land of Midian; and he sat down by a well.
16 Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters. And they came and drew water, and they filled the troughs to water their father’s flock. 17 Then the shepherds came and drove them away; but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock.
18 When they came to Reuel[c] their father, he said, “How is it that you have come so soon today?”
19 And they said, “An Egyptian delivered us from the hand of the shepherds, and he also drew enough water for us and watered the flock.”
20 So he said to his daughters, “And where is he? Why is it that you have left the man? Call him, that he may eat bread.”
21 Then Moses was content to live with the man, and he gave Zipporah his daughter to Moses. 22 And she bore him a son. He called his name Gershom,[d] for he said, “I have been a [e]stranger in a foreign land.”
23 Now it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died. Then the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry came up to God because of the bondage. 24 So God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. 25 And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God acknowledged them.

The Previous Command to Enter Canaan
1 These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel on this side of the Jordan in the wilderness, in the [a]plain opposite [b]Suph, between Paran, Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab. 2 It is eleven days’ journey from Horeb by way of Mount Seir to Kadesh Barnea. 3 Now it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spoke to the children of Israel according to all that the Lord had given him as commandments to them, 4 after he had killed Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, and Og king of Bashan, who dwelt at Ashtaroth in[c] Edrei.
5 On this side of the Jordan in the land of Moab, Moses began to explain this law, saying, 6 “The Lord our God spoke to us in Horeb, saying: ‘You have dwelt long enough at this mountain. 7 Turn and take your journey, and go to the mountains of the Amorites, to all the neighboring places in the [d]plain, in the mountains and in the lowland, in the South and on the seacoast, to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, as far as the great river, the River Euphrates. 8 See, I have set the land before you; go in and possess the land which the Lord [e]swore to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—to give to them and their descendants after them.’
Tribal Leaders Appointed
9 “And I spoke to you at that time, saying: ‘I [f]alone am not able to bear you. 10 The Lord your God has multiplied you, and here you are today, as the stars of heaven in multitude. 11 May the Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times more numerous than you are, and bless you as He has promised you! 12 How can I alone bear your problems and your burdens and your complaints? 13 Choose wise, understanding, and knowledgeable men from among your tribes, and I will make them [g]heads over you.’ 14 And you answered me and said, ‘The thing which you have told us to do is good.’ 15 So I took the heads of your tribes, wise and knowledgeable men, and [h]made them heads over you, leaders of thousands, leaders of hundreds, leaders of fifties, leaders of tens, and officers for your tribes.
16 “Then I commanded your judges at that time, saying, ‘Hear the cases between your brethren, and judge righteously between a man and his brother or the stranger who is with him. 17 You shall not show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small as well as the great; you shall not be afraid in any man’s presence, for the judgment is God’s. The case that is too hard for you, bring to me, and I will hear it.’ 18 And I commanded you at that time all the things which you should do.
Israel’s Refusal to Enter the Land
19 “So we departed from Horeb, and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which you saw on the way to the mountains of the Amorites, as the Lord our God had commanded us. Then we came to Kadesh Barnea. 20 And I said to you, ‘You have come to the mountains of the Amorites, which the Lord our God is giving us. 21 Look, the Lord your God has set the land before you; go up and possess it, as the Lord God of your fathers has spoken to you; do not fear or be discouraged.’
22 “And every one of you came near to me and said, ‘Let us send men before us, and let them search out the land for us, and bring back word to us of the way by which we should go up, and of the cities into which we shall come.’
23 “The plan pleased me well; so I took twelve of your men, one man from each tribe. 24 And they departed and went up into the mountains, and came to the Valley of Eshcol, and spied it out. 25 They also took some of the fruit of the land in their hands and brought it down to us; and they brought back word to us, saying, ‘It is a good land which the Lord our God is giving us.’
26 “Nevertheless you would not go up, but rebelled against the command of the Lord your God; 27 and you complained in your tents, and said, ‘Because the Lord hates us, He has brought us out of the land of Egypt to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us. 28 Where can we go up? Our brethren have [i]discouraged our hearts, saying, “The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to heaven; moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.” ’
29 “Then I said to you, ‘Do not be terrified, or afraid of them. 30 The Lord your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you, according to all He did for you in Egypt before your eyes, 31 and in the wilderness where you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place.’ 32 Yet, for all that, you did not believe the Lord your God, 33 who went in the way before you to search out a place for you to pitch your tents, to show you the way you should go, in the fire by night and in the cloud by day.
The Penalty for Israel’s Rebellion
34 “And the Lord heard the sound of your words, and was angry, and took an oath, saying, 35 ‘Surely not one of these men of this evil generation shall see that good land of which I [j]swore to give to your fathers, 36 except Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him and his children I am giving the land on which he walked, because he [k]wholly followed the Lord.’ 37 The Lord was also angry with me for your sakes, saying, ‘Even you shall not go in there. 38 Joshua the son of Nun, who stands before you, he shall go in there. Encourage him, for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.
39 ‘Moreover your little ones and your children, who you say will be victims, who today have no knowledge of good and evil, they shall go in there; to them I will give it, and they shall possess it. 40 But as for you, turn and take your journey into the wilderness by the Way of the Red Sea.’
41 “Then you answered and said to me, ‘We have sinned against the Lord; we will go up and fight, just as the Lord our God commanded us.’ And when everyone of you had girded on his weapons of war, you were ready to go up into the mountain.
