A Priest in Korea is Moving to the AO3

Many years ago, I was friends with Scarlatti on Livejournal, and I found she had written a whole lot of M*A*S*H fanfiction (twenty stories! That was a whole lot back then!) using the name Iolanthe.

I read all her stories - mostly Hawkeye/Mulcahy: as far as I know, she was the very first person ever to write Hawkeye/Mulcahy slash stories - and I loved them and I started seeing Hawkcahy in the series and one of her stories gave me the idea for the story that eventually grew into Sins and Virtues.

She read the final part of S&V only in first draft - I started sending her sections as soon as I had finished them - because Susan had cancer, and she died, four months before she would have turned 40. Her website, A Priest In Korea (William Christopher's description of M*A*S*H was "Oh, it's about a priest in Korea") fell into the Wayback machine, and last year, thinking of her stories again and looking for them, I found a complete snapshot of her website, and I thought "I could transfer this over to AO3 and let everyone read them: I bet they have a process for that".

They do. Julie was my Virgil as I walked through the Open Doors and now a priest in Korea has moved to AO3: A priest in Korea03. The longest story on site isn't even a Hawkeye/Mulcahy story: it's a Francis Mulcahy & Margaret Houlihan story, Polarity, which uses "a creaky old sci-fi plot device" to put Francis into Margaret's body and Margaret into Francis's -

He grew even more uneasy under the appreciative once-over with which Dickinson now favored him, and a blush warmed his face. When he caught sight of Houlihan's sidelong glare, he wondered how she -- or any other woman, for that matter -- would normally handle that kind of attention.

"Well now, Major, I can see you're a take-charge kind of gal," Dickinson drawled. "Meaning no disrespect. But your C.O. would have my head on a platter if I sent you off without an armed escort. Ain't that how you got into this mess in the first place?"

And the next-longest is also not precisely Hawkeye/Mulcahy, Playing the Game: The night air was pleasant and warm, and I was enjoying the mind-fuzzing effects of several beers, so my pace was unhurried. I'd almost made it to my tent when a man stepped out of the shadows behind the nurses' tent and latched onto my upper arm. "Hold it right there, Mister Vatican," he hissed.

I knew who it was without needing to see his face. No one but Colonel Sam Flagg, alleged CIA operative and all-around loose cannon, had ever addressed me in that fashion. I froze obediently, though my heart was racing and every instinct was telling me to flee for the hills at the earliest opportunity.

"Got a few questions for you," Flagg went on.

(sadly, now and forever unfinished, but rather in the sense of "there should have been more" than "ends on a cliffhanger")

She wrote what is still (as far as I can tell) the only Henry Blake/Trapper story, one of the few Radar/Hawkeye stories, and also Trapper/Mulcahy.

But mostly, she wrote about Francis Mulcahy falling in love with Hawkeye, and Hawkeye's gentle reciprocation.

Between us, we somehow managed to get the tent door open and cross the threshold. At that point, I expected Mulcahy to say goodnight and go pass out in his bunk, which is what I would've done, but instead he had a surprise for me.

As soon as the door closed behind us, he turned in my grasp until we were face to face. Before I had time to fully register what was going on, he'd looped his arms around my neck and was pulling me forward into a kiss.

It was, I think, the softest, sweetest, most tender kiss I've ever received...and one of the most inexplicably erotic.

What can I say? I loved her stories. She inspired me to write Hawkcahy long before that shipname was invented. I never got to meet her. I'd like you all to read her stories, and thanks to Open Doors/AO3, there they are.

Pinkie Pie + Applejack = Charlotte, the greatest baker in Equestria. Her baked goods are always full of love and warmth, always the sweetest and softest treats you can imagine. She has a habit of calling everyone "sugar" and tends to calm ponies down with slices of fresh pies before helping them with their problems. Don't let her soft and plush appearance fool you, she's still plenty strong, and could definitely rip a tree out with its roots with no problem.

