((Life for me has pretty much been: Wake up at 8am. Desperately try to get more sleep until 9 (usually I doze off for, like, 2 or 3 minutes at a time and that's it). Get ready for work. Leave between 9:30 and 9:45. Work from 10-1:30-ish (it's supposed to be until 1:15 but I'm never out of there on time). Get home around 1:45. Leave for work part 2 around 2:30. That goes from at least 3-7, usually closer to 7:20 when I finally leave (sometimes stay until 8 or 9). Get home between 7:30 and 7:45. Make a quick dinner, shower, etc. Around 8:30, watch Ba.tt.le.st.ar Gal.act.ica with a couple of friends (if things work out, this couple may eventually be more than just my friends, but we'll see how that goes ^^;) until about 10:30, then chat with them for a bit after that, usually until almost 11. Bedtime routine (wash face, brush teeth, etc etc). Then stare at drafts until midnight when I realize I need to get to bed because I know I'll be up earlier than I need to be. Then the weekends have consisted a lot of babysitting, running errands, and trying to finish unpacking here and there because it's been 4 months and finding time to unpack has been a pain in the ass with everything that's constantly going on. Also, I spent 3 hours on Saturday putting together a kitchen cabinet- thankfully we have extra screwdrivers because the phillip's-head screwdriver they included was such bad quality that it was messed up and unusable less than half an hour in because the metal of it was so soft -_-
ANYWAY- Work both shifts the rest of the week (except Friday, but only because I don't have to do the second shift, still have the first). Saturday we're going out for my dad's birthday (which was actually last week, but we couldn't make things work for going out last weekend like we'd wanted to). Saturday night is also game night, as usual. Then Sunday I *should* have some free time, but I also desperately need to get some cleaning done that's being semi-neglected throughout the week. So what I'm saying is Sundays are chore days.
If things go well, I should, soon, only be working the first shift in another week or two (with the second shift just being Fridays and when absolutely needed)? Right now both my sister and I are stuck doing the second shift every night (and have been since before mid-winter break last month) because the custodial staff is down two people (one girl broke her leg and has been out since October, I think? And the other has been on temporary (paid) probation since early February while they consider whether or not to fire him and go through all the legal jargon of all of that). But they should be coming to a decision about that soon, I would hope, which would mean that if he gets to come back, then we won't be working nights unless someone calls out. And if he doesn't come back, then they should be hiring someone to fill his place so we'll just have to wait until someone snags the job (hopefully, in that case, they'll offer it to my sister first because usually they try to offer it to substitutes and she really wants it, but we'll see). They're also slowly running out of budget for substitutes, so, that's something to consider, too.
ANYWAY- TL;DR: I've basically had no writing time / personal time and that's why I've not been around. Hopefully work stuff will calm down soon because leaving the house around 9:30am and not really getting to be home until usually after 7:30pm (sometimes 8:30pm or 9:30pm) has been exhausting ^^;
I'll try to be around on Sunday (probably focus on Rogue's blog because I've been writing the fic in my head at work most nights so I have a lot of muse for her AND her blog has been sorely neglected for at least a few months now WHICH MAKES ME SO MAD AT MYSELF). If I can even get one or two asks done, then I'll consider that an accomplishment at this point!
I'm so sorry about the long absence. I'm sorry to everyone for neglecting replies. I'm sorry to everyone I was writing with and haven't had the time / social and physical energy / emotional capacity to reach back out to in a while. That's on me. I dropped the ball on that. I've never been good at ooc communication anyway, tbh. I was really hoping things would be a little bit calmer after I moved, but instead they went in exactly the opposite direction and haven't really slowed down any since November. In fact, they've just gotten more hectic over the last few months ^^;
I adore you all so much and I really do hope that I can get back to writing soon. I've been missing it (and all of you) terribly.
Take care and I'll try to be around soon <3))

((Worked a couple hours longer last night than I have been, so I was exhausted u_u In good news, though, school was closed today so I didn't have to go in for my morning shift! I just have to go in for custodial this afternoon from 3 to 7 (unless people call out, in which case it might be 3 to 9 or later like it was last night ^^;).
I have work again tomorrow, both shifts, which means I'll be gone all day. But I'll try to hop on here tomorrow night if I'm not too worn out! And Saturday I'll be about a little bit before game night (hopefully) because I'm *mostly* caught up on chores (aside from the fact that we never finished unpacking despite it now being almost 3 months later ^^;). I'm also finally not sick anymore for the first time since November! Yay!
So, yeah, with that said- now that I'm kind of getting a handle on things work-wise, I'm gonna start trying to sprinkle in a little more time to be online here and there. It'll probably mostly be weekends (especially Sundays since Saturdays are game nights and that can start anywhere from, like, noon to 7pm depending on who's around and when ^^;). But I'll also try to be more actively around on nights when I don't work that second shift and am only working cafeteria!
Now that I'm finally working a job that has a more firm schedule (as opposed to retail that was all over the place) I'm hoping that I can work writing into it better than I have in the past <3 Thanks to everyone who's been patient with me while I've spent months getting my shit together! I love you all lots and here's to (hopefully) more writing in the rest of 2024! <3))

What if we have another Nibling story?
Context: Another 2 of my niblings came to stay this past weekend (a different 2 from the last story) Also, I now have a job which means that most days, I am working from early afternoon till late evening.
My mum planned a few things to do over the weekend, mainly activities for the niblings as I wouldn’t be present most of the time.
On the Saturday, whilst I was working my mum took the niblings to the cinema, whilst my dad stayed at home with my brother. They would be gone from around 6 till I finished work so Dad was instructed to have a curry for tea (this will be important later) Everyone has a good time, Saturday done.
Sunday however, is where things go wrong. Mum planned for us to go to a park in the morning but she overslept. Dad didn’t wake her up, with the excuse “I didn’t know you wanted to go out, and if you did you should have got up yourself” , despite knowing the plan. The morning is wasted and time for me to work. Mum drops me off, has a coffee and stays for a while. During this time, my dad decides ‘hey niblings, let’s go to a playground that we can walk to!’ (That is an imagined sentence as I wasn’t there)
Context: this ‘playground’ is not the park that my mum planned to go to, is about 1/2 an hours walk from our house and doesn’t contain any play equipment whatsoever.
Context: these two of my niblings are quite picky eaters so any mes my mum prepares for them are specifically planned
My dad phones my mum and askes her to pick them up. By this point it is around tea time so my mum goes to prepare 2 burgers for the niblings, but only finds one…
Mum(m): I swear there were two burgers here
Dad(d): I had one for tea last night
M: but I told you to have the curry!
D: but I only finished putting [brother] to bed at 9:30 and couldn’t be bothered to make the curry
M: but you knew that I had them saved for the niblings!
D: you never told me that they were serving a special purpose!
M: I literally went shopping for bits for the niblings yesterday! Did you not think about that?
…So yeah, he ignored my mum’s instructions, and of course it wasn’t his fault!
After the niblings finished tea they went to meet with their parents so they could go home.
When my mum, dad and brother got home (around 9) my brother wanted to watch tv. Straight away my dad was like ‘ok let’s go’, but mum interrupted and said no since it was at least 2 hrs past my brothers bedtime and he had to get up early the day after.
Also, at some point during the day, my dad received a phone call from his daughter (my half sister and the mother of the niblings from the previous story) who is in holiday who said that she and her kids could come up to ours for the day next week. Without checking with my mum to see if we already had plans, he suggested doing something that would leave us with little time for me to prepare for work.
Context: my half sister used to be a hair stylist and a while ago I asked her to dye my hair, due to our current jobs, it’s been hard to find a time where we were both free. The scheduled day is one of the only times we are both free. My mum later asked my dad…
M: what about mdaah’s hair?
D: she can do it after
M: no, mdaah has to work!
…meaning that my hair shall remain un dyed for a while longer.
So what have we learned today? My dad is lazy, unable to take responsibility for his actions, out of touch with the local area, disregarding of pre-made plans, and is a bed-time breaker in order to watch tv, and is wilfully ignorant of my work shifts.

God is in the house
Los Angeles, 2022
Last Sunday, I experienced such a crazy, bipolar day with the Lord. I am so blessed to have friends who worship God from every perspective on Earth. I pray they will put in a good word with Him for me; I need all the help I can receive.
After tearing down my wife Cynthia’s high school theater set and getting to bed late Saturday evening, I decided to skip the 9 AM service at Christian Assembly the following day due to needing to be at work at noon. To compensate for my venial sin, I rose early Sunday, prayed, and read the Catholic Mass epistles. After my spiritual restoration, I needed to hit the gym to build a more prominent temple for the Lord to fill.
Due to being exhausted after the last few weeks of double time at work and set building, I decided to stop at the corner gas station. I needed to pick up an energy drink with more caffeine than would be dispensed by a Starbuckson a typical workday.
I have been shopping at this corner station for the last fifteen years. I love to stop and bullshit with the owner and his now-grown sons, who have taken over the location and expanded its size and lucrative profitability. We aren’t just friends; we have built a community of quick fun. I don’t know how often I have driven off after paying for gas due to their infectious banter.
The father and mother are from Ramallah, Palestine, and emigrated to California decades ago. After they found out I was going to Rome and on to Israel, we discussed them opening some doors on the West Bank. When they asked me why I was going, I told them I needed to stand where Jesus walked. The father smiled as his family came from Palestine’s small and almost non-existent Christain faction.
That Sunday, I quickly ran up to the counter with my Pablo Escobar pre-workout drink and a bottle of organic water, and there was my old buddy Willie. He was prepared and waiting for me. We’ve known each other for years, bantering about life and God’s blessings. I mentioned my upcoming trip to Israel weeks ago but haven’t made it back in on the few shifts he covers a week.
