This chapter triggered some PTSD for me.

You know, when Garp jumped to protect Koby, it reminded me a lot of Ace who jumped to protect Luffy.

And of course, both Garp and Ace have to be hurt at the exact same point.

Oda really didn't have to do it again, right? Oda really didn't need to hurt another member of Luffy's family, right?

But, here we go again. It provoked an instant fear. I fear Garp could die.

He could but I'm praying he won't. We need to hear his point of view of the story.

We need to know all the secrets he knows from the Celestial Dragons.

We also need him to punch one of them at the Final War. He also needs to land a punch on Akainu's face. At least once.

No, I'm not saying Garp will be the one to destroy Akainu but he must be allowed to make him feel some pain.

I'm hoping Garp will survive this.

My dil called me this weekend. She had some things to say, she cried, I think she felt better at the end. I however, now feel like hot angry garbage. My dil has been angry with me for 14 months over allowing my 11 & 10 y.o. grandsons to buy a huge sucker when we went to the beach. My dil is suuuper crunchy granola and polices everything my grandkids eat (they eat sauerkraut with eggs for breakfast, ya know-probiotics). On the long drive to take my grandsons home I told them to expect their mom to not let them keep what was left of their candy so maybe they could hide it in their suitcase and just not tell mom about it so they could eat it. Well my 11 y.o. grandson has been so heavily indoctrinated that once they got home he cried and told his mom he had candy (gasp! contraband!!) and that grandma told me to lie and not tell I had it. 😑

I was trying to be the cool grandma, the kind who has a little innocent secret with you- like my grama mary had with me, letting me watch tv shows my parents didn't, swearing around me and then saying "don't tell your mother I said that" then cackle-laughing. But my grandson broke down under the weight of guilt he felt and now my dil says she questions my morals and can't trust me. Over a sucker. I will just leave that there and back away...
