Merry Christmas and Happiest of New Years to @master-tonberry​. It’s been a joy being your secret santa for @monstax-info​ and getting to know you so well! I feel like we are fast friends and so well-matched, which is why I wanted to make something extra special for you. <3

I tried to take many of the things I learned in our time together and create something meaningful. I took our combined love of fantasy epics and your love of “found family” to design a movie poster in the style of films we loved from our youths and featured your biases (with your favorite hair colors) at the front. I added the Milky Way and mountain elements from your “day with Jooheon,” an Icelandic volcano and German castle from your many homelands, and a treehouse dream house, too. To include “you” in your story, I added your spirit animal, a bluejay, as a guide for the Monstas. :) And from our last ask, I added the hourglass Minhyuk painted in the “Destroyer” MV as a nod to your wish to freeze time, which I thought was perfectly in the spirit of famous Monsta X themes.

Chapter 2

Monika POV

After walking out, I step inside the Street Women Fighter set. Looking around the room, I hear everyone cheering me on and just smile. Then I heard our iconic PROUDMON song and started to do our famous dance. Everyone starts to cheer even louder. Eventually, I go and sit down in the judges' chair, and the other judges are revealed. After Mike and Shownu step on, we start to move on to the actual competition. I start to slowly gaze around the room to see the difference in the crews, only to be stuck on one specific pair of gorgeous eyes.

It almost feels like time stops for a second, as chic as that sounds. I start to analyze everything about her eyes. The light green mixture of Christmas ornaments. I then look further down and stare at every aspect of her. She is fucking gorgeous. The most beautiful women I've ever seen. But once I look back at her eyes, I notice she is already staring at me with a dangerous gaze. Her eyes dont have an innocent glow. She is staring at me like she has other intents. Her eyes dont resemble precious ornaments, and no, they are full of wonder. She has more of a furious approach. They remind me of a deadly river.

I eventually break eye contact when Daniel starts speaking about the first part of the competition. I guess we are about to begin with the no-respect battles, so everyone is told to take a break to change their clothes.i can still feel her stare burning into me. And she isn't trying to be shy about it. Almost like she wants me to know, or maybe I'm just overthinking it. I've had to pee for a while, so this is the perfect time to use the bathroom. I make my way to the bathroom it took me a moment with these stupid oversized heels. I lot of complaints have been happening about bruising so they are starting to make our shoes fucking huge it seems. I step into the bathroom, cursing at this skirt that won't come off.

I stop for a moment when I hear someone coming inside the restroom as well. Then, I continue to pull this skin-tight ass skirt off my body. I finally pull it off and use the bathroom. After I'm done, I go through hell and back to get the skirt back on. It looks easy, but it's a difficult task. I walk out the bathroom and go to wash my hands and start humming to myself. I almost forgot there was another person in here until. Someone grabbed my shoulder. "Holy, shit," I said as I turned around only to see the familiar black women. I couldn't keep my eyes off off. She smiles at me, I notice her dimples and smiley piercing.

I realize I'm staring when she starts laughing. "Earth to Monika. I've been trying to get your attention for a couple of minutes. I'm pretty sure my face can't be that interesting. " She familiar stranger says while looks at me with her big beautiful eyes. "Oo, I'm sorry it's just you kinda scared me, so it took a moment," i say while laughing along with her. Then I take notice of her language, she is speaking korean. "You're from Jam Republic, right? I didn't know any of you could speak Korean. " I said while waiting for her response, her voice is amazing, by the way. She seems so lively but intriguing. "Yea, I was kinda raised her to be honest, oo, and I'm Ashley, by the way. I don't know. I'd judges have to look at everyone single profile, but I don't expect you to remember names. So I'd thought I save you the trouble." She says, seeming very excited to meet me. So, I respond with enthusiasm. "I'm Monika. Nice to meet you, Ashley", before I could speak further, she cut me off.