On the counter were Willie’s Misbaha prayer beads: His cell phone filled with videos denying Israel’s claim to the land of his forefathers. Willie is from the Gaza strip back when Yasser Arafat ran the PLO, and no doubt Willie could easily stand in for him today. He will give me a contact down in Gaza during my visit so I can lift at one of the area’s top bodybuilding gyms, see his hometown, and hang out and eat with the muscular owners of the Middle East.
Assuring him I have no dog in the fight, and we move on to the power of Allah and the need for more kindness and love. He knows after years of friendship; I am going there to walk with God. Starting next Sunday morning, I will spend an hour a week at the gas station learning Arabic and Islam’s basic principles before heading over to my Pentecostal Touchdown Jesus church service.
After leaving the gym and adding a few square centimeters of temple footage, I quickly showered and drove to work, thinking about the middle east. Sundays are usually dead at the hotel I have been working at for a few weeks. This Sunday was going to be quite different; The hotel was alive with love and money. All the main ballrooms were rented out for a large Persian Orthodox Jewish wedding.
I worked at a large hotel down the street from the Los Angeles Airport a few years ago. It had a sizable Kosher kitchen. After the Rabbi blessed the kitchen, Hotel Security would lock down the room. Only the Rabbi or the LA Fire Marshal could enter. Being in security, I issued the keys to the Rabbi almost weekly as Orthodox Jewish weddings filled the hotel on weekends. We quickly became friends and traded wicked barbs for continuous laughter. Over time, he invited me into the club. Once in with the chosen ones, I wondered why anybody would ever want to leave.
After the pandemic, the hotel world changed dramatically. Both the workers and guests have taken the brunt of diminished services. I work in hotel security at a location that exists due to the building’s major historical significance and skid row, which creeps closer to the property daily. Discarded and forgotten people occupy sidewalks and open areas at will. I spend my days here trying to connect, even for a second, to give them a glimpse of love and compassion. I funnel all my tips and extra cash into their hands. A quick handshake and exchange of names and personal trivia finish our deal of communal respect.
I walk up from the Security Office to Post One in the spectacular central galleria. Louie the Sixteenth would proudly walk through this museum with his entourage if alive today. My boss doesn’t place me in this post due to my muscles and extensive security experience. I am a bullshitter, a natural at guest service, illicit financial sales, and running for poitical office before the digital age could disclose everybody’s sins. Cynthia claims that the muscles on the sides of my jaws could win the Mr. Olympia title.
The vibe of the galleria quickly changes over. The overworked banquet workers slip out of sight, and unsuspecting hotel guests run for cover. The wedding planners usher the bride and groom into the magnificent lobby. A dozen photographers follow them, catching every angle of the couple’s expensive joy. The bride’s dress, cut from the cover of Vogue magazine, filled the marble floor, matching the broad smile of the groom.
Poof, they’re all gone; the lobby is deathly still, waiting for the assault. The valet out front fills up with expensive cars. The rush of wedding guests fills the galleria. I spin around continuously, looking for trespassers and guiding guests ranging from the wealthiest of Los Angeles to the holiest of Rabbis. God is in the house, and everybody is buzzing with His happiness.
After the quick rush into the drink and hors d’oeuvres room, the bride’s mother walked over to me wearing a beautiful designer dress and complimentary jewelry worth more than my retirement funds under the current president.
Pulling me aside by the arm, she said, “I don’t want any wedding crashers coming in and disturbing the celebration.”
“That’s why I am here, mam,” I reply, standing at attention. “Your daughter looked beautiful; the groom is a lucky man.” She smiles and shakes my hand, patting the outside.
Bending in quietly, I ask her, “what if they offer me a thousand dollars?”
Thinking, she nods, “as long as we can split it 50–50.” We laugh, and I go back to Rambo mode.
Later that evening, I was walking a patrol on the lobby’s second floor, looking for any perpetrators, when I entered a room filled with rabbis and holy followers in fervent prayer associated with the Western Wall in Jerusalem. Stunned, I secretly tried to back out. The head Rabbi opened an eye and caught me.
Throwing up my hands, I pleaded, “I am so sorry; please forgive me for interrupting your prayers.”
The Rabbi smiles, and everybody praying stops and looks at me. With biblical authority, he responds, “No problem, my friend, God waits for our prayers.”
“Well, good. can you throw one up for me?” I ask. The throwaway line is a hit.
Throughout the rest of the evening, every Rabbi who strolled by my post offered me condolences and reassurances of divine prayers in a brilliant sarcasm Mel Brooks would appreciate.
After the lengthy ceremony, the men surrounded the bride and groom in a large dancing circle, escorting the newlywed couple to the large banquet room. The wedding rocked on till the early morning, hours after I had been sleeping and dreaming about an essential conversation with Jerry Seinfeld.
The next day I saw the couple with a dozen bell carts filled with wedding paraphernalia. Noticing my wedding ring, the groom asked me, “how long have you been married?”
“Thirty-five years,” I proudly replied. The bride and groom looked impressed.
“What’s the secret,” he asked. Pointing to his wife, I said, “do everything she says.” She nodded, and we all laughed.
That evening I came home and told Cynthia the day’s story, ending with my marriage advice. She said it was fantastic advice and then asked when I would start practicing what I was preaching.

Internship ePortfolio - Entry 4
Throughout my internship there were inevitably some challenges that had to be overcome. Travel was one of the most significant challenges that I faced throughout the entirety of my internship. With SEN located in Southbank I would use trains to get to and from the city – about a 45 minute trip each way. The reliability of trains was not much of an issue, but I would be lying if I said I enjoyed standing shoulder to shoulder with strangers on a 40 minute train trip both to and from my internship. There was not really a solution to overcome this challenge, and I instead decided to change my perspective and attitude.
The duration of my hours were not an issue for me, but in the middle of my internship I was asked to work on the Women’s Footy show, which included 8 hours of work on a Saturday and 4 hours of work on Sunday (8am start). Working on a weekend is not always ideal, and it often meant I missed out on social opportunities with friends – but I recognised that sometimes sacrifices have to be made to achieve professional success. Building healthy working/professional habits was something I wanted to achieve during my internship and by regularly making myself available to help the Rainmaker team on a weekend I feel as though I am on my way to completing that. According to Wood and Neal (2009, as cited in Fiorella, 2020) the way habits are formed is repetition, stating “with continued repetition, the mental association between the context and the response strengthens, gradually shifting the behaviour from being consciously guided by goals and intentions to being directly cued by the environment” (p. 605). Previously I would always find reasons to reject offers or opportunities, but simply saying “yes” more often than “no” will ultimately create more opportunities for me. I found an interesting video online that explains biological processes behind habits and how to remove bad habits as well as create new ones and I wish to utilise this advice in my own life moving forward.

(TEDx Talks, 2018)
A lack of technical skill/knowledge or technical difficulties were also challenges present throughout my internship. There were some occasions where programs would crash and I would lose some of my progress or I would make mistakes simply because I was not familiar enough with the equipment I was using. This was incredibly frustrating at times but with the support of my colleagues I was able to take measures to overcome these challenges and make my work easier.
At times I suffered from a lack of confidence, particularly when it came to using equipment I was not too familiar with during production. I place a lot of pressure on myself to do my job correctly as I did not want to let the team down with mistakes that would impact the final product or show. To overcome this I had to lean of my co-workers for support and learn to trust my abilities. This became less of a problem as my internship went on as I started to believe in my abilities after successfully completing tasks.

So because I was sick last weekend & I had to call out from work both last Saturday AND Sunday.... I ended up picking up an extra shift at work (on Friday) to make up at least one of the days. No big deal right? Well, my last day off was Monday and now I’m in the middle of working 9 days straight until Thanksgiving Day (which I have off) at a grocery store, in the deli.... The week of Thanksgiving. I close all nights except for Tuesday, when I work until 8pm.
I’m starting to regret this. Lol. B/c as you can guess, Thanksgiving is one of our busiest weeks with platters for catering, etc AND we do turkey dinners as well, etc. And everyone is coming in to get sliced meats and cheese for family in town, their holiday meals, etc so my section I normally work is busy as hell.
PLUS, I don’t have time to do laundry at a normal time so I was up till 3am last night/this morning doing laundry so my clothes are clean and I also have to find time to bake my pies I’m bringing for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday too b/c we’re leaving that morning for my sisters house in Alabama which is like a 3 hour drive. So I gotta make them either Tuesday after work or before work on Wednesday.
Kill me.

Pale is always working, always stressed out. How about his s/o giving him a nice massage? it could turn into nsfw idk! I just adore how you portrait him 💞😘
Hey Angel
Pairing: Pale/Reader
Word Count: 1361
A/N: Thank you so much! I’m very proud of my Pale! I’m gonna be keeping this one SFW, just because I’ve had a negative personal experience with massages turning into something else, but I do think that with Pale, he’d be very excited with your hands all over him, so just imagine that for the ending if you want lol ;)
Tumblr media
There’s a little candle burning, vanilla scented, a bourbon on the rocks waiting for Pale alongside it.
And alongside that, you were also waiting for Pale. He’d left at half past 4 this morning for work, no rest even on a Saturday. It was 9 p.m. now, a seventeen hour work day. Typical for Pale to work this hard, typical for his work to call him in, typical for this man to parallel his city; never sleeping.
You wore a robe he’d bought you a while back, lace mostly, butter-soft on your skin. Under that, plain underwear, allowing the lace to be the statement. You were a little dressed up for him, though you wouldn’t admit the effort, knew he’d feel guilty with how long he’d been away.
When he was the only guy in the world who could manage all this shit, keep all the plates spinning, you could understand why his work called him in, even on the weekend. Probably some event, a Greek wedding or a mob dinner. Something that had to be perfect. With his standards, of course it would be.
You were so busy animating little vignettes of the events he might be catering that you didn’t hear him slamming the car door or stomping down the passage. He was a big man, he made a lotta noise. So when the door opened, you jumped a little, shifted toward the bedroom where there was a pistol in Pale’s nightstand.
