My entire reaction to season 4 of The Dragon Prince Mystery of Aaravos

- Claudia at first I was like "aw" then when she tricked Rayla into thinking she threw the coins I was like "FUCK YOU" but then when Terry convinced her to give them I was like " YES GO MY FAVORITE TRANS BOY"

- GIVE ME MORE SCREEN TIME FOR SOREN

I am thinking about “the answer to this riddle has a hole in the middle” and how the answer is “love,” and I know they say that the last line, “without it you cannot start over” is referring to the “hole in the middle” of love, the o, which you need to start spelling the word “over” BUT it is interesting to think about that last line as referring to love???

Like, I don’t have any coherent thoughts (I rarely do, especially when it comes to analyzing things), but I’m rotating the idea of love as a component of getting a new start

 And maybe that’s someone external to show you love, like Mr. Benedict taking in... well basically everyone and giving them a home and a family, or how it could refer to having love for yourself?? Like a new start involving being kinder towards yourself or something along those lines, or going into a new situation so that you can start to love yourself. I don’t know, but I am Rotating it.

Soren and Dark Magic

The exchange between Claudia and Soren’s in “Beneath the Surface” has caused some confusion in the fandom. Specially, these two lines:

Claudia is discussing something that, thus far, had only been mentioned in the novels. In the season one novelization, it’s mentioned that Soren was a sickly child and Viren used Dark Magic to save him.

Apparently, whatever Viren did to save Soren heavily disfigured him, driving Viren to glamour himself using the sunray monarchs. The shot of Soren holding the butterfly might allude to this. 

I wonder how Soren will come to terms with this in later seasons. He hates Dark Magic, and thinks the world would be better off with out it, which is understandable, but at the same time he owes his life and health to it. Does that make his existence somehow unnatural? Does he believe it (or come to believe) would’ve been better if Viren let him die or if Claudia left him completely paralyzed instead of using Dark Magic on him? None of these things were his fault, and he didn’t ask for it, but people carry around misplaced guilt and shame for things that aren’t there fault all the time. Hopefully this is something that’ll get explored some more.
