Revival!
Hey everyone! I’m Jay/Anna! Just wanted to do a quick update to let you all know that we’re planning to revive this project! Things have changed over the last few years, but this is a work that’s really important that we come back to. Expect more posts about what we plan to do moving forward.
For now:
We’re open for asks! If you have any questions about asteroids, astrology, and polytheism, please feel free to send someting in! We’ll do our best to give answers as we can and/or direct you to appropriate resources.
Feel free to submit or tag us in your stories! We really want to encourage people to share their personal experiences with their deities/deities they’re interested in and their personal placements. It’s always a blast to read and hear about how things are similar and different between practitioners.
Looking forward to connecting and hearing from everyone!

Your Invitation to our Asteroid Interpretation Workshop!
Tumblr media
Hi all! A little over one week from today we’ll be kicking off our second hosting of our asteroid interpretation workshop, beginning July 15th, 2020 PST. If you’ve ever wondered how to interpret the deity asteroids in your chart, this workshop is specifically designed to help you determine how an asteroid placement shapes your relationship with the deity in question.
This is a five day, go-at-your-own pace workshop — meaning that we post daily but we don’t keep a set schedule, so you don’t have to worry about keeping odd hours if you’re busy or in another time zone. Each day has a general prompt, and some days have additional individualized prompts, tailored to your own experiences!
The workshop is open to all — regardless of your prior knowledge of astrology, and regardless of what pantheon you interact with (including those of you who may identify as Christian and want to look at the asteroids of saints, and those who work exclusively with the Roman pantheon and would be examining planets). Additionally, if you haven’t yet worked with a deity but are curious how your relationship with them might look, you can explore that through this medium!
This is a recurring workshop, but spots are limited — due to the personalized touches, we aim to keep the group fairly small each time at 10 maximum available spots. First come, first serve, so join the server today if you’re interested and head over to the important-updates channel to reserve your spot. Anyone who doesn’t make it in for this workshop will be placed on a shortlist for the next! Hope to see you soon 💫✨

Greetings! I thought y'all might like to know that asteroids Dionysus and Bacchus are currently conjunct and traveling together in Aries. The transit started on May 19, 2020 when they both hit 0 degrees Aries (the degree of the spring equinox.) They will start to separate on June 4th at 16 degrees Aries. They were both conjunct Chiron on the 26th. Exciting times! Happy stargazing!
What a crazy random happenstance! That is, though, in all honestly absolutely fascinating! I know we have at least two people here who work with one or both of them. Thanks for the heads’ up.

Just found out about your project via TechnoCoven, and I wanted to chime in with a quick thing!!! I'm a Demonolatress, and I was very pleased to see that Leviathan, one of my patrons, has an asteroid. My natal Leviathan is less than a degree conjunct with my Mars, and opposition to my Moon. This is so interesting to me, as Leviathan is often seen as one who helps with emotions. I'm not quite sure how to interpret it, but it took my breath away.
Hi there! Thank you so much for reaching out to us with your insight, and I’m delighted to hear that you found us through the convention!
It’s very interesting to hear about a “pantheon” which hasn’t been touched in our project before, so thank you for sharing your aspects! If you would like to talk it over in more detail/interpret it better, please feel free to reach out to us again or join our discord server to chat about it with the community! We would love to hear your interpretation of how Leviathan the asteroid and the patron has affected your life.
I am especially interested that you have a conjunction and an opposition. Lots of interesting and conflicting energies for you to work with there; better understanding them might help you better understand your work with Leviathan, so I hope you take us up on your offer! Our lead astrologist @hermeticimp would be able to help you a lot with your chart, and our lead polytheist @grimnirslee is a bit of a poet when it comes to explaining these relationships.
Thanks again, and take care!