42 “And the Lord said to me, ‘Tell them, “Do not go up nor fight, for I am not among you; lest you be defeated before your enemies.” ’ 43 So I spoke to you; yet you would not listen, but rebelled against the command of the Lord, and presumptuously[l] went up into the mountain. 44 And the Amorites who dwelt in that mountain came out against you and chased you as bees do, and drove you back from Seir to Hormah. 45 Then you returned and wept before the Lord, but the Lord would not listen to your voice nor give ear to you.
46 “So you remained in Kadesh many days, according to the days that you spent there.

Mark 6:30-45
30Then the apostles gathered to Jesus and told Him all things, both what they had done and what they had taught.31And He said to them, "Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest awhile." For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.32So they departed to a deserted place in the boat by themselves.33But the multitudes saw them departing, and many knew Him and ran there on foot from all the cities. They arrived before them and came together to Him.34And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things.35When the day was now far spent, His disciples came to Him and said, "This is a deserted place, and already the hour is late.36Send them away, that they may go into the surrounding country and villages and buy themselves bread; for they have nothing to eat.37But He answered and said to them, "You give them something to eat." And they said to Him, "Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?"38But He said to them, "How many loaves do you have? Go and see." And when they found out they said, "Five, and two fish."39Then He commanded them to make them all sit down in groups on the green grass.40So they sat down in ranks, in hundreds and in fifties.41And when He had taken the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and the two fish He divided among them all.42So they all ate and were filled.43And they took up twelve baskets full of fragments and of the fish.44Now those who had eaten the loaves were about five thousand men.45Immediately He made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while He sent the multitude away.
Hebrews 11:33-12:2
33who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,34quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.35Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.36Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment.37They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented-38of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.39And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receivethe promise,40God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us.1Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,2looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that wasset before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

...And Turn To Page 1
A blast of... something was shot at Wavecrash. It scratched seir left arm and left a solid dent in the wall of the ship, a dent with tons of little spikes, as if the projectile was a large ball of razor blades.
The clatter of lots of tiny hard things hitting the ground. It definitely might’ve been razor blades. Hopefully they didn’t do as much damage to sem as they did to Ness.
The mystery Cybertronian gradually stood up, rubbing the spot where their handle was torn right off. Their empty mask-eyes showed no pupils, but Wavecrash could almost feel their gaze burning through seir left hand - the one holding the handle.
“What the hell are you doing here?”
“Your ship crashed.”
“It- of fragging course it did. When can I ever trust Starborn to refill the fuel tanks?” They punched the wall - once at course and once at Starborn. The first punch didn’t do much, but the second left a dent in the wall - or, rather, lots of tiny dents looking like one huge dent.
What the hell was causing this?
“Plug, Ness! Run!”
“There’s more of you?! Well, this won’t be as easy as I thought.” Another blast of that something. This one hit Wavecrash’s arm again, and nearly blasted the forearm off the upper arm. It seemed to be like some sort of capsule that shattered upon impact. Shrapnel from the explosion embedded itself in Wavecrash’s arm, the ship walls, crates of Cybertronian food.
A surge of power went through Wavecrash’s arm, and sey threw the torn-off handle in seir hands at them at unnatural speed. They raised their cannon arm to blast it back, but weren’t fast enough, and a solid crunch was heard as the impact rendered the cannon useless. A clear liquid, slightly metallic and tinted dark grey, leaked out, and scraped away the paint and metal as it went. They desperately waved the arm around, trying to fling this liquid at Wavecrash, presumably, but sem hiding behind a crate of Crystal Bismuth Chips did the trick.
“Okay, answer me before I throw some sonic-speed bismuth at you. What’s your name?”
No answer. Another capsule blast headed right for sem - they must have a backup cannon.
Sey grabbed a couple party-sized bismuth chip bags in one servo, and let the power surge through seir hand as they rocketed towards the other. The bags burst, sonic-speed bismuth bags making a good improvised grenade.
Dripping with strange grey fluid, orange Energon trickling down their plating in small rivulets, they reluctantly follow Wavecrash’s demands.
“I am Nanotube. I am neither Autobot, nor Decepticon. A new faction has appeared, ready to take full advantage of this new chaos, and make use of all this potential we’ve desperately pushed away.”
Wavecrash gradually stepped out from behind the crate, noticing Nanotube was telling the truth. The symbol she bore on her shoulder was neither Autobot red nor Decepticon purple.
It was green. Two large triangles served as eyes, and vents rested at the bottom of the emblem’s face, what appeared to be a crown fused with the top of its head.
“I represent and bring forth the rise of the Radiotrons.”

