You plop down on a stool at the kitchen counter, contemplating even answering the door.

First of all, it could just be a package. If anything, they’ll leave it at the door. No need for human interaction.

Second of all, you don’t want to answer the door. The only thing that can happen is the person at the door will keep ringing the doorbell or knocking, but eventually, they’ll leave.

Lastly, it could be Corpse. Corpse jokes around all the fucking time, but who’s to say he’s joking now? He lives in San Diego, and for all you know, he could live five minutes away from you. He did say he’s literally here.

Snapping you out of your thoughts, the doorbell rings. You get up to look through the peephole, making sure it’s not someone trying to rob you.

A tall, broad figure stands there, their head down. Their hair is dark and curly, fluffy too. They’re holding a small gift bag in their left hand, their right hand still on the doorbell. You look down to their hoodie, and your heart drops to your ass...

Slowly, you unlock the door, opening it up just a bit.

A deep chuckle rumbles from his chest, leaving you speechless. “I won’t rob you, Y/N.”

You open the door all the way, letting him in. You’d be your bubbly, outgoing self right now, but there was nothing that could’ve had you prepared enough for Corpse standing at your apartment door.

“Uh- sorry, I just didn’t expect this.” You gesture for him to sit on the stool next you.

“This is for you.” He passes the small gift bag to you.

“Corpse, I swear, if you wasted a shit ton of money on me...” You slowly open the bag, not wanting that to be the case.

Getting the small jewelry box out, you give him a stern look. He nods his head, urging you to open it faster. Finally, you open it. There’s a frog ring in it. Corpse puts his hand over the box and you see the matching one on his finger.

Honestly, the fact that he remembered the short interaction you guys had about frog rings means a lot to you - more than the gift itself.

“Can I give you a hug?” You ask him. He opens his arms, standing up from the stool. You jump into his arms, almost knocking him over. Corpse wraps his arms around you, radiating warmth and you feel safe in them.

Rae and Brooke walk in. Of course you’d forget to lock the door.

“Okay, wow! Hey, Corpse!” Rae places the bags of snacks down, Brooke following suit behind her.

Awkwardly, you and Corpse stop hugging. He rubs the back of his neck, looking down at his shoes. Cute.

The fact that right now all of you are laughing your asses off, telling stories, talking about anything, and just getting through the night so quickly, it’s crazy. It’s crazy how comfortable everyone is with each other. You honestly thought it would take you a while to get used to Corpse being here, but you don’t want him to leave.

You guys have gotten through bottles of alcohol and now you’re all tired, completely worn out from all the laughing. Brooke and Rae head to bed.

“Thank you for having me, Y/N.” Before Corpse can get up from the couch, you stop him.

Slightly giggling, you hold him back. “You’re not driving drunk, dumbass.”

He sighs, leaning back into the couch. You watch as his eyes get heavier, his breathing becoming even.

“Come on,” While you are a lot smaller than he is, you still do your best to walk him to your room. You hold his arm around your shoulder, practically carrying him.

After what feels like ages, you reach your room. You carefully place him on your bed, letting him get comfortable.

“I didn’t bring any extra clothes.” Corpse slurs, opening his eyes slightly, only to be blinded by the lights in your room.

You burst into a fit of laughter as he covers his eyes quickly, complaining about how bright it is. You turn the lights off, leaving only your fairy lights on.

“You don’t need extra clothes, Corpse. Just go to sleep.” You grab a blanket from your closet.

Corpse opens his eyes fully. “Where are you going?”

“To the living room.”

“No, stay here.” He lifts up the blanket that had been placed on top of him, scooting over to create space.

You shake your head, “Corpse, I’ll be okay.”

“But I won’t be. Stay, please?” He juts out his bottom lip, and that might just be the cutest thing he’s ever done.

Knowing he’s drunk and that once he wakes up, he’ll forget any of this happened, you decide to get in next to him. He wraps an arm around your waist, pulling you closer to him. Honestly, you’d do anything to be able to experience this every night.

