ACR, Aging Mods, and You
Otherwise known as “A Tutorial to Making ACR’s Fertility Curve Work With Any Aging Mod + Mertikora’s Aging Mod With A Custom Fertility Curve,” but I couldn’t really fit that into the title card.
I didn’t feel like loading up my actual dl folder because that would take roughly six years to load, so I popped into a test hood, took some pictures, and for some reason made the thumbnail for this tutorial a parody of those tabloids they sell in supermarkets because I couldn’t think of anything else and I was feeling lazy because it’s roughly 302948203948 degrees outside.
TL:DR: It’s tacky, but intentionally tacky, so it’s fine.
Luckily, this download doesn’t contain any other similarities to those tabloids, other than the “fertility curve” part and ACR’s tendency to make your sims instantly fall in love with anything that moves.
But wait! You’re in luck, because there’s a version that works with Romantic Standards, too, so your sims will have significantly higher standards for romantic and...er...woohoo-oriented relationships.
But what does all of this “fertility curve” stuff mean in the first place, you ask? Well, it means that you can customize your sims’ fertility levels (AKA how likely they are to become pregnant during woohoo) and have those fertility levels change with age; a sim who is only one day into adulthood can have different chances for pregnancy than another sim who is a day away from aging up into an elder, and so on.
Like this!
There have been a few edited aging mods like this, but they were usually pretty long (although if you like having a long lifespan, try Almighty-Hat’s “It’s The Gestation” aging mod or one of the edited versions, like this one by @dramallamadingdang or this one by @kidsimblr), and I wanted something shorter, so I grabbed Mertikora’s aging mod here and dug through various tutorials and threads, asked around, poked at the ACR - Main controller in SimPE, and finally got something that (I think) works!
Now, for those of us with ADD whose brains like to skip over massive blocks of text, here’s what you need to know:
Info - Please Read!
- contains an edited version of ACR Controller - Main, so that your sims’ fertility levels will go up and down according to their age
- works with Mertikora’s aging mod, but also includes a tutorial for making (almost) any aging mod work with ACR’s fertility curve! I say “almost” because, according to Almighty-Hat, “you can have 127 days of autonomous fertility at most, without trying to figure out multipliers (deep magic I do not understand),” so basically you’re fine as long as you don’t have an aging mod that makes the adult stage ridiculously long.
Installation Instructions
1. put Lifespan_EqualPlantsim_Mertikora.package and Lifespan_Mertikora.package (included in the download) in your Downloads folder* (or, download them here! Thanks to the anon who reminded me that I forgot the link)!
2. download ACR V2 if you don't already have it (use this version if you use Romantic Standards, and this version if you don’t)
3. replace the file "ACR - Controller - Main.package" with ONE of the files from the folder labeled "ONLY CHOOSE ONE" (choose "ACR - Controller - Main - kat-simss - Fertility Curve for Mertikora's Aging Mod - RS Compatible.package" if you use the Romantic Standards mod, OR "ACR - Controller - Main - kat-simss - Fertility Curve for Mertikora's Aging Mod.package" if you DON'T use Romantic Standards)
*I’ve included this for the sake of convenience just in case the aging mod is updated or MTS goes down or something, but if Mertikora isn’t okay with reuploading their files, let me know and I’ll link to their mod page instead.
**Note: You may also want to download the Age Correct mod, otherwise existing sims won't switch over to the new aging mod until they age up to their next life stage.
Credits
I wouldn’t have been able to even start this project had it not been for the work of Almighty-Hat, the wonderful folks at MTS who answered my questions, and another wonderful simmer whose comment on one of my posts helped me to piece everything together! I can’t find their original comment, and I don’t want to share the google doc they sent me with instructions for privacy reasons, so if anyone knows who that was, please reach out to me and I’ll add them to the credits. Thank you, kind stranger!
And, finally, I’m going to tag @mortia because I remember that she was looking for a different aging mod a while back (go check out Dallubach while you’re at it, it’s beautiful)!

Happy mid-September Halloween! This is -- I think -- the first Halloween in the decade+ that I've been here where I've managed to celebrate it with my fellow simblrs. So here's my favorite Pleasantview teens dressed in homage to some of my favorite simblrs:
Featuring Angela Pleasant as the newest addition to my coalition of faves, Hermia Capp from @angelapleasant's Something Wicked.
Lilith Pleasant as the man in the long black coat, Nervous Subject from @serabiet's Strange County.
Dirk Dreamer and Dustin Broke as Ed and Stede from Our Flag Means Death, as seen on @ofmdee's simblr. I don't watch the show, but I did my best with what I've seen on tumblr and google images.
Gvaudoin Tricou as @ghostwaltzsims's beautiful Harbinger, bleeding eye edition because I will stan that one into eternity.
Aaaaand Fricorith Tricou as living legend @bayoubashsims (please don't take a restraining order out on me).
(And Lucy Burb as Alice from Alice in Wonderland because I ran out of steam, and I already had that costume.)

Theodore has been promoted at the lab to Soil Identifier. Sounds like something that he'd be interested in.
Theodore: Technically, I also function as a soil identifier, since I have a small suite of chemical analysis tools built-in.
Clove wandered in unprompted around ten to watch TV.
Theodore: You are welcome to watch your show here, but we were planning to go to bed.
Chiana: Theo!
Clove: But you do not sleep—ohhhhh. Wow, I wish I could wink right now!

“-so my dad says that if we’re gonna experiment with juice and nectar and stuff, he wants us to do it at home. And then he said it was so he could put it on Simtube and my other dad confiscated his phone. So that’s why I know where all the juice is!”
“Cool. My dad keeps all his cooking wine in his inventory.”
“Um, you’re not like, drunk, though, right? I don’t think I’m, um, drunk or anything, I just never really got how cute and beautiful you were until today? But I don’t think that’s the nectar?”
“I mean, I don’t think I’m drunk just because that was my first cup of juice? Like, Dolly? For serious, I’ve always thought you were super cute. I’m, like, drunk on your adorable little face right now. I didn’t think you were into me, though?”
“I didn’t know if you liked boys! You’re always flirting with my sister and her friends.”
“That’s such a huge misunderstanding? We should clear it up right now. With our mouths.”
“Oh, um, like . . . you mean by kissing, right? Because we’re talking about it right-mmph!”