"I know who you are, i mean, i feel like i have to. You're our judge, so i had to check out your skills before anyone else. I came to say i hi and possibly get to know you. And i know what you're gonna say. This is a competition, and you can't really speak to me. I understand that, but i know how to separate wpkr from my social life. Plus, you're allowed to have friends, right?" She says while looking at me with a look I can't quite describe. Though I don't know her intentions, she could be using this as a way for a vote. "First of all, you called me what now?" She looks back at me and then at the ceiling. "Monika, or is that not your name, Ms. Shin. " She smirks while waiting for a comeback, though while any other time I could do it, my heart felt stuck.

She is flirting with me. I have to watch out for her. "Of course, I know what my name is, sweetheart, but in Korea, I'm pretty sure you know it doesn't work like that, don't you?" She looks at me smiling before her gaze goes further down my body. "Wow, you're a bold one, aren't you? This is a competition, I don't think it would be best for us to get to know each other right now. And by that look in your eye, I can tell you want to do a lot more then sit in talk. I'm way too old for you sweetie". I tell her, trying to keep a straight face. It's hard, though. It looks like she wants to devour me right here right now. But someone has to be the mature one here.

Ashley's POV

I stare at her, biting my lips again. It should be a fucking crime to look this good in a skirt. It's like she isn't aware of how amazing she looks right now. "I do want to talk, among other things. If it makes you feel better, we can start off by talking and working our way into more details later on. " I said while watching her reaction. Ive already come to terms with easy I want, she just doesn't know it yet. "Age means nothing. I mean, what's a 15-year age gap when we both know what we want? " She tries to speak before I cut her off again and move closer. "I'm aware of what I want, and you should know I always get what I want. I'll play your little game, though it seems fun. Be ready, sweetie. Seems i found a much better prize now, haven't I unnie?" She just stressed at me shocked.

Y/N always loved Christmas. Ever since she was young, she always found the holiday to be the most enchanted and romantic. She adored the decorations and festivities; she reveled in the warmth of the lit fireplaces and fluffy blankets; she was filled with joy that people had always seemed more giving and friendly. It probably didn’t help that her childhood was spent in an idyllic, snowy town.

But that was when she was younger—a free-spirit with not a care in the world other than waiting for the first snowfall to make snowmen and angels. In her late teens, Y/N’s family had moved away, and ever since then, Y/N has longed for that picture-perfect Christmas once again.

She wanted to go back to the days of the fresh, fluffy snow and the perfect cookies her grandmother made and the beautifully decorated neighborhood houses with twinkling trees and a wreath on every window. She didn’t want to spend another second worrying so much about work and bills or having so many responsibilities that she didn’t even have time to hang up a stocking.

Her aunt, the woman who understood Y/N’s love for Christmas best, was the one to get her out of her cheer-less slump with an early present on the first day of December. She had gotten Y/N a one-of-a-kind snow globe. It was large with a polished wooden base; the inside depicted that perfect Christmas town Y/N had been longing for since her childhood.

It’s magic. That’s what her aunt had told her. The snow globe was full of the whimsy and Christmas cheer that Y/N was missing this year. She had told her niece if she shook it and believed hard enough, she would be taken away to a winter wonderland with everything she was looking for.

Later that night Y/N had smiled sadly as she shook the snow globe and placed it on her bedside table. She so badly wanted what her aunt had said to be true, but it just wasn’t possible. Magic didn’t exist, and the perfect Christmas was a memory lost to time from Y/N’s past.

However, as Y/N slept that night, swirls of snowflakes and a white glow drifted from the snow globe, enveloping Y/N. As a bitter wind brushed over her, Y/N awoke to find herself laying in a snowpile in the Christmas town from her decoration.

“Are you alright?”

Y/N startled at the voice, whipping to the side to find a tall, broad-chested man looking down at her. He smiled softly, highlighting his handsome features, and reached out to help her up. She nodded, taking his hand, and stood to dust off the snow covering her.

“I’m Shownu. Are you new to town?”

Y/N simply nodded again, still too stunned by her surroundings to do much else.

She took in the little town that she could see from their spot on the hillside. Behind them was what seemed to be an endless forest of pine trees, the scent of evergreen sharp in her nose. Softer, drifting on the breeze, was the smell of cinnamon and gingerbread baking with chestnuts roasting and the sweetness of cloves and oranges being brewed for mulled wine. Snowflakes continued to dance on the icy breeze, floating down from a somehow cloudless night sky—every star shining brightly—and the town in the valley glowed with a warmth she hadn’t experienced in years.

