oh, I've had a hunch that Sanji got... cranked up to 11 in the anime. after OPLA I became manga-only reader, as I wanted the rawest possible OP experience and also bcuz reading is quicker than watching the anime 😅 (I'm still not even halfway through -- recently started Impel Down -- but it is such a great story, I already love it so much!!!) but I also started dipping my toes into the fandom. and I saw people hating Sanji for being a gross pervert. but while reading the manga, this man gave me more of a love-sick puppy vibes??? all the swooning and fussing over Nami and Robin seemed almost sweet (him running towards them with flowers in Skypiea or cotton candy in Long Ring Island? c'mon, that was adorable) he has his moments but they aren't even that bad, tbh. I wondered that maybe it was a misguided hate towards his special treatment for women (chivalry?????) rankling feminists, tired of men treating women like wilting flowers in constant need of man-help but no, people seemed very dead-set on him being a straight up pervert and I realised... oh, those are anime fans... oh, no... what happened here, and I got discouraged from trying to watch the anime, since if it changed Sanji, one of the main characters, it was very likely to change other things, especially given how old the anime is. and then I realised that it already changed things even in the first episode and I kind of... stuck to the manga for now. maybe I will watch some movies just to see the One Piece world prettily animated 🤔

(Long post) First of all, some recommendations for you so you can enjoy the animation ^^ If you want to enjoy One Piece animated with an "Oda feel", watch the movie "Strong World". The script is written by Oda and you can watch it after finishing Thriller Bark. Like with the rest of the movies, the content is not Canon content, so what you see on them doesn't really happen in the real One Piece story (even if some of the enemies pasts are canon), but this one is the best and more on character we can probably see.

After that, Oda was executive producer in "Film Z" (supposed to be after FishMan Island Arc, but preferably after Punk Hazard Arc to avoid spoilers) and "Gold" (watch after Dressrosa Arc). His involvement with these movies is not so big, tho, so watch them with that in mind. (For example, in "Gold" Oda only rewrote the script of the climax of the story, because he was specially unsatisfied with how that part was done. They had to redraw the last 10min of the movie OvOu)

Also he was a producer in "Red" (watch after Wano Arc), and he made a lot of interesting comics and things that are canon pre-Movie... but the Movie on itself is weird. They changed many things of his initial notes and the characters are very "out of character" in my opinion. It has very good music and animation, tho! But yeah... watch with caution ^^U

(I was not gonna mention it at first, but why not... there is also "Stampede", but "Oda stated that he would not have allowed the movie's story to be produced if it was not a commemoration of the anime's 20th anniversary." So... I wouldn't watch it if you expect anything that makes sense in his world or characters xDU)

(You also have the OVA "One Piece - Defeat Him! The Pirate Ganzack", which pre-dates Toei's Anime adaptation. Oda took a lot of interest in this OVA, and he praised it a lot when it came out in 1998) ----------- And second, in my opinion, you made the right decision going to the Manga! As you say, it is the best way to get the rawest version of the story. And also way faster to read it than to watch it xD

And now, oh boy, about Sanji... (this is gonna be a very reduced and fast thing I'm gonna write, but I plan on analyze the differences between the Manga and Anime in this other tumblr, if you want to see more eventually):

Your hunch is completely correct. Sadly Sanji's character is completely obliterated in the Anime ^^U

He is reduced to his perverted side (and very veery amped up), or to being mean and fighting all the time. He has nothing of the kindness he shows in the Manga, only the things they can not exclude for the story to make sense. The many fillers also show a different Sanji than the one shown in the Manga. The Anime also shows Nami completely disgusted by him very often, which influences the way we see him as viewers. She just treats him like a slave when she is being "nice". (Nami is also very different in the Anime. They all are different people in the Anime, honestly u_uUU)

So yes, I think most of people who hate him for being gross and a pervert mainly have their first and only contact being the Anime. And it is understandable feeling like that, because it is seriously a bad representation of the character. He is not himself at all.

The Anime reaches an even more unpalatable degree after the time-skip. ---- [((Little Spoiler of right After Time-Skip: Sanji comes back more sensitive to pretty women in the Manga, which translates into many nosebleeds until he recovers. But in the Anime they had always shown him in that level of pervert, or even worse! So they had to amp it even MORE and show him harassing random women and everyone being disgusted around him... something that doesn't happen in the Manga! It makes the character really stand out in grossness))] ----

As you say, Sanji in the Manga is a sweet guy, and only shows as a real pervert sometimes... but it is shown in a funny way. And Nami and Robin react in a non-negative way, mostly just amused that he is such a dummy. But everyone knows he is just harmless.

He totally acts like a love-sick puppy and has those sweet romantic outburst, but he can be a normal human being. And most importantly, treats them mainly as friends and human beings. Anime Sanji could never xDU

okay let me finally show you my updated f/o list!! I am also planning to add some s/i info but tbh i still havent gotten to it cause im procrastinating it while trying to relax doing other stuff klsdksj here it is!! (I am aware that the first photos look weird in phones so pls bare with me and put it in pc mode lmaoo im a carrd super-beginner)

now if you'd let me, Imma talk a bit about the changes just because

I wanted to get a bit more specific mentioning platonic f/os so even if I like many characters in sources like Obey Me, you can now see which characters I think my s/i would be the closest with :D!! I also played a bit with labels ig but I read this fic where Mammon said there was no need "to be anything" as long as we were in peace with each other and I felt that on a spiritual lvl so instead of overthinking how to label f/os sometimes I just put him as unlabeled lol I just love self inserting in his world being really close to him and he's my fav character of the game and all but ig it becomes hard sometimes to try to fit that into something so I said whatever, it's my little self insert world and they can do whatever they want that brings me comfort XD yknow, sometimes partnering concepts just feel off but at the same time I enjoy saying I am a Mammon simp cause I love the character so it's a bit of a mess in my brain sometimes, trying to make both my experience as a player and my s/i's fit for my best comfort