AND NOW FOR MY IN DEPTH REACTION POST TO KH3 IN ITS ENTIRETY:
( jokes on me I actually made this in depth )
Tumblr media
What the absolute fuck was that.  It’s not even meant in hostility, I just don’t at all get what any of that ending meant or what it was supposed to represent or support. I’ve spent all day thinking WORST CASE on what was possibly going to come of that ending. Was Sora going to die? Was Sora some how in relation with the Master of Masters, was Sora going to be Norted and made to fight everyone and it was their turn to fight against him—like all of these possible scenarios that could have been REMARKABLY worse than what we got.  And frankly, I don’t even know what we got. I have no idea how to break that down and make anything from it, because this ENTIRE GAME just completely negated all the years of Sora’s journey in the span of two hours.  There was just...so much unnecessary digging at all these holes that had been already been too deep that looking at this as a whole is just so exhausting because I don’t even know where to start. I can start by saying, none of this will probably change my interpretation of Sora or his motivations or his drive? It didn’t matter. The story absolutely did nothing to absolve a lot of the overarching and LOOMING impressions that it was giving, so, it just...doesn’t change Sora. WHICH HERES THE SCOOP ON SOMETHING I LITERALLY WAS PLANNING ON DOING THIS WEEK
Tumblr media
( because I have no way to reorganize this, here begins the list of frustrations I guess :  )
01. Sora’s resolution—So a big thing that really bothered me this game was this intense reminder that “Sora is nothing without everyone else”. Throughout the series as a whole, more specifically KH1, CoM and DDD, there are a lot of themes of this SCRUTINIZING “teasing” to Sora’s character that he is useless and incapable without the aide of others. Honestly, it’s more fair to say that Sora being the main character is whole heartedly an accident. It’s fair to call him dull, ordinary, unimpressive and unremarkable. But what captures so much of his character and WHY he is the main character is because he is all those things and that’s what makes him remarkably amazing to those around him. He exceeds every and all expectation because people think him incapable when he is profoundly capable, even by the thinnest of margins. His confidence only grows with others beside him. Sora is extraordinary because in every instance he faces, he overcomes the odds because he believes in how capable he is to solve it. He will do anything to fix a problem, he won’t stop until others are helped. And all of these things are also FLAWS. His flaws are his strengths because he’s learning how to grow from his mistakes and his failures. And from the previous settings of hearing people tell him how incapable he is because he’s not as good, not as tough or as smart—he grows because he’s trying to CHANGE to be better. And the same thing I have heard throughout the majority of this series is people telling him “Don’t ever change.” Sora has changed. He’s grown self-conscious, he’s anxious and hesitant. More reliant on others than himself. Because he’s been so stunted by this need to remain who he is, but unable to change and evolve from all the hurt and suffering he has endured and taken for others. And never got the chance to evolve from that AT ALL, this game. I was half expection with worlds like Tangled, and San Fransokyo, and the small hope of Moana that characters like Rapunzel, Hiro and Moana could show Sora that in these moments of weakness and incapability, just because you are alone or abandoned or scared and hurt, these things do not define who you are and who you are TO OTHERS. They test you to grow and change and believe in the way that you can make differences and learn from those mistakes and put downs.  And Sora didn’t get that at all.  02. Kairi— First and foremost, I personally would want to apologize to every Kairi player there is because what Nomura did to her was awful. What has happened to Kairi this entire SEIRES, was awful and shameless and I’m just...really frustrated that I don’t have more sympathy to care for her the way I want to. She has been a bone for Sora to follow the whole time, she has been a fridge, she has been a set piece, a plot device, a plot foundation—all while never being able to control her own agency in the process. Every decision is made for her, and every decision she makes does not feel like her own. Her relationship with Sora feels so...stagnant despite all this pressure between their bond and their intertwined destinies. There is no foundation because we don’t know who the hell Kairi is. We don’t know what she likes, where she came from, what she wants because anything scripted will tell you “Sora”. And from her, Sora is her personality in these games. And it’s absolutely UNFAIR. The entire ending I sat there thinking, “Neat everyone is just...catching up like old friends, after you know, Sora seeing the one person he’s fought so hard to protect and keep safe just shatter in front of his eyes....AND NO ONE IS THE LEAST BIT CONCERNED, MUCH LESS SORA HIMSELF?” I felt Naminé had more people that cared about her than Kairi did, because in this strange pocket of tethers Kairi ONLY had Sora. She hardly interacted with Riku, or gave him the time of day, despite him also being a part of their friendship. She didn’t deserve ANY of that. She did not deserve to die to be Sora’s motivation for saving the world from darkness, and Sora shouldn’t have “died” at the expense of saving her. They have done enough for each other to prove their bonds and their ties that they didn’t need this self sacrifice to solidified what they meant to one another. Whatever the relationship between them, be it romantically inclined or not, they genuinely failed her. They failed to give Kairi the resolution she needed : which what to not be DEFINED by who Sora was to her.
