[ Phobos ]
de Victor Dixen
Salut #booksta !
NOTE : 4⭐️

Micah will always help those who xe comes across, even if they may be a complete stranger who can take xyr aid for granted or a threat in disguise attempting to lure xem. A few of xyr starmates, Phoebus and Phobos, doesn't like the fact that xe does this and would often try to warn xem that xe'd place xemself with the Starwake System in danger if xe just keeps helping everyone who's in xyr path. Although as Micah grew up in early childhood that lacked assistance and emotional support until the age of late five when xe's taken into the Everlove family, and xe was left behind and abandoned many times by many people across xyr life, xe wants to live the rest of xyr life providing that light to everyone xe sees are in some form of trouble.
Xe is fully aware of the risks. Xe knows anyone xe helps can hurt xem right after or in the end. But Micah will always believe in the thought that no one can never know who needs support, and xe would rather be the one to provide that rather than assuming the worst and leave them behind. This was how xe got stabbed by an Infinity Infernal member in Saga 1 Season 3, but even then, does xe continue to offer xyr hand out, even to the teeth of death. Micah will never come to think xe should ignore another and leave them be for xyr own safety. Xyr kindness is beyond and terrifying, and xe knows this can frighten some who are close to xem and even those seeing xem as a foe. But in the end, Micah promises to xemself xe'll never be the one to leave forever.
This love Micah gives, it will always stay before it becomes one's sun, moon and stars.

Alternative AU, My AU
Hi, good morning, I'm Seven and English is not my first language, so I'm sorry if I have grammatical mistakes, it's the first thing I tell you and also that it motivates me to upload my own AU of Percy Jackson a bit of Magnus Chase and the Kane Chronicles but We start with PJO, what will it be called?  "Alternative AU" that name is for the three sagas, what is it about?  Well, as we well know Percy is a demigod and he is the son of Poseidon, god of the sea, well in my AU it is the other way around, Poseidon is the demigod and Percy the god of the sea and so on with everyone, I leave you the list and a short summary Gods: Hestia goddess of the home: it could be said that she does not have changes, only those of who her brothers are Kaite goddess of agriculture etc: She takes the role of Demeter the second eldest Sister Hera goddess of marriage, Queen of Olympus, etc: the only change in her is that instead of being the wife of Zeus she is Jason's Nico god of the dead and King of the underworld, etc: He takes the role of Hades which makes him be married to Persephone but she accepts that he is with Will since she is still the Queen of the underworld in the same way Percy god of the Sea and King of Atlantis, etc: He takes the role of Poseidon Jason god of heaven and King of Olympus etc: He takes the role of Zeus They are like this from oldest to youngest, the same as how the 6 children of cronos were born Piper goddess of love: in the original story Aphrodite marries Hephaestus but here Piper does not marry Leo since for me they are and will always be friends or treat each other as brothers Clarisse goddess of war: she takes the role of Ares and is dating Chirs whom she cheated on once with Piper Chirs god of thieves, etc: he takes the role of Hermes just like Aphrodite deceived Hephaestus with Ares, Clarisse deceived Chris once with Piper after that the events that originally had to happen happened, in another blog I do the more detailed history of them Sherman god of fear: Sherman takes the role of Phobos and is the son of Clarisse and Piper, the product of an infidelity Ellis god of terror: Ellis takes the role of Deimos and is also the son of Clarisse and Piper product of the same infidelity Mark destroyer of cities: Mark takes the role of Enio the Sister of Ares, son of Hera and brother of Clarisse Annabeth goddess of wisdom, etc: She takes the role of Athena and if she argues a lot with percy but they don't have a rivalry like Poseidon and Athena Leo god of fire, etc: He takes the role of Hephaestus and a bit of his history and he is still Piper's friend or even sometimes they are called brothers Will god of the sun, etc: he takes the role of Apollo and before you ask no, he does not have the personality of Apollo oh his ego, he is just Will and Nico's boyfriend Thalia goddess of the moon and a hunter, the original is the hunters of artemis, here are Thalia's hunters and by the way I tell you that Will and Thalia are twin brothers just like Apollo and Artemis Pollux and Castor gods of wine, etc: in this case Pollux takes the role of Dionysus as director of the camp, Pollux has the punishment of not drinking