🎀 Do they wear a specific accessory with a special meaning behind it? What is their usual fashion sense like? What do they wear when they want to be comfortable and what do they wear when they’re going to a fancy party? Or do they just not care?
Jumbo OC Ask Game
I think this is a good opportunity for me to talk about Akiko's hairpin! Putting it below a cut because it got long lol
Shimotsuki Akiko (also known as Hanamurasaki) was the daughter-- the only child-- of the former Daimyō of Ringo, the famous samurai Shimotsuki Ushimaru. She worked as an oiran in the Flower Capital and would pass on intelligence to her father and his allies. When Orochi and Kaido took power, she resisted and was murdered for opposing them.
Akiko's father Ushimaru had given her a hairpin with the Shimotsuki crest on it for her sixteenth birthday. It was a family heirloom that had once belonged to his sister, Furiko, but she had left it behind when departing Wano. (Furiko, as you may know, would go on to marry Roronoa Pinzoro). Akiko treasured it and wore it proudly. When she was attacked by Kaido's men, she used it as a weapon to fight back. It was found clutched in her hand, covered in blood.
The pin was returned to Ushimaru after his daughter's death. He then passed it onto Akiko's lover and the father of her child when begging him to take the three-month-old baby and flee Wano before things got worse. The lover agreed, and did as he asked, returning to the Paradise half of the Grand Line.
When Dracule Mihawk left his infant daughter at the Sisters of Heavenly Mercy Convent on Phestris Island, he placed the pin into her tiny hand, only telling the nuns that it was "a memento of her mother."
Sixteen years later, Bravada Yara would ask her crewmate Izou about it, not missing the way his face immediately paled at the symbol of two crossed swords etched into the head of the silver pin. "It's definitely from Wano," was all he would ever say about the matter.

(As for the remainder of the question, I know I've talked a bit about Yara's fashion sense but to reiterate: Practical, but classy. Short skirts/dresses. Easy for a swordswoman to move in. No overly bright colours. She's a bit picky, lol).

Sanji x Reader, a bit of Law x Reader
Warnings: angst, one-night stand, not really a love triangle – law and reader are mature about the situation. Some implied smut. WANO SPOILERS. Trauma from child abuse.
a/n: this is the end! possible alt. ending if people want it.
Summary: Witnessing all the suffering Sanji went through on Whole Cake Island, all you want is for him to be truly happy…even if it means not with you. Set after the fight in Wano, you go through the motions of an endless fight and end up in bed with the Hearts Pirates’ Captain to distract yourself from the one thing you want the most – Sanji.

“Do you really think Law and I make a nice couple!”
Shocked – Sanji just stared blankly at you, fish still in hand. He didn’t even know what to think or say, so he just smiled. He smiled so brilliantly; you knew if he answered yes, it would crush you into a million jagged pieces. Little jagged pieces that had no chance of ever being put back together – it would be better off to just throw them into a forgotten drawer, where you only ever look for lost things. The kitchen door bumped into your back as it closed and Sanji placed the fish into the freezer, closed it and covered up the barrel of fish. He walked over to the sink and washed off his hands, finally using a kitchen cloth to dry them; he turned to you, hand on the kitchen island.
“I think the two of you make sense – he’s definitely the serious type but I could see you two going for the long haul.”
Fuck you, that’s what you wanted to say but foul language directed at Sanji tasted wrong. Instead, holding your composure, you moved to the opposite side of the island and stared at him. He stared back but quickly withdrew and apologized. “For what?”
“The other night,” he said. “I was insensitive when you were pouring your heart out to me. You have to know I – I didn’t mean anything by it.”
By what? Even if what he had said about Pudding was true, why did he have to say it out loud? Why couldn’t he have kept it to himself? Because in your mind, he was going to marry her, and he did spend time with her – you knew about the cake they made together. How easily it would have been for Pudding to put aside her wicked ways and fall for Sanji. How could see not see the kindness in his eyes and smile? How could she not have fallen in love with him as you have? She’d be a damn fool.
You were a damn fool.
“You remind me of my father, Sanji.”
The statement earned a shameful expression from the cook because he knew how your father was from the stories you’ve recounted to him. During the late-night sessions sitting in the aquarium room; dim lights above the glass filling the room as you exchange horror stories. Sometimes, most times, the two of you would fall asleep on the divan that was up against the glass. Then in the morning, Sanji would make coffee and you would keep him company as he made breakfast for the crew. He had cherished those talks but now it felt like it was all slipping away. He wanted to light a smoke, but it seemed like the wrong move, even if it would have calmed his nerves.
“The two of you share the same charming swagger, romantic notions easily roll of your tongue.” You glanced down at your hands, turning them over to study your palms – permanent faded scars imprinted onto them. Evidence from the lashes your father would give when you took too much of a breath. Staring back at Sanji, you heaved a sigh. “He swore up and down that he loved my mother, I have these tads of memories of that being true. Seeing him shower her with flowers and poems, he was an amazing singer. He’d sing her these longing ballads, dance with her in the middle of the kitchen…but the façade slowly fell…”
Sanji couldn’t move; now at his side, hands clasped against his slacks. He stared at you, heart aching for the child you once were – eyes darting to your hands. He had noticed the scars before and when he had asked, you had changed the subject. Now he realized that your bastard of a father had done that to you; a fire burned through Sanji’s body and if he hadn’t already been dead, he would have hunted him down. Killed him. Torture him with a slow death - a deserving death but he knew, deep down, you would have never allowed it. You were too kind. “You’re a lot like my father, Sanji. All the good parts. So charming and sweet, doting, and silly…”
Your hand moved alongside the kitchen island as you moved around it, stepping right in front of Sanji. He towered over you a little, eyes on you, waiting, heart pounding. He wasn’t sure what to say or if he should say anything at all, but you were so close and all he wanted to do was hold you in his arms. Hold you safe until the world ended and only then would he relax knowing the two of you would go to death together. That’s all he wanted, he knew that now, but fear gripped him still.
“The difference between you and him is that he indulged in the darkness inside him. He allowed himself to become mean, but you don’t have that in you, Sanji. There is not an ounce of darkness inside that heart of yours. Why do I know this? Because we are one of the same – we fear the same things.”
Stunned, he wasn’t sure you really understood the fear that beheld him; nights when he was alone, sleeping in bed, all he could ever think about was turning into a monster. Like his father and brothers. Then after using the raid suit that seemed to awaken…everything his father was hoping for when he was a child. That had scared him so badly he made Zoro promise to kill him if his humanity slipped away. He had to ask the swordsman because he was the only one that would do it – even with all the bickering, there was mutual respect. He knew Zoro would follow through with his code of honor, even if it meant never seeing you again – anything to keep himself for being a monster…of hurting….
“To love someone so much you hurt them, that is my fear. I don’t want to become a monster like my father – loved my mother so much he could only damage her. Tell me, Sanji, what is your fear?”
Your fingers shook against the counter, eyes fighting back tears. Emotions weaken your every breath, but you need to hear it out loud. Needed to hear him say it out loud. Tears formed in the man’s eyes, and he let out a deep breath, gathering up the courage but why did it feel so hard? Why were the words lingering in the back of his throat? Why was this harder to say to you? He felt dizzy and God, he needed a smoke but instead he thought of the small child he once was. The pain his family inflicted onto him and how he survived it all because of the two women in his life – his mother and sister. The kindness in their hearts kept him going and allowed him to escape that horrible place. His sister, Reiju, told him he’d find kind people in the world and how right she was – because he did find his kind people, he did find his family.
“I don’t want to become a monster like them.”
A tear fell from his eye, and you reached for his hand, telling him to look at you. He did, eyes shaking as you held his hand tenderly. “The greatest thing that ever came from that family is you – don’t you see that? How can such a lightness like you become a monster? Can’t you understand that? I need you to understand that, please.”
He started to cry, and you moved to him, closing in on the miles of space that seemed to have formed between you for some time now. Without hesitation, he moved down into your arms; falling onto his knees, he buried his head into your stomach. Holding back tears of your own, your fingers ran through his hair as his arms draped around your waist. Soothing his sorrows with each stroke of your fingers, you whispered his name. His head moved back to look up at you, eyes soft, sad. Touching his face, with bated breath, you told him he could never be a monster. “…and if by the grips of hell, you do. I’ll become a monster too and we can go into the darkness together.”
I love you, that’s what you were saying. He knew it in his heart, as he stared up at your melancholic face; you were sad for him, sad for yourself but that was the world, wasn’t it? Oh, God, what a fool he had been! All this time, you were right there in front of him but…that was why he had gone with his family, agreed to the marriage. Keeping his family safe from the family that rejected and neglected him; he wanted to keep Luffy, the others, you, safe. The thought of anything happening to any of you, that had been true fear, but he was an idiot. He should have had faith in Luffy, faith in you from the beginning. It was clear now, the depths you would have gone for him because there was no corner of the world he would not have gone to, to save his family. To save you.
Closing his eyes, he let out a deep breath and stood up; knees heavy, feet firming on the ground and before he could give into nerves – he took your face into his hands and kissed you. It felt like the air shifted; everything that made no sense, suddenly made complete sense. Arms slipped around his shoulders, fingers gliding up his neck into his hair; the small action sent things in motion. Before you could understand, Sanji had you leaned up against the counter, hands down at your waist. His lips captured yours and no amount of strength could pry them away. He groaned into your mouth, and you tugged at the buttons of his slacks – that’s when he paused. Breathless, for the second time of the day, he examined the expression in your eyes, and he asked if you were sure. “This isn’t exactly where I would have wanted…”
“This is perfect,” you murmured, nodding ferociously as he leaned in for a kiss. He laughed, forehead against yours, hands idly at the hem of your blouse. What if someone comes in, he asked, and you grabbed him by the chin. “Let them watch, I don’t care, Sanji. I’ve wanted this for so long, I’ve wanted...you.”
Tears started to well in your eyes and he lightheartedly chuckled, wiping the would be tears from the corner of your eyes. “No more crying today, let me show you how much I love you.”
The last three words left his mouth effortlessly and an aching erupted between the two of you. Mere seconds was all it took for Sanji to push aside everything that was on the kitchen island; his usual tidiness nonexistent as he helped you onto the counter. His limber fingers undoing the green kimono Nami had brought you. The silk felt cool against his skin and when he pulled off the garment, his eyes took in the sight before him – you were on your back, wanting him in all the ways one could want someone. He climbed onto the counter, using his right knee to separate your legs further. He was nervous but it was an exciting nervousness as he drifted down to you. He pulled himself out and you touched his shoulder, looking up at him with such strength, he could feel the fire inside you. It was all for him, and he knew right there, above the flesh of your love – he would live every day knowing he deserved you.
He deserved this, god damnit, he did.  And when he finally pushed into you and you withered under him, he knew it would be all fine. If somehow, he did become a monster – he knew you’d be right alongside him, monsters together; and if that wasn’t love, then what was?
…..
The bonfire was warm; the sound of Brook’s violin playing joyful music filled the air. Franky and Usopp were lighting fireworks and you watched as they cheered each other on, clapping and hooraying. Smiling, you leaned back into Sanji’s chest, his arms wrapped around your waist. His fingers were clasped together at your stomach and your hand was on his; his chin resting on your shoulder. Zoro was drinking alongside Jinbei, both lounging on chairs near the fire. Luffy had Otama on his shoulders as she pointed out all the different colors of the fireworks, Nami right by their side. Robin was sitting next to where Sanji and you stood, handing Chopper pieces of candy every so often – the pair enjoying the light show as the others.
“This feels nice.”
Turning your head to look at Sanji, you agreed, kissing him softly on the cheek. “I can’t believe we leave tomorrow…”
“Yeah, and I have a feeling this is just the tip of the iceberg. We’re going to have a hell of ride from here on out.”
He was right; there was so much more left to be explored. So many more people to fight, people to help along with every one’s personal goals – all this leading to Luffy being the King of the Pirates. It wasn’t an if, it was a when and you were ready for the journey, for the fighting and most importantly, for moments like this. Surrounded by the people you loved the most – a family brought together by one young pirate. Sighing, you asked Sanji if he had everything he needed for the next adventure. He knew you meant supplies wise, but he held you tighter, and said all he needed was right in his arms.
“Smooth,” you whispered, and he laughed, moving off your back. He stretched and nodded to someone past the bonfire – a familiar face. It was Law, standing next to Luffy. After the kitchen affair, Sanji and you laid on the counter, tangled and sweaty. He was perched up on his elbow, other hand on your stomach, cigarette finally in his mouth. He made invisible circles onto your skin when he quietly asked about Law and you. “I don’t need details but…”
“There’s nothing to worry about,” you had assured him. “It really was just something that happened, and we both knew it was a one-time thing. It really was just two people lonely for the night.”
He seemed relieved with the answer, but you did mention the vivre card, and after a long moment, Sanji smiled softly. “He’s a powerful friend to have.”
“I’m going to make the second portion of the dinner, go talk to him.” Sanji kissed your forehead, and you held him by the elbow, stopping him from moving away from you. He gave you a perplexed smile but when you said I loved you to him; he beamed. Pulling you to him, he kissed you not once but twice. Laughing against your mouth when you pinched his butt. “You’ll be the death of me, sweetheart. I better go make food before Luffy decides he’s hungry again.”
You parted ways and watched as Sanji left to the cooking station; and when you moved passed Robin and Chopper, you gave each a light pat on the head. Walking over to Luffy, you said hello to Law, and he smiled at you. “I see you two worked things out.”
Nodding, you thanked him. “For being such a good friend to me, I appreciate it.”
Eyeing Luffy, Law nodded for you to follow him; the two of you moved to the side, out of hearing range. He stood at a respectable distance and said he was leaving tonight. “We have some things we need to get to. I heard you guys are leaving tomorrow, Luffy just told me.”
“My captain, loose lips.”
“I’m sure we’ll see each other soon; you Straw Hats have a way of crashing people’s plans…”
Grinning, you smiled proudly. “You mean we have a way of always saving people’s ass’s – that’s what you meant, right?”
Law drew a scowl and you laughed, patting him lightly on the shoulder. You told him to never change, and he finally smiled, telling you the same. Moving to give me a hug, the pirate stepped back, and you laughed, promising no harm would come to him. “Sanji’s not going to kick your ass, you don’t have to be afraid.”
The man grumbled under his breath but returned the gesture; the two of you embraced and you were grateful for him. For being there on a lonely night, for being thoughtful and mature; for being a friend. Giving him a tight squeeze, you smiled up at him and he reminded you of his vivre card. “If you guys ever need help…”
“Even if you don’t want to show it, you’re a kind person, Law.”
Parting ways, you watched as he walked back to his crew; laughing when Bepo attacked him with a hug. Oh, he was definitely a softie for his crew. Feeling a wave of lightness in the air, you turned to your own crew and strode to Nami when she waved you over. She eyed your outfit and gave a thumbs up, pulling you to her side she asked if Law and you bid your goodbyes. “Yeah, we did.”
“Good – I don’t want him sniffing around you now that Sanji and you are together.”
You let out a laugh, hugging her tightly. “You’re such a good friend, Nami.”
The two of you held each other, enjoying the fireworks for a while until you felt a familiar hand on your shoulder. With a cigarette perched between his lips, Sanji asked Nami if he could have some time with you and the navigator smirked. “Just because she’s your girlfriend now doesn’t mean you can hog her time! And while we’re at it, no more…. you know, where we eat!”
Sanji and you flushed with shame, eyeing each other – as if to accuse the other of blabbing. Catching on, Nami rolled her eyes and commented that she heard noises coming from the kitchen. Sanji buried his face in your back, holding you tight against his body. Equally embarrassed, you apologized to Nami.
“Just don’t let it happen again, you’re lucky Robin was standing guard after I heard the noise.” She looked over to you and sneered. “You’re like really loud, by the way. I think we should ask Franky if there’s a way to add another bedroom – none of us should have to deal with that.”
“Please go away,” you begged her, and she howled, walking away with a shake of her head. Mortified, you told Sanji he could never touch you again and he laughed, tugging you firmly against his chest.
“Not a chance.”
Turning around to face him, you slipped both arms around his neck just as the last of the fireworks were set off. Sparks flew up above the sky, the sound of young Otama’s cheers rang in your eyes and when Sanji’s eyes set upon you – fireworks ignited in your heart. His eyes grew soft as his head leaned toward yours and when his lips touched yours; you knew it was all worth it. The suffering the two of you endured, from childhood to now, it all seemed worth it now that you had each other. Sanji’s heart finally felt at ease with you in his arms, he truly was where he belonged. Luffy shouted for everyone to gather, a toast with the best crew ever! Sanji and you kissed once more, hands on each other’s face; his thumb rubbed against your cheek. Brushing strands of hair from his face, your eyes took in the sight before you. A man who was confident, who knew he was deserving of the world and you, the woman who would make sure he’d get everything he wanted. “You’re going to find the All Blue, Sanji. I’ll make damn sure of it.”
The sound of your captain shouting Sanji and you over to where the rest of the crew now stood, brought a beaming smile onto the cook’s face. He gazed upon you with a hopeful glee in his eyes and reached down for your hand. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
As the words danced around Sanji’s heart, hand in hand, you walked over to Luffy and the others; Zoro being quick to make a quip about your new relationship status. Lovesick idiots were his exact words which sent Sanji into a raging fit. Holding him by the waist, you laughed which made Nami shout at you for egging them on. Chopper voiced his concern about Sanji and you being sick, Robin giggled at his cuteness, while Brook asked if seeing your panties was out of the question now – which in turn made Sanji’s fiery directed to him. Luffy shouted for Sanji to stop, that he would burn Brook down to the…bones. Usopp smacked Luffy on the head because the musician was already made of bones. Franky cheered for no one in particular, he just wanted to see a fight, while Jinbei could only laugh at the mess in front of him. After several minutes of this, the arguing turned into soft bickering that involved into laughter and then Sanji’s arm was around your shoulder, everyone’s cup of sake in the air. Smiles all around and in the morning, the Sunny would sail away from Wano. Sanji and you, side by side, would be monsters together, forever.

Ugly Outfits Tournament - Round 1 Side B
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda under the cut.
Law: Law's outfits are on a scale from okay to amazing usually, but this one is just bad. I don't even know what to say, I'm too busy staring at that leg hair (which wasn't there during the wano arc, just saying!)
Big Mom: That's one fugly ass dress. Too pink and shapeless. Being plus-size is no excuse to wear something like that. It's unflattering even for her figure (whatever that might be exactly - we can't see with this dress). I believe she didn't even bother putting on a nicer dress for her daughter's wedding. If that were my mother I would have send her back home to change. She also seems to have gone back to her childhood clothing style once she hit 40 or something. She wore nice clothes when she was 20/30, so why go back to these ugly dresses?

Riddled with nerves you looked into his eyes trying to search for an answer that wouldn't break his heart. Law had been so sweet and kind to you, and you began to tear up knowing that he may not feel the same after you've told him.
" What's wrong Y/N?" He spoke moving a small curl from your face.
" Law what I am about to say is unforgivable, and I want to start off y saying I apologize and I should've been smarter and-"
you let out a sharp breath and wiped the tears that began to fall from your eyes. If you were going to do this you were going to do it right no matter what happened afterwards.
" When Zoro dragged me off to talk we kissed, back when everything between me and the strawhats was still normal Zoro and I had gotten pretty close. I was weak for a moment but that doesn't excuse what I've done and If you want to break up and not help me anymore."
It felt like you had moved a mountain. There were no more secrets and guilt, but looking at Law's reaction there were other things to worry about rather than feeling so gleeful about telling him you cheated.
His hands loosed around your waist and you could see the very visible anger on his face. He let out a huff and pulled you close, his eyes softened and he gently cradled your face before kissing your cheek.
" Y/N I honestly should be more upset at you but I'm not, we haven't known each other as long as you've known him and I can tell you're sorry about it."
That was all it took for you to shatter in his arms. You have been dragged through hell since you got here and in the last few weeks, you'd been walking on eggshells around people you once loved. This world seemed like a complete fantasy where you can come and go whenever you pleased, little did you know you would be fighting for your right to be with your own family.
Law was a breath of fresh air, you thought he would completely just turn on you. For him to tell you that he wasn't upset made every wall you put up come crashing down, there was nothing you wouldn't do for him at this point.
He cradled you in his arms and let you soak his shirt in your pent up tears, he knew you were utterly exhausted. Law wasn't angry at you for many reasons, the main one being that he was in your exact shoes at one point in his life, he knew that he couldn't hold anger for a woman who was doing all she could to survive in a world she knew little to nothing about.
You cried for what felt like hours and somewhere in between Law had gotten you to lay in his bed and you were finally able to calm down.
" Are you feeling better now?" He spoke handing you a tissue.
You nodded grabbing the tissue and wiping away the dried tears leaving you with a red nose and tired damp eyes. He smiled at you and sat beside you running his hand through your messy curls.
" Listen I'll get you some clothes to change into and you can rest some more, I'll come get you if the Strawhats come or when dinner is ready."
After you changed and crawled back into bed you realized how soft the sheets were and how cozy his blanket was and you rolled yourself into a cocoon. This was the first time you finally felt like you can rest without worrying about someone peaking over your shoulder.
While you rested Law gathered his crew and began doing what he was best at, strategizing. The heart pirates meshed together well, Law created the perfect team and they bounced ideas off one another with ease.
“ Captain the main issue is separating Y/N from the StrawHats completely. It was a nightmare when we first met her, I don’t think it will be any easier on Wano.” Shachi spoke up.
“ Yeah it was only half an hour before they went on a full search for her.” Penguin added.
The other chimed in agreeing, some disagreeing but ultimately they were able to conclude that their best advantage was the straw hats being even more separated when they got to Wano.
“ I can talk to Y/N-ya about convincing them, although this might be harder after what she told me earlier.” Law announced.
Law decided to reveal most of what you told him earlier but he decided to save your pride and tell his crew the kiss was one sided. This brought more conflict but everyone knew their main issue would be Zoro and, most likely Robin if she even got a whiff of a plan.
Law left his crew to chat amongst themselves. Soon as he was far enough he used his power and appeared in front of you, you were still snuggled in his blanket and the sight of you made his heart race.
It was in character for Law to be weak for cute things but this attraction to you drew him in by the collar. He sat at the foot of the bed watching the little movements you made while a war silently raged in his mind.
He liked you. He knew he did, every moment you spent together- even when you lie on his bed dreaming about who knows what he enjoyed it. You were this amazing otherworldly being that was unraveling out of the same web he was trapped in.
This newfound infatuation confused him, it’s not the first time he had a crush or been attracted to someone but, it just felt like so much more.
Hours later you woke up to darkness. You were dazed and confused till you heard the wild commotion happening outside the room. The voices were loud and they all meshed together being indistinguishable however, you knew very well who would was now on the ship.
Your “ crew ” was here for you, and it reminded you how short bliss had been over the last few months. You rolled your eyes and marched up to the door mentally preparing for what waits behind.
It was deja vu.
Your heart raced just as it did when Luffy found his way into your world, your home, the place where you lay your head to sleep at night. Your hand trembled on the knob and suddenly the voices stopped, the only sound you could hear was your erratic breathing and that strange buzz in your head.
“ Y/N… are you going to keep listening from the other side of the door?”

