Star Crossed lovers
Satan x gn! MC
BROOOOO. WHy is Romeo and Juliet actually such a good play??? Like have ya’ll read it before? It’s just... so lovely. In all honesty, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve read it, but like I thought of it and was like what better way to express amazing cheesiness than writing Obey Me! content with our favorite book worm??? So yeadh. Basically MC and Satan are just roleplaying at this point, LOL. Enjoy, my loves, for I adore writing in a terrible formal accent
MC is Gender Neutral *wink*
Prompt for this -  “Heeeeey!! Put the book down and pay attention to meee”
~
The House was quiet. Too quiet.
As Satan sat in his usual seat in the library, with a book in his hand, he found the House abnormally silent. Not even a bit of arguing could be heard, which was a common occurrence with his brothers. He couldn’t even make out the sound of Beel in the kitchen, who he knew must be in there, because when is he not? He strained his ears to find something he could pick up, but not a single word, or chew, or even creak could be heard. He wondered to himself if perhaps he was missing something, like a student council meeting or something of the sorts, but couldn’t recall anything. And so, with no remembrance of anything utterly important, and choosing to not care deeply about the House’s abnormal silence, Satan went on to read his book, happy that for oce in his life he wouldn’t be disturbed.
It had perhaps been thirty minutes, however, before he was aware of the world outside of the book he was reading.
“Heeeeey!! Put the book down and pay attention to meeee,” a voice said from beside him. He looked up, moving his head to the side, when he noticed the loveliest of eyes staring back at him.
“Hm?” he questioned, softly smiling as he focused on the face in front of him.
“I’ve been trying to find you, and for some reason it took far too much time to get your attention. What’re you reading that’s keeping you so unaware of your surroundings?” MC asked, a curious expression on their face as they leaned down to place their head on the blond’s shoulder. “Oh! I’ve read this one!”
He turned his head ever so slightly to see MC’s expression, a smile plastered on their features.
“Have you now?” he chuckled, closing the book with his thumb still inside to keep the page.
“Yes! I actually had to study it back when I was in school. And for a book required for learning I found it rather enjoyable,” MC said with a fond look on their face. “Can I look through it?”
“Of course,” he said, quietly. He gingerly handed MC the book, his finger still inside. They took it, eyeing him as they made sure to keep his place.
Romeo and Juliet.
A wonderful romance that ends so tragically.
MC smiled as they turned the pages, recalling all the characters, as well as the quotable intro. They got to a particularly memorable line, and mischievously smiled, taking Satan’s hand to pull him to his feet.
“What are you doing?” he questioned, an eyebrow raised as he smiled at MC’s unknown antics.
“O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo?
Deny thy father and refuse thy name;
Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love,
And I'll no longer be a Capulet,” MC said, in the most terrible accent they could muster. They smiled, and nodded to Satan, prompting him to reply. He blinked, then gulped. Then, he stood straight, taking in a breath as he recited the next line, softly, for only MC to hear.
“Shall I hear more, or shall I speak at this?”
MC giggled, then stood straight too, putting on a longing face as they read the line thereafter.
“'Tis but thy name that is my enemy;
Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.
What's Montague? it is nor hand, nor foot,
Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part
Belonging to a man. O, be some other name!
What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;
So Romeo would, were he not Romeo call'd,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that title. Romeo, doff thy name,
And for that name which is no part of thee
Take all myself.”
He took a step closer, and looked straight into their eyes, taking their free hand in his own. He looked serious, and spoke with a soft voice, something just above a whisper.
“I take thee at thy word:
Call me but love, and I'll be new baptized;
Henceforth I never will be Romeo.”
MC blinked several times, eyes still trained on his own, the green irises trapping them from going on. Then, in a quick moment, their eyes flitted to his mouth, quickly eyeing the lips that were ever so close to their own. He did so too, and leaned in further, licking his lips in the process as he kept his eyes trained on MC’s closing ones. The gap between their lips was never filled however, due to the sudden exclamation at the door.
“What’re you two doing!” Mammon’s voice interjected.
They jolted away from each other, snapping their heads to the door to see the Mammon and Asmo standing at the door frame, each curiously watching the fourth born and MC.
“We-w-We were just--”
“We were performing a scene from Romeo and Juliet,” Satan replied, a cool demeanor on his features as he nonchalantly took MC’s hand and kissed it.
“Isn’t that right, my fare Juliet?” he asked, with a wink. MC’s eyebrows furrowed for a split second, then they soon caught on, and smiled. They put the back of their hand to their forehead and feigned swooning.
“I would have to agree, my handsome Romeo,” MC replied. They both smiled at each other, then Asmo spoke.
“WHAT! Satan as Romeo!? I would think no such thing! If anything, I’M the one who’s the most charming, not him!”
MC laughed, while Satan rolled his eyes.
“I would presume you are right Asmo, yet, I do wonder. Have you ever even read the play? Or perhaps seen it?” MC asked, quirking up their brow as they glanced at the blond beside them.
“Well… no… but I know enough about it to know that I would be perfect!”
“You! There’s no way! If anyone’s gonna be Romeo to MC’s Juliet, it’s gonna be me! The Great Mammon!” Mammon exclaimed.
“No way! You’re just a silly scumbag Mammon! There’s no way I would ever let you scar the name of Romeo!”
“I’m not a scumbag! Plus, ya don’t even know what Romeo is like! How would ya ever play him correctly!?”
“I would just use my perfect charm to woo the audience! And my lovely Juliet! Isn’t that right MC?”
The two brothers looked to where they had seen MC standing last, and yet, what’s this? They’re gone!?
“W-Where’d they go!” Mammon exclaimed.
“Yeah! They were right there a second ago!” Asmo said, confusion plastered on his face. The two quickly made it out of the library in hopes to find MC to prove which would be the best Romeo.
And yet, the best Romeo was right beside MC, hiding behind the sofa as the two laughed.
“Fianlly they’re gone,” MC laughed, peeking over the sofa.
“Yes… good…” Satan said, focusing on MC yet again.
They turned their head to him, their smile fading into just the corners of their mouth being upturned.
“So… What do we do know, Romeo?” MC asked, face moving closer to Satan’s.
“Well, Juliet, I would prefer we try a kiss before we must part,” he quietly replied, moving in to close the gap. Their lips connected in a soft, yet dually needy kiss. The two seemed to have been wanting this, and with the opportunity to play the star-crossed lovers, what better time would it be to express the underlying feelings they both exude. Soon, they returned to the real world, both parting as they slowly opened their eyes.
“Perhaps I should go… Those two are looking for me,” MC whispered, face still close to Satan’s.
“Perhaps… but must you go so soon?” he asked, voice just as quiet.
“Alas, it seems I must, but fear not, for I shall return soon.”
They both laughed.
Standing up, Satan took both of MC’s hands in his own.
“You promise to return soon?”
“Yes, of course.”
“Then go, and do not keep me waiting for to long, for my heart yearns for your own.”
Another giggle.
“Farewell, my love,” MC said, stepping away and walking towards the door. “Ah, to think it is true. Parting is such sweet sorrow.”
MC left, leaving Satan alone with his book and his thoughts.
It is, it really is.

Nap time with the Obey me! boys
So basically.... I’ve been super into the Obey Me! Fandom so.... of course I’m gonna write some content. Anyway, I thought of a cute idea with an MC who enjoys a good nap time. As someone who is partial to taking naps for an hour at four almost everyday, I found writing this quite self indulgent haha. Anyway, please enjoy, and to all of the people who are fellow nappers, this one’s for you *wink*
Lucifer!
was looking for MC one day when he found them asleep on the couch in the living room
why were they there? Wouldn’t it be better to just sleep in their own room? Is the couch even COMFORTABLE???
none of these questions get answered of course
he just stands there for a bit, watching MC peacefully sleep
they look absolutely ADORABLE
he would move them to his room just to keep them to himself
but they look much too peaceful
so he leaves them alone
when they wake up, a blanket has been thrown over them
they soon find out it was Lucifer, since he mentions that if they need a nap, his room is always open
MC smiles with a blush, and they seem to take up that offer quiiiiite often, especially when Lucifer is stressed from working
Once MC was welcomed to his room for naps, they were there CONSTANTLY
Doesn’t even want to sleep unless they know Luci has slept well himself
If MC even finds that Luci stayed up too late working again, it will be their mission to have him take a nap with them as well
He doesn’t always want to but is always dragged in somehow
He doesn’t even sleep half the time, he just likes how MC cuddles up to him as they rest, and how their hair feels between his fingers as he softly messages their scalp, his mind deep in thought over things, whether it be his affection to this human or the work he should really be getting to
Oh well~~~
Guess his work will have to wait a tiny bit more
Mammon
MC and him are hanging out one day, just vibing and watching a movie
However, it seems naptime has approached, but MC doesn’t want to seem rude and just fall asleep while Mammon is there
but... the movie’s just soooo slowwwww
and... they’re sooooo close to Mammon that his heat is radiating off and onto MC
so, of course, MC snuggles in a bit more, which brings a blush to Mammon’s face because of the proximity
(he won’t admit that tho, so he tries to be chill)
He just lays there, stiffly, with MC’s head lying on his shoulder.