wine, while Castor remains on Olympus and sometimes goes to the camp to see his brother Now we go with those who will be the Demigods and will have their last names but only the ones that change Demigods:   Demeter Gardner: She takes the role of Kaite in this story   Hades Di Angelo: He has the same story as Nico, only for reasons of age he will be the second oldest of his "cousins" Zeus and Poseidon but the tallest of the three and that is why they consider him as an older brother even though he is not. and is the closest to poseidon   Poseidon Jackson: takes the role of Percy and all his history, he will be the greatest between Hades and Zeus since he is the hero of the prophecy, he also has a rivalry with Jason and Clarisse just like Percy has with Ares and Zeus in the original ,   Zeus Grace: she is a mix between Thalia and Jason (more Thalia than anything else), Zeus being the one who ran away from home and then met Luke, he was the one who became the tree that protects the camp, he is the youngest among hades and poseidon   Aphrodite Mclean: she is the one who replaces Piper and is Ares's girlfriend   Ares La Rue: she assumes the role of Clarisse and as always having her rivalry with Athena, she is dating Aphrodite but here Hephaestus has nothing to do   Phobos Yang: Take the role of Sherman   Deimos Yang: that would be the role of Ellis wakefield but I am not going to separate two twins like Phobos and Deimos   Enio: she would be the one to play Mark but she doesn't have a last name   Athena Chase: she takes the role of Annabeth and her whole story in this AU, she ran away from home at a young age and soon met Zeus and Luke, just like Annabeth in the original, Athena has a cousin Einherjar but that's what I'm talking about in another blog and before they ask no, there will be no Poseitena, I don't like it Hephaestus Valdez: he takes Leo's place, unfortunately he also takes his insecurities but Dionisio or little Harley are there for him if he feels bad   Apollo solace: he assumes the role of Will but he is still a first class egocentric although he also has an Egyptian friend and an einherjar friend but these two will be discussed in other blogs   Artemis solace: Artemis is not a demigod, just a hunter but she has the last name of Apollo and they are twins from different fathers   Hermes Rodríguez: takes the role of Chirs and is Apolo's best friend   Dionysus (no last name): takes Pollux's place as his son and Castor's nephew

A couple of those ask things I'm curious about
2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)
4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw
7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate
10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw
12. Easiest part of body to draw
14. Any favorite motifs
30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated
2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)?
You know, I haven't really thought about it much before 🤔 I feel like left vs right is about the same difficulty level for me to draw, both for 3/4 view and for profile view. Though 3/4 view is probably easier for me to draw of the perspectives. Front-facing is fun too to see a facial structure from a different perspective- literally!
4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw?
WEAPONS! Dear god I am AWFUL at drawing weapons, all of them. Guns, knives, swords, bats, whips, spears, crossbows, morning stars, brass knuckles... I am absolutely dogshit at drawing weaponry without some kind of direct reference to trace over, which really sucks because I love weapons and think they're super cool! I have so much respect for people that design their own weapons, especially the ones that have to work with time period-specific limitations (lookin at you, Vinland Saga)
Also as a side note: fuck shoes. I can't draw shoes (or feet) for shit. Every time I draw a shoe I hope ya'll know that it took me at least 5 different references and a 3D model in order to make that happen.
7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate?
Pixel artists and animation, ESPECIALLY animation. I simply do not have the patience for any of it, especially hand-drawn animation; I took a class for it in high school years ago and while I did just fine in the class it made me realize that I do NOT have the patience for the medium. 3D animation was a little easier for me but I'm still not skilled enough at timing and distortion to satisfy my creative image.
Also I have so much respect for pixel artists you wouldn't believe. I used to use Fireworks to fill out pixel art bases on DeviantART over a decade ago and while I did have fun with what I did and could still theoretically do it now, it'll never look as nice as I want it to look in my head 😔
10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw?
