My Pedicure Routine

Step 1: I remove all polish.

I buy my acetone in bulk from Sally’s, and use cotton pads and buds from Muji as I find they don’t leave any kind of cotton residue.

Step 2: I remove all hair and wash my feet.

I use Veet Expert (stronger than Veet Pure) to remove any stray and fine hairs from my feet, then wash them quickly but thoroughly. I fill up my tub with warm water and a capful of Dr Bronner’s unscented soap, and then wash with Hibiscrub.

Step 3: I soak my feet.

This is the soak I do: I use 1 part Listerine Original and 1 part white vinegar to 4 parts hot water, and then add quite a bit of Dead Sea salt. I soak for 20 minutes.

Step 4: I remove calluses.

I’m very tough on calluses because I like my feet to be baby-soft. Although I use glycolic acid regularly on my feet, and a peeling mask once every 3 months, I also do this routine once a week. I start off with the Mr Pumice Callus Terminator and I leave that on for 30 minutes before washing off in warm water with the St. Ives scrub. Then I exfoliate with the sefidab and kiseh mitt combined, and lightly rub over my feet with the chiropody sponge. If there’s anything left, then I file it off carefully with a rasp.

Step 5: I cut, file, and buff.

I first cut my nails straight with my clippers, tidy them up with scissors, and file briefly with my crystal file set. Then I focus on the cuticles: I apply Sally Hansen’s problem remover for 5 minutes, push with my cuticle knife, and cut any excess with the nippers. Finally, I buff my nails to a shine with the chamois and buffing cream, and wipe everything off with acetone.

Step 6: I apply polish.

I apply my polish (BioSculpture Gemini ‘Baby Heart Confetti’) with brushes from Light Elegance, I use CND RidgeFX and Orly Bonder as basecoats, CND Vinylux as a topcoat, and finally spray everything down with SolarSpeed.

Step 7: I moisturise.

I quickly dip my nails in ice water for 5 minutes, before putting on the Neutrogena foot mask for 10 minutes. Then I moisturise and massage my feet with the Akileïne Nutri-Repair cream (I like this video for massage), and oil my cuticles with Cuccio's oil, before finally heating up unscented paraffin in the Rio heater and relax for 15 minutes.