Maybe it’s just your drunk thoughts and feelings...

“Sooo,” Brooke drawls. She sits cross-legged in front of you, Rae lays her head in your lap. “What’s going on between you and Corpse?” She wiggles her eyebrows, causing you and Rae to giggle.

“Nothing?” You can’t hide the smile that plays on your lips.

Rae turns her head so she’s facing you now. “Oh, I’m so sure.”

“Okay, okay, well, I was texting him while you guys were getting snacks, and we kind of talked about him moving in with me.” You admit. Their eyes widen, they’re getting ready to squeal, but before they can, you shush them.

“What do you mean ‘kind of?’” Brooke asks.

You’re not even sure yourself. You take almost everything you and Corpse talk about as a joke. The feeling might be mutual. You doubt that Corpse thinks anything you say isn’t in a joking manner.

That point made, you weren’t joking about him moving in with you. You feel like it’ll be fun living with him. You two get along in a nice, playful way. You both live in San Diego, and it’d be fairly easy for you two just to move in with each other.

You’ve also been wanting to meet Corpse for a while. There’s a lot that needs to be planned, especially when it’s you two meeting. Corpse, well, you don’t know how he looks and you want him to be one-hundred percent comfortable with meeting you. And you, well, of course, the mental breakdowns and panic attacks.

Corpse makes you feel comfortable though. You feel like you’re most yourself when talking to him, maybe even more than you are with Alex, Clay. Karl, and George. Not to say the friendship between you and Corpse is any better, but you two just get along so easily.

“I mean, I don’t know. We joke around a lot, maybe he was joking about moving in with me.” You explain.

“Do you want him to move in with you?” Rae asks, twirling the ends of your hair around her finger.

You shrug, “Yeah, I feel like it’d be fun.”

“Maybe you two should talk about it.” Brooke suggests. “I doubt he’s joking.”

“What do you mean?” You ask, furrowing your eyebrows.

Brooke shake her head, “Are you that oblivious to the things he says? He’s so flirty with you, there’s no way he doesn’t actually like you.”

“You’re fucking crazy.” You laugh.

“If she’s crazy, then so am I.” Rae says. “Go talk to him.”

“Right now?” Rae nods her head. “It’s our girl time...”

Brooke gets up, grabs your arm, and pulls you to your room, Rae following suit. “It’s fine, we have the rest of the night.”

After lots of arguing, and eventually you losing the argument, you call him. Corpse answers within the first few rings.

“Whaddup, baby.” Corpse greets.

“Hi,” You greet shyly. You’re rarely nervous about talking to him, but asking him about something pretty serious, you’re nerves get the best of you. “I have a question...”

“Is everything okay?” You can’t ignore the worry lacing his voice when he asks. A warm feeling builds in your stomach as you smile to yourself.

“Everything’s fine, but I just wanted to ask if you actually wanted to move in with me.” You feel your face getting hot, the heat rushing up to your ears.

Corpse chuckles, “I’m down, but only if I get to sleep in your bed.”

You shake your head, “And I said that’s fine, I’ll sleep ok the comfy bed in the guest bedroom.”

“No,” He laughs, the laugh you never want to stop listening to. “With you.”

“I’ll probably end up kicking you off the bed.” You warn, earning more laughs from Corpse.

He takes a deep breath, “On a serious note, yes, I’ll move in with you.”

Butterflies erupt in your stomach when he answers. You’re excited, but nervous as well? Either way, you think it’ll be fun.

You both say goodbye, and you go back to Rae and Brooke.

You pace around your apartment, waiting for the moment your doorbell rings. You don’t know why you’re so nervous. You’ve known Rae for the longest, and you and Brooke are already close friends despite having known each other for only a few months.

You’re happy and excited that you’re finally able to spend time with them, but you’re so used to just spending time with yourself. You never really have visitors and you like it that way.