They slowly start to drift off, head bobbing every once in a while as the movie progresses
Mammon is a statue now
He doesn’t move until he knows they’re asleep, and even then, is VERY careful in moving their head to be placed on a few pillows he moved over (I mean, he doesn’t want them to have a sore neck when they wake up!)
So, he himself lies beside MC, placing his arm under his head as he turns his attention to their sleeping face.
He reaches out, and lightly traces a finger down their cheek, which earns a slight twitch of their nose from the contact
He smiles at how cute they look, and soon falls asleep himself
(wakes up to Lucifer coming in the room, finding the two together at a time where Mammon should NOT be out of his own bed. Gets yeeted by Luci, and MC is still asleep, unaware of the second oldest getting reprimanded)
Levi~~~
As someone who doesn’t leave his room often, Levi is not one prone to witnessing MC’s frequent nap times
That is, until the he invited them to play video games with him one day
He insisted that MC join him for one of his raids, even if the human insisted that this was their time for naps
“But, the raid starts in ten minutes! You HAVE to help me MC!”
“But Levi-”
“It will be great! I PROMISE! PLEASEEEE”
Of course MC could not resist. He was just too cute when he begged
And so, the two were sitting on the floor, screen brightly hitting their faces as the room was dark around them
MC was trying their best to stay awake, seeming as though the game was not keeping them very interested, since they were only used as a decoy.
Levi paid no mind tho, as he was frequently yelling at the screen and telling MC what to do.
He didn’t notice that MC had fallen asleep until he noted that their character was nowhere in sight.
Looking to the side, he finally noted the fact that, yes they had fallen asleep, and yes, they were leaning on his shoulder
OH NO
Cue Levi’s face becoming EXTREMELY red
He had no idea what to do
Why were they asleep? Why were they leaning on his shoulder!? WHY WAS THE ROOM REALLY HOT ALL OF A SUDDEN!?!??
Even with these questions burning he made no attempt to move them
So he just sat there. Stunned.
Welp. Guess it’s a game over for now.
Just gonna sit here for a while till they wake up then
Plot twist: he falls asleep too
Satan <3
All he wanted was to have a nice reading sesh with MC
THAT'S ALL HE WANTED
But no
He had initially invited MC into the library with him, wanting them to read a book he highly recommended and dually loved
He had handed them the book, MC taking it gladly, smiling all the while as they listened to his sinopsis
He was just so cute when his eyes lit up about his favorite books
And so, when he was done, MC was glad to begin reading, hoping to earn the same appreciation he had towards the book
He sat on the seat beside them, his own book in one hand as he held MC’s with the other
It had been at least half an hour before he looked up again, looking to see what MC thought of the book so far.
What he didn’t expect was for MC to be asleep
Was his book really that boring?
He looked down in his seat, sighing in disappointment
Perhaps MC just didn’t appreciate the sophisticated literature he so much enjoyed
But no
That was not the reason
It was just nap time
When MC awoke, they found themselves still in the chair, Satan nowhere to be found.
They grabbed the book, taking it with them as they ventured to find him
Why did he leave them?
MC eventually found him in his room, sitting on his bed with the same book he had in the library. His eyebrows were furrowed in concentration, and it took a few tries before MC finally got him to look up
“What’re you doing in here? I thought you were asleep?” he said, rather coldly
“Sorry! I didn’t mean to! I --”
“If you thought it was boring you could have just said so.”
“No! That’s not it at all! It’s actually very good!”
“Don’t patronize me,” he scoffed, then turned his head to his own book again
MC stared at him, before walking up and stealing his own book from his hands
“HEY!”
“I’ll have you know, that I really do enjoy your book! Anything you give me to read is amazing and I cherish each one! And I fell asleep not because I didn’t like it, but because I’m just prone to falling asleep when I get too comfortable. Also, it was the time of day when I usually fall asleep. I’m sorry. I should have told you.”
He stares at them for a moment, then his face softens.
“I’m sorry too… I shouldn’t have assumed things so easily…”
MC smiled, and nodded, then handed him back his own book. They sat next to each other on the bed, soon venturing off into their own worlds as they comfortably read next to each other
Asmo ~~~
So basically… Asmo took MC to go shopping. Whether MC was forced to or not is a mystery, but in the end, they came home with Asmo and too many bags to carry
By the time they got home, MC was exhausted. Shopping all day with Asmo is very tiresome, especially when he’s always looking for a way to get reactions out of them through outfits he puts on and outfits he insists they try on (most of the time the clothes being rather provocative)
And, even though MC protested that they were going off for a nap, Asmo insisted they come to his room so that he could put away all of his stuff, along with potentially retrying a few things for outfit creativitys sake.
MC found themself on his bed, lying on their stomach as they tried their best to stay awake and give their humblest opinion on Asmo’s fashion choices (which mostly resulted in a short nod, just because they were too tired to really pay attention)
It wasn’t until he had exited into his closet to change yet again that MC finally succumbed to their much needed rest
He came back several minutes later to enter while striking a model pose for MC to see, and yet, he noted their inability to see at all, since, yah know, MC was unconscious
He sighed to himself, knowing that this was bound to happen. He wasn’t blind to their clear exhaustion, but he wanted to see just how long they would stay awake. And yet, here MC was, asleep
He made a move towards the bed, seeing as perhaps this was a perfect opportunity to take a peek at what they were hiding under their clothes, and yet, just seeing their peaceful face made his attempts falter into nothingness
He couldn’t bother such a beautiful form, and that was saying something, since he himself was the most beautiful of them all
So instead, he smiled and laid down beside them, placing both hands to wrap around their sleeping form and easily pull them towards him.
Beel
This man. THIS MAN.
He might have just put MC in a food coma
The two had gone out for dinner, venturing through the market of the devildom trying foods at all of Beel’s favorite vendors. I mean, come on, MC hasn’t tried any of them, so might as well take them
By the time they had gotten home, MC had eaten too much to even care about dinner. All the food they had eaten made MC much too tired to even do anything
They hadn’t even been able to make it to their own room, settling for the couch in the lounge, since it was closest to the foyer.
Beel had left them to go to the kitchen (of all things) since, yes, of course this man was still hungry, even after ALL OF THE FOOD he had just eaten
He soon had more snacks than he could carry in his arms, and ventured his way to MC’s room to spend more time with them
But, what’s this!? MC isn’t in their room?!
Beel ventured through the rest of the House, going upstairs and even aking his brothers where he may find the human
None of them knew, that is, until he recalled seeing MC walking into the living room upin their arrival
He scurried down the stairs, his snacks still in hand, when he finally made it into the living room
Once he found MC lying on the couch, asleep, just the thought of his snacks had been forgotten
He now had a more fulfilling need in his hands
That was gathering MC and taking them to their room, which would most definitely end in him cuddling into them as they both lied on MC’s bed
Bonus:
MC wakes up to fluffy orange hair in their face
They easily figure out its Beel, and pet his soft locks, making an effort to glance down at his peaceful face.
MC feels content in Beels arms, and easily is lulled back to sleep, with the thought to thank him later for taking them to their own room to sleep (Beel just didn’t want anyone else to see his angel sleeping so peacefully)
Belpie!
So basically
Nap time is WELCOMED with this man
MC had their own nap schedule? Well, Belphie can adjust to it too
Once that special time hits the clock, the pair can be seen heading off for their nap.
Sometimes it varies
Sometimes they can be found in Beel and Belphie’s room, snuggled up in Belphie’s bed
Perhaps they were too comfy to move out of the couch
Maybe they even fell asleep together while watching a movie in MC’s room
Regardlessly, I think their most favorite spot to fall asleep in is up in the observatory
It’s just so peaceful there, with the brothers rarely venturing into that room
Plus, I’m sure Belphie and MC had created their own place to sleep, the pair bringing up as many pillows to lay on as they nod off while looking at the stars above
Belphie never really looks at the stars though
He’s much too transfixed on MC’s glorious face
If only he could keep them to himself for forever
Perhaps he can, since the world of dreams can also be a plausible place to spend an infinite amount of time with his human
He loves his nap time, and will never miss out on it.
Even if MC isn’t too tired, they will never say no to spending time with Belphie as he himself falls into his own slumber.

Leon x fem!reader: A Recollection
Prompt: “I’m sorry.... But I don’t remember you”
Word count: 5812
Alrighty. This is finally done. I took forever to finish it cuz um I’m slow and also I didn’t know how I would properly finish it. But now I have. So yeah. Hope ya’ll enjoy :)
~~~~~~
She had arrived in Wydon on a particularly cloudy day. A fresh coat of rain layered over the streets as people scurried through the town. Pokemon could be seen casually following in their owner’s wake. With the bustling about, and the splatter of water, (name) stood outside of the train station, looking around in wonder. She had never been in Wyndon before, seeing as it was a city she never visited when she was younger. She noted the stadium, the lovely way it looked like a rose. Then, she saw the hotel, all the way across the town, the clock tower seen in all of its glory. She smiled, and walked down the entrance. There, she saw a man and woman standing, waiting. They looked to her, the man smiling as he stopped twisting the longer piece of his hair. He walked towards her, extending his hand.
“Ah! You must be (name), am I right? I’m Rose, the League Chairman of Galar,” he said. (Name) took his hand, shaking it with a smile.
“Nice to meet you sir.”
“I hope your trip was alright?” he asked, referring to the large suitcase in her hands.