talking about labels, I've decided to put all the Golden Deer as platonic soulmates :D! I think it suits us all and all the unique bonds they form with each other, and I thought that the whole thing of my s/i probably having this huge feeling of admiration and loyalty towards Claude felt better like this somehow, like it's a part of my s/i lore and not so much about what their relationship can be or not? I dont know if this makes sense worded like this but it seems to work out in my head XD I still plan to someday develop my s/i's story a lot so who knows

anyway, FRIENDS AND FAMILY!! I feel like it's pretty obvious that I've started to play Honkai Star Rail because suddenly I got a friend, a brother and a father from there- listen everytime I see the Astral Express Family written in the groupchat I emotionally cry happy tears (also I wouldnt be surprised if i ended up also f/oing Himeko in the future lmao, I love found families can you tell)

from Genshin Impact I've officially added Thoma as a platonic f/o :D!! (my hearts craves to befriend kind characters, yes) I think my Genshin s/i is probably the one with the most lore right now so I'm excited to write about this in the future! well,,,,, actually my Super Mario Bros s/i also has some info around themselves already,,,,,, like would you believe me if I told you I was already making up s/i lore while still watching the movie,,,,, the self-shipper experience huh.....

hi there! 😊 you sent this a while ago so maybe you already found your answer somewhere else, but i do know about this, yeah! and there is a big answer for it for sure zersdgdfg.

so basically this is a big part of the fanon lore the fandom came up with surrounding dying will flames. it builds upon the concept of guardians (and flames) in the manga and absolutely runs with it lol. the two big ideas it's based upon is that 1) flames goes deeper than your dying will turned energy. they go soul-deep, and so are, like, the manifestation/embodiment of your soul, and 2) another use of the harmony attribute skies have is that it allows the harmonization of dying will flames, which is basically the soul bonding you're talking about here. (and now i think about it, i'd say there's actually a third big idea too where dying will flames are some kind of sixth sense that allows you to know about someone's feelings/emotions/thoughts to various degrees.)

as for the specifics, there's actually already a post of mine where we discussed that particular bit of fanon lore (commonly referred as harmonization) in details! if you go through the notes and read everyone's thoughts about it, it should give you a clear idea of what soul bonding is all about.

it won't give you an exhaustive one tho! because i might be wrong here, but i think harmonization is just about the most developed bit of fanon lore we have? but either way, even if it's a trope easily recognizable at, like, its core, everyone still have their own takes on it, and so it can be different enough from fic to fic. the post might also give you outdated idea about it, at least when it comes to what i shared about it, because it was all from what i read back in 2016-2018. i have no idea what harmonization looks like in fics nowadays because it isn't something that appeals to me anymore, but the post should still help you making it something not foreign or unfamiliar anymore!

wouldn't it have made more sense if she was with zero first and then meets kaname later. we know kaname is irresistable and would understand why the confusion and not be able to choose zero 100 % lol. It doesn't make sense that she fell in love with a dark and mysterious pureblood vampire king first but still whines about some downgrade mofo who she was friends with and is giving kaname a headache on that. shouldn't it have been the other way around LMAO? Like you are with a man of fantasy, a man out of your league? Shouldn't you be completely obsessed with him? how does mofo zero get so many pages in vk and vkm? Hino needs to get her priorties straight. It should've been the opposite. She fucked up the whole plot. Ruined the fantasy.

Yea I often think about stuff like this. Usually there is the “nice guy” vs the “dangerous guy who seduces you”. Like I know some people say zero has bad boy appeal, but let’s be real. He doesn’t. He ain’t shit like that 😂

Kaname is the man you can’t help but be drawn to. He is the one who is the magnet for good girls! That’s why I was into this manga at first and why I still stick around despite knowing it’s gone. Kaname was the dream guy that with the darkness inside him that appeals to good girls. I related a lot to Yuuki in that regard! She was thirsty! I was like finally a story where the sexy erotic dangerous guy is crazy about the plain good girl too! Kaname is for the female gaze let’s be real even if u hate him it’s true common. So it doesn’t make sense that Yuuki would even entertain zero when already having the pureboood king at her knees lmao. Like really? That’s like having diamonds and still whining about pebbles lol. I feel bad for being so harsh with Zero even tho I don’t like him lol… I know some very cool Zero fans. But xD

I read a theory that said Zero was never supposed to exist. And that was the editor that wanted him to exist cuz she liked him so much and wanted a love triangle .I also think Hino doesn’t know how to write a romance when the two leads already have attraction for each other. Maybe she thinks there isn’t much else to tell. So she focused the story more on Zero and Yuuki because she literally didn’t see him as anything more than a brother at first and it fills the pages. Then she meant to have Kaname and Yuuki end up together but by then people grew attached to zeki’s development and missed the point of yume.