I have often a gut feeling that Mega-Brain is my patron deity (I relate to him so much!). He’s Widget’s bff, but his primary function is of being his assistant… Mega-Brain is a Brain Unit: an artificially created race of sentient computers for data mining to the Watchers. Unfortunately, he didn’t passed the quality control tests with flying colours as he would often mess up the information he would dispense (a clear analogy of neuro-atypical disabilities; I’m autistic btw). Nevertheless, Mega-Brain is often seen enjoying various activities beyond simply informing others: inventing contraptions is one of them. He has the neat ability to “summon” objects from his dimension into our’s out of thin air, but this might just be also the ability to manifest objects at will from his own imagination too (this is up for interpretation).
I feel that Brain Units are liminal entities: they usually live in a holographic dimension which is accessed through the Brain Unit’s wristwatch (the parallels with humans and daemons in His Dark Materials is somewhat like this: the Brain Unit itself is consisted of 2 parts technically). When entities which are not Brain Units try to enter the Brain Unit dimension through the wristwatch, they’re victims of an odd phenomenon where their heads is separated from their bodies in a non-gruesome way.
Since there’s no direct asteroids named after him, the closest one I could find was Cerebrito [484613]; a Spanish slang for “brainy”.
It looked like that this asteroid directly conjuncts my Pluto in 6th Scorpio. They both square my MC in Aquarius too. Although that this aspect isn’t shown with Cerebrito, Pluto is in sextile with Neptune in 8th Capricorn.

Hello! Asteroids of the Gods, here.
The last panelist was actually @grimnirslee (we didn’t manage to update our listing, oops) but we are all so happy to hear that you enjoyed our panel! I hope you keep an interest in our project and are able to contribute to it in the future.
As to the technical difficulties, we do hope to have a transcript and a recording up by the end of the weekend, which should help fill some gaps! (They may not match - the transcript will... likely be neater.)
TechnoCoven Witchcraft Convention Day 1
Tumblr media
The first thing that happened when the convention opened at 9:00 AM on the first day of @technocoven 2020 was that all of the people that had entered the ticketbooth channel prior to the event had to be assigned roles that would designate what parts of the convention they would be able to navigate. I opened up the discord right when the convention opened because I also start work at 9, and my first thought was Oh my gosh, this is chaos.
At first, I was concerned that they needed a better system in place for assigning roles because there were more than 300 people in the ticketbooth, but the mods got through it quickly in a way that very authentically captured the fast-paced chaos of entering a convention and getting things like hand stamps and wristbands. I’m not sure if this was intentional, but it was cathartic how realistic it felt.
From there, people dispersed throughout the server, enjoying the virtual common areas and vendor channels. Because I’m working at the same time, I didn’t spend too much time in those areas, but it was obvious that the community was coming together in a really wonderful way.
I think the first day of the convention went really well, and I’m enthusiastic about the rest of the weekend based on what I saw/listened to. If you’re on the fence or haven’t joined the server yet, I would definitely recommend dropping in to at least look at the panels. There’s bound to be one that is useful for your craft, and even if they aren’t, as you’ll see in my reviews below, they’re all pretty unique and interesting.
The Events
After each event that I attended, I wrote a brief review of the panel/ritual/activity etc. to share with you all. I will place these below the cut, so that this post isn’t too long in your feeds. With the title of each event, I also tagged the presenter/guide, so that you can see what else they do!