A/N: this is long overdue, you know when I started this page I didn’t think I would have writers block bc I used this as my way to escape from things going on in my life but wow… I’ve been trying to write this chapter for ages, I think it’s mostly bc I’m trying to figure out how to end the story and not drag it too much lol. Why Kuina’s Death Still Unsettles Us?
TW: mention of suicide, references teen/child suicide.
[I read a post about "falling down the stairs" might actually imply death by suicide. Kuina's death always bothered me a bit, and when Shimotsuki Koushiro said to Zoro, humans are fragile, did he really mean our bodies or our hearts? I still wonder. A few months back I had written a fic, a retelling of the events which led to Kuina's fall from the stairs, and I had done a lot of thinking while writing the fic. So all those ideas and thoughts I had then, have been rearranged and put here today.]
Tumblr media
I remember watching the Kuina episode like 19 years back. So for an 11-year-old me, that was it. I was sad that she was gone too soon.
But over the years as I grew up, read the manga and then kept rereading it over and over. I did feel her death was surprisingly given the off-stage treatment that was given to Lady Macbeth! Only an announcement was made of her death, and her face is covered in a piece of cloth! That was too sudden, unlike so many other deaths that followed in the story.
I did brainstorm this over the years, it really felt odd, she was a physically strong 12-year-old girl and as far as I know swordswoman/man have to be good at balancing and footwork, because the art of the sword is about full body movement so her falling down is really really really iffy.
Image from chapter 5
Tumblr media
And if we look at the Dojo architecture, there were no visible storeys to the building, I am sure she didn’t fall off a library step-stool or carpenter’s ladder. Then I found this Tumblr post, by Heeheemugee which said, falling down the stairs is a euphemism for suicide. Which makes sense! Like it totally connects in my head.
Though, sadly, I didn’t find any source to confirm this, as everyone on the internet told me it's untrue. But, you see, “falling down the stairs” is a euphemism which has been used for domestic violence victims, like in my mother tongue, when it's hard to explain to a child what happened to someone who died, we say the person has gone somewhere far, so may be falling down the stairs is more of an undocumented euphemism or an old reference Odachii picked from somewhere— he is known for this!

Another thing we should remember Kuina was onset of puberty, the stress of future, her father’s general view of female body being weaker, and changing bodily features might have plagued her more than we think— since after 1000 chapters we know Zoro’s teacher is likely from Wano, I think internalized and cultural misogyny was at play too.
Teenage and puberty is a vulnerable time, one misstep can lead to drastic actions, so Kuina taking her own life is not farfetched. Because we have young children who are so stressed or vulnerable or suffering that they think ending it is better than enduring it.

What has bothered me the most, is the offstage treatment of her death. I mean—we have seen most of the “characters whose death impacted the main characters' life decisions” die on stage in backstories so far, or we got a proper explanation of why someone is dead. We know Banchina died after an illness, Bellemere was killed by Arlong, Hililuk was poisoned and blew himself up. Only Kuina’s death we didn’t see, and it immediately happened just after both Zoro and Kuina had a heartfelt conversation about becoming the best swordsman/woman in the world!
I guess Oda chose “fell down the stairs” as the series was like 15 chapters till then. Or it maybe as simple as Odachii wanted to wrap Zoro’s backstory fast with typical “dead girl-friend of the grumpy emotionally suppressed lone wolf” to establish Zoro’s narrative as the one who carries the will of others!

Otherwise, we know Eiichiro Oda doesn’t shy away from depicting gruesome, terrifying or horrible deaths which parallels real life issues, he sneaked in a little panel of a grandmother praying and a mother holding a knife with an infant in her arms in Wano arc, because they were starving for days!

Or a pirate in human auction house biting his tongue to escape the humiliation of being sold as a slave!

Hence, I think Kuina’s death doesn’t seem like an accident and feel like something sadder and heavier than we were led to believe.

Chapter 23: The battle
The man sitting across from her stared at her in silence. The red eyes were the only visible part of his body. He was entirely covered in black leather clothes and his face was obscured by a leather mask.
His huge body towered over her and made her feel small, the giant black wings only amplified the effect. But the most off putting was the flame burning on his back.
She came to Onigashima with several other girls to entertain at the Beast Pirates’ party.
The moment she set foot on the island she was led away from the other courtesans.
She was guided to a huge sitting room with tatami matts and two portale tables, one small and one huge. They were both laden with alcohol, but not sake. It was rum, vodka, gin, cognac and tequila.
She hoped she wasn't expected to drink all of it. She could drink just fine but a mix like that would make her pray to the porcelain gods for hours.
She kept her head bowed and waited until the huge man would say anything, but he took his time and she grew bored.
What was the deal with men in Wano and the silent treatment?
She raised her head and met his gaze. He was staring at her anyway, so fuck the pleasantries.
"Is there anything I can do for you, my lord?"
"I was told you were searching for me," his voice was a lot smoother than she expected from a man with his reputation.
"I am searching for my father," Rage replied with slightly creased brows. "My mother was not a petite woman but she wouldn't be able to accomodate a man of your stature."
He looked at her like she was stupid.
"Don't play dumb with me, if you want to live," he stated as if he was giving her an advice.
She arched a brow. "Fine."
"Show me the scars."
She was expecting it, so she wore her kimono loosely and skipped a few layers. She turned around and pulled her arms from the abundant sleeves. The garment fell from her shoulders and pooled around her waist.
There were two vertical scars on her back, designed to suggest that a pair of wings was once cut off from her back.
"When did this happen?" he asked in an icy tone.
She imagined he was displeased with the idea of losing his precious wings. She would gladly be the one to chop them off for him.
"I have no memory of the incident that gave me the scars and my mother never spoke about it. May I cover myself?"
"You may."
She pulled her clothes on and turned to face him.
"I've heard you can fight," he mentioned casually. "Show me."
The door to the room slid open and several men walked in. They were all gifters, their bodies were modified by the artificial devil fruits.
So he wanted her to fight them. She had no problem with that. She pulled on the decorative belt and dropped it to the ground along with the opulent outer layer of the kimono.
Apparently the Beast Pirates were planning to fight her one on one, but she had other plans.
She summoned haki to her arms and legs and with extra speed she jumped between them. She punched the first one underneath the sternum. He bent in half, she drove an elbow into the back of his head and threw a kick behind her, striking another pirate underneath the chin. His head snapped back and he almost fell down.
She didn't have time to follow up. She had to spin away and block a punch thrown at her middle. She intercepted the arm and with all her strength she dropped to the ground. There was a loud snap and the arm gave under her hold, twisting unnaturally.
The gifter roared with anger and threw her against a wall. She spun in the air so she wouldn't crash. Instead she pumped haki into her feet and pushed from the wall with extra speed.
She crashed into the gifter, her fist aimed at the bridge of his nose. They both crashed against the opposite wall. The bone under her first cracker and blond spilled all over the pirate's face. She followed with another bone crunching punch and stepped back. His body sagged and started sliding to the floor so she helped him get down faster with a kick to the top of his head.
She spun around and went all out on the rest of the gifters.
She didn't pull her punches or hide her speed and strength, there wasn't any time to play the long game.
Kin'nemon's plan was already in motion, miraculously unhindered by Luffy's stupidity. In three weeks the revolution would start. The Red Scabbards would try to overthrow the shogun and take down Kaido. She had limited time to find and secure her target. If the alliance succeeded she'd have more time to reach her goal. But if the revolution failed, she'd have to act quickly.
Soon she was standing amongst broken and bloodied bodies. Her clothes and hands were smeared with blood. She wiped her hands in the fur of one of the pirates and sat opposite King. She reached for the nearest bottle and took a drink. It was tequila and she feigned a cringe at the beverage. It was a lot stronger than Wano's alcohol. As a person born and raised in Wano she wouldn't be accustomed to drinking such strong liquor.
The taste brought back memories of wild parties. She missed having fun at a club.
"I see you don't pull your punches," King's voice broke the silence.
She caught his gaze with a crooked smile.
"Was I supposed to go easy on them?"
He didn't answer, just stared at her.
"You would just send stronger men to fight me. Why bother?"
He looked towards the door and yanked his chin. More people poured into the room to carry out the unconscious gifters.
King motioned his head again, this time at Rage. Someone came closer and stood behind her. Next she new, something cold touched her neck and all her strength fizzled out. Her head hit the floor and her vision swam, distorting the view of King's huge body.
It all went away as quickly as it happened when the cold thing pressing on her neck was removed.
"So you are a devil fruit user," King's voice reverberated through the room.
She pulled herself up to a sitting position. Her nose caught a whiff of a strange smell and she tensed up.
She turned her head and saw a broad chest covered in coarse hair and clad in a black kimono. Her eyes traveled up and met a cruel gaze of deep set beady eyes.
It was the fucker who hurt Yoshiko.
He was holding a baton covered in sea stone.
She let disassociation fall over her to cut off the burning fury that exploded inside her.
She swept her gaze over the goat bastard and dismissed him, turning to King.
"I am not like your men," she declared, her tone calm and even.
"Show me," it was an order.
Like hell I will.
She braced herself for the pain. But she couldn't stop the agonized scream when the transformation began.
It was pure pain of muscles being torn from ligaments and bones being broken.
When the pain subsided it wasn't relief that she felt. No. It was pure resignation. She wanted to curl up and die.
A sudden rush in the bond felt like a slap. Zoro's consciousness became more vivid despite the distance between them.
He prodded angrily like he wanted to say "Stop sulking and get up, you have shit to do."
Alright, alright, stop nagging.
She shoved at the bond and he backed out grumpily.
There was a flash of Law's exasperation, but it vanished as quickly as it appeared.
She took a deep breath and the tension in her body uncoiled. The brief interaction with her mates soothed the anguish caused by the transformation.
She pushed from the floor and coiled her tail to sit on it.
The floor around her was a mess. The table was toppled over. All the bottles were shattered and the liquor was spilled all over the floor. The air reeked of strong spirits.
She disregarded the mess and found King's red gaze. He was staring impassively, but the flame behind his head seemed brighter.
"This is the extent of the magical powers. It's not very useful. The only advantage is that sometimes I don't feel anything. It is very convenient in certain situations."
The silence stretched, while he stared. The flame on his back flared, casting ominous shadows on the walls.
The only sound was the rasping breath of the vile goatman. She wanted to tear out his windpipe so the aggravating sound would stop.
But it would be too quick death for him. She wanted him to suffer for every child whose finger was on the disgusting necklace around his neck.
"You will stay on Onigashima," King declared, disrupting her bloodthirsty thoughts.
"In what capacity my lord?"
"I will accept you as my daughter," he answered and reached to unclasp his mask. He pulled it off and revealed his face.
To Rage's surprise his looks were stunning. His brown skin contrasted with his silvery white hair. The left side of his head was shaved. There was a tattoo covering the skin from his ear to his left eye. He was quite a looker.
"Thank you, my lord," she bowed her head. "May I have a request as your daughter?"
"You don't waste time," he stated dryly, displeased with her words.
Typical of men who abandoned their offspring and didn't feel obliged to make up for years of absence.
He probably thought it was so generous of him to even accept his own child.
"The man standing behind me stole something that wasn't his to take. I would like to take it back."
"And what was that?"
"He raped a child."
"Was it your child?"
"No."
"Then I deny your request. If you want to join Beast Pirates you should get used to men doing whatever they like."
____________________
As soon as he escaped from prison, he headed towards Amigasa Village.
He could sense Zoro was heading in the same direction. So he pulled on the bond in hopes of meeting sooner with the swordsman.
Halfway to the village he met with his crewmates who were on their way to bust him out from the prison. They filled him in on recent developments.
The plan was in place. Straw Hat took over the mines in Udon and the mafia leaders showed up with their underlings. The Straw Hats cook broke out the samurai loyal to the Kozuki clan from shogun's prison. And Zoro stumbled upon a stash of weapons. There were ships being prepared to transport the troops to Onigashima in a few days.
He sent away his crew and promised to meet them the next day.
He knew he should go with them. It was safer, wiser. But he needed to see Zoro, needed to see for himself that the swordsman was alright. He needed to touch his mate, to feel him one last time before they went into battle.
It could be their last chance to be together.
Rage was already gone and out of reach at Onigashima. Right under the enemy's nose.
Every day he was bombarded with her pain, anger, the empty void of detachment. There wasn't even a sliver of her cheeky happiness anymore. It was all hard focus and pain.
He was afraid she wouldn't survive Onigashima. The thought that he wouldn't see her ever again paralyzed him.
He needed Zoro. He needed to see at least one of his mates, feel them, hear their voice.
This wouldn't happen if you weren't so greedy.
He wouldn't feel like this if he never bonded. But he wanted a shortcut and chose to bond to make up for all the time he lost.
And now he was petrified to lose it all.
Because it was the best thing that happened to him in his entire life. He was so greedy he wanted it all to last forever.
"Look who's back, it's the spoiled brat."
In front of one of the run down houses stood Daria, Rage's quack of a medic. As usual she was smoking a cigarette. There were blood stains on her hands and on the loose strands of her green hair.
"Fuck off," Law replied without slowing his stride. "How many patients have you lost today?" He spat out with disgust.
A satisfied smirk crawled on her lips. "Two didn't make it through surgery."
He toyed with the idea of killing her after the whole debacle was over. Rage would be angry for a while, but she would get over it. She didn't have the same relationship with Daria like she had with Mira.
The quack laughed at the death stare he sent her. He walked away, she wasn't worth anymore of his attention.
Zoro was right in front of him, standing beside two beautiful women.
He yanked at the bond and their eyes met.
The swordsman's attention focused on him and everything else didn't matter anymore.
Zoro walked towards him, grabbed him by his wrists and pulled him down the road through the village.
"Toaro! You're here!" Someone shouted to his left. "Where have you been?"
"Later," Zoro snapped in response.
He led Law to a small house on the outskirts of the village. As soon as the door was closed behind them they're lips collided in a hungry kiss.
Law pulled aside the kimono to touch Zoro's skin. He glided his palms over the wide span of the swordsman's chest, reveling in every second of the contact.
He wanted more.
He pulled at the belt and let it fall to the floor. Then he dropped to his knees and took Zoro's cock in his mouth. He didn't tease the swordsman, like he liked to do. This time he swallowed him whole on the first go, greedy for the feeling of the heavy cock stuffing his throat.
Zoro's surprised grunt reverberated in the room, and he grabbed Law's head to slow his movement.
Law obliged him. He wanted Zoro to feel good, he wanted to feel his pleasure in their shared connection.
"I'm going to come," Zoro's strained words reached his ears.
He couldn't decide if he wanted the swordsman to come in his mouth, to taste the cum on his tongue. Or if he'd rather have Zoro come around Law’s cock, while he fucked him into oblivion.
The decision was made for him, when Zoro pulled away with a sharp jerk of his hips.
The swordsman kneeled beside Law and caught his lips in an openmouthed dirty kiss.
Law pushed Zoro to the floor and lodged his hips between his partner's legs. He shoved their erections together and got irritated at his own kimono being in the way of full contact.
He pried his hands from Zoro's skin, yanked his belt off and shook off his kimono.
He pushed his cock against Zoro's, reveling in the contact. Their cocks were dripping with precum that was smeared all over their lengths with every move.
He pushed his tongue into Zoro's mouth, craving more of the swordsman's taste.
He sped up, his movement becoming more frantic. He was enveloped in his mate's scent, had Zoro’s taste on his tongue and could feel his warm skin and hard cock.
The bond was wide open, they felt everything together. It was but a moment until they'd drown in pleasure.
Strong legs wrapped around his lower back to still his hips. Zoro's arms pushed at his shoulders, disengaging their mouths.
Law almost whined at the loss.
Zoro's green eye pinned him with a firm stare.
"Slow down," Zoro uttered, framing Law's face with his hands. "We have time, so fuck me properly."
Law took several calming breaths, pushing down the frantic neediness. "Ok."
Zoro smirked and tipped his head to give Law a kiss so soft he would never expect it from the swordsman.
Zoro let go of Law’s face and reached into the opulent sleeves of his kimono.
Next he knew, Law was handed a small bottle of lube and a condom.
He smiled at his lover with appreciation.
His own supplies were taken away after he was searched by Hawkins' minions before they threw him into a cell.
He threw the crinkling rectangle to the floor and uncapped the lube. He coated his fingers generously and smeared the lube around Zoro's hole. Pushing the lube inside his ass with one finger.
Zoro grunted and rotated his hips so Law had better access to his ass. The swordsman’s cock rested against his abs, weeping precum profusely.
Law reached with his free hand and stroked the thick cock. He smeared the precum over the tanned skin, reveling in the glistening shine it gave to Zoro's abs.
He caught Zoro's gaze before adding another finger. The swordsman's face was flushed with arousal. Zoro’s gaze lost focus when another finger stretched his ass. He threw his head back with a grunt, exposing the thick column of his throat.
Law leaned to lick his Adam's apple and suck on the heated skin, leaving red marks all over Zoro's throat. He added another finger and felt the vibrations of Zoro's moan under his lips. He bit into the thick muscle on Zoro's neck.
The swordman's desperate moan vibrated again and a strong hand grabbed the back of Law's head.
"Don't bite," Zoro sounded breathless. "I'll come if you do that again."
Law licked the bitten skin.
He twisted his fingers and his fingertips brushed Zoro's prostate.
The swordsman's immense pleasure shot through the bond. Law grunted, pushing down his own orgasm. He removed his fingers swiftly.
With the other hand he reached for Zoro's face to look him in the eye.
"I don't want the condom. I want to feel you on my cock with nothing between us. I want to pump you with my cum," he rasped with need.
A sharp smile stretched Zoro’s lips. "Do it."
Law caught his lips in a brief wet kiss. Then he smeared lube on his cock and pressed the tip against Zoro's loosened ass. He held Zoro's gaze when he slowly pushed inside.
Zoro's lips parted and intense satisfaction flooded the bond. The swordsman's gaze lost focus, but he didn't break eye contact.
Law was fully inside and he had to take a few breaths to gather his wits. He was enveloped in tight warmth that squeezed around him when Zoro clenched his muscles. The sensation was overwhelming. The bond was sucking him in, merging his pleasure with Zoro's. He wanted to feel more, remember more, so he pulled from the bond enough to think clearly.
Holding Zoro's gaze he moved his hips several times at an agonizingly slow pace. He slid his arms under Zoro's shoulders and with a sharp snap he buried himself deep inside the swordsman.
A guttural moan escaped Zoro's lips and he threw his head back, his earrings clinking together.
Law continued his slow but deep thrusts. Each time reveling in how tight and hot Zoro felt around his cock.
He reached to tilt Zoro's head so he could watch his lover's expression every time he was speared with Law’s cock. He loved the wanton sounds that were leaving Zoro's lips. He was the reason for the sounds and he basked in every moan.
"Law," Zoro grunted after another deep thrust. He grabbed Law's hips and pushed them forcefully, adding force to another thrust.
It was Law's turn to let out a strangled moan.
Zoro pushed on Law’s hips again. He let the swordsman control the force of the thrusts for a while.
But enough was enough.
He pulled from the firm grasp and withdrew his cock.
Zoro was opening his mouth to voice his protest but Law flipped him face down.
He straddled the swordsman’s tights and spread his ass cheeks to shove his cock into the gaping hole.
He moved his hips languidly, his cock burying shallowly inside Zoro's ass.
He enjoyed the view of Zoro's naked back. The muscles flexed exquisitely every time Law pushed forward.
"Stop teasing," Zoro scolded while twisting his head to look at Law. "Fuck me like you mean it."
"You said we had time," Law kneaded Zoro's firm buttocks then grabbed his waist and thrust deeper. "I rather enjoy the view."
He moved his hands over Zoro's back.
"Enjoy the view when we're all spent."
He could sense Zoro's impatience in the bond.
He leaned down and threaded his fingers through Zoro's hair, grabbing it by the root.
"Ok," he breathed against Zoro's ear.
His chest molded against Zoro's back. With the changed angle his cock was buried deep into the swordsman's clenching ass.
Without any warning he started trusting fast and hard, fucking Zoro into the floor.
The swordsman grunted with appreciation. Then let out a breathless moan when Law sank his teeth into the juncture of his neck and shoulder.
Pleasure exploded in the bond. Law clenched his teeth harder and pumped his hips faster. He pushed against the pleasure in the bond, blocking their orgasm with sheer willpower.
Zoro's fingers scraped against the floor as he writhed under Law. His mind was enveloped in mindless lust constrained by Law's will.
He pushed his hands under Zoro's chest and with one strong move he pulled them both to a kneeling position.
Zoro's swollen cock jutted forward, swinging heavily in the air and dripping precum.
Law wrapped his fingers around the weeping cock, stroking it in the same pace he fucked Zoro's ass.
He bit again into Zoro's heated skin and let go of his grip in the bond.
The constrained pleasure rushed with the force of a shockwave.
He forgot how to breathe, who he was, where he was.
They were one, molded together by the raging wave of overwhelming ecstasy that had no end and no beginning. It was bliss and pain of their bodies violently clenching in simultaneous release.
Their cocks pumped their seed all over their hand and inside them, filling them up.
They crumbled together to the floor, unable to stay upright. Their muscles suddenly too weak to support their bodies.
They laid on the tatami matts, their bodies and minds connected. They didn't try to move or talk, it was unnecessary. Everything they needed to know was in the bond. The satisfied, warm and sated feeling swirled lazily within them, filling them with happiness and love.
The feeling of unity subsided gradually, until Law became conscious of his surroundings. Warm light of the setting sun penetrated the room with its golden glow.
He nuzzled his nose in Zoro's hair, inhaling the swordsman’s scent.
He pulled his cock out and rolled Zoro's boneless body so he could look at the swordsman's face.
He wanted to express what he felt with words but when their gazes connected he realized he didn't need to. Zoro already knew, they both felt it in the bond.
Law leaned down and captured Zoro's lips in a tender kiss.
The anxiety he felt on his way to the village was all gone. Wiped by Zoro's strong belief in their victory.
"We're going to survive this," Law whispered against the swordsman's lips. "And we're going to be together."
He felt Zoro's smirk. In a split second he was sprawled on the floor with the swordsman's broad body pinning him down.
"We will win," Zoro declared with a sharp smirk and caught Law's lips in a firm kiss.
And then fervent shouting carried through the village.
"Luffy!"
Thrilled voices called Straw Hat's name only to be drowned in overjoyed laughter.
"Your captain's here," Law mumbled into the kiss.
"Mhm," Zoro hummed and deepened the kiss, preventing Law from speaking.
They cleaned themselves the best they could with the small amount of water they found in the house. They put on their clothes and went out to meet with the Straw Hat's captain.
Alarm bells rang in his head the moment the center of the village came into view.
Rage's crewmates were standing in a loose circle around the crowd that came to greet Luffy.
Law scanned the crowd in search of Rage's first mate.
She was sitting nonchalantly on a wooden box in front of one of the houses. Mira was casually leaning behind Kisa with her legs crossed at the ankles.
Before Rage went back to Flower Capital she healed Mira's injuries. Law used his powers to provide her with a new leg. He didn't ask who the person donating their leg was or if they were doing it willingly.
He needed to put down Rage's idea of killing Luffy, so he was inclined to look the other way this one time.
It seemed Mira was adjusting well to the new limb. Rage was happy to see her walk. And hopefully the murder plan was tanked.
Or so he thought.
By the looks of it, Rage's crew didn't get the memo and they were preparing an attack.
Law pushed through the circle of women and made a large room to signal he wouldn't be putting up with any of their shit.
"What do you think you're doing?" He addressed Kisa.
Penguin told him that the woman came back with one of the mafia bosses she was assigned to. After she showed up she immediately took control of her crew as the first mate.
"Everyone wanted to meet the golden boy," she replied, giving Law a scrutinizing once over then did the same to Zoro. A faint smirk pulled at the corner of her lips.
"Hey!" Straw Hat stood in front of Mira. "You're the one who tried to help me when Kaido knocked me down. Thank you and I'm sorry you lost your leg."
He stood still, his eyes fixed on Mira.
She pushed from the wall and offered him her hand.
"I will forgive you if you'll win Rage back," she said with a smile. "And bond with her."
He didn't make any move for a while, just stared at Mira. Then he shook her hand.
"It's a deal."
A loud snicker sounded on the street.
"He'll never make it," the crazy blond girl, Annika, laughed. "Once Rage hates someone, that bitch is as good as dead."
"Shut your mouth," Zoro snapped in response.
"What's so special about him anyway?" Jessie, the mechanic asked. "He looks like he has two brain cells left that can't find each other in his empty head."
"Hey! Watch your mouth!" Several of the Straw Hats protested.
"He's not even good looking and he's short," Daria joined in, her hair was still stained with dried blood. "I bet he has a small dick too."
"He can inflate," Zoro drawled and gave Daria the bird.
"What the fuck moss head for brains!" The Straw Hats' cook protested. "Have you ever heard of the term TMI?"
"Shut up, stupid cook," Zoro rolled his eyes.
"Oh, so he's bi!" Annika laughed again. "Then he could be stupid, short, have a small dick and Rage would still fuck him. She has a soft spot for bi boys."
Law glanced at Luffy, who watched everything with one brow raised.
He nudged Zoro's side with his elbow. "Why are we talking about my dick in front of everyone?"
A bout of sinister laughter rolled around the village's center.
A sharp whistle shot through the air. "Ok, ladies, enough of the friendly banter. Gather up, we have some introductions to do."
At Kisa's order the women moved to stand together.
Law noticed there were only a few of them still missing. Makonde and two of the dark skinned silent women were nowhere to be seen.
Kisa remained sitting on the wooden box with Mira standing silently beside her.
"Straw Hat Luffy, let me introduce Rage's bounty hunting crew The Raging Witches."
All their gazes were focused on Luffy like he was a target to eliminate with extreme prejudice.
"Hey," Luffy raised his hand in greeting like he was oblivious to the death stares.
"Sanji," Kisa turned to the blond cook. "Rage wanted me to make a special introduction."
The cook looked surprised and Kisa waved towards her crew. The woman parted and Veronica walked to the front.
She was clad in skin tight leather pants and a corset. Her auburn hair fell in opulent waves on her naked shoulders. She was stunning as always.
"Veronica, this is Blackleg Sanji, second highest bounty of the Straw Hat Pirates. He is an excellent cook and the  third son of the Vinsmoke family," Kisa's voice broke the silence. "Sanji, this is Veronica Fanucci, a sole heiress to Fanucci crime family. She is a real mafia princess, soon to be a queen of the West Blue crime world."
Veronica walked up to the cook with an enticing swing to her hips. Sanji seemed to be frozen in the spot, his cigarette laying on the ground by his feet.
"It's nice to meet you," she greeted in a rich, melodic voice and leaned in to give the cook air kisses on both sides on his face.
Anger vibrated on Zoro's end of the bond. Law glanced at the swordsman, who was glaring daggers at Kisa.
"I'm in love," the cook blurted out suddenly.
The bond erupted with fury.
The woman chuckled melodically. "How very forward of you Vinsmoke Sanji."
"I'm not a Vinsmoke," the cook shot back with a firm tone.
"That's alright. I can give you my family's name," Veronica offered in a charming manner.
The cook reeled back, disbelief painted on his face. "Are you asking me to marry you?" Unease was clear in the cook's voice.
"Yes, darling. However I need to make it very clear, I will require both a husband and a wife. Me and my wife would need to give birth to at least one child each. Also as the head of the crime family I would require my husband's full support in maintaining my position. If you find my conditions agreable, I would be delighted to have you as my male spouse."
Zoro was seething and Luffy's eyes were obscured by the rim of his hat.
But the cook melted.
The proposal was a dream come true for someone so focused on chasing women. He would be marrying not one stunningly beautiful woman, but two. Two women who he was supposed to fuck and breed.
"No," came a loud statement from Luffy, who was glaring at Kisa.
"The offer was not meant for you, Luffy," she brushed him off  with a tone meant for a small child. "You want to bond for life with Rage. Don't you want something similar for your nakama?"
"He doesn't know her at all."
"Veronica and Rage have a lot in common. You wanted Rage from the moment you met her and insisted on a lifelong commitment just after a week. Why would you deny Sanji a similar experience?"
Law didn't approve of the whole situation but he was impressed. She had Luffy in the palm of her hand. Either he could protest and admit that bonding with Rage was a reckless decision. But then he would break his promise to Mira. Or he could step down, giving in to the manipulation. Either way, she had him.
"Bullshit," Zoro snarled, his voice seething with anger. "If Rage and the walking doll are so alike, why does the cook get the opportunity to be a father and we don't?"
Law would smile at the swordsman's brilliance, if it wasn't for Kisa's satisfied smile.
"Because Sanji is so much different from both of you. He vowed never to hit or harm women. You can't say the same about yourselves. I've seen marks on Rage's skin that you left. Would you ever hit your woman, Sanji?"
The cook snapped his head towards Kisa. "I would never do that."
There was a wave of chuckling from Rage’s crew, the tones varied from dark, to amused to pearly giggles. Some of the women were eyeying the cook like a toy they just couldn't wait to play with.
"She asked for those brui-" Zoro's protest was cut short by dirt exploding in the spot where Sanji was standing.
The cook landed a few feet away, managing to avoid the blast, but had to dodge blades flying at his chest. He stepped to the side, managing to pick one of the blades from the air.
"That's mine," a woman with crimson hair jumped in front of the cook, raising her hand for the blade.
She was so thin and pale she seemed delicate, her slick hair was brushed back reaching only the nape of her neck. Her yellow eyes seemed to be too big for her slim face and the sharp smile could match Zoro's most feral grin. Everything about her screamed danger.
"Please don't throw it at me again, miss." The cook answered, presenting her the knife handle first.
"Ok," she smiled even wider while slipping the knife in a holster strapped to her tight. Then launched an rapid kick at the cook, followed by another when he jumped back.
She was a flurry of movement, throwing punches and kicks with vicious force and precision. Her fighting style was similar to Rage's, but she didn't get blank and impersonal like Rage did. This woman was emanating killing intent so thick it was unnerving even for Law.
The cook was dodging most of her attacks, but didn't even make an attempt to block her. Which was a glaring mistake. When the first punch landed she seemed to gain speed and viciousness, like a shark smelling blood.
Law glanced towards Kisa. The woman was following the fight with a stoic expression, her body at ease.
She caught Law's gaze. "Don't interfere," she warned. "Mira might have forgiven Straw Hat, but the rest of the crew did not. There needs to be blood spilled for them to even consider working together again."
Law grit his teeth. This wasn't an easy situation to handle. Luffy did make a huge mistake. If making amends meant one of his crew got roughed up it was a low price to pay.
Zoro's side of the bond became deathly still. The swordsman was standing by Luffy's side, his hand on the hilt of his sword, ready to jump into the fight.
There was a strangled grunt coming from the cook and Law looked back to the fight.
The woman delivered a fist to the cook's sternum. The force of the blow threw him back. He found his footing and was gone in a blink of an eye. He appeared a second later, high above them, hovering in the air.
The feral woman vanished the moment she spotted him. She appeared behind the cook with a kick aimed to his head. She struck him and he crashed into the ground. She followed him down with a knife in hand.
The cook threw out his hand to block the blade. It sliced right through his palm, sinking up to the handle.
Blood splattered on the cook's face. The woman grinned manically and reached for another blade.
She went flying, tackled by Luffy's steaming body.
The Straw Hat's captain sprang after her. He knocked her into the ground with a sickening sound of shattering bones. Luffy grabbed her by the collar and yanked her up with a loud sneer.
"Don't go after Sanji ever again," he growled.
He punched her in the face so hard she was thrown back with another sound of breaking bones. She landed motionless, right by Kisa's feet.
The first mate didn't move an inch, as if she wasn't fazed with her teammate being injured. She reached into the sleeve of her kimono and produced a swirling ball of energy. One of Rage's healing techniques.
Kisa passed the ball to Veronica.
"Give this to Sanji, so he can heal."
The leather clad woman obliged without a word, she took the ball and brought it to the cook. She kneeled on the ground by his side and offered him the ball with a gentle smile.
The cook looked mesmerized. He reached out with his injured hand, the knife still lodged in his palm.
Veronica grabbed the handle and yanked the blade out without an ounce of hesitation. Then she pushed the swirling ball into the wound, lacing her fingers with Sanji's.
The cook's body tensed and a strained grunt escaped him. He leaned forward with gritted teeth and his free hand squeezed into a tight fist. But the hand laced with Veronica's didn’t even twitch.
Then it was all over and the cook was panting with relief.
"That was impressive," Veronica praised in her rich voice. "You are perfect. I hope you will consider my proposal."
She brought his bloodied hand to her lips and placed a tender kiss on his knuckles. Then she pulled him up and made sure he could stand on his own. She released his hand and with a last smile walked away to stand with her crew.
"You went too far," Luffy spoke, steam still swirling angrily around him. "I'm the one at fault. If you want revenge, beat me up, not my nakama."
"But then you wouldn't understand how Rage felt when Mira was crippled. It's another level of pain when your nakama get hurt because of you," she answered, unbothered by his anger. "Isn't that right Kira?" She spoke to the woman on the ground.
One glance was enough for Law to know that the feral woman had most of her ribs broken. She was fighting for every gulp of air. Half of her face was disfigured and bleeding from the force of the punch. One of her eyes was already swollen shut.
"I didn't punch her that hard," Luffy admitted with a deep frown. He stood next to Zoro, his body was back to normal.
"She has fragile bones," Kisa explained without turning her gaze from the woman by her feet. "That's enough, Kira. Get up."
The redhead let out a wet gurgle that sounded like a morbid chuckle. She rolled to her side, put her hands on the ground and pushed herself to a sitting position. Her chest had an unnatural shape.
Law's instincts screamed to go help the injured woman. She could have a ruptured or collapsed lung. Her ribs were broken and dislocated, it could cause more injuries if she moved around. She could have a concussion. The swelling over her eye could cause optic nerve damage. He couldn't just stand and watch.
There was a ripple over the woman's rib cage, like something was moving under her skin. With a series of loud snaps her chest regained a healthy shape.
The redhead pushed her body up, standing jerkily to her feet.
"Fix your face," Kisa ordered.
The rippling of skin was caused by bone snapping into place. The edges of her broken skin were knitting together, the swelling going down in a manner of seconds.
The woman looked exactly the same as she did before attacking the cook. The only difference was blood smeared all over her face.
Her lips stretched in a feral grin.
Law's skin crawled after the morbid show. "Are you a devil fruit user?"
The woman slowly turned her head from right to left, her intense gaze focused on Law.
Mira took a step forward. "Kira can heal really fast and she doesn't feel pain. She's a perfect decoy. An enemy thinks he took her down, he turns his back on a broken woman lying on the ground and he gets stabbed in the kidney."
"You are all insane," Law spat with disgust.
"That may be true," Kisa replied, standing tall. "But we get the job done without stupid mistakes."