I truly don’t think zero was supposed to be that relevant but Hino extended his role to milk the manga lol. That’s why arc 2 and vkm make no sense. I think he was supposed to fufill his purpose to kill Rido and either die or stay chasing Yuuki for eternity to try to kill her. Let’s be real, this guy was never supposed to end up with Yuuki, Hino changed it to please the interpretations of what Zekis took out of the story lol

Hino is an idiot but she’s a Kaname simp. She just chose money and to play it safe over Kaname 😂but yea I would’ve loved this story more if basically the premise changed lol. I love the idea in canon that Kaname saved Yuuki when she was a child with no memories or anything and the story begins and ends with them. But this approach didn’t end up working so well. Like you said, it would’ve been better if she was with zero first and then she meets Kaname second and falls for him despite knowing she shouldn’t. And then their development of their attraction building and then it coming together and exploding. I just like this approach more of Yuuki and Kaname being the main protagonists while Zero plays a smaller role in this “love triangle”. Maybe we can still keep the they were destined all along theme of Yuuki regains her memory that it’s actually Kaname she met first long ago. Or maybe we can still keep Kaname watching over her being a silent protector but he made sure not to interact with her until destiny had them meet again. Damn if, now I’m seriously thinking of writing a fanfic like this 😂

Like I think it’s a shame the fantasy was ruined because society is so used to identifying with nice guys and “underdog” men. Like this isn’t real life! We’re allowed to have stories where we get the unattainable guy to look our way! Lmao. What’s the point of ruining the fantasy with a downgrade! Irl most of us end up with the downgrade anyway I want some good escapism fiction 😂

Or like Hino could’ve taken lessons from Stephanie Meyer who never detracted from her vision. She was able to write a love triangle with meeting the dark broody erotic guy first then falling for the good guy but loving and choosing the first guy and it worked out well. I think it all came down to Hino’s flaw of focusing on Zeki’s development first lol. That was her downfall

How nice that you watched and enjoyed Red White and Royal Blue! That movie is just lovely ^-^ I assume you're specifically asking for more BL story suggestions? I read this ask earlier today and have been racking my brain since but sadly — out of the many BL stories I have watched or read — there are only a few I consider worth recommending. (And even though I have a lot of gay otps, most of them aren't canon T-T) If you want to watch another feel-good story with a happy ending, the only one that comes to mind is Cherry Magic. It's a Japanese drama, followed by a movie. The story is super sweet. Yuri on Ice was also cute but that anime only had one season in 2016 and we're apparently still waiting on season 2. I think I would also recommend the author Keira Andrews. I've read a few of her books and they pretty much always have a happy ending. (She also wrote a great wangxian fic: here). If you want good writing, but not necessarily a happy ending, I would recommend Brokeback Mountain (if you haven't seen that already), My Policeman and Banana Fish (this one's an anime/manga, too).

I'm so sad about how short this list is lol. But I'm just being honest, everything else I watched/read was mediocre at best. Plus, I'm generally more inclined to re-watch cql for the fiftieth time than to try smth new xD If I ever stumble upon another gem, I'll be sure to recommend it, tho, I promise!

It's so exciting that this season is finally here

The introduction was always funny to me because it was never subtle.

This time the narrator said, "Oh, what lies ahead for Iruma-kun?" meanwhile, the flashes of the demon king's throne passed by. I wonder what that means?

OP is....not so bad tbh. Not the best op of the three for sure. The song is good, if you don't like k or j-pop, it's not for you, but could be more k-pop-ish honestly. The first half is just meh, seems like the animated it w/o listening the song, the second half is more fire! (Tho I wish Kerori's part didn't look so comedy-like, she is the only girl w fighting abilities and her badass familiars are not there). For me the op works, it's not a banger and that is sad.

What is the ciclope-alien girl doing to Azz? that's SA miss, back off. I love how easy and calm Azz looks as he extracts her off his person. Always the gentleman. But still SA. Eiko never changes!

ahh aighto, so following the guide list and watching part 1 n 2 in close succession, 3 then 4 then rohan ova, then 5 and 6. on the liveaction one, ngl i wouldn't really have much complaints about the fact it's not art, always fun to experience a fandom in its entirety like all the cool different mediums and stuff like that, especially for how long jjba's been going on for, there's so much to explore :D

okay not gonna lie, i may have desperately needed that warning about no characters being safe lol i get way too invested and attached to them so the head's up is appreciated ;; (/gen) i don't know why i'm kind of very curious about that though now, i haven't seen any author ever just straight up kill of characters (well i have but ya know?) especially main ones? got me on the edge of my seat now ngl. i'm also wondering whether i should just stave off the manga for now till after i finish the anime and that jazz, dunno to be able to binge the manga and feel it properly tbh

and ohh alright, i was reading another guide just now and it linked the "Stone Ocean OP / Opening" from yt and i see what you mean by cgi, i dunno how they do that so i'll assume it's like 3d models, the way the 3d bits fit the 2d animation style looked so cool and aaa the expressions are just so uniquely styled and all from what i've seen of a 1 minute clip lol but glad u were still able to enjoy the season tho tbh (/pos)

and oh!! there's tarot connections? aa i'm so excited to see how they do that, it's always super fun to see those small little references and u can giggle since your like "yay i got that ref :D" (/lh/hj) might have to grab some kind of bingo to see how many refs i catch haha (/j) but alrighty, noted, no research on kira will be committed, i mean aside from me searching for his design yesterday lol (/lh)

i don't know if it classifies as spoilers much but from the guide i read it said that around part 3 they switched to entities called strands with random powers? that was basically the gist of what i got before i stopped reading so is that one of the differences that separate part 1/2? but oh wait what? why would they say to skip :(? isn't it just more fun in general to start from the very, very start? and oh! joseph! i believe you've mentioned him before but i never heard of jonathan before, his hair looks super cool tho omg and no cause fr :( the uniqueness is part of the appeal isn't it? jjba already has the reputation of being: funky, unique and just being so alive, i don't get how someone would start watching an anime with a rep like that and not watch the first 2 seasons just cause ;; (/lh) awh help i'm getting attached to joseph now, he sounds so sweet tbh (/pos)

and yooo i get why you said "they really did that just cause they could" now" tbh that's a tad more impressive as opposed to just doing the special effects to big scenes, kinda feels like a flex about the artistic control they got over the season tbh (ya know, since like- creators don't really often get that much artistic autonomy with their shows anymore?) i really like that bit now actually ill be honest (/gen)