The doorbell snaps you out of your thoughts. You run up to the door, opening it to see Brooke and Rae, suitcases in their hands, huge smiles on their faces.

They pull you into a group hug, and you all squeal like a bunch of teenagers.

“Oh my God, this is going to be one exciting week!” Brooke exclaims, pulling her suitcase into your apartment.

You help them get settled in the guest room. “Comfortable ass bed for what reason?” Rae asks as she plops down on the bed with a sigh.

“Just in case the ghost scares me in my room.” You jokingly shrug. “I come in here, bring my snacks, and lock the door.”

Brooke looks at you, eyes wide. “There’s not actually a ghost in here, is there?”

You nod your head, “I’ve talked to it once or twice. Full on conversations, too.” You smile cheekily at her, earning a slap on the shoulder.

“We should go to Target and get some snacks.” Brooke suggests, Rae springing up from her laying position excitedly.

She pulls your arm, making you sit in between them. “We can get some things to make a fort. Fairy lights, extra pillows, furry blankets!”

You giggle at how excited she is, of course you’re going to have to make a fort. “That sounds fun, but I’m not going to Target.”

“What? Why not?” Brooke asks.

“I will throw 30 tantrums and have 50 breakdowns if you make me go.”

“Okay, then,” Rae drawls, getting up from the bed, Brooke following. “We’ll call you so we know what snacks to get.” You nod your head, Brooke and Rae giving you a hug before leaving.

You sit on your chair, waiting for Corpse to call. Yes, you wait for him because you don’t want to look like a desperate bitch and call him first.

“Whaddup, baby,” Corpse greets. Same fucking greeting like every other time he’s called you, but you still get butterflies every time you hear it.

“Hi, babe,” You greet back, a smirk playing on your lips. Yeah, it’s not ‘baby,’ but it’s something. The only reason you’d called him ‘baby’ through text was to get him to say yes.

Corpse chuckles, and you can hear him shifting in his seat. “Yeah, well, baby works better.”

“I know. It got you to watch Miraculous with me. I like my men simple.” You shrug, getting Teleparty up. You send Corpse the link.

You hear him sigh and it makes you giggle a bit.

You’re so invested in the show - mostly Adrien - that you don’t hear Corpse calling your name.

“Y/N!” Corpse screams into his mic, making you jump slightly.

“What the fuck do you want?” You laugh, trying to stop your heart from beating so fast.

Corpse chuckles, “This is the man you’re simping for? He’s so ridiculously and utterly stupid.” Corpse speaks with some passion, and you can’t help but giggle.

“I guess I can say I like my men so ridiculously and utterly stupid, too.” You shrug. “I think it’s cute, you know? The fact that Marinette likes Adrien and Cat Noir likes Ladybug.”

“No, it’s stupid.” Corpse scoffs. Cute. He’d obviously been invested into the show - enough that he has an opinion on it. It’s not a normal call with him if you don’t tease him about it.

“You like it!” You tease in a sing-songy voice.

“The show? Uh, I don’t. It’s stupid...” Corpse defends himself, but you hear the faintest of a smile in his voice.

“You do!” You exclaim, wanting to jump out of your chair.

Corpse sighs, “I do because I’m a simp for Ladybug just like Cat Noir is.”

You hang up the Discord call, earning spams of messages from Corpse. You’re not actually mad, but Corpse probably thinks your somewhat upset. You can do that - pretend you’re upset when you really aren’t. That shit works like magic when playing Among Us.

He calls you through Discord again, and you give up on pretending to be mad at him.

“What do you want?” You say, trying your best to hide the smile in your voice.

“The only reason I like Ladybug is because she’s hard to get.”

“Mhm?” You drawl, waiting for him to go on.

“Never mind.” Corpse sighs.

“What the fuck? You can’t just do that. I hate when people do that.”

“Do what?”

You throw your hands in the air, “That ‘never mind’ shit. Like motherfucker, you were just about to tell me...”

“I was about to tell you, but decided against it. I don’t know. I’m a pussy.”