"Drink up old man, you're falling behind!" She knocked her bottle of sake against a barrel that stood in front of her.
"I should throw you into the dungeon for your insolence, you brat," Kaido rumbled without any heat in his voice. A crooked smile stretched on his face.
"You wouldn't, I'm your best drinking buddy," she replied with a wide grin and took a long drink from the bottle. Her powers were amped to flush the alcohol from her system as quickly as possible.
Kaido snickered then grabbed the barrel and drank all its contents in one go.
"That's more like it, grampa!" She yelled, then turned to the other pirates. "Hey, sing that song about the ugly whores!"
King put down his bottle with a loud thud. "Behave yourself!" he scolded. "Act like a proper woman of your status."
"But daddy," he pouted theatrically, "I'm a courtesan born and raised. I did all those things from the song. Are you ashamed of me?"
King's jaw clenched so hard she could hear his teeth grinding over the music.
Kaido’s laughter boomed in the hall.
"Don't aggravate your father, brat. Didn't you learn your lesson from last time?"
She was covered in stitches and bandages. Her ribs hurt every time she took a breath and the pain got even worse when she laughed. The slash on her right cheek stung when she spoke.
It was the effect of the ‘attitude training’ King put her through after she talked back to him.
She suspected he also had an ulterior motive. He wanted her to get stronger. His daughter had to match Kaido's son.
"I'll take whatever comes my way," she winked at King. "I'd rather die than submit to a man's will."
That seemed to strike a chord. Both Kaido and King looked at her with an ominous glint in their eyes.
"But, I will make an exception for Yamato. He is fine as hell," she gazed dreamily towards the door then looked at Kaido with a wide grin. "Hey, gramps, give me your blessing to marry Yamato!"
Kaido roared with laughter.
"Didn't you have a fight?"
"Nah, he was just upset he missed the last orgy. I'll make it up to him."
"What orgy?!" A throbbing vein popped on King's temple.
"Don't get angry at me, daddy. You said men on this crew do whatever they want and I should get used to it. So I didn't stop them," she shrugged and drank the rest of her sake. She didn’t let any of the vile pirates touch her, but she did orchestrate a splendid orgy for them.
She braced for King to hit her, but it didn't heppen.
The large doors were thrown open. Shackled Charlotte Linlin was brought into the room by Queen and his man.
Rage's eyes grew big in surprise and her heart skipped a beat.
She heard that Big Mom's ship approached Wano, but King struck it down and it toppled from the waterfall.
Why was Big Mom alive? Why was she here?
"So you've shown your face here at last, Linlin," Kaido rumbled, reaching for his bagua.
"Kaido," she greeted with an ugly grin. "How many decades has it been?"
Kaido his subordinates an angry look. "What are you doing? Take the chains off her!"
The Beast Pirates hesitated. They all looked like they were going to piss their pants. Even Queen looked stressed as fuck.
The moment Big Mom was unshackled she took the sword from her hat.
Both eprerors launched at each other. Their unleashed haki clashed furiously with an ear splitting roar.
The amount of power made Rage freeze in place. Her throat went dry and her heart dropped.
She never felt this much power at once.
The whole island shook as the fighting continued. Thunder rolled through the sky whenever Kaido and Big Mom clashed.
Rage followed their every move, analyzing and searching for weak points.
The fight continued through the night until it came to an abrupt stop. The emperors came to an unexpected agreement to form an alliance to conquer the world.
Kaido and Big Mom sat together while eating and drinking like they were the best of friends.
At one point Big Mom asked King to join her crew. She managed to gather almost all of the world’s races in Toto Land. Only three were missing, Lunarians being one of them and King was the last one of his kind.
He denied her request on the spot without any hesitation, even when she threatened him.
"And who is this little girl?" Big Mom asked with an ominous shine in her eyes.
Rage almost choked on her sake. She was sitting by King's side, hoping to appear insignificant next to his huge form. She wanted to sit in to hear the conversation but she didn't want to be a part of it.
"That brat is King's kid," Kaido supplied between gulps of sake.
Big Mom pursed her fat lips while scrutinizing Rage with her watery eyes.
"She reminds me of someone. Come closer child."
Rage didn't want to go anywhere near the monstrous woman. But she couldn't afford to appear weak and fearful in front of all these pirates.
She stood in front of Big Mom and looked the woman in the eye with a polite smile.
The woman extended her huge arm and brushed Rage's hair from her face. The touch was surprisingly gentle.
"I've seen you somewhere," she stated, her gaze glued to Rage's face.
"She's a splitting image of her mother," Kaido put down his empty bottle. "The Queen of Sin City."
Rage froze. All blood drained from her face and her breath caught in her lungs.
They knew who she was. Her cover was blown.
"She's the rumored princess of Sin City? The one who was saved by the Straw Hats and Trafalgar Law?" Big Mom brushed Rage's face with a fat finger like she was petting an award winning dog. "Then why did you call her King's daughter?"
A nasty smirk appeared on Kaido’s face. "She came undercover acting as King's bastard daughter, born to one of Wano's whores. Ironically, her real mother slept around so much there's no telling who her real father is. It might as well be King." Kaido took another gulp of sake. "I already have several supernovas under my command. Straw Hat and Eustass Kid are in my prison. It's a matter of time until they'll break and become my underlings. Same with her."
So they played along with the sharade because they wanted her to serve Kaido.
Big Mom made a displeased sound. "Don't be so greedy, Kaido," she shoved a huge piece of meat with a bone into her mouth. She turned her vicious eyes to Rage while she chewed. The bone crunching sound bounced from the walls of the huge dining hall. "So you are one of the Naga. Come to Toto Land, I'd love you to marry one of my children."
A shove in the bond yanked her from the stunned stupor.
"Only one? Sorry lady, but I don't do monogamy," she answered with a weak attempt at a grin.
Big Mom grinned and she patted Rage's cheek.
"A girl after my own heart. Is it true that Naga's link their minds with other people?"
"Yeah, we can do that with as many people as we want and make them obey us." Rage replied with a pleasant smile.
"So where are yours?"
"Why would I need any? I have my own crew that's loyal to death."
"She's bonded with Roronoa Zoro and Trafalgar Law," King replied flatly.
Alarm bells rang in Rage's head. There was a traitor in the alliance!
"So you're here to fight Kaido with the little rebellion?" Big Mom laughed and patted the top of Rage's head.
Rage snorted and smiled wickedly at the huge woman. "Haven't you heard? I was pardoned by the Marines. My wanted poster was recalled and I was granted a bounty hunter's license."
She glanced at Kaido, who stopped drinking and scrutinized her through squinted eyes.
So they didn't have all the information. That was good.
"So what are you doing here pretending to be a common whore?" Kaido asked.
She shrugged and gave him a wide smile. "You're losing your edge old man," she ducked to avoid King's slap. "I'm new to this bounty hunter's game so I'm after easy money and quick fame. Whoever fails, I'll be taking their heads to cash in the bounty."
Big Mum laughed. "You are very brave and very stupid, girl."
"My mom says the same about me," Rage wiggled her brows at the huge woman, making her laugh even louder.
The laughter suddenly stopped and Big Mom looked at her with a wicked smile. "But you made a mistake allying with Straw Hat."
She reached for her giant sword and raised it above her head to strike at Rage.
"You're mistaken," Rage added quickly. "I want Straw Hat Luffy dead."
She poured all her hatred for Luffy into the words and it seemed to pique Big Mom's interest.
"I sense an interesting story," Big Mom put down her sword and reached for her sake. "Tell me, what did he do that you want to betray his little alliance?"
"He betrayed me first."