i dunno why i always imagined that motion to be like a croak-type 'laugh' lol, but yeah denji's character definitely seems very funny haha tho course there's the serious story bits, not sure why but he actually somewhat reminds me of mineta? albeit of course denji's a lot more fleshed out and established (i'm not really caught up with the bnha manga so i dunno how mineta is currently, though tbh the similarities kind of end with their primary motivations centering women? (i dunno if i phrased that right, i hope the idea got thru tho ;; /lh)

wait oh noo, i've seen the anime already but this clip compilation is actually so sweet omg ;; i love yor but for some reason the first few episodes of loid being practically a single dad has my heart in a vice grip lol, they really did do the family dynamic between them so well (/gen) and ohh what are your thoughts on uhm- what's his name? yuri briar? yeah that's his name, the uncle and niece dynamic between him and anya was adorable to see lol

i finally found an proper working site with the english trans for the comic lol, i myt finish it in abt a day so i can ask some indepth questions about that when i do :D (if you don't mind ofc!) ngl being able to relate to a character however flawed really shows how well the writing was done (/pos) and wait that frame actually looks so pretty omg?? the artstyle is to be adored tbf, there's so many details and you can almost tell the emotions even without the text woah. and ohh! wait his been your layouts? i saw the holding knife banner but i didn't recognize the artstyle till you pointed it out (/lh)

honestly, i get how you feel about one piece ngl:') i've watched a ton of analysis videos on that but it's always a whiplash to see the diversity in the male characters then see the female characters, coming from a vid i watched they said "It's like there's no middle ground, your either made into the standard body type (the girls in the images:') ya attached ) or your made 'grotesque' (the video cues a photo of big mama)" tbf i don't actually know big mama's character and there isn't really anything wrong with being that weight but i do get the gist of the idea the vid was talking about (artstyle side ofc),

(also poorly formatted. every line break is answering its corresponding one in ur ask) (in most cases im so sorry :sob:) mhm!! theres a whole lot of extra stuff to read aswell-- like after part 4 araki didnt just make the rohan ova, he also made "dead man's questions" which you probably should also read (not watch as theres no anime version) after part 4-- it follows a character who dies in part 4 which is why i wont say ANYTHING about it. i heeaaavily advise you to not even search it up- like at all its mc is a MAJOR character spoiler like not until youve finished part 4 okay

also, despite no character being safe, i wholeheartedly push you to still love and care about every character your heart Will. shatter atleast once, but thats the fun in it really? i started jjba after watching the original naruto, so the first time a main character, like a *main* died i was just shellshocked the entire time i was waiting for them to bring the person back cause it was like You can't be serious? i REALLY dont wanna gas it up but the ending to part 1 was genuinely wild aswell W series

for the stone ocean cgi i didnt really mean the into but in animation itself for some scenes they used like 3d models and such for the powers and effects, and it sometimes might not be noticable, but when you see it. you see it and its like theyre really doing that and its genuinely so cool

the tarot connections are mainly part 3's thing- the way they names most abilities at least my favorite being death (13) mainly because the episode had me SO intrigued- honestly my favorite jojo episode other than this episode in part 4 (will not disclose [spoilers] but its the "bites the dust" episode- youll know it when you get there) hearing the ability names; it was always great to go "hey i know that band!" but i must say if youre watching the anime with subtitles, or in dub, what you read is not the stands name (or hear if dub) the stand name in most cases, will not be the same as it was originally, as well, copyright purposes really, so in western versions the name the person says (for sub) will not line up with the subtitles man in the mirror for example in the subtitles is reffered to as "mirror man" , so if you get to the part with stands, just know you might not be able to like get some references unless you listen to the japanese name not that it matters it just popped into head lol

and yes thats the big change really, the reason people say to fully skip part 1 and 2 the lack of stands which is so childish.. like really? you dont like the main fundamental parts of the series cuz they dont have big punchy monster powers? i assume youve met johnathan by now, judging byyour comment on the ending music YOU WILL (PROBABLY) LOVE HIM hes just a sweetheart like a mary sue mc but in a not mary sue way

yayaya :DD the team behind jojo REALLY can take the liberties they want and thats probably because the manga/araki is weird as hell like think. uh. spy family you just couldnt do the stuff you do in jojo there, not even story wise but art wise everything is so "polished" and set? like i dont wanna say polished, because jojo is *very* sleek looking but like you get what i mean

where was i.... honestly, jojo side characters (unless theyre like minor antags that get beat in one episode) are really prevalent as the seasons go on and one thing i can REALLY applaud araki (as if i havent been applauding him for EVERYTHING) is that he doesnt forget characters if you meet a side character that isnt evil, you Will. meet them again at least once something i like in part 4 (can you tell its my favorite part?) is that all the characters sort of have their own episode (even the sidest of side characters) when you watch it itll make more sense, but like the side characters arent just plot devices i guess youll see them roaming the street and the characters'll walk past the same bg characters multiple times, and that bg character genuinely wont matter i think it goes hand in hand with the whole everyone knows everyone small town theme but it's still super cool and yes!!! i get so dissapointed when i see irl anime reboots and they are literally just cosplaying the characters nooooo!! the point is that its in real life!!! make the story your own!!! yeah i loved aot :D its not a favorite of mine but its top on my lest i should do like a tier list or something of all the mangas/animes i can remember ive watched ive watched a whole lot actually theres not a lot else to do when youre a shut-in :sob: im all caught up with the aot manga the ending. had me shellshocked genuinely had me blinking like.. thats not okay where was my happy ending??? my overall overall thoughts are is that.. well.. i really love when mangakas just through your expectations out the window and thenh grabs them back and spits on them and throws them out another window just to mess with you so i loved aot; the lore behind the titans and everything? confusing but once i got it they had me rolling over in my bed sorry if ive been getting off topic alot by the way . _ .