“Oh! Yes. It was very nice. Galar is so beautiful!”
“I’m glad you think so. Oleana, do you mind grabbing her luggage?”
The woman beside him nodded, her face emotionless as she stepped toward (name).
“Oh, haha, no, it’s alright sir. I can --”
“But, I insist! Plus, Oleana is more than happy with carrying your stuff, isn’t that right?” Rose says, waving his hand offhandedly as he starts to walk. (Name) looks to Oleana, who nods, and quickly takes the luggage from her hands. A look of confusion is plastered on (name)’s face, but she shrugs off the peculiar relationship between the two, and walks after Rose, falling in step with him as they head to the hotel.
“So, have you ever visited Galar before?” he asks in an attempt at small talk. They pass a few buildings, which home the many people that live in Wyndon.
“Well, yes of course. I actually used to live here,” she replies, looking around as she speaks.
“Really? Well isn’t that exciting. You must be happy to be back,” he says.
“Oh yes. I haven’t been here in years. I’ve missed it so much,” she sighs, looking to him. His face is neutral, a look of disinterest as opposed to the enthusiastic way he sounded. She’s silent for a bit, taking in the scenery as she ignores the discomfort of the Chairman’s company. His demeanor was welcoming, but gave off the feeling that this was just a chore. Something he didn’t need to do. “I thought the Champion would be here too.”
He doesn’t reply immediately, seeming as if other things are on his mind. A nudge from Oleana can be seen and he snaps into a jovial mood.
“OH! Yes, he was, but alas he had family business to attend to.”
“Ah, I see…” she nods in understanding. A strong silence is placed in the air as they finish their walk to the hotel, Rose stopping at the entrance to turn to (name), his seemingly fake enthusiasm emerging again.
“Well! Here we are! The Rose of the Rondelands Hotel! It’s quite the elegant one, if I do say so myself,” he says, with a grand gesture to the large hotel in front of them. Just saying the name brings about a glow to him that hadn’t been expressed at all during their short time together.
“It is rather lovely,” (name) agrees, hoping her approval will spark something other than discontent with the Chairman.
“Yes, it is,” he seemingly sighs. Then, he perks up and his usual business-like expression re-emerges onto his features. “Well, this seems to be the end of our tour!”
It wasn’t much of a tour.
“I guess I’ll leave you here. You can get settled in just fine, am I correct?” he asks with a sickeningly sweet smile.
“Oh… um… yes. I’m sure I can handle myself,” she replies with an uneasy nod. She glances at the large building again, feeling a bit discontent with his “helpfulness”.
“Wonderful! Then, I’ll have Oleana return your luggage,” he says, nodding to the woman who (name) completely forgot about due to her silence. She steps forward, handing over the suitcase’s handle, the slightest tinge of relief and annoyance etched onto her stoic features. She steps back beside Rose, who beams at (name).
“Well, I guess this is where I take my leave, my dear,” he says, with a bow of his head. He turns to leave but soon stops in his wake to utter one final remark. “Oh! And Leon will definitely be here to accompany your trip around Galar soon enough. In fact, I messaged him just as you arrived, telling him not to keep you waiting for too long.”
“Oh, haha, you didn’t have to tell him that,” (Name) says, feeling bad for the Champion who has to deal with such a seemingly demanding Chairman. “I mean, he can take as much time as he needs!”
Rose chuckles in response.
“Of course. Well, now this is the final time I will bid thee farewell. Good evening (name)!”
And with a final wave of his hand, the Chairman walks away, seemingly heading to what Galar uses as a “flying taxi” system.
“Right… Yes…” (name) mutters to no one in particular. She looks around, noting that no one is around, and shakes her head, as she heads up the stairs into the elegant foyer of the hotel.
~~~
By the next two days, (name) had had it with Wyndon and the people of Galar. How could she be stuck in a hotel since her arrival? Why hadn’t the Champion been the one to whisk her away instead of that iffy Chairman? Her brain was jumbled with questions, annoyance and frustration entering her system as she paced inside her room.
The hotel was extremely lavish, including everything a five star hotel should. Even her room was far too much, her own suite accompanied an entirely different room for a kitchen, and a bathroom that had its own spa-like bathtub. A shelf above lined with different soaps and scents to richly bathe in was also included, which wasn’t something she would much complain about, but found much too extravagant. Even the bedroom was over the top, the bed itself having a curtained canopy bed frame, with so many pillows that one could drown in. Now, she herself thought the suite was amazing, but as she was only one person, with rather small pokemon to accompany her, she found she missed the quaint hotels she usually stayed in when she traveled across the Regions. And her annoyance with Galar’s lushness didn’t help due to the fact she had yet to actually see any of it because of the Champion’s utter slowness to get to her. Perhaps she was being selfish, but he knew of her whereabouts and didn’t seem to put her as priority.
And so, with a swift plop onto the nearest chair, she pulled out her Rotom phone, just about to dial the Chairman to give him a piece of her mind, when a sudden knock was heard from the door. She tilted her head as she stared at it, wondering if it would sound again, when yet another, much louder rap was heard on the wood. She stood, adjusted her outfit as needed, and headed to open it. With a click of the lock and a twist of the knob, the door opened, revealing a man she had never imagined she would have ever seen again.
“Lee?” she said, an astounded look on her face as she gawked at him. He looked rather different, with his hair much longer, and the mature stature of his face and form, but she could tell, this was the Leon she had known so long ago.
“Um… Hello? Are you (name)?” he asked, a confused look on his face as he responded to the unauthorized use of his nickname.
“Oh! Haha, yes! That’s me! (Name)!” she laughed nervously. Why was she all of a sudden so apprehensive to speak to him? Was his reaction not what she expected? She remembered him, but was it not a reciprocated remembrance?
“Uh… So, I’m so sorry to have kept you waiting here for so long. I’m sure Rose told you I had family business to attend to, but I really wanted to meet you when you got here! And um… mind if I come in?” he asks.
“Yes! Um, of course! How silly of me not to offer…” she mentally slapped herself as she opened the door wider. He entered with a grateful smile, walking over to the quaint living room and taking a seat on the sofa. She followed tenaciously, not understanding the confusion she was feeling.
“So, have you gone out to explore Wydon?” he asks in an attempt at small talk.
“Yes! I did actually. The-uh-the stadium is lovely.”
“Yeah! It really is!” he laughs.
A silence emerges as they both grasp for something to say.
“Want anything to drink?” she asks in a final attempt to keep the conversation from being dead.
“Yeah, uh, water would be nice?”
“Is that a question?” she quips, in an attempt at humor.
The move was not very effective.
“No! I mean if it’s too much trouble, I don’t want you to go out of your--”
“I was joking! It’s no problem at all…”
And to think things couldn’t get more awkward.
“Why did you call me ‘Lee’ when you opened the door?”
And yet they can.
She froze from her spot at the fridge, her arm in midair as she was about to grab a water bottle. She quickly wracked her brain for an answer, but didn’t really know how to word it correctly, herself standing as she responded.
“O-oh, well I mean, I know you I guess.”
That didn’t come out the way she wanted.
“You know me?”
She could sense the raising of an eyebrow from his tone.
“Well, I don’t know-you-know-you per se… but I did…”
She turns to walk back to him, her suspicions about the raised eyebrow looking correct.
“You did?”
This conversation was getting worse by the second.
“You know what? Let’s just forget I even said---”
“No continue, you have me intrigued.”
She sighs.
“Well, I mean…” --Just ask it (name), there’s no going back now-- “Don’t you remember me?”
“Well, wouldn’t you think I would when I first saw you?”
“So… then you don’t…”
“I’m sorry… but I really don’t remember you.”
She sighs again in disappointment.
“Yeah… I figured you wouldn’t. It would be a long shot if you would have remembered me, seeing as we were so young when we met…”
A new look of curiosity enters his face.
“Young?”
“Yeah. We were just nine or ten I think. You and I would always hang out… don’t you remember that? And we would battle all the time…” she chuckles, “... and you would always win, with that awesome Charmander of yours. Do you still have him?”
He nods, patting the pokeball strapped to his waste.
“Ah. He must be such a big one now huh? A Charzard right?”
He nods again. There’s a look in his eyes that she can’t quite read, but she dismisses it and continues on with her explanation.
“Anyway, I guess since I moved away after you became the Champion, you forgot about me huh?”
This takes him aback. A newfound form of defense rising in his system.
“Wait a minute. You can’t just say that!”
“What?”
“That I ‘just forgot about you’ because I ‘became the Champion.’” he says, his defensive side on full blast as he uses air quotes to emphasize his disagreement. “I don’t even know you! And if I did, a friend would never assume that! If anything, it sure does sound like you were jealous of me if you can accuse me of that so easily.”
She scoffs with an offended shake of her head.
“Excuse me? I would never be jealous! I never was!”
“Then why don’t I remember you? Why didn’t you ever stay in contact with me if we were ‘such great friends!?’”
The air quotations used made that phrase sting, it piercing a wounded nerve that never fully healed in her heart.
“I never stayed in contact with you!? You can’t even remember! You don’t know SHIT!”
“Then enlighten me, oh knowledgeable one! Because your story isn’t turning out very believable.”
