I was listening to So Much (For) Stardust and accidentally had too many thoughts in one sitting so we have another AU concept. I don't have a solid name yet so I've just been calling Team Supernova AU.
Long story short:
Ghetsis freezes over Unova's major cities, taking most survivors hostage to join Team Plasma, and leaving several thousands dead from the frost
Emmet, Elesa, and others try fending off the Plasma Frigate in Nimbasa but ultimately lose with injuries (Emmet got frozen on his right side)
Emmet takes as many survivors as he can into the tunnels, later joining other groups to his and forming Team Supernova in resistance to Team Plasma
Ingo went missing about a year prior to all of this, so Emmet has already spent a lot of time alone. The only pokemon he has left is Ingo's Chandelure, as the rest did not survive the invasion. He's generally very cold and shut off emotionally as a result, and doesn't really express himself like he used to.
I'll drop more details later, right now the AU in early concept stages so it's essentially a bundle of "what would this be like" and "what if this happened" and "this could be cool". If I have time I'll drop some of the other uniform designs later. Anyways have a good night, see ya.

oda's brain is so deeply fascinating to me. the character of trafalgar law's powers and character design align so perfectly with his writing. the heart motifs, the need for control in a world that has been overpowered by grief, his parents were doctors and the things they taught him combined with rosinante's love for him are the two things that gave him the op-op fruit AND made it possible for him to keep himself alive with it. the fact that he is a healer first and foremost and made his body into a sacrificial altar for everyone he's lost to at least try to ease some of the absolutely overhwhelming grief and survivor's guilt until he can finish his suicide mission. it all coalesces into one of simply the best characters i've ever seen written in media in general, let alone a 27 year long shonen manga.
and then you have x. drake, whose power is he turns into a dinosaur and get this. he has a silly hat. that's it.

In Your Arms Chapter 9: Heat
(old chapter, i just love this part)
When he’d first laid eyes on her it hadn't been her height that he noticed, but the immense quality of her spirit. From his desk, he and Nihlus had watched her approach. She wore black military-style boots, but shorter, just to the ankle. Black unbuttoned jacket, black pants, and a light blue shirt neatly tucked in but also defiantly loose. Her hair, shorter then, framed her face, brushing her cheeks as she turned to take in the room, her desk, him, with green, sharp eyes flicking from one place to the next. She was so warm, soft but searing. He’d immediately felt lulled, but also on edge, like something important was about to happen, and he better be ready for it.
How do you tell someone they came into your life like a supernova, though, tipping an equilibrium, setting everything ablaze, without admitting that you’d been mesmerized by them ever since?
Measure it back, of course. “I thought you looked strong, and smart,” he said, voice steady but still too warm. “And when you told Nihlus to get his ass off your desk, and he actually listened to you, I thought I was luckier than all the other detectives, so I better hold on to you. Damned glad that I did.”
Her smile didn’t fade, but something happened, some shift in her demeanor that was so subtle, and so sudden, that he wasn’t sure if his words were the cause, or something else. The scattered starry warmth in her eyes gathered into sparkling clusters.
Suddenly she felt too close, too close for him to keep her in a compartment where his feelings didn’t overtake the space between them.
His chuckle was meant to wash away the awkward silence, but then he felt pulled into her so close and so tight, that the birds, the coffee shop, and all the quick-footed people shifting down the sidewalk blurred. It didn’t feel like he was sinking, or lifting, but spinning. The galaxy spun and all he felt was heavy and solid and all he saw was her.
“Not going to share your actual first impression of me?” he asked, trying to settle despite the whirling.
She was going to say something funny, thankfully, he could tell in the way she kept her face straight but hunched her shoulders an inch. Her hand rustled her hair.
“My first thought was that they would’ve recruited more people if they'd sent you to Earth to stand next to the asari C-Sec rep.”
“The unhinged, uptight turian? Pardon my pessimism, but I’m doubting your sincerity.”
She smirked. “Notice that I said stand there , not open your mouth . You’re pretty, but…”
A laugh pulled out of him, his mandibles fanning out wide.
When they stopped chuckling she said, “I was terrified, honestly. But you kept your talons filed, and no one else did. And you lifted me up on crates when other humans were told to focus on evidence easier to get to. And you were funny. And you liked my cat, and you were so sweet to Gran and Papa when they wanted to get to know you. Didn’t take long to see that I got lucky, too.”