Fruits Basket Manga Review , ch 111

sigh~~~ I feel that my recent posts are a bit negative towards the anime, but thats cuz the chapters I’ve read so far are either unbelievably important character depth content cut for no valid reason or content in the anime but packed with million other things that it lost its purpose or importance. Basically tohu’s ep 6 which consists of 4 chapters & now ep 5 which is a momiji ep & yup, packed with 4 chapters as well... so, I apologize for any negativity, my intention is just analyzing artistic & story-telling aspects, I love se03, but yeah it screwed up lots of important characters due to its not so thorough plot decisions & harmful character insight choices.

today.. we explore Momiji... but only before his curse breaks.

Furuba anime struggling to know how to design an episode based on various plot-heavy chapters?

so, they decided 13 eps, & decided one ep for momiji cuz motoko’s graduation & the fanclub is the core of the furuba & have already cut tons of tohru, cuz who cares? she’s kind. be like her. end of lesson. No. really, jokes aside, how to do this?

How to combine several chapters in one ep? collect small snippets from chosen chapters/content like a bee does flowers? you gotta skip some content, you gotta highlight others. The ep is only 20 min after all & you got an op & Ed that you cant always skip.... so.. furuba team decide that momoji’s ep should be true to his zodiac animal, this is the rabbits last appearance in spirit. so, they went with quick hopping from one chapter to the other like a rabbit?

No really, ep 5 is really like a rabbit in its flow, you can’t savior a moment enough before jumping to the other: we learned momiji grew up!! loves toheu romantically, challenged kyo, really meant it, wanted a fair love game, got freed, lost tohru romantically & faced momiji! but that’s not all? we still have space!! quick add akito’s moodiness & love triangle with her dog & her submissive bed partner, add a happy comedy for no reason whatever & make shigue kiss tohru & wish shes 'was his lover instead!!!!!!!!! Mind you all this happened in the anime before shigure hurt tohru with his “the truth of the zodiacs talk & them accepting & feeling consolance that kyo is doomed”talk.

-Gets whats my biggest surprise after reading this chapter ?????????

Shigure is consistent!! He isnt a rabbit hopping here & there. The dog is loyal & is tired for good reason! Him being depressed & his weird talk with thoru makes so much sense given the manga’s order.

Kyo is consistent!! In the anime, momiji surprise him with confession he loves tohru & challenge him, then kyo la~la~la~joins them downstairs for curry. Not a single expression on his face, where is the expression? it will appear when the plot is forced to address it: by the end of the ep when momiji face hin again. Then we get kyo’s reaction.

I need someone to tell the anime that actions require a reaction. You can refrain from showing a certain reaction if you can’t address it now, but you can’t erase it, negate it, then make it appear when have to!!!! couldn’t they make kyo refuse to join them & eat together? the other characters wont be surprised they think he’s needlessly moody. The audience will know that kyo is troubled with momiji’s challenged & it will excite them!!! having kyo just go eat & watch the momiji/hiro/haru/yuki comedy skit is weird.

The manga’s author wanted kyo to join the dinner, like the anime did. but huge difference. the author actually cares for logic reaction & understands that the audience aren’t dumb little kids that will sit & wait for kyo’s turn to...react! nope! she did this: (a) & (b) below.

-Lost Small Bits/ Panels from the chapter.. But Sadly Big Huge Chunks for Characters buildup & Growth:

(a) addressed the fact the hiro noticed kyoru is in love & dressed that shigure was right!! the cat being in love is a weird concept to the zodiacs! hiro reacted naturally & the author used hiro to flesh yuki’s (the rat), momiji’s (the rabbit) & haru’s (the cow) decision to silently watch the kyo (the cat) makes his own decisions to live!!! They won’t interfere or tell akito or remind him of his state as the doomed caged cat. So sad this moment is cut from yuki. Why must yuki only interact with kyo to beat him (all seasons)? why must yuki only think of kyo to envy him (all seasons) ? Here, yuki’s growth towards kyo as a person & his relationship with tohru is 1000 times better than all tohru is my mom’s sh!t & I envy kyo’s Sh!t we saw in the anime over & over till we memorized it.

(b) kyo didnt just go la~la~eat with momiji after knowing he loves tohru. Nope, there’s small bits missing: called logical emotional reaction. He was surprised he’s caught pining over tohru! cuz yuki, the audience representative, has told us in the previous chapter that ppl in love dont notice anything around them. Kyo thinks him being cold hid his feelings. the dummy’s feelings are as bright as the sun in the Sahara, tohru too. a child read her! such small thing that wont take much space from the ep but was cut cuz kyo only needs to be responsive at the ep’s end. & this scene of kyo & tohru looking awkwardly at each other is minor in space but so important cuz kyo is determined to let go but his decision is challenged by not only momiji, but his natural attraction to tohru. Here he knows he’s caught & exposed... here he knows momiji is a better choice for tohru cuz he wont didn’t hurt her mom... here he knows that even yuki is better cuz never had to pretend to be cold to her... here he knows the world is better than him... & here he just cant help by smile & walks towards her... T_T ... another lesson in writing slow burns by Takaya-san.