“Yeah, I know.” You laugh.

You both steer away from that, starting up a new conversation.

You don’t think you’ve ever laughed so hard with someone else - not even with Karl or Alex, and that’s saying a lot. Corpse is a genuinely funny guy. Sure, he’s made you giggle and laugh here and there, but when you guys are both slamming fists onto your desks, wiping tear, sniffling, and complaining your guys’ stomachs hurt, it’s different. It’s nice. You want to be able to experience it everyday, all day, never wanting to stop laughing with him. Never wanting to stop talking to him.

Corpse’s POV (this time in first person)

Gosh, never have I ever felt this way for someone before. I’ve only known Y/N for a little less than a month, but our friendship is amazing.

She’s funny, sweet, genuine, caring, loving, and so fucking gorgeous.

I know Y/N’s been through a lot. It’s something we’ve talked about before. I hated the fact that she had went through so much. It made me want to switch places with her. I wanted to be the one experiencing the pain rather than her. I can’t even imagine her hurting, crying herself to sleep, feeling the physical pain through mental pain.

It fucking breaks me, but I’d do anything so that I could’ve been the one being put through that shit - even with the shit I’m going through now.

Hearing her small, even breaths over the phone calms me down. I let myself relax, pulling the phone close to me, wishing it was Y/N who was really here.

She’s consuming my life and I’m not mad about it. For fuck’s sake, I can’t even watch a kid’s show without comparing her to the main character.

But the last thing I want to do is push her away.

I like this girl. Like, like like her.

You turn your camera on, getting comfortable in your chair for today’s stream.

Sweet chats start popping up, and you thank the people who are donating, trying your best to get to everyone.

Not even a minute in, the chat starts going crazy.

User: Corpse!!!

User: omg, corpse!!

User: Corpse giving her money is a mood...

“Corpse, I swear, next time you stream, I’m giving that money back.” You laugh, shaking your head.

Today’s stream is probably going to be the most awkward one. Sure, you and Clay had talked about everything, but it just feels weird to still call him you Minecraft boyfriend. That’s what dwindled your feelings for him a while ago.

Now, you have a fake date with him. In the Dream SMP, you two have called each other “babe,” and “baby,” since it first started. It was an inside joke between you two. Now it’s an inside joke among all of your guys’ supporters.

After finding out that Clay did have feelings for you, you’ve been feeling guilty about not requiting the same feelings, but there isn’t anything you can do.

Feelings are hard.

The date starts, and honestly, all goes well. Subtle flirting, which you take as a joke because it’s all it’s ever been, and the rest of the group making fun of you two when you guys can’t hold in laughter.

It’s a fun time, but you can’t help the empty feeling in your stomach. Like someone or something is missing. All your friends from the Dream SMP are here, you’ve gotten closer with Tubbo and Tommy, there isn’t anything you can be missing.

As soon as the streaming ends, you go and open yours and Corpse’s messages. That’s when it hits you.

It didn’t feel normal without Corpse. You had been streaming with him everyday since the last Animal Crossing stream. It felt weird not streaming with him today.

You text him, letting him know that he’s getting his money back.

You laugh, putting your phone down on your nightstand. You send both group chats a goodnight message before heading to bed yourself.

Unfortunately, you have to change out of your hot ass outfit. You do still have your makeup on, and you look fucking gorgeous to say the least.

You throw on some comfy shorts, an oversized hoodie, and you take off your boots, leaving your black, thigh-high socks on.

You bring your knees up to your chest, letting your chin rest on them as you wait for Corpse to call.

You join the call when he starts it, getting your stuff ready for the stream.

“Whaddup, baby,” Corpse greets, and you can hear the cocky smirk in his voice, he knows what that does.

“Corpse, I can find someone else to play with me in the matter of two seconds.”

“You wouldn’t do that to me.”

“I really would,” You smile at him. Yeah, he can see you, but you can’t see him.

