I've wanted to make a webcomic for like a dozen years. Inspired by the stuff on smackjeeves. (Yeah that relic) Like, hey, I'm an amateur artist but I have no story idea and I have geometry proofs to write. But I have an idea now, maybe not the most action packed and unique idea, but it's different and slow paced.
I want to make a webcomic with Harvey and Camellia, you know them, you love them, it already has a name, Grow as We Go. It's basically the cutesy, wholesome stuff I've already been posting, but now it will be actually cohesive. Chronological. Canon.
I just want to cement them down in a consumable way, cause I love my characters, I rattle them in my brain daily, but their stories are fit for different mediums. ArtPG, Wiwi and the Golden Acorn, and Meanie Greenies are fit for actual video games pacing and mechanics, Grow As We Go has the pacing of a webtoon, the composition of the long pages will really emphasize the flow of time and recovery, and Find Eli is also a webcomic whose timeline will merge with Grow As We Go. I just have a lot of ideas that's hard to pin down and actually work on because of the ADHD--and it stinks. A dozen years! I coulda started making comics in high school, but noooooo, I had to do homework and play Super Smash Brothers Brawl.
I'd love to hear any thoughts you guys have, does a slow paced comic sound interesting to you? Just a cozy, wholesome webcomic to follow whenever you like. Like not even weekly updates, I want the time to really feel like it's passing in real life alongside the comic. Thank you~
Back in November, after I went back to work, I wanted to figure out RPGmaker all by myself. I wanted to help my darling friend, Que, work on Wiwi and The Golden Acorn, I would do all the dialogue and it would all change based on what events have occurred. So, we had an idea for a quick game to help us get down the basics before we work on any big projects.
It's called How Can I Be the Legendary Swordsman When I Have Carpal Tunnel?
It's also called I hyperfixated on this for a day until I made my hands hurt. Which is ironic. But the story really is about me getting isekai'd into a fantasy world after working myself to death (the foreshadowing is too great), but my problems still came along with me. But there are fantasy versions of my friends there to guide me along the way to recovery and success.
So I messed with the dialogue, scenes, events, and intro to make it feel very game-y. I made the sprites of the legendary hero, Que did the friends, we only used the assets of RPGmaker cause we are just testing. Of course it has to have my humor. The legendary hero is called Morshu Junior and his colors were ripped directly from the Lamp Oil guy, Morshu.
The gameplay is the legendary swordsman does all the damage, but he also hurts himself, so his companions are actually all healers and you can use their turns to heal the swordsman. They can do damage, but the swordsman will keep losing health, whether they're attacking or defending, the swordsman will keep losing health. Which is an awesome idea, but we didn't figure out how to incorporate that yet. Maybe one day but not anytime soon.
I hope you like my idea, it's silly and we'll use it as our testing grounds and also just goofing around. I would love to hear your feedback. I love you guys.
So what's the deal with Sunflower Guy and Lewling (each respectively). Backstory and quirks and what not. Their opinion on fruits on pizza and if they find great plains interesting or if they think they're boring (google prairie madness)
Thank you for sending an ask!! Surprised you remember sunflower guy, he showed up like twice haha
Sunflower Guy was supposed to be our roommate in a gag sitcom series I was thinking about where my friends deal with my shenanigans at finding a new job or just our chaotic antics. He's the guy that cooked and cleaned and kept us in check because we all wouldn't be able to do it ourselves. He's just a sunflower. His dad is the sun and he watches us through the window. He's like the Cammy to our Harvey. A flower amidst the chaos. He also wears an apron and is basically a malewife to a bunch of idiots.
Lewling specifically is a Greenie that keeps Wiwi and Hoardling company during the Golden Acorn hunt. He wears a little blue bandana instead of the Greenie's iconic scarf. He speaks fluent English and is a sneaky lil fella. He can translate for the Greenies to Wiwi and Hoardling and the other way around. Humans don't understand him though, but the story ain't about humans. It's about little creatures.
They both enjoy fruits on their pizza. Put a tangerine on there who gives a doink. Sunflower Guy dislikes the Great Plains because there is nothing to block his dad from watching over him. Lewling doesn't like it either, because it's way too big to cross, for he is small...