She was thrown into a cell, shackled and collared. The sea stone cuffs suppressed her powers and she couldn't heal her injuries.
She was forced to fight one pirate after the other for Kaido's and Big Mom's amusement. If she wasn't putting a maximum effort into giving them a show she would be severely punished. And that fucking bagua delivered a mean blow.
She wasn't given much food except for a watery soup and a half bowl of rice.
She was exhausted. She wanted to sleep, but the guards made sure to wake her up every time she nodded off. When she was so exhausted she didn't wake up to their shouting, they threw seawater on her. So she was curled up in her cell, shivering, weary to the bone and the salty water got into her wounds and stung.
She tried to send a message through the bond to Zoro and Law, but they didn't know the signal. It was the sole time when she regretted breaking the bond with Kisa. Kisa knew the code, five quick pulses through the bond was a signal for being compromised. Three tugs and a burst of power meant traitor.
Why didn't she teach this to her other mates? It was a deplorable neglect on her part.
She was lost in self hatred and went through the darkest possible scenarios.
She didn't notice when the guards left and Yamato was standing on the other side of the cell door.
"Rage," he called. "Your real name is Rage, right?"
She sat up and stared, sniffing the air. There was only Yamato in the jail block.
"Yeah, I'm Rage D. Veshti," she croaked, her throat was dry and sore. "What do you want?"
"You don't look so good," Yamato stated the obvious without any concern in his voice.
"No shit. Let me out and I'll get better really fast."
Yamato threw her a careful look.
"Was it true what you said to Kaido? That you will side with whoever wins?"
Laughter bubbled in her chest. "Did they send you to soften me up and confess to my ulterior motifs?"
"Answer me, Rage," Yamato's tone was demanding. But there was something in his beautiful eyes that made her pause.
"Why should I trust Kaido's son?"
Yamato raised his arm. There was a silver cuff around his wrist.
"Do you see this? If I try to leave Onigashima the cuffs on my wrists will explode. Kaido didn't want me to run away and fight for Wano's freedom."
"Why would you want to fight for Wano?"
Yamato looked her firmly in the eyes.
"I was there when Kaido killed Oden. I detest my father and I will become the next Oden to free and protect this country."
Rage leaned her head against the wall and closed her eyes. She expected Yamato to be so much more than another Oden's fanatic. This beautiful trans man with stunning looks quickly caught her attention. She went out of her way to befriend him. He was skilled and powerful but in the end he was another deluded idiot.
"I will fight Kaido, I never planned for anything else," she admitted without opening her eyes.
Something hit the floor next to her thigh and a clanging noise reverberated from the walls.
She snapped her head and opened her eyes.
Her cell door was wide open and Yamato held the bars.
"Hurry up then, your friends are here," he jerked his chin towards the floor next to Rage.
There was a key next to her leg.
She grabbed it and got her shackles off.
The swell of power made her feel much better. She healed the most serious injuries. But she didn't have enough juice to heal herself completely.
For a second she pondered if she should drain Yamato, just to be safe. But after looking at the beautiful man she couldn't bring herself to harm him. She decided to go with her gut feeling and trust Yamato.
"Do you have a key for the collar?" She asked when she walked out of her cell.
"If I had that I would take off my wristbands," he declared with a shake of his head. "The Red Scabbards and their allies are heading to fight Kaido. But Kaido has all his troops gathered here for the feast. The difference in numbers doesn't play in our favor."
"How many Beast Pirates are here?"
"Fifty thousand."
That was a lot. She was counting on some of the troops to be taken down before the Fire Festival. Her girls should have already implemented several plans to mass murder the grunts. Either they didn't succeed or there weren't as many dead as she hoped for.
"So what's the plan?" she asked Yamato.
"We'll join the Red Scabbards and we will eliminate as many Kaido men as possible on our way."
"Works for me," Rage cracked her neck and ran after Yamato.
She grabbed several men on the way to the ground floor of the castle. Her strength was replenished but she was still hungry. Her reaction time was slower than usual due to being sleep deprived.
The hormones could get her a boost of energy, but she wanted to leave that for the time she really needed it.
Then the battle begun. The shouting of charging men, guns and cannons being fired, the screams of pain. Explosions shook the castle walls.
She used Conqueror’s Haki to put down as many grunts as possible, then she went after the ones still standing.
She pumped haki into her attack. She struck the first grunt standing in front of her and his body exploded. She covered her face before she was showered in blood, chunks of tissue, bones and the contents of intestines. The stench was abysmal and she regretted using the stupid technique.
She blew a hole in another guy's chest. It looked like an entry wound of a large caliber bullet. Innocent looking entry point in the front and minced meat at the exit point. At least the shit was blown away from her.
She needed to get rid of the collar, it could blow her head off at any moment.
She let out her haki to put down all the beast pirates around her. She closed her eyes and focused all her haki at the one task. One swift pull and the collar was off her neck and flying through the air, right at the new batch of pirates coming her way. It exploded and when the dust settled the corridor was painted red. Some of the pirates were screaming in pain. The one closest to her was waving his arm in the arm, it was squirting blood from blown off hand.
"How did you do that?" Yamato landed beside her, his eyes wide in shock. The chains on his cuffs dangled around his legs.
"Magic," Rage replied dismissively. She had no desire to pull off Yamato's cuffs. He was Kaido's son after all. It was better to be safe than sorry, especially when there was a battle raging all around them.
They made their way forward, Yamato guiding them through the castle. Every now and then the pirates called out to Yamato, urging him to fight on their side.
Rage could sense Zoro and Law, but they weren't in the same place. Law was at the back of the island, while Zoro was close by at the front of the castle.
She followed the pull, ignoring Yamato's calls. She ran into the castle’s live floor, where the fighting seemed the most intense.
There were the samurai, the yakuza, some of the Straw Hat's and her girls! She spotted Zoro the moment when he was hauled into the air by Marco the Phoenix. The swordsman disappeared into a hole in the ceiling. Marco was attacked by a giant pterodactyl.
King.
A shiny object jetting through the air grabbed her attention.
She jumped on the banister, balancing on the crumbling stone, right above the fray. She unleashed her Conqueror's haki in one short burst.
The signal worked and Reid's shinny surfboard was speeding her way. Rage jumped on the board and grabbed onto Reid.
"Take me to the team," she ordered and a few seconds later they landed behind the fighting women. They were lined up in an offensive formation, working together to take out as many opponents as possible.
Makonde and Kisa were right by her side, the moment the board touched the ground.
"Do you have any food?" was the first question that flew out of her mouth.
She was handed two protein bars, the standard rations issued to every team member.
It wasn't much, but the protein and sugar were enough to take the edge off hunger.
"You stink," Kisa scrunched her nose and frowned.
"I'm acutely aware of my state," she replied. Then she pointed to the ceiling, where King was trading blows with Marco. "Bring him down. I want him dead."

The pain in the bond fritzed his mind for a split second before he slammed shut the connection.
Zoro saved them all from Big Mom’s and Kaido’s combined attack. Law managed to grab him out of the way of the blast and the swordsman crumpled to the ground, gasping in pain.
“Zoro! Are you still alive?”
“Oohf, I…I think so…”
“It’s a real feat you blocked that, if only for a second! Thanks, man!” Even Kid was impressed by Zoro's action.
Meanwhile Luffy charged Kaido  head on, prompted by his anger at Zoro being hurt.
Law didn't have time to assess the damage. They had a plan to get rid of Big Mom. His powers didn't work on the monstrous woman, but a well aimed boulder threw her over the edge and into the sea.
Her cloud was confined by Kid's powers and Zoro slashed to pieces the flame so it couldn't save its owner.
“Hey! Pirate Hunter! Let Prometheus go!” Kaido lunged at Zoro, ready to bash the swordsman into the ground.
Law popped Zoro away and used the moment to aim an attack at Kaido. It only made the emperor angrier and he bashed Law with his bagua.
Law’s back hit the hard rock and his breath was knocked out of him.
“Law! That flame’s gonna go and save Big Mom!” Zoro yelled as the flame and the sword flew over the ledge after Big Mom.
“Let him go, the plan might as well be a failure if anyone dies.”
“The point was to separate the two of them. We’ll deal with Big Mom,” Kid and Killer rushed down after Big Mom to make sure she was dead.
Law found himself the only one standing before Kaido.
Luffy was on the ground, unconscious. Zoro was barely standing, while Kaido laughed standing over Luffy.
“Even while unconscious he still stares at me. What should I crush first? Those eyes or his brain? Maybe his heart?”
“Listen, Law,” Zoro reached for his swords between strain breaths. “What I’m about to do is the limit of my ability.”
“Are you sure about this?”
“If we can’t break through, we die. After this, it’s all you!” Zoro put a sword between his teeth and pumped haki into his arms. “Hey! Kaido! That’s my captain.”
The swordsman's energy was swirling around him. The sword Enma shined with ominous energy. Zoro lunged at Kaido, swinging his swords and directing all the energy into the blow.
A wide slash cut through Kaido’s skin. Blood burst from the wound and covered the scales on his chest.
“Boy, don’t tell me you can use conqueror's haki too!” Kaido looked surprised while he turned to Zoro.
Law did feel something resembling conqueror's haki. But he didn’t have time to dwell on the issue because Kaido aimed his bagua at Zoro. The swordsman was crumpled on the ground, unable to move. But when Law moved to get him, Kaido aimed his attack at Law and knocked him back. This time Law tasted blood in his mouth.
He heard another attack and agony erupted on Zoro’s side of the bond.
Kaido stood over them, barely out of breath.
“What a shame. If you’d come with me, we could have conquered the world…”
“With you?" The unexpected voice startled Law. "We’d never go with you, idiot. We love the samurai. Mark my words, you’re going down.”
Luffy was on his feet, facing away from Law. His head was bowed and his voice grave.
"After taking that hit from your club, I figured it out. You can infuse things with conqueror's haki."
Kaido burst out laughing. In a split second he lunged at Luffy.
"Only a handful of the very strongest can! Not a dead man walking!"
Kaido's hit didn't land. Luffy blocked the bagua without even touching it. A split second later he delivered a blow to Kaido's gut and followed with a haki infused blow to his jaw.
Kaido was knocked down and Luffy cracked his knuckles.
"Zoro, Torao, thanks for protecting me. You can go down now. I'm going to beat him no matter what it takes. Go ahead and let everyone know!"
"Quit your pathetic yapping," Rage's cutting voice carried around the roof.
Law turned his head. His gaze found Rage and five other women from her crew walking towards Kaido.
Her clothes and skin were smeared with blood. Her hair was singed and there were burn marks on her clothes. There were cuts and bruises on her skin which made Law worried. She should have healed that easily, why didn’t she use her powers?
When he peeked into the bond he found it throbbing with power. But it felt different than usual, it was forcefully pumped to the brim.
Rage was dragging something behind her. There was a shag of white hair wrapped around her fist.
She swung her arm and the object went flying.
Law's eyes went wide in horror when the severed head rolled on the ground in front of Kaido.
The emperor stared. His face was frozen in disbelief. For a long moment he didn't move, then his eyes switched to Rage.
"You killed Alber," his voice was ice cold.
"Was that his real name?" Rage scowled in distaste. "Hilarious."
"You're dead."
Kaido was ready to lunge, but Rage brought up her hand to gain his attention.
"Before you throw your angry fit, you need to know something," her tone voice was calm but commanding. The power trashed in the bond, looking for an outlet. She strained to contain it. "Even if you come out alive from this battle, you will lose everything. Look to the horizon," she pointed her finger towards inland. There were towers of smoke rising to the sky from far away. "Your weapon factories were blown up. Beast Pirate's ships are set on fire at this very moment. Your money vault is being emptied as we speak. The wine served to your crew was laced with venom. Even if the Beast Pirates manage to win this battle, most of your underlings will die a slow, painful death. There’s no cure for liquified organs"
Kaido burst out laughing.
"I don't care for your lies, girl."
"Then you are another stupid old man," Rage replied with a sneer. "Me and my crew, we did this shit before. You think you're special? You're just another mission to us. We had three months to set everything in place. Three whole months of flying under your radar. We got into your factories, into your barracks and your kitchens. We were the stumbling maids, the stuttering laundry washers, the kitchen maids, the factory workers and the whores you fucked. Everything we did was to make sure, you'll lose everything even if you win."
Movement caught Law’s eye. On the edge of the roof, right behind Kaido, Reaid appeared. Her surfboard was piled high with unmoving bodies. She made a hand sign and the women by Rage’s side slowly spread out, fanning out in front of Kaido.
“Thank you for waiting,” Rage addressed Kaido. “My girls are in place thanks to you patiently listening to my rant.”
“Hey! I’m taking him down!” Luffy protested.
“You can fuck off, if you want to live,” Rage sneered in response.
Then she vanished.
Kaido’s roar was followed with an explosion, when his thunder bagua connected with Rage’s punch. The conqueror’s haki exploded all around them and the explosion made a crack in the clouds above them.
“Take Zoro and go down,” one of Rage’s crewmates was suddenly by his side. She had black skin and short cropped blond hair. “We won’t be holding back and you’ll be caught in crossfire if you stay.”
Fire exploded all around Kaido, when Makonde spit out her venom.
Without any pause, two more black women slashed through the flames and right through Kaido’s skin.
He roared and retaliated with his dragon breath.
A body dropped from the sky a few meters from Law. Reid was pushing down bodies from her board, spreading them all over the place.
A huge swell of power caused him to turn to the fray.
There was a chain around Kaido’s neck held tightly by a big black woman. Rage was charging Kaido with haki infused fists and legs.
“Go, now!” The woman by Law’s side barked. She reached for her weapon, blades on a long chain and dipped them in a bag of silver powder. Then she jumped into the fight.
The last thing Law saw was Rage landing her punch, followed by a powerful kick. Blood flew from Kaido’s mouth. Then the world exploded in flames again.
He grabbed unmoving Zoro and carried him away from the roof.

Thank you regardless and have a nice day! (This is the third time I've tried to send this because tumblr keeps telling me there has been a network change so sorry again.)
Oh hell yeah I write female yanderes and wlw stuff! Usually I've only ever gotten requests for Lady D and I think one for Toga but I'm always down 💖
(Under cut for length)
Nami's a yandere that's good at hiding her obsession and has a justification for it whenever she's confronted. After losing Bellemere and nearly losing Nojiko as well during the Arlong Park arc, and the countless times her crewmates have had brushes with death (Robin at Enies Lobby, etc) she never wants to lose anyone she cares about ever again. She's the type who'd get upset if the other Straw Hats or even Darling herself kept pointing out how overprotective she can be, and finally just snap that she just doesn't want anyone else she loves to die--what's wrong with that!?
She's a loving girlfriend that will not only share her money with Darling, she'll absolutely spoil her with anything she wants. Jewelry, clothes, food, etc. If Darling wants it, she's either buying or stealing it.
Nami may not be the strongest on the crew, but her Darling getting hurt or put in danger can put her in a rage that's as terrifying as one of Big Mom's hunger pangs. She'll go from her usual tricky and wily/cool-headed self to striking whoever hurt Darling down with the fury of a god of lightning and thunder. And given how she's observed Enel, Zeus, and trained with weather wizards, her full power is a sight to tremble at.
She's protective of her Darling and hates whenever she's separated from her. If Darling wanted to go to Wano while she went to Tottland, she would have been a lot more on edge and less focused than WCI because she's always worried about what could happen to her Darling when she isn't there.
Robin's able to keep a cooler head than Nami whenever her Darling is separated from her, but she still worries for them. She also finds that she's more depressed whenever they're apart. Robin never really thought she'd fall in love with anyone, and similar to how she views her crew as the ones who saved her, so did Darling by showing her she COULD love someone romantically.
Nami goes completely off the rails if her Darling is hurt or threatened; Robin is able to keep herself a bit more composed, even if on the inside she's just as filled with anger. Her rage is a lot more cold if that makes sense. Like she won't go off at whoever hurt Darling, she'll just immediately use her martial arts and/or her DF to snap their fucking neck before helping Darling up and checking her for any sign of injury. Revenge isn't what's important, eliminating the threat to her Beloved (and keeping her safe) is.
She'll confess to her Darling that sometimes she's a little scared of just how much she loves her, smiling and saying that Darling brings out the human AND the demon in her. Now that she's accepted who she is and that she's deserving of love, she wants to revel in those intense feelings of love after closing herself off emotionally for far too long.
Hancock is basically how she is towards Luffy, but turned up to even more extreme levels lol. Spoiling her Darling, fawning over her and getting heart eyes, and obliterating anyone and anything that gets between the two of them. She refuses to call herself the most beautiful woman in the world when her Darling is right there, and she'll actually get pissed if someone calls her that when she's in her Darling's presence. Are they daring to say that there's ANYONE more beautiful than her Darling, herself included!?
I think she'd be much more wary of men being around her Darling thanks to her history. She doesn't feel comfortable with any man being too close to her Darling except for maybe Luffy, and under NO circumstances will she let her Darling be left alone if a man is in their presence. And if you flirt with her Darling? Man, woman, or anything otherwise, she will fucking petrify you and shatter you into a million pieces.
She's very clingy and is always touching her Darling somehow. Holding hands, leaning against her, cuddling or spooning, having an arm around her waist, etc. She's also got lots of matching outfits and accessories that she has made for her and her Darling.