-Why would the anime team pass on this?? drawing kyoru closer after the epic tear in Cinderella ep, cuz they want empty suspense~! The anime team thinks that if kyo & tohru stand next to each other, then it means all their issues are solved & the audience are so stupid as to forget tohru’s mom, kyo’s imprisonment, kyo not confessing his sins to tohru & tohru’s need to make a choice wether to fogive hom or not.. nope! you see, they think, ppl who read mangas are smart, so the author can give this epic symbolism & pp would still be not sure kyoru is end game & tohru will forgive him or kyo even fogive himself, but ppl who watch, oh no, gotta cut all the plot worthy content, produce a graduation song for a minor character, cut all kyo/tohru interaction cuz it only means romance & not at all character depth & oh if we show yuki actually formulating deep thoughts that aren’t centered around him, the audience might forget his se02 struggles! or that might ruin yuki’s upcoming growth moment in the finale where he .. you guessed it hits kyo.. as he always do & sulk & think abt himself cuz yuki can only do monologues when he’s directly involved.... man~it is so sad how the anime is dumped down.. Who is the target audience again? not kids as young as hiro cuz even hiro is smart!

-just look:

Momiji talks abt kyo shouldn't give up loving tohru & the authr shows this this ghost!!! his mom! The author reminds us that kyo isnt da~~~~ forgetting anything. He’s a deeply troubled soul & hos mom wants him locked cuz she too was locked in a cage & thinks that’s safer...why oh why you dump ur own story! sh!t~

Side Notes:

I like the closeups on Kisa’s face as she interacted with kyo. It’s very rare for kisa to have a world beside the endearing parental/big protective bro/big doting sister love she has with tohru & haru & off course the romantic love with hiro which was perhaps since their birth or sth. lol. Kisa & kyo arent much on the brotherly side as they rarely interact, but its one of those refreshing interactions she has that helps cast a new light on her as tiny as it is, but its sth out of the norm around her. She sees him around tohru & gets to perceive his true unprovoked character. “He is nice guy”.

I really wanted to punch kureno this chapter.. like Shigure is a jerk shitty dog for sleeping with akito’s mom but kureno... dude.. you submissively sleep with the guy’s eternal love interest & still walks in on him talking to her!!! lol. you’re mentally, emotionally & physically weaker than him & yet, she puts you on her bed, not him & you, tho not wanting her at all, dont walk away. No wonder shigure is defeated & wishing for someone like tohru, lol! Even if shigure met an older tohru-like person, it wont work. shigure deserve someone like him mean, schemer & loves playing power games. Tohru is someone who values honesty & commutation, not saying she’s an angel on earth, but tohru knows who suits her.. except fate is saying: NO. .... currently. lol.

I know kureno’s weakness is part of his character & I love that such characters exits. There are ppl ike that in real life. It’s just this chapter, I felt shigure’s frustration. XD

Yuki in this ep is the best yuki. no exaggeration here, I love when yuki is calmly thoughtful of others & here its kyo of all ppl !!!! cutting this scene is sad.. without it, kyo & yuki remain a cat & rat in the anime. Only ever thinking abt each other thro envious binoculars or hateful words or yuki giving kyo comedic hitting or life’s problem-solving hitting. Why can’t anime yuki be interactive outside his self-centered issues is beyond me.

Momiji & kyo’s interactions are always the best! whether comedy or drama.

I hated the curry cooking scene in the anime... so weirdly out of the ep’s flow.. very forced comedy... in the manga it had a purpose! not just quick add comedy cuz next shot momiji curse breaks & drama & we’ll close the ep with tears & sadness & glimpses of hope...

I love haru’s answer to hiro... so him.. “a guy can’t fall in love?”so chill.. so..simple.

(Also, 'we want to borrow that ability' is that a Yamamoto situation foreshadowing? Or maybe this is just common behavior in school sports teams - I wouldn’t know)

Omg, this is the start of Reborn's weird hideouts and coffee addiction XD.

Then some classic textbook manipulation to teach a lesson. It's also for comedy and kicks.

'You're feeling good because someone stroked your ego' … Reborn this kid's been bullied since he was like 5, he deserves an effing break. Also is this Reborn also trying to teach Tsuna that he can't be relied on?

Cue unintentional peer pressure by Kyoko. Oh, damn people even made banners!

Wow, I forgot that Hayato shows up this early! Either my memory is bad or anime makes it take longer. Or both XD

I understand Tsuna wanting to bow out - I mean, until today all of these people have treated him horribly, being suddenly popular feels great, but they're also quick to turn - so Tsuna doesn't owe them anything, he can even look at it as helping them out by leaving, since he sucks so bad.

Then in that same breath I also like Tuna's growth here. The way he sees that all of them are also injured and doing their best. Here, Tsuna, for maybe the first time in a decade, feels like he's a part of a team - not just an add-on.

He squares up and decides to do his best - accepts responsibility for something he agreed to.

I also know that that is the lesson here, about not taking shortcuts or not over-relying to your 'magic bullet' instead of hard work, and even if you fail you've given it your all...I gotta say tho, it's kinda jarring here XD in chapter 2.

The tone is already mismatched a bit.

And now we get into the details on the naming of the 'Deathperation shot' and how it's name is changed depending on where you're hit.

Now I can watch in real time as this story detail becomes irrelevant and fades away.

I mean it's nice flavor, but it doesn't really have consequence (none that I remember) and mostly sounds like something Reborn made up on the spot. 'I shot you in the legs so it's Jump Shot' kind of thing.

The way Reborn says it also makes it sound like the bullet has another name aside from Deathperation Bullet (Dying Will Bullet) and that's just what it's called after you're shot in the head with it. (not before, see the distinction?)

Also, earlier he said that if there's no regret you just die….so it's called Deathperation | Dying Will only if you're shot in the head and then get up.

...Why am I going into the complexities of a gag that will never be plot-relevant in this way?

Let's get back into it.

Reborn says the same things I thought about 'relying on the magic bullet' - but he gets all 'but you assuaged my fears' and it's... well since I know Reborn already it just kind of look like he's fcking with Tsuna (and giving Tsuna 'he cares about what's best for me' feels which is something I'm always iffy on, but would like to believe in) - which is why we end with a gag.

