sokka is absolutely the kind of guy that requires head scratches. at the end of a long day there is no better way to unwind than lay on the sofa between zuko’s legs, with his back to zuko’s chest while he runs his fingers through his hair. there’s something so calming in receiving scalp scratches, it instantly flips the switch in sokka’s restless brain and he usually ends up dozing off in the movie’s first 20 minutes. whether it be zuko’s hands running down his nape or skirting along his temples, there are very specific patterns sokka likes, and he’s also rather demanding and strict with the grades he gives zuko’s scratches (cause you know zuko is competitive af and never misses the chance to strive for a full 10).

sokka is also the biggest back stratches enjoyer. some nights he drops on zuko’s chest and requires back scratches like an overworked, petulant panther; zuko will nose the crown of his head, place a soft kiss there, and gently start scratching warm expanses of skin, feeling the muscle in sokka’s back gradually relax and distend. it’s a soothing activity for both of them, because sokka’s happy sighs and his grounding weight, the awareness that he’s safe in zuko’s arms is also comforting for zuko.

okay, first of all, Zuko LOVES this about you

you cannot tell me this boy hasn’t been craving touch and affection ever since his mother left

he is starved

so the fact that you always love to be close to him or touching him in some way makes his heart melt

you are basically always glued to his side at all times

it’s rare to find zuko without you clinging to his side, but he doesn’t mind in the slightest

anytime you’re beside him he always offers you his hand to hold or his arm to grab onto

when you rest your head on his shoulder he always makes sure to press a tender kiss to your hair

it’s just a given that any seat beside Zuko is automatically yours

for the times when you can’t be together, he always makes sure to leave a piece of him with you so that you feel comforted in his absence

this ranges from his cloaks to his robes to little gifts he finds for you

you guys have matching bracelets okay i don’t make the rules that’s just how it is

matching bracelets made from lava stone so everyone else knows that you’re both part of a matching set

he keeps a portrait of you in his room and you keep one of him

ofc his favorite thing is coming home to you after a long day of being Fire lord and immediately letting you envelop him in your comforting embrace

WIP || Zutara ❤️️💙

What I've been working on 😭 I wont lie….currently regretting including the background in the first pic. Dont know what I was thinking honestly. Making things difficult for myself seems to be a common theme yet I keep doing it afaofgisghskl I know I'll feel even shttier if I give up now though so I decided to go through with it. The second pic feels like a breeze in comparison and any stress buildup I get when I think about the first drawing just fades when I look at the second drawing. But between the two, I'm still putting most of my focus on the princess mononoke au because I'm very curious how it'll look once it's done and I do love stubio ghibli based prompts. Regardless of my constant complaining, I'm proud I took in the challenge of including a background when there was literally no reason for me to do so. Come to think of it, I think this is probably the first (or second, my memory is not the best) time I put in actual effort on a bg? like, coloring included? Anyway, I'll consider this another learning experience so it's not all bad.