Afterglow
Pairing: Portgas D. Ace x Y/N
Summary: Without Ace, your nights are back to being long, dark, and empty. But when you finally reunite, Ace refuses to just be your Daylight.
Daylight - Part 1 | Afterglow - Part 2
Word Count: 4.3k (my hands slipped, I’m so sorry)
Loosely based on: Taylor Swift’s Lover album (but mostly about the songs Daylight and Afterglow)
A/N: I really think Whitebeard is a great father, yk? So I see him as someone who you can always seek and rely on. He looks tough (and he’s actually tough), but he’s soft too! And Ace too, in that respect is similar to WB. I really believe he’ll be such a good boyfriend 🥺 Anyway, I really enjoyed writing this so much! Thank you to everyone who read this, I love yall 🥰
Tumblr media
<Teach doesn’t exist to me, I hate him, so I guess this is noncanon? Also, there’s this tiny spoiler, just a warning.>
Sailing by yourself in a boat for one reminds you how vast the sea actually is. With the rowdy Whitebeard pirates, sometimes the sea, no, the world, seems a lot smaller, a lot more manageable, but alone, it feels so massive it’s almost frightening.
It’s easy to get lost, except there’s no such concept like that for someone like you who doesn’t have a destination to go to in mind. Quite simply, you’re wandering, but not lost.
You drift from one island to another. Your initial intention is to get as far away as possible from the crew. Now that that’s achieved, you’re unsure of what to do next.
You allow yourself to observe and to experience some sort of normalcy at the islands you dock at. It’s a good thing that you don’t really stand out so no one suspects you’re a wanted pirate.
Walking down the streets of random towns, you’re reminded of how lonely being a Celestial Dragon was. No one wants to interact with a World Noble, afraid of the consequences if they’re angered. Things changed drastically when you became a pirate though. People don’t shy away that much with pirates in certain places. They interact with you, albeit hesitantly sometimes. Nevertheless, you felt so free and happy.
Now, you’re still a pirate, as marked by Whitebeard’s infamous tattoo. But with the unsuspecting townspeople and the lack of the presence of a crew, you don’t feel like one. Somehow it makes you feel empty.
The void is immeasurable. Despite it being unbounded, you’re sure that a single person can fill that emptiness: Portgas D. Ace.
But there are oceans separating you from Ace— a distance that you put. With the space between you, there’s silence in your voyage, however, it’s quite mystifying how every island you reach seems to scream his name.
There’s an island where you’ve docked at that’s snowing all year long. It brought back memories of when you were fairly new to the Whitebeard Pirates and had landed on a similar island. Back then you’ve worn a coat as you disembarked Moby Dick, however, the cold continued to seep through your layers of clothing. You couldn’t handle extreme temperatures that well but you didn’t want to make a big deal out of it so you continued to walk alongside the crew to scout the area. The thing was you may have been terrible at hiding it because Ace noticed the way your body was shivering and your teeth chattering. You were only acquaintances back then but he went to your side and striked a conversation with you. You didn’t understand why you became comfortable when he approached you all of a sudden, but then later that night you realized that he used his devil fruit abilities to warm you up.
At one island with a bustling town, there’s this restaurant that serves a variety of meat. You’re reminded of Ace and his bottomless pit of a stomach, and of his narcoleptic episodes while eating. He has a tendency of eating and then running, and the first few times he did it with you had you reeling. When you’ve finally realized that he’s never going to change, you start to keep a pouch of gold coins with you, reserved for paying for the food he eats. You leave it on the table just as Ace pulls you to run, and he has no idea about it. Owners or servers at the restaurants would still follow you out, but not to berate the both of you for not paying but to return the extra gold coins because you pay too much. Like usual though, Ace pretends not to hear them and they never got to catch up with you and Ace.
On another island, there’s a huge wild boar thrice the size of a human. It reminded you of the time you got so excited to explore an island that you speedily ran towards the forest alone, only to be met by a wild boar. The size of the boar stunned you and its glare kept you frozen in fear. A loud scream escaped your lips when it lunged at you, except the impact never came. When you’ve gathered your bearings, the wild boar was dead and… cooked, courtesy of Ace’s devil fruit abilities. He saved you, but he played it off as if he had his eyes on the wild boar since the beginning “to hunt it down.”
The current island you’re at is in famine. As soon as you docked at their port, a group of men has drawn their swords at you. For a moment, you thought they were bounty hunters so you grabbed your daggers and took a defensive stance. However, from the way they keep looking back and forth to you and your boat, and from hearing the faint sound of their stomach grumbling, you can tell they aren’t. Behind some trees, you can see the heads of some children peeking with worried yet hopeful looks on their faces.
Slowly, you raise your hands up in surrender, dropping your daggers in the process. You can’t turn your back on them — figuratively and literally — so you walk backwards towards your boat. The men look at you curiously but they don’t ever lower their swords.
In a quick motion, you grab a bag containing all of your food supply and throw it at them. One of the men catches it. “You can have them. It isn’t much, but that’s all I have.”
The man who was able to catch the bag carefully opens it and sees food. He almost cries at the sight of it. The rest of the men lowers the sword after you offer no sign of aggression. They start calling the other citizens of the area afterwards.
The children are the first to come running towards the men — all of them conveying excitement. You couldn’t tell how long they haven’t eaten but judging from how thin they are, it has got to be quite some time.
A small girl stumbles and falls near you and you quickly come to her aid. There isn’t much damage, just a scraped knee so you carefully patched her up.
“Thank you,” she gives you a toothy smile and then starts heading to the men who are distributing the food.
She comes back a moment later, arms outstretched to hand an apple to you. “For you,” she says.
Something blossoms in your heart because of her sweetness. “Thank you, but it’s fine, you can have it,”
She doesn’t object but then she hugs you tightly. “Thank you so much.”
Surprisingly, even on an island like this, you’re reminded of Ace. You remember his story about coming to Wano and meeting a child named “Tama” who seemed to be as charming as the child you helped and is under the same fortune.
Now that your mind has drifted to thoughts of Ace, you didn’t want to think of anything else. Even as the people gather around you to offer their thanks, and even as they usher you to a bonfire to celebrate for the food to eat, the thoughts of him linger in your head.
And just like in all the previous islands you came to, you wish he’s here with you too.
There’s longing in your heart, but there’s also something else— something pleasant that you can’t quite describe— and you attribute it to the gratitude of the people.
The mother of the child you helped, Sito, offers their spare room for you to take and you graciously accept. Soft snores almost immediately fill your ears after a few minutes of them bidding you good night.
The longer you stay awake, however, the pleasant feeling you felt a while ago starts to leave a bitter taste in your mouth.
You’ve always criticized yourself for not being able to do more when you were still a Celestial Dragon but now that you did something good, you start to feel selfish for doing it because it makes you feel better about yourself.
It’s at times like this that you seek Pops. There’s a sudden urge to hear his voice and his thoughts. So you grab your Den Den Mushi, but you hesitate.
You’ve lost track of the days since you left Moby Dick. And in that time frame, you never once called Pops. Although you didn’t really promise to call, maybe he was expecting you to, especially since you know he wouldn’t do it first.
You sigh. Maybe this call is long overdue after all.
You step outside the house and start to contact Pops using the Den Den Mushi. It only rings once and then it’s answered, almost as if Pops was waiting by the Den Den Mushi. The thought brings a smile to your face. “Pops—”
“Why on earth are you only calling now?!” His angry tone welcomes you.
“I’m so—”
“Is that Y/N?!” Marco interrupts. Ah, how could you have forgotten? It’s at this time that Marco reports to Pops. “We’re so worried about you -yoi!”
You can hear sounds of struggling on the line and then there’s a loud smack followed by an even louder crash. There’s a moment of silence which makes you wonder what’s going on in the ship.
“Why didn’t you call earlier?!” Pops’ voice booms. “If you’re going to leave a Den Den Mushi, I’m going to expect your reports but I received none of that.”
“I’m sorry Pops. I have no excuse,” you sheepishly say.
“Everyone’s worried about you,” he pauses but then his voice rings louder once again, “Some are even outside my room trying to listen in on our conversation. But if they know better, they should leave us alone.” The sound of rushing footsteps could be heard in the background as Pops finishes his sentence.
You chuckle, imagining the crew eavesdropping. “How are you Pops?”
“I’m doing fine.”
“How’s everyone? How’s… uhm… Ace?”
“Everyone’s just missing you. You didn’t say goodbye after all,” he says. “I put Ace on a mission because he won’t stop pestering me about you. He won’t come back in a couple of days.”
“Oh.”
“He misses you a lot,” he sighs. “He strides to me everyday to demand your whereabouts. Each time I wouldn’t tell him but he never learns. Vista says he’s on his 56th attempt the other day.”
The brief image of Ace that your mind comes up with brings a small smile to your face.
“When are you coming back?” Whitebeard breaks your reverie.
“Ah, I’m not sure yet… It might take a while.”
He hums. “So how are you? Have you been eating well?”
“I’m doing fine, Pops. No one’s been coming after me yet so everything’s going well,” you respond. “But… Can I ask you something?”
“Of course.”
“There’s this island with people who haven’t eaten in so long so I gave them everything I have.” There’s a loud growl coming from Pops so you immediately continue your speech before he could scold you for doing such a thing. “I feel really good about what I did as they thanked me. But then the longer I thought about it, I started feeling ashamed because... wasn’t it selfish since I did it to make me feel better about myself? Then I started to wonder if it was wrong to do good things just because I wanted to be absolved of my parents’ sins. Was I wrong in doing this, Pops?”
“No, you did the right thing.”
“Really?”
“Yes, you’re not an inherently bad person for getting paid in gratitude.”
“But…”
“Making yourself happy by making other people happy is how it’s meant to work. If one of your key motives to doing good things is to feel good, then you’re still doing something good and there’s nothing shameful about that.”
Hearing his words puts you at ease. You’re glad you called him. “Thank you, Pops. I’m sorry for worrying everyone there and for disrupting Marco’s report. I promise I’ll call more often from now on.”
“It’s fine. Just don’t forget to take care of yourself too. Where will you be headed next?”
“I’m not sure. I’m just going where the sea leads me.”
“Be careful.”
“You too, Pops,” and with that, you bid your goodbye and hang up.
By morning, you start preparing your things to leave. You didn’t want to stay for too long because you didn’t want to consume even a portion of the small amount of food they have.
Sito offers you to stay another night, worried that it would be uncomfortable to sleep on a boat. “You can stay one more day. There’s still enough food for us to share.”
“Oh no, I don’t want to impose,” you decline. “But do you mind if I ask what happened here?”
There’s sadness in her eyes, it was easy to tell the memory pained her, but she tells you everything anyway. “This island is one of the few lawless areas in the world, hence, it’s a place where pirates would dock at. A group of men once docked here and kidnapped the leaders of our town. They were sold off to be slaves, because apparently the Nobles like to enslave people of power…” Her words start to fade on you upon the mention of the World Nobles.
Anger flares up in your system immediately. How low can the Celestial Dragons go? It’s sickening to think that you share the same blood as them. It’s because of this revelation that something becomes clear in your mind.
Ever since leaving Moby Dick, you’re just wandering aimlessly. But after hearing Sito talk about this island, you’re finally sure of what your destination should be.
Sabaody Archipelago.
Specifically, the Human Auctioning House.
From the sudden fury that overwhelms you, not even the fear of being within arm’s reach of the Marines, and possibly dying, could stop you from going there.
It’s reckless and foolish, but isn’t this the reason you left Moby Dick that night— to face your nightmares instead of running away from them?
You listen politely as Sito explains everything else but her words enter and leave your ears without you having to comprehend them. Fortunately, she doesn’t notice your inattentiveness, probably because she wants to pour her frustrations out to a stranger.
You offer your sympathies to her and promise her you’d come back with your crew and help them some more. It’s a simple promise yet for someone who hasn’t been offered help for so long, it means a lot, enough to even bring tears to her eyes. And just like that, you leave.
There are two more islands to stop at before you reach Sabaody Archipelago. You gather provisions on one island and buy explosives on the other.
The only thing you’re sure you can actually do alone is to blow up the Human Auctioning House. Facing the World Nobles is for another time, unfortunately. As for the Marines, well… You’d worry about that if they indeed come. You know you’d be able to handle them as long as they don’t send an Admiral after you.
The thing that worries you the most, however, is Pops’ reaction once you let him know of your plan. While you can always just not tell him, it feels wrong, and you promised you’d report to him, after all. And it’s hard for you to admit, but you secretly want to be saved in case your plan goes askew. That, and well, you still want to make up with Ace, may it be just strictly as friends, but preferably as lovers.
You decide to call once you’re about to set sail towards Sabaody Archipelago. You’re sitting in the middle of your boat, still anchored at the port when you told Pops your plan. And as expected, he’s mad.
He demands you to go back to the crew immediately. “Captain’s orders,” he says. But after a few moments, he retracts his words and says, “Your father’s orders.” You feel the weight of his words when he said that and you almost concede. But the faces of the slaves your family had flashes into your mind and it solidifies your decision.
Interestingly, despite the weeks you have spent away from the crew, their ship is nearer to you than anticipated. As confirmed by Pops himself when he angrily said, “Enough! I’m sending Ace to get you! Two or three days is enough for him to catch up with you.”
But quite frankly, that’s also enough time to execute your plan. And if the odds are in your favor, then Ace might just come in time for your escape.
Arriving at Sabaody Archipelago, you keep your face hidden underneath the hood of your cloak. It’s normal for pirates to walk around the place without having to hide their identities, but it’s a luxury you can’t afford. If someone catches wind that you’re here and reports it, the Cipher Pol just might come and capture you before you can even execute your plan. That just won’t do. So on the first day of your arrival, you only scout the area of the Human Auctioning House and retreat back to the inn you stay at.
You carry out your plan on the next day. You place a bomb where the side of the stage is supposed to be. It’s a distraction so people inside would leave the premises. The plan is to find the keys and free the slaves while the people are panicking from the explosion. Then eliminate the head of the place, Mr. Disco, and finally blow the place apart. It sounds simple but with you having to do all the work, you know it isn’t.
Now that you’re here, your nerves are spiking up. Arriving at the entrance of the building, you take a deep breath, your hand automatically reaching for the bracelet that Ace made you. It instantly calms you down.
It baffles you how fate works because on the very day you decide to free the slaves that are being sold off at the Human Auctioning House, Ace’s brother, Luffy — along with his crew — is at the same place to rescue their friend who was kidnapped.
Somehow even on a dangerous mission like this, there’s still something or someone who’d remind you of Ace. It makes you wonder: has he really embedded himself too deep into your life that there’s no escaping the thoughts of him? Not that you mind; the thoughts of him bring you peace, after all. But still, it’s fascinating that even in both mundane and dangerous settings, he makes himself known to you.
Upon entering the Human Auctioning House, everything happens so fast and unexpected. And quite frankly, a lot happened that wasn’t part of the plan.
Aside from finding the Straw Hat Pirates, you got yourself injured when you used your body to shield their fish man friend, Hatchi, from Saint Charlos’ gunshot. Then you confronted Saint Shalria personally despite you not planning to get involved with the Celestial Dragons. As for the slaves, it was the Dark King, Silvers Rayleigh, who actually freed them. The only things that you personally executed from your plan were Mr. Disco’s elimination and the bombing of the Human Auctioning House.
Escape is easy once the building starts to explode because the Marines would have to lessen the forces who're chasing after the pirates in order for them to successfully put out the fire. Without any Admiral on the scene yet, it’s not hard to slip away from them and/or fight them.
Even with the gunshot wound on your arm, you’re able to take down each and every one of the Marines who are chasing you. But halfway through your journey back to the grove where you left your boat at, you lose your adrenaline.
You start to feel the sharp and stinging sensation on your arm once again, yet, you couldn’t help but smile. You have gotten out alive. The slaves have been freed. With both Mr. Disco and the building gone, the Human Auctioning House will no longer be operational, or at least not yet until someone steps up. But that won’t be after a long time.
It’s a wonderful day.
You look up at the afterglow of the sunset with a serene smile. You have a feeling your nights are going to feel shorter now and less frightening than they were before.
Your peaceful moment is cut off by someone rather abruptly. You jump in surprise as someone wraps their arms around you from behind all of a sudden. “I finally caught up with you.”
Your breath hitches at the sound of the voice. “Ace? What are you doing here?”
He doesn’t answer your question, but he mumbles, “I’m sorry if I only came now. Pops wouldn’t tell me where you were, but I came as soon as I could.” Then he tightens his hug. “I was so scared, I thought I’d lose you…”
“Ace, I’m sorry about—”
“Hey, it’s on me, okay?” He interrupts. “I blew things out of proportion, and now you’re blue.”
You pull away from his hug to face him.
“Y-your arm! You’re bl-bleeding,” he stutters after seeing your injury.
But you pay no mind to that. “Ace… I’m really sorry about us—”
“Ssshhh, baby…” he rubs his hand on your back.
He looks at your figure carefully, focused on looking for any more bruises or wounds. When he doesn’t find anything more, he gently holds you by your waist. “Don’t blame yourself, I’m the one who burned us down, but… it’s not what I meant.
“It was all in my head, okay? It’s just that the Celestial Dragons are all grouped in my head as scums and that they’re inexcusable because… my brother was killed by a Celestial Dragon.”
A wave of guilt flows through your body, enough to weaken your knees. Before you could fall, however, Ace catches you and brings you to his chest. But this doesn’t stop you from sobbing on his chest. “I didn’t know, Ace. I’m so sorry.”
“No, that’s the thing, baby. It isn’t your fault. It wasn’t you who pulled the trigger. And… I have to admit I failed to see that at first,” he says as he hugs you tighter. “I shouldn’t have stood there frozen after you told me your story. I’m supposed to be the one who understands you...
“I’m not trying to make excuses and I’m not trying to make this about me but it’s just that… for so long I thought that I inherited the bad blood of my father, and I spent my lifetime failing to see that his sins aren’t my sins,” his voice cracks as he cries. “So when I found out about you… My mind automatically held you liable for the sins of the Nobles…
“But I talked to Pops and he straightened me up. I understand now. Our parents’ sins aren’t ours. It never was ours to begin with. So I’m sorry for blaming you for something you didn’t do…”
Ace stares at your crying form. He cups your face and sincerely says, “It’s so excruciating to see you low,” as he wipes the tears on your eyes. “I’m sorry if I hurt you…”
“It’s fine Ace, I forgive you. But…” You look directly into his eyes. “I’m at fault too,” you confess. “I was the one who left... I was so used to living like an island and isolating myself that it didn’t occur to me that I was punishing you with silence… I should’ve waited patiently for you but I ran away…”
Ace rubs your back gently and presses his forehead against yours, “I forgive you too.”
You smile in relief.
After a couple of minutes in silence, Ace tilts his head. “Y/N?”
“Hm?”
“Remember when you said that you saw daylight after sleeping in a long, dark night?”
You give him a curious look but nodded anyway.
“Beside wishing that I was there for you sooner, it had me thinking...”
“What?”
“Uhm… The world is terrible and cruel, and no one can ever really stop the dark nights from coming.”
You frown. You don’t really understand what Ace is trying to say.
“I guess what I’m trying to say is,” he rubs his neck while his cheeks starts to blush, “if you ever have to go through those dark nights, I wouldn’t want you to wait for daylight.
“I want to be there with you on those nights until they’re over. I don’t want to leave you when things get rough and only show up when you’re better. I know you see me as your daylight but I don’t want to be just that.”
His words warm your heart, and makes it skip a beat. “You know, Ace, there are remnants of light that linger in the sky even when the sun has long gone down and the night starts. It’s the afterglow,” you mumble.
“Yeah, but that goes away too after a while,” he frowns.
“Well, lucky for you the moon reflects the sun’s light during the night, huh?”
He grins. “Yeah, yeah. I like that. I want to be your source of light, may it be the daylight, moonlight, or the afterglow.”
A moment of silence engulfs the both of you. Under the soft afterglow of the sunset with your arms wrapped around each other, you feel at peace.
Once upon a time, you used to believe love is black and white— that it’s straightforward. It was either you love Ace or you don’t, there were no gray areas. No matter what he feels, says, or does, your love for him never ceases.
But then some other days you believed that love is burning red— that it’s full of passion, lust, and romance, much like the nights you spent entangled in the sheets with Ace.
However, right now in Ace’s arms, all you could ever think about is that love is golden. It was warmth and comfort, like what daylight brings. It was contentment and serenity too, much like the feeling of lightness one gets when seeing the afterglow of the sunset. Either way, it’s Ace who makes you feel those.
No matter what color love actually is though, for you it’s always embodied by Ace.

A New Dream
                                                 Chapter 1
I had fallen asleep watching One Piece wishing I could live in their world and not mine. My life was boring and uneventful. There was no magic no adventures. Just bills and wishing the world wasn’t as corrupt as it was. If I was born into the world of One Piece I would join Luffy’s crew and go on so many adventures. I made a silent wish before sleep claimed me. To live in their world and finally belong.
It seems like no time has gone past when I begin to open my eyes. I noticed that my bed felt very strange and I did not have a blanket. In fact everything is off. The sun was beginning to shine in my eyes. Wait what the sun?! I jolt up and look around. Holy shit. I recognize where I was. But how, how did I get on the Thousand Sunny?! One Piece is fake but yet here I am sitting on the deck just as morning was creeping over the sea. The sea?! I begin to panic, how and why am I here?
As I was beginning to have a panic attack, a door opens. I look towards the sound and see Sanji coming out to start breakfast. At least that is what I assume. I could have made some noise but I wasn’t sure. Sanji begins to start smoking and looks my way. I was so scared. This could go either way and I was not looking forward to either.
“Um hello?” Sanji asked questioning raising a curly eyebrow.
“Hi.” I say sheepishly raising my hand. Something catches my eye. My hand is darker than it normally is and it looks healthy. I then look down and see my body has changed. I scream and faint from the shock. I briefly hear Sanji call for Chopper as I fade into darkness.
I begin to open my eyes but the lights are very bright so I bring my hand up to shield my eyes.
“Oh you’re awake. Thank goodness.” A childish voice says. I look over and I see Chopper sitting in a chair. He jumps down and comes over to me.
“Sanji was real worried when you just fainted. But it seems like you’re okay.” Chopper says giving me a look over. Chopper opens the door and says, “She is awake guys!” You hear stampeding but Chopper morphs into Heavy Point and blocks the door.
“No rushing her. I am sure she is just as confused as you are.” He says. Luffy squeezes past Chopper and sits next to me.
“Hi I’m Luffy. Who are you?” Luffy says with a smile.
“My name is Sam, short for Samantha, but call me Sam.” I reply. I was still scared and I did not know what I could say.
“How did you get here?” Luffy than asked.
“I’m not sure. I fell asleep and the next moment I woke up and see Sanji and than fainted.” I replied stumbling over my words.
“Yeah the ero cook will do that to you.” A voice I would recognize anywhere. I begin to blush because I was in love with Zoro. Yes I was in love with a fictional character that is someone standing in front of me or nearby. I begin to blush and bring my hands up to my face.
“Chopper! Sam’s face is red.” Luffy yells at Chopper. Chopper raced over shifting back to his normal form. He put a hoof to my forehead and says, “She doesn’t have a fever.” I begin to breathe quickly just knowing that Zoro was nearby was making me nervous. Nami comes in and pushes Luffy off the bed and sits next to me.
“Hey are you okay?” She asked putting a gentle hand on my shoulder.
“Yeah just it’s a lot to take in.” I reply. It wasn’t a total lie but the real reason was mortifying to say in front of everyone.
“Just tell us what you can. Sanji bring her something to drink.” Nami orders Sanji.
“Yes my dear!” He says twirling away. I laugh seeing this in person is actually funny.
“Well I am not sure how to start but I came from another world. At least I think so since this is not my home.” I say spreading my hands indicating this is not normal.
“Cool!” Luffy says with stars in his eyes.
“From where I come from this is fake. Your world is a fictional show that millions of people watch.” I continued. Everyone is quiet and looking at me like I grew another head.
             “What?” Nami asked.
“The show is called One Piece. I can tell you things about each other that is not common knowledge. Chopper is the medic and at the Human-Human fruit. Nami is the navigator and was part of the Arlong pirates before Luffy saved her. Luffy is the grandson of Monkey D. Garp and the son of Monkey D. Dragon. His brothers are Fire Fist Ace and Sabo. Sanji is the cook and the son of Vinsmoke Judge. Robin is from O’Hara and ate the Flower Flower Fruit. Franky is the shipwright and is a cyborg since a train ran over him. Brook is the musician and is alive because of the Revive Revive Fruit. Usopp is the sniper but is a coward and becoming God Usopp from a misunderstanding at Dressrosa. Jimbei is the Helmsman and saved Luffy at Marineford and defected from Big Mom to join Luffy. Zoro is the first mate and swordsman. He is my favorite.” I say that last part slipping. I cover my mouth and look at the crew again. Their jaws were on the floor and Zoro popped his head in looking at me. I drop my head onto my lap begging them to not say anything.
“So awesome!” Luffy is the first one to scream and tackle me into a hug.
“That is so amazing that you know all about us!” Luffy was yelling with the biggest smile on his face. I couldn’t help but smile too. I adore Luffy and always saw him as my brother that I had to protect.
“Huh.” Nami says getting up and taking the water from the stunned Sanji. Nami handed me the drink giving me a chance to take a drink and think.
“How could you like that mosshead more than me!” Sanji screamed in defeat.
“Cause I am just better than you.” Zoro smirked with a slight blush on his face. Sanji than proceeded to get in his face. But Nami quickly knocked their heads.
“Now is not the time to argue about this.” Nami screamed!
“I know it sounds crazy but it’s true. I know pretty much everything that happened up till Wano.” I say still being hugged by Luffy.
“So you know everything!” Luffy says still looking amazed.
“Yeah but anything after that I have not caught up on.” I replied.
“So you know all about us but we don’t know anything more about you.” Robin says resting her hand on her chin.
“Can we talk while I eat? It has been a while since I ate.” I asked my stomach growling.
“Of course my dear. Anything for you Sam!” Sanji said kneeling down next to me grabbing my hand with hearts in his eyes.
“Thanks Sanji.” I say giving him a smile. Everyone begins to leave but Nami stays behind.
“I left some clothes on the bed. No charge!” Nami says leaving the room and closing the door. I look at the clothes and saw that they are way more revealing than what I used to wear. I quickly look in the mirror and saw exactly how much had changed. I had lost weight and looked fit. My skin was tan and I was a few inches taller. My hair was the same length but now instead of brown is was a violet. My eyes were pale purple and I could see clearly.
“What happened to me?” I asked myself.
My first work. It just came to me one night at work. I hope you all enjoy.