Man, drawing this gal was just an absolute joy... I just keep remembering how fun it is to design those fusions over and over, and I bet it will never stop. Me and my friend tried our best to give her as much "black grandma" energy as we could, and I think we succeeded. I'm also tempted to draw her with her hair completely unbraided, just to see how voluminous it is...

Absolutely love the epilogue, especially the proposal, so sweet and intimate🥹 I think Javi pays great attention to details in general, so when it comes to the woman he adores, of coz he’d have memorised every word she said, plans the whole thing as she likes, and make sure nothing gets in the way of her saying yes💛 also him being all nervous and weird and reader calling him out🤣 ain’t he just the softest and sweetest💛 Javi is down bad and so fucking whipped and I love that for him

Honestly LNT makes me feel all kinds of things. On one hand I feel like a proud mum, watching my favourite trouble maker find love and settle down. On the other I feel a NEED to find a connection like Javi and reader’s, like my standard in man has gone impossibly high now. I can’t imagine settling for someone who isn’t normally a grump but can’t stop the grin when they see me, who doesn’t call me hermosa at least once a day, and who doesn’t text in all lower case without punctuations

Can’t believe weekly LNT update has finally come to an end, it truly feels like the end of a great tv season, it’s gonna be hard to get through the hiatus🥲 I hope we get to see more of their lives soon, maybe their wedding in the near future?🤭

I’m never fully sure what to do with super lovely comments (I’m a giver of compliments, not a fabulous receiver) but gosh this made me warm all inside and made my heart double.

Javi’s analytical mind works so well for things he needs to remember, and gosh he loves his crossword gal.

if I could bestow on you a LNT Javi I would! even if his punctuation made my brain HURT when I edited. romcoms are my absolute favourite thing to enjoy, so finally writing one that is as mushy as me has been so fulfilling! I’m already itching to write another and just in search of a plot.

also, not to be super overshary on main, but a little secret: some of the banter-filled texts were from my husband and I’s text chains, so I promise there’s people out there like that (albeit with much better punctuation)

I think next Tuesday is when it’ll hit me again. This week I’ve been blinded by a headache, but next week when I get home and realise I have nothing to schedule 🥹😭😭 what am I gonna do with myself?

I promise you’ll see more of them soon, I’m not fully sure if I’ll do the wedding, because currently there’s lots of the scenes in the middle of the epilogue I’d love to write — such as what does reader wear to Halloween 👀

To the Obey Me Fandom!!

We don't get enough outfits for formal events! I refuse to believe that for centuries that orbits haven't changed or that they haven't been to parties in different outfits. But because I can draw dudes and I love the freedom women's formal wear gives me and there's only so many ways to draw a suit, I have decided to mix things up and drew our favorite some dresses! And the theme?

Their Animals

Lucifer - Pride = The Peacock

I gave Luci an greecian style dress, but not a modern one, a classically goddess like one. I fully got the inspiration from Hera, because not only is she the queen of the gods and would dress like it, the animal that is a symbol of her power is the peacock. I find it fitting for pride herself to liken to a goddess of goddesses.

Mammon - Greed = Crows

Mammon is greedy, his animals are crows, so I found it fitting to give his currently female counterpart a feathery feel. A simple flowy sleeveless dress pair with an elegant and extravagant cloak with a big ol hood. It could be tacky . . . But it's not. It's soft and lovely and gorgeous and with the hood hooked half on her head, it's a very mysterious feel and she's not a model for nothing.

Leviathan - Envy = Serpent

Snake, serpent, close enough! Give this woman a sliky slinky sexy dress with double slits, thigh high boots and tall gloves, and a metal snake wrapped around her, this is a femme fatal. And she is GORGEOUS! Give her anime villainess vibes, she'll suddenly have the confidence to pull this outfit and she'll rock it. She gotta pretend it's cosplay but if it works, it works.

Satan - Wrath = Unicorn

What do I think of for anyone in a dress with a Unicorn theme just like any normal person? Amalthea from The Last Unicorn, that's right! Soft and smooth, gentle, but also I gave her a cape around and a belt because I wanted to make it a bit more accurately medieval with a modern twist. Does that makes sense? No! But wrath has the softest sweetest dress out of all of them, and that's just as much of a juxtaposition. Don't me and my choices, Satan loves that book, cried watching the movie, and I will stand by that.

