let’s talk about scripting and trauma

before i start this, i want to preface it: i am in no way trying to shame anyone who has trauma in this reality. if you want to script in the trauma you already have into your dr, that’s your own decision and i will never shame you for it. everyone copes with it differently. this is about people scripting in trauma “for the plot” or to “spice things up.”

i see a ton of people on shifttok and the shifting server i help run talking about their drs and the trauma they script in. especially minors not fully understanding what will actually happen to them.

so this is just a friendly reminder from someone who’s been in the community a long time: just because you can script certain things doesn’t mean you should. scripting in trauma into your backstories and scenarios are not cute or quirky or fun. you will experience that. you will have new trauma. it is not something you should be wanting, especially if it’s to relate to someone or to be able to be comforted by your favorite people in your dr.

your dr isn’t some fun fanfiction where the things that happen doesn’t matter. it’s real life. it’s your life. you and all the people there are real, with feelings and emotions. that’s also a reminder to really think about the places you’re shifting to, and to script out things that could possibly traumatize you (i’m specifically talking about places like harry potter, the walking dead, marvel, criminal minds, supernatural, etc.).

there have been a ton of shifters that have spoken out about the trauma they’ve gained from their drs because of the things they’ve experienced (harry potter, criminal minds, and marvel especially).

on top of that, minors in the community are very impressionable, and while i know some adult shifters don’t want to interact with minors, i feel as though it is important to remind and guide them down the right path so they don’t end up doing something that cannot be reversed. especially when they have access to places like shifttok where bad ideas are spread rapidly.

just something to think about and remember when scripting your drs.

Backstory - MCU dr

I did make a post that everything about me in my MCU dr is based off the movie maleficent. I loved that movie so much and I wanted to be her so bad. So yeah........ This is my backstory.

When I was 5 months old I was sent through a tree to Soulaa by my Bio-Parents because the humans were attacking the Moors. Luckily The Moors wasn’t destroyed, My parents protected it and put a unbreakable wall around the Moors. Unfortunately they died in the process. But the magic they used is still keeping the wall up.

Evidently I'll have to go to the moors because the magic started withering away. Someone from the moors comes to find me and bring me back. That doesn't happen till later on in the future so let's not worry about it.

MCU dr: Daughter of Heimdall

Name: Astrid Heimdalldittir

Birthday: January 24

Height: 5'8"

Appearance: I have natural white hair like above, but it will be short like in the second picture. I have orange-brown like eyes like Heimdall, my dad. It also glows like his too.

Backstory: So long story short, I was born in Asgard to my father and my mom (who was a Valkyrie. We all know what happens to them. I might script she also survived). But anyways, Hela had been targeting me because of my powers that I got from my mom's side. It skipped a generation and got to me. Because of that, my dad teleported me to Earth, where I was taken to an orphanage. I grew up there, all the way until I was 15.

One day when I was 15 and walking through New York, the avengers were fighting a villain and a big piece of debris was flying my way. And me not knowing I had powers, I put my hands out to defend myself (my dumb ass would've died anyways) and my powers activated without me knowing. I had froze the debris to save myself. Me, being the scared teenager, ran back to the orphanage to hide from attention. But most of them noticed who I was. Next day before I knew it, I was getting adopted by the avengers and living with them 💪🏾

Powers: I will be able to control all the elements (more like tech, metal and others) but I first start off with Ice, Fire, Water, and Lightning. I also have super strength, super speed, y'know all the Asgardian stuff since I'm Asgardian. I also scripted to have the same Omni-senses like my father. My fighting will be like how the elemental benders fight in the Avatar ☺️. In the future I will learn how to use Asgardian magic too. I have like two pages for powers 💪🏾🙄

Extra info:

Kinda funny how I had this script for a long time and the official name of Heimdall's first child in the canon MCU is also named Astrid. He's a boy though 💀

I'm gonna be the Norse Goddess of Nature.

I can play multiple instruments, just like in my other realities. It's the one thing that I always keep

I scripted that Asgard isn't destroyed (duh) and that Loki doesn't die. So he will also be there with the avengers (I'm so excited to see him)

I based off my mom's appearance from the marvel hero Storm (she's so pretty please-)

I'm still going to school with Peter, and we'll be out own hero duo (like ladybug and cat noir. Love myself for scripting this).

I can talk to animals 🤭

I am able to control all the elements, including electricity, technology, and I can also do Energy Absorption, Solar manipulation, moon energy manipulation, water bending, earth bending, fire bending, airbending, blood bending, metal bending, lava bending, i can also control plants, techno manipulation, flora and fauna manipulation, matter manipulation, crystal manipulation, allspeak

This was one of my first scripts lol. Still glad I'm shifting here. It was also where I first shifted. I had scripted to have one of the children to wake me up, and I saw her. She was wearing a pink dress too 🩷🩷

something i always talk about is cycles ending and beginning, because i want you all to know this will not last forever. you will reach the end of this battle and be able to move onto the next.

and when the end is in sight, like it is for me, it becomes much easier to encourage others

anyways let’s get into what i want to say.