As the last note left her, everything slowed, but the heavy feeling persisted. How could she not know how easy it had been, being her partner? It should have felt like a struggle, like it did for everyone else, but it never felt that way to him.
“Ed and Alice are wonderful,” he said. “ My family…”
“Is perfect.”
“Forced you to come over for dinner once a month.”
“It was nice enjoying a meal with a family. It was something to look forward to… Still is.”
They stopped talking then, only smiled with the chickadees over their heads hmming to each other. Just as Garrus thought it would take a cataclysm to pry their gazes apart the chickadees burst from their perch into the bright sun, Jane’s eyes sank down to her omni-tool, and he was left staring at her, pulling in a quick breath.
“Shit, we’re late,” she said.
He stood. “Yeah.”
Everything stilled, finally. The sky-bound birds with flickering wings, the packed coffee shop, the rushing people, all settled, tethered by rigid rope to solid ground.
His mind focused on maps, streets, traffic lights and travel times from point A to point B. A car shooting thruster patterns into free-growing grass, and a watch lying haphazardly on a wet concrete ledge.
They had a case to solve with, so far, no leads.

Can’t write for Hypernova because he’s not mine, but Infero will be incredibly relaxed and casual. He clearly trusts the massive Killcode, and will do his best to convince Blue Moon that dad not a threat.
Blue Moon will be confused at infero's casual nature. This thing is huge, a kill code, and a Lord! All of those things usually lead to bad. Blue Moon will be hiding behind infero for any encounter. Perhaps growing smaller if she is in the nanite body they gave her.
@snowe-zolynn-rogers you can supply the other's reaction.

Refuting a certain person's arguments against the ending of It's a Wonderful Life:
"Potter goes unpunished". Yes. That's life. Bad people get away with things. No good fairy tale does that, but this isn't a fairy tale. The message is stronger and more directly applicable to our world because it shows that good is worthwhile even if bad doesn't get punished in this world.
"Embezzlement charges don't just go away because the cop is smiling." They do when the cop tears up the warrant in front of the guy he's supposed to be arresting. The guy's supposed to be arrested for being $8000 short--good news, he's got $8000! How's any judge supposed to prove it's not the $8000? Especially when the $8000 comes from the community whose money is in the Building and Loan?
I mean, really, look at the case. George is $8000 short. He claims he lost it. Potter's like, "No one will believe you didn't embezzle it. I'm calling the cops." The cops show up and literally the entire community pours through the doors eager to support the best man they know. How do you get a better character reference than that? Meanwhile, the guy making the accusation against George is his main business rival who's been trying to destroy him for years. Of course they'll believe George when he says he didn't embezzle the money.
Yes, Potter will keep making trouble but it doesn't matter because George has a whole community behind him!
The ending relies on the goodness of the people of Bedford Falls because they're good people, and shame on you for implying otherwise.

I feel like we as a society don’t talk enough about Kon and how he’s so much like Clark in of himself, and how that should rightfully give him a bit of a crisis. There should be more more moments where he looks at Clark and goes “Just like you. Am I just like you?”
SO true. where's the in-universe moment when kon realizes that kon-el is just an anagram of clone but with a k!!!
they genuinely are very similar though. the parallels are SO there. in a way kon's admiration of clark and desire to emulate him both stems from and feeds back into this tbh, like yeah buddy you sure do wanna be superman one day don't you. don't you?
that deep-seated kindness and desire to help everyone. that's the Biggest one i think. it runs so deeply through the core of both of their characters. clark is much more mellow than Kon at first, bc early kon is young and brash and hotheaded and SO full of a zest for life. but post-death kon really mellows out, too. ofc there's always things to be said about writers making him more like clark in the post geoff era, but it does still feel like a compelling narrative arc.
on the one hand it def would i think give him a bit of a crisis, especially later on in life, to think that he's had so much of his own life and experiences and yet he's still so much like clark - does his own individuality not matter? - but it's something so clearly tied to his own expectations of himself bc everyone else can plainly see both the similarities AND all the differences.
on the other hand, i so deeply also would love a story in which kon's universal kindness and refusal to accept cruelty or wrongdoing ends up inspiring people the same exact way clark does. and kon himself doesn't even see it. but we do.

well now that ao3 is down for maintenance how would all of you like a snippet of Supernova?
This takes place around chapter 50 (?). At this point in the story, Dora has learned that Ted is her father and she is meeting his mother for the first time. Elsie Tonks, Ted's mother, is beyond thrilled to be meeting her granddaughter. Snippet under the cut! Enjoy :)
“Here she is! My granddaughter!”
