"He likes to switch things up depending on mood." You shrug easily. "Like a lot of us, I think."

"I think I-" Seungmin clears his throat, rubbing at the back of his neck. "-tend to top more with the omegas? But even then, I'll let Hyunjinnie top me on a good day."

"You mean when I've been good, right, Minnie?" Hyunjin purrs with a teasing smile, arching a brow at the long suffering beta.

"Yes. But those are few and far between, hyung. Because you never know when to behave."

Jisung cackles and Hyunjin puts on a show of pouting.

Seungmin rolls his eyes and goes on, looking more comfortable the longer he talks.

"I think I've topped most of the pack members-like I said, it's all preference and mood-but-" He glances around the room at your pack, keen eyes sharp, hesitating over Chan and Minho. "-I've yet to top Minho or Chan-hyung."

"Not because he's not capable." Chan is quick to rise to his defense, and Seungmin offers him half a grin, dark eyes crinkling. "He's entirely capable. He just prefers-"

"-to be bossed around." Minho finishes wryly, offering the beta sickly sweet smile, his chin pillowed in his hand. "Right, Minnie?"

Once again, Seungmin rolls his eyes, but the blush on his cheeks belies his cool detachment.

"That's not it, hyung. With Chan-hyung, I've never felt the need to be in charge, because my wolf likes giving over control to hyung's alpha, and it feels good, so why change it? And with you-" He levels Minho with a sharp gaze, and the alpha makes a kissy face at him, making him mock gag before continuing. "-it's just nice to turn my brain off for awhile. You have a way of helping me do that. And I like it."

Minho looks slightly caught off guard for the briefest of moments, and then his blank expression is slipping back into place as he scoffs and looks away from Seungmin, his cheekbones dusting a pretty pink.

"Yeah, yeah. Enough of that."

"My turn." Jisung bounces up into a sitting position beside Hyunjin, jostling the omega who reaches out to swat the excited beta, though he easily dodges the clumsy attack.

"Everybody knows you're a bottom." Hyunjin rolls his eyes, voice teasing, lilting, and Jisung's jaw drops in dramatic shock as he levels the omega with a wide eyed, accusing stare.

"You take that back right now."

"No."

"I'll kill you."

"Fine. But you'll still be a bottom."

"Hyung!"

Chan sighs, and when he speaks, his voice has dropped a little into alpha timber territory.

"Hyunjin, stop teasing Jisung. Jisung, stop threatening Hyunjin. Answer the question."

"Yes, hyung." Jisung answers dutifully, but sticks his tongue out at Hyunjin one last time all the same, and then sniffs, turning to address the group once more.

Kevin Moon crossed his arms over his chest, making his bulked up arms from hours at the gym become more accentuated. He pinned you down with a stare, his tongue poking the inside of his cheek. "No, Yn—babe, you've literally been working your ass off for these people who drop their shifts at the last fucking minute! I'm done letting you be walked over."

He was right, you definitely knew that. But you were getting paid, and though exhaustion wore at your bones, you didn't have the heart (the guts) to say no. "I don't want to fight with you on this," you sighed, pinching the space between your eyes.

His expression softened and he let his arms down to his sides, taking a couple steps toward you. "Then don't," he murmured. "You're so tired, Yn. Tell them I had an emergency or something and that they'll have to find another substitute for once."

"Wouldn't that be weird for me to say yes and then change my mind?" You pressed your lips together into a slight frown, letting your brain do all of the overthinking. "It's too late now; the shift is starting in a few minutes, and I'm going to be late."

You had begun to turn toward the door of the apartment, but sucked in a sharp inhale as Kevin stepped in front of you and hoisted you over his shoulder. "Kevin!" You yelped, grasping onto his broad shoulders for dear life as he kept you anchored to his body with one hand flat on the small of your back and the other wrapped around your calves.

"I told you—" he said with a smug, little grin, "—I'm done letting you be walked all over." He carried you all the way into your shared bedroom before unceremoniously dumping you onto the bed.

You huffed indignantly, rising onto your knees so you could be eye to eye with Kevin who stood right before you. His arms were crossed again, but that self-satisfied, impish grin was still on his face, and you could see that stupid tongue of his on the inside of his cheek attempting (and failing) to suppress said grin.

"You!" You exclaimed, hardly being able to hide a smile of your own. "What the hell was that?"

"You know when I said there are benefits to me working out more?" He replied with an indulgent, thoughtful expression. "Yeah, that's one."

You felt your neck and cheeks heat up. You were no stranger to your boyfriend's sudden obsession with toning his body—and you were definitely not one to argue against it. Except for maybe in this case. "Kevin, you can't just do that. I have to go to work."

The smile slipped from his face, and was replaced with a sigh. He reached out to grab your hips, the action not meant to do anything except ground himself. "Yn," he said firmly, but not unkindly, "no you don't. It is not your responsibility to make up for someone else's losses all the time. You've already worked so hard lately, honey."

One of his hands came up to cup the side of your face, his thumb grazing over your cheek. "Aren't you tired?"

The nod slipped before you could actively stop yourself.

"Okay," he murmured while returning the nod. "Now, do you want me to text your coworker, or do you want to?"

"Could… you do it, please?"

Kevin broke into a boyish sort of smile. "Of course. Where's your phone? I'll take care of it."

You tried not to let your mind wander off toward possible repercussions of this, but you reminded yourself more so that you needed this. You needed to establish boundaries with your coworkers, and if Kevin had to help you do it, then so be it. You handed him your phone from where it was stashed in the inside pocket of your jacket. While Kevin texted away, eyebrows furrowed, he sat down on the bed next to you so you could read over his shoulder.

When he was finished, he closed your phone and placed it facedown on the nightstand. "There; all done," he declared, turning to you and pressing his lips to your brow. "Nothing to worry about."

You curled up into his side, mouth stuffed into the muscle of his shoulder. His arm wrapped around your body to pull you against him. "Thank you for that."

"Of course," he said, rubbing the side of your arm reassuringly. "We're in this together, y'know?"
