first off, for people reading, here’s an example of what anon is talking about!

the eye makeup is writing in high terran. high terran is one of the two main languages on terra, the other being low terran; there is also a collection of less widely spoken different languages, many of which low terran has bits and pieces from. low terran is a creole language formed from several others, which most people speak, and high terran is a language that’s heavily regulated by the capital and characterized by being something that largely only the upper classes speak. dr carmilla herself, in character, is not fluent in high terran, which leads to her makeup often including misspellings or incorrect words.

occasionally her makeup is low terran; an example of this is below.

maki has said carmilla writing in high terran was ‘[trying] to blend in with the fancies’; the reason for her writing on her face in makeup at all is unknown, and quite possibly it’s just an oddity of hers, though it is worth knowing that canonically dr carmilla wears an eyepatch and lost an eye at one point, though both her eyes are currently functioning so it’s likely she has a robot eye or similar.

Dragons are extraordinarily good mimics, escaping human predation by disguising themselves as common airliners, some even going so far as to sport crude copies of carrier logos. This makes them difficult to track, though most sources agree that the dragon population is critically endangered.

While there has been some success with halting large-scale dragon hunting, conservationists are still concerned about a recent spate of crashes in otherwise healthy adults.

Given that dragons communicate via radio signals and that most crashes occur near military radar stations, it is theorized that the radar may be disorienting the dragons. Investigations are still ongoing.
