Sweet potato update!
After washing, poking holes in the skins to vent steam and baking at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for an hour directly on the oven rack, I cut them open and rubbed some cinnamon, dill, chili flakes and black pepper on half. The others I used some South African barbecue rub I had. Then after topping them with the soy chorizo I sprinkled on some shredded aged cheddar and broiled them on high until the cheese was bubbly. The dill flavor disappeared, and the ones with the rub were too strong - personally I preferred the ones with the cinnamon. The other person I gave some to didn’t like them.
Lesson learned! Bake and eat at your own risk. But thanks for the suggestions! If I make them again I’ll use a sweeter spice mix to rub on the sweet potatoes. Maybe some brown sugar… and something not as heavily spiced as the soy chorizo… perhaps a canned chili.
Or I could boil them, maybe, and roast them with chili like a casserole. Though I don’t think the Dunmer would do that lol
I guess this deserves the old adage: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! Cinnamon on sweet potatoes is an ancient delicacy :P
This gives me an idea, though. I wonder how much of Morrowind’s exports are food-based? Elsweyr and Blackmarsh are the obvious provinces for spice production, but Morrowind’s unique environment could definitely produce some interesting (and maybe expensive?) flavors. Is Telvanni bug musk edible??

Wait wait what did your boss do with the sweet potato??? I'm trying to imagine how you'd eat a raw sweet potato, they are so solid. You could shave bits off I guess??? Did they microwave it?
he slowly sawed it in half with a plastic butter knife, put one half back in the lunchbox (presumably for tomorrow) and then microwaved the other half

Hi! As a long time dairy allergy haver, don't be afraid to try rice or oat milks, I found them a little more tolerable (internally) than soy milk. Just my two cents! Good luck lacking that toast!
Thank you, I will! I judged them by nutrition levels specifically (I've been having some trouble getting enough energy into my regular diet) and soy had a pretty clear leg up over the rest there, but these side-effects are just not fucking tenable, lord.

Season with your heart
[
Tip 2: to make mashed potatoes easy style get enough small potatoes, fill pot till like. A third the way up with potatoes, cover with water (make sure it barely covered the potatoes), then lightly season with salt. Boil for about 20-40 minutes so they're tender as hell. Pulverize those fucks in a bowl (strained). Add seasoning to your liking (added salt, pepper, onion powder because I wasn't assed to reach for garlic powder, agave syrup / maple, cheese, sour cream. Loosen with water and add half and half (or better cream but. Didn't have it) to liking. Microwave that fucker then rapidly mix so the cheese strings)

Promising results from today's bread experiment! Since you can replace oil in most baking recipes 1:1 with a thick fruit/vegetable puree, I've been experimenting with different kinds and amounts of puree. For this loaf, I cooked some really sour blueberries (i didn't want to eat them they were so sour) down into blueberry butter and pureed them. I added a little sugar to offset the sourness, and a tiny pinch of baking soda to neutralize the acid a tiny bit (not enough to taste like baking soda of course 😝), and used an equal amount of the blueberry butter to replace the called for vegetable oil. The smell of the bread is vaguely fruity/floral? but the texture and flavor are delicious, with a faint blueberry flavor. I was worried that the acid might affect the rise of the dough, but it seemed to work fine (makes sense if bread can be baked with orange juice, blueberries are hardly more acidic than that). I'm excited to try using apple butter in this recipe in the fall, and i'm still brainstorming what else i can use 👀

I’m assuming this is for the ask game I forgot I reblogged, otherwise I’m confused.
18.) your boba/tea order? I’ve gotten boba once and it was taro and I hated it (I was pressured into getting it even though I wanted a diff flavor because “we should all get a different flavor” and someone had already picked the flavor I wanted and I’m still miffed about it tbh) idk, I’d try boba again but idk what flavor I’d get. and like generally for tea?? the only time people order tea around here is when getting sweet or unsweetened iced tea and you will not catch me drinking unsweetened iced tea unless it’s a mistake