Your eyes softened when he rounded the corner to the living room.
“Sorry dollface, did I scare ya?”
You nodded sheepishly. “Yeah, I didn’t hear you.”
He took off his blazer and draped it over the piano before making his way to you.
“How was your day? Sorry I left so early,” He kissed your cheek tenderly.
“It was nice, painted my nails, watched some TV.”
He glanced at the bourbon and raised an eyebrow. “That for me?”
You nodded, pulled your bottom lip into your mouth with a small smile.
“So what are the Carringtons up to this time, huh?” He settled beside you on the couch, his hand instinctively resting on your thigh.
“It wasn’t only Dynasty, I watched some Jeopardy too,” You protested with a laugh. “But the Carringtons are fine. Still got enough money to buy their way out of all their problems.”
He smiled over the rim of his glass, something like love in his eyes. How else would he know what you were up to, keep track of what you were invested in?
“So I was thinking, if you’d like, I could give you a bit of a massage to help you unwind a little?”
Pale hummed and set his glass down. He wrapped you in a hug, albeit a slightly awkward one with you both being on the couch. “You’re really an angel, huh? That why you got the candle and the robe and all that set up?”
“Not set up,” You smiled. “Just an extra few seconds.”
He nodded into your shoulder. “Angel.”
You laughed and lightly pushed him off. “C’mon Pale, let’s get that shirt off.”
“Alright, alright. You got some music for me to strip to at least? Yeesh.”
Laughing heartily now, you leaned your forehead into his chest. “Man, I missed you, actually.”
“Actually? I did too.” He kissed the top of your head. “One day I’ll have more than enough money to pay the bills and we can just cruise through life. Won’t leave you alone for a second.”
You leaned back, giving him some space to undress. He seemed to get the message and undid the first few buttons of his shirt, tugging it over his head and tossing it to the floor. He could iron tomorrow, he thought with relief, tomorrow’s a Sunday.
“How do you want me?”
“However’s comfortable.” You warmed the oil between your hands. “Make sure you can breathe.”
Pale huffed a laugh. “Breathe? Around you? Haven’t breathed in years, don’t need to.”
You were a little puzzled by that one, but you didn’t think too hard about it. He’d only slept for a few minutes, it was fair enough if his metaphors weren’t a hundred percent coherent. Maybe it was, maybe it made sense in some way of Pale’s that you couldn’t quite understand. Probably just trying to say he loved you.
You started on his lower back and worked your way up either side of his spine, rubbing circles into his skin with your thumbs, kissing along his vertebrae where you hadn’t oiled yet. His tailbone was tense, you figured that was from sitting in the driver’s seat for a couple hours today.
He moaned freely, mumbling when you hit a tender spot and leaning away from your touch slightly. You took your time working out the knots and kissing over his freckles, but after what felt like quite a while, your hands started to get a little sore, so you rubbed a few final spirals over his neck and then moved to kneel on the floor, face in line with his, propped up on a couch cushion.
“You’re droolin’ a little, Pale. That good?”
You smiled and wiped the corner of his mouth with your thumb, you’d have to wash the oil off your hands anyway.
A tear spilled from the inner corner of his left eye and ran over the bridge of his handsome nose. “What’d I do to deserve this, huh?”
He smiled and closed his eyes, happily drawing a deep breath. Tenderly, you pressed a kiss to his cheek.
“I know I don’t say it that often, but I love you,” He blinked his eyes open. “More than anything. It hurts when I have to go without you for so long.”
You felt something brushing your hand, then glanced and saw his fingers tracing over your knuckles. When you looked back at him, he was smiling at you.
“C’mon, it ain’t that bad,” You smiled back, ran your finger over his face, connecting the freckles.
He hummed negatively. “It is. Boss said I could have the day off on Monday and Tuesday. Said I looked grumpy today. Damn fucking right I’m grumpy. My girl’s tucked up in bed sleeping and I’m not there to grab her ass or nothing. You gotta wake up alone, make your own breakfast- What did you have for breakfast?”
“Cereal,” You kept tracing your finger over his skin, lining his features.
He groaned. “Fuck, that’s inhumane. On a Saturday? Man, there’s gotta be a special place in heaven for people like us. People who work their asses off and love each other through it.”
“French toast tomorrow? With berries and cream?” Your voice took on a hopeful lilt as you traced Pale’s eyebrow.
“And mascarpone, and I’ll make an omelet or something, hashbrowns, onions... You know why I had to leave so early today? Fucking group catering, three hundred people or something, and you wanna guess what they ordered last minute?”
You thought for a second, knew if you took any longer Pale would explain without giving you a chance. “Seafood or something? Like calamari?”
Pale looked at you incredulously. “How’d you know?”
Surprised yourself, you shrugged. “I was just picturing it, before you came. Thought it might have been a Greek wedding.”
Pale pushed his chin out, raised his eyebrows further. “And how the hell’d you know it was Greek?”
You laughed. “I didn’t, I swear. It was just what I was imagining. I didn’t know seafood was a Greek thing.”
He nodded. “Yeah, it is. There’s this salad thing, pretty simple at first, you know, lettuce, olive oil, lemon juice, but then you gotta add crab, calamari, mussels, scallops... Shit, it’s nearly impossible to find three hundred pounds of seafood in less than twelve hours. Fresh seafood!”
“Any leftovers? Not the seafood, but..?”
“Oh, so much baklava. There’s a tray in the fridge at work, was gonna bring it home but I guess I forgot. We could get it tomorrow sometime. I put my name on it ‘cos I know you like it.”
You kissed his cheek again. “Maybe you’re the angel.”
Pale chuckled. “Not even close.”

Good evening guys, gals, and nonbinary pals! Coming at you with the second announcement of the day! As we all know, things have been heating up around here, causing a shift and re-evaluation of how we’re working things! So, at dinner time, each student received the following memo on their doors!
From the Desk of the Headmaster:  Good evening students. After several faculty and staff meetings and discussions, we have decided it is in the best interests of our Student Body to move forward with moving up exams, previously scheduled for next month. Given the events of Spring Break, as well as the undetermined event last night, we would much rather be safe than sorry. Below, you will find the pairings for exams as they are currently scheduled. Now, because we are moving this up, exams will coincide with next weekend’s Pet Adoption Fair. This previously scheduled event will still be held, so don’t let this scheduling shake-up throw you too off base. We still hope to see each and every one of you out for both events. This means that exams will take place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, May 7, 8, and 9.
-Dylan Wilson and Alec Wilder -KitKat Curtis and Aden Hart -Eddie Kaspbryk and Emmett Robling -Flint Crestwood and Basil Motta -Bijou Belmont and Perry Grant -Brennan Duchannes and Gabriel Anders -Vivianne Abbott and Daria Roden -Mali Demonia and Donovan Evans -Christopher Black and Kai Kohler -Faith McQueen and Amelia Robling -Dakota Godfrey and Felix Zephyr -Luca de Leon and Beckett Dawson -Isabel Ortiz and Sebastian Foster -Lorraine Melwood and Zoe Barclay -Madison Montgomery and Presley Wilcox -Victoria Garcia and Zachary Camden -Macon Montgomery and Samantha Styx -Benjiro Mori and James Moore -Lorraine Melwood and Chrissy Johnson
OOC: Okay, friends, this round is going to work a little differently than last round, we’re trying to find the easiest way to do this. How this will work- between now and exam day (starting Friday) your character(s) will receive a message from the main letting you know when and where your exams will take place. JUST LIKE LAST TIME Guardeds will know where they will be kept, and Guardians will be given three clues in order to help them find and track their Guardian. This time, I will make one exam channel in which everyone will place their HC’s. Exams WILL BE GRADED this time around, so if you do not submit any HC’s, you will receive a “fail” and you will be required to complete additional training times as well as mandatory volunteer work on campus. Once again, anyone failing or not doing well on their exams will be required to pick up additional training hours as well. You will not be required to write anything out on the dash should you choose not to, because we do want to make sure everyone has time to write about and experience the previously planned event. As always, exams will be graded both separately and as a unit. Guardeds will be tested on their ability to control and use their power against a staff member, Guardians will be tested on their ability to track and seek, and each pair will be graded on their ability to communicate, as well as combat techniques. AS ALWAYS anyone with questions please please please do not hesitate to reach out!

She wakes up at 6:30am, slamming her hand down on her phone trying to shut off the alarm. She forces herself to sit up, rubbing her face aggressively.
After a few minutes she gets up and takes a quick shower.
She gets dressed, grooms and eats something.
She looks at her phone for the time it's 7:21am.
She feeds Haley, she grabs all her books, and other class supplies, puts them in her backpack. Still has over an hour until her first class starts.
Looking at her work schedule, she starts her job at the cafè on Thursday from 4pm until 10pm.
Thursdays: 4:00pm-10:00pm
Fridays: 8:00am-5:00pm
Saturdays: 8:00am-5:00pm
Sundays: 9:00am-5:00pm
She goes over her class material, looking through her syllabus, modules and everything else. She checks the time, 7:32am.
"I gotta get going" she says to herself.
"Bye Hale I'll be back later" she says petting her dogs head.
She goes outside to her car, locks the front door, and drives off to the University.
*******************************************************
Meanwhile at the Seed ranch, John is working on his computer, paperwork, lawyer shit, and sending out threatening messages to property owners to take over their properties to expand the Project.
His mind keeps throwing him off his work. Kate keeps coming to mind, he kept thinking about her non stop even when he was asleep.
She kept interfering with his thoughts, he didn't even know her name.
Only that she drives a black 1970 Chevy Monte Carlo, he leans back in his chair, and closes his eyes. He sees her face, how she walks, how her brown eyes reflect off the sun.
He gets up from his chair and looks out a window.
"What's going on?' he asks himself, that feeling in his stomach comes back, he tries to ignore it but it won't go away.