A silver-haired woman with big spectacles, a flowery dress, and a crisp apron came out of the back room and engulfed Dora in a bone-crushing hug.
“Oh, how grand it is to have a grandchild!” she said, standing back after a moment and taking Dora’s cheeks in her hands. “Look at you! What a beautiful young woman you are! To think I’ve lost all these years with you—but we’ll make up for lost time in no time, won’t we, dear?”
“O-okay,” Dora stammered, taken aback by the Muggle woman’s enthusiasm, assuming she had to be Ted’s mother, Elsie.
“Mum, take it easy—”
“No, you take it easy, Edward Tonks! This is my one and only granddaughter! You don’t get to meet your grandbaby for the first time every day, you know!” Elsie looked Dora up and down and tsked in a way that reminded her of her mother. “You’re looking peaky. Come with me, I’ll give you something to eat.”
“I’m not hung—”
“Just go,” Ted said quietly. “She doesn’t like to hear ‘no.’” He gently patted her shoulder and guided her through the doorway on the other side of the narrow staircase. There Dora found a round table with three mismatched chairs, and just beyond it, a narrow kitchen with pink cupboards and black-and-white flooring.
“I’ll be right there, dears!” Elsie called. “Sit down and make yourselves comfortable!”
Dora sat in an oversized yellow chair. She couldn’t settle her eyes on anything in particular; a vase of wildflowers sat in the middle of the table, its bright blooms drooping over the edge of the vase. Countless objects were hung on the walls around her. Some were paintings, others photographs, and yet others were made of cloth. Embroidered pictures of animals, houses, and flowers filled the crevices between pictures and paintings, and behind them the wall was papered with something neon. Dora wasn’t sure if it was because of how crammed it was, but Elsie’s house looked even smaller than Ted and Millie’s.
“Baked them just this morning!”
Elsie interrupted Dora’s activity and put a plate of chocolatey biscuits in front of her and Ted. She bustled back to the kitchen and returned with mugs and a kettle. Ted flicked his wand at one of the cupboards and a tin of teabags came zooming out. It landed just as Elsie turned around to look for it.
“Edward,” she said sternly. “Warn your mother before you go on with your tricks.” She turned to Dora with a toothy grin. “Sweetheart, don’t let him be too hard on you. He was just terrible about magic during his summers. Almost got kicked out of Hogwarts, he did!”
“It was one time,” Ted said, rolling his eyes. “One warning. That hardly counts as expulsion.”
Elsie put her hands on her hips but sat down in a cobalt blue chair. Instead of turning to Ted to finish her conversation with him, the woman turned to Dora.
“Eat, sweetheart,” she said, pushing the plate of biscuits at Dora. “We all know Millie’s a decent cook but she likes experimenting with those American concoctions.” Elsie pressed her lips together with a slight frown. “What you need is meat and potatoes, the kind of food that’ll stick to your ribs, not that namby-pamby gelatin loaf that’s all the rage these days.”
Dora peered over the wildflowers at Ted, her eyes wide and begging to take her away. She could sew her own Muggle clothes for all she cared. Spending one more minute with the overbearing woman would kill her, and she wasn’t convinced that there wasn’t something afoot with the chocolatey biscuits in front of her. But, to her dismay, Ted didn’t understand the message (her mother would have) and instead he smiled encouragingly and gave her two thumbs-up.
“Go on, baby, have a biscuit,” Elsie repeated. “My Ted told me about how you and your mother grew up. You can eat as much as you like. There are no hidden messages, no ulterior motives.”
The walls felt like they were closing in on Dora, but she took a biscuit from the top of the pile to placate the Tonkses. She took a small bite, surprised by the still-gooey chocolate within. The unexpected mmm that flowed from her lips earned her an even brighter grin from Elsie.

{Am I…a God? Neat!}
-Chapter Six: The City of Contracts and a Primordial Promise-
The old god was softly humming while keeping a watchful eye on their son and his companion as the two bickered back and forth about food. (Y/n) enjoyed the gentle breeze that blew as they reached Mingyun Village. They sighed softly feeling the presence of lost souls nearby, not to mention the various Hilichurls that inhabited the area. Luckly, they stayed mostly out of the way or at the very least were remaining docile. There was two samachurls, one dendro the other hydro, that seemed to be trying to subtly follow the trio.
