It's been four years since Sigil was found on the outskirts of Volcano Rock City by Austin, Muse and Jace, and he's started to trust them and get comfortable around them. Apparently though their colors have started to return, or at least kind of, but it's enough to throw them into an emotional whirlwind. Immediately after this the three rock trolls did their best to console Sigil, even if they don't fully understand the situation just yet.

I had this idea, so take it while I work on trying to do a comic of Sigil's backstory. Like this is kinda a portion of his backstory, but more just a kinda silly thing.

I've made some refs for Sigil's band members, I'm genuinely very happy with how they came out, even if it took me a couple days, cuz I hate lining art, plus I decided to draw a fuckin drum set for Jace's ref. I fucking can't with myself, post 4am decisions are totally fun./s

The main reason why Jace's has a drum set though is just cause I wanted to show what part of the band each of them are. Jace is the drummer, Muse is the guitarist, Austin is the bassist, and Sigil is the vocalist...But fuck drum sets are a fucking pain to draw. Also also I'm so fucking happy with the name I came up with for their band, it's on the bass drum of Jace's drum set, "Troll 'N Crossbones," I love plays on words, and i just fucking loved this one.

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

I bring a few more OCs I have made, they're all Sigil's band members. I'm very excited to show them off, I'm genuinely loving their designs.

I'm listing them off by age order.

Muse (Long Haired Troll) - 43 y/o Austin (White Haired Troll) - 39 y/o Jace [Full name is Jason] (Red Haired Troll) - 34 y/o Sigil - 28 y/o

Muse and Austin are married and are having a kid together, and I fucking suck at coming up with names, it took me like I think 10 minutes naming each of these guys. So if anyone wants to offer up names for their egg I'll gladly take suggestions, preferably gender neutral ones since it is undecided if the child will be male for female.

Also! - Muse is genderfluid, they don't give a fuck what pronouns someone calls him by. - Jace is trans male, he/him pronouns for him. - Austin is cis male he/him pronouns for him as well.

I'll do my best to work on their stories as well, but Sigil is my main guy, so he will be my main focus.

Also Bruce Jr.'s supposed to be doing that hand signal thing, of like cut it out y'know, like I dunno how to explain it, but that's what it's supposed to be.

Sigil remembers watching his parents get taken away by the chef bergen, watching as they tried to escape their clutches, as tears ran down his face, and all color drained from his body.

This is one of Sigil's earliest memories, as it's one of the most painful, they hate remembering it and often times try to repress it.

A small but important piece of information: Sigil has not always been his name, he changed their name from Sprig to Sigil in the future. However, I plan to add writing to the drawings, or even just post writing pieces, and they'll be more of like flashbacks, so both the name Sprig and Sigil will be in them just so you know.

Rather than working on the backstory drawing, I instead drew up a design for Sigil's beetle bike Axl. And might I say, it's very hard finding reference images for these things, cuz the only one on the wiki has Riff in focus, and the beetle bike is in the back and blurry, and I just was going crazy trying to find references. But I'm really liking this design, so over all I'm happy.

I come to bring the Brozone...minus Floyd. I was gonna draw him, but I was losing room on the canvas. But yeah, I also plan in the future to do the details of Branch's and Bruce's vests better, especially Bruce's. But I'm really happy with how they came out, it was very much fun drawing Clay and Branch mimicking his dance moves.

Just a quick lil thing that's a part of Sigil's story. It's kinda this nebulous of backstory and present time story, since it's like right as he got captured (which I more or less have categorized as his backstory,) but leads to him actively being in the sibling's clutches and all that in the present and stuff. It's a lil confusing but I'll work to explain it more later.

I've planned for art of their backstory to be worked on first before I start working on art of their present story, but I just wanted to draw this rn cuz I thought it was a neat idea.

If anyone were to have told me that in 2024 I'd be a big fan of Trolls to the point that I've made an oc, I prolly wouldn't've believed them. But here we are.

This is Sigil, they're a Pop/Rock Troll...kinda. They're really a Pop Troll who became grey, and had technically found Volcano Rock City, and had lived there for almost a decade. He's roughly 28 years old, and has been grey for about 24 years.

I have a whole ass backstory for this dude already alright, I was not ready for this when Tumblr decided to show me Trolls fanart. I've dove too deep, but I'm not complaining.
