hello i have returned with more a6 thoughts from deep within my notes app

ok so i always play as half-kit; i’m gay and i have a thing for mermaids mkay? but i feel like the relationship between Sorenn and Traveller, particularly in the case of a half-kit Traveller, is kinda...i don’t know, wasted thus far in the narrative? i know Nerissa is the sibling we were closest with but right after that comes Sorenn!! and it was his wedding that was raided!! and if you’re a kitalphan then he’s your actual brother rather than half brother and you both had to watch your mom get sick together and UGH i just feel like there’s so much potential angst there i mean it was LITERALLY HIS FUCKING WEDDING EVERYONE GOT SLAUGHTERED AT-

ANYWAY the point is. i think Sorenn is underutilized. especially in the Cal romance department. Cal literally knew your older brother, the one whose wedding was ambushed. they were friends at one point. like the angst and hurt/comfort potential there is OFF THE CHARTS!!! particularly in the case of a kit Traveller, as previously stated.

like imagine Traveller going to Calderon after a terrible dream about Sorenn and being like “You are the only person I know who...I just...I need someone who understands losing him.” and Calderon knows exactly what you are talking about and is like five seconds away from hugging you because god how long has he needed to mourn Sorenn himself??? and just hasn’t gotten to because of all the shit going down? 

so yeah i have Thoughts about Sorenn because he is canonically a nice big brother and i think that should’ve come into play more with Cal because THEY WERE LITERALLY BUDDIES??? anyway i might write some hcs based on this idea at some point but as usual do not get excited i am Bad at writing in a Timely manner

the title of the the series is north because of the Tilaari soulmark being a compass rose, and the Tilaaria calling their soulmates their ‘north’.

In your head canons, the Peg'asi children resembles more wich set of their parents? Like how Katya looks very much like Nikkole. And how is Fenris appearence or more notable features?

I love your designs for the Queens, and they basically became the mental image that I have of them, Lucrezia in particular is the one they i like the most.

Thank you! I've put a lot of thought into the queens so it makes me happy to hear people have liked what i've some up with. ^^

hehe hoho luckily this is something I've thought about extensively thanks to some convos with Ama, at least in regards to the kit pegasi- i haven't thought much on the human kids or tillari b/c they're not terribly important in regards to my traveler (except celest, we'll get to her later)

anyway lets get into it

Some features i give Fenris are the purple eyes, curly hair, and the same kind of nose Katiya has, which can be seen here (these also happen to be physical features she inherits from him)

The only human children I've given thought to are nerissa and celest: N already has a canon appareance and it is very tempting to make Celest look a lot like her for a 'fun' parallel. I don't have an appearance pegged down for her yet and im not sure if i want to give her peg'asi eyes are not, making her look a lot like lucrezia is also a fun idea

For the Tillari I make them very much resemble their mother, they don't even inherit the Peg'asi eyes (which ta'jean is pleased with) but the colors are up in the air, i think their skin would have a warmer tone. I also dont have Ta'jean completely nailed down yet, i keep going back a forth on her colors. I think I'm going to have Ven'dala look like Ta'jean's mother in regards to physical features, rather then just like her

The only thing I have solid on Tavaris is that his hair is pretty straight compared to his parent's moderate curls: a gene from either side of his family

tbh i only started thinking about the non-kit's recently and thought that ta'jean had more kids then she actually does lol (she only has 2) for some reason i thought she had twins

For the Kit's:

I'm tempted to change my mind and make Nikolle's hair curly because I really like curls

Elettra:

Photo copy of Nikolle with a different demeanor, likes to dye her hair sometimes. this is partially so it can fall in line with 'the last hour' lore stories where her hair is described as purple

(+ i like the idea she dyes her hair and gets tattoos not just because she likes it but also to needle Lucrezia cause she hates that woman)

Sorenn:

Looks more like a Peg'asi with the hair and eyes and mouth but has the same nose as Nikolle as well as a very green undertone in his hair which is most visible in the sun and, oddly enough, when it's wet (saltwater in particular. please dont ask me how that works)

Arlo:

At first I was going to make him and my traveler opposites in terms of appearance but I like it better if they have almost the same features.

Most notable difference is hair: his is mostly straight like their mother's and could be much more vibrant (not quite to katiya's level) if he liked the water. Straight up stops going in it at all when he's about 13 and by the time to coup happens it's almost completely desaturated.

I also hc his Kit features to be much less pronounced: lighter gill scars, human teeth, can't hold his breath nearly as long as his siblings.

Eventually, I'd like to draw of my interpretations of the kit kids but uhh need some energy

So firstly, hi, and thanks for dropping by! It's never a bother to answer asks, so don't you worry. Unfortunately, I don't have any links to that particular post, nor do I think it has been reblogged to the archive...

... However, in an extraordinary stroke of good luck, I do have it saved! Back when I was creating my own Traveler, I copy-pasted it into my own personal notebook for reference, and it’s been gathering dust in there since then.

So without further ado, here’s a badly-formatted copy-paste from my notes, enjoy! I’m putting it under a cut though, because it’s kinda long.