Asmodeus - Lust = Scorpion

Dress? Nah, she's got a corset bodysuit, low rise slacks with big ol slits up both sides, and a 3/4 sleeve suit jacket to hide the sluttiness of the outfit. . . Mostly. But shortie gloves, garters and thigh highs, and a badly drawn chunky scorpion necklace adds some of that hidden flair back. It's sexy and can get sexier and that belt is the only thing keeping those poor pants up. And yes, it's mostly pink, Asmo was going for Slutty Elle Woods vibes and it's fantastic.

Beelzebub - Gluttony = Flies

Big woman, big muscles, ans that goes without saying she's a big tit gal. That chest wrap though is not faking it, it's got an under layer that wraps around and hooks to the back whereas the top layer just moves over and falls back into something beautiful reminiscent of her own wings/flies wings. It's also got a collar with a chain that goes under it to hold the single place where the long loose flowy skirt its connected to. Beel needs more soft flowy stuff in general sometimes, just becuase it looks wonderful on built people. (Also opinion on the gloves? cause I don't know how I feel about them just yet.)

Belphegor - Sloth = Cow

Yes she looks like a cowgirl, yes it's a two piece, I think it's hilariously genius. Straight top with a slit in the long sleeve that cuts off under the halter vest and then the three layered skirt starts with the belt. Is she wearing heels or boots? Who knows, it was probably heels until Lucifer got far enough away or busy enough she wouldn't hear the lack of clicking of heels. And yes, there might be a scarf headband, she currently doesn't have a head, so until I find it, we don't know.

Hi, I have Lisa brain rot rn so I'm writing some self-indulgent fluff for her, don't @ me. Lisa, my love 😌

As you probably already know, Lisa is already a very affectionate person even when not in a relationship.

So obviously, that'd increase x10 when in one. As is the natural cycle of life.

I'd like to know about your OCs!

Okay okay so! I have...a lot of them, but these four are my main fantasy group and are absolutely the closest to my heart

First we got Charlie. Best way to describe her is a hummingbird harpy I think. She’s a feathery gal with them bird feet and wings, but she has separate arms as well so, not really a harpy but close enough. She’s definitely the biggest prankster and daredevil of the group, and there isn’t much she won’t do on a dare. She’s pretty street smart too so she’s good at getting out of any trouble some of her more adventurous tendencies land her in. Also, she will not hesitate to throw hands with you if you mess with her or her friends. She’s 5”0 and 90 pounds of whoopass do not test her.

Next is Jake and he’s actually the first oc I ever made! Lad is an arboreal naga, so he’s built like a stick and can climb easy as breathing. He’s super good with plants and has his own garden where he grows all sorts of medicinal herbs that he 100% knows every single use for. He also has a big staff he carries around so people assume he’s a wizard but nah, he’s just a plant nerd with a stick. He does tend to take himself too seriously sometimes and shh don’t tell anyone but he’s low key super rich. Sure he might need reminders to sleep sometimes and may or may not be stressed out 24/7 because his friends are all stupid, but hey that’s just the constant life of the mom friend. Also he might be venomous but idk he won’t tell me for sure

Then we got Nero, my boy. My main idiot. He’s also got them wings but he’s not covered in feathers like Charlie and he didn’t get the bird feet either. Just them shiny crow wings. And as you would expect of a crow, he’s a thief with an obsession with all things shiny. He’s also extremely charming and witty, and can smooth talk himself out of pretty much any situation. But he’s not exactly greedy or self absorbed either. He cares pretty deeply about anyone who calls him friend and will do just about anything to make them smile, though sometimes his efforts can make him seem selfish and a bit of an airhead. He. Is. Trying. His. Best. Also idk why I drew him with a bandana I’ve never done that before