03. Xenhanort— At this point I’ve fought them so much I don’t even care. I can genuinely say with @dawnbreaks as my witness, I did not die a SINGLE death this entire playthrough. Not once. There felt like little challenge, the stakes didn’t feel as severe as they maybe should have been and for all the work and effort anyone has put in to trying to understand what happened, and why we were fighting; there was no result satisfying that felt good enough to explain that. Why at the very end, did the organization members get agency and then were killed? Why at the last minute did Xehanort, a man HENOUS ENOUGH to spilt a boy apart and leave him for dead, kidnapper of several people who he in turn forced himself into vessels, a man PREPARED TO PURGE THE WORLD ANEW, suddenly changes at the presences of fwens and just STOPS. I get that “Oh this is a Disney title and we can’t have him going murder spree on everything”—LIKE ITS A TAD LATE, but wHY would you reform him. His actions are WHAT DEFINED HIM AS THE VILLAIN. He was cruel and uncaring, and intending to let everyone UNDERSTAND THE CASUALTY OF HIS SACRIFICE BEING NECESSARY. ...I hate when villains are shafted in their own cruelty because of a good triumphing evil. We know the difference and I’m sure the villain knows the difference in context. What makes a good villain is when their context can justify the reasoning behind what they do, it shows their motivations and their strive towards their goal ; often parallel to the hero. And most good villains don’t simply CHANGE because someone asks them not to. Otherwise why be a villain at all.  04. Sora’s Death ?— I love Sora. With all my heart and soul, I GENUINELY love him a lot. He has been a character who has been there for me through a lot of hard times, he’s been someone I aspire to be like and a character I have treasured DEARLY. At this point, I would have rather Sora stayed dead. At the first point in time when he ended up in the Final World, I would have rather that’s where he stayed. Aside from the fact that his story is becoming a dead horse beaten, sometimes death in stories happen. They are sad and upsetting and all around unfavourable, but his “death” was so...unnecessary. Much like Kairi’s. There was absolutely no reason for it to have happened to either of them, much less at the expense of EACH OTHER. It’s not romantic, it strengthens no bond and there was no WEIGHT behind either sacrifice. It was just to kill time.  A brilliant example of a death made fair was Noctis.  Noctis is another character who I truly love, who I enjoyed every step of his journey and in the end was absolutely devastated to lose. But his death MEANT something. Because I played an entire goddamn game that showed what he gave toward that sacrifice and how he went from a self-preserving child to a KING, who knew the sacrifice that was meant for not just HIS people but THE PEOPLE to survive.  It was a death that was beautiful and tragic because it FUCKING MEANT SOMETHING TO ME, as a player, and watching Sora die for Kairi meant NOTHING. And that sounds so cruel and unfair, but its because she too died for nothing. She was not stopping Xehanort from anything. She was not a means to his end. She was not a driving force that could contain or deny his success. She was a girl who has and ONLY has been define by her relationship to Sora, and was used a pawn to motivate him, when he didn’t need it.  And for Sora to do the exact same thing, after people who have fought themselves back from the brink for and with him, to let him just WALK away to retrieve her, and then just blink away, not only denies everything I did in this game. But it denies everything that Sora has done for her and that he’s meant to do for her.  IN FACT, I plan on making a verse with the intention that Sora is dead.  Because the idea of Sora even trading himself to restore her once sealing Kindgom Hearts is a far better outcome than just TRADING life tokens and waking up in a FFVX ripoff.  I don’t understand what this game was trying to explain, narratively.  Combat was fun.  Seeing old characters rendered in the new engine was nice.  Watching how more animated Sora was and over all his look and mannerisms and just following his journey again was comforting.  But what did I do? And why. There was no point to anything that I just did in games prior, because all of it is gone in this one. And that’s really disappointing after waiting 13 years, to beat a game in five days.

Good omens au
N/A: Never read the book, saw many fanarts here and there to get the gist, now, the actual story in this drabble is 100% from my head with inspiration from Good Omens.
@djinmer4 @dannybagpipesarecalling @discordsworld
#1 Seir is not one to idle walk around in places like this shopping, for example, but with his glamour on and nothing else in his agenda, why not indulge his curiosity a little bit?
Entering in a department store where he´s chatting with a pretty woman, another of his one-night standers for sure, judging by her flirtation and insinuations, the talks dies as Kurt looks at the west side.
A woman with chestnut hair, brown eyes and wearing something completely out fashion is in the store looking at everything with awe. His eyes are solely on her form as Kurt knows who this woman.
The one-night-stander means nothing to him now. Daring to be as closer as he can, Sier listens to the exchange between this creature and the saleswoman.
"Why I can´t just leave with this hat?" the creature replied and Sier saw how the saleswoman is reacting, like all the humans who met someone like she does.
"You must pay..." the creature tilted her head as the woman continues "I can pay for you if you want"
"No need, this green paper is a mystery to me, take care Agatha Smith" the creature replied smiling and Sier looks away.
An angel just walks in a department store. He saw an angel. And the only response Sier could muster is a watch as the angel walks away.
Suddenly he gets offended, does this angel really didn´t see him or just pretended to not see him?
_______________ #2 This particular type of bar is quiet and without crowds of people and free to mutants(Sier laughs as thinking on their reaction if they knew of a real demon is walking among them) and the beer is great.
It was supposed to be a night where his mind is not rearing about his past, his useless father(pot meet kettle, being a decent father to Talia does not erase what he has done so far.) and of course, the angel.
God really show his "love" for Kurt in the form of an angel entering in his bar and looking at the humans amused. And Kurt is paralyzed in his spot.
An angel in a bar with a demon?! Hilarious
She goes to where the stools of the bar are, way too closer of Sier, and the Demon is not ashamed to gulp and to look at her. Her chestnut hair, brown eyes and skin ...how is her true form?
(Sier remembers tales of angels. How their looks can be only left to interpretation. His sister, often said angels are ugly and demons are made pretty to seduce as God sure does not want his precious angel loses their grace)
Sier does not believe in that anymore for several reasons. And most important, this angel is anything but ugly.
"Do you have nectar?" the angel replied and the human shakes his head ready to grovel if need and maybe Sier is a bit drunk or suicidal but he´d make himself know.
"Oh, shut up, man, the woman just want something to drink, gives a beer and is fine" Sier ordered and the poor bartender accepts. The angels look dead set into his golden eyes. Sier now knows she must realize who he´s. A fight between them is imminent.
"Who are you?"
Sier looks offended.
"My name is Sier and I´m the shadow that covers humanity," Sier thought this would impress the angel.
"Ah, Azazel´s son, the satan wannabe. Ok, hello" the angel waves at him and Sier looks even more offended. "My name is xxx" she speaks her name and lights and sound, far from human(angels love to show off) invade the bar "but I guess is easier to call me just Kitty"
And resume drinking her beer.
Sier is curious and furious at the same time. How dare she not be impressed by his mere presence?
_____________________ #3 Kitty, the angel lives with the X-men. Sier knows his daughter lives with them, but never in the past, make any interest to join the group(helping his daughter? Always, the others? not so much), so, when Sier shows up no one knew what to expect.