She stared at him, not able to process what to say. The pain in her heart resurfaced, something she hoped would never happen again. She knew she tried. Oh she tried so hard to remain friends with the boy who became Champion at such a young age. She wrote to him as often as possible. Replies only existed on occasions, and even then they were short and unmoving. So of course, soon enough, all efforts to keep a friendship afloat was thrown overboard. What would one expect from a pair of ten year olds with short attention spans? Not that he had one. No. His was the excuse of being constantly busy. Matches being forced upon a young boy. Exposure to the media. Instant fame. All the features that would keep someone busy. And of course, that forced the end to anything they could have possessed. The only way was for the one reaching out to stop all hopes. To learn to grow up. And to perhaps do so at the same rate that he endured.
She looked down at the floor, face filled with disappointment. Perhaps there was no convincing someone of a lost friendship.
“I’m sorry. I… I made it up. So, much for a first impression I guess,” she tried, a smile forced upon her lips as she looked up. He stared at her, eyebrows knit together. How could she just say things like that? There was obviously something she needed to convince him of. To end all efforts meant she was truly making it up, or her nerves were all too much. He softened, sitting up and clearing his throat.
“I-it’s fine. Uh…” he didn’t know how to continue further. It was too much now. The mood was ruined. There was too much of a tension in the air for either of them to speak.
They sat there, with a silence so thick neither felt like they could breath. Suddenly, she stood. She cleared her throat, and went to her room. He stared after her, dumbfounded. What was he supposed to do now? Was he supposed to apologize as well? He felt a pang of guilt, but he wasn’t sure of what for. He bit his lip, confusion filling his system. He also stood, placing a hand on his forehead. Perhaps it wouldn’t be right for him to accompany her across Galar after all. With one last glance to the room she disappeared into, he walked to the door, and opened it. He was just about to step out when he heard her voice.
“You’re leaving?”
He turned back.
“I thought you wouldn’t want me here anym--”
“No! I-I’m sorry… I was just gathering… my… stuff…” she said, eyes shifting to the side as she revealed her suitcase. He stared at her, yet again, with an inaudible “oh” escaping his lips. Silence resurfaced.
“You still want me to… help you out?” he asked, his hand rubbing at the back of his neck.
Oh, how much more awkward this has become.
“Well, I mean I waited for you this long.”
He looked up at her, seeing she was trying her best to lighten the mood. He nodded, his own attempt at a smile showing on his face.
“Let’s go then,” he said, opening the door wider, allowing her to walk through first. Oh how interesting of an adventure this would be.
~~~~~
To say things got better… would be a massive disappointment. The air about them was now always filled with a tinge of discomfort, neither knowing how to address the other’s obvious feelings. They traveled in silence, both on their phones doing nothing in particular, but looking as if they were busy to stifle any form of conversation. It wasn’t until they entered Wedgehurst Station that anything interesting was said.
 “Wow… it’s a lot smaller than I remember,” (Name) said, slowly turning to take in the sights all around her. “But much more beautiful.”
“Yeah. It really is,” Leon said, nodding in agreement as he himself looked around at the
rolling fields that made up the small town. He stopped for a moment, then looked at her. “You’ve… been here?”
“Yeah, of course,” she replied, not once taking her eyes off of the fields. “I used to live here.”
He was taken aback by this. Was she really telling the truth about knowing him when he was young? He looked at her, watching her reaction as she longingly stared at the scene around them. It wasn’t long until a crowd formed however, the people finally noticing the Champion was in their midst.
“Leon!”
“We’ve missed you!”
“It’s great to see you here!”
All this and more could be heard coming from the people surrounding him. His face broke out into a smile, greeting the people as if they were friends. She watched this, noticing his change in mood like a flick of a switch. To think he could so easily go from a serious face to something with so much eagerness to please with just a call of his name.
She moved to the side, watching as he greeted everyone, each person getting their time with their beloved Champion. The crowd soon grew smaller, until a single boy stood in front of him, the widest grin placed on his face.
“Lee!” the boy exclaimed. He looked oddly familiar, with the same colored locks and the same sparkle of golden eyes as the man in front of him. Leon chuckled, ruffling the boy’s hair as he pulled him into a hug.
“Hop! What’s up mate? How’ve you been?”
“LEEee! I literally just saw you a few days ago! But, I’ve been fine. I’m glad you're here! Did you take the person around Galar like you said you would?” the boy asked, looking up to his brother.
“Uh-huh. Actually she’s here right now,” Leon said, whispering the last bit into the younger’s ear.
Hop looked around, spotting (name) quickly as he beamed at her. She waved, her own attempt at a smile aimed at the boy who looked ever so much like Leon.
“Hi! I’m Hop! You must be (name)!” he exclaimed, walking over and taking out his hand to shake.
“Aha, yes. That's me,” she replied, taking his hand in her own.
“Lee’s told me all about you! You must have so many pokemon as someone who travels around the Regions often! Seen any rare ones?! How many do you have?! Can I see them!?” he exclaims. His enthusiasm is nice, but just the way he looks so much like his brother makes her tense. She doesn’t know how to respond, that is until Leon places a hand on the bouncing boy’s shoulder.
“Haha. Alright Hop, let’s give her a break. You can ask her all about her Pokemon when we get settled at home.” -- the boy opens his mouth again, but Leon beats him to it -- “and after we eat dinner.”
Hop looks as if he physically deflates, his enthusiasm replaced with a glum look. It quickly returns, however, as he insists to take her luggage. She couldn’t say no, so she allowed him to do so. He soon starts running as he calls back he’ll beat the two to the house. Leon shakes his head at his overly hyper brother, (name) letting out a snicker as she watches him do so.
“What?” he asks, enjoying the fact that she is amused.
“Nothing,” she says, starting to walk in the direction that Hop went. He followed, wanting to start a conversation after such a long silence they both endured.
“So… how long ago did you move away from Wedgehurst?”
The question surprises her.
“Oh… well it was quite a long time ago. I would say… around 17 years?” she replies, a thoughtful look on her face as she tries to recall the exact time. “I don’t remember much. It was definitely a lot different…”
She trails off, not knowing what else to say.
“Uh… yeah! I mean, um, when I was younger this place definitely wasn’t as lively as it is now… I mean, I guess that’s because everyone knows that this is my hometown…”
“Ah. I see.”
The awkward silence is placed yet again. He wished he could figure out what else to say but he truly was at a loss of words. How to talk to her after such a blunder the first time they spoke was confounding to him. He just wanted to fix the relationship they never had. Or so he thought.
Nearing his parents house, (name) grew even more uneasy. It looked exactly the same as she remembered, the place she had visited oh-so-many times. Why did he have to forget her? It would make things all the worse if his parents were able to remember and not him. She stopped in her tracks, shaking her head as she stared down at the floor.
“What’s wrong?”
She heard him, but didn’t care to listen to his obvious sound of concern. She didn’t want anything to do with another situation that would lead to his utter confusion. The fact he didn’t remember hurt all too much, but if his parents could and he could not? It would cause all the more heartache. And so, with a swift turn, she ran. She had no idea where she would go, but as long as she didn’t have to step inside that house, everything would definitely be all the better.
Leon, however, didn’t know how to react. Her sudden exit was not what he was expecting, and he had no clue how he would comfort her now. He knew she was hurt. Knew that her story of a lost friendship was becoming all the more real as he learned more about her. He glanced at the door, only inches away, but knew leaving her alone would never be of help to her. In a final seconds decision, he quickly ran after her, only able to see her retreating form heading for the Slumbering Weald.
~~~~
How he found her, he had no idea. As someone who was terrible with directions, Leon finally found her sitting alone on an extremely old looking swing. The trees surrounding left the slightest gleam of light enter through the leaves, illuminating her hair and back. She hadn’t yet noticed him, but the sound of sniffles could be heard.
SNAP
Her head flung up, turning to Leon as he slowly lifted his gaze from the twig he just stepped on. His eyes were wide, but softened as he noticed her features blotched with red, and tearstained. He stepped towards her, but stopped when she turned away.
“Why’re you here?” she asked, head bowed as a tinge of venom escaped her lips. He gulped, but continued to walk towards her, ‘till his figure towered over her sunken form.
“I wanted to know that you were okay…”
“You don’t need to. I’m fine, so you can just leave,” her hand waved him off, eyes still not meeting his own.
At this point, he didn’t know what to say. What was the point of following her when he knew she didn’t want him to be around? He sighed, placing a hand at the back of his head as he ran his fingers through his hair. What to do… What to do… he wondered to himself, and finally took in the scene around him.
This patch of opening in the forest was something that seemed familiar to him. A place he remembered stumbling upon on his own when he was young. He had no idea how he made it there, but recalled returning whenever he wanted to be alone. Then he remembered the slightest of detail that made him turn to her ever so quickly.
“How did you know about this place?” he asked, a sense of hope in his voice as he started to understand.
“I… I stumbled upon it when I was young… It was my--”
“Quiet place?” he finished. She raised her head again, turning to stare at him in wonder.
“Yes… it was…”
“I used to come here too. You know, when I just wanted to get away.”
A moment's flash, and the recollection of a girl sitting on this exact swing entered his mind.
“Could-could you tell me more about how we met?”
The sudden question made her stare at him even more, confusion falling over her as he looked back into her glossy eyes. She gulped.