It takes him a moment to realize that he's fallen in love with her.
How can he fall in love with someone he doesn't even know?!.
He doesn't know her name, where she lives, what she does for a living.
Is she a sinner? a nonbeliever?
Should I have her confess and atone so she can be near me!? So she can be underneath me!?. All these thoughts come flying into his mind.
He takes Joseph’s advice, he should go to her.
He goes back onto his computer, and accesses personal information about the residents of Hope County.
He goes onto some illegal public records website.
Types in “Hope County, Montana residents” and a bunch of names pop up.
Scrolling through the names. He figures, she's new, because he’s never seen her before.
He narrows it down to recent residents of Hope County, he finds Kate but it only gives him her first initial, middle initial and last name.
"K.E. Winchester?'' he mutters to himself.
Taps the keys on his keyboard, and shows an image of her house
"That house looks familiar" he tells himself.
Zooming in on the photo to see the cross streets
"Melrose and Kelley?" he asks himself.
A few hours go by. He was able to get her full address.
He wasn't able to get her first name.
All he knows is that it begins with the letter K, her middle name starts with an E, and her last name is Winchester.
************************************************
Kate is sitting in her first class
Introduction to Therapeutic Skills, listening to the professor go over their syllabus and the lecture.
She still has 2 more classes to go to that day.
*A few hours later*
Her class finishes, she walks out the building, and looks at her clock on her phone, she has a whole hour and 15 minutes until her next class begins.
So she goes back home and checks in on Haley.
As she’s walking to her car, her friends Alissa and Sarah call out for her.
“Kate!!!!” they call out. She turns to them.
“Hey!!” she responds.
“What are you doing on Friday?!” Sarah asks.
She looks around, humming incoherently.
“Nothing. Why?!” she replies.
“We’re gonna all hang out Friday night at the Whitetails” Alissa says.
“Sounds fun. Who else is gonna be there?!” Kate asks.
“Me, Alissa, Morgan, Ryan, Dylan, Kevin, Becky and a few others” Sarah answers.
Kate shrugs, and says “Yeah sure, I’ll be there. Just text me where its gonna be, and I’ll be there”
“Awesome, see you later. Bye” Alissa says, and they all go their separate ways.
Kate goes into her car, and drives back to her house.
*10 minutes later*
She pulls into the driveway and goes inside her house.
Leaving her backpack and books in the car.
When she opens the front door Haley jumps at her in excitement.
"Hey girl, I'm gonna be leaving again in 45 minutes. I'll give you more food before I leave" she tells her, petting her head.
Dropping herself on one of the chairs, turning on the TV.
**************************************************
At the Seed Ranch, a desperate John looks up potential names for his mystery crush.
Klaire Winchester?. No records.
Kara Winchester?. Nope.
Kali Winchester?. Nope.
Kimberly Winchester? Nothing.
Kandace Winchester? Nothing.
Kristen Winchester?. Still nothing
Tapping the keys of his keyboard on his computer.
None of those names come up in any records.
He groans, leaning back in his chair.
Groaning somewhat frustrated.
He can't seem to figure out her name.
It's probably something simple, and he can't think of it.
He has her home address. He can probably send flowers, or something to her house.
That’s what he does, take notes fellas.
He puts in an order of roses to be sent to her house that same day, and as a bonus he puts in a card with a short but to the point message.
Time passes by relatively fast.
Kate looks at her phone's clock 11:55am.
"Shit I gotta get going!!" she says, shooting up from her seat.
As she's about to open the door.
Haley lets out a loud bark to get her attention,
"What?" she asks her.
She lets out another loud bark.
"Oh that's right, I have to feed you".
She goes into the kitchen and pours some food into her bowl.
"Okay I'll be home later" she says, petting her head.
She goes into her car and drives back to the school.
Driving the 10 minutes back to school, going to her next lecture which is in the same building as her first class that morning.
*An hour later*
Kate is in her Human Sexuality class sitting at her desk taking notes while the professor goes over the lecture and class work.
Several hours later at 5:45pm, Kate leaves her final class for the day, and walks back to her car. Throwing her stuff in, starts up the car, and drives off.
She decides to go into town and buy some stuff for dinner.
Parking her car in the same spot as before next to that gas station.
She walks to the same grocery store that's near the church.
John, who is at the church, sees her walking in the distance.
His heart literally skips a beat.
He steps outside, taking a drag of his cigarette.
"A student?" he says to himself.
Admiring her beauty as she walks by
"Kaitlyn? Kourtney? Karen? Katherine? Kara? Kathleen? Khlöe?" he whispers to himself.
Trying to guess her name.
"Math? Science? History? Law?" he continues to whisper to himself.
She looks back coincidentally, looking in his direction.
Giving him a little smile.
He smiles back while taking another drag of his cigarette.
She walks into the store, grabs a shopping basket, browsing the aisles, and grabs stuff for dinner.
John stands outside the church waiting, and hoping she walks by like she did the other day. Maybe he can say more than "Nice car" to her.
Kate pays for her stuff and goes outside.
John sees her walk out the store. and prepares to say at least more than 2 words to her.
But unfortunately God wanted him to be patient.
She doesn't walk by the church.
Walking on her side of the street.
"Damn it" John mutters to himself, disappointed he really wanted to get to know her.
Hopefully the flowers he sent made it to her house.
He leaves the church, goes to his car, driving to her house.
Hoping he beats her to her house so he can see her reaction to the flowers.
5 minutes of driving, he makes it to her house.
She hasn't made it home yet, the flowers are sitting on the front porch.
He parks his car across the street while trying to remain hidden.
A few minutes later he sees her car from up the street.
Kate pulls into her driveway, and sees something at her front door when she gets out of her car, she sees that it's a vase with 2 dozen white and red roses.
Surprised, and completely caught off guard by the unexpecting gift.
She picks it up, and sees a card on it.
"You're beautiful ❤" a smile on her face, and she goes inside her house.
A smile grows on his face just by seeing her smile.
******************************************
Later that night, John is doing lawyer stuff and gets an unexpected visit from Joseph.
“John!” he says, walking into the ranch.
He turns around, and sees his older brother.
“Yes, Joseph?” he says.
“That girl?. Did you do what I told you to do?’ he asks, his voice soft.
“I-I sent her flowers” he answers, his going soft.
Joseph nods his head, and says.
“Don’t let her slip from you John. God has plans for the both of you. She will be one of us”.

Yesterday
What time did you wake up? I woke up at 9:30 AM, extremely parched and hungover from the night before. Though I dunno if I should say the night before, since I was in a video call with my college friends from 9 PM to 5 AM, lol. But anyway, we drank a lot and talked a lot and it was SO much fun. I can’t believe it took us 10 months to do this.
Where were you sleeping at? I slept in my own bed, as always.
What was for breakfast? My dad made pancit with pork and vegetables. He also made a bowl of lugaw meant for both my mom (who’s currently on a diet) and for me (since he saw I looked wrecked, and lugaw is a popular hangover food).
What did you wear? I was wearing a black halter top and shorts during the day, but I took a shower in the afternoon and changed into a striped tank top and a new pair of shorts.
Did you go to school? Nope. I did visit UP with Andi last Friday and it felt so uhfjfdlsfsdfh being there. It was such a range of emotions, knowing I haven’t been there since March, I never got a proper senior year experience, seeing all the barriers blocking the streets that lead to the buildings that now double as COVID isolation facilities; and, of course, knowing that this was the place I shared with Gabie for four years and now she isn’t even a part of my life anymore in any way.
Did you go to work? No, it was a Sunday.
What was for lunch? My family always has breakfast really late, so it already doubles as our lunch. I think we were all in the living room to watch a mass livestream during noon.
What was for dinner? My mom made some kind of creamy pasta with toasted bread on the side.
Where else did you go? I stayed home yesterday since I had already gone out last Friday night with Andi and to recharge from my 7-hour call with friends last Saturday. Plus, going out would just tempt me to spend when I have barely anything left from my last paycheck, hahaha.
What did you do there? I just had a Worth It marathon all day. I also finally got up to speed on the independent channel of BuzzFeed people Shane Madej, Ryan Bergara, and Steven Lim called Watcher. I remember subscribing as soon as they launched the channel a year ago but never had time to watch their any of their series. But I finally did, and it turns out I was missing out so bad; their content is pretty great.
Who did you talk to? Well I was up until 5 AM from the night before, and in that call were Blanch, Lui, Jo, JM, Kate, and Laurice. The day after, I talked to my dad, mom, Nina, Andi, and Angela.
Who did you hang out with? Just myself. Me time is super important to me, especially on Sundays.
Who did you text? My phone remained off for most of yesterday.
Who did you call? Didn’t need to call anyone, either.
Anything else about yesterday? By 5 AM only Kate, Laurice, Jo, and I were left in the call since the others got sleepy; we ended up talking about Nacho and thinking back to the time he passed away and sharing our own stories. That was sad, but also therapeutic. Andi also shared photos of them wearing the skirt I gave them for Christmas and I was super happy to see them feel confident in it.
Today
What time did you wake up? I first woke up at around 6:45 AM, but I went back to sleep and woke up again at 7:30. I usually get up to start work at 8, so I spent the next half hour trying to wake myself up and shake off the anxiety I was feeling.
Where'd you wake up at? Again, my bed.
What's for breakfast? Skipped it. It’s my lunch break now and my stomach’s been growling like crazy all morning, so after this survey I might go downstairs and find something to munch on.
School today? No school for me. In general, I think law school is off the table for good. JM told a lot of horror stories covering the toxic culture in law schools all over the country and it’s just...I just don’t think it’s worth it to go through the things he touched on just to get a law degree, especially since I’m not even passionate about being a lawyer. I just thought it could be an option since I like memorizing stuff, lol.
How about work? Yeah, I have work but it’s 12:10 so we’re on lunch break.
What's for lunch? I still have to see.