Sier spots Warren speaking freely with Kitty(too freely, why this big bird can do that?) and did what would be seen as stupid, in character and expected. Sier shows his blades and jumps to attack.
Warren was not a match. Kitty shows up in the "fight" and put her finger on the blade, in no time, the blade shatters. And flicking his forehead Sier was throw yards away.
"Little demon, what are you doing here?" Kitty asked now inches of his face when an angel teleport you don´t see it coming unless is too late.
"I´m a demon" is the only reply given and Kitty rolls her eyes as she replies careless "Oh, stop being a cliche, you just attack Warren cause you know he´s weak"
Seir could have a smile at this confession but self-preservation still kicks in.
"You rush just in time to save your lover" Sier replied nasty and now her eyes are on his form again(is eerie, fantastic and everything someone would dream and fear) and Sier wonders how someone powerful as she is doing with a weakling like him.
"Sier....he´s my decedent, unlike your family, I´d found incest gross" Kitty spots Talia rushing to see her father and Kitty leaves Sier be.
Many comments on the event that just happens. Bobby pipes in saying how Kitty didn´t refute how Warren is weak(Bobby gets his head smack)
-_____________
#4
Sier is looking bored at the X-men as they are dealing with a mission, Seir did help Talia to take out the survivors of a natural disaster and now is watching as Scott and Logan are deciding the next step.
Kitty is next to him(angel teleportation is another level) and looks at the survivors to the X-men and asks.
"What are they doing?" Kitty asked crossing her arms.
"Well, little angel, they are asserting dominance" Sier replied smirking at her.
"Humans, do that a lot?" Kitty´s eyes are on his and Sier would like to point out that no one in the X-men has the strength to deal with her gaze for more than one minute.
"All the time"
"How peculiar"
_______________
#5
Sometimes, Kitty likes to use the pool for herself, when the X-men are sleeping soundly. Sier knows Kitty has no understanding of humanity´s social cues. Sier is gazing at the widow as Kitty emerges from the pool.
Naked and wet and Sier wonders if those humans truly understand her beauty.
She roses from the waters like an ethereal being and walks on water speaking her ancient language, and in the end, vanish into thin air.
Someone pokes his shoulder. It´s Logan.
"Listen to bub, the kids don´t feel comfortable to go to the pool with a demon looking at them so intensely" Logan explained gruffly as always.
Only now Sier realizes is not night anymore. Is daylight.
"Where is she?"
"No one knows"
_________________
#6
The hellfire is a name that makes Sier laugh. Today, the man is not laughing as White Queen send a psychic blow(as Bobby summarize quickly to Sier) on Kitty.
Sier only saw red as his blades take the White Queen without mercy. The fact someone like this pathetic human manages to hurt Kitty is enough to make Sier vexing.
Once, White Queen is no more. Sier is searching for Kitty and any signal of damage the woman may sustain.
"I´m fine, little demon" Kitty speaks as Sier´s hands are palming her face until is clear no signal of hurt is in her person. "She didn´t hurt me at all, but, she did startle me. I didn´t think it would be possible to exist another person with psychic powers at the level of Jean Grey"
"Who cares about that? That bitch attacked you"
"And you defend me, little demon, but this is an issue, it means the intelligence is not working" Kitty thanks him for the help and then teleports away from there.
Leaving Sier to deal with the fallout.
Why does he care so much if the White queen hurts Kitty?
_______________________ #7
Sometimes, Kitty shows up and watches movies with the X-men. Sier decides to show how the humans portrayed angels in their media. A smirk plays off as Kitty looks at the first angel in the movie with deep confusion.
As the plot goes on, Kitty is hugging herself and looking at the scene with sadness, Sier can count the moment the human character will be killed, but as tears fall from her eyes.
Seir pauses the movie and speaks loudly.
"What a junk! IN the end, it was all a dream of one of the characters, such a let down" Sier speaks and Kitty looks at him now.
"I know in the end, that human dies in such a sad way that becomes the catharsis for the end of the world" and now she adds "thank you, little demon, that´s was kind of you to try to spare my feelings"
Sier remains silent as the movie continues and the said human character does die.
________________________ #8
"Father," asked Talia one day "why are you so fixated on Kitty?"
"She is an angel!" Sier replied
"Yeah, but when you see Warren you hiss at him and loves to scare him, with Kitty is different..."
"She´s different..."
"Father, do you want to talk about your feelings?"
"Why everyone asked me that? No, what I feel for Kitty is not a big deal"
And then Sier spends the entire day with Kitty.
___________________ #9
"Little demon, are you trying to pick up on Betsy? She seems to be into my decedent and hates you" Kitty asked one day when saw the flowers behind his back.
"What? Nah, not my type, and if she likes bird boy that´s her prerogative" Sier speaks arrogantly and then gives the flowers to Kitty.
"Is for you" roses have a special meaning to angels. Red and blue roses.
"Thank you, little demon, do you want to talk?"
"...No" and bamfs away.
_______________
#10
"You can walk by my side, little demon, lurking in the shadows means nothing to me" Kitty speaks as Sier leaves the shadow to sit next to her. She is in a high tower, in the ceiling. Looking at the world below her.
"You´re a strange angel"
"I´m just not a cliche and I see no point to fight with you." She smiles noticing his reaction "and you´re a strange demon too"
"...I suppose"
"Sier, if you want to sit with me, just sit with me,"
"Ok"

Deuteronomy 32-33
Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak;   let the earth hear the words of my mouth. May my teaching drop like the rain,   my speech condense like the dew; like gentle rain on grass,   like showers on new growth. For I will proclaim the name of the Lord;   ascribe greatness to our God!