“Why do you want to know? I thought you didn’t care.”
He cringes at her words, his brows creasing as he looks to the floor.
“No never. I-I do care…” he looked back up to her to finish, “just tell me. Please?”
Her eyes searched his, moving over his features to see if there was any falter in what looked like sincerity. She found none. She sighed.
“I first met you when I was what? Maybe 9? 10--?”
“When? Where?”
She tilted her head, looking at him in disapproval from his interruption. He sheepishly looked away in his embarrassment from eagerness. She sighed again.
“I was on my way here actually, when I could hear the softest voice speaking in the woods ahead. In fact, in the place where I was headed. I was careful. Quiet. And then, I saw you with your charmander, speaking to it in the most loving way a ten-year-old could speak to something. It looked hurt from what I could tell, but you were comforting it in such a way, I wanted to know what you were saying. So I stepped out. I guess I had made too much noise because you immediately looked up. Which also drew the attention of your pokemon.”
Leon looked at her with such an intensity, trying to search his mind's eye of any recollection of an event like this. She continued, ignoring his strong gaze.
“It got scared, from what I saw, and you yourself seemed pretty startled. I mean, you hid the poor thing from me, as if I hadn’t seen it already. I didn’t dare step closer, only because I didn’t want you or it to go anywhere. Not like you could… but still….
“I tried talking to you. I was an extremely shy child back then, so just allowing myself a ‘hello’ took a bit of courage to say. I walked closer, and crouched just in front of you, each of us just staring at the other, not knowing what to say. At this point you had a curious look in your eyes, as if you wanted to say something, perhaps to ask how I ended up in your secret place…. Our secret place. And just as I was about to ask who you were, your charmander ran up to me, taking a defensive turn to try and protect you. I of course got scared, myself not owning a pokemon of my own and not sure of how I was supposed to defend myself. So, I ran. And that’s how we met.”
She stopped her story, blinking at Leon as he shook his head in confusion.
“That’s it!?”
“Yeah.”
“That’s how we met?” he sounded incredulous.
“Mmhm.”
“Then how exactly did we become friends?”
“Well that’s the question now, isn’t it?”
“Well I am asking it.”
She laughed.
“Okay, fine. Next time we met, I thought I would be sure to be here,” -- she motioned to the spot they were in -- “before you. So, I would come everyday, the same time I remembered you being here. I went everyday for weeks, and one day, I realized perhaps I would never get to see the golden eyed boy with the feisty charmander. So here I was, sitting on this exact swing, thinking to myself, when I heard steps. I looked up, and woah and behold, you were there.”
His eyes widen at this revelation.
“I remember this!”
“Huh?”
He nods vigorously now, another flood of memory entering his mind as he jumps back.
“Yes! I do! I remember you, sitting right there! In my spot! And I remember I got so mad that --”
“That you challenged me to a pokemon battle?” she intervened, a blossom of hope entering her eyes as she eagerly sat up.
“Yeah! And I remember, I remember you just stared at me. You stared with those big… pretty... eyes… and gave me that look of utter confusion… and wonder… and….” he trailed off, looking at her the same way he did as a little boy. He always thought she was pretty, even as a young lad. He remembered how her eyes sparkled when she tilted her head, not understanding his sudden attempt at a challenge. And how he remembered his contempt when she told him she had no pokemon of her own to battle with. And then, he remembered his own wonder, at how in the world this girl could have no pokemon of her own to love and to hold.
He looked at her for a few moments longer, her face expressing the same emotion he just described, waiting for him to continue. He smiled and went on.
“And I gave up when you told me you had no pokemon. Instead, I found it was my duty to help you get one of your own, so that we could battle and I could regain my spot for my own… but that didn’t happen now did it?”
She shook her head.
“We decided to share it,” she replied.
Leon smiled even wider than before.
“Yeah. We did.”
There was a long pause in the air. A silence that had risen between them yet again, but this time something that was welcomed and not filled with awkwardness or discomfort.
“So… you do remember?” she asked, standing from her seat on the swing, but holding onto the rope that held it up.
“Yeah. I do.”
And then his happiness turned to sadness as he recalled the rest of the story.
“I remember you telling me right before my challenge with the champion that you were leaving. That you were moving away from Galar and probably never coming back. And I remember getting so mad at you. Mad and sad. And it was because of those feelings that I was able to beat the Champion. But it was also that feeling that caused me to push you away.”
She gasped, looking into his golden eyes as she herself recalled the betrayal felt when her only friend started to push her away.
“I-I thought that since you were leaving, it would be best to just not talk to you anymore. And since I was the new Champion, it made it all the more easier. So when you left… it didn’t make a difference to me… because I was already prepared to forget about ever seeing you…”
She looked to the ground, his honesty hurting her more than he could imagine.
So her attempts at mending their friendship was futile after all. It wasn’t because his Champion duties took away his time. It was because he truly did not care. And with this can of worms opened, it only made the heartache hurt more.
A sniff, and then her eyes welled with tears, herself biting her lip in an attempt at trying not to cry. Her attempts betrayed her when he said more.
“I remember you sending me letters now. I read each one. And all they did was rekindle the fire of sadness that was in my ten year old heart. All I wanted was for my friend to be there with me along the way. To be of help when I needed you. So that’s why, I don’t remember. You leaving hurt me so much, that I guess I must have pushed the very thought of you away.”
And then the floodgates broke. A sob exited her lips as she covered her mouth, and with that one sound, she was engulfed into his arms. He held her as she cried, caressing her hair in attempts to comfort her. He let her cry as much as she wanted, because he knew this was what she needed. A way to help cope with her feelings after such a long time of remembering such a heartache. When there were no tears left to cry, she leaned back in his arms. Looking into her tearstained face, one last question entered his mind.
“Why didn’t you just forget me? Why keep this inside of you for so long?”
She didn’t look into his eyes, but had an unfocused stare that she placed on his chest.
“I guess it’s because you meant so much to me. You were practically my first friend. The person who caught me my first pokemon. Who challenged me to so many pokemon battles that always ended in your success. The only one that I enjoyed spending time with because you were so fun to be around. I guess that’s why. Knowing you could so easily forget is the reason why it hurt so much. Because I cared so much.”
He nodded, not knowing what to say. Instead he lifted her chin, forcing her to look him in the eyes. They stayed like this for a few moments, then he smiled.
“Geez, I’m glad I got to meet you again. Maybe it wasn’t in the best way to rekindle our friendship, but it was definitely the most interesting. The question is, are you alright with forgiving me for being such a dummy for so long?”
She giggled as she wrapped her arms around him again.
“Of course I am,” she said, her head resting on his chest.
“Good. I’m glad.”
They finally let go of each other, a new air about them as they sighed in relief.
“So, ready to get back to my place?”
“Yes. Definitely.”
“Think you could lead the way? I get lost easily…”
She laughed in response, placing a hand on his shoulder as she shook her head.
“Yeah. Sure. Come on you forgetful man,” she laughed as she walked back through the trees.
“Hey! I’m not that forgetful!”
“Haha okay bud.”
“I’m serious!”
And so, perhaps her trip back to Galar wasn’t as bad as she thought it would be, now that things were out in the open and everything was alright with Lee.

Bucky Barnes - meets a new neighbor for the first time - also is shy boi, but includes anxiety because adapting to a new time is hard
Idrk who - AU where people lose hearing at a certain age but regain it when soulmate is found?
Connor (Detroit Become Human) - “ I think I’m in love with you, and I’m terrified.” - in which he finds out hes falling in love

~~~~~
The weather in Galar was always patchy, with different cities experiencing different climates and temperatures. Stow-on-Side was always unbearably warm, while Circhester was always emanating the crispness of a cold, snowy season. However, city climates were bearable due to the fact that they stayed the same mostly year round. With this in mind, there’s also the fact that the biggest area in Galar consisted of the Wild Area, which contained the most random of weather patterns. So of course, when (name) found herself exploring the Wild Area for a few days to research pokemon and how they live, she experienced the many different temperatures. Going from immeasurably hot to storms of ice cold was never a good thing, and it also was never of help when random spots of rain came about. Sure, she found the rain a lovely feature, and was always happy to get drenched in it, but wasn’t very keen on the idea that perhaps staying out for too long would lead to an unpleasant surprise. It had been the second to last day when she started having an itchy feeling in the back of her throat, but paid no mind to it. She assumed it was due to lack of water and just continued to drink on. It wasn’t until the day that she arrived back home when a full blown cold had entered her system.
The keys to her shared home jangled in the lock, and with a swift swing, the door was opened. She walked inside, her Togedemaru quickly scurrying between her legs to jump into his little bed he missed oh-so-much. She herself walked in with hopes of just lying down on her own bed, but only made it to the couch in the brightly lit living room. With a flop onto the couch, she rested her head against a pillow, while a hand was placed on her head as she closed her eyes. She was almost off to sleep when she heard footsteps enter the living room.
“Babe!? Is that you? Where are you?”
A sigh came out of her mouth as she sat up, turning to her boyfriend who towered over her behind the couch.
“I’m here,” she said, rubbing her eyes to wake them as best she could.
“Hey!” he said, a bright smile on his face as he went around to sit himself next to her. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close as he placed a kiss to her temple. “How’s my girl doin’? Did you have a good trip? Catch any pokemon?”