Below you’ll find a list of the royal children in order of birth, including their names, mother, gender and age, along with some select other info.

1. Nerissa (Lucrezia)(F)(32) Heir to the Throne of Goldis

2 & 3. Auberon & Ecko (M&M)(Lucrezia)(Twins)(30) Auberon had a place on the Crown Council. Arrogant, with a heavy dose of jealousy when it came to Nerissa. Ecko was a Chief Science Officer with his work largely based on Orion. Extremely intelligent, but incredibly ruthless.

4. Elettra (Nikolle)(F)(29) A Commander in Orsanna’s Guard (Gold District) Eletta was committed to her duty, and excelled in training future members of the Guard.

5. Noa (Lucrezia)(M)(26) Was close with Sorenn when they were younger, but lived in the shadow of the twins. Noa often felt unworthy compared to his older brothers, and eventually turned to substance abuse.

6. Sorenn (Nikolle)(M)(26) A high-ranking Officer in Orsanna’s Guard (Gold District) Though good-hearted, Sorenn was often very naive when it came to the world around him.

7. Tavaris (Ta'jean)(M)(24) Tavaris and his sister, Ven’dela, were very withdrawn and heavily under the influence of their mother. They made it a point to avoid their siblings. Very intelligent, though suffered with a superiority complex.

8. Celest (Lucrezia)(F)(23) The gossip Princess who thrived on Court intrigue. Beautiful, but selfish and arrogant.

9. Ven'dela (Ta'jean)(F)(22) Ven’dela was a curious individual, and may have made more of an effort to establish relationships with her siblings had her mother and brother not been hanging over her.

10. Arlo (Nikolle)(M)(22) Very much a playboy who liked to cause mischief around the Palace. Rude, and selfish, and was often at odds with Celest. However when the two of them teamed up, chaos reigned.

11. Traveler (21-22)

So uh, Andromeda Six is coming out with a new chapter. So in honor of that, here's a traumatizing dream sequence of my Tilaarin Traveler, Cassandra Peg'asi. Because God forbid I do anything that isn't just angst central.

Cassie’s heels clicked quietly against the polished stone floors as she wandered through the winding halls of the palace, the heavy skirts of her gown swishing around her. Once bustling halls were empty, leaving her completely alone from what she could tell. And despite her knowledge of every hallway, every room, every passage of the opulent palace, she couldn’t tell where she was. Or where she was heading. For once, the young princess was lost in her home, with no idea of where to go next. But she knew somehow that it was a special occasion. Or at least assumed, from the heavy gown of sparkling gold silk with black embroidery and the sparkling tiara balanced atop her curls. Finery that she only wore when operating in her official role as Princess. Lost in thought, she continued walking through the winding halls, lifting her skirt to keep from tripping on it as she moved faster. 

In the corner of her eye, she could see black wisps that almost looked like people. But whenever she turned to look, there was nothing there. And as she kept walking, she began to hear whispers, sounding like they were far away at first, but growing louder and louder with each step. 

“Cassandra…”

“Cassandra, where were you?” 

“Did you just leave us to die?” 

“This was all your fault. If you’d never shown him those passages…”

“How could you be so selfish? Why didn’t you stay?” 

“Why didn’t you die with the rest of us?” 

“Of course you’d leave us all to die. You’re the most useless out of all of us.”

“Typical Cassandra. Shirking her duty for frivolous things.”

The insidious whispers pounding in her mind were the voices of her siblings. Nerissa. Auberon. Ecko. Elettra. Noa. Sorenn. Tavaris. Celest. Ven’dela. Arlo. Their rasping voices overlapping and growing louder, until the overwhelming cacophony of voices drowned out even the sound of her now running footsteps. And then a voice began to scream. A voice, she realized belatedly, was hers. Filled with pain, heartbreak, sorrow, and despair. A heart-wrenching sound that brought tears to her eyes, even as she reached up to clutch at her ears, bowing over as she tried to block it all out. Tried to keep out the blaming voices and the screaming. 

Suddenly, the voices and the screaming stopped, and all was silent. Slowly, Cassie dropped her hands and began to straighten up, looking around in surprise as she found herself in the middle of the throne room. Unlike the rest of the palace, the throne room was bustling with servants. But as she looked closer, none of them had faces. With black mist covering up where their faces should have been. Gripping her skirts tightly, Cassie felt herself walk towards the thrones where her father and his wives usually sat, guided by some urge that she couldn’t describe or resist. 

As she came closer to the throne, the crowd of servants suddenly parted, allowing her to see the opulent throne where her father, and generations of her grandfathers had sat ever since the Peg’asi took the throne. But the central throne was bare, with her father nowhere to be seen. In fact, the only person sitting there was the Stellar Queen, Ta’jean. Her mother. 

