Extra Elements redesigns: Tox

Character notes: A graffiti artist from Ninjago city who tags their work with the name 'Tox', short for Toxikita. They're also a chemist, although their heart really isn't in the profession. They instead uses their degree to make more of that oddly vibrant spray paints and hair dyes, which they sell on the side. They wear a gas mask in order to shield others from their toxic breath.

Elemental notes: Masters of poison have an unusual toxic consistency in their blood, which manifests in their saliva and breath that is deadly to anyone else, making them a walking bio-weapon. This element tends to skip generations and family lines all together, so they're aren't very many of them (at least the ones that have been recorded.)

“I’ve been known to exhibit...toxic traits.”

Been dying to draw Legacy!Tox since first tossing her into the world a little early, buuut after that scribble I did the other day I felt like I had to do her proper justice snksnksnk

As usual, a few fun facts!:

Tox did not inherit the Element of Poison—it was passed on willingly by the previous master (being her aunt, who had received it willingly herself). She had been asked if she wanted the powers; Tox said yes, not entirely understanding the burden that came with them. 

Upon gaining the element, her hair and tongue turned green and her body started sprouting her “freckles” (which are just a side effect of inheriting the element later in life as opposed to being born with it). People tended to think she was diseased and constantly turned her away from places, causing her to drop out of school, but upon working at the Rockshot Club, had started telling people it’s just a crazy tattoo. 

(Cole, kind boy that he is, thought she was just born with inexplicable green freckles but was too nervous to ever actually ask and will fight anyone that tries to make a big deal out of it. This is part of why Tox took him under her wing...but never actually told him the truth because she thought it was funny).

(Listen there’s a whole story here but that’s Season 4 territory—)

Does not bother with people she does not like. If she’s teasing you? She likes you. If she hates you? Pretends you don’t exist. 

Tox is currently 20 in 20X1. She is 3 (and a half) years older than Cole. 

The vials hanging from her belt are actually antidotes for her poison (as in, poison she conjured up as opposed to preexisting poison she simply manipulates) in case someone gets caught up in an outburst of hers or she goes too hard with her powers. 

Her powers also include extracting preexisting poison from other people—this includes when people get drunk on alcohol, for example, and is partly why she got tangled up in the Rockshot Club to begin with (which also helped efforts to make it a more clean place to hang out). People she removes alcohol from are spared the adverse affects, but will still experience a hangover—just, um, on fast forward. 

Like most of the current Derivative Elemental Masters, she is aware of the Eye Color Rules, but is unaware of the full extent of the Elemental Compass (unlike Karlof, who is actually the other way around ahahaha).

Part 3 of doing specific Eye Color references! For NRG Mode, I didn’t feel like doing the effects, so I just put the base colors that I tend to use for them instead! Any names that happen to be listed are an example of a person who would have those specific eyes as well~

Will group all of the references into one post once I finish them, but for now, the sheets for Metal, Nature, Poison, and Time are below!

No fun facts about these ones because anything I would have wanted to say was already put in the Elemental Compass post snksnksnk (other than maybe that Descendants for Time are the second rarest eye color...right after the Green Element, which obviously only has one possible person that could have inherited it)

Miasma = Morro x Tox

A miasma is described as “a harmful influence or atmosphere”. This applies to Morro’s whole ghost deal (ominous presence?), plus his element of Wind factoring in as air. Tox’s element of Poison is what makes it to be harmful or oppressive, given the toxic nature of it.