She lazily shook her head from the crook of his neck. Her hands were only slightly grasping him as he hugged her, his shirt being crumpled by the way she held on.
“Babe? Are you good?” His tone was now filled with a tinge of worry due to her lack of a response. He slid both hands up to either side of her shoulders as he lifted her off of him. He looked into her eyes, seeing the droopiness of them, sensing her exhaustion. Then he noticed her nose, red and running. He shook his head, and placed her to lie on his lap. He tenderly stroked her hair.
“I shouldn’t have let you go out at all if I had known you would get sick.”
She sighed, but chuckled, then let out a fit of coughs that she tried her best to cover with her arm.
“Well, how would I know I would get sick? Plus I’m fiiiiine,” she said, pushing his hands away from her head. She turned her body to face away from him, closing her eyes as she tried again to sleep. He shook his head, looking down at the stubborn girl lying on him.
“Babydoll, you’re definitely not fine. Why don’t I go get you some medicine and make you some soup hmm?”
She shook her head with her eyes still closed. The rays of light that entered the room hit her face quite perfectly, but wasn’t very welcomed. She furrowed her brows in annoyance due to the brightness and warmth, and decided her attempt at resting was all for none. She raised her head from Raihan’s lap and slowly opened her eyes. Then she let out a soft sneeze, which earned a chuckle from the man beside her.
“Why’re you so cute?” he said, reaching out to run a hand through her tangled hair.
“I’m not. I’m actually really gross right now,” she retorted. Without any tissues to help relieve her nose, and to emphasize her “grossness,” she used her sleeve to wipe the residue escaping her nostrils.
“Ew. Babe, don’t do that. If you need tissues I’ll go get you some,” Raihan said, his own nose scrunching up in disgust.
A snicker was her response.
“You know what. How about I put on a bath for you. Maybe that’ll help you out,” he offers. He stands up, and looks at his disheveled girlfriend. She does look rather miserable, and all he would like is to help her, regardless of her stubbornness. He offers a hand out to her, but she refuses. “(Nickname), if you don’t come with me now, I’m going to have to use force on you.”
This earns a glare from her.
“No, I don’t need your help Rai.”
“You’re being really difficult right now.”
“I know I am.”
“Baby, I’m just trying to help you out.”
“I don’t want your help.”
“Ugh! (name)!”
And now, the soft boi has become upset.
With a roll of his eyes, he has no trouble wrapping an arm around her waist and lifting her to be swung over his shoulder. Perhaps it's not the nicest way, but he has reached the peak of not caring. Of course, it also doesn’t help that his girlfriend has started to scream and wiggle in detest, angrily wishing to get down. With a turn, Raihan walks to the direction of the bathroom, giving (name) a perfect glance at her Togedemaru lying on his bed.
“Toga! Help me! Use thunder shock!” (Name) yells from her upside down position.
“You’re really gonna use Toga on me (nickname)!?”
Even if she did want to use her pokemon on her boyfriend, nothing would have moved the small ball of electricity from his spot on his bed. He was just far too comfortable to give a care about his partner’s protests at being carried away.
It wasn’t hard to get to the bathroom and turn on the water for a bath. Raihan found it extremely easy when he placed his girlfriend on the bed, due to the fact that she was upset and wanted to express her anger through her body language. Her arms were crossed and she glared at him, but it was an empty threat.
He knew she still loved him.
Hopefully.
That’s why he hoped a bath would help her crankiness, because whenever she got sick, she was a mess.
“Are you gonna undress yourself, or am I gonna have to do that too?” he asked with a chuckle and a tilt of his head. She gave no response, just a move of her head to the side. “Fine. Guess I’ll do it then.”
He had only walked a few steps before she reached out her hands in a stop motion.
“No! I’ll do it,” she said, with an annoyed pout.
“Damn…. But I kinda wanted to….”
A giggle exitted the mouth of both parties.
“Well…. Maybe you can later…. But…. right now I guess I could do okay with a bath….”
He smiled. He ruffled her hair, then leaned down to kiss the top of her head.
“That’s my girl. While you do that, I’ll make you some soup, hmm? How does that sound?”
She nodded with a smile.
“Okay.”
With her positive answer, he deemed his job done and turned to exit the room, but was soon stopped by her voice.
“I’ve missed you so much Rai.”
He looked back, seeing a warm smile on her face.
“I’ve missed you too babydoll.”
“Thanks for taking care of me.”
“I’ll always be here for you. Now hurry up and do your thing, I want to spend as much time with you as I can.”
Her smile widens, and she nods, watching her wonderfully caring boyfriend exit the room with a swift close of the door.
And yes, of course they would be spending tons of time with each other, because within the next two days, Raihan would also start getting the signs of a cold.
“Dammit (nickname).”
The only response she could give was a loud giggle as she was smothered by the man she loved so much.
Raihan x reader: Wonderful
Oh geez. Here we go. So like this is my first fanfic on here? I’m just vibing with Pokemon right now and Raihan is my man, soooooo yeah, hope this is entertaining enough oop
Word count: 5053
Warnings: just some suggestiveness???
Warm rays of sunlight flowed into the bedroom from a single window, hitting the dresser with a glow of yellow. The crystal bottles filled with fragranced liquids lining the countertop shone pastel blues and yellows, reflecting those colors through them onto the wall. The rest of the room wasn’t as bright, the small desk and chair still basking in the darkness in the corner. The bed radiated only a slight amount of the light, only the bottom edges filled with its warmth.
Perhaps this was a reason for the sudden stirring from underneath the blue sheets of the bed. The slight warmth could be felt on their toes, legs shifting to be tucked closer to their cool form. Their torso flipping from one side to the other, arms moving above their head to be tucked under a plush pillow. It wasn’t until the shift of their face from the darkness to the rising light that their features also moved. A bat of their lashes. A twitch of their nose. The move of a hand to run through the messy tresses of their hair would let tired eyes open. A blink or two, then closed again with a scrunch of exhausted annoyance. Their torso moved again, shifting to the darker side, hoping to fall asleep once more.
A few moments. A sigh. Then, the dark eyes of the girl lying on the bed opened. She rubbed at her face, moving her hair from her eyes as they started to focus. She was facing a wall, her eyebrows furrowing at this knowledge. She quickly sat up, instantly regretting her decision as soon as a pounding headache came flooding into her skull. She flung her hand to her forehead with eyes squeezed shut. The pain was unbearable, but the unfamiliarity she possessed was her priority. She slowly opened an eye. Then the other. Her hand was still in place, the pounding in her head not easing in the slightest. She looked around the room. Slowly. Nervously. She saw a grey dresser sitting near the bed, the light streaming in from the window across from it, allowing the dresser to bask in its brightness. She looked across from her, noting the posters and picture frames lining the wall. The glare from the light made the glass frames impossible to see through. She noted the desk with papers scattered across it. Then to the chair, tucked neatly into the desk, and yet, saw something that made her head ache much more than it already did. A bright red bra hung from the edge of the chair.
Her bright red bra.
The one she had been wearing the night before.
Then the fuzziness in her head cleared up for a moment as it finally dawned on her.
“Oh no.”
With a swift snap of her head to the right, disregarding the pain in her skull, she finally acknowledged the figure soundly sleeping beside her. The blue bed sheet was draped up to his chin, his dark face looking peaceful with his eyes shut. To be frank, she found him beautiful.
But that didn’t change anything.
She had slept with him.
Of course she couldn’t remember the previous evenings events. She must have been drunk out of her mind. Which brought her to the conclusion of the unceasing headache. She groaned, rather loudly, and quickly covered her mouth. She looked over to the sleeping man beside her, hoping her sound was not loud enough to cause him to stir. She waited for at least a minute. After what felt like eternity, she decided he would not wake up, and sighed in relief. She stared at him for a while longer, wondering how in the world she could have ended up in this position.
How did they meet?
Why could she have agreed to be taken home?
Was he at least good?
Her mind yearned for answers, but the pounding did not help as she searched for any possible memory of the night before. Then a decision was made. She needed to leave.
She unwrapped herself from the, quite honestly, soft covers, her naked form disgusting her as she carefully moved a leg over the edge of the bed. The other soon followed, and slowly, she slid herself off of the bed.
Now. For the harder part. How to find her clothes as quickly and quietly as possible.
She headed straight to where she saw her bra, swiftly grabbing it from its hanging position and fastening it to her body. She looked to the rest of the room, noting the mess it was in. A pair of socks near her foot. A black shirt on the dresser. Blue boxers with small dragons on them lying near the foot of the bed. Then she noted her own pair of underwear, seeming to have been thrown on the lamp shade without a care. The only problem, it was right near the man on the bed, who she quite honestly did not want to wake at all.
She slowly tiptoed over, feeling as if each step was getting louder and louder the closer she approached. She stopped once she was right near him. She reached for her important article of clothing, carefully sliding it off without making a sound. She deemed herself successful when it was in hand, but forgot the small detail of the man beside her. He flipped his body to face where she was standing, her half naked self still presented in all of its glory. She released a small yelp from her mouth and quickly threw a hand over her lips in horrified surprise. She glanced down at him, seeing that he was still, in fact, asleep. Yet another sigh of relief was released as her hand slid down to her chest. And here, she could get a good look at the stranger.