Dinner? Not sure. My dad usually makes delicious dinner though so I don’t think too hard about this.
Who did you talk to today? I’ve talked to some of my colleagues at work - Ysa, Bea, Denise, Danielle, Pia, and our newest associate Aimee, who starts today and who I already know since we went to college together and took up journalism - and I’ve also talked to Nina, Angela, and Kate.
Who'd you text? Nobody; I don’t really text anymore unless it’s for work. My weekly promo actually expired yesterday so I wouldn’t be able to text unless I redeem that promo again.
Who'd you call? I was in a video call with my work team this morning for our weekly check-in. Then I have three more work-related calls lined up this afternoon.
Anywhere else you're going? I plan to be at home for the rest of my shift and to stay home in the evening so that I have enough time to recharge before tomorrow morning.
What are you doing there? ^ Oop, already touched on that.
What did you wear today? I’m still wearing the same striped tank top + shorts combo from yesterday.
Anything else about today? I hate how anxious I get every Sunday evening/Monday morning before work when things have always ended up being more than okay 10 times out of 10. I don’t know where the nerves come from when I do my tasks correctly and on time, anyway. What matters is I’m settled now at work and I’m just looking forward to finish my shift.
Tomorrow
What time are you waking up? Same time, since I have the same routine every weekday. Sigh, I miss the variety that college life gave me - even things like having my first classes at different hours of the day every weekday already provided a lot of excitement. The 9-6 set-up + WFH can feel so lonely sometimes.
Where will you be waking up? I sleep in my bed like 98% of the time but I also end up passing out on the living room couch sometimes. I can never tell, so this is a question mark for now.
What are you going to eat for breakfast? I will probably skip breakfast as always. If not, I imagine having scrambled eggs, hotdogs, and a couple slices of white bread.
What are you going to wear? I’ll just pick out housewear items from my drawer.
Are you going to school? No.
Are you going to work? You know it.
What are you going to eat for lunch? I don’t plan this far ahead.
What are you going to eat for dinner? No clue but again, my dad will 100% whip up something delicious as he always does for dinner.
Where else are you going? I’m only staying at home since I will need a strong, consistent internet connection to be able to work. This goes for every weekday too.
Who will you talk to? The people I’ll surely talk to are Ysa, Bea, Pia, Danielle, and Aimee since I work with them daily. My parents and sister, too.
Who will you text? I still can’t tell, but probably no one.
Who will you call? I have one Google Meet call scheduled for tomorrow, but we’re 26 in the group and I’m not in the mood to list everyone’s names down.
Who will you hang out with? I’ll only be with myself. My friends are busy with their own stuff on weekdays too, so it’s okay.
Anything else about tomorrow? It’s one day closer to the weekend so it’s something to look forward to.
In conclusion...
What day of the week was yesterday? Yesterday was Sunday.
Today? Monday.
Tomorrow? Tuesday.
What was the date yesterday? January 17th.
Today? 18th.
Tomorrow? It’ll be the 19th.
Which of the three days do you think will be the best? Sunday was obviously the best.
Why? It was the weekend andddd I got to sleep in.
Which one do you talk to more people? Monday is usually the busiest day at work, so I think it would be safe to assume I’ll be talking to more people today compared to yesterday and tomorrow.
Call more people? My Monday schedules will occsionally be flooded with scheduled work-related video calls. I have four for today alone, but I’m already done with three; the last one isn’t until 4 PM.
Text more people? It always differs.

Part 9: The Rescue
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seeing Drake on Saturday did help the next week to go by quicker than the first. It was Thursday – only a few more days until he would return from the hockey camp. Bragnae traded hours with a co-worker to have off on Sunday, so she could meet Drake as soon as he came back.
Thursdays weren’t so bad to work. The shifts usually went by quickly because a lot of college students didn’t have class on Fridays, or they were just eager to get the weekend started despite one more day of classes in the week. Either way, Thursdays were good nights for tips, and Bragnae was happy to take this night knowing Drake would appreciate spending more time with her when he returned.
Even though she still had access to Drake’s truck, she decided to take her own car to work tonight. She wasn’t insured with his vehicle, and didn’t want to risk damaging it in any way while he was gone. Luckily, her car had started up just fine, so Bragnae was able to drive it the few blocks to Mikey’s.
The first two hours of her shift went by fast. She had gotten into a groove of taking orders, filling drinks and boxing up leftovers that helped her turn over her tables more quickly. She was about to take a fifteen minute break when Leo walked through the front door. They made eye contact immediately.
Bragnae hadn’t seen him since the day she picked up Drake’s keys. She hoped he was there as a customer, but when he made a B-line for her, she knew he wanted to talk again.
“Hey, how’s it going?” He asked, standing close enough to be heard over the crowd.
“Good,” she said. “Do you want a table?” She gestured towards the busy room.
Leo shook his head. “No, I was wondering if there was a place we could talk? It’ll only take a few minutes.”
His timing was uncanny. If she hadn’t been about to take a break, she could easily tell him to shove off, but knowing his determination, even if she said it now he’d find out that she was available anyway. She looked into his bright blue eyes, and exhaled a deep breath. “I was just about to take my break. Come on, we can go out back.”
Relief crossed over his face. “Lead the way.”
Bragnae led Leo to the back entrance where the staff would come in and out for their shifts. A co-worker was smoking a cigarette at the small round table where she would have wanted to sit down. Instead she walked over to her car, and sat lightly on the hood to face Leo.
She crossed her arms over her chest. “So, what do you want to talk about?”
“I want to talk about us, Bragnae. About that night at the club – about you.” He kept his gaze trained on her, and spoke with more confidence than the last time she saw him.
“We already talked about this. Why do you need to bring it up again?” She couldn’t deny that the memory still pained her, and talking or thinking about it only made the wound reopen more.
“We talked about it, yes, but we didn’t get to finish. I’ve tried to give you some space, but I just can’t anymore.” He looked at the ground briefly, taking in a breath. “What I did to you was exactly what my ex did to me. I hate myself because I know how it feels to be hurt like that – to not have a say in the matter. I hate that I hurt you, and I’m sorry.”
His words started to fill the holes of pain he left in her heart, but it just wasn’t enough. “You can say you’re sorry all you want, but it won’t change what you did to me.”
“I know, but that’s why I want to make it up to you. I want to fix this.”
“For what purpose? To be friends again? Or are you hoping I’ll be with you instead of Drake?” She admired his persistence, but to what end?
He took a step closer to her with a confident stare. “All of it. Bragnae, I want you back in my life. I want to see you smile at me like you used to. I don’t want to see the pain on your face every time I get near you. I want you to heal. I want us to get over this.”
She wanted to heal from it too especially with Leo being Drake’s roommate and friend. She wanted to be able to see Leo in passing when she hung out with Drake, and not want to harden her heart because of the memories he left her with.
“I know why you’re having a hard time moving on from this. You’re even with Drake now, and yet you still can’t heal. I know why.” His voice grew softer with every word, but the tenacity of his message didn’t falter. “You cared about me then, and you care about me now.”
He was right. Somewhere along their friendship and the intimate moments they shared, she had developed feelings for him than ran deeper than the surface. “So, what? Are you going to use that knowledge to exploit me to get what you want?”
“No, never.” Leo took another step forward. “I will never use you again. I just wanted to see if I was right. I wanted you to see that you still have feelings for me. And just now, you didn’t deny it.”
Bragnae felt her eyes start to water. She looked to the sky to keep any tears from falling. “Leo, I don’t want to talk about this.”
“We can’t move past this unless we do.” He moved closer again, but this time he reached a hand out to gently stroke her cheek. “I know I hurt you very badly, but you never told me how much.”
She shook her head. The wound was already opening back up, and she couldn’t take it anymore. She didn’t want him to have the satisfaction of knowing what he did to her.
“Bragnae, please,” he coaxed gently as he towered over her.
Leo stood so close that she could smell his intoxicating fresh cologne, and the smell immediately jogged her memory of the night at the club. All the feelings she had, both pleasant and lousy, came rushing back to her. Bragnae felt anger surge through her body prompting her to shove Leo back as she stood from the hood of the car.
“You ruined everything! We had a beautiful moment together, and you ruined it. I felt so cheap and used and unworthy. You spent the majority of that day making me feel amazing with your kindness and appreciating looks in my direction. But then, when you started to push me away, I felt useless. My confidence was shot. You made me feel like I did something wrong. I was mind fucked for days while I waited for you to call me. And you never did. You avoided me like I was the plague.”
She was helpless to stop the tears that streamed down her cheeks. “You know, what your ex did to you was awful, but at least you had closure with her. At least she told you openly that she wanted to end the relationship. I did not receive the same curtesy from you. Granted, we weren’t in a relationship, but we were friends, Leo, and you could have at least told me all you wanted was sex and that whatever we had was over.”
Leo closed the gap between them again, gently grabbing both of her arms to keep her attention. “But I didn’t want it to be over, Bragnae. I was just protecting myself, but deep down, I knew I wanted you. I wanted more than the amazing sex we had, but I didn’t have big enough balls to stand up to my fear. I know that was my mistake. I’m just hoping that if I acknowledge all of this and tell you how god damn sorry I am that you’ll forgive me.”
Bragnae angrily wiped the tears off her face. “Drake treats me like every girl should be treated. He’s amazing in every way. Even if I wanted to ends things with him to be with you, how could I be sure that you wouldn’t let your past interfere with your future again? How could I be sure that you wouldn’t just run away or push me out when you thought you might get hurt?”
“I wouldn’t do that, Bragnae. I’ve grown up a lot in the past few weeks. I realized just how much you mean to me, and there’s no way I’d ever intentionally hurt you again. I’m done running from my past. It leads to nothing but emptiness. I know that because being with you makes me feel whole again. And I can’t live without that… not when I know how much better it feels to embrace happiness over being bitter and letting pain run my life.”
