It saddens me to see such an iconic structure in disarray. Not because the razor wire is there, but because it had to be put there. As I understand it, the company who owns the land has placed the wire to prevent vandalism and trespassing. The bridge stands some 350'al above the creek! Naturally, people are attracted to it, yet they disprect it. They disrespect the lands around it. And they're foolish enough to go beyond their limits; not climbing onto it, but doing so beyond their experience or common sense and falling as a result. I'd likely have climbed on it not for the razor wire. I would have been dreadfully careful though; I've been in worse situations in the mountains, alone. This wonderful strutuce could be a safe, awe-inspiring attraction. There are many to fault that it's not, but it's primarily the visitors whom I blame. I believe the razor wire is to protect visitors and the land owners; I may be swayed otherwise though. There was quite a lot of trash around. Of which, I tried to pickup what I could clamor away with; leave everything better than you found it. Unfortunately, too many haven't followed through with that.