Y/N could hardly believe it. Her aunt was right, and she had found her perfect Christmas town.

Shownu, who worked in the woodshop and lumberyard, was immediately friendly and welcoming, if not a bit shy. He offered to show her around the town, introducing Y/N to the residents and business owners—who were all just as welcoming and kind as Shownu had been to her. They all just seemed to radiate the spirit of Christmas that she so craved in her daily life.

Everything in the town was perfect, and it was easy for Y/N to fall into a routine with the townsfolk. Hours turned to days turned to weeks, and Y/N lost herself to the wonderland of the snow globe world.

Each day Y/N would awaken at the town inn and help serve the patrons breakfast as thanks for allowing her to stay. Then she would wander the town and participate in whatever activities the town was hosting—there was sledding and decorating and a town-wide bake-off and even snow castle building.

In the evenings, after Christmas festivities and daily chores were completed, Shownu would pick Y/N up at the inn and take her to dinner. He would go caroling with her and shopping for sweaters and gifts. They went to a Christmas party and were caught under the mistletoe. He asked her on a date, which involved a horse-drawn carriage and fireside hot cocoa.

Quickly, Shownu and Y/N found themselves wrapped in a bubble of not only holiday cheer, but romance and passion and love. One date turned into two. A giggly mistletoe peck turned into heated stolen kisses with breathy voices and whispered promises. Innocent hand-holding and quick hugs goodbye turned to cuddling in front of the fireplace and desperate embraces underneath the stars beneath a woolen blanket.

However, just like in any enchanting fairytale, it eventually came to an end.

On Christmas Eve, both soul and body bare, Y/N and Shownu exchanged presents and promises of a lifetime of love. But as they drifted off just before midnight in front of the dwindling fire, Y/N felt a shiver of bitter, icy air, and when she fluttered her eyes open, she found herself back in her bedroom, alone.

Y/N sat up, glancing around her small, lonely bedroom, as memories of the idyllic little Christmas town began to drift away. Until the only face she could remember was that of her Christmas love.

my first bias: kihyun. and shownu. my current bias(es): changki i would die for u two. my chaotic duo. my album and/or era ranking (or favorite of each): gambler -> take 2. we are here -> fatal love -> no limit -> take. 1 are you there? -> the connect: deja vu -> fantasia x -> shape of love -> all about luv -> follow -> the dreaming -> the code 1 & 2 ... NO idea where to put reason here. maybe between shape of love and all about luv? how i got into them: one of my best friends sent me the video to gambler and was like, hey maybe we should both check this out, they seem cool. checked them out and listened to the album casually for two months before biting the bullet and listening my way through. i only knew their first few singles before that but i became a big fan pretty soon. one of my favourite groups overall! which member would be my best friend: hyungwon, are we kidding? he's weird and loser-coded enough for him and i to get along amazingly. kihyun as well, we'd yell about all things sports probably. something i associate with them (or with a bias/any member): one of my best friends, summer 21, changkyun's baverse ep, driving home for christmas (no pun intended), midnight idol and all their other now radio shows, red and black, SHOWNU-SSI SHOWNU-SSI, their friendship with svt, that one alligator water stage

you are right, i'm very excited for shownu to come back to fully experience the chaos that is monsta x (and love. lots of love. can't wait to see them reunited) and the age order was such a surprise for me too!! was shocked to learn joo is NOT the eldest. actually rap line as maknae line was mind-boggling to me, but now it makes perfect sense.