Needed Part IV

Before you read, here’s Part I, Part II, and Part III!
Category: Romantic Fluff
Fandom: One Piece
Characters: Monkey D. Luffy, Baby 5
Requested By: Wannabekurt (Ao3)
Baby 5 kneeled before a wooden tub, her hands wrist-deep in sudsy water as she scrubbed a kimono against a washboard. The rhythmic scrapes of the fabric against the wooden ridges were soothing, in a way, bringing a content smile to her lips. She lifted the sodden clothes to inspect them, and decided that they were sufficiently washed. As she rose, water cascaded from the soaked fabric, puddling down into the grass. When she turned, a few small dewdrops splashed against the skirt of her own kimono, a simple red-purple color patterned with white flowers. She walked to the clothesline and draped the drenched kimono over the string, pinning it with a pair of clothespins. She then turned, looking at the pile of clothes she still had left to wash. All in a day’s work, but at least I’m being helpful!
While Luffy and half of the crew traveled to Whole Cake Island to rescue Sanji, Law had led another party of the Straw Hats to Wano, where they would infiltrate the population and gather information on their targets, Orochi and Kaido. They had been split apart for some time now. Baby 5 had settled in a small village, taking odd jobs for money. Today, she was helping a housewife do laundry; she couldn’t keep up with her gaggle of five children running around, and Baby 5 had been happy to volunteer her services. It was clear that the family was of eager means, so she was intending not to take any money at all. She'd rather just do a good deed for the sake of doing so.
“Batama!” called a pleasant voice, and for a second, Baby 5 didn’t respond. Then, she recalled that she had assumed a different name while traveling in Wano: Batama. She whirled around with a shout to see her employer walking out of the house, a toddler in each arm. Baby 5 rushed forward to take one, causing the woman to smile pleasantly. “Ah, thank you. Are you done with the washing yet?”
“Not yet,” she admitted shyly, not wanting to admit that she’d spent a good thirty minutes following a pretty butterfly around the garden. “But I’m getting there! I’ll get it done, I promise.”
“Don’t worry,” the woman chuckled with a dismissive wave. “Anything you can do helps.” After setting the toddler down in the grass, Baby 5 walked back to the wash tub, kneeling back down and wrinkling her nose at the feeling of water soaking into the bottom of her kimono. Still, she had to work hard! She picked up a yukata from the pile and dunked it into the water, allowing it to soak up the liquid before she started scrubbing. The mother also set down her other daughter and watched her two children play in the grass.
Baby 5 watched the two toddlers run in circles around the yard, chasing one another with excited squeals. She couldn’t help but smile; they really were cute. She had long dreamed of having a family, abandoning piracy so she could rear children alongside a loving husband. Things hadn’t turned out quite the way she intended, though. Traveling with Luffy, she’d spend a long time on the seas. But that’s okay, she smiled and picked up the yukata to begin scrubbing it against the washboard. I want to see Luffy become Pirate King.
The thought of her lover made her heave a sigh. She hoped he was all right. She had faith in him just as much as the rest of the crew, but she couldn’t help but worry. Big Mom was an emperor, after all, far deadlier than any enemy that Luffy had ever faced— and he only had half his crew with him. She hoped that he would stick to the plan and escape with Sanji, but if Luffy was anything, it was hot-blooded and reckless. There really was no telling what he would do if he got fired up enough.
“Ah, have you heard?”
Baby 5 perked up as a neighbor came trotting up into her employer’s yard, holding an infant to her chest. She looked alarmed, but not in a bad way— more like excited? Baby 5 continued to scrub the yukata, not wishing to look like she was eavesdropping, though that was exactly what she was doing. She drowned out the giggles of the two children still tearing around the yard to catch the two women’s conversation, straining her ears.
“Apparently pirates have infiltrated Wano!” the woman gasped, making her friend put her hand to her mouth in shock. “Yeah, yeah! They just landed a few days ago and are tearing around causing a ruckus. I wonder if they’re here for Orochi…”
“Be careful what you say!” the other hissed, looking around with a frightened look. “His spies are always lurking around. It’s one thing to be hopeful, but you know what they do to people who so much as breathe a hint of rebellion. It’s best not to talk about this.”
“Still,” the woman said, looking down at her infant with a smile. “I feel the winds of change blowing…”
The winds of change were blowing indeed, and Baby 5 was determined to catch them. She returned to her task with gusto, eager to finish her work soon so that she could gather more information on this crew of pirates. Surely, this was news that the rest of the Straw Hats had landed on Wano and were searching for them! Baby 5 finished the laundry just as the sun met the horizon. She did end up refusing payment from the young mother, but was unable to escape without a package of rice balls. As she set off down the road, she munched on one, heading to the nearest tavern. Alcohol always made tongues wag, and if rumors were beginning to fly, then a bar was the best place to sieve them.
It didn’t take her long to hone in on the gossip. Apparently these pirates were the talk of Wano, as most of the talk in the bar concerned them. Baby 5 sat at the bar nursing her sake, taking slow and careful sips while filtering out the useful information. Once she confirmed their last known location, she paid her tab and bid the bartender goodnight. The pirates apparently weren’t far, so she could make it on foot. Traveling at night was dangerous, especially with the enemy’s forces skulking about, but Baby 5 was more than capable. Besides, her desire to reunite with Luffy clouded all of her judgment; her heart skipped in her chest as she hurried down the road leading out of the village, a smile plastered on her face.
The sun filtered through the trees of the bamboo forest, dying the skinny stems a bright golden-green. The only sound was the scuffing of her sandals in the dirt path and the wind whistling through the thin leaves of the bamboo. As time and Baby 5 marched on, the spears of light piercing the green gradually changed angles with the setting of the sun. Dusk began to descend as the light faded further, and Baby 5’s pace began to slow, nervousness setting in. Crickets chirped within the depths of the forest, falling silent whenever something rustled within the gloom. Baby 5 jumped each time, nervously looking around. Yet she could see nothing within the gloom clouding the fronds.
Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea, she thought while wringing her hands. Maybe she should have tried to rendezvous with one of the other members and then they together could search for the rumored pirates. There wasn’t even a guarantee that it was Luffy, if the rumors held credence at all. Baby 5 realized her folly as she slowly came to a stop within the forest, surrounded by darkness and all alone.
Yet… She could not bring herself to turn back. What if it was Luffy? He could be in Wano all alone. He might need me, she thought, heart stirring. If he’s here, I have to find him!
A particularly loud snap yanked Baby 5 out of her thoughts. She morphed her hand into a pistol and looked around wildly, the stars doing little to illuminate the dense bamboo forest. When she whirled around the check behind her, her stomach dropped into her stomach; two large silhouettes were outlined against the indigo sky. She gulped thickly as their shadowy forms encroached on her; she took an offensive stance and pointed her gun at them, narrowing her eyes.
“Identify yourselves or I’ll shoot!”
“Threatening two of Orochi’s officials? That’s not very smart of you,” came the low, threatening voice. Baby 5 swallowed thickly as they stepped out into the moonlight— two burly forms in yukatas with katanas strapped to their hips. Baby 5 morphed her other hand into a shotgun and pointed it at his companion, her eyes flicking back and forth between them rapidly. “A Devil Fruit user, eh? Orochi could have use for a woman like you…”
“I have no intentions of working for him!” Baby 5 snapped. As the two split apart to begin walking a semicircle around her, she stepped back, making sure to keep both the guns on them.
“Oh, it wasn’t an offer, sweetheart,” the other chuckled darkly. His katana gleamed in the starlight as he drew it from the sheath. The scraping sound it made made Baby 5’s heart thump. Law had instructed them to lay low, and murdering two of Orochi’s underlings wasn’t exactly following those directions, but it was beginning to look like these two goons wouldn’t give her much of a choice.
“I’m warning you. I will shoot you,” she threatened.
“Do that, and Orochi will have your head on a pike within a week,” the other goon chuckled darkly, drawing his weapon as well. Fat chance of that! She thought and cocked both the guns. At the clicks, the two thugs snarled and leaped at her in unison, but before she could shoot, the bamboo fronds rustled wildly. She looked to her right just in time to see a sandaled leg— a very long leg— erupt from the bamboo and plow right into one of the goons’ heads. He flew sideways at the force, crashing into his friend. Both of them flew off to her left, disappearing into the bamboo. She looked at the broken-off stalks in shock, then slowly turned to the elongated leg in front of her.
The rubbery leg slowly shortened, a torso and a head following. When she spotted an arm holding a straw hat down against messy black hair, Baby 5’s eyes alit with excitement.
“Luffy!” she squealed, changing her arms back so she could jump forward and embrace him. Luffy cried out in shock when Baby 5 crashed into his chest, and he grabbed her hips on reflex. A big grin spread across his face in the next second, and he leaned down to nuzzle into Baby 5’s voluminous tresses.
“Baby!” he cried in delight. “I’ve missed you…”
“I’ve missed you, too!” she beamed, hugging him tighter. She breathed in deeply, admiring his scent of salt and sea spray and a hint of roasted meat. Her eyelashes fluttered as the aroma calmed her. “I’ve missed you so much…”
“I know,” he hummed and rubbed soothing circles in her lower back. “It’s okay. I’m here now!” She looked up at him, chin perched on her chest and eyes dewy with joyful tears. He lifted his hands to cup her cheek, his thumbs rubbing over the smooth, rosy skin, before leaning down to peck her on the nose. “I’m here now, Baby.”
She blinked, the tears beading up over her eyes and flowing down her cheeks. Luffy gently swept them away, continuing to smile down at her like she was all he needed. She hoped so, because he was all she needed in this crazy world. He pecked her on the lips this time, and then she buried her face into his chest, snuggling into him as close as she could. She knew that soon their trial would begin and they would go to war with the dragons of Wano, but for that moment, she just savored being in the arms of her beloved, the one who needed her.

A Witchy Pirate part 6
Links!
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 5
Back to things calming down for a bit and setting into the meet up with Amity (which I only have a partial idea of what I want to do with)
A short time after the attempted raid by the Emperor’s Coven, the three women found themselves back in the living room. Most of the mess that Luz had made while she was injured was cleaned off of the couch.
Lilith had come in with some drinks for them and Luz was now wearing a shirt lent to her by Eda. “You finally got these printed huh?” Luz asked with an amused tone as she looked down at the “Bad Girls Coven” shirt. “Of course, there was no way I was canceling that t-shirt order.” Eda shrugged before taking a sip of her drink. “Now, you have some explaining to do, what happened to you and how are you able to use magic that effectively? Did you somehow get a bile sack?”
Lilith took a seat next to her sister and nodded. “Yes, I’m curious about that myself, along with that glyph you used to heal yourself. I’ve never seen a spell quite like that before.”
Luz leaned back and nodded. “It’s one I came up with after a fight with a guy called Blackbeard, he had a power that allowed him to control darkness as well as absorb things into it and then cast them back out. Normally I use the Siphoning Glyph to take in attacks and reuse the energy right away, but if I want, I can combine a new one into it and have the energy used for that. It’s handy, and probably will be hell for the Witches around here.”
“Okay, guy controlling darkness, you making new glyphs… That’s all well and good, but you still haven’t actually explained what’s going on with you? What did the human world go nuts in the last seven years?” Eda asked, wanting to get to the meaty stuffy. Luz shrugged. “I wouldn’t know, I haven’t been there in the last seven years.” Both women looked at her incredulously. “No seriously.” She held up a hand. “I don’t know what happened with Belos’s machine, but it didn’t send me home. When I got pulled through it, I ended up on a completely different world. There were humans there, but along with them there were giants, fishmen, minks… All kinds of different races of people. Along with plenty of monsters and other strange things. See basically…” Luz began explaining the last few years of her as a pirate. The ups, the downs, and everything in between. Afterwards, Eda leaned back in her seat, looking like she was trying to even believe half of what Luz had told her. “Okay, so your power comes from this Devil Fruit thing? It gave you a bile sack?” “Well, I wouldn’t say it gave a bile sack, rather it gave me an actual magical core. A center of energy within myself that I can manipulate in anyway I want. Bella couldn’t find anything attached to my heart whenever she did a medical exam.” Luz did her best to explain, honestly even after all this time, she didn’t have a complete understanding of how her own devil fruit worked.
“Still, it’s hard to believe that such a power can be granted just by eating one of those fruits... “ Lilith stated, attempting to wrap her own mind around things. “There must be some kind of draw back to it though, correct?” Luz nodded. “Yeah, it probably won’t be a major problem around here, but eating one causes the sea to turn it’s back on you.” “And that means…?” Eda raised an eyebrow.
Luz giggled, waving her hand a bit. “Sorry, I have to remember that most people aren’t going to even know a small amount about them now. Basically it means I can’t swim anymore.” The sisters looked at her with widened eyes. “Wait, it made you forget how to swim!? I mean you could just learn how to again, right?” Eda asked, looking oddly at Luz as she laughed. “No, I remember how to swim, I just can’t. See, if I was to fall into any kind of standing water, a lake, the ocean, a tub of water...  It would completely sap all my strength and keep me from using my powers, on top of that I’d start sinking like a rock.” “So we keep you away from large bodies of water, understood.” Lilith said with a nod, before noticing the young woman looking to her right hand every now and then. “Is there something wrong?” Luz jumped a bit, thinking she had been subtle about it and sighed. “Sort of, like I told you before, our crew was in the middle of a war just before I ended up back here.” She saw both nod and continued. “Well, I don’t know what’s happened to the others… If they’re alive, if they made it back to their own world and families. I’m worried.” “You cared about them.” Eda stated. “Of course!” Luz shot up, surprising them a bit. “They were like family to me, we went through hell and back together and I didn’t even get to say goodbye, again!” Luz was tearing up a bit thinking about the others. This wasn’t some little war like it had been with the Payback War or even like the war of Wano the Straw Hats had started against Kaido and Big Mom. This one had quite literally set the world on fire. The Straw Hats and those backing them taking on the world to make Luffy the King of the Pirates, their own flag thrown in with the Rubber Man as well, going up against the World Government and its own secrets.  Add in the remains of the Beast Pirates and Big Mom Pirates, and you had yourself a war that was going to turn everything on its head, no matter who won. And the thought that she’d left her own behind was eating at her. That was, until she heard Eda speak up. “Hey Kiddo, what’s that on your arm?” She asked, pointing to Luz’s right hand. Said young woman blinked and looked down, only for her eyes to shoot wide as she fell back. There, forming on her arm was a marking that only looked familiar to herself. She felt her eyes well up as she traced a hand over it, hoping it wasn’t some fake. Her fingers traced over a dark purple dragon like design that started about her mid forearm and wrapped around till it’s head was on the back of her palm, mouth open and trying to bite down on a green gem like design. “Luz, Luz, Boiling Isles to Luz!” Eda called, snapping her fingers to get her attention. “Huh, wha!?” Luz blinked looking at her. “What is that?” She asked again. “Right right, sorry... “ She wiped some tears away and held up the arm. “It’s a Hoard Mark, something that my crewmate Spike gave all the commanders, and since it’s here… it means he’s got to be alive still!” She grinned and then got a look of realization. “Oh! This means I can change clothes! I know I put away some spares for sure…” Luz mumbled as she suddenly reached into her pocket and seemed to start digging around in it.
“Uh, Kid, I don’t think you’ll fi-” Eda started to try and reason with her former student, only to pause and eyes go wide as not only did Luz’s arm go deeper into her pocket, but she started pulling out large objects. “No… No… Not there…” She mumbled, pulling out a few large pieces of treasure, a massive anchor that shook the house when she set it down, there was a moment when an elephant's head popped out of her pocket and was shoved back in. “I swear, Spike would steal anything…” She mumbled before her eyes lit up. “There it is!” She called out, pulling out a large clothing trunk from her pocket, it was marked with her name. She set it to the side as both sisters looked curiously at the trunk, which she popped open, showing that the inside had a large number of clothes inside. “Okay… Um, how did you do that?” Even Eda’s hair couldn’t store that many things away, certainly not as large. “Huh? Isn’t this Adora’s…” Luz mumbled as she pulled out a red jacket, before shrugging and putting it away. “Like I said, it's the Hoard Mark. See, Spike ate the Hoard Hoard Fruit, which made him a hoarding person. He could take anything he wanted and store it away into a separate pocket dimension for his personal use later.” She explained while looking over a shirt that held the Crew’s Jolly Roger on it, it was a dark purple color. “Hmmm, maybe… Anyway, he was able to develop his powers to let him give other people a special mark that gave them access to the storage space as well, just have to have it active and reach into some kind of container. Can be a bag, a pocket, box… Anything like that and it always expands to fit whatever you’re getting.” She pulled out a dark purple dress shirt and held it over her chest. “Think I should go formal? I am planning on meeting up with Amity tonight.” She smirked, giving a bit of a mischievous look. “You’d slay her for sure kid.” Eda laughed. Lilith giggled a bit and nodded. “Yes, I’m sure she’d love it, but try not to get your hopes too high, it may not be the same now.” She tried to warn her.
Luz started getting a few other things, a pair of black dress pants, black tie, and a black blazer to go over everything else, and nodded. “Oh I’m sure, I know that I certainly had my fair share of relationships over the last seven years. At least two serious ones, but that doesn’t mean I can’t try and see if anyone is in the way.” She smirked, grabbing one last thing and closing up the trunk to put away. “Guess I’ll go get ready, it’s nearly time for our meet up.” She said, heading to go get a shower.

prompt: cold
Quick note: it's supposed to be for the Cold prompt from our ZoTash discord, but mine has a cold-ish theme, so forgive me anyhow. Your gal here is having a writer’s block, but I wanted to inspire myself on the LuNa fic from HerPrettySmile. If you're into LuNa, you should definitely check it out. It's one of my favorites fics!
The first time Sanji noticed them was back in Loguetown. When they were fleeing, Zoro was having a fight with a pretty lady and the cook had been outraged. The mosshead had never shown any interest in any woman whatsoever, so seeing him having a fight with one was absurd.
She was a swordsman, the blonde noticed. A perfect match, he thought. He never knew if the first-mate even had any interest in relationships, but if he does one day, the cook thought someone like that pretty lady would fit.
Sanji had never known what was the result of the fight though. He wanted to stay at the time, but it was raining and so fucking cold, his clothes soaked, and he couldn’t even light his cigarette. So he trusted the Mosshead wouldn’t do anything stupid and went on his way. Zoro didn’t say anything when he came back to the ship and the cook never asked.
However, he didn’t seem happy about something, and Sanji wondered what happened to the pretty lady.
Well, it’s not like we’ll meet again.
The first time Nami noticed that there was something odd with the relationship between Zoro and the Navy Lady was way back in Alabasta. She had never seen the green-haired man so agitated and flustered (and it wasn’t because of the fucking heat from that freaking country), not even when he was dealing with Sanji. That woman was definitely weird and also dangerous with her unceasing wish of chasing them.
He had run away from the woman with glasses and Nami was stunned. She remembers him saying “She’s the only one I can’t fight” and the surprise hit her hard as a punch from Luffy. The only one he can’t fight? There’s no such a thing in Roronoa Zoro’s vocabulary — he’d never back down from a fight. Ever! Especially against a marine, even if she’s was a woman.
She tried to drag the truth out of him, but to no avail. Zoro simply ignored her at the time and all the other times she had questioned him. Sometimes, he’d even give her a cold shoulder for poking her nose in too much.
Well, whatever. She doesn’t seem like she can pose a threat to him anyway.
Robin was almost sure there was something between the two swordsmen and she figured it out on Punk Hazard. She had seen how it was a really complicated and strained relationship and probably Zoro had his reasons. It was not like him to lose his temper over simple words and with strangers.
She noticed how Zoro tried to act cold as that God-forsaken island towards the marine lady, but his efforts proved to be fruitless. He did lose his mind with her during the battle, but wasn’t able to leave her behind to die from Caeser’s gas. He had even bandaged her almost frostbitten shoulder!
But there were two reasons she had been led to believe they were not strangers to each other: while running with the kids and the G-5 sailors, she heard them gossiping how the “Swirly Brow bro” had said the “Sword bro” was a softie inside and they didn’t need to worry about “Captain-chan”. Robin agreed, it was very well put. That was the first.
The second was when they were at the victory celebration, pirates and sailors together, she saw Tashigi fetching a glove for Zoro because his hands were cold. They argued in the end, yes, but she didn’t miss the looks they gave each other when they thought the other wasn’t looking.
Both seemed curious, but Tashigi had a longing in her eyes and he had recognition in his good eye.
Oh my, something did change.
Usopp had never paid attention to that Navy Lady that Sanji and Robin would talk about sometimes. He just knew she was Smoker’s subordinate, she was not that strong and had a weird rivalry with Zoro. He didn’t know why she even bothered considering their gap in strength was huge.
Until he saw her fight in Wano. She was not strong as Zoro and Law yet, but she stood her ground pretty fucking beautifully in order to protect the Strawhat’s swordsman. Which was odd, taking into account her past behavior and the way she acted towards him when she first landed on the Samurai’s country.
Tashigi had been straight up cold towards Zoro, full of icy remarks, and indifferent looks. But that was before their swordsman almost got himself killed. Zoro was on the floor and Tashigi protected him, fighting tooth and nail. She had won and it had been a pretty impressive battle, but, in the end, she ended up badly hurt.
Chopper took care of her, of course, but the other strange thing was that Zoro did not leave her side. He even stood up to Smoker when the older man demanded him to get the fuck out of her bedroom.
Zoro did not obey. And Usopp was flabbergasted.
She was just a marine and initially, the sniper thought Zoro was just doing that out of obligation. The woman had saved his life, after all. But then, he seemed pretty fucking happy when she woke up (even if they got back to yelling at each other) in his own peculiar way and for some reason, started to follow her around.
Her frigid demeanor was no more and she would even send a smile his way sometimes. They’d go back to arguing in the end though.
Those two are really troublesome.
Brook was old enough to spot correctly the moment when the pretty Navy Lady stopped being Zoro’s enemy and became his friend. He also knew they were a step away from being lovers, but not yet. Their established friendship was recent, but they weren’t able to hide the looks they gave each other all the time.
Only when the other wasn’t looking, of course. He had a strong longing in his good eye and she had recognition in hers. In Brook’s opinion, they were two kids dancing around each other, without the courage to stop.
It wasn’t just the looks. It was the small gestures — the way he would wrap a scarf around her neck when she was shivering because “you’ll catch a cold and fuck everything up, so take care of yourself, woman”, the way they’d always stay or fight together or how he would sulk in the corner when she was giving Law more attention than necessary.
Or, especially, how he gave one of his earings to her before the girl left to end the revolution she, Smoker and Aokiji started in the Navy. She had looked at him with surprise and he was asking for a promise in complete silence. Tashigi smiled and nodded, and maybe that was the step they needed.
Yohohoho, young love. Always an adventure.
Smoker had always known how that brat was special to that silly little girl. He knew since she had let the Strawhats go in Alabasta, when she had blushed when that fucking boy carried her in Punk Hazard, when she had stood between death and the Pirate Hunter in Wano, risking her life for the sake of that punk.
The Vice-Admiral also knew that, from the brat’s part, Tashigi has always been equally special. He knew when he saw him saving her in Punk Hazard and when he stood up to him in Wano. He noticed when his cold demeanor turned into a friendly one and their bickering stopped being full of hate and poisonous only to become something amicable. Or even when he had cuddled with her in a freaking frozen night.
When all was said and done, he saw her run to the pirate and hug him, face full of relief and happiness for seeing him alive. The brat had been fucking hurt while protecting her with all his might. Smoker had to admit that the boy would hunt anyone who would hurt her.
They had mended their wounds, one never leaving the other’s side. Smoker was okay with it, what could he do? The heart wants what it fucking wants. He just didn’t need to catch them in a lip-lock in the middle of the party, kissing like there was no tomorrow and fucking oblivious to the people cheering around them.
The G-5 men, the Strawhats, and the Revolutionary Army all screaming. Smoker didn’t know why they were so surprised, he has always known to be honest. And it was the same reason why he was not stupefied when she handed her resign letter followed by a wedding invitation.
Her smile had been radiant as she was on the day of her marriage. It was extremely simple, it had quite some people and they were dressed in traditional Wano clothes. It almost didn’t have any ceremony, they both didn’t believe in any religion after all. It was supposed to be just a party, considering that parties are the Strawhat’s specialty.
Everyone was drinking and dancing when he approached the fucking brat (now a full-grown man, to be fair, but Smoker would still consider him a punk), nodding and glaring at him. The pirate returned the glare and the now-Admiral just smirked. He didn’t want to play the father figure there, but someone had too.
“I’ll kill you if you hurt her. I don’t fucking care if you’re the greatest swordsman in the world or any of that shit. I will kick your sorry ass, pirate,” Smoker used his most menacing tone to get his point across.
Zoro nodded and seriously, replied, “I won’t. You have my word.”
Smoker eyed him, taking all his features, from his stern and determined look to his strong posture. The brat-turned-man seemed to be speaking the truth.
“But aren’t you too old to be threatening people, Admiral?”, Zoro tilted his head and showed his usual cocky smile.
Smoker only rolled his eyes and turned his back to the current greatest swordsman in the world. What the hell that silly girl was thinking when she decided to marry that pirate?
Nevertheless, he had to admit the boy had some balls and in the end, Smoker admitted she’d be okay. They’d be okay. He’d miss her, but people always say that letting kids go is hard as fuck, right?
He snorted and lighted a single cigar.
Fucking brat.