“Why don’t I believe you?” She really wanted to, but something told her to keep him at a distance so he could never make her feel this way again.
“Because I misplaced your trust in me, and I regret that more than you know. But I’m trying to get it back, baby, I really am.”
His voice was laced with sincerity, but hearing him call her ‘baby’ just now made her think she could easily be replaced by someone else. Sure, she could’ve been the one that revived his broken heart from the past, but maybe that’s all she was good for. Maybe who he became since then, a man searching endlessly for different women to satisfy his lust, would still remain. The trust was gone – that was for certain – and the idea of him trying to earn it back seemed pointless.
“Leo, I’d love to go back to how things were between us before all of this, but I just don’t think we can.” She felt herself start to tremble, and knew she hated having to say that to him as much as he did having to hear it.
He looked into her eyes for a long moment. The realization that she wouldn’t change her mind dawned on his face. “Bragnae,” he pleaded softly as one last ditch effort to sway her.
"I have to get back to work.”
Leo reluctantly dropped his hands, and stepped aside to let her pass. She gave him one last look, and then headed inside. Before stepping back into the dining area, she dashed into the ladies room to remove the evidence that she was crying. Luckily, her face hadn’t gotten too red, and she was able to touch up her eyes without affecting her make-up.
She was mad at Leo for doing this to her at work, but she knew deep down it needed to be said. All of it. And now, hopefully, they both could move on. Bragnae left the bathroom, and returned to her duties.
A little while later, she headed over to a table of three guys that needed their check. They were a bit rowdy, and had been sitting there drinking beer and eating pizza almost since the start of her shift.
“Here’s the check, guys. Just pay me whenever you’re ready,” she told them, placing the white receipt down on the wooden surface.
“Oh, hey. Wait a minute. I’ve got that now,” one of the guys said. He was the most rowdy out of the three, and hadn’t been shy about trying to flirt with her either. After looking at the bill, the man retrieved cash out of his wallet, and handed it to Bragnae. “Keep the change, gorgeous.”
“Thank you very much. I hope you guys have a great rest of the evening. Come back, and see us again.” She smiled and turned to walk away when she felt a pinch on her backside.
Bragnae immediately spun around to face the arrogant prick that copped a field after handing her what he assumed was a big enough tip to give him the freedom to do that. The man was thick and had an athletic build like a football player. His curly black hair made his face look full, and his crooked, cocky smile did nothing for his looks. She glared at him. “You have some nerve.”
“You sure got her attention, Ralph,” one of his idiot friends commented in between laughs.
“I sure did,” he said, looking up at her triumphantly. “You got a nice ass, honey. Don’t let this pizza be the only thing I’m taking home tonight.”
Furious, she thought back to her training with Leo, and decided she wouldn’t let this asshole get away with it. Since she had lost the moment to catch him off guard when she first turned around, she chose a different approach. A wicked smirk transformed her lips as she leaned in towards him.
Ralph and his friends chuckled as she flirtatiously ran her hand across his meaty shoulder and over to the collar of his t-shirt, gripping the fabric tightly in her fist. Just when he thought she’d bend over to give him a smooch, Bragnae cocked her fist back and slammed it against his eye making him fall hard onto his giggling friend.
“The only thing you’ll be taking home besides your pizza is a black eye. Don’t ever fucking touch me again, asshole." She turned on her heel, hearing a roaring laughter coming from his friends, and Ralph murmuring insults in her direction.
The punch hurt her hand, but Bragnae felt great. For a brief moment, she knew she had Leo to thank for instilling that confidence in her, but it was still a feat she accomplished. She allowed herself a moment of internal celebration before getting back to work.
As she made her rounds, she kept a careful eye on Ralph and his friends, happy to see they left without any further retribution. The rest of her shift went smoothly – something she needed after the talk with Leo and dealing with an entitled, disrespectful asshole.
After leaving through the back door, she got in her car and turned the key to start it. The engine wouldn’t turn. She tried several more times with no luck. She knew it wasn’t the battery because she just replaced it. It had to be something more. The ‘check engine’ light had been on lately, but she hadn’t gotten around to inspecting it yet.
“Damn it. I should have just taking Drake’s truck tonight,” she said aloud to herself.
Not wanting to spend money on an Uber, Bragnae grabbed her purse, and left the car. She’d walk home. It was only a few blocks, and the clear night with a slightly cool breeze was actually comfortable after running around the restaurant all night.
Before she began her trek down the street, she popped her head in the back door to tell the manager she was leaving her car behind and walking home. She’d have to call a tow truck tomorrow.
She crossed the street, and began following the sidewalk that would eventually lead to her apartment. After walking a few minutes, she heard someone call out behind her.
“Hey! Hey you, pizza bitch.”
An eerie feeling shot down her spine. Bragnae looked over her shoulder to see Ralph and his two friends slowly following behind her. She kept walking, but hastened her steps.
“I know you can hear me, pizza bitch. Why don’t you slow down, and let me talk to you?” Ralph shouted.
Bragnae wanted to ignore him, but felt words coming out of her mouth anyway. “Go home! You’re drunk!” She kept up her pace while digging in her purse for her phone. She dialed the police to have it on standby if she needed it.
Looking behind her again, she saw they were closer. She wanted to avoid running as to not show her fear, but they were gaining on her. So, she bolted. Her apartment was only another block away. She glanced over her shoulder seeing Ralph and his friends running too. Even as drunk as they appeared to be, somehow they were catching up to her.
Her heart thumped in her chest, her breathing was heavy. Her eyes darted everywhere for a place to escape. The street lights illuminated her path. Cars passed on the road, but no one seemed to notice that she was being chased. As she came up to the last intersection she’d have to cross to get to her apartment, she halted nervously as she waited for a car to pass in front of her. Grabbing for her phone again, she had her thumb over the call button when it was suddenly knocked out of her hand.
Bragnae turned around just to catch a heavy open hand swat across her mouth. The force knocked her to the ground. In a flurry, she heard a loud roar from the street, and the footsteps of the three men quickly surrounding her. The two friends encircled her as Ralph lowered himself to the ground, grabbing Bragnae’s ponytail in anger.
“You stupid bitch. I’ll teach you never to embarrass me again,” he snarled as he pulled her hair and unsteadily began ripping at her shirt. He reeked of beer and even began spitting as his words left his mouth. She was both disgusted and frightened.
“Get off me!” She screamed with all her might. “Help, please!” Bragnae kicked with a fury, but Ralph laid his heavy weight on top of her once flailing legs.
“What the fuck?” She heard one of his friends say. There was a commotion around them that she couldn’t see because of Ralph’s massive body. That and she was focused on trying to survive.
Ralph uncoordinatedly tried to untuck her shirt from her jeans, but was failing. He became frustrated and literally growled in her face before attempting to stand up. “Come on. I’m taking you back to my place.”
Bragnae knew that was her chance to run, but as soon as Ralph tried to hoist her up, she saw Leo throw him to the pavement away from her. She watched, stunned, as Leo bent to one knee and punched Ralph repeatedly in the face. Her eyes darted to Ralph’s two friends lying on the sidewalk. One looked unconscious while the other slowly crawled on his stomach, groaning with each movement.
Her attention was brought back to Ralph when she saw Leo stand up out of the corner of her eye.
“Pathetic piece of shit!” Leo shouted as he kicked Ralph on the side. “If you ever fucking touch her again, I’ll cut your dick off, and shove it down your goddamn throat. Got it?” Ralph groaned again before passing out.
Bragnae was still lying on the sidewalk, but had propped herself up on her elbows to watch the scene unfold. Leo turned to her suddenly. His chest heaving deep breaths as he crouched down beside her.
“Are you okay, Bragnae?” His eyes, filled with worry, scanned her body frantically. His hand gently cupped the side of her face as his gaze focused on her lips. “Oh, God.”
“Leo,” her voice creaked out as tears pooled in her eyes.
“I’ve got you. You’re safe,” he told her, pulling her to his chest. She clung to him desperately.
After a few seconds, he drew back. “Can you stand up?”
She nodded while he helped her to her feet.
“Let’s get you home.” Leo picked up her purse and threw an arm around her waist as they walked across the street.
The shock of everything still hung in the air around her. Tears were streaming down her face, but she hadn’t allowed herself to fully break down and cry yet. Her mouth and jaw ached, and so did the backside of her body where she collided with the hard concrete.
Fortunately, her apartment wasn’t that much farther than where the scuffle took place. Leo took her keys to unlock the door, and guided her inside.
“Come here,” he told her, taking her hand gently and leading her to the bathroom connected to her bedroom. “Let’s get you cleaned up.”
When he flipped the light on, more tears flooded her eyes as she looked at her reflection in the mirror. Her bottom lip was bleeding, and there was some redness across her cheek and jaw where Ralph had hit her. Her black hair was a mess. Still half in its ponytail, there were tendrils of hair out of place all over her head. The black and orange t-shirt she wore with the pizza parlor’s logo on it was ripped in the front. She whimpered at the sight and pain she felt.
“It’s okay, Bragnae. Come here and sit down.” He helped her to sit on the covered toilet, and then grabbed a wash cloth. He ran it under the cold water, wringing it out before kneeling in front of her. Leo draped the cloth over his hand and cupped her bruised cheek.
Bragnae closed her eyes in relief. The cold cloth felt good against her irritated skin. When she opened her eyes again, there was Leo’s staring back at her. “Thank you. That feels nice.”
He gave her a sympathetic look before softly wiping the blood away from the corner of her mouth. “What happened with those guys anyway? Why were they chasing you?”
She sniffled and took in a deep breath. “They were at the restaurant, and I was their server. When I brought the check, Ralph – the guy that was on top of me, paid the bill and when I turned to leave, he pinched my ass. So, I punched him in the eye.”
“Using those self-defense skills we practiced, eh?” Leo asked while he continued to clean her face.