Because this is still a gag manga, I must not forget. I cannot forget.

Narration at the end makes it sound like Tsuna is using intuition to read Reborn's expression and what readers see might be what Tsuna sees, rather than what other characters would be able to pick up from Reborn's expression… hmmm...Interesting.

5) Gojo sees Utahime grumpy most of the time so when he saw her happy and enthusiastic ab baseball game what was his reaction?

6) There's audio drama where Gojo goes to maid cafe which is probably 18+ rated bc Yuji got embarrassed when he read the sign. Now imagine Utahime finding him leaving at the doors. Her reaction?

7) Do you think Utahime ever helped 'babysitting' Megumi and Tsumiki but the kids don't remember? This day gojohime parenting dynamic evolved. How are they functioning as a 'family'?

8) Geto, Shoko, Gojo and Utahime play party games. Of course Geto is the one who knows Gojo the most since they're best friends but how is Utahime doing when it comes to knowing him and vice versa? Bc if they notice things about each other that no one else does they'd probably get teased for it. 😂

9) Was Gojo ever jealous of Kusakabe and Utahime being friendly?

15) Yk, it would be rly hypocritical if Gojo slept around while Utahime became let's say 'closer' to Kusakabe for instance and Gojo became jealous bc he doesn't have any right to meddle in other people's business. What would he do to prove that he's better? Would he give up on something? Would he be able to change for her?

1) When I saw a manga panel of them and an artist’s drawing of Gojo touching Uta’s scar. I still remember it vividly until today, and now look where I am. :)

2.) According to Gege, no. But according to me, he knows but does not awknowledged it. Gojo afterall grew up for himself as the strongest, so it might be hard for him to empathize in some stuff like Yuji does. 3.) I imagine she can summon contracted shaman spirits when she preforms miko ceremonies with her singing. There’s a lot of theory in this, but I would like to think she’s good in sealing techniques. She uses performs ceremonies to trap curses and finish them off with her voice. It’s a mixture of Toge’s CT and shaman ceremonies for exorcism. 4.) The ones who drinks tries to get themselve drunk because of Gojo. Gojo would probably do that with a parfait in hand. Lucky paintbrush. 5.) He’s in love and tries to keep that goofy smile of his but fails. 6.) Utahime would probably pretend that she doesn’t know him. She’s mature, so maybe she’ll not judge him, its his life. But it doesn’t stop fanfictions of her getting slightly hurt and jealous, heheheh. 7.) Utahime is mom, Gojo is brat 1, and the kids are angels. As much as Gojo tries to become a ‘father’ he ends up as the real baby. Tsumiki is close to both of them and finds Gojo funny, while Megumi favors Utahime more. I love this family trope. 8.) Utahime would wing everything about Gojo being annoying. However, she’ll also be suprised from time to time with new information of Gojo. It shows that he’s also still human despite his ‘god-like facade’ and she appreciates that. He’s still a jerk tho. 9.) Why do you think Kusakabe was in the Tokyo School in the first place? It’s because Gojo refuses to let him come near Utahime. So Gojo is stuck with the swordsman and annoys him daily to keep an eye on him. XD 10.) According to some Gege said he’s a manwhore. But there are also diferrent ways how to interpret the translations. For me, he can be both either way. BUT I KNOW UTAHIME WILL BE HIS LAST AND INFINTY. 11.) Gojo not being able to protect Utahime. While Utahime believes she doesn’t need his help. 12.) Maybe he did. It’s normal in their line of work to be betrayed, and I think Utahime already steeled her heart and Gojo’s aware of it. She’s a sorcerer for a long time now, and it means, she’s also crazy in some way. Her menatlity is just that strong. Cue the Train Scene of her being professional. 13.) When she was going to be promoted as a grade one sorcerer. 14.) Interesting... They’d talk about men but ends up complaining about Gojo (just Uta while Shoko half-listens and remembers Geto). 15.) Is this going to be a fic? Lol, Gojo in some way is hyprocital. Everyone is. He can change if he wants to, starting by make amends and trying to act as just “Satoru Gojo”, not with all those strongest speech of his. Once Utahime would notice this (she does already) and the rest, you can say he’s changed for the better. BUT IMAGINE THE DRAMA IN A FIC ABOUT THIS. That’s been my headcanon for a while now, actually!! Ah man, I’m sorry but I’m not the best person to ask this to! I started this sideblog cause I had too many followers on my main and I didn’t want my stuff to be seen by that many people at first, so whatever I did probably isn’t what you’re looking for :( but really there isn’t much to it, just post whatever you like to draw, tag it as best as you can (but remember that only the first five tags appear in the search page) and be patient, since whatever you do at first you won’t get much attention anyway - the only real advice I can give is to draw something that makes you happy and that you’d draw anyway even if no one were to see it, it’ll make keep posting despite a possible lack of activity a lot easier!

THANK YOU FOR LIKING HIM HE’S CALLED DAVIDE Dav for short, he’s a cat of a man and a music instrument enthusiast (mostly string ones, but he’s very good with the piano as well) - he works in a music instruments store, and he’s a uni student majoring in philosphy! He doesn’t like bothersome things, he isn’t very good at taking anything seriously or putting effort in stuff, but he’s very chill to spend time with and generally a nice chat both if you want mindless thoughts or deep conversations (he’s a philosophy major after all). He can’t sing for shit, he’s got two cats (tago and schelly!), and he just wants a quiet life to laze around but all his friends are hurricanes in human bodies, but then again, he picked them himself so he can’t complain. Picking up gofushi crumbs from the manga

Disclaimer: Beware of anime/manga spoilers. This is just me commenting on the manga with the lenses of a gofushi fan. So, it’s just my opinion...