Jackets and sweaters, but also I LOVE drawing things like scarves and capes that can billow in the wind and shift with the movement of the wearer, cuz it adds a whole new dimension of action to what could otherwise be a static pose!
Also also I'm a sucker for fishnets 😊
12. Easiest part of body to draw?
So fun fact about me- I actually LOVE to draw human anatomy. Whenever I draw a character I always start by fully drawing out the character's physical anatomy, and then I draw the clothes, hair, and faces on top of that! Here's some sketches from the Soul Archive to show my semi-chaotic workflow~
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I guess the answer is anything that isn't feet is easy for me to draw lol
14. Any favorite motifs?
Repeated phrases/symbols that initially appear to have no meaning but then the meaning becomes abundantly clear in hindsight as it's revealed throughout the story, or alternatively a phrase/symbol that has a specific meaning that's relevant only to the initial introduction of it which changes over time to mean something entirely new, symbolizing the growth and evolution of the character/identity that uses it, or the shift in tone/focus of the overall story.
EX: "It's eternity in there." and "Longer than you think." - Emesis Blue "One of us must die." - The Doomstar Requiem additionally: The Open Hand - Army of the Doomstar / SOS - Dethklok
30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated?
Oh, EASY. My slipknot-inspired TWST piece I'm still incredibly proud of (even if I've redesigned Phobos since then)

Vampyria (first cycle) - Victor Dixen
I discovered Victor Dixen's work through his saga "Phobos" a few years ago. I liked it then but didn't follow his work until now. Going through the fantasy section of my trustworthy local bookshop, I fell upon the first three books of his new series: Vampyria.
I was curious, looking for good french authors, to see if there were writers that would suit my taste.
Once again, Dixen didn't disappoint me: he surpassed my expectations. And now I'm stuck while waiting for the new cycle of the series, so I will talk to you about the first one.
🩸 So what is Vampyria? 🩸
Have you ever imagined how the world would have been if supernatural, magic, and creatures existed? Vampyria did.
You are immersed into a dark world, stuck for 300 years in the 16th century. Louis XIV (yes, the Sun King himself), was turned into a vampire on the verge of death and decided to rule the entire world, and reshape society, nobility, and religion.
The world, now called "Magna Vampyria", is oppressing humans, who pay the tithe by donating blood. They live in the fear of the night, now unable to leave their village due to the enclosing law. Every member of the high nobility was turned into a vampire and is the one who receives the blood of the humans as well as the new church. You follow the adventures of Jeanne, a young grey-haired woman, who wants to kill the king after the assassination of her parents. And I can safely say, that she takes all the necessary measures to try to achieve her goal.
If you love fantasy, with a little bit of romance, a lot of drama, and vampires, you'll surely like these books.
🩸 My own, totally not vampiric, review 🩸
I didn't expect to like it at first. It took me a few pages to enter into the story, but it's always like this when I read Dixen's books. I'm not into vampires and was never truly a fan of them. But (and that's a big but), this series might have changed my mind about vampire literature.
This series works with "cycles" of books, and a cycle is the story told through the eyes of one character.
Even though the vampires are supposed to be enemies, I fell in love with the way they were described. They have their own rules as a society, with their codes, and their traditions... reading this book was like seeing a twisted version of the french court that we know and I loved it. More generally, it's like seeing a twisted version of french history, with the shadow of the Revolution behind every sentence.
I think that Dixen is doing a great job at piquing the interest of the reader. The more you advance the story, the more the plot thickens. His characters are all different, with their own mindsets and personalities and I always love to see a cast of characters that are not all lookalikes.
And, oh my god, the end (that serves as an introduction for the next cycle) is absolutely wonderful. It took me so off-guard that I had to reread it because I was too baffled to just go on.
So if you like vampires, history, and pirates (yes, pirates) you must give these books a shot.
🩸 Do I recommend these books? 🩸
Victor Dixen's style can be a hit or miss depending on the person. But for me, it was a massive hit, especially due to the world-building and the thrill of adventure and danger.
So, if you know Dixen's work: go ahead and have fun I recommend it. If you don't know Dixen's work: if you love fantasy and adventures you should totally give it a shot!