“Yeah, but Leo, he waited for me to exact his revenge for making him look bad in front of his friends. What good does it do to defend myself one minute when I’m putting myself in more danger later?” The thought of it made a fresh batch of tears swell in her eyes.
Leo put the rag down to give her his full attention. “It’s not always going to be that way, Bragnae. You did the right thing tonight. Just because you pissed off some asshole jock who had something to prove, doesn’t mean they’re all going to try this. But it is better to fight than to just let it happen – no matter the consequences. And besides, that’s not who you are. There’s no way Bragnae Bennett would let anyone get away with that crap. You’re tough and you know it.”
A brief smile appeared on her lips. “Thanks.”
He picked up the cloth again and dabbed at her bottom lip. “So, why were you walking home anyway? I thought you had a car… and Drake’s truck for that matter.”
“I took my car tonight, but it wouldn’t start when I was trying to leave. It’s normally a rule of mine to avoid walking to and from work during night shifts, for this very reason, but I thought I’d be fine. It was only a short walk.” She shook her head at her bad decision. Her eyes drifted over him, from his face to his chest, to his tender hands caring for her injuries. “How did you know I needed help? I mean, you were there at the right time.”
He blew out a breath. “After our conversation, I didn’t leave. I couldn’t. I walked around to a couple of the stores next to Mikey’s, but I just didn’t feel like going home. Something told me to stick around. I was sitting on my bike just watching the street lights change when I saw you walking. Call me a creep if you want, but I just sat there and watched you. I thought it was weird that you were walking home, and I guess my protective instinct kicked in, so I needed to make sure you got home okay. I held back a good distance, so you wouldn’t know I was there, but I followed behind as sort of an escort for you.”
The muscles in Leo’s jaw tensed. “And then I saw those three guys start to follow you. And when they started to run, I knew it wasn’t good. So, I hauled ass on my bike to where you stopped, and took them down one by one. I hated them, Bragnae. I wanted to rip them to shreds. But I knew I needed to do the bare minimum to neutralize them long enough to get to you. I couldn’t let them hurt you.”
A lump of emotion caught in her throat as she listened to him share his side of the story. She shuddered to think what could have happened if Leo wasn’t there to save her tonight. If he hadn’t waited around after their conversation, if he hadn’t decided to make sure she got home safe… she’d be in much worse shape now.
Bragnae placed a quivering hand against his face. Even after denying his persistence, and basically guaranteeing they couldn’t even be friends earlier in the night, Leo stepped in to help her out of a dire situation. He was there for her with nothing waiting for him in return. He didn’t do it to push his own agenda with her. He did it because he cared about her and wanted to protect her. That meant something.
“Thank you for saving me.” Without a second thought, she pulled him into a warm embrace. When his chest crashed against hers, she felt safe and comfortable.
His long arms tightened around her back. “You don’t need to thank me for that. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.”
She squeezed her eyes shut, allowing the built up tears to finally fall. Clutching his back, at last, she allowed herself to give into the trauma of the night. Leo held her steady, rubbing a soothing hand across her back as she cried.
After a few moments, he gently drew back from her. “Why don’t you take a moment to yourself, and get into some comfy clothes? I’m going to go move my bike out of the street, and when I get back, I’ll grab you some ice for that lip.” He reached a hand up to pull the rest of her hair out of the disheveled ponytail it was still in. His gentle fingers glided through her hair allowing it to frame her face.
She nodded. “Okay, thank you.”
Leo patted her knee before standing up. When he left the bathroom, Bragnae turned to the mirror again. She looked a fright. Her make-up had run, her lip was busted open – although not enough that stitches were required, and her face was starting to swell.
After she removed the rest of her make-up, she washed her face, and ran a brush through her hair. Then, she changed into flannel pajama pants and a fresh t-shirt. It was near her bed time anyway, so she completed the rest of her nightly routine before going to sit on the edge of her bed.
The night had been horrendous. When she thought the only thing that would have disturbed her was the hard conversation with Leo earlier, three guys tried to assault her. And to her surprise, Leo – of all people, was there to defend her. As she waited for the sound of her front door to open again, she found herself wanting to see Leo walk through it. What an unexpected turn of events.
A minute or so later, Leo came back into the apartment, and she felt a sense of peace again. His presence meant she was safe and cared for. It was an amazing feeling. Bragnae heard him walk into the kitchen and take ice cubes out of the freezer. She smiled at the thought of him tending to her this way. Before tonight, there was no way she could have ever imagined him doing that.
Leo stepped into her bedroom with a bundle of ice wrapped in a hand towel. He sat down on the bed next to her, and lightly applied the ice to her mouth. “Here, hold this on your lip for a while. It will help with the swelling.” She took the bundle from him as he fished an object out of his pocket. “I found your phone on the sidewalk too. Thought you’d like to have it back.”
Amidst the commotion, she had forgotten that it was knocked out of her hand. She took it from him noticing the screen was still intact. “Thanks. And look at that – not a scratch on it.”
Leo lightly chuckled. “That’s one good thing to come out of this at least.” He looked at her for a moment before sighing. “I should probably get going. I’m sure you want to get some sleep.”
Just as he was about to stand up, Bragnae put a hand on his leg. “Will you stay with me tonight? I’m still a little shaken up about everything, and I’d feel better if you did.”
His eyes bore into hers as he contemplated his options. “Yeah, of course. I can go sleep on the couch.” He stood from the bed. “I’m sure I’ll scare the shit out of Madeleine when she comes home. With my luck, she’ll plop down on me thinking I’m the couch.”
“No, Leo,” she said as he started to walk out of the room. When he turned to face her, she used her head to point beside her. “I meant in the bed with me.”
“Oh,” he replied, looking from her to the bed. He swallowed before took a step towards her. “Okay. If that’s what you want.”
She nodded, and scooted back towards the pillows, climbing into the sheets.
He watched her for another moment. “Just let me clean myself up a bit.” He held up his bloodied fists from the repeated punches he threw tonight. “I’ll be right back.”
Bragnae relaxed her sore body on the comfortable mattress, keeping the ice stationed on her lip. The coldness felt good. Already the night was looking up.
A couple minutes later, Leo walked back into the bedroom. He stepped out of his shoes, and put his wallet, keys and phone on the bedside table before climbing into the sheets next to her. He kept his t-shirt and jeans on presumably to not encourage other actions to occur. Or maybe he was nervous. Bragnae would never mistake Leo for being nervous, especially around a woman, but it was possible. As he settled in, his body was still rigid.
He was most likely waiting on a cue from her since this was something he hadn’t expected her to ask of him. In that moment, Bragnae acted on her instinct. After the drama filled night, she scooted over to Leo and curled up by his side to feel his warmth. Immediately, she felt at ease.
Situating herself to a comfortable position, she rested an arm on his chest to help keep the ice on her lip. “As I fall asleep, I might drop this ice, and it might startle you with its coldness.”
Leo laughed. “That’s alright. I can handle it. Just rest.”
“You too.” She looked up at him so he would know she meant it. She waited for him to take a deep breath, and then felt his body sink more into the mattress. “Goodnight, Leo.”
“Goodnight, Bragnae.”

Babylon: Neon Lights | C.H. Chapter Six: Midnight
Tumblr media
It had been a love-hate relationship between them the entire time they’ve known one another. Nobody could explain, or pinpoint, the anger and hostility between Calum and Cherry every time they were together. At this point, their friends get concerned when there isn’t a passive-aggressive comment made or some type of glare exchanged. They met through mutual friends, who tried to set them up, saying they’re perfect for each other, leaving everyone astonished that something so perfect went so wrong.

August 16th 9:00 AM Saturday morning. It should be illegal to be up this early on the weekend. This was supposed to be my weekend but I promised a coworker I could cover her shift this week, something that I was regretting now. The only thing that was getting me through today was what I’d be getting paid in overtime.  Most of the morning sorting clothes from the fitting rooms, hiding away in the men’s fitting rooms. Since it was the weekend and neither the manager or assistant manager were in today, I kept my phone in my back pocket sneaking it out each time I took a small break from folding all the clothes that piled up over the week. It was almost 5:00 PM, with each passing minute I was feeling more and more relieved that I would get to go home.
The slow day had been exhausting. I questioned why we were even open on Sundays since there are very few people who come in. I was almost asleep at my perch in the male dressing rooms as a voice tore through my quiet corner, jolting me awake. “Can I get a room?”  I sat up straight quickly, thinking the person was an actual customer, but I was met with a coffee being handed to me and a smiling Calum.  “Hey,” I said, taking the coffee from him, “How’d you know I was working?”  “Violet told me, she also told me your coffee order because I figured you’d like a little pick me up,” Calum said  “What did you put a shot of whiskey or dissolve some cocaine in it?” I laughed, “It's about the only thing that can get me through the next hour,”  “That bad, huh?”  I nodded, “It’s been so dead, I just want to go home so I can take the best nap of my life,”  Calum frowned slightly, “I actually came to ask you if you wanted to do something tonight but it looks like you need some rest,”  “What did you have in mind?” I asked  Calum shrugged, “It's not important,”  “You sure? Cause I wasn’t joking about the coke, I'll do a line and be good for tonight,” I smirked making him laugh  “Nah, you should take that nap.”  “C’mon, now that you say that I want to do something,” I pouted
“Alright,” He finally cracked, “The boys were coming over with their girls tonight for drinks and to just hang, so I’m not massively third wheeling I was hoping you’d come over,” Calum asked nervously  I nodded, “I'll be over after work. Do you have a dress code or anything?”  Calum looked me up and down, from head to toe, for a split second as his eyes scanned my body I felt self conscious. “I think what you have on it fine,” as soon as Calum nodded at my outfit I felt relieved, it was something I wouldn't normally wear outside of the house, my shirt was rather low cut with a strappy bra that was definitely visible from the top of my shirt and my shorts were shorter than usual with my normal fishnet look to keep me in my comfort zone slightly.  “Although I think it would be better with this,” He said, taking off his forest green bomber and placing it over my shoulders. His small action sent a shiver down my spine as he took in my new look.  “I guess I’ll see you in an hour then,” I smiled  Calum nodded, “I guess so, but I do expect this one back.” He said taking slipping his hands into his pockets  “Does that mean I can keep the shirt?” “I didn’t count on getting it back,” Calum chuckled
-
Calum placed his hand on my thigh as I sank into his side while we laughed at a joke one of the guys cracked. The entire night so far it's felt like every movement Calum made was only to fluster me. If that was the case he was doing a swell job at it. His hand sliding up my leg, resting just below where it would be deemed no longer appropriate, I tried nudging him off, not wanting to have everyone questioning us about anything, I still haven't recovered from Wednesday's dinner.