The Rock, his work is perfect,   and all his ways are just. A faithful God, without deceit,   just and upright is he; yet his degenerate children have dealt falsely with him,   a perverse and crooked generation. Do you thus repay the Lord,   O foolish and senseless people? Is not he your father, who created you,   who made you and established you? Remember the days of old,   consider the years long past; ask your father, and he will inform you;   your elders, and they will tell you. When the Most High apportioned the nations,   when he divided humankind, he fixed the boundaries of the peoples   according to the number of the gods; the Lord’s own portion was his people,   Jacob his allotted share.
He sustained him in a desert land,   in a howling wilderness waste; he shielded him, cared for him,   guarded him as the apple of his eye. As an eagle stirs up its nest,   and hovers over its young; as it spreads its wings, takes them up,   and bears them aloft on its pinions, the Lord alone guided him;   no foreign god was with him. He set him upon the heights of the land,   and fed him with produce of the field; he nursed him with honey from the crags,   with oil from flinty rock; curds from the herd, and milk from the flock,   with fat of lambs and rams; Bashan bulls and goats,   together with the choicest wheat—   you drank fine wine from the blood of grapes. Jacob ate his fill;   Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked.   You grew fat, bloated, and gorged! He abandoned God who made him,   and scoffed at the Rock of his salvation. They made him jealous with strange gods,   with abhorrent things they provoked him. They sacrificed to demons, not God,   to deities they had never known, to new ones recently arrived,   whom your ancestors had not feared. You were unmindful of the Rock that bore you;   you forgot the God who gave you birth.
The Lord saw it, and was jealous;   he spurned his sons and daughters. He said: I will hide my face from them,   I will see what their end will be; for they are a perverse generation,   children in whom there is no faithfulness. They made me jealous with what is no god,   provoked me with their idols. So I will make them jealous with what is no people,   provoke them with a foolish nation. For a fire is kindled by my anger,   and burns to the depths of Sheol; it devours the earth and its increase,   and sets on fire the foundations of the mountains. I will heap disasters upon them,   spend my arrows against them: wasting hunger,   burning consumption,   bitter pestilence. The teeth of beasts I will send against them,   with venom of things crawling in the dust. In the street the sword shall bereave,   and in the chambers terror, for young man and woman alike,   nursing child and old grey head. I thought to scatter them   and blot out the memory of them from humankind; but I feared provocation by the enemy,   for their adversaries might misunderstand and say, ‘Our hand is triumphant;   it was not the Lord who did all this.’
They are a nation void of sense;   there is no understanding in them. If they were wise, they would understand this;   they would discern what the end would be. How could one have routed a thousand,   and two put a myriad to flight, unless their Rock had sold them,   the Lord had given them up? Indeed their rock is not like our Rock;   our enemies are fools. Their vine comes from the vine-stock of Sodom,   from the vineyards of Gomorrah; their grapes are grapes of poison,   their clusters are bitter; their wine is the poison of serpents,   the cruel venom of asps.
Is not this laid up in store with me,   sealed up in my treasuries? Vengeance is mine, and recompense,   for the time when their foot shall slip; because the day of their calamity is at hand,   their doom comes swiftly.
Indeed the Lord will vindicate his people,   have compassion on his servants, when he sees that their power is gone,   neither bond nor free remaining. Then he will say: Where are their gods,   the rock in which they took refuge, who ate the fat of their sacrifices,   and drank the wine of their libations? Let them rise up and help you,   let them be your protection!
See now that I, even I, am he;   there is no god besides me. I kill and I make alive;   I wound and I heal;   and no one can deliver from my hand. For I lift up my hand to heaven,   and swear: As I live for ever, when I whet my flashing sword,   and my hand takes hold on judgement; I will take vengeance on my adversaries,   and will repay those who hate me. I will make my arrows drunk with blood,   and my sword shall devour flesh— with the blood of the slain and the captives,   from the long-haired enemy.
Praise, O heavens, his people,   worship him, all you gods! For he will avenge the blood of his children,   and take vengeance on his adversaries; he will repay those who hate him,   and cleanse the land for his people.
Moses came and recited all the words of this song in the hearing of the people, he and Joshua son of Nun. When Moses had finished reciting all these words to all Israel, he said to them: ‘Take to heart all the words that I am giving in witness against you today; give them as a command to your children, so that they may diligently observe all the words of this law. This is no trifling matter for you, but rather your very life; through it you may live long in the land that you are crossing over the Jordan to possess.’
On that very day the Lord addressed Moses as follows: ‘Ascend this mountain of the Abarim, Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, across from Jericho, and view the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites for a possession; you shall die there on the mountain that you ascend and shall be gathered to your kin, as your brother Aaron died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his kin; because both of you broke faith with me among the Israelites at the waters of Meribath-kadesh in the wilderness of Zin, by failing to maintain my holiness among the Israelites. Although you may view the land from a distance, you shall not enter it—the land that I am giving to the Israelites.’
This is the blessing with which Moses, the man of God, blessed the Israelites before his death. He said: The Lord came from Sinai,   and dawned from Seir upon us;   he shone forth from Mount Paran. With him were myriads of holy ones;   at his right, a host of his own. Indeed, O favourite among peoples,   all his holy ones were in your charge; they marched at your heels,   accepted direction from you. Moses charged us with the law,   as a possession for the assembly of Jacob. There arose a king in Jeshurun,   when the leaders of the people assembled—   the united tribes of Israel.
