The Take Down - Please Read :)

Hey guys,

So as you're probably aware by now, I will be leaving Tumblr/Wordpress etc. I have written the final thing that I'll be posting online, and I've started to prepare to leave. I've been going through all my works and making sure I've got a copy of everything before I remove it from online.

I'm starting with Tumblr and will be going through and slowly removing fics here, but I will leave up all the stuff on my website until D-day (which is a date to still be decided yet).

As it stands, I will no longer be posting anything new on here. I decided that My Worthless Love is the final thing I will have shared here.

If you've ever had a commission from me, be it a birthday drabble, third base drabble, ATW oneshot/mini series or you've paid to have one done privately and you'd like me to send you a copy of your commission, please let me know and I can do that for you.

I'm still deciding what I'll be doing with the rest of my works. I know some people have asked me if they can buy copies of certain fics, but I'll let you know when I've reached a decision on what I'll actually do with it all.

Thought I'd just keep you updated :)

Sure have! #I forgot how long it takes for Chimera Falin to come into play. #I still really love my 'better drawn' art of her - unfortunately it was several weeks too early for the anime only folks. #Slowly getting the hang of drawing Laios. I don't know why I struggle so much but I am getting...somewhere. #Meta time: God damn I love how the chimera shows off the expertise and gap between Kabru and Laios. #The truth is: they are both *right* and they are both *wrong*. #This creature is a combination of monster and human and they only have the skillset to deal with one of those. #Kabru goes for all the human vitals - but she isn't human. #Laios tries to approach her as a monster and is struck down by the humanity he sees in her. #She is something new that defies what they *both* understand about the world. And that makes her such a perfect antagonist. #The damsel was the dragon all along! #...She is really so cute though. Terrifying! But adorable. I am so excited to see the boom of fanart for her.

There's a version of the "don't go grocery shopping while hungry" rule specifically for writers where you should never under any circumstances be allowed to touch your draft within 3 hours of reading a really good story. Because sometimes when you read something great your head goes "fuck this is so much better than my stuff I should make that more like THIS instead!" Look at me. That's the devil talking and you should close the document NOW.

#you will make superficial edits that do not gell well with the rest of your work #and won't actually capture what you thought was so good about that story #close the doc. sit down. think about it for a while. inspiration is fine. getting a 'eureka' moment from another story is fine #but if you find yourself comparing your work one to one with someone else's and taking any differences to be flaws on your part then STOP #you will never write good stuff by trying to make it look less like you wrote it #writing #writing advice #guess who just had to go into her google doc history and undo a bunch of panic-induced edits #because she read a fic about the same characters she's writing for? #meeee. they aged badly within just a few hours of hindsight. learn from my mistakes #self-hatred is not a good motivation for creation #fic writing