This section runs from Vol. 0 - Chapter 1 to Volume 1- Chapter 5.

About gofushi dynamic, mind reading, protectiveness and others.

(Volume 0) Chapter 1

Not gofushi centric, but it would go well with a Hanahaki AU. For Gojou to call it a personal theory, it seems to me like he has knowledge about it or given it some thought already. Why is that? What prompted him to consider that love is the most twisted curse?

I recall some fan theories mentioning that love can then become a way for Gojou to be wounded... it truly makes it seem more likely for hanahaki to appear.

Chapter 1

I love how the manga starts with the two of them talking on the phone~ Also, my thoughts before shipping them... "wow, does that person on the phone like to bully him? Dunno if I like bullies lolol but also Fushiguro seems to have a bad mood too." and "This Fushiguro guy seems so on edge everytime (throughout chapter 1)".

Chapter 2

Gojou taking pictures of Megumi... I wonder if he keeps a file with his pics? XD The first time I read it, I thought: “How mean, wait a moment, does he always do this?” and “ For how long does he keep the pics?” Also, Megumi looks so angry but resigned at the same time or he is probably too injured to stop it.

Despite what he says here, I HC that Gojou is overprotective of Megumi. Since he was the only first year during that time, I suppose he usually went on solo missions?

Megumi automatically assuming that they are souvenirs speaks how used he is to that tendency from his sensei. Also, Gojou being able to mind read what Megumi was thinking XD

I got confused for a bit on my first time reading it, because it’s a “thought” bubble, while Gojou’s is a “speech” bubble and it made me wonder how did he know Fushiguro was thinking that? Either they are very close or reading his face is really easy.

Still, the word souvenir is used here. Which is a much more accurate guess for what is going on in their thinking process (in a: could've been a snack).

Or: “I hope you don’t mind that I’m using you to look cool in front of my student.” That’s one interesting sensei we have. Although I think he just likes to show off in general lolol

Protecting Megumi ;-; the seemingly simple panel that made me think more than what I intended.

Why take the effort in drawing Megumi there? Moreover, why fight that close to Megumi? Gojou is keeping a certain distance between him and Megumi so that Sukuna doesn’t hurt his student... For a story telling technique, it makes Gojou look like a more thoughtful character.

Personal opinion --> Personal... feelings?

Megumi being selfish with his requests @_@ and asking something like that to Gojou because he knows he can be trusted with the issue. Gojou calls Megumi a kawaii student, which makes this scene even cuter lolol.

Also, saying: "Leave it to me!". When dealing with Megumi's Zen'in deal, Yuuji's execution and Okkotsu’s execution. Aaah. Because he is the strongest, he knows that he can fulfill such requests, plus he is helping people who can become his allies, so it’s a win-win situation.

I think... from my first time reading this, I felt like they had a closer relationship already and was suspicious about them. I mean, who goes taking pics of someone bruised saying he will show it to others (does he always do this?), is able to read their mind regarding souvenirs, wants to show off, and then helps with personal requests? smh gofushi already strong by ch2 for my past non shipper self

Chapter 3

How does he know he know that? Gojou might have been told about it (because he asked?) or actually went to see him @_@

He really likes to tease Megumi, huh? XD He would probably take more photos to add to his folder of Megumi pics. Why didn’t they add Gojou saying “True” in the anime tho.

Edit: After rewatching the anime, he did :D it was just a fast line.

Enjoy your youth, Megumi! He wants Megumi to have more friends? :D

Although it’s kinda sad... Megumi who is usually distanced from people, but I wonder if he feels lonely, if Gojou feels that Megumi is lonely. And hopes that Megumi makes more friends ;-; It worked out in the end, during the Death Painting arc.

Even though Megumi may not like/agree with what Gojou does, he still goes along with it... it’s just-- this form of acceptance? or resignation lol After all the time they have known each other? Maybe he thinks he may end up liking it in a: it’s not so bad after all.

Also, in the anime they went out the same day which cuts the time that the three could have known each other :(

Edit: Yes, from the rewatch, the line was the same as in the manga.

Chapter 4

I wonder if Gojou ever pranked Megumi with a custom uniform order- and that’s why Megumi warns Yuuji.

Gojou and Megumi's matching uniforms cough cough with the high neck style. Megumi warning Yuuji about this side of him. That side being: how he does uncalled things? Megumi learnt to put up with that lolol

...and my heart just goes aaaaaaaahhh since the 9 years made him used to it and reflects a bit of domesticity? Even though it can be interpreted as resignation, it still makes this a beautiful relationship?? ;-;

Megumi asking Gojou about his plans, is this how they usually exchange information about each other’s schedules-

I just like to see his reaction whenever there are such anthics haha. In a: “Oh, here we go again, and my classmates are too easily excited”. Then he already knows how it's going to play out, and Megumi is not even angry about it, just disappointed? Because he only has a sweat drop and not a vein popping.

Chapter 5

Gojou choosing to sit on the floor rather than on the other... stool? or seat? in the bottom left corner, to be closer to Megumi.

Also reminds me of their first encounter, where the way he squatted made him be near Megumi's height.

Maybe an inconsistency from the drawing, or not enough space in the panel, but Gojou shifted closer to Megumi lolol

I like how it's more obvious in the anime, they had an extra scene animated where they showed Megumi and Gojou escorting the kid to his home :D Still, Megumi is shown trailing behind in the panel, so it can be inferred.

Why have two people do that and not just one? Megumi could have done that on his own? So that Gojou can have more time to get to know his two new students? He is a busy person after all. Alternatively, Megumi could have stayed back. Or... what if Gojou is being protective so he went with Megumi too?

Can he really read Megumi that easily? Even if he is able to, he could just say something else.