May Reuben live, and not die out,   even though his numbers are few.
And this he said of Judah: O Lord, give heed to Judah,   and bring him to his people; strengthen his hands for him,   and be a help against his adversaries.
And of Levi he said: Give to Levi your Thummim,   and your Urim to your loyal one, whom you tested at Massah,   with whom you contended at the waters of Meribah; who said of his father and mother,   ‘I regard them not’; he ignored his kin,   and did not acknowledge his children. For they observed your word,   and kept your covenant. They teach Jacob your ordinances,   and Israel your law; they place incense before you,   and whole burnt-offerings on your altar. Bless, O Lord, his substance,   and accept the work of his hands; crush the loins of his adversaries,   of those that hate him, so that they do not rise again.
Of Benjamin he said: The beloved of the Lord rests in safety— the High God surrounds him all day long—   the beloved rests between his shoulders.
And of Joseph he said: Blessed by the Lord be his land,   with the choice gifts of heaven above,   and of the deep that lies beneath; with the choice fruits of the sun,   and the rich yield of the months; with the finest produce of the ancient mountains,   and the abundance of the everlasting hills; with the choice gifts of the earth and its fullness,   and the favour of the one who dwells on Sinai. Let these come on the head of Joseph,   on the brow of the prince among his brothers. A firstborn bull—majesty is his!   His horns are the horns of a wild ox; with them he gores the peoples,   driving them to the ends of the earth; such are the myriads of Ephraim,   such the thousands of Manasseh.
And of Zebulun he said: Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out;   and Issachar, in your tents. They call peoples to the mountain;   there they offer the right sacrifices; for they suck the affluence of the seas   and the hidden treasures of the sand.
And of Gad he said: Blessed be the enlargement of Gad!   Gad lives like a lion;   he tears at arm and scalp. He chose the best for himself,   for there a commander’s allotment was reserved; he came at the head of the people,   he executed the justice of the Lord,   and his ordinances for Israel.
And of Dan he said: Dan is a lion’s whelp   that leaps forth from Bashan.
And of Naphtali he said: O Naphtali, sated with favour,   full of the blessing of the Lord,   possess the west and the south.
And of Asher he said: Most blessed of sons be Asher;   may he be the favourite of his brothers,   and may he dip his foot in oil. Your bars are iron and bronze;   and as your days, so is your strength.
There is none like God, O Jeshurun,   who rides through the heavens to your help,   majestic through the skies. He subdues the ancient gods,   shatters the forces of old; he drove out the enemy before you,   and said, ‘Destroy!’ So Israel lives in safety,   untroubled is Jacob’s abode in a land of grain and wine,   where the heavens drop down dew. Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you,   a people saved by the Lord, the shield of your help,   and the sword of your triumph! Your enemies shall come fawning to you,   and you shall tread on their backs.

A Sign Against Egypt and Cush
20 In the year that the commander in chief, who was sent by Sargon the king of Assyria, came to Ashdod and fought against it and captured it—2 at that time the LORD spoke by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, “Go, and loose the sackcloth from your waist and take off your sandals from your feet,” and he did so, walking naked and barefoot.
3 Then the LORD said, “As my servant Isaiah has walked naked and barefoot for three years as a sign and a portent against Egypt and Cush,Probably Nubia‘>1 4 so shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptian captives and the Cushite exiles, both the young and the old, naked and barefoot, with buttocks uncovered, the nakedness of Egypt. 5 Then they shall be dismayed and ashamed because of Cush their hope and of Egypt their boast. 6 And the inhabitants of this coastland will say in that day, ‘Behold, this is what has happened to those in whom we hoped and to whom we fled for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria! And we, how shall we escape?’”
Fallen, Fallen Is Babylon
21 The oracle concerning the wilderness of the sea.
As whirlwinds in the Negeb sweep on,     it comes from the wilderness,     from a terrible land. 2   A stern vision is told to me;     the traitor betrays,     and the destroyer destroys.   Go up, O Elam;     lay siege, O Media;   all the sighing she has caused     I bring to an end. 3   Therefore my loins are filled with anguish;     pangs have seized me,     like the pangs of a woman in labor;   I am bowed down so that I cannot hear;     I am dismayed so that I cannot see. 4   My heart staggers; horror has appalled me;     the twilight I longed for     has been turned for me into trembling. 5   They prepare the table,     they spread the rugs,Or they set the watchman‘>2     they eat, they drink.   Arise, O princes;     oil the shield! 6   For thus the Lord said to me:   “Go, set a watchman;     let him announce what he sees. 7   When he sees riders, horsemen in pairs,     riders on donkeys, riders on camels,   let him listen diligently,     very diligently.” 8   Then he who saw cried out:Dead Sea Scroll, Syriac; Masoretic Text Then a lion cried out, or Then he cried out like a lion‘>3   “Upon a watchtower I stand, O Lord,     continually by day,   and at my post I am stationed     whole nights. 9   And behold, here come riders,     horsemen in pairs!”   And he answered,     “Fallen, fallen is Babylon;   and all the carved images of her gods     he has shattered to the ground.” 10   O my threshed and winnowed one,     what I have heard from the LORD of hosts,     the God of Israel, I announce to you.
11 The oracle concerning Dumah.
One is calling to me from Seir,     “Watchman, what time of the night?     Watchman, what time of the night?” 12   The watchman says:   “Morning comes, and also the night.     If you will inquire, inquire;     come back again.”