Kanzashi (Ornamental Hair Pin)
Disclaimer: One piece owned by Oda. If I owned it, wouldn't really change a thing other than it would be updated faster and ASL bros will forever be protected. This is my take on Nami’s Onigashima raid attire from ch 975 in the manga, and my first ever fic.
This is also posted on my ff.net account by the same username if some people use that site :)
Word count: 3k+
Rating: T (for a tiny tiny coarse (?) language, but mostly K)
Genre: Romance, Friendship, Humor, Just pure fluff... i think.
Pairing: Zoro/ Nami
Note: Italicized words in ' ' are thoughts. The part where everything was italicized was a recollection of the past.
* * *
He extended his right hand once again. Tightening his grip on his new sword. That feeling of sucking his ryuuou is no more. The crows nest is also still intact, testament to his now control on this 'cursed' sword. As he moved to place his sword on its scabbard by his waist, he felt something shift in his haramaki. And stuck his hand in to take out the offending object.
'Oh.'
He thought, staring into the dainty object on his calloused hand.
* * * * *
A few days earlier…
"Momo was sent 20 years into the future… and stayed 8 years old. And that's why his younger sister is 26 now…" Zoro said recalling the perverted brat's face.
'That would mean that brat should technically be 28 by now!' He thought, his frown deepening as he remembered how that pervert snuggled into a certain navigator's chest.
He tried to shake off the disturbing thought of a fully grown man with his face on Nami's chest as he listened to rest of Hiyori's story.
* * *
Zoro tried to rest after his conversation with Hiyori, but can't seem to take off his good eye from the girl's head. Noting the bright color of her hair, he can't help but think of another troublesome girl with bright colored hair. How that hair was so short when he first met her, and how long it has gotten when the whole crew got back together after 2 years of being separated. He never seemed to remember if said girl ever adorned her hair with such trinkets as that on this girl's hair. Sure she would sometimes tie it up, or put in a 'pig tail' as they call it, but never with such decorations. Save for that time in Zou, with that beaded thing draped on her hair and shoulder… and that… dress. Noticing where his thoughts were dangerously heading, with his face almost scowling, he steeled himself to look at the blue haired girl's head once again, staring at the ornament placed on top of it.
"Beautiful." He thought. He was never one to be interested into such things. He's not that damned love cook after all. But for some reason his eye seem to fixate itself on that ornament. And no, it has nothing to do with how he imagined it adorning a certain orange head. At least that's what he kept telling himself.
"Eeeh!" His thoughts were broken by the sound of the older girl accompanying him and a tiny laugh from the younger one. Shifting his gaze to her face, he noted she was holding her palms to her cheeks in apparent shock, and… flattery?
'Wait. Did I say that out loud?' The swordsman frowned.
'No sense to keeping it to myself then', he sighed as he sat up.
"OI, where do you get those things?"
"Huh? I mean… pardon?" The girl said, obviously not expecting what he said and losing her 'lady like' manners for a moment.
"That thing. On your hair. That flowery thing? Where can I get one of those?"
The girl stared at him for a moment then brought her hand up to one of the ornaments on her hair. "You mean this kanzashi?"
He nodded. Not really bothering what it's called.
"Well I have a lot of these back at the flower capital, being an oiran and all. You can buy them there too, but they come at a price." She said, bringing up her index finger to her lips as though in thought. "Why? Are you interested in getting one Zorojuro?"
Zoro frowned, 'back at the flower capital? And with a price?' His frown deepening. 'So much for hoping to maybe get one.' With the witch always seeming to find ways to rack up his debt, he never seemed to have money on his person. 'Heh, see what you get for being money hungry, witch? Can't even give you something nice even if I wanted to.' He thought with an almost smirk then caught himself. 'Why the hell am I even bothering to get something for her anyway?' His almost smirk turning into an irritated frown as he scratched the back of his head.
The older girl observed as the swordsman changed facial expressions as if having a conversation with himself. "Zorojuro, if you want I can give you one. I have one still with me after all, they seem to put a lot on my head and had to remove some when I left. They tend to be uncomfortable after all when there's a lot." She said with a smile.
"Really? That would be great thanks!" He said eyeing her.
"Of course. It's the least I can do. You saved us after all." The older girl smiled, thinking it weird why a man would want a Kanzashi. 'Could other men be wearing this outside of Wano?' She thought. As far as her memory serves her, no men on the ship they were on back when she was very young had such thing on their heads. She even tried picturing a certain pineapple headed boy with a floral kanzashi on his head but quickly pushed the thought out as it looked really weird. 'Unless…' She laughed softly as she thought of the other reason why a man would want a beautiful ornament.
'That witch's luck never seem to run out after all huh?' He thought. Then he heard soft giggling from his two companions and grumpily tried to get back to taking a nap.
* * * * *
Back at the sunny, present day…
"Luffy you can't put that there! It's not gonna fit! I'm not going to tend to that after you ruin it over something so dumb." Nami scolded their ever so childish captain as she found him, along with Chopper and Usopp in front of the women's quarters. The boys were trying out the Samurai gear for their upcoming battle and Luffy was trying to put a helmet on top of his strawhat.
"Eh! But Nami! I need to look cool for battle too! I mean look at them!" He gestured to the other two Strawhats who were busy gushing over their attire with Chopper in a Samurai Helmet and Usopp in an armor and a forehead protector.
Nami sighed. "Well you have to choose just one! Either your hat or the helmet."
"Wha- No Nami! I have to wear my Hat!" The rubber boy said, as if what she said was just impossible.
Nami felt a vein popping on her temple. "Then don't wear the helmet! Why don't you just wear the armor? That way you will still look, uh, 'cool'."
"No way!" the stubborn captain said with a pout. "I won't be able to stretch freely with that!"
Nami sighed heavily, this boy won't drop this until he's satisfied he's wearing something 'cool'.
It was then that she remembered something. "Wait here." She ordered her captain as if ordering a child and went inside the women's quarters.
* * *
After a few minutes, she emerged from the room, relieved to find that Luffy actually stayed put instead of trying to find some kind of way to both wear his hat and the damn helmet. The other two boys with him have now run off to admire Franky who is also now, in a samurai helmet.
"Will this make you look cool?" She said as she handed him a black coat. She can't really remember when she got the garment but does recall thinking it looked fitting for a captain.
Luffy eyed the coat, seeming unconvinced that it would actually make him look cool. But as he grabbed and unfolded it, a grin slowly crept up his face. "Hey this looks like the one Shanks wore!" He said as he eagerly put the coat on. "Ooooh! You're right, this does look cool! Thanks Nami!"
Nami smiled back, glad to have pleased their stubborn Captain.
"Here, now you can have this! Shishishishi!" The boy excitedly pushed the samurai helmet and armor towards her.
"Ehh! I'm not gonna wear that! That would just cover my beautiful body!" The navigator protested as she hugged her curves. "And I won't be caught dead looking so ridiculous!" She barked at Luffy. But then a thought came to her… she does need to protect her 'beautiful' body after all, maybe it won't be so bad to try at least the armor? So she did.
"Oooh! Looks cool Nami!" Luffy effusively praised.
"You think so captain?" Nami smiled as she can't help but to be enthused as well. The armor doesn't look bad, it actually even hugged her figure. "Guess I'll wear it after all", she said smiling at her captain.
"Now the helmet!"
"Wha-?!" Nami's smile immediately dropped as she tried to fend off Luffy's hands as he tried to put the helmet on her head himself.
"No way am I going to wear that!" She screeched as her hand connected to her captain's head fast.
"No cool, Nami." Luffy pouted as he nursed the now enlarging bump on his head.
"You're all 'cool' now captain. Now go bother someone else!"
She sighed as she watched her captain run off laughing towards the rest of the Strawhats who were gushing over their new battle gear.
* * * * *
Inside the women's quarters, Nami adjusted the armor on her body as she inspected herself on the mirror. 'Now what to do with my hair? Keep it up maybe?' she thought.
Then there was a knock on the door.
"Come in." She shouted, not really paying mind to whoever was knocking as she started to gather her hair.
* * *
On the other side of the door, a certain moss haired swordsman tried to maintain a straight face, not really sure what he's doing knocking on the women's quarters.
"Come in." He heard her say.
He sighed and went in, thinking what he's doing is not weird.
No, not weird at all for him. He tried to convince himself.
* * *
"Hey."
"Hm?" Nami turned her gaze towards the door as the person she was least expecting to come over to the women's quarters walked in.
Zoro's gaze ran over the other occupant of the room. Noting the short…uh, kimono (?) dress and the armor on top of it. Can you really call something so short a Kimono? Never mind, he need not to boggle his mind over women's clothing anyway. Nothing new with her and seemingly shrunk clothes after all. Not like he disliked it but that's not saying he's obsessed with it like a certain perverted dartboard brow. It does looked good on her though, anything probably will. 'Wait what?' He caught himself with that thought. He shrugged the offensive thought and distracted himself with the armor instead, now that's new.
Nami watched as Zoro walked towards her. As he closed in on her, she decided to break the silence.
"What?"
He stood in front of her and frowned slightly with his gaze stuck on the navigator.
"Zo-" She was about to say, as she noted his gaze, the slight frown, and how he seemed to be in some kind of deep thought but was cut off by one of his hands suddenly being held towards her.
She looked at said hand then shifted her gaze toward his face. "Uhh… huh?"
Seemingly embarrassed, he looked away then opened the hand extended towards her.
Still confused, her gaze was back to his hand and was surprised to see a flowery ornament there. She paused, trying to grasp what's going on.
"Wha-?"
"Just take it." He said as his gaze shifted towards her face for a quick moment then away from her again as he tried to look annoyed.
'What's with him?' She thought as he observed him. This is the second time he cut her off in the few minutes he's been in the room. If this was any other situation, she would've nagged at him already, but... there is something different here, she felt.
"Uhm… okay?" She gently took the ornament from his hand all the while suspiciously eyeing him. He then immediately retracted his hand after.
Bringing the ornament closer to her face, she inspected it with interest with the fingers of her other hand. It's a hair ornament. She noted. A flower, with petals dangling below it. 'And it's pretty, no, it's beautiful. It looks expensive too. Wait, is Zoro… giving this to me?' Her cheeks seeming to heat up as she mulled on the idea.
She looked at him, a smile helplessly growing on her lips. "It's pretty! Where did you get it?"
Hearing her cheerful tone, his gaze was drawn back to her and was taken aback when he was greeted by a smile.
"Eh?" His previously 'annoyed' face softening. "Uh... some girl?" He replied.
"Some… girl?' Her eyes narrowing on him. "What girl?" Oh she's really curious now, not really sure why it mattered who this girl he got this ornament he's giving her from is.
"The girl with the blue hair, that pervert brat's sister." He answered coolly.
"Oh, that girl." She said in a soft voice. 'He got this from the most beautiful girl in Wano? Why? And… how?' The idea unknowingly consuming her thoughts as she tried to wrap her head around how Zoro ended up giving her such a beautiful hair ornament from the 'most beautiful girl' in the current country that they're in.
He can see as the gears on Nami's head start to be turning now and continued to observe her face as she seemed to be lost on her thoughts.
A good few seconds passed and he decided to end this slightly awkward moment. 'Look at me for once finally shutting up the ever so loud witch now', he snorted inwardly.
Then he sighed. "Just-"
She was broken from her trance as she looked up to meet his eye.
"Just thought it might look good on you." He declared, easily.
She stared at him for a while, noting his relaxed, earnest face. 'Did he just say?-'
Seeing the gears on her head turn again, he realized what he just admitted. Lone eye suddenly enlarging. If his left eye could, it probably would too.
Her mouth opened, about to speak, when he beat her to it.
"W- witch! I meant you might like it! The hell I care what looks good on you!" He said hurriedly, a little loudly, and almost choking. Then he gritted his teeth. 'Not that anything would look bad on her anyway' some invasive voice muttered in his mind, startling him. 'The heck was that?!' He thought, mentally kicking himself.
Amber eyes enlarged. Caught off guard. Boy was she caught off guard by that. She refocused her gaze on him, noticing the inner struggle he seem to be now in. Turning her gaze on the object on her hand, the very thing that brought this situation upon them, a smile once again began to blossom on the navigator's lips. 'It IS really pretty' she admitted to herself, with a slight blush powdering her cheeks and that smile she no longer can seem to fight off from reaching her eyes.
"Thank you, Zoro."
The swordsman halted his inner struggle and met her eyes. Now it's his turn to be caught off guard.
She's smiling. Not the mischievous trademark cat thief smile. But that smile. That smile he didn’t know until now he really liked seeing. That smile she has whenever they succeeded fighting off a great enemy. That smile she had when they all got back together on the Sunny after 2 years of being apart. That bright, genuine smile that sometimes makes you forget it's the same girl that can rob blind anyone she wanted or hit you in the head so hard that bumps would grow ON TOP of bumps. Not that he would have her other way, truthfully.
The swordsman's lips can't help but turn ever so slightly upwards. "Ah."
He can't tell how long they were smiling at each other like that. But he can't say he didn't like this moment of change from their usual banter. Not that he would really deny liking those too, at least to himself, but not to others.
Unsure of what to say next, now satisfied with his 'mission', he turned to leave.
As he turned his back, the navigator brought up the ornament to admire it further. 'He really thought to give me this huh?' Their resident, lazy ass, always napping, can't find his way out of a box, swordsman. 'Turns out he's not just all, steel, muscle, and devilishly handsome face after all." Her face about to break into a grin once more. 'Wait. Handsome face?' She blinked. Her face now again starting to heat up. 'Wait no! This is Zoro we're talking about! Why am I suddenly like this?' She silently gasped, wide eyed, her other hand resting on her cheek while the other still grasped the hair ornament.
Zoro was about to push the door open when she suddenly spoke.
"But hey! Don't go thinking this means your debt will be reduced!"
He cringed, one hand resting on his swords, the other still plastered to the door knob. So much for thinking they actually had a nice moment there. He sighed, turning to look back at her, a scowl starting to form on his face.
"… s- so don't go injuring yourself or even getting yourself killed out there! Or I'll have to electrocute you back to life and drag you back from hell to make sure you can pay me back!" She blurted looking a bit flustered.
"Tsk." He said, bringing a finger to his ear. "Yeah yeah, not like you can drag me back from hell anyway. I'll be the one dragging you down there after all." His previous almost scowl now an amused- trying to look annoyed look.
Her hands are now on her hips as she puffed her cheek and stared at him.
… "So make sure you don't go down there on your own just yet, witch." He said staring directly into her eyes, now smirking. He then proceeded to turn and walk out the door and was about to close it behind him but not without hearing a sigh and the word "idiot".
* * * * *
Once alone in the room, Nami looked at the ornament in her hand once again. 'Well that was… nice', she thought, a soft chuckle escaping her.
"Guess I won't be putting my hair up after all."
** End.**

Bonus:
With her new hair ornament now fixed near her right temple, Nami headed out the women's quarters. Shutting the door on her back, she noticed the samurai helmet their captain previously tried to put on her head. 'See if I had that on, I won't be able to wear this.' She sighed with a smile as she tucked her hair on her right ear.
A sudden thought hit her then. 'What if…' She held out her climatact. 'He would be really helpful, might as well have him fit the theme'.
"Oh Zeus~"
"Woooh! The inside of your tact really is the best!" a delighted cloud exclaimed.
"Hmm, I wonder if it will work? Hey Zeus, I was thinking, how 'bout we replace that cap with this?" Nami suggested as she picked up the helmet on the ground.
"Huh?" The cloud said, curious but complying after remembering how her new 'master' can be when ticked off. "Okay I guess…", the cloud said as he lowered his position to allow the girl to put the helmet on his head.
"Oh, not bad after all!" The navigator commented, cheerily.
'Someone’s in a good mood.' The cloud thought looking at his new 'master' and smiling himself as he looked up at his new hat.
"Hey, the cloud is now looking cool too! Shishishishi." An amused laugh can now be heard from across the deck, followed by the cheer of a certain Tanuki, 'Almighty God Usopp' who once lead and entire army of samurais back in one of his adventures, and a 'superRR cool' robot samurai.

There you go. My first ever fic. Wow the last time I actually wrote a story was maybe a little more than 10 years ago? I was but an awkward teen back then. Now I'm but an awkward adult.
Just had to headcanon this after chap. 975 came out. Was lying in bed at 1 am and just thought ‘hey what if?...’. So here I am, trying to be productive by putting my daydreams into writing.
Hope you like this. If not, then it's cool too. :)

Contingent
con·tin·gent (adj.) Dependent on; conditional.
There's only one thing Trafalgar Law is truly afraid of.
(Or: Bepo will be damned if he loses Law just when he got him back.)