Round up of Day 1 from Rising Tomb, the 40k crusade event I'm at
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I lost. A lot.
As a recap, I took along my Wolfspear Vanguard Spearhead army. 50Pl list, but with 75Pl worth of models.
We(all 50-ish of those there) were assigned into 1 of 4 teams. I was put into the defilers'. Now what exactly the moody sons of Russ that the Wolfspear are, are actually defiling I'll leave up to you.
Game 1: Martian AdMech - Narrow the search
Things looked promising at the start. I had enough units in concealed positions that I could control the centre reasonably well. Then the invictor ate a neutron laser to the face, my incursors got acquainted with the business end of tasers & the less said about the eliminators the better. But hey, the Phobos Librarian wrote a mighty saga as he carved through an entire squad of raiders, a cavalcade of rust-stalkers before sticking his sword into a dragoon. Which took it very calmly and promptly blew up in his face, killing him.
End result: Loss
Game 2: Tryannids - Can't remember the mission name but it was the 6 objectives, find the real one
This could've gone better. Decided to play defensively, bide my time like a patient wolf and methodically find the real objective. The only problem with this plan? It required my forces to exist in the first place. Unfortunately my opponent had an incredible game 1 and his bugs were already fairly buffed and they promptly walked all over me. Was over by the end of round 3.
End result: loss
Game 3: Torchbearer Fleet - Cut off the head
My first game against a narrative force! And a good mission! What could go wrong, it had 2 objectives, I had 2 characters which wanted to be on them, and I could deploy on them unlike my opponent.
What went wrong was a genetically engineered demi-god in gold basically walking through my librarian before he could cast anything to charge his relic force sword up. The las-eliminators getting drive-by'ed by a storm speeder probably could've been avoided. But it was neck and neck for so long
End result: Loss
So at the end of day 1 I'm 0 - 3. There's 2 games to go tomorrow so I'll hopefully get another decent mission which I'll be able to work well with

Well, after 2 months I finally finished my rewatch of the entire Phobos Saga which includes 10 candles, the kids on bikes playtest, kollok 1991, and kollok
One thing about going all the way to 10 candles is that you can really see how much hyper’s production quality has increased over the years. I love seeing the progression tbh. I just wanted to type out my thoughts. Some spoilers under the cut.
It’s wild to see how many things have stayed throughout the different stories. Even tho 10 candles takes place in a separate universe, there’s certain things that come up in the current story that’s wild to see how far back it actually goes, like the Clarity clones, but especially Devina. Who knew Kate having a character named Devina in one of the 10 candles volumes then leads to C-Dubbs having Devina as a robot dog years later. OH and the cipher from The Town literally showing up in Kollok with Em’s memories, wild. Plus, of course, Mallory Jenkins appearing in the very first volume. I liked ten candles as a system and I liked having the different volumes (my favorite was The Pit).
I really liked the kids on bikes playtest. Similarly to 10C I liked seeing the different things from this show come over to kollok. Like the Shoveler, the Traveler, the Grotto, literally the whole Lucas Jenkins bit of Billy. Idk I just think it’s really fun. And this one is very funny. I liked seeing more of the kids of bikes system itself, like the rumors.
Rewatching Kollok 1991 is just a comfort for me tbh. I’ve rewatched it more times than I can count and so of course I’ve enjoyed watching it again. There’s certain scenes that are colored differently with the knowledge of both what happens after the end of season 2 and the fact the driver has been Mallory Jenkins this entire time. I love 1991 and it’s so comfy (even tho it’s a horror show lol)
Rewatching the newest season of Kollok was interesting. It was fun to see how the different dynamics and relationships between characters evolve over time. It definitely felt like there was more of a distinct Story than in 1991 (which makes sense for a variety of reasons). I love the Legacy portions of going through the memories especially after knowing what’s happening. And I enjoyed the ascended even more the second time. The production quality was *chef’s kiss*. I loved how the characters actually interacted with the Driver. I also loved getting more into the lore of the gods. The fact that one dream about night and day from s1 of 1991 was predicting this season is so fun. It’s just so good and I really enjoyed it.