And last, Leo. My beloved. My personal blorbo. He is, the absolute sweetest out of every single character I have ever made. Fun fact, he started out as a part of Jake before I split him off into his own character. Leo is a titan naga. Physically he looks pretty similar to common nagas except for his horns and sharp spines lining his back from the nape of his neck to the tip of his tail. Oh yeah, he’s also about 15-20 feet tall so there’s that too. He’s a mountain lad so his scales are super thick and rough, and he’s built much sturdier than nagas like Jake cause you know, he’s gotta be able to burrow through virtually solid rock and such. Despite his intimidating appearance though he’s the softest, most gentle kid you’ll ever meet. He cares more about his friends than he does himself and always, ALWAYS puts them first. Made him way before I ever saw newsies but he gives me major Crutchie vibes now that I think about it. He’s pretty tactile so he’ll constantly be picking folks up, but he never means anything by it and will not hesitate to put someone down if they ask. Nero and Charlie are virtually always perched somewhere on his head or shoulders and he loves it so much. Sweet baby boy. Cinnamon roll. Too good for this world too pure.

I have a few other ocs that are more sci-fi related and one I’m actually writing a mythopoetic story for right now, but these are my main squad and I would die for them. Also yes they are all vore ocs as well because I went and made that part of my world building whoops. ok time to break my silence caused by the fact that i spent all day making this lol too many feels

so.. palm springs thoughts !! and there are manyyyy so buckle up and feeel free to hit me up with either matching or contradicting thoughts or whateveer!! i would LOVE to nerd out about this movie with someone:’)

here comes thoughts and pictures!!

we basically start off with a mr. samberg sex-scene okAYYYYY the mood is set. we love the view

nyles aka. mr. samberg is the most gorgeous man alive and it was a true pleasure to admire him for 90 minutes straight

CURLS!!????! THEY ARE UNREAL. i shall dedicate an entire post to them

Cristin Milioti is perfect for her role. her acting? *chef’s kiss* I love that she’s not the stereotypical female rom-com lead.

Her chemistry with Andy? Gosh.. Can’t believe Nyles x Sarah is my new main movie-ship!! They play off of each other SO. WELL. Their characters are equally stone cold and bitter, but then again not really, and they both portray it so well!!

“You don’t ned a leg up.” *moans* “Hold my leg up!” i SCREAMED

“Don’t you kiss me.” “Don’t you tell me what to do.” hoW DARE THEY!

Ok ur basically on love already stop it

The fact that they were just gonna fuck on a blanket on top OF ROCKS?!

but then again in this movie’s already insane universe it’s prob pretty normal:)

The overall dark, existential humor?? This is what I live and breathe for on a daily basis. Basiaclly both main characters are a BIG MOOD

Nyles not giving a shit vs. Sarah severely freaking out in the beginning is an iconic dynamic

“I am the antichrist” and then the rock falling? For a hot sec I literally thought the movie was gonna take a turn with Nyles being some magical/scientific creature that’d created the timeloop or something idkkk ahhha

Nyles in the suit... ridiculous(ly hot)

The torture methods Roy uses on Nyles and the fact that he’s not mentally scarred?? How??

On that note I love that Nyles and Sarah keep their memories even if the day starts over. Would’ve been a completely different concept if they had to “meet each other for the first time” every day and it wouldn’t’ve allowed their relationship arc to evolve as it did

Darla is the fucking shit

Nyles in the baseball cap, amirite?

THE BARTENDER TALKING ABOUT HITTING A GUY WITH THE CAR SHE’S CURRENTLY GIVING NYLES A HANDJOB IN IS COMEDIC GOLD

the deep talks by the fire were SO well written. they were actually deep and genuine, allowing the characters to grow and opening up to us as viewers but also remained fun and witty

sarah trying to get nyles to admit he cares for her and him joking it off??? the flirtinggg

really wish we’d gotten to know more about what nyles meant with “it drifts away: just like they all do.” because it really seemed to trigger something within him. Like WHO “They”???

the dinosaurs lmao no comment but at least they got a cute cuddly moment

from the very first millisecond inside the tent you can CLEARLY tell Sarah is just dying to do something about them!!!

the disbelief on nyles’ face when sarah says “lets just get it over with” because she’d clearly stated he didn’t want to and even though he obviously did he’s respected it and not done anything further about it oh babey

I actually really love Roy’s character. It turns out to be very humble actually and he has some insightful and lowkey poetic that lines i love. Besides that he’s hilarious.

