But the bi experience of not understanding why you want someone's attention.

Why you're so damn jealous when they look elsewhere for company because you want to be the special one.

So this made me go back and re-read what I'd done. And I don't hate it. I can fix it!

Here is a bit that I'm ok with.

First Do No Harm by Auselysium

Dr. Alex, Patient/Solider Henry. RWRB/Purple Hearts crossover.

“Not to be indelicate, but I hope you already are a doctor, considering you operated on me.” Henry’s language doesn’t match his persona. It’s elevated. Elegant. It’s annoying. Alex rolls his eyes. 

“I’m already an MD, smart ass,” Alex rolls his eyes, letting the ineffective insult slip from his lips. “I’m getting a PhD from NYU.” 

“Woah there, overachiever.” Henry snorts. “Save some work for the rest of us,”  

“My family doesn’t do things by halves. And there is no way to say that I have an MD in orthopedic surgery from UT Austin with a specialty in traumatic injuries and started my PhD program two weeks after getting board certified and not sound totally pretentious.”

“Well, you said it, not me.”

Alex lets out a short laugh. Henry’s funny. That’s also annoying. 

“So why bones? Why...” He gestures at his mangled leg. His generally fucked up state. “Why not brain surgery or cardiology? Something genuinely flashy. Since you’re, you know, such a medical wunderkind.”

His words lack any real disdain. Still, Alex gives him an indignant glare. 

“I played lacrosse in college. University,” he quickly amends. “You know what I mean. I saw plenty of blood, complex fractures, even had one of my own.” He pulls the cuff of his sweater up. Henry peers at the suture scars on his wrist from when he fractured it his junior year.  “Helping people? Knowing I have an impact on people’s lives in real meaningful ways? Doing good? What’s right? You can't know how that feels.”

Alex is smiling softly as he drops his arms over the railing on Henry’s bed and leans down. He’s close enough to notice the desert-born freckles that pepper Henry’s otherwise pristine skin. And to see Henry’s nostrils flare His jaw go rigid. 

“No, as a soldier who nearly lost his leg putting his life on the line fighting terrorists and defending freedom for the people of my country and across the world safe. A soldier who sacrifices the comforts of family and home so you have the right to wrack up your classist degrees and flaunt your lifestyle.” He flings his hand Alex’s way with a whince. “No, I couldn’t possibly grasp how helping people or doing the right thing feels.” 

Henry tugs his blankets high over his chest like a petulant child and rolls his body away as best he can in a humph. “Goodnight, Dr. Claremont-Diaz.”

Alex takes a stricken step back.

It’s Wednesday, right? I can finally do this??

I was tagged a couple months ago by the incredible @hgejfmw-hgejhsf but I was writing for another fandom at the time and had nothing to share.

Thanks to The Idea of You trailer dropping and sparking inspo like I knew it would, I have been working on a FirstPrince rival boyband AU.

Here’s a little tease I cleaned up from my rough outline. I’m very excited about this one, and it will probably be the longest thing I’ve ever written.

Then he spotted Henry. Henry Fucking Fox.

He stood at the start of the red carpet, donning a double breasted suit of ivory. It was the simplest look out of all his group members. But with the way he wore it and carried himself, broad shoulders back, arms crossed in front of him as he adjusted a golden cufflink, he looked no less like the world famous, Grammy winning pop star he was.

There was a glint in his eyes, almost of arrogance but also like he had something to prove. And suddenly, Alex remembered that Henry had been outed last year. Some shitty British tabloid published the story that trended for weeks. Alex had actually felt bad for the guy then, because no one deserved that utter invasion of privacy, even in their industry.

But then he reminded himself how much of a snob Henry was, and he went right back to hating him.

It was obvious that it didn’t have any negative impact on the fans’ love and support for Henry and his group. There were just as many screaming people there for him as there were for Alex.

It was the first time in a long time that Alex had seen him at an event. His hair was longer than Alex remembered it ever being. Long enough to tuck behind his ears if it wasn’t so perfectly styled, not one strand out of place. Long enough that it looked like it might be wavy if he kept letting it grow out.

Henry titled his chin up as his members came to stand in a line beside him to pose for pictures. He looked just like his group’s name, he looked royal. He looked like a goddamn prince.

The thought made Alex roll his eyes, betrayed by his own mind.

More like the prince from the Shrek movies, he corrected and snorted, which only made the young owner of the photocard he was signing swoon even more. He scribbled a star beside his name and gave it back to her along with a wink before he was ushered down the carpet to do some interviews.

I’m hoping to be finished with this by the time the TIOY movie premieres or right after. Probably after since I might use a couple of the August Moon boys as Henry’s group members. I’ve already created three original characters for Alex’s group, I don’t want to make anymore! I’m expecting it to be around 30-40k. 🤯
