The only cure for the after-effects of a breakup is time. However, just one certain word can be a big help in the treatment.

I recently watched Yumi's Cells Season 2 and as someone who had read the webtoon before watching the drama, my question is why the hell did they give Soonrok scenes to Babi?? The almost-falling-off-the-stairs scene, the first sleepover at Soonrok's house, THE DOOR PASSWORD? I get that maybe they never thought about adapting more of Yumi's story, but they could've come up with other scenes for Yumi and Babi instead. I don't know, it just bothered me for some reason.

I'm still waiting for the subs I really liked this episode. She has been so dependent on having a relationship and now moving on. It was so relatable reaction how she changed her prime cell and made other priorities because she was so exhausted, kept failing in those relationships and they were usually due to her ex BFs boundary issues? In season 1 she was prioritizing only others not herself, she learnt that lesson at the end and now with this one perhaps she would be happier with herself. It was so emotional what happened to the love cell. Yumi's interaction with her was so touching and Kim Go Eun's acting was amazing. She could transfer all the frustration and exhaustion. Don't care about Babi at all, he isn't the main point here. This show isn't about ships or ending up games. Yumi broke up with the love cell and that is the most touching, dramatic storyline.

The relationship between Yu Babi and Kim Yumi is literally the definition of perfection. But something seems a little off to me. I am anticipating some major hurdles in their way, because their relationship has been smooth sailing for quite some time. It's like the calm before the storm. I also feel that there is something missing in their love. The magic, to be precise. Well, I haven't watched the first season, so I can't say if I would have shipped Yumi with Gu Woong better. The only flaw in Babi that I have noticed is that he is over friendly with all women and this can give rise to insecurities in Yumi, as episode 6 hinted at. I still have a feeling that Yumi is only attracted to Babi's kindness and doesn't really love him. Yumi never saw Babi in a romantic light. In fact, Yumi does admit that if Babi hadn't come to her life like a ray of sunshine just two weeks after her break up with Woong, she would never even have thought of him as a potential partner.
Those who have read the webtoon are probably aware that there will be a third man in Yumi's life who will hold her hand forever. So, if the directors and screenwriter don't deviate too much from the original storyline, this season will end with Yumi breaking up with Babi and there will be a third season.

I am loving yumi's cells so far! i was ready to hate babi coz i read the webtoon lol! but kge/pjy promotions is making me change my mind lol maybe i'll hate babi later but there are speculations about a big change from the webtoon but anyways i still love yumi's cells!!
I also like that she rejected babi at first and i really like how reason cell said that if yumi accepted babi it wouldn't be because she likes him but more of as a rebound. I also like the part where when yumi was going through the breakup and the cell village flooded the cells didn't get swept by but they literally rode through the storm. that really shows yumi's growth! i am excited to see more of yumi's character development!
Hi!
Yeah I mean Babi... honestly if I didn't know the spoiler of who he is I think I would maybe fall for it. As much as I think there'll be big changes I'm leaning towards more about Woong's role, because I still Woong is a very good love interest for Yumi, and I think the show may have recognised that as well, they both just need growth and seperation until they find themselves and return. But with Babi... I know what he's there for, he's there to fill her with ego, and distraction as she finds her self and starts her writing and as much as I think he may be different I still see red flags everywhere with him, he's the nice guy trademark he's doing anything on the surface that is manipulative or 'evil' but he's very good at hiding his flaws which is wondering eye and his fear of commitment. Woong's thing was his pride as his logical thinking that sometimes numbs down his emotional output, but Babi's is commitment and Yumi does want love that is committed and devoted only to her, and yes Babi may change and fall in love with Yumi but the going gets tough he will regress and any distraction once again will make him move mad.
The other thing as well is the other red flags laced with this. Babi is a rebound even though Yumi has convinced her self he's not, her cells are tired and constantly scared that she'll feel sad and alone so they look for the person that matches everything on paper, it's idealistic it's fatal, it's beautiful on the surface but empty in reality and the reason why it's that is because Yumi is forcing her self to love him, it's the fear of her ego being bruised that she starts to jump at the chance of letting him, her cells like him because they have a lot in common but having a lot in common does not make one your soulmate or the one you love, love is very complicated and Yumi wants a love that is both romantic and true vs also balances her out and helps her grow. And Babi will do the last part but the love doesn't seem true, it's a coping mechanism or even a comfortable choice. Love tells Reason that she's not okay, and it may be because of Woong making her heart broken needing to heal but Yumi's guard is not up with Babi at all, because it's been destroyed in fact her guard cell is the one who starts the fanclub so as much as people are saying Babi is not a rebound because her guard is up and she's removing that part and she will later fall for him and love don't get me wrong, it's warning signs everywhere to me this isn't her person, this is just a stage, a stage that will bring so much goodness for her because in a state of ego and confidence her writing will show up, it'll be about her evolving and finding out her true voice, Babi will play a part but I suspect there'll be moment she'll be missing. That's just how I see it, I think he's great I think you can definitely find true love when you least expect it, it doesn't always have to be fireworks and passion but for me there's a barrier with her feelings for Babi which is why 'spoiler' you know in the manga once there's a chance later to be with him she realises it's not there, it was just for that moment in her weakness she wanted him. Love is a very tricky thing and it's not shallow and I feel like although he has things with her in common he's still shallow.
Sorry anon! My thoughts are probably wrong and I wish I didn't see it this way but that's all I can see with him is just red flags everywhere for him because I'm very similar to Yumi and I think I too would be in this position and accept one just for the sake of it because of the underlining fear of patheticness and loneliness. It's nice to have someone like Babi notice you but it makes you not see the red flags when you're in that state.
I'm here for Yumi. I'm here to see her grow and become the writer she's going to be, I'm here to watch her fall in love with herself constantly and her cells grow and change and help her find her purpose. I'm so excited to see her happy and i'm excited to see her arc with Babi.
So yeah. Thanks! Sorry for the analysis that isn't agreeing with Babi, but yeh I may be just so closeminded that they're still following his arc in the webtoon. But we'll see hope you have a great day <3