I wonder do what’s next (if any idk), but I really enjoyed the rewatch of the Phobos saga. If you like lore, I recommend watching 10 Candles and KoB playtest after Kollok and Kollok 1991. If you’re intimidated by the length of 10 candles, then I recommend just doing the kids on bikes playtest bc that will give you a lot of lore that helps with season 1 of 1991!

SPRING INTO ACTION
I was not ready for Alaprilelle.
I did have a pretty busy April and May (and a bit of June) though, playing some games, doing some hobbying. I'll get onto all that soon but first: this incredible photo by @rogue_michael of Ragnar getting ready to face down Ghazghkull in one of those aforementioned games.
So good!
Tumblr media
First off was the third part of the dining room trilogy of 1v1v1 battles against the Necrons and Astra Militarum.
This time round was my turn to be the army in the middle of the board, but where the previous battles were set points, this was our first Crusade battle.
I certainly spent a lot of time considering how my roster should be built. For the longest time I had my Redemptor in there, knowing I would be up against a lot of tanks and Necron beasties, but I then settled on a theme. The army would consist of a scouting force of Phobos marines and Fenrisian wolves, and a core made up of Intercessors and Gravis-armoured marines that would deploy at each battle out of a (theoretical (for now (lol))) Thunderhawk Gunship.
This gave me good set of restrictions to build around, the Power Level limit and the T-hawk's transport capacity, and enabled me to concentrate on what units I really wanted to take. Also, the Crusade would be led by Herja, who had headed up a previous battle so effectively and deserved to build her saga. I dropped her provisional byname of Shadowhammer, as the Space Wolves Crusade rules have a great system whereby characters can be granted a Deed of Making in the form of a byname and ability when they gain a Battle Honour, and this could be the chance for her to earn one of her own.
Tumblr media
The battle was certainly attritional, even with the new Armour of Contempt rule that had been introduced just two days prior. I had deployed to attempt to counter-punch, but getting hit so hard from both sides I was wondering if I would have enough left to make this happen. In the end, I decided to break out with two key units - Herja into the Necrons, and the flamer Aggressors into the guardsmen.
The Aggressors made hard work of the guard and Bullgryns, but managed to break through into the artillery behind. Herja continued to be utterly terrifying in combat, carving through a unit of Skorpekh Destroyers before crashing into a Canoptek Spyder and deleting that as well. She might have had a Leman Russ tank too, if a power fist wielding Intercessor hadn't literally beaten her to the punch.
Tumblr media
A hard fought victory in the end. My units came through unscathed, and Herja did more than enough to earn her Deed of Making - she is now forever Herja Fenrysdóttir, Known as BLACKHOWL.
Hobby-wise, the dream was to get Alarielle finished by the time of the meet-up later in April, but after not picking up a brush for the whole of the first week of the month, I soon realised this was unlikely. Especially as she was still un-primed, and I still hasn't settled on a solid idea of how to go about actually painting her.
I did have a model built and primed however, and one that would act as a suitable herald for the goddess in her absence - the Warsong Revenant.
Tumblr media
I was delighted to get him pretty much finished in a solid week of work. He also sets the tone and palette I will use for my Tree-Revenant models who were next on my list, until something else cropped up...
Here's a more posed and moody shot that I had some fun with.
Tumblr media
So I got him carefully boxed up and packed ready for the meetup. He travelled all the way down to Board In Brum in Walsall, and then never made it out of his box. I managed to play zero games of Age of Sigmar, and two fairly big games of 40k.
Tumblr media
First up was another game against the vibrant Ork army from a previous meet, this time featuring Ghazghkull. I rejigged my list so I could have it headed up by Ragnar, and hoped the two might face off. They did in the end - spoiler, it did not end well for Ragnar, who took the maximum 4 wounds off the big Ork in the fight phase and was promptly squished in return. The rest of the army didn't fair too well either, including my Reivers who once again failed all of their 9 inch charges, with rerolls. I can't get those bolt carbine armed ones painted up soon enough.