“I don’t think you should turn on your camera for today’s stream.” Corpse says.

“Why not?”

“How you look today should be reserved for me.” The cocky smirk hasn’t left. You can hear it so clearly in his voice.

You hide your face deeper between your knees, letting your hair fall in front of your face. Corpse chuckles, knowing the effect he has on you.

You quickly regain your posture, “I don’t look the same I did earlier. I changed my outfit.”

“I don’t know why you posted it on Twitter. That should’ve only been for me to see.”

You put on a cocky smirk of your own, “Newsflash, that could’ve been for someone else, you’re not the only one in the world, baby.”

Corpse feigns a dramatic gasp, and you giggle, shaking your head.

You greet your chat, Corpse greeting them as well.

You two are talking about everything, laughing so hard to the point where both of you are hitting your desks, complaining about how your guys’ stomachs hurt.

“No! You said, “Oh, well, I don’t know. None?” when Charlie asked you how many balls you have.” Tears are streaming down your face from how hard you’re laughing. Thank God for waterproof makeup.

“I was drunk!” Corpse defends himself in between laughs.

“Okay and? So was I! I said that I had three.”

You two sigh, calming down.

It’s been about three hours, and you both got pretty far into making your island. You say bye to the stream, getting out of Animal Crossing and putting away your switch.

“Do you have to go?” Corpse asks.

“We can’t sit here all night.”

“Y/N, we both don’t sleep.”

“I guess you have a point,” You sigh, “Okay, but call me through the phone, I wanna lay down.”

You turn your camera off as you go to wash your face and brush your teeth. Corpse complains about not being able to see you, claiming, ‘You’re beautiful all the time.’ The cold water doesn’t help at all to fix the redness on your face.

You leave your camera off, scared you might fall asleep on the phone. You tell Corpse to keep talking, his voice calming you down. You feel your eyes are getting heavy, and you can’t keep them open anymore.

Corpse’s POV but in third person

He notices her breathing is now even. Corpse smiles to himself, getting himself comfortable in his own bed, pulling the phone under his pillow, letting her company over the phone relax him.

He can’t help but think about the moments and laughs they shared today. This is probably the best stream he’s had in a while. He knows he’ll be spending tomorrow morning and night, looking through clips of them laughing, of her smiling, and whatnot.

She makes him so incredibly happy, and they’ve only met not that long ago. It’s crazy how much she’s affected his life, but in a good way. He’s able to be up in the morning, excited to stream if she’s going to be around, excited to go through his Twitter timeline.

Of course, he’s asked himself the question. He always goes back to the fact that he hasn’t known her long and it can’t be that he has feelings for her. She’s just an amazing and beautiful person; one that makes him so fucking happy.

He matches his breathing with Y/N’s, eventually falling asleep.

You answer Clay’s call, putting it on speaker. Living by yourself has some benefits. 

“Hi, Y/N!” Dream greets, and you can hear the smile in his voice, but he sounds tired. Exhausted really. 

“Hi,” You try your best not to be nervous. You know what you’re going to say, you’re just worried about what the outcome of those words are going to be. 

“I wanted to talk to you about something.” He sighs. You’re pacing around your room, not able to sit still.

“What’s up?”

“I- umm.. I don’t want this to ruin our friendship, and I know you probably don’t requite the same feelings for me, but I like you. Like, like like you.” His voice is shaky and he’s very obviously nervous. So are you, but you’re just hoping that everything will turn out well in the end.

“Clay, I love our friendship. Whether it’s just between you and me, or with the whole group. You’re my absolute best friend, and you know that. I’m going to be one hundred percent honest, I used to have feelings for you, but I always pushed them away because I liked our friendship too much. I really do hope you understand where I’m coming from.” You can’t keep your voice from breaking. You want to breakdown because you’re already thinking about a future without his friendship. This could potentially ruin the whole group, and you couldn’t ever be ready for that. 