Smiling gently at her daughter, the stern queen held out her hand to her. A rare show of affection to her youngest child, who had always caused her so much trouble. Dropping her skirts, Cassie reached out and took her mother’s hand, clasping it tightly. “Mother…” she whispered, forming tears starting to sting her eyes. “Mama… I miss you so much,” she whispered, her voice trembling as she fought to keep from crying. Her smile unchanging, Ta’jean reached out with her other hand and began to caress Cassie’s cheek, brushing away the welling tears. However, she said not a word, just kept staring at her with a blank, glassy look in her eyes. 

And it was then that Cassie noticed the deep red spreading across the delicate pastel yellow of Ta’jean’s gown, staining the silk, something that would have usually drawn the queen’s ire. But she didn’t react to it, just kept smiling at Cassie. Dropping her hand, Cassie immediately leapt forward and pressed her hands against the open wound, bared by a tear in her dress, showing the sword wound piercing her chest. “No! Mother!” Cassie screamed, pressing her hands, already slick with blood against the wound, tears coursing down her cheeks. “No! Please, stay with me Mother! Don’t leave!” She knew that it was useless. That her mother was already gone. Gone and dead, and she was all alone. The last Peg’asi. But even if this wasn’t real, it didn’t mean that she couldn’t try to save her mother. Maybe she could at least change what happened in her dreams.

Ta’jean reached out again and touched Cassie’s cheek, her soiled hand leaving her mother’s blood smeared across her luminescent blue skin. And as she touched her, the servants melted away. All around her, she could see her family lying dead. Strewn about like puppets whose strings had been cut, with puddles of deep crimson staining the polished marble beneath them. And all Cassie could do was stare, her hands slipping away from her mother’s chest. “You should have died with us, Cassandra. You didn’t deserve to be the one to live. Not when it’s when your fault that we died.” As the Stellar Queen spoke, blood spilled from her lips, staining her sky blue skin  and polished white teeth. 

Cassie stared in horror, and she began to scream, scream as she had never before. Scream for her fallen siblings, for her mother, for her father and his poor wives. For everything that had happened. And because in her heart, she knew her mother was right. 

Still screaming, Cassie awoke with a start, tears coursing down her cheeks as she sat upright in her bed. The scream died in her throat as she looked around her room wildly, her chest heaving as she fought to catch her breath. Burying her face in her hands, all she could do was cry. Cry and mourn her family. And wish that she had died alongside them so she wouldn’t have to feel that pain. That isolating loneliness. The despair and loss.

What was Katya childhood like before and after her mother got sick? Was she closer or had a somewhat more friendly relationship with her siblings? Is there any event that really affected and was responsible for turning her the person that she is/was? What was her dreams and hobbies when she was a little girl?

Is it okay to send you asks about your ocs? I find Katya a really cool and interesting (and also really pretty) oc and would like to know more about her.

Onwards:

Nikolle's health taking the turn it did was a big turning point for Katiya's childhood. The Peg'asi household is pretty toxic and Nikolle was a significant buffer for her children, particularly the twins.

Nikolle spent a lot of time in the gardens and katiya liked nothing more then to join her. Usually Arlo would be there as well and they would compete for their mother's attention (unnecessary really) as siblings can tend to. Once in a blue moon Ta'jean and Ven'dela would join them. Elettra and Sorenn would join as often as they could, Sorenn would drag Noa along, and i do think Nerissa would be there sometimes as well but the other peg'asi children were told not to associate with anyone who wasn't their full-blooded siblings so it wasn't often others would join them (not for Nikolle's lack of trying, she was kind to all of them).

Katiya really looked up to her older sister and would demand to get picked up often, Elettra would relent eventually and sometimes throw her into a pool. She and Sorenn have a similar vibe so they got along well... come to think of it she would demand to get picked up by Sorenn too. While she and Arlo were competitive and would push each other into things often, they were close and I genuinely believe they would be much closer as adults if Nikolle had been present. Rather then the, frankly, shitty relationship they ended up having.

Considering the way the royal household is, Katiya had a pretty happy childhood and saw her siblings often, it started going downhill when she was about 12/13

I hc that Nikolle takes a sharp turn after Kitaphla was destroyed (~10 years pre-game), the trauma triggers her early-onset dementia and it cascades pretty quickly: within a few years she's completely non-verbal and doesn't leave her rooms anymore. This combined with Elettra leaving the palace to be part of the guard in earnest and Sorenn starting his training and then leaving, and Arlo being pretty heavily influenced by the other Peg'asi and distancing himself to not be perceived as the youngest; Katiya suddenly was very alone. I'd say this is the biggest turning point for her.

Nerissa was there, yes, but she was one person amongst a household that saw her as lesser or an other. Elettra, Sorenn, and Ven'dela were exceptions but either weren't around (Elettra, Sorenn) or actively discouraged from associating with others (Ven'dela)

Her dreams aren't much different now then they were when she was a child: music remains one of her passions (she would have loved to be a singer), she enjoys the arts in general, and she wants to see everything the universe has to offer. She never wanted to be a queen or powerful, even when she was a child. She was (and is) adventurous and liked getting places she wasn't supposed to be

(you know those little performances kids will put on for adults? she did that, 100%. Nikolle would be delighted but Arlo would call her stupid (as siblings are wont to do) and the two of them would fight.)