The two creatures had been following the group since they crossed the border into Liyue. 'How odd, I haven't even interacted with the residents of this nation, yet they have the same reactions as those of Dragonspine...almost as if they know of me...' At the thought they chuckled. 'It seems my dearest Dorian is working fast to inform the creatures of Teyvat of my arrival...I guess I should check on how he's settling in soon...though not until I assure Aethereal safe arrival in Liyue Harbor.'
Noticing the two ahead stopping in the middle of the abandoned village (Y/n) took a second to scan the area. Remembering that the two samachurls weren't the only thing following them their eyes narrowed making contact with a Fatui Pyro Agent that was attempting to cloak himself with the shadows. "Starlight we should keep moving..." At their voice the blonde and his white-haired companion stopped conversing about Liyue and the village turning their attention to the older entity.
"I'm sure your tired but there is an Inn nearby...If we keep up the pace, we can arrive by Sunset...I'll even slow down time a smidge to ensure we don't have to travel at night..." They said a smile on their face as they waved a hand to the sky, sure enough the fast-moving sun seemed to slow down as did the passing clouds. Paimon could only stare in awe as she witnessed another display of power from the creator.
Her navy-blue eyes sparkled brightly as she gasped softly before she zipped directly in front of the primordial god waving her arms and screaming excitedly. "Woooah!! You can control time too!! Paimon wishes Paimon could do something cool like that!!" All the floating child got in response was a soft smile followed by a huff and headpat.
"Some day when you realize your potential is more than you can eat you will be capable of much so more." The white-haired child could only look on in confusion as she was softly grabbed and held like a toddler before resuming their humming and continuing to walk. As they approached the broken bridge the creator adjusted a sleeping Paimon on their hip as they began to walk. The bridge was quick to repair itself with every step. Aether followed behind silently observing their parent casually displaying power far beyond mortal comprehension.
It reminded him that his, and likely his sister's, powers were still sealed off as a result of their loss in the fight against the Unknown God. But if Cosmi wasn't too concerned about it he would keep his mouth shut and trust their judgement for now. He gave a soft sigh as they crossed the now intact bridge. The passed by some small ruins and (Y/n) seemed to stop for a moment as if sensing something nearby.
Sure enough, they sighed in mild disappointment before continuing to walk. "What was that about Cosmi?" Aether asked softly as to not wake Paimon. The old god glanced at him for a second, taking a moment before responding," I sensed the residue of a long dead god in those ruins...Once I get you two settled into the inn for the night, I will be investigating it for a bit...and before you as no Starlight you cannot come. This is a bit too dangerous a situation for you to handle just yet."
The blonde couldn't help the pout that took over his face upon hearing he once again couldn't accompany them on one of their excursions and investigations. But ultimately, he understood, they were far older than he and understood each of their worlds intricately. It was safer for them to handle any rising problems than for him to get unnecessarily involved and get hurt. He had much to learn before he could ever hope to take over a position at their side.
The trio reached the inn just as (Y/n) had said, sunset. The fading light provided an excellent view of the Wangshu Inn and the beautiful tree it was attached to. Noticing the broken stairs (Y/n)'s face took on a sharp scrunched up look as they questioned why there were so many unrepaired structures in the surrounding area. 'No matter I'll just fix it like before...' As Paimon and Aether stopped to converse with the locals the old god moved to the stairs.
Like with the bridge as it repaired with each step on one of the fractured parts. They could hear the murmurs and gasps of the onlookers both below and above. Reaching the top of the stairs they were greeted by the innkeeper Huai'an and his wife the boss of the inn, Verr Goldet. The two were throwing questions after question before (Y/n) just smiled holding up a hand to gesture it was no problem. At this point Aether and Paimon had caught up using the elevator.
The trio got a room as the sun set completely the moon beginning to rise high into the sky. Paimon had since passed out on the left side of the bed in the room. Aether was refusing to go to sleep like a stubborn child until (Y/n) returned from their excursion. To which they sighed knowingly before kissing his forehead and leaving. Though they made sure to have a chat with Verr Goldet about informing Ningguang of their intended arrival in Liyue Harbor. They then dissipated into the shadows of the night.
Headed towards the Guili Assembly ruins the old god took a moment to decide a course of action this arc. "Should I fully interfere before everything begins or should I let it play out and ruin the fun in the end? What do you think Guizhong..?"