You can’t keep yourself from imagining not being friends with Clay. Hell, you can’t keep yourself from imagining not being friends with Karl, Alex, George, and Sapnap because you feel like if the friendship between you and Clay was ruined, your friendship with everybody else would ruin, too. 

“Y/N, don’t worry, I understand. I just- I hope nothing between us ruins.”

“I don’t want anything between us to ruin, and it won’t, believe me when I say that. We’ve been friends for so long, I didn’t doubt for a second of our friendship that we would have feelings for each other at some point.” You say, sighing of relief when you realize that everything might actually be okay. 

“Yeah, I feel like it just happens.” He sighs as well, chuckling a bit afterwards. 

“Feelings are hard.” You clear your throat. “I’m not gonna lie, I couldn’t help but imagine us not ever being friends. That’s why I almost broke down.”

Clay laughs, “I’ve been thinking about it all day, and I can’t say I didn’t cry. I have a question, did George tell you that I like you?” 

“Yeah,” You sigh, he obviously already got caught. 

“Had a feeling. He was being overly nice to me this morning.” 

You and Clay share some laughs, talking about how hard feelings are, and you assure him that your guys’ friendship can’t ever be ruined. 

You’re happy that this talk went better than you expected.

You join the call that Corpse started. You decide not to turn your video on, just not feeling yourself today after how long the stream was.

“Hi,” You greet softly.

“Hey, why’d you wanna call?” Corpse asks.

“Can I not call my enemy and Among Us boyfriend without a reason?”

Corpse chuckles, “No, there has to be a reason you want to call me.”

“Well, there’s really no reason, so suck it the fuck up and talk to me.”

“Funny how I’m your Among Us boyfriend and enemy.”

You giggle, thinking to yourself how ridiculous that is. Who even are you?

“I told you, you’re mine.” Being bold on Twitter and just social media is your thing, but not voice-to-voice. Especially not with someone who gives you butterflies and makes you blush and makes you all smiley when you know you have to stream with them.

“And you’re mine.” Corpse says with finality. You smile to yourself, sinking deeper into your gaming chair, bringing your blanket closer around you.

“Sorry, I didn’t hear that, my earphones fell out of my ear as I was trying to get comfortable.” You say cheekily, hoping he can’t tell you’re lying.

“I said, you’re mine.” You burst into a fit of laughter, Corpse asking you why you’re laughing as you try to contain your giggles.

You wipe your eyes, sniffling, “I heard it the first time. I didn’t think you were gonna fall for it.”

“Wait, you use earphones and not a headset?”

“Oh, Corpse, please don’t bash on my earphones. Alex and Gogy do it enough. I’m a broke bitch, I don’t have the money for a headset. Even if I did, these earphones, I love them with my whole heart.”

Corpse chuckles, one you’ll never get tired of hearing. “Tell me, Y/N, how many times have they fallen out while streaming?”

The sound of your name and his voice together, literal heaven, but you ignore that, answering his question.

“Oh, plenty of times. One time, I was trying to get comfortable in my chair while playing Minecraft and umm... the earphones kept falling out of my ear, getting tangled in my hair, getting pulled out of my PC and then I...” You stay quiet, not wanting to continue. You hide your face in your hands, embarrassed at how angry you had gotten.

“You what?” Corpse can’t hold in his laugh and you haven’t even told him what happened.

“I punched my mouse, making it break to pieces. Fortunately I had an extra one, but still.” Corpse bursts into laughter, and you hide your face in your sweater, giggling.

“You’re too cute,” Corpse sighs. “Hey, how come you won’t show your face?”

“I look like shit. Long ass day.”

“Never that, show me?” You stay quiet, really not liking the way you look today. “Please?”

“Fine,” You turn on your camera, giving Corpse a small smile.

“See, you’re beautiful.” He compliments.

You two talk about anything, laughing until you’re crying and your guys’ stomachs hurt. It’s nice having someone to talk to. It can be anything as deep as the cons of being a social media influencer, or something as light as your guys’ favorite ice cream flavors.