SO the whole time i was wondering how they’d get out of the whole “same day forever”-thing, if they were to. and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that they had such a logical way out of it: science. Not anything cheesy like “a true love’s kiss” or “you learned your lesson”. Pure logic and Sarah’s hard work to get there. Huge fan of this.

I will never get over how good Nyles looks waking up and Sarah is xtra pretty in that scene:’)

Nyles just wants to stay in a loop forever because it means for sure that he gets to stay with Sarah forever and I’m lowkey into it but also like lowkey LISTEN TO HER AND GO WITH HER PLAN, NYLES

here’s mali , she’s a muse i’ve always wanted to play but never been able to !

inspiration for her is mandy milkovich from shameless , rosa diaz from b99 , rebeca from elite , kiara from outer banks and viola from shes the man

mali was raised in a house filled with boys , and her father was quite strict and determined . her relationship with her father has never been very personal, but more so almost like a business deal , or like a coach and his student

mali was quite active as a child , and quite energetic . she was always running around and bouncing off walls - it drove her father wild because he could never make her sit still , whilst also trying to raise her older brothers at the same time

because of this , mali kinda took to her own devices . she was introduced to soccer at school , and that was her first love . she found herself playing it at every lunch break , or rolling the ball under the desk during class time . it helped with her jitteriness

it took a year or two before her father realised that she was quite keen on soccer , and she was good at it - and he was overjoyed at the talent she had when it came to playing . she was a strong striker and attacker , but she was also quite aggressive and competitive on the field . she didn’t really have much etiquette when it came to the game , and she would play dirty at times . this . . only made her father even happier . suddenly he went from barely noticing her , to being at every soccer practice and game she had . he bought her the best soccer cleats he could afford , and pushed for her to win every game and score as many goals as possible . he went from not being very invested in mali , as the only girl in the family ( he didn’t know what to do with a girl ) , to being her number one fan

at first it was great . . but then . . her father got a little overbearing and controlling. if she didn’t make a shot , she could feel his disappointment radiating from a mile away . if she allowed someone to trip or foul her , her father would berate her in the car for not having been more intuitive . her father pushed her to be more and more competitive and the best she could be . mali still thoroughly loved soccer , but she started to find it slightly draining .

whenever she had a second of time outside of studying , her father would be making her run drills or shoot goals in the backyard . she never really got a lot of time to be by herself or do stuff she wanted ( like just normal teenage girl stuff . . getting crushes on people , going to house parties , having her first beer . . )

mali has spent majority of her time either with her brothers and her father ( the entire house is pure chaos . messy . loud burping . video games . yelling across rooms to each other . there’s constant noise at all hours of the day ) , or hanging out with her fellow soccer team players ( sometimes they got along with mali , sometimes they saw her as too much of a ball hog or taking the game ‘ too seriously ‘ ) . mali hasn’t really had a chance to develop many friendships outside of this , and it’s beginning to really effect her

mali has decided to take somewhat of a step back from soccer ( and the competitiveness of it ) , but she’s also not telling her father about that . mali misses having FUN with playing , instead of seeing it as a sport and chore .

she also wants to have the full college experience . her entire first year was dedicated to soccer and getting used to college and living out of home for the first time . this new independency is fantastic , but mali has no idea what to do with it . she wants to live . really live . really get the full experience .

mali really wants to be more ‘ feminine ‘ . she wants to know how to do boss eyeliner , and wear pretty dresses with heels . at the moment , her wardrobe consists of baggy sweaters , ripped jeans , and a lot of sweatpants . she finds woman to be so so beautiful . . but looks at herself and sees a Gremlin . . oh to be a Woman . . wow . .