Astrology 101: Aspects
Conjunction
A conjunction is an angle of 0°, this means that the two planets or points involved were in one line as seen from the earth. Their energies merge together, they are blended. One planetary theme is involuntarily linked with the other, they become an inseperable unit. Expressing one psychological aspect without the other is almost impossible, because they are linked in and intricate way. That is why the conjunction can be both inharmonic or harmonic, depending on the planets involved; some work well together, others - not so much.
Opposition
An opposition is an angle of 180°, which indicates that the points forming this aspect are facing each other, opposite of each other. Although this does create a conflict, a constant back and forth of opposites that seem to not go together, the scale that dips from one side to another can eventually find a balance. This is still a big challenge, though, and that’s why it is usually considered a inharmonic aspect.
Square
A square is an angle of 90° and considered inharmonic. Planets that form this aspect together are usually at complete cross-purpose and their themes are really hard to combine, because they want completely different things and frequently butt heads. It’s like two cars driving into a cross-street in a 90° angle to each other and then crashing because they didn’t see each other. These planets themes are very hard to combine and they usually show as painful experiences and feelings.
Trine
A trine is an angle of 120° that usually happens between signs of the same element. This indicates things that come very naturally and easily, they’re a talent you’re born with. The planets energies flow harmoniously together and the benefits can be used easily. It comes so naturally, that people often aren’t aware of these strengths and talents and that they aren’t used as much and as constructively as they could be.
Sextile
A sextile is an angle of 60° that usually occurs between two planets of the same polarity but differrent elements. This means that there is creative and positive potential slumbering that can either be used or not. Its a harmonious aspect like the trine, but usually less strong and not as obvious and evident.

Hekate Asteroid:My journey
Tumblr media
Hello All!
~Asteroid Hekate 100 ~
My journey with Hekate has been a budding one as I am continuing to discover new things about her every time I study her. She is quite the wonder and mystery. Her identity to me is like a puzzling anomaly, but it’s like she has everything figured out. She has spoken to me through others and given me great insight. I am someone who doesn’t like to commit to something if it deals with a great deal of offering of energy. However, I feel drawn to her every time I have thoughts or see posts about her it makes me want to find more about her. I feel we are still on in this journey together, but I also must keep in mind she is a very busy goddess and I feel it is fleeting.
Origin of Goddess: Asia Minor, Eastern Europe, Mesopotamia( 5th Century )
Asteroid Discovered: July 11, 1868 by James Craig Watson.
Her symbolisms are usually associated with keys, snakes, Black dogs(she-dogs), owls, Lit Torches, Wheel, The night, Nightshade( other poisonous plants), dark moon, crossroads and among other things magic(necromancy, shadow work, spirit work).
Her affiliation ties are with the Triple Goddess, Bringer of Light, Underworld, Cerberus, Nyx, Demeter, Persephone, Zeus, Circe, Medea, Black Moon Lilith, Asteria, Titanes Perses, and Hecuba.
The asteroid Hekate 100 is in my 7th house Gemini -
-Trines my Natal Uranus in 3rd house
-Opposite My Chiron 1st house
-Trine my Natal Juno 3rd house
: Spiritually harmonious relationship, Asking others for guidance when hitting rock bottom, strong partnership, may be a source to ask for help in partnerships, help to heal and confront wounds( source of personal pain), exorcise personal demons, communication is key!, ?
These are my gathered thoughts from research and study!
Please feel free to give your insight of aspects and purpose of placements!!

This project is designed to help us answer that question! Originally a joint effort between Ada Pembroke and L. E. Lífþrasir, it has since evolved into a community effort to collect as many stories about interactions with your deities from across the globe as we possibly can!
All content in this Quick Start Guide is available online anywhere you can find us, and has been created by members of the tumblr blog moderation team. Credit is given.
If you have any questions, please feel free to either drop this blog an ask, or contact the Lead Polytheist @grimnirslee or the Lead Astrologer @hermeticimp.

For personal reasons, one of the founding members of The Asteroids of the Gods Project is stepping down and leaving it in the hands of @grimnirslee. We are not able to go into these issues at the time, but we hope that you will join us all in wishing Ada a happy and healthy immediate future.
What does this mean for the project?
Nothing is really changing. Lee is still very invested in it as Lead Polytheist and we both firmly believe that @hermeticimp is more than skilled enough to step up as Lead Astrologist. Our little tumblr team will also be hard at work reblogging your experiences and answering your questions.
In these trying times we ask for your patience and your good will. We sincerely hope that everyone takes the time to focus on self-care, self-love and the pursuit of happy and healthy lives. Be strong, witchblr.

