The Fledgling
It was a cold, rainy night in New York City. Just how Skylar liked it. There was a sense of comfort that came with rain. Comfort…something that was so alien to him, and yet he found it in the strangest places and things. Anything other than people. People were nothing but a food source to him, walking blood bags waiting to be drained.
He’d been at his usual bar, a dump of a place but it always drew a crowd. A certain type of crowd. Misfits and goths, those desperately trying not to fit in with society. They were the gullible ones. Easy to fool into a false sense of security without even needing to thrall. All it took was charm.
Tonight wasn’t any different as he soon left the club with a young woman, leading her down a dark alleyway promising her it was a shortcut. She was too drunk to question it. He lay the charm on thick as well as the flirting and soon had her pinned up against the wall, kissing her. He could hear her heart thudding, hear the blood rushing and pumping through her veins. Those lips trailed to her neck and he wasn’t even gentle as the scent of blood overwhelmed him and he acted on pure impulse, sinking fangs into skin and taking what was his.

Her screams went ignored. He didn’t even bother trying to keep her quiet, not with the thumping club music blaring. No one would hear her.
No one.

DELILAH HENDRIX, FLEDGLING OF CLAN TREMERE (template by @cloakofshadows)
i wanted them to see perfection. i ached for it in the deep, dark core of me: to be so good i left other people in the dust.

Just finished writing a good thousand words or so for Fledgling. I was in such a slump with this fic for some reason but I'm getting back into it.

[I like the idea of my toreador and Beckett exploring places and finding these books of rich history together. Nothing but comfortable silence and someone who finds lore and knowledge as beautiful as some do art.]

Of all the fictional worlds to wake up inside, the world of darkness as presented in Bloodlines is an awful choice.
Sadly, Olivia didnt get a choice when she found herself there. Fortunately, she knows the game a little too well. Pity she doesn't know how to use that knowledge.
All spoilers in short chapters and assumes you are familiar with the game.

I love going back to books I read as a kid and tracking how they helped shaped who I became. Like, one weird little book about Transcendentalism and a Canada goose could have had a much bigger impact on me than I thought. Who knows?

Chapters: 18/? Fandom: Interview with the Vampire (TV 2022) Rating: Explicit Warnings: Graphic Depictions Of Violence Relationships: Armand/Daniel Molloy, Lestat de Lioncourt/Louis de Pointe du Lac Characters: Daniel Molloy, Armand (Vampire Chronicles), Lestat de Lioncourt, Louis de Pointe du Lac, Claudia (Vampire Chronicles) Additional Tags: Explicit Sexual Content, Explicit Language, Canon-Typical Violence, Blood and Violence, Implied/Referenced Domestic Violence, Implied/Referenced Rape/Non-con, Other Additional Tags to Be Added Summary:
In the middle of the courtyard, crushing the green grass under its weight, was a stone tomb, covered in chains. Taking Claudia by the arm, Armand pulled her back, ignoring the indigent glare she gave him, before closing the short distance between himself and the coffin. He circled the stone, tracing his hand over the old, rough surface as his eyes followed the rusted chains. He glanced down at the lock where a folded paper was tucked beneath the oil-stained metal. He plucked the paper and unfolded it, scanning over the words before reading them aloud to the others.
“We have made a grave mistake,” Armand said. “We are not able to care for this fledgling. He will ruin us all,” Armand tore the note in half and tossed it over his shoulder.

Daniel Molloy is a vampire left in the care of the New Orleans coven where he finds a misshapen family, a love unlike any other, and the hidden darkness inside.