mali can be described as . . . very very blunt and loudmouthed . a bi disaster . chaotic and messy . competitive and driven , but also very blasé and careless at times ( reckless may be a better word ) . she’s very spontaneous , and always up for literally anything ( if u wanna get a burrito at 2am , mali will come . if you want to roadtrip across the state , mali will ride shotgun . she never says no )

mali is very sick of being seen as ‘ one of the dudes ‘ or ‘ one of the guys ‘ , she especially wants to be making more female friends and have more females in her life , because . . she’s literally never had many that weren’t on the soccer team with her , or her own competition !

connections ( but also pls i will fill any connection u WANT )

trainwreck meet trainwreck : give me two disaster bastards ! together they are absolute chaos ! they are very similair in that they are both abrasive and intense and very high energy . they usually will encourage each others bad behaviours or be somewhat of a bad influence to each other

‘ one of the boys ‘ : give me a male friend who literally sees mali as another one of the guys . it irks mali sometimes and she has to remind them , hey . . im a girl too , and they’re always like ‘ yeah but ur not a GIRL girl ‘ , and that lowkey grinds her gears . SHE WANTS TO BE A GIRL GIRL

soft females : please . . my god . . give me the softest sweetest gal to mali’s absolute demonic energy

soccer players : 100000% believe mali has challenged ur character to an impromptu game of soccer at one point . it doesn’t matter if ur not in the same league or team as mali . if u play soccer for even one second , she will want to size u up and try Beat u at it .

childhood friends : i ain’t never seen two pretty childhood friends . . no i’m kidding , but i do love childhood friends so SO much

ride or die : I LOVE RIDE OR DIES . GIVE ME TWO PEOPLE WHO WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR EACH OTHER AT ANY TIME . THEY’D DROP ENTIRE WORLDS FOR EACH OTHER

The guy also lives in a gym, on your RIGHT af, because he’s got to maintain those gainz. He’ll never tell you he’s rich...because he doesn’t think he is. His legal guardian, Uncle Tony, is the billionaire. Bucky just happens to have a black card to use for everything. He can come across as an “I don’t speak poor” douchebag but is totally mostly joking. Ever the sweetheart, he tries to give his best friend and roommate Sam money all the time. But Sam would rather die than use his best friend for a quick buck, pun intended.

Sam Wilson: Sam Wilson...Sammy T...but don’t call him that. Sam’s a trainwreck of a man. He believes that C’s get degrees but tells his mum he gets B’s. He hates the gym but only because Bucky can lift more than him. He’s 24 and still not quite sure what’s going on with his life but heck he’s enjoying his degree in psychology and sociology. Working the night shift at the local supermarket Sam refuses to let his nephew of a billionaire pay for anything unless it’s the power bill. He comes off strong but like Bucky, Sam is a softie and trips at the sight of a gorgeous gal. Though his smooth tongue usually helps him through the fall, he’s a loyal man and will always be there to make fun of friends...just don’t make fun of them for him or he’ll have to throw hands.

Inca has lived with us for a long time. She came in with a litter of kittens and we still have her and her two "babies" - Gary and Noelle. They are a bonded family. Inca still acts as mom to her "babies" and puts them in their place when she needs to. Inca is a real character. She is a large girl but she loves her neck rubbed and scratched. She is a beautiful tuxedo gal with the sweetest face. Sometime she gets a little feisty but she has loads of personality.

Gary is a sweet but shy boy. He would do best in a nice quiet home. He loves to have his head and neck scratched but he is easily startled. But we think once he gets settled in, he will bond with the right family. He loves his mom and sister - Inca and Noelle and he gets along with other cats. Gary is a total Mama's boy.

Noelle is a very pretty dilute tortoiseshell. She is a big girl - very long. She has the softest bunny fur. She loves her brother Gary and snuggling with her mom - Inca. Noelle likes being the boss - except around her mom. Then she is a real momma's girl. We have had Noelle and her family for a long time and they are truly in need of a good home.