how would you recommend interpreting aspects between different deity asteroids? is there significance to that?
This is something we haven’t explored too much in the project yet, and I’m not aware of it as something that’s been explored by astrologers much in general, so you’re on the cutting edge of astrology thinking about that with us, Anon.
The first thing I’d look at is: Are the aspects easy (sextile, trine, conjunction) or hard (square, opposition, quincunx)? Easy aspects might mean that their goals are easily aligned, that they’d work well together in your life. Difficult aspects might indicate a difficult relationship or conflict of interest.
I believe we’ve run into an instance or two on the project where this has worked out literally in a person’s relationship with their Gods, but it’s a question worth exploring further for sure.
-Ada
I know my husband, @an-avaar-skald-and-bearsark, has some aspects between different asteroids that I would like to look at more closely. I think Sif and Loke are both conjunct one of his planets, so in theory they might have an aspect with one another, too.
In this situation from a polytheist POV rather than an astrological POV I would think about what those deities have in common and what their relationship is, and then hold it up to the light of your life and see if you can find a common thread. For example, Odin in a trine with Loki would fit their common “two man grift” relationship quite nicely and you might want to assess if they’re working together in some aspect of your existence.

hi, i noticed that the deity i’m devoted to is trine my mars and square my north node, and i was wondering if you had any tips on how to interpret that or work with those aspects?
So it depends a lot on who the deity is and what they stand for. I’ll let Ada add on an explanation of the astrological side of things. But from the polytheist side, you want to take a look at what archetypes and themes said deity has. For example, I’m in the middle of writing up my thoughts on the aspects Tyr has on my chart, focusing on the fact that I see him as a God of Justice. So when I’m thinking about how the asteroid relates to my life, I’m considering my sense of duty vs. feelings/intuition.
A good place to look is stories about the deity in question. Are they a “God of X”? Does one story about them really jump out to you as something that you can relate to? What role do they already play in your life? A lot of this analysis is about telling a story - how the god interacts with you, as well as with the aspects of yourself that the planets represent.
- Lee
The thing that sticks out to me about that placement is the square to the north node. In evolutionary astrology, planets square the nodes represent unresolved issues from a past life. Jeff Green calls them “skipped steps,” places where you need to fall back and do some remedial work before you can move forward--like having to go to summer school.
Without seeing the rest of your chart but with Mars involved, I wonder if you have some unresolved issues with motivation, aggression, or abuse that your patron might be trying to help you with. Things that might have their roots in past life issues, perhaps?
Let us know if that resonates, and feel free to jump on the server and get somebody to look at your chart: https://discord.gg/d53kV84

for a deity that has two asteroids under two of their name variations, how would you go about deciding which to interpret or how would you interpret them together? for example how odin has the odin asteroid and the asteroid named wodan as well
Ada would probably have something to say about which one has the more important aspects, but I would like to add that Odin is a god with many hats and faces and masks and names. I personally believe that while Odin = Wodan, they’re also such distinctly different aspects of him that you could practically consider them to be two different deities. So I, personally, would look at both asteroids if one isn’t immediately leaping out at you, as well as considering the different roles Odin plays as a Norse deity and Wodan plays as a Germanic one.
- Lee
I don’t disagree with anything Lee said. If it makes sense to you and resonates for you, go with that.
Personally, I tend to be more of a syncretist than Lee when it comes to astrological questions (sorry Lee). The ancients said Venus = Aphrodite = Ishtar = Inanna astrologically. When a God is represented more than once, I tend to see those planets/asteroids as aspects of that God’s character that come together to create a (more) complete picture.
But neither of us knows your birth chart as well as you do (sorry Lee), and the astrology community doesn’t have anything remotely resembling a consensus on the question, so you tell us? Do either of these approaches make sense to you? Or some combination of the two? Or neither?
Hearing about your experience would help us a lot.
-Ada