He was what anyone would call the embodiment of “tall, dark, and handsome.” From what she could see from the parts of him that wasn’t covered with the blanket, he was fine as hell. A toned chest, arms that definitely showed his muscles, and the sharpest jawline she could ask for. His hair was long, but tamed, simply pulled back into a bun where an undercut was also visible. She noticed the small hole on each earlobe, noting the fact that he most likely wore earrings.
To say the least, she had no idea why she would run away from such a fine specimen. He was an ideal man that she would love to wake up to every morning. How she ended up tangled with him was a puzzle she still needed to piece together, but seeing him sleeping so peacefully made her think over her decision of leaving.
Perhaps staying wouldn’t be so bad. Maybe something could start between the two of them. Maybe, if she slid back into bed with him and he woke up, something could spark up. Obviously, it would start as an awkward encounter, but perhaps it could lead to something. Something real.
She stared for a few moments longer, a hand subconsciously reaching out to stroke the side of his face. Her index finger was only a few inches from his cheek when she retracted it. She sighed. She knew better than that. Knew better to not expect anything to come from this. They both were most likely too drunk to know what they were doing. They were strangers anyway. She didn’t even know his name. So how then could she stay? No. That’s why she knew she made the right decision. She had to leave before anything she didn’t want to encounter would jump out at her.
So, she quickly found the rest of her articles of clothing, each one seeming to be in a different room of the apartment. Her bag was thankfully hanging on a hook on the wall near the front door, all of her belongings thankfully accounted for. She slipped on her heels, opened the front door, and exited the apartment, leaving without a second glance.
~~~
Arriving home was the easy part, but entering… Now that would be hard. As a person who lived with a roommate, she would not be let off easy for staying at someone else's home. She didn’t want nor need her roommate to ask stupid questions, especially not while her brain was still a painful mess. But, once that front door was opened, dread already entered her system. She entered slowly, poking her head in first, then swung the door open to let herself in. She felt slightly better as she saw no sign of her roommate. Kicking off her painful heels, and placing her purse on the kitchen table, she smiled to herself in triumph in avoiding her roommate.
“What’chu smiling about?”
She jumped in shock, finding her roommate leaning against the stove with a coffee cup near her lips. An eyebrow was raised as well, waiting for an answer.
“Noth-nothing. I’m not smiling. Why would I--” A groan left her lips as a wave of pain re-entered her head. She raised a hand to rub at her forehead. Her eyes were squeezed shut. An annoyed sigh could be heard from her roommate. Then footsteps, a sound of a cabinet opening. Objects being moved around, and then the closing of the cabinet.
“Here.” She was handed a pill as she reopened her eyes, her roommate filling up a glass of water to also give her. She flushed down the pill gladly, hoping her headache could ease up with its help. “Geez (nickname), you really need to take care of yourself.” Her roommate sighed as she passed her to sit in the living room. (Nickname) followed, her water in hand.
“Yeah, yeah, I know, I know.” She sat across from her roommate, looking down into the glass.
“So. Are you gonna tell me or not?”
(Nickname) looked up to her roommate, who gave the same questioning look as before.
“Well, I mean, I would Ness, but….”
“But what?”
(Nickname) gulped.
“I don’t really know what happened myself.”
Ness shook her head in disbelief.
“Are you being serious right now (Name)? You got so drunk that you can’t even remember? I looked for you like crazy. I called you I don’t even know how many times. I worried about you, and now you’re telling me you can’t even remember where you went?”
(Name) looked back down at her glass, feeling ashamed, but allowing herself to start to get upset as well.
“You didn’t need to worry about me Nessa! I’m a big girl! I can make my own decisions, okay? And…” a snippet of the events from the night before flashed in her head, “and it’s not like you even cared about me when we were out!”
“Excuse me?”
“You were doing your own thing! You left me alone to dance, especially when you know I wasn’t in the mood to be there last night! So of course, I had a few drinks, and-and when that-that guy, when he offered me another drink, I couldn’t say no!”
“Yes you could’ve!”
“No! I really could not have.”
“And why not?!”
(Name) paused. She remembered the beautiful sleeping face of the man from earlier, then regained a blur of him from the night before.
“Because... He was the most attractive person I’d ever seen.”
She turned, her face filled with a look of wonder. The image of him was returning from last night. She recalled his smile being rather charming. And how his eyes contrasted his dark skin in the prettiest hue of aquamarine. And how his outfit accentuated his lean figure, giving off a sophisticated look that also left room for the imagination of what could be underneath. She remembered sitting alone at the bar, a hand holding her chin as the other circled the brim of her martini glass. He had politely asked if the seat beside her was taken, waiting before she nodded to sit. She had sat quietly for some time before he turned to her and asked if she would like another drink. Turning her head to him in confusion and blinking twice with large eyes, she responded with a rather awkward yes, receiving a chuckle from him. Showing his lovely smile.
With this short glimpse, she looked back to Nessa, who was leaning forward and looking at (name) as if she was trying her hardest to imagine what she was thinking. (Name)looked up at the ceiling, then back to her roommate, all the while opening and closing her mouth several times before she finally spoke.
“I’d never seen him before. We’ve been out so many times, that usually there is always the same type of uninteresting guys,” her eyes moved back to her glass, “But… he was different. He had this weird vibe. I noticed him when he first walked in, and just brushed him off, thinking he was definitely way out of my league. I mean, come on. Did you see him?”
(Name) returned to look at Nessa, who shook her head in response.
“No? Oh… well that’s beside the point. The point is, he looked like he was just another one of those arrogant assholes that always walk in a bar. The ones that are hoping to find some random dumbass chick who’ll be too ditzy to realize all they want is to get in your pants. But, that wasn’t how he was. You know what I mean?”
Another shake of the head.
Then an annoyed sigh from the hopeful party.
“He was different is what I mean. He didn’t just take the seat next to me like any other guy who didn’t want to pay me any mind. He was polite. He asked me. He waited for a response. And I was listening to his conversation with his friend,” -- Nessa shook her head in disapproval -- “and he didn’t sound like such a jerk. In fact, it seemed like he was uninterested in being there in general. Most guys are there to check out girls and to get slammed! But, he just sat there, sipping his drink. And then, he turned to me.”
She tucked her legs beside her, a slight smile playing on her lips as she traced the rim of her glass. She continued.
“He looked like he was bored,” -- she chuckled-- “but he asked if I wanted a drink. And it surprised me. And I guess my reaction was funny because I mean, he laughed. And, may I say, it was the nicest laugh I’ve ever heard.”
Nessa smiled at this with a shake of her head. She put her hand out in a stop motion.
“How is that even possible?”
“What?”
“It being ‘the nicest laugh you’ve ever heard’?”
(Name) covered her face from slight embarrassment. She laughed again.
“I don’t know!” she said, her voice becoming noticeably higher. She bit her lip. “It… It just was!”
“Okay, okay,” Nessa laughed. “Continue.”
“Okay. So… hmm,” she pressed her lips together in thought, trying her hardest to remember what happened after that. “Well, I mean, it’s obvious I got a drink. And…”
She looked to Nessa, her memory returning in slow glimpses.
“I remember him being incredibly sweet. We just sat there and talked for a while. I can’t remember what about… but I do remember him being rather funny, and frankly, I don’t think any guy made me laugh as much as he did.”
She smiled brightly, but was slowly replaced by a frown.
“And then, his friend insisted on leaving, saying something about being pretty tired. He did look extremely out of it, but it seemed like the guy I was with didn’t want to go… and I didn’t want him to either. So, he excused himself and left. And there I was alone.”
(Name) stopped. She changed her attention to the outside, the curtains just open enough to see the bustling of the city. Nessa’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“Then how did you end up with him?”
She slowly turned her head back to Nessa, but her eyes were still trained outside.
“I followed him out.”
Her eyes returned to Nessa.
“How? You said he left.”
“I sat there for a few minutes, contemplating on whether I should have gone or not. He did offer to take me home.”
“And he was still outside when you left?”
“Yeah… because he was waiting too. I guess he wanted me to follow… and I did.”
“And what about his friend?”
“I guess he got him a cab.”
“So… he just took you home?”
She paused. Then hummed in confirmation.
“Why?”
(Name) trained her eyes back to the outside, her face stoic as she absentmindedly continued to trace the rim of her glass.
“I don’t know. I was curious as to what he would do…”
Nessa’s eyes widened in horror. She opened her mouth to speak, but (name) beat her to it. She spoke quickly, just as fast as her head turned once again to Nessa.
“He took me home okay? I wanted him to. Sure, maybe I wasn’t in my right mind to make that decision, but I still went. And… he was sweet. Sure he took me home, but he made sure I was okay with everything he did…”
Then it all came flooding back.
There was the way their return to his home was almost silent, the soft sounds of lips tracing along different places on each other's faces and necklines. There was the way they exited their way of transportation, with hands wrapped tightly around the other as if either one let go, they would magically disappear. There was the way they entered his home, lips locked in such a passion that neither had ever experienced before. There was the difficulty to stay sane, with the warmth that they both emitted calling loudly to them in hopes of exiting their clothing as soon as possible. Then, there was the softness that they experienced as they explored each other, tender touches that were placed with each word of sweet praise. And to top it all, there was not only the lovely feeling of being at the top of the world, but there was warmth and the feeling of calmness as they laid in each others arms. Even with no strings attached, and knowing they were nothing to the other, there was still the feeling of closeness, and the slight tinge of what could be a grasp of love.
