I don't think it's foolish to have grand expectations for something that has proven itself to be exemplary in the past. Maybe if you believed all of your expectations would come true, but not for believing that greatness would follow greatness, nor for expecting a story to begin as it means to continue. I sincerely hope Klei comes through for us, but if they do not... thank-you for being one of the joys of the fandom, and may all that you have given find its way to you in the form of new joys.

this was so nice of you to say, i'm really sorry I didn't respond. things don't always unfold the way we like to, but i guess I can't begrudge them too much - growth is good, even if it's in an unexpected way.

[Favorite Characters 27/?] Ember Lumen [Elemental, 2023]

Ember came along at just the right time for me. It's magical and beautiful watching her move on screen, but more than just gags about mixing elements, this movie is about growing up, and truly being yourself - and how that often means admitting truths which you weren't able to confront before. It's nice to see a character get to be so ferociously angry, yet still be deserving of kindness and a happy ending. Gives some hope to those of us out there who can't be relentlessly upbeat all the time.

I don't usually draw Wigfrid but I felt compelled to while listening to "jerusalem" by elgar and parry (or the emerson lake and palmer version, if you prefer). All the best singers I've met tend to have this physique, rooted and grounded to the earth, stocky and rock solid, with barrel chests and booming powerful voices. @the-valiant-valkyrie and their interpretations of Wigfrid, and the cross-section of acting, music, religion, and proving oneself worth anything without a role to play, all have me thinking more about a character I've tended to dismiss. I have seen the light, thank you!
