what do you do when you find out that one of your favourite fanfiction authors, who has contributed to a ship and a fandom in ways I can’t even comprehend or put into words, that I watched and followed in awe on one single website, has decided to stop posting fanfiction (at least for that ship, dont know if for everything)?

I have not been involved in the frostiron or marvel fandom on anything besides ao3 really and even then I have gravitated to other fandoms in recent years but my god….. STARSdidathing will be missed ……

I read so much fanfic all the time that sometimes when I can’t find a fic I remember reading even after multiple tries and trying different tags I think about if maybe I haven’t just hallucinated reading the fic and it doesn’t really exist

just for the record, the only way I am active in the stranger things fandom is by reading fanfic on ao3. i read steddie fics, I think they’re great.

but also the tags above!!!!! either one-sided byler or dead eddie, it’s upsetting.

there’s just one difference for me: with byler fics that don‘t feature steddie or have eddie stay dead I can understand why. It’s canon and they don’t have the same build as will and mike have. so I can understand it, even when I’m not personally a fan.

steddie fics without byler on the other hand….. how are you gonna ignore 4 season of build up and pining? like it just doesn’t make sense to me. mike wheeler is an idiot sure but he’s also a deeply traumatised kid clearly not dealing with his shit properly.

so I get it if bylers don’t ship steddie but I truly don’t understand how steddies can’t at least see and understand byler