Tumblr media
The second game was against the cultists, who were also joined by a bunch of Emperor's Childen. There was a competition of "guess how many cultists would be killed over the weekend" - with it being a unit of 30, and Tide of Traitors meaning they could come back at full strength in a game, the potential was for a maximum of 59 per game. I only had one thing on my mind - they would not be coming back.
It only took one third of my shooting and 3 command points, but when the smoke cleared, none were left standing. It also happened to be an incredibly tight and entertaining match.
One more game was played in early June, at Warhammer World. I was soundly beaten by Ad Mech - one takeaway of "deploy your army in cover better", learned the hard way.
Back at the start of March I went to the Warhammer World 25th Anniversary event, and had such an enjoyable demo game of Aeronautica Imperialis I ordered the Wrath of Angels box and one of the glorious Thunderhawks. Bit bigger than the ones I remember from my Epic playing days.
Tumblr media
I also made a couple of big purchases - Kill Team Moroch, with the excellent buildings and the upgraded Infiltrators, and the new Sylvaneth battle box, featuring the absolutely glorious new Lady of Vines and Gossamid Archers models.
Tumblr media
And my new battletome arrived in the last few days as well. Looking forward to trying to get my head around that before my army next see the table.

How would a live action witch ruin the characters
Will: toddler level angst, abuses the heart of kandrakar yet doesn't get called out on it, wears JUST pink
Irma: stupid idiot, makes constant meta jokes every five minutes, basically Lance McClain with even less development, wears JUST blue
Taranee: speaks, acts, is ghetto, only there to be will's therapist, also aggressive because every fire themed character has to be also she wears only red&orange
Cornelia: complete bitch, useless with her powers, hates her friends, constantly cheats, supposedly fashionista but dresses like an old church lady, wears green and brown and not in flattering ways either
Hay Lin: The Smart One™
Elyon: ends up being the most likable of the cast because her flaws and storyline actually means something but also immediately forgives her brother after weird pseudo 1nc*st and even gives up her crown because being a princess is so anti feminist
Phobos: Gets a redemption arc not to work for it but because he happens to be the sibling of one of the main heroes, gets constantly excused for his actions. Alternatively he's really freaking bland with zero backstory and dresses even more stereotypically evil than in the show
Cedric: Yes Man, no redemption like in the comics despite being more sympathetic, doesn't turn inti a giant snake, or if he is it's a guy in a shitty costume
Orube: Who?
Miranda: The Girl Villain
Nerissa: Actually she's dead and she gets replaced by her hot daughter
The other CHYKN: uuuuuuh who are they they're not relevant they're too old so we replace them with better HOTTER guardians
The parents: Eggman killed them
Bonus:
Samara (my oc): Token Goth™ is supposedly the mature adult but acts like a total know it all/NOT LIKE OTHER GIRLS, also willingly works with the bad guys because she can't resist that Phobos dick 😩😩😩😩😩

I don't think I'll ever have it in me to write these details out in a drabble where Micah woke up a week later from the event of Warlock almost getting their body's arm torn out, but Phobos did front when Micah tried to comfort Warlock and almost strangled it to death. Phobos and Warlock became closer in saga one season two when the system was forced to stay over its home to recover from the massacre event at Break Beyond Festival, with them especially bonding over electric guitars and rock music, but after what happened to the system's arm, Warlock lost Phobos' whole trust and respect. Phobos did also hit Micah in their headspace a few times for their recklessness of approaching to Warlock in its feral form ( while outside in reality, their body arm under Phobos' control hit Micah's head as Micah is mainly fronting ) before Phoebus forced it to return back to their internal world / leave their headspace.

[ touch ] loki/phobos
sexual tension prompts | @honorxlies
[ TOUCH ] : our muses touching one another discreetly but intimately in a public setting.
He did not know what to think of it when she agreed to his suggestion to go out in the human world and enjoy the nightlife. Probably just to annoy Loki, as Phobos often did. And for some strange reason, the god grew fond of her blunt personality, one that surely was to be remembered. Under the table and without anyone to even notice a slight movement, they took turns in caressing the other's thigh. A restaurant, the perfect setting. "You don't want to wait for the main course?"