Set between Zou and Wano. Read Chapter 2 here.
***
To say the Polar Tang is a tight fit is an accurate, if unfortunate, assessment.
Years ago, the shipwright they commissioned to make their submarine-turned-ship a reality had cautioned them about the limited capacity. Back in the North Blue, the logistics of cramming more than two dozen people into close quarters with high-pressure machinery seemed a far-away problem at best.
That was long before Jean Bart entered the picture, patient as their helmsman had been to accommodate the narrow spaces of his new home. The nightshift Uni and Clione had pulled to present him with a set of his very own Heart Pirates-branded overalls the next day probably had something to do with it, too.
And maybe it’s because they haven’t had guests in a while (or at least, none that were conscious enough to count), or that Law’s paranoia has rubbed off on Bepo more than he likes to admit… When their mismatched group of allies take the first step on deck, Bepo is watching them like a hawk.
The fact of the matter is: Bepo loves the Tang. They all do. She’s the one that carried them from the North’s frigid waters all the way into the New World. She’s the best. All they – pirates and samurai alike – give her are curious glances, though, neither overly positive nor notably negative as they follow Trafalgar Law into the bowels of his submarine.
Well, with exception of that Strawhat cyborg, Franky. The moment they’re inside he’s gone, fawning over metal walls and neatly-welded seams like they’re the delicate linework of an artist; all Ikkaku can do to prevent any damage to her baby is to run after him. Her harsh reminders to be careful grow fainter and fainter as the rest moves on.
Ikkaku was against this whole alliance thing and yet, Bepo assumes it’s only a matter of time until their chief engineer is charmed, too. It’s one of those inevitable things that tend to happen around the Strawhats.
In any case, Law doesn’t seem bothered and so Bepo isn’t, either. It’s not like the captain lets them dwell on it for long, anyways – he shuffles their guests into the galley like a goose herds its chicks and gives Penguin a handful of minutes to organize some snacks for everyone before the crew is called to the control room. In one big gulp, Bepo swallows the rest of his sandwich and off he goes.
He gets there just as Law emerges from the captain’s cabin in a fresh change of clothes and still-moist hair. “Ready?”, Law asks him, looking worn out still but sounding excited by his own standards, and Bepo nods with a fanged grin.
“Ready, Captain.”
The tanks are flooded and the engine purrs below their feet. From there, the Heart Pirates flit in and out and around Trafalgar Law like blood cells under a microscope and Bepo?
Bepo stands by Law’s side, one eye on the Log Pose and the other on the currents, and feels his pulse even out. There’s nothing like home.
The Tang quiets to a comforting hum once the course is set and optimal velocity is achieved, a background noise as familiar to Bepo as the cadence of Law’s voice. The residual heat from the engine room is making everyone but Bepo sweat in their suits, and he’d feel smug about it if his paws and nose weren’t wet with perspiration too–
It’s then that he remembers their allies, more specifically the only people without proper gear to be in a submerged submarine, and Bepo curses his own neglect under his breath for all of a second. By that point Bart is already letting go of the helm to pat Bepo's head, an automatic gesture of comfort.
“I told them to wait”, he says and shrugs a bit sheepishly because, as it turns out, the Strawhats actually listened. Bepo finds them lounging around one of the tables, just where they left them; the three from Wano Country are huddled in the corner a bit further away, heads stuck together to catch up. The Strawhats are in the middle of a round of some card game, it seems, even if their expressions are serious enough to make Bepo wonder if there’s more to it. He hovers in their periphery, hesitant to interrupt.
Suddenly, Nico Robin looks up and smiles. Usopp groans, throwing his hand away.
“I give up! You’re impossible, Robin. Impossible.”
“Bear”, Zoro greets him, gaze sliding lazily from his cards to Bepo. “You any good at Continental?”
“Uh”, Bepo replies intelligently. Conti-what? A glimpse at the cards Robin plays doesn’t reveal any epiphanies to him, either. “Sorry. I don’t know what that is.”
“It’s a card game from the East Blue”, Robin explains while she holds out a patient hand for Zoro’s cards as well. It’s one summoned by her powers, not that Zoro seems to mind as he rolls his eye and relinquishes the (presumably bad) hand he had. “Nami is a real devil at it.”
Usopp leans far back in his chair. “Playing this without her to knock out Robin early on is hopeless”, he adds with a dramatic sigh.
Bepo’s ears twitch in interest. Nami, their navigator? “Ah. Perhaps you can show me–” The sentence crashes into the realization that he's letting himself be distracted, again. “Later! Show me later. You guys need suits, and a tour around the– Wait, where’s Franky?”
Robin chuckles rather fondly. “Don’t mind him”, she tells Bepo, “Franky is easily excitable by the prospect of a new ship to tinker with”, and before Bepo can feel put out by her just deciding that, she glances over Bepo’s shoulder. A pause, pensive.
“I can reel him in, though. Your ship, your rules, Mr. Traffy.”
A huff confirms Law’s presence behind him a moment before he puts a hand on Bepo’s elbow, undemanding. Out of habit, Bepo nudges their shoulders together to acknowledge his captain properly and Law’s fingers tighten, once.
“Better get it out of Franky's system now, I suppose. We’re still close enough to the surface that an explosion or two won’t kill us all.”
Law’s voice is utterly deadpan and it’s most certainly a joke – Robin is snickering good-naturedly, too – but Bepo still gives his captain a look. These are the Strawhats they’re talking about.
Law just shakes his head, a movement so subtle it might as well not exist at all. Bepo lets out a breath. No sudden deaths by drowning today, how nice.
“As Bepo said: You need suits and a tour. Wano people, you too. Zoro, you need a guide.”
“Oi.”
“Hey, why the suits?”
That last one comes from Usopp, and Bepo opens his mouth to offer a perfectly rational answer–
“So the Tang doesn’t boil you alive”, Law says and gives them a sweet smile. It drops off his lips immediately. “Any other questions? I’ll send Uni over for your measurements. He’s the guy with the bandana. Shachi will show you around. Bepo, a word?”
Bepo nods along and… Huh?
As first mate, tour duty should fall onto him – after all, it’s a good way for him to gauge who exactly they invited into their home – but something in Law’s tone makes Bepo’s instincts perk up and pay attention and oh, Law hasn’t let go of his elbow yet.
Bepo doesn’t have time to ask his captain what’s wrong before blue engulfs them both and the world shifts around them.
*
Shambles is a mixture of falling and being held; for Bepo, the unique feeling of Law’s powers is a long-kept comfort, simultaneously a vanguard and the last line of defense in every battle they have fought together.
When it fades, Bepo finds himself in the captain’s cabin – the sight of floor-to-ceiling bookshelves lining the walls is a familiar one, the whirlwind of documents all across the desk not so much – and there’s no time to ponder on that before Law holds his hands inches from Bepo’s nose and tells him to look.
“Wha–?”
“Just– Humor me. What do you see?”
Bepo snaps his jaws shut because Law is serious, the air of snarky rudeness gone without a trace, and Bepo looks and sees... Well, nothing. There’s tan skin and fingernails kept obsessively neat; there are the precise lines of the tattoos that have been there for years.
Law’s hands are trembling.
“I don’t see anything, Captain”, Bepo says honestly. Gently, too, because anything that involves Law insisting like that is wrapped in caution tape and staked with warning signs, do not enter, all the way up to the ocean’s surface.
Law curses, then, shaking out his arms in an effort to stop the tremors and it’s wrong, for a surgeon’s hands to be that unsteady. He starts tugging at his clothes and Bepo watches, concern swelling bigger and bigger in his chest – Law’s hat falls to the ground unnoticed when he pulls his shirt over his head in one rough motion.
“Look”, he repeats, golden eyes gone cold and hard. His chest heaves with how heavy he’s panting, muscles taught under the strain; Law’s arm is the only thing left covered, bandaged all the way to his shoulder.
“Anything?”
Bepo does, expression carefully blank as he forces himself to look past the ink and all the things that make Law Law and directly at what’s hidden in plain sight: faded by time, he spots the outline of pale-white scars that have always been there, pre-dating even the fateful day they met.
Then, Bepo shakes his head. “Nothing. There’s nothing, Captain. It’s the same as always.”
“Honest?”
It’s a rushed breath, barely a question at all. It takes Bepo back a decade, the raw fear in it unchanged and belonging to a boy just scratching manhood, struggling to trust the one friend he has in the world. “Honest”, Bepo promises like he always has, and for all of his twenty-two years the ache in his heart feels ancient.
“Talk to me, Law. Please. You’re scaring me.”
Finally, Law inhales sharply and nods, fingers dragging through his hair the way he does after a close call, another life barely saved.
“Something’s not right. I didn’t notice with everything else going on but I’m tired and everything hurts? It’s like I’m about to pass out, fucking… faint like I used Room too much and things get fuzzy around the edges but I haven’t. All I’ve been doing is sleep and eat, I don’t– It makes no sense. And it’s not going away, Bepo.”
Bepo wants to hug him, the need to hold him close and tell him to breathe writhing inside him like a separate being. Law isn’t done yet and somehow it’s even worse to witness him trying to wrest himself into a semblance of control, to drag himself away from all-too-familiar devastation.
“Fatigue. That’s how it starts”, Law tells him, like he’s talking about a patient wholly unrelated to himself. He holds up his hand and counts down with his fingers, one at a time, utterly methodical. “Then pain in the limbs, difficulties concentrating for longer periods of time, discoloration of the skin and hair, high fever and–”
There are no more fingers left, all of them tucked against Law’s palm and exposing all five letters.
“–ultimately: death.”
Bepo can’t take it anymore. “Captain–”, he starts and again he’s interrupted.
“I must’ve missed something.”
Something flashes in Law’s eyes, something unstable and mad-looking and this is bad, Bepo thinks numbly. Very, very bad.
“I thought I cured it but I was a kid, Bepo. Nobody knows the long-term effects of surviving Amber Lead Syndrome, nobody lived long enough to tell. Just because there're no new spots doesn’t mean it’s gone. And what if there’s deposits on a molecular level? I couldn’t cut cells back then without Kikoku but I can now–”
“Law, stop! Shut up!”
Bepo hasn't shouted at Law and truly meant it in a long, long time. Law’s eyes go wide and the frantic rambling stops, and Bepo is done hesitating: He reaches through that gap and touches Law’s forehead, heat searing into the sensitive skin of his paw pads immediately. Shit.
“You’re burning up”, Bepo tells him and shakes his head, barrels through the acute panic in Law’s gaze before it can take proper hold. “Stop, okay? Listen to me.” His paws drop to Law’s shoulders, firm, careful where his fingers touch gauze. “Remember our promise on Swallow? You were delirious with pain and bleeding all over the place and you told me–”
Law whispers, “Promise to stop me”, almost as pale as he was when he said it the first time.
“Exactly. I promised to never let you operate without a clear head ever again ‘cause you’re only human, Captain, and you make mistakes like this. So this is me, stopping you. You’re unwell and you’re scared and you’re not gonna cut into your own cells looking for Amber Lead like this. Okay?”
“Okay”, Law says, the low rasp of his voice growing more solid, close to trusting. Bepo lets himself feel the rapid beat of his own heart for a moment and that, too, is calmer now if only marginally so.
“Okay. So: You’re tired, your body aches, you can’t focus. You have a fever and there’s like, a thousand reasons why that could be aside from– That. And there’s no new spots. What else causes those symptoms? Walk me through it.”
“The flu? Other viruses. Anemia. Iron deficiency in general. Uh–”
A few seconds pass where Law just thinks, brow furrowed and shining with sweat, and Bepo reaches blindly for the hoodie he knows he will find crumpled on Law’s desk chair. “Put this on”, he mutters and presses it against Law’s naked chest. Law does, even lets Bepo help when his injured arm catches on fabric and a pained hiss escapes his lips.
Then the scars are covered again, out of Bepo’s and – more importantly – Law’s sight for the most part. Law stops shivering as much and it's not much but it's still good, still progress. Bepo steers Law to the bed and makes him sit down; arms crossed on the back of the chair, Bepo sits directly across from him. Eyes soft, he nudges Law’s boot with his own.
“Captain. What else?”
“Bacterial infections, severe ones. Miningitis? Hmm... Lymphoma. Technically, most types of canc–”
“Whoa, that’s– Let’s stop there. See? Plenty of options. All of them suck, especially that… that last one.” Bepo pauses, can’t help but to ask: “It’s not that, right? You don’t have cancer.”
Law’s expression softens, the overall misery pushed aside for a moment as his lips twitch tiredly and he shakes his head. “No cancer.”
Bepo nods in relief, and his mind is already three steps ahead because they need a plan and Law is not the only Heart Pirate that has a knack for those. “What’s the prescription against fever? Painkillers and…?”
“Antipyretics.”
There’s not much finesse to Bepo searching the cabinet where Law keeps his private stash of medicine. The weight of Law’s eyes on him registers yet his captain says nothing, wordlessly watching Bepo as he reads labels and tries to place everything back where he finds it until– There!
“Got it. Take… uh, how many?”
“Two. And one from the red box. That one, yeah.”
Bepo gives him the pills and waits with crossed arms until Law obediently swallows all of them at once, wincing at– Wait. Water.
Scrambling to the adjacent bathroom, Bepo fills a glass and refills it right after his captain finishes the first, placing it on his nightstand. “My apologies.”
“It’s fine. You’re fussing.”
“You bet I am”, Bepo huffs, uncaring how petulant it makes him sound. “And I’m not done. Now, rest – and I mean rest, Captain, as in not moving from that bed or so help me – and I’ll get Shachi and Penguin to keep you company. You’ll be fine in no time.”
Pointedly, Law folds the covers over his legs, a wordless there, I’m in bed. “Happy?”
“Yes.”
“And you?”
Blinking, Bepo tilts his head at Law. Law just raises an eyebrow and waits, looking vaguely worried and–
Bepo reminds himself that for all he’s a genius his captain is also an idiot.
“You just came back and you’re sick, what do you think I’m gonna do? Figure this out, of course! There’s no way I’m letting you anywhere near one of the Emperors like this, much less freaking Kaido. Also”, he takes a long breath, “I’m taking Kikoku with me and there’s nothing you can do–”
“Fine.”
“–to stop me! …Wait, seriously?”
“Yeah, take it. You’re worried enough as is.” Law shrugs a little, like it’s no big deal he’s allowing Bepo to handle the sword he keeps close even in his sleep. “It’s cursed, though. Be careful.”
Bepo swallows, a little nervous despite himself. “I know. I will. And… we’ll get through this, okay? Just stay put. Don’t do anything stupid.”
Law leans back against the headrest and sighs, “Can't. The meds’ll knock me out in a few.” And perhaps he doesn’t look particularly happy about any of it but he still took the pills Bepo handed him, still decided in that moment to trust Bepo to come up with a solution while he’s down and out.
Determination sets into a tight-lipped smile on Bepo’s face. Law’s trust is all Bepo has ever needed, be it to wrestle ocean currents into submission or to help his best friend find the freedom he’s looking for, one cut string at a time.
“I'll tell 'em to hurry, then. Leave the rest to me, Captain.”

On O-Kiku
Kiku should be considered a transwoman and adressed accordingly. "If it is not possible to ask a transgender person which pronoun they use, use the pronoun that is consistent with the person's appearance and gender expression or use the singular they." - Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation https://www.glaad.org/reference/transgender So I’ve spent quite some time today and yesterday arguing about this topic, so I figured I’d collect some of it in this post. I won’t repeat every argument I’ve seen made, because there’s some really ridiculous ones out there. But if anyone wants to make another argument not included here, I’ll just argue against that too. “I’m a woman at heart” So, the original japanese says: "心は女です。♡", "Kokoro wa Onna desu.♡" It means something like “My heart is a woman” (“kokoro” can mean heart, mind, soul, feeling, etc...Either way, I think the intention is obvious) If you read a translation that had a “Yes, but...”, that is actually not in the japanese text, but added by the translators. So Kiku doesn’t even give the question of “Are you a man?” the benefit of confirmation or denial. She just says she’s a woman, and that’s all that matters.
Tumblr media
Honestly, I think this alone should stand above anything else, but if you have a different opinion, the counter arguments and confusion will be tackled below the cut:
Kiku uses a male pronoun! Okay, so bear with me, because this might be hard to understand if you’re not familiar with it. First of, if you refer to Kiku as “he” because she uses “sessha” ( 拙者 or せっしゃ) then I’m afraid you’re gonna have to refer to, for example, Big Mom as “he” too if you don't want to be a hypocrit, since Big Mom uses “ore” (俺). But, that’s not the case right? So: Pronouns aren’t necessarily gendered in japanese. Pronouns show your status in the setting or conversation. You can use a more humble pronoun like “watashi” when talking to your boss, but use a more tough one in privat, like “ore”. It’s like changing your clothes. A man doesn’t necessarily identify as a woman the moment he puts on a dress. This is why many of the instances that are usually translated as insults in the form of calling names in english, are usually just second person pronouns used to degrade the status of the other person. They didn’t even have gendered third person pronouns in japanese before they started translating western literature and had to make something up. Of course based on social norms there are pronouns that are considered “proper” for people to use based on their gender, but the pronoun itself isn’t gendered. Big Mom uses “ore” because she’s super tough, which is something not expected from women, so it’s not associated with them. So, “sessha” ( 拙者 or せっしゃ) is an archaic pronoun used by samurai. Historically samurai were expected to be men, so obviously there’s no pronoun commonly used by specifically female samurai. Kiku doesn’t use sessha to express her gender identity, she uses it to express her status as a samurai.
The Nine Red Scabbards are specifially male! Okay, so first off, in general, you will often encounter “man” being the default in japanese language. The word for siblings, “kyoudai” “兄弟” uses only the signs of big brother and little brother, despite it also being used to refer to sisters. Now specifically to the name: Those who don’t know, the japanese name for the “Nine Red Scabbards” is “赤鞘九人男” Akazaya ku-Nin Otoko, in which “男” otoko means man/men (Remember the joke with O-Toko?) Now I personally only see this as a narrative device to foreshadow O-Kiku hiding being a man or a transwoman until further confirmation (such as we got this chapter, 948), similarly to her name also being a reference hinting at it. But if you want to argue in-universe: The name isn’t necessarily chosen by the mebers itself? Zoro never called himself a Pirate Hunter, these titles are made up by the public. And in this very chapter we have an outsider calling O-Kiku a man. This random prisoner doesn’t decide Kiku’s gender, neither does the general public. Kiku is based on an Onnagata, so a man! What a character is based on doesn’t dictate what they are in the story. Usopp is partly a reference to Pinocchio, and we are not waiting on a reveal of him being a wooden puppet turned real boy now are we? For those who don’t know, Onnagata are male actors playing female roles in theatre. There’s also no way of determining whether or not no Onnagata ever was a transwoman. The concept and recognition is still pretty modern and history has shown to try to erase people from the LGBTQ+ community from the records.
There is no concept of Trans in Wano/One Piece / they don’t exist Now, I’m sorry, but this one is especially silly if you ask me. There being a concept of and them existing are different topics. If we’re talking about One Piece as a whole, the concept of transgender has come up before, specifically with Ivankov and the “Newkama”. Even if there is no understand of “transgender” in Wano (If you want to assume there isn’t, due to it being based on feudal Japan, which again look point above) that doesn’t mean there can’t be transgender people. They also don’t have a concept for devil fruits, but we can recognize a devil fruit user anyway. They also have no concept of “gun”, but we all know a gun when we see one. We, as the readers, can easily recognize Kiku as a transwoman, irregardless of whether or not the fictional society she is from has reached that level of understanding. I just want something more evidence. I genuinely don’t understand how it could be anymore clear. Like I said, you won’t be able to dictate Kiku’s gender by the pronouns used in the japanese original, because that is not how pronouns work in japanese. This is a japanese shonen manga, you cannot be any more obvious than literally saying “My heart is a woman”
Alright, so these are all the counter arguments I considered worth adressing. I know there is some confusion specifically because of people not knowing enough about japanese as a language itself.

Reunion — Zoro x Reader
Summary: After arriving to Wano, you go out with Brook looking for Zoro. Your heart aching to find him, missing him terribly. However, what you come across leaves you confused. Wano Spoilers.
Word count: 1.3K words
A/N: Even though I have requests to work on, I wanted to post this. I started this out of boredom, and ended up really liking it. I can never get enough Zoro imagines. Zoro is The Ultimate Bae TM out there ok.
Warnings: Again, manga spoilers, specifically chapter 941. Swearing, smut.
Tumblr media
You stuck with Brook on your way to find Zoro. Your heart was eager to see your boyfriend again, after taking a detour to Whole Cake Island. However, your heart squeezed painfully once you finally found Zoro in a small house. Not the kind of meeting you were hoping.
"Zoro-san!" Brook exclaimed, surprised when he saw Zoro asleep with a little girl and a woman sleeping on his chest.
Zoro groaned, waking up and suddenly growing aware of his surroundings.
"What the fuck?" He barked, as the woman on his chest woke up. "The fuck do you think you're doing, lady?" Yet, he hadn't realized you were there.
"The people in the capital would have died to sleep with me, didn't you enjoy it?" Her voice, still dripping with sleep, adding to the painful squeeze of your gut.
"Bullshit" he growled as he finally looked at Brook and saw you standing next to the skeleton. "[Name]" he whispered. "This looks…This is not—"
You stopped him by just lifting your index finger. Your face crystal clear, and Zoro immediately felt worried. Why? He didn't know, he hadn't done anything wrong, yet, this whole situation looked horrendously wrong.
"Can I talk to you outside?" You whispered, feeling everyone's stare in you as Zoro quickly stood up, grabbed his yukata putting it on, following you outside the house.
"You're Zorojuro's friends?" Komurasaki asked Brook, as Brook watched the two of you leave.
"Oh...I am his friend. She...well...she's his girlfriend, yohohoho!" Brook laughed awkwardly as Komurasaki's face changed and now she was gawking and covering her mouth with her slim hands.
"Oh, did I get him in trouble?" She cried, as Brook laughed feeling uncomfortable.
Zoro followed you quietly, thinking about how cold Wano was. You decided to stop, several feet away from the small house, not really minding the cold. In fact, using it to distract yourself from the pain in your chest.
"I've got a couple of questions…" you sighed, turning around and looking Zoro in the eye. "What happened?"
"Nothing happened" he purred "I fell asleep. And at some point she thought it was a good idea to sleep next to me. No kissing, no touching, no sex"
You stared at him for several seconds. Silently. Replaying hi words in your head. And the image on another girl sleeping on his chest.
"Second question, are you lying to me?"
"You know lying goes against my principles” He said firmly, without even stopping to think about his answer, and without stuttering  “No, I'm not lying to you. I don't have a reason to do so"
"Okay, one last thing…" you murmured.
"Alright, shoot" Zoro said.
"I missed you" Zoro's face brightened with a gentle smile and he walked closer to you, grabbing you from your shoulder and bringing you closer, hugging you and kissing the top of your head.
"I missed you too, dummy" he chuckled, running his hand through his hair and smelling the familiar smell he loved so much. Your smell.
You broke the hug and stared into his eye, standing on your tiptoes to steal a kiss from him. He grabbed your face in his hand, as he kissed you back.
Brook and Komurasaki waited, feeling more and more uncomfortable. Finally, when the two of you walked back inside, hand in hand, Komurasaki approached you, kneeling and her head facing down, ashamed.
"I'm so sorry. What you saw earlier, it's a misunderstanding. Nothing happened between me and Zorojuro…"
"Whoa, whoa, it's alright. He already cleared things up…"
"So, you're not mad at him?"
"I'm not. And I'd appreciate it if you didn't do that again…" you murmured as the girl before you nodded.
While breakfast was ready, Zoro and you caught up in the main room while everyone else hung at the kitchen. At first, talking about what happened in both islands while you were away. And the next thing you knew, Zoro was kissing you passionately. His touch burning your skin, even through the fabric of your yukata.
Realizing how pent up you were, you lost yourself in the fiery kiss. Your hands traveled through Zoro's neck, going down his shoulders, pushing his yukata off. His clothes pooled on his waist, as he leaned over, pushing you gently to the ground.
Now, it was his hands caressing your shoulders and neck and pulling your yukata down, exposing your chest to him. He was quick to kiss your neck, biting and sucking on your skin. Painting love bites, red and purple all over the place.
A gasp in the shape of his name escaped your lips and caressing his ears. One of his hands kept exploring your body, knowing perfectly well where your soft spots were.
The distance closing between two burning bodies. His crotch against yours as you could feel his growing erection throb in anticipation. Your mind clouding as his teeth teased your nipples, and one of his hands playfully teased your folds.
"Ah, Zoro…" you whispered holding his hair tightly in your grip and bringing him back to your face. "I've missed you so much" you said pressing a breathless kiss on his lips.
"I missed you too, [Name]" he purred gently between one kiss and the other. "Love, I need you"
His voice dripping with lust. And yet, that gentle pet name  he only called you when it was just the two of you. Zoro was a far more gentle than he appeared, being very touchy when you were alone.
"Suit yourself, baby. I'm yours" you whispered, as you glared into his eye, the same lustful fire burning in both your stares.
He bit the crook of your neck, as he positioned his length on your entrance, and with a strong thrust, he stole a gasp from your lips. Feeling him stretching you, deep and hard, you closed your eyes and clawed your fingernails on his back.
"You're mine" he growled with another strong thrust.
Even though his pace was slow, his thrusts were strong and deep, every push hurt, yet you felt more pleasure than pain, as he hit the right spot every time. It made you crazy, the beastly strength Zoro had.
Your sight got more and more blurry, as Zoro's passion consumed you. Pushing you closer and closer to the edge. Both whispering sweet nothings between gasps and sweet kisses.
The two of you had become experts in having sex silently. Since there were very few places in the Sunny where you could be as noisy as you wanted. Specially when you fell asleep in the guy's quarters, or Zoro in the girl's room. Silent sex was the perfect answer, allowing you to misbehave almost everywhere at almost every time without getting in trouble.
Neither Brook, Toko, or Komurasaki were suspicious of anything. Not until breakfast was ready, and Komurasaki went to the main room to let you know. However, as she gently slid the door open, she peeked inside and saw the two of you. Zoro between your legs, kissing your neck. Your head pushed back as you panted silently. Since neither of you noticed her, she quietly slid the door closed again and went back to the kitchen.
You could tell Zoro was close to his climax, since his pace was growing wilder. And although he came first, inside of you, he didn’t stop. Keeping up his erratic thrusts, until your grip suddenly got stronger, clawing your nails painfully into his back, your legs pushing him deeper inside you, and feeling how you were tightening around his erection. Hiding his face on the crook of your neck, he kept going throughout your orgasm, making it last longer.
“Ah, Zoro” You moaned holding on to him, with no focus of the world, and only feeling him all around you, as the heat in your belly consumed you entirely. An electrifying pleasing sensation washing over your body before all of your muscles began to relax. Zoro remained inside of you for a while, catching his breath.
Another gentle kiss, the sweet and tired post sex kiss. Probably your favourite of Zoro’s kisses.
“I love you” He breathed, sliding out of you, but remaining between your legs.
After a few minutes of just lying there, talking, stealing kisses from one another, the two of you decided to dress up and go back to the kitchen. Everyone else had finished having breakfast. Komurasaki had lied to Brook and told him the two of you were napping when she’d gone to let you know breakfast was ready. And Brook seemed to believe it. The two of you had breakfast, as Komurasaki and Zoro explained the current situation of the country.