13 The oracle concerning Arabia.
In the thickets in Arabia you will lodge,     O caravans of Dedanites. 14   To the thirsty bring water;     meet the fugitive with bread,     O inhabitants of the land of Tema. 15   For they have fled from the swords,     from the drawn sword,   from the bent bow,     and from the press of battle.
16 For thus the Lord said to me, “Within a year, according to the years of a hired worker, all the glory of Kedar will come to an end. 17 And the remainder of the archers of the mighty men of the sons of Kedar will be few, for the LORD, the God of Israel, has spoken.”
An Oracle Concerning Jerusalem
22 The oracle concerning the valley of vision.
What do you mean that you have gone up,     all of you, to the housetops, 2   you who are full of shoutings,     tumultuous city, exultant town?   Your slain are not slain with the sword     or dead in battle. 3   All your leaders have fled together;     without the bow they were captured.   All of you who were found were captured,     though they had fled far away. 4   Therefore I said:   “Look away from me;     let me weep bitter tears;   do not labor to comfort me     concerning the destruction of the daughter of my people.” 5   For the Lord GOD of hosts has a day     of tumult and trampling and confusion     in the valley of vision,   a battering down of walls     and a shouting to the mountains. 6   And Elam bore the quiver     with chariots and horsemen,     and Kir uncovered the shield. 7   Your choicest valleys were full of chariots,     and the horsemen took their stand at the gates. 8   He has taken away the covering of Judah.
In that day you looked to the weapons of the House of the Forest, 9 and you saw that the breaches of the city of David were many. You collected the waters of the lower pool, 10 and you counted the houses of Jerusalem, and you broke down the houses to fortify the wall. 11 You made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But you did not look to him who did it, or see him who planned it long ago.
12   In that day the Lord GOD of hosts     called for weeping and mourning,     for baldness and wearing sackcloth; 13   and behold, joy and gladness,     killing oxen and slaughtering sheep,     eating flesh and drinking wine.   “Let us eat and drink,     for tomorrow we die.” 14   The LORD of hosts has revealed himself in my ears:   “Surely this iniquity will not be atoned for you until you die,”     says the Lord GOD of hosts.
15 Thus says the Lord GOD of hosts, “Come, go to this steward, to Shebna, who is over the household, and say to him: 16 What have you to do here, and whom have you here, that you have cut out here a tomb for yourself, you who cut out a tomb on the height and carve a dwelling for yourself in the rock? 17 Behold, the LORD will hurl you away violently, O you strong man. He will seize firm hold on you 18 and whirl you around and around, and throw you like a ball into a wide land. There you shall die, and there shall be your glorious chariots, you shame of your master’s house. 19 I will thrust you from your office, and you will be pulled down from your station. 20 In that day I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, 21 and I will clothe him with your robe, and will bind your sash on him, and will commit your authority to his hand. And he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. 22 And I will place on his shoulder the key of the house of David. He shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open. 23 And I will fasten him like a peg in a secure place, and he will become a throne of honor to his father’s house. 24 And they will hang on him the whole honor of his father’s house, the offspring and issue, every small vessel, from the cups to all the flagons. 25 In that day, declares the LORD of hosts, the peg that was fastened in a secure place will give way, and it will be cut down and fall, and the load that was on it will be cut off, for the LORD has spoken.”

The Full Assurance of Faith
19 Therefore, brothers,Or brothers and sisters‘>1 since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
26 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. 29 How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32 But recall the former days when, after you were enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings, 33 sometimes being publicly exposed to reproach and affliction, and sometimes being partners with those so treated. 34 For you had compassion on those in prison, and you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one. 35 Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. 37 For,
“Yet a little while,     and the coming one will come and will not delay; 38   but my righteous one shall live by faith,     and if he shrinks back,   my soul has no pleasure in him.”
39 But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.

I Cry Out Day and Night Before You
A Song. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. To the choirmaster: according to Mahalath Leannoth. A MaskilProbably musical or liturgical terms‘>1 of Heman the Ezrahite.
88   O LORD, God of my salvation,     I cry out day and night before you. 2   Let my prayer come before you;     incline your ear to my cry! 3   For my soul is full of troubles,     and my life draws near to Sheol. 4   I am counted among those who go down to the pit;     I am a man who has no strength, 5   like one set loose among the dead,     like the slain that lie in the grave,   like those whom you remember no more,     for they are cut off from your hand. 6   You have put me in the depths of the pit,     in the regions dark and deep. 7   Your wrath lies heavy upon me,     and you overwhelm me with all your waves. Selah 8   You have caused my companions to shun me;     you have made me a horrorOr an abomination‘>2 to them.   I am shut in so that I cannot escape; 9     my eye grows dim through sorrow.   Every day I call upon you, O LORD;     I spread out my hands to you. 10   Do you work wonders for the dead?     Do the departed rise up to praise you? Selah 11   Is your steadfast love declared in the grave,     or your faithfulness in Abaddon? 12   Are your wonders known in the darkness,     or your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness? 13   But I, O LORD, cry to you;     in the morning my prayer comes before you. 14   O LORD, why do you cast my soul away?     Why do you hide your face from me? 15   Afflicted and close to death from my youth up,     I suffer your terrors; I am helpless. The meaning of the Hebrew word is uncertain‘>3 16   Your wrath has swept over me;     your dreadful assaults destroy me. 17   They surround me like a flood all day long;     they close in on me together. 18   You have caused my beloved and my friend to shun me;     my companions have become darkness.Or darkness has become my only companion‘>4