THERE IS A PROMISE OF COMPLETION OH MY GOD!!!

anything that the universe starts you in, you will finish it. the bible says it too!!

i’m gonna tell yall right now, i don’t know what religion u are and i honestly don’t care because it doesn’t matter. and it doesn’t matter because JESUS CHRIST ISNT FUCKING BACK RIGHT NOW!!!

he is referring to god, but it can refer to what you believe in! “being confident in this, that it/they/she/he/i who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

if you started something like shifting, even just on a spiritual journey, you will reach every single fucking goal you set for yourself until you can do what the universe created you to do!!!

and i promise you, for me, shifting is part of what my goal in this life is for. and it probably is for you too if you were introduced to it.

i hope this helps someone, and remember the universe will not leave you half way <3 you will get there and do it.

and if you’re manifesting something, the same applies. the universe will not leave you half way. you will get all you want and more.

I know nothing about DC, but wanna try shifting there, anything I should know that you can tell me as heads up so I don't make a stupid mistake or anything to avoid in particular?

There are so many things I could say for this one.

First of all, my universe and that one you’re going to may be different and thus have different problems, people, events, etc. so, while some of this advice might be great for my universe, but I hope it also works for you as well.

Mentally recognize/script/or have a job that you make FANTASTIC wage/money at. Or that you’ve been building up your savings since you were a child. Money is great to have and not to worry about.

Also, mentally recognize that you might have healing abilities, great mental/physical support system, and etc. this will severely help you. Even if you’re not a vigilante or whatever you want in your desired reality. It’s great to have. Maybe make sure that you have been studying various languages, practical knowledge (like how to undo knots, etc), have some self defense training, and have some common sense since you were a child in your DR. Having a great mental and physical support system will literally do you wonders, trust me. Maybe recognize that you have a dependable therapist and friends/family for your emotional and mental health. It sounds foolish but seriously, it will help. Especially if you’re planning to be a hero/vigilante or something. Or not. Whatever you do imma support you. ♥️

Please, please, please do not make the League of Assass*ns as one of your enemies unless you can’t avoid it. Or Deathstroke. 😭💀

If you are a superhero/vigilante/whatever, have multiple suits. At least two.

I know it’s tempting but don’t start a semi-serious prank war with Tim Drake. Save yourself.

Remember that people in different universe will act different. Bruce Wayne is not going to look, act, be exactly like how ours is in this universe. You may have an idea of your relationship with them or how they act already, and that’s awesome! Just keep in mind that they might not be exactly how they’re portrayed in this universe via movies, shows, comic books, and so on. It doesn’t mean that they’re terrible or anything but that they are still people. Just like how we are in this universe, they are people too.

Cities sometimes literally stink. So yeah. Just a heads up. Especially Gotham. The Batfamily (if you ever deal with them) are usually always at war/sibiling fighting with one another. But unless you grew up with them or have very strong ties, they are all very weary of others. So are the Superfam and the Arrowfam. <- they’re not always kind of fighting with one another but they’re cautious of outsiders. After all the things they’ve all been through, it’s understandable.

Do NOT go to any of the Robins/former Robins for relationship advice. Ever. Go to Lois Lane instead.

Prepare for a lot of exercising and training. There’s no way around it. 😭 I’m sorry- good luck bestie.

Most importantly: make mistakes.

It’s how people learn. It’s okay. It’s how we grow. There is nothing wrong with making a mistake. You are allowed to. I made tons and will probably continuing doing so. There’s nothing wrong about that, it’s just how we grow. You got this. Hope this helps.

Hey y’all, how y’all doin?????

So I’m currently focusing on my MCU DR so here’s some fun things I scripted 🤠

AKA I wanna talk about this DR but I’m too lazy to make a formal post pt.2

-I scripted Tobey and Andrew as Peter’s older brothers (no way home got my ass lmao)

-The Parker’s produce their own webs (like Tobey’s Peter Parker, idk it just makes more sense to me)

-I added two infinity stones. The Death Stone (all black) and the Life Stone (all white) ((literally idk why I just thought it made sense, I like it so I’m keeping it))

-Sam and Dean are super soldiers and Cas is a witch (they’re all on the team)

-Cas’ power color is blue with a white core

-Pietro and Wanda are my older siblings (found family type beat)

-Pietro doesn’t die (cuz duh that’s my big bro)

-Bucky is our dad (we’re adopted)

-Bucky (The Winter Soldier at the time) didn’t kill Tony’s parents

-Wanda’s powers are green with a black core (listen red is my favorite color and I don’t feel like sharing, also this is a shared DR now and Abbi doesn’t wanna share her yellow powers, so Wanda’s new color is green. it’s our DR fight us🤷🏻‍♀️)

-I have dragon companion named Havok (I accidentally brought him to life)

-Loki was under the control of the mind stone when he tried to take over the earth (Thor used Cognitive recalibration ((hit him on the head really hard)) and when Loki came to he joined the team to fight the Chitauri)