“You know it's getting pretty late, if I have anymore I’ll be out,” Michael said, setting his empty glass on the coffee table. Luke and Ashton nodded following suit, their girlfriends had stopped an hour ago.  “Yeah, We’re gonna head out, thanks for having us over, Cal.” Luke said as he and Sierra got up from the love seat  “Anytime man, I’ll see ya later,” Calum said to Luke as he and Sierra made their way out the door.  Within the next 15 minutes Michael and Ashton followed Luke’s lead leaving Calum and I alone in his apartment.
Finally I was able to push Calum's hand off my thigh, “What was that,” I asked.  “What, this?” He asked, bring his hand back  “Yes,” I nodded  Calum shrugged.  “C’mon,” I laughed, “You know what you were doing.”  “Maybe I do,” Calum smirked, “What are you going to do about it?” His voice was taunting and laced with nympholepsy.  “I’m gonna go for a smoke to sober up,” I said, getting up from the couch quickly.
I watched Calum through the glass doors on the balcony. I could almost hear his groan as he threw his head back, resting on the back of the couch. Sleeping with him once, I could handle, but a second time might screw me over for good. Even though there was no bad blood between us anymore, he was still the best fuck I had, and a second hit might get me hooked.
“You smoke a lot,” Calum said, slipping out onto the balcony with me. I nodded, leaning against the railing, looking down onto the bright street below “Its a bad habit, and I can’t quite,” I shrugged  “Stressed?”  I shrugged, “Maybe, donno.”  “You know there's a lot of other ways to destress,” Calum smirked, I looked over my shoulder at him.  “Oh yeah?” I raised an eyebrow at him  “Yeah,” He nodded, “Matter of fact, I think I know one we might both enjoy,”  “You do?” I asked innocently, “Enlighten me,”
Calum moved behind me, pulling my shoulders up to press his chest into my back as he moved my hair to one side, leaving my neck exposed for him to place a wet kiss at the base of my shoulder. I ignored him slightly and continued to smoke, letting him litter my neck with open mouthed kisses. He moved slowly, letting each kiss linger as he began leaving more open mouthed kisses with each one. It wasn’t until he started sucking a purple spot into my neck that I caved, throwing my smoke over the side of the balcony, lacing my hand through his hair as I turned around and placed a hard kiss to his lips.
“You’re such a tease,” I breathed, after pulling away “You love it,” He smirked
As the kisses got harder Calum began stumbling his way backward, back inside his apartment. I took the lead and pushed us into his bedroom.
-
Panting, Calum fell onto his bed, a slight glaze of sweat coating our bodies and making our skin stick together as he laid next to me.  “What do you think, destressed?” Calum asked, looking at me with a cocky smirk  “I could still go for a cigarette,” I said, rolling my eyes playfully

🔮 Weekly Astrological Forecast 🔮
Astrology Forecast for the week of 10/26 — 11/1
These are the major planetary transits and aspects of the week. My interpretations are general run-downs of the energies present. **All times mentioned are in EDT**
💬 Mercury Rx moves into Libra
Tuesday, October 27th
Around 9:30PM on Tuesday night, Mercury in retrograde will backtrack into Libra, shifting the mind from the wateriness of Scorpio into airy Libra, switching the focus off our emotions and onto our intellect. Mercury Rx in Libra focuses on relationships, commitments and partnerships of all kinds. You may find yourself having conversations about the past and relationships from your past during this time. Exes or people from your past may also re-enter your life under this influence.
Mercury at 29’59° will semi-sextile Venus at 29’59° in Virgo, which means both planets will be moving into Libra at the same time, except Mercury will be moving backwards into Libra from Scorpio (because of the retrograde), and Venus will be moving forward into Libra from Virgo like normal. This simultaneous motion could create an alignment of the mind and the heart. You will be supported when sharing how you think and feel.
Venus is heading into some very intense aspects in the coming weeks as she moves further into Libra. She will be opposing Chiron, making a quincunx with Uranus and Neptune, and she will square the Jupiter/Saturn/Pluto conjunction, making difficult aspects to all of the outer planets. Mercury will station Direct on November 3rd around 25° Libra, so the Libra-ruled House of our charts will be activated during this time.
⚖️ Venus moves into Libra
At the same time Mercury Rx moves backward from Scorpio into Libra, Venus will also be moving into Libra from Virgo. Venus is in the sign which she rules. Venus in Libra values relationships, partnerships, marriage, commitment and collaboration with other people. It is a very harmonious sign for Venus, but she will be heading into some very intense aspects in the coming weeks which may cause us to focus more on the areas of our lives where things are not so peaceful, or where our relationships are not quite so harmonious. Libra doesn’t like to stir the pot or rock the boat, but the boat will be shook regardless, so this might be an uncomfortable influence. We need to focus on grounding ourselves and finding our center in the coming weeks as we deal with these difficult Venus aspects. We must stay committed to the truth and focus on the reality of the matter instead of getting wrapped up into the superficial surface projections of peace. Work on cultivating balance in your life and within yourself.
⛑ Moon square Saturn/Pluto and opposite Mercury
Friday, October 30th
There aren’t any major aspects today, but I wanted to mention how the Moon in Aries will be opposite Mercury and squaring the Jupiter/Saturn/Pluto conjunction, (technically square Jupiter on Thursday) because this Moon square is triggering the Mercury square with Saturn we will have on November 1st. So pay attention to what’s being brought up in your conversations and in the media! New information will surface during this time.
Uranus will also be perigee around 1:30PM, with the Sun/Uranus opposition occurring tomorrow on Halloween, just over an hour after the Full Moon in Taurus conjuncts Uranus. Uranus energy will be very dominant this weekend, so expect the unexpected and prepare for things to get a little chaotic and shocking. Try to embrace the changes that occur and open up to the Revolution of Uranus to make the most of these transits.
🌕 Full Moon in Taurus
Saturday, October 31st
The Full Moon at 8’38° Taurus will be exact around 10:30AM, marking the midpoint of the current lunar cycle which began with the New Moon in Libra square Pluto on October 16th. This has been a very deep lunar cycle. A lot of darkness and shadows have been brought to light. This Full Moon will be conjunct Uranus, making the revolutionary rebel planet very strong. Uranus rules unexpected, shocking and sudden events, so anticipate that things might not go to plan. Changes may occur in your love life and finances as well, whether these changes are positive or negative is difficult to say because when you’re dealing with Uranus, you never know what you’re going to get. It’s like flipping a coin.
⚠️ Sun opposite Uranus
Saturday, October 31st
Around noon, the Sun in Scorpio will oppose Uranus in Taurus, creating tension between the conscious-self/ego and the unpredictable rebel planet of awakening. Mercury also opposes Uranus this month, so expect lots of upheaval, changes, and perhaps even chaos in our relationships, material attachments, and what we value/hold on to. If we are holding onto things that no longer serve us, this is a time where we could be asked to cut our losses. The more baggage you try to hold on to, the more chaotic your month might be with this Uranus influence at play.
💢 Mercury Rx square Saturn
Sunday, November 1st
Mercury Rx in Libra will square Saturn in Capricorn around 2PM. This creates tension between our mind, influenced by Libra and striving for harmony, and Saturn, the Lord of Karma who wants us to get real and deal with the reality of the situations in our lives. This is the 2nd out of 3 Mercury/Saturn squares, the 3rd one occurring on November 6th due to Mercury’s station direct on November 3rd. Essentially, this means we have a very long and intense Mercury-Saturn square from today, November 1st until after November 6th.
Mercury-Saturn can be great for having serious and grounded communications with others, but it can also tend to bring on depression, pessimism and negative thinking patterns. You may be focusing on everything that is wrong and ignoring all the things that are right, or the other extreme where you’re only focusing on the positive and ignoring the shadows which need to be dealt with. Mercury in Libra doesn’t like to rock the boat, and will sweep things under the rug for the sake of peace and harmony. You cannot keep sweeping these shadows away forever, and these shadows might expose themselves in your life now especially if you’ve been trying to hide them or ignore them. Pay attention to what is occurring in the media as well. We will be seeing power struggles, dogma, and rigidity of the mind. Also pay attention to what you say/hear/think right now. Words are very powerful now, and while they may be heavy, they will also be very revealing of reality. People will be inclined to speak their truth.
🏳️ Venus opposite Chiron Rx
Sunday, November 1st
Near 3PM, Venus in Libra will be opposing Chiron Rx in Aries, creating tension between the planet of love and beauty and the wounded healer planetoid. This combination of energies can bring up old wounds around relationships, and in regards to your self-worth and self-love. Venus in Libra can be overly focused on others, what they’re doing and how they value us. The healing happens when Venus can learn to stop looking outside and instead look within. With Libra/Aries polarity, we want to find balance between our Yin and Yang, our masculine and feminine. If we are sweeping our anger, sadness and other negative emotions under the carpet, this is the kind of aspect that will bring those emotions back up. On the other hand, if you have been overly aggressive and self-focused, the healing here will come from focusing on others before the self. Venus will be making many difficult aspects in the coming weeks which will rock the boat of our relationships and in the Libra ruled House in your natal chart.