excellent song choices :') and wonho... what a beautiful, gentle soul... his solo stuff is great, losing you (korean ver.) is one of my absolute faves 🥺

personally i think they're hilarious everywhere, but my favorite moments are shownu breaking an axe and everyone losing their marbles, also the spanish telephone game, and the idol room episode where shownu and wonho were supposed to carry the rest in sleeping bags to their respective sides as they were trying to escape 😭

wonho's compositions are sooo good i loved what he made for mx and i love a lot of his solo work too!! my favorite is flash, he really is good at those emotional tracks

those are all such good videos!! i rewatched the spanish telephone game sooo much when it came out, they're really just saying anything 😭 they've done telephone game a few times and it's always so funny! also i was thinking and another one of my favs is from monsta x on vacation when shownu runs away from the camera crew?? it is just so insanely funny like he is 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

the holidays have been fun!! i traveled home to my parent's home and spent time with family for christmas today 💕

omg such good questions!! for the 10 songs i think i'd probably go with a good variety of some of their more mellow songs and then some of their more fun songs that really hype you up and then just a few more that i feel just deserve to be there!! in no specific order: 1. because of u, 2. gravity, 3. U R, 4. oh my!, 5. fallin', 6. burning up, 7. neol hada, 8. monsta truck, 9. love killa, and 10. middle of the night. i really like all of these songs but i think they're also pretty universally loved among the fandom so they'd probably appeal to many non fans as well!!

a day with minhyuk 🥺🥺 i would love to go thrifting with minhyuk i feel like he would enjoy something like that so much and really be able to find some good hidden gems!! i would also love to do something artsy like taking a pottery class or something, i've always wanted to do that and i think he'd also really like to explore a different form of art. and we can spend the rest of the day being homebodies and chilling and watching youtube together!!

Hey! Long time no talk, sorry about that! It’s been crazy over here with the holidays and work. I hope all is well with you!!

I totally get what you mean about music. I adore music, but a lot of newer music (at least music in my country) doesn’t give me the same feeling older music does. Kpop in all its extravagance really gets me, and it makes me feel - whether it be happy sad etc. it’s fun! Which is what I think a lot of new music is missing.

Voodoo Doll by Vixx is soooo good. Love how dark it is, I really wish more groups got that dark. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Girls by Nature - the MV was way darker than I thought kpop mvs could be.

Also I’ve never been to Iceland but from the pictures I’ve seen it’s absolutely breathtaking! I don’t know much about their beliefs but elves and fairies are super cool so more power to them lol

And I think MX is pretty unique, but honestly I’d like to see them collab with Aespa - just for Jooheon lol I don’t know if you’ve seen but Jooheon’s Next Level obsession is hilarious. I don’t know how it’s sound musically but it’d be fun.

Also my bias is Wonho! Well, now that he’s gone from the group I’d say kihyun. But that changes like. Daily lol

I think a vacation with wonho would be super fun! Maybe exploring a city and going shopping. That or going out to drink with Changkyun and Jooheon.

Dear friend! So glad to hear from you, I was getting worried. Ok, not really, because I have been equally busy. Holidays have started for us and I spent half a day yesterday locked in a car with my husband and kid as we left the country to visit my mother in law and therefore my free time has decreased exponentially…

It makes me happy to hear you love music too and I agree. Like 5 years ago I would still listen to the radio, now we only do it when we travel by car. For the rest I listen to Spotify and YouTube and that way I can choose what I hear. 

Do you have playlists? If you have the time share a few of your favourite songs on your favourite playlist.

I has never seen girls by nature and I am very glad you told me of it! I really liked the song and the video is just my aesthetic!!!!

I looove fairy folklore, actually everything supernatural. I am sure it's the scorpio in me that is attracted to the dark and fantastic side of the world

I know Jooheon loves aespa and I guess a Collab with them would be nice!!! I know he'd have lots of fun with it.

We have great taste!!!! We both like Wonho!!! I'd say my second bias is honey, but the truth is that all of them are gorgeous and I love them lots. I will drool over the man who is in front of me. Lol

If I could have Wonho here… I'd take him for a Xmas trip. We'd go to the prettiest Christmas markets in Europe. I'd treat him to delicious food and warm drinks and we'd doo cheesy Xmas activities!!!!

A sub unit… that's a tough question!!! I love honey and I'M rapping, I also love that song that shownu and Minhyuk sing together and I love that Collab Hyungwon and  Hongbin from vixx got for pepsi. Lol

But if I could choose..maybe I'd like min and nunu singing again. Something soft and romantic, but with a punch, so not a ballad.
