I got my collector’s edition The Black Dog CD and here are the photo cards it came with and some photos in the lyric booklet that I have not seen HQ versions of online yet.
I wish there was a high quality digital version of the last photo card. I haven’t seen it anywhere online so far.
Nevertheless, the difficulties of the season had enabled some companies to thrive. One of these was Lockwood & Co., the smallest psychic detection ageny in London. Up until the beginning of the winter, I'd worked for them. It had just been me; Anthony Lockwood, who ran the show; and George Cubbins, who researched stuff. We'd lived in a house in Portland Row, Marylebone. Oh, there'd been another employee as well. Her name was Holly Munro; she was new, a kind of assistant to the rest of us. She sort of counted, too, I guess, but it was George and Lockwood who had meant the most to me. Meant so much, in fact, that in the end I'd been forced to turn my back on them, and go a different way.
Sirius "How you don't miss me, in The Black Dog. When someone plays The Starting Line and you jump up, but she's too young to know this song, that was intertwined in the magic fabric of our dreaming" Black
My (delusional) analysis of The Black Dog as a marauders fan;
This is of course Remus to Sirius nearing the end of the war. After the Mckinnons died and Sirius suspected Remus of being the spy for the death eaters.
We know that Sirius would turn into Padfoot to escape things as he did in Azkaban. The bar could be symbolism for his transformation into Padfoot -- his mind becoming impaired similar to if he had drank.
Remus assuming that Sirius was fine without him, assuming that Sirius didn't miss him through his time in Azkaban. Remus thought Sirius was the spy and so he thought he had been used and wasn't truly loved, he thought Sirius didn't miss him.
I believe this is Remus talking to himself in reference to Grant (or since it says she it could be Nymphadora -- I'm going to assume Grant though). Grant didn't know the songs that Sirius and Remus had played while at Hogwarts. The songs were "intertwined in the magic fabric of our dreaming," this implies that Remus is seeing his time with Sirius as a dream.
After losing Sirius, Remus was very obviously heartbroken and despite thinking that Sirius was the spy he still wanted him back. He wasn't able to fully open up to Grant about this for years, however, he found it much easier to open up to Sirius.
Remus talking about Sirius as the spy. Remus was the brave man and Sirius "played him."
This reminds me of the shower scene after Sirius comes home from Azkaban. Sirius was scared, he was scared that Remus hated him.
This is pretty much self explanatory. The "cruel fraternity" being the Marauders and the one who pledged being Remus.
Grant had made Remus quit smoking after Sirius left. Remus had associated the smoke with Sirius. The esoteric joke refers to a joke only one person would understand. It's essentially Remus wondering if Sirius is making fun of him in a way only he would understand.
Although Remus kept thier flat in Soho, I'm sure that if he had the means he would've sold it just like he would've with Sirius's things had Mary not hid them.
I think this is also self explanatory, Sirius leaving for Azkaban.
This song is so Wolfstar in everyday possible, all the lyrics (as I've showed) can be linked with events from their story. Makes me wonder if Taylor wrote it with that in mind.