Neopronouns in Action #078: Guardian Star
Neopronouns: kal/vir/vil/(val)/kalixir which follow mixed rules: he/him/his/hers/himself
Replace he with kal
Replace him with vir
Replace his with vil
Replace hers with val
Replace himself with kalixir
EX:
"She is going to adopt a new puppy soon, as soon as she gets a fence set up around her yard so the puppy can go outside without her having to walk it. Her uncle is going to help set up the fence, since he has a set of power tools he's letting her use, since she lost hers. She's going to buy toys and train the puppy herself."
Becomes:
"Kal is going to adopt a new puppy soon, as soon as kal gets a fence set up around vil yard so the puppy can go outside without vir having to walk it. Vil uncle is going to help set up the fence, since he has a set of power tools he's letting vir use, since kal lost val. Kal's going to buy toys and train the puppy kalixir."
_______
The guardian star looked down on the castle of vil charge’s enemy, waiting anxiously for the princess to reemerge. Kal always hated it when she went inside wards kal was forbidden to look past. There was no way of knowing what was happening to her, and with this castle, none of vil linemates could see through the ward either.
The lord of this castle wanted to blot all the stars out of the sky forever, and had ensured that his plots were kept out of their awareness, almost purely out of spite.
Even if they’d known what he was planning, they wouldn’t have been able to stop him. They were powerless to communicate with their charges, not until another seer was born, and that wouldn’t be for another thousand years yet.
All Strelitz could do was wait, and hope, and keep watch on the dark fields and dour stone walls, the moat a black line speckled with lapping reflections.
It had been over two hours since Stretliz’s charge had snuck into the castle, and even how she did it, kal didn’t know. Through some form of magic that, like the castle itself, the guardian stars could not understand or witness.
Kal wished the princess knew how much kal wanted to know she was safe. She hadn’t used obscure magic to hide herself from vir, but it almost felt that way.
Kal didn’t know how long kal waited in tense anxiety before something finally happened. The servant’s door quietly slipped open, letting a draft of warm candlelight peirce the darkness for a few scant moments, and a familiar green cloak that made Strelitz’s heart leap with joy, swept out and shut the door again just as quickly. She was alive! She was escaping!
Kal watched, hope burning, as the princess slowly, casually began to walk down the well-trodden path that the servants of the castle took to and from the local farm. Once she got past the farm and into the woods, kal knew, she would be able to hide herself and get back to the resistance camp safely. She only had to get past the farm.
For a few long minutes, it seemed that she would escape safely, with no one the wiser of her being there.
But then there came a sudden scuffle along one of the ramparts of the castle, where the wards didn’t block Stretlitz’s sight of those on the roof, and kal realized with horror that vil charge had been discovered as a spy. Orders were being thrown from voice to ear, demanding the gunners take aim.
There was nothing kal could do to stop them, and no way for vir to warn vil charge. She was still walking calmly down the path like she belonged on it, like she had no idea anything was wrong.
The first shot was fired. What kind of weapon it was, Strelitz couldn’t guess. It wasn’t any kind kal had ever seen before. The projectile was dark, reflecting no light, and moving too fast for kal to make heads or tails of. Aimed right where vil charge would be by the time it hit her, with perfect accuracy.
Strelitz could only watch, desperately praying to the center that she would realize the danger in time to protect herself. All of vil linemates felt vil anxiety and shared it, sending out their own prayers for vil charge’s protection.
The center must have listened, because right when kal was about to give up hope, prepared to see vil charge cut down before she could even reach adulthood-- something warned her of the danger she was in, and within a heartbeat she had spun, throwing the green cloak aside so she could unfold her metal wings and use them to deflect the projectile harmlessly into the ground as though she’d done this a thousand times, though Strelitz knew with a pounding heart that the success of the sudden, desperate maneuver had been sheer dumb luck.
But another one was already heading towards her, and another behind that. Kal knew the princess wouldn’t be able to deflect another hit without shattering her wing. Her only hope left was to fly.
Fortunately, she came to the same conclusion almost at the same instance Strelitz did, because she dove to the side, then threw herself into the air, her blue-green metal wings flashing in the starlight as she strove for height, then just as quickly sped off towards the cover of the trees as the baffled gunners found themselves suddenly faced with a target that could go up rather than just side to side or forward or backward.
It took those on the castle roof too long to even stop to think about adjusting the height of the heavy guns, and by the time the lead began swearing in frustration and amazement at the failure, the princess, Stretlitz’ beloved charge, was safely hidden from them among the trees, but where Strelitz’s light could still find her.
Kal sighed with relief, and watched over her as she flew home.