All of this was rushing into (name)’s mind, but there was no way she could express this to her friend. She realized that this was hers, and perhaps she would keep it that way. And perhaps she might never see the beautiful stranger that she spent a lovely night with again, but that would not stop her from hoping. She would never regret what she did, because if she did, she would have to live with that burnden for the rest of her life, and perhaps keeping it as something she found wonderful was the best thing she could ask for.
“Look, it’s okay. I’ve done this before --”
“I know you’ve done this before! And you really shouldn’t!”
(Name) sighed. She looked to Nessa with a slight look of sadness.
“Yeah. I know. Don’t you think I know that? It’s just -- It’s hard. No one ever seems to care about me. I can’t ever find anyone to care. But--but this time was different! I--I know it was. He was different. Out of all the guys I’ve found myself with, he was the one who seemed like he cared the most. He was soft and only did what I was comfortable with, and he was so sweet and...” -- Nessa’s expression softened, a look of pity now etched onto her features -- “...and maybe I’m wrong! Maybe… maybe you’re right! Maybe he was just using me. Acting like he was wonderful just to get what he wanted…” she gasped, looking away as her eyes glossed over. “Oh geez. Why am I so stupid?”
Her hand flung to her face, as she started to cry. It hurt her more than anything to see that not only had she been played, but that she had always been playing herself. All the times she found herself in someone else’s bed made the feeling of loneliness grow more and more. She knew she didn’t need anyone to please her, but she wanted something. Something real. Not just something that lasted only a night. And this, this thought only made her cry even harder.
As for Nessa, the growing pity grew within her. She had no idea how to comfort her because she knew deep down that she could never understand what her friend really wanted. She could never grasp the empty feeling that lay inside her. The only way of comfort she knew was to sit beside her and let her cry. A soothing hand was placed on her shoulders, and she waited for her to calm a bit.
“I’m sorry (nickname),” she finally mustered to say, “I know that you feel like this, but I don’t think you should worry about it too much. Don’t you remember? You’re a strong, independent girl who don’t need no man. So…”
Her words trailed into nothingness. She knew she wouldn’t be able to say anything else that would help. Only time could tell what (name) would do next, and honestly it frightened her. She didn’t want her friend to do anything irrational. She didn’t want her to make a decision that could lead to something she didn’t want. She cared about her too much. And so, with all the love she had for her, she decided to put it upon herself to help her out. To give her someone she herself could approve of. But… who?
~~~
It had been a few weeks since that morning. A few weeks since (name) had cried over the realization of her loneliness. A few weeks since Nessa decided to take it upon herself to find someone sufficient for (name)’s needs.
It was easy enough finding people for her, as being a gym leader led to knowing a lot of people. She had set (name) up with the leader of Turrfield, her close friend Milo. She knew his sweet nature would perhaps draw some interest out of her roommate, but with one date, it seemed she was not keen to approve. Nessa had no idea why of course but… that was because she thought she didn’t. She did, however, secretly know (name) wouldn’t settle unless she knew the guy she had spent that night with was completely gone from her life. It also didn’t help that she had no idea what his name was, or how she could find him. So, the only way to help her forget about him, was to find someone new. Someone who could give her something she wanted.
Nessa had tried several times to no avail, setting (name) up with some of her other gym leader friends that she knew. Apparently Gordie was much too overbearing and cocky, while Piers was too shy and soft spoken. Nessa even was able to get her a date with the unbeatable champion himself, but it seemed as if she was as uninterested in him as she was in the rest.
Nessa was bound to give up, until Leon reminded her of the other eligible gym batchelor. Even if she did remember the dragon tamer, she wasn’t sure if she was all too crazy with allowing her best friend to go out with someone like Raihan. Sure, she knew he was extremely sweet, but the feral way he battles has always rubbed her the wrong way. Sure, that’s just his style, and maybe she shouldn’t judge, but she wasn’t sure. Nonetheless, she had to try once more, at least for her friend.
“Hey (nickname), so I was thinking… maybe you can give Raihan a shot?” Nessa asked. The two were stationed in the kitchen, (name) sitting on the counter being completely unproductive while Nessa prepared dinner for the evening.
“No.”
Nessa spun quickly, probably the fastest she’s ever turned before.
“No? Why not!?”
“Because I don’t want to. I’m tired of all the people you’ve been setting me up with,” she sighed, and jumped off of the counter, “maybe I’ll just go back to the bar and drown my sorrows… and maybe make another bad decision to hook up with some rando. That always makes me feel better.”
The sarcasm was thick in her voice. It made Nessa cringe at the thought.
“Please. Don’t do that.”
(Name) waved her hand in dismissal.
“Yeah, yeah. I know. I won’t… not now at least.”
She opened the fridge, looking for nothing in particular, then closed it again.
“(Name).”
A snicker.
“I’m serious though. Give Raihan a shot. You might like him.”
“Oh like how I ‘might like’ the other guys you set me up with? Yeah no thanks.”
“(Nickname), you didn’t even give them a chance!”
“Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t. Why should it matter?” -- she returned to her seat on the counter -- “You’re curry’s burning.”
Nessa gasped, turning back to the stove to turn it off. She shook her head then continued to speak.
“Look. If you go out with him, I promise I’ll stop. If you don’t like him then that’s the end. I’ll admit defeat, and call it the end of me helping you with your dating life. But don’t come crying to me when you find yourself in another situation that won’t lead you to something you want.”
She looked back for an answer, finding (name) picking at her fingernails.
“Fine. I’ll go.”
~~~
By the next day, (name) found herself sitting alone at the Hulbury Seafood Restaurant, glancing out of the glass windows at the harbor below. It was a lovely view. The sky was clear save a few clouds, and the lighthouse looked as nice as always. Even Nessa’s gym could be seen in all of its glory. The boats at doc bobbed up and down, and the quiet, uninteresting view made the staring outside rather boring. She sighed, placing her hand under her chin to hold it up. She had been waiting for a while now, and felt that this Raihan guy was probably never coming. She was just about to slide out of her seat when she heard a slightly familiar voice.
“Mind if I sit?”
She moved her head to face the voice, and just like that her eyes grew wide and her heart began to race. She swallowed, nodded, a shy chuckle coming from the man as he sat across from her.
“Sorry, I’m so late… I just…. Um….”
He stared at her for a few moments, not knowing how to continue. There was an awkward air about them, but she finally spoke.
“S-so… you’re Raihan… right?”
“Yeah…. And you’re…. (name)?’
“Yeah…”
Another long pause. Both eyes looking elsewhere.
“Why did you leave?”
She looked back to him.
“Huh?”
“You know what I mean….”
She looked at him with her eyebrows knit together, feigning confusion just to see how he would continue. He sighed, and ran a hand across his face. He looked outside again, trying his best to hide his embarrassment.
“I-I mean, I woke up and you, well I mean you weren't there, and… gosh I’m so sorry,” he apologized with his hands covering his face. It was silent for a moment, then she let out a laugh.
“It’s… okay. It’s not your fault. I was the one --”
“But it is my fault. I shouldn’t have taken advantage of you like that. I… well I mean, I knew you were drunk but I still took you home with me and I knew I shouldn’t have, but you were just so amazing so I figured how could I not. But then I saw that you left and wondered why and then I realized you must have been so confused and --”
Another laugh. He stopped. His face was even more red than before.
“Look it’s really okay. It’s not your fault. I went along ---”
“But I insisted --”
“You did no such thing. I--”
“But I did!”
“No you did not! You left me remember? I followed you on my own accord.”
He opened his mouth again, but stopped. He looked off in thought, then his eyes widened in realization.
“Yeah but that’s because I waited for you…”
She shook her head.
“And I followed because I wanted you.”
Silence.
They both just stared at the other. Then he spoke.
“You did?”
A nod.
He smiled.
“Y’know, you’ve been stuck in my head for I don’t know how long. I mean, when I first met you, I thought you were something, but then when we were together? You-- I--I just found you so wonderful and --”
“You did?”
“Huh? Um… yeah…”
Another pause. He looked embarrassed again.
“I thought you were too…”
“You… did?”
She hummed in response, then continued to say, “And… aha, and that’s why I went with you… because I found you so confusingly different, that I had to… um stay with you.”
“Then why did you leave?”
The initial question had returned. This time, it was easy to respond.
“Because…. I was scared. How was I supposed to know you felt the same way? That’s why--”
“That’s why you should have stayed.”
She stared at him for a moment.
“Don’t you think I wanted to? I really did. But, I mean, how was I supposed to know? I was in someone else’s room, and… it scared me. So I panicked. And I saw you, someone I didn’t know, and my head was pounding and --”
“No, you’re right. I’m sorry. I should have expected that. I just really hoped it wouldn’t, and it ended up happening. And it does make sense because, it is true that we don’t know each other. Like, at all…” he said, softly. He slowly reached out and grabbed her hand, holding it tenderly in his. “So…. why don’t we start over. And maybe we can get to know each other properly this time?”
She looked to their intertwined hands, feeling the same sort of heat that she felt all those weeks ago. She smiled.
“I would love to.”
