bloom preview (vash x oc nsfw)
A little preview of a fic I'm working on involving Vash's bloom period! It will involve some copious smut but also go over some of Vash's little blooming quirks leading up to the Big Secks. This preview itself is SFW.

“Sixty bucks a night?! For a single-bed?!” Ari shouted. “That’s insane!”
“No, it’s sixty a night for two beds,” the innkeeper said. “Two people, two beds. Simple as that.”
“Oh, no-no-no,” Vash chirped, grabbing the rest of Ari’s arm and pulling her to his chest. "We're dating!"
The innkeeper looked at Vash. Then at Ari, then back at Vash. He smirked and gave a wry chuckle. “Yeah. Sure.”
Ari pursed her lips. “I don’t think you’re taking us seriously.”
“I’m not.”
“Well, we are dating and we would like a room with one bed, please.”
“Listen, kid,” the innkeeper said. “I’ve been around the block and I’ve seen enough kids pretending they’re dating to save on a room, and I’m not gonna fall for that again.”
Ari’s jaw dropped. “What do you mean pretending?! We are dating! What proof do you want?!”
“Babyyy,” Vash whined. “It’s no big deal, we can just push the beds together! Besides…” He threaded their fingers together, batting his lashes. “We’ll need the extra bed when we wear out the first.” He leaned towards her, and to her shock and horror, licked her cheek.
Ari turned redder than Vash’s coat and locked eyes with him, and he kissed the tip of her nose. She wanted to chastise him, but the look on his face made her breath catch in her throat. He was giving her the most adorable, most painfully-obvious bedroom eyes.
Oh, boy.
“I think I’ll take my chances.” The innkeeper stamped his book and closed it. “Ya get a two-bedroom single-bath for sixty double-bucks a night. Take it or leave it.”
Ari tore herself away from Vash’s gaze long enough to mutter “Y-yeah. Sure.” She snatched the key, grabbed her boyfriend’s arm, and dragged them both up the stairs.

“Ooh, this is nice!” Vash chirped as they entered the room. He let his bag fall on the floor and he skipped over to the beds, crawling on top of one. “Which one should we use? This one’s a little further from the bathroom, but it’s nice and boxed into the room! I know they both feel the same, but positioning’s important-”
Ari let him rattle on about the room as she shut the door behind her. Her mind was in a different place at the moment. Vash was a really touchy guy, but that day had felt different somehow. When did licking her in public suddenly become appropriate? It felt too chaotic, even for Vash’s personality.
“Vash,” she asked, causing the man to perk up. “Is there something going on with you?”
Vash sat up on the bed and smiled. “What do you mean, baby?”
Ari narrowed her eyes, taking in the scene before her. Vash’s bag had been carelessly left on the floor instead of being set on the nearby table. His boots were still muddy, because he hadn’t bothered to wipe them on the mat outside. He had gone straight for the beds instead of taking his time to look around the room. When he sat up, he kept his legs spread and his hands dainty placed in the gap between his thighs. He was still wearing as sweet a smile as he’d always been, but the look in his eyes felt so strangely vacant. The way he stared at her, it was like she was the only thing that existed in the universe.
Ari’s eyes widened as the realization hit her. The sugary-sweet tones. The overly-intimate touches. The licking. The sudden fixation on the beds. The “Ari only” tunnel vision. The “fuck me” eyes. The way his back was arching just enough for his cute little butt to stick out.
“Oh, my god,” she said. “You’re starting to bloom.”
The man on the bed tilted his head, his smile faltering just enough for her to take notice. “Vash, don’t lie to me.” Vash looked down at his hands and he began fiddling with his fingers. “Vash.”
He looked up at her, an embarrassed smile spreading across his face. “Uh…” he began. “You caught me?”
Ari fell back against the door and groaned. “Vaaa-aaash!” The man flinched and scooted back on the bed. “You’re supposed to tell me when this gets close, you never do-”
“But I don’t want you to worry, angel!” Vash exclaimed. “You have enough on your plate running around the desert with me, I can handle the first weeks on my own.”
“Babe, that’s not the point!” Ari protested, making her way over to the bed. “I want you to tell me about these things, because I want to help you get through them. I love you, I’m happy to do it!” She sat next to him on the bed, taking his hands in hers. “Besides, I need to help you in a more…entertaining way.”
Vash perked up, his eyes shimmering with excitement. “You…you’d really do that for me?”
“You act like I haven’t done it before.” Ari stroked his knuckles. “Vash, you’re the most important thing in my life. I’m happy to let you incapacitate us for over a month if that’s what you need to do.” She brought his hands up and kissed his knuckles, smiling at his breathy sigh. “Not to mention…” she added, wiggling her eyebrows. “You happen to be the best I’ve ever had.”
Vash’s entire body visibly shuddered and an elated trill erupted from his throat. Ari laughed out loud as he leaned in to nuzzle her face, his happy chirps mixing perfectly with the sound of her voice.
