So yesterday I did a lot of firsts!

I wore my first cosplay ever! (Practice makes perfect and I can't wait for my next one)

I made a lot of kids happy and had a lot of people ask for my picture! Super cool. (I normally hate having my picture taken but they were all so excited!)

I spoke up at a panel! (Defending my son Mikey against the haters 😂)

Can't wait for day two today, one more cosplay to wear and a lot of actors I get to meet 👀.

Regret not having my husband take a picture with all the people who asked too, their cosplays were just as cool.

I've shared these on my Instagram, but I also wanna share them here b/c I'm pretty proud of my plushies and I spent a lot of time on them at the end of last year! More pictures n words below the cut!!!

This was actually quite a fun plushie to work on, even if the embroidery was a little more challenging! Sylveon doesn't have a lot of hard pieces but there's more to embroider than expected so it took time! And once again, attaching the head to the body is always a little tricky, and thus, the head tilt LOL

I didn't quite have the similar fleece for the darker blue but overall it came out great! My mom actually really liked this out of all that I made lol but I promised I'll make her a vaporeon later. My friend thought I initially bought it though, so I think that means I did a pretty good job if I do say so myself!

This pattern btw is 100% free on cholyknight's website!!!! A part of me kind wants to make a whole set of eeveelutions and then cosplay a pokemon breeder LOL! My parents n cousins said I could sell them but idk; I know cholyknight allows you to do that, but this is a hobby if anything. Plus, idk how to price anyway xD

hey so remember that halloween costume poll i made a little while back

IM MAKIN MY OWN SYLVEON OUTFIT BECAUSE I CAN!!!! ALSO MY MOM KNOWS HOW TO SEW AND WILL HELP ME :3

ill be blogging the process of creating it so follow the #sylveon's ability pixellate tag to see it if you wanna!! im making it over fall break so i have a total of about 2 weeks to finish it

here's my initial sketch!!

tis very messy i know. but i still would like to talk about it

i wanted it to be very magical girl-esque and super duper cutesy. the design has some of the more typical magical girl tropes like the pleated skirt and magic wand!! this sketch was also done vv quickly and focuses mostly on shapes and silhouette instead of detail :>

as for the actual construction of the costume, im gonna keep it simple since this is the first costume im actually making. its mostly going to be made with premade patterns that have been altered to fit my needs!! im using a semi-box pleated circle skirt with horsehair braid to keep it stiff on the edges, a dickey collar i already have, a halter top pattern i plan to modify, and some other accessories im going to make with eva foam. also after i made this sketch, my mom found a nice underbust corset pattern and we plan to make that too!!

overall im very excited to see how this all plays out. if there are any other more experienced cosplayers out there who want to give any advice, please do!! any advice at all would be highly appreciated <3