I know you're just a "normal" person with no professional insight into kdramas, and I know the answer is money, but can you explain why all of a sudden all of the kdramas are extending into two, three, four seasons? One of the appealing parts of a kdrama was the nice, tidy package of the one-and-done season. A perfect story all wrapped up with a tidy 16-episode bow.
CAPTIALISM 💰💰💰
with a dash of western influence a.k.a Netflix :/

What makes this conflict perfect (as in super messed up) for me is the added layer of nostalgia for the fans of He is Psychometric (a favorite of mine because it got me out of my worst kdrama slump). I truly never thought I would see these two on my screen again and even less in a romantic setting. But dramaland has its ways of surprising you.

Yet, she said it lol it’s out in the open now and Babi’s heart has been shaken! Oh, Babi. You bad, bad Babi.
I can say that I'm rooting for Yumi and Babi (even knowing how the original story goes in the webtoon) and I'm not so low-key wishing they change their fate as a couple somehow. Yet, as a fan of both YeEun and Jinyoung's chemistry and their last work together, my feelings are all over the place and I find myself excited for a new loveline, for their hinted future together. I even feel like a traitor to Yumi. (The Director or whoever casted YeEun knew very well what they were doing and I salute them for it lol)
Now, is this wrong? Not yet. I mean, to a certain point, you can't control your feelings sometimes and you cannot choose who you like and when. Even if you are in a relationship, it doesn't mean that you can turn off liking other people like a switch (it sure would be great if stuff like that could happen irl) but you can choose how to act upon it. And fact is, loving and being with someone in a committed relationship is a choice, and is one you take everyday, and some days it is harder than others. And Babi is presented with a situation that shouldn’t be a dilemma, yet it is.
In defense of DaEun I have to say, she’s only taking a chance. It’s now or never. They say all it’s fair in love and war and well, this is it. I don’t think fault about Babi’s feelings should fall upon her shoulders because it’s not like he is a kid and it’s not like he doesn’t have the emotional intelligence and the maturity he is supposed to have as an adult. And as a man in a serious, one-year relationship.
Which takes me to another thing I like about this and is how this perfect image of Babi is crumbling before our eyes. Even that small but chilling glimpse at that part of his subconscious (did you see the clubs and bars?? Looks like Babi had a dark past) was so telling and it showed me why the director and writers haven't show a lot more of Babi's cells. It's on purpose, otherwise that Perfection of his would've been destroyed a lot earlier than it did and how on earth would we have rooted for him in the first place? I don’t know but imo this drama is so clever for that. I still feel cheated, but I respect it hahaha
