in light of a four day ceasefire in Gaza being agreed upon, i am once again asking you all not to lose sight of the big picture. Biden and the Israeli Government are trying to frame this as a major democratic victory and as a favor respectively. they have no intention of a total ceasefire. they have no intention of stopping their genocide. remember - a ceasefire is the very first step. it’s not even the bare minimum.

the absolute bare minimum in this situation is 1) a complete ceasefire and immediate humanitarian aid in Gaza, 2) complete halt of all military foreign aid to the Israeli government, 3) the Israeli government being prosecuted for its war crimes in the International Criminal Court, and 4) land back and reparations for the Palestinian people. free Palestine means free Palestine, not just temporarily stop carpet bombing Palestine.

a temporary ceasefire is something, but it’s not even close to the end goal. we cannot let up pressure when things seem to be looking up. keep protesting, boycotting, spreading awareness, contacting politicians, etcetera. keep your eyes on Gaza. free Palestine.

I went to a pro-Palestine protest and I later saw that one of the local newspapers had written about it calling it a “pro-Hamas” rally. I left a lengthy comment on the article telling off the author for journalistic malpractice because not one of speakers at the rally ever said that they supported Hamas. He also conveniently omitted the fact that Jewish Voice for Peace was a major organizer of the event to try and make it seem like every single person at the rally was a Muslim. A few days later, the article got taken down. Keep calling out the mainstream media on their hypocrisy and dishonesty - your advocacy DOES make a difference!

AND THE WORLD IS STAYING SILENT. wanna know why? because palestinians are not white. the world would be up in flames. hell, the media was OUTRAGED at the alleged news of "40 beheaded babies" when there was literally no evidence of it (there is still none, mind you). there are hundreds of thousands of videos and photos from palestinian journalists that are posted everyday documenting the war crimes committed against them. and yet apparently it's all fake. hypocrisy at its best.

The year 2023 has been regarded the deadliest year for Palestinians since the 1948 war (also knows as the Nakba, which means Catastrophe in Arabic).

During the Nakba war about 250 Palestinian villages faced the fate of being demolished (some to the point of not existing on the map anymore) and their residents were forcibly displaced.

Today in Gaza, the numbers of the martyred and the injured are increasing every single day and yet the whole wide world is watching from afar, as if the Palestinian life is cheap or not worthy of speaking out for…

Don’t repeat the mistake made in 1948, because the damage done by the Nakba will never be forgotten and Palestine will never recover from it, but today it’s 2024 and you have a voice and you can use it to change something, and you have the ability to make your governments not repeat that same mistake once again 76 years later.

So use that voice and maximize your abilities, talents and the resources that you have to let the whole entire world know about what is happening in order for the whole world to rise and revolt against the ongoing Nakba against not only Palestinians, but also every oppressed people in the world that faces a horrible fate due to colonialism and white supremacy.
