It is Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day

And I have some big feelings, as a part of the diaspora. Remembrance Day is an inappropriate title for a time in which Armenians still face genocidal forces. Just last year, Azerbaijan, armed by Turkey, ethnically cleansed over 280,000 Armenians from Artsakh. The illegal colonizer state of Israel, currently in the midst of their 6+ month-long genocide against the Palestinians, has placed the Armenians who call Jerusalem home under threat and siege.

The Armenian struggle and the Palestinian struggle are deeply linked.

In his rise to power, Hitler is quoted to justify his actions against the Jewish, Roma, Queer, Disabled, and other victims of the Holocaust, to say "Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?"

Echoing these chilling words, Palestinian poet Najwan Darwish wrote:

Who Remembers the Armenians? I remember them and I ride the nightmare bus with them each night and my coffee, this morning I'm drinking it with them You, murderer - Who remembers you?

The trauma sustained during a genocide is not limited to the people experiencing it right now. The echoes of that trauma leak forward into the next generations, passed down through survival, and that is so insidious. My grandmother got to live, but did so believing that her parents did not love her, because the trauma they endured prevented them from expressing it. Abuse and unhealthy attachment were passed down because that starving hunger for love and acceptance was passed down. It is so deeply cruel and unfair that our oppressors get to reach through time and hurt our children's children.

We need to band together and stop the present-day abusers, the genocidal monsters that oppress the people of Palestine, Armenia, Congo, and so many others.

We need to uplift art made by those who survived, and by those who are surviving. Art is always targeted by the oppressor to erase cultural identity, to destroy legacy, and to break spirits. Support Palestinian and Armenian poets, and artists, and writers.

If you are one of the many who never learned about the Armenian Genocide, learn today. Ask yourself why people worked so hard not to educate you on this piece of history.

On Saturday, 5pm EDT I will be showcasing 'Alone on a Journey', a zine with THREE solo journaling and exploration games (and a guide to writing a hack of those games), created by Takuma Okada!

On Sunday, 10am EDT I will be showcasing 'Anamnesis' a 24-page solo journaling RPG about self-discovery, reflection, and identity from designer @goblinmixtape !

Last but not least, on Sunday, 3pm EDT I will be showcasing 'Waffles for Esther' created by Pandion Games. You are a waitress and after one of your regulars disappears, you decide to find her! Hijinx ensue!

No-Tell Motel is now crowdfunding!

In this solo murder mystery RPG, you play the overnight clerk at a sleazy motel. One of your guests killed another, and you'll spend your nights spying on a cast of 15 colorful suspects to uncover their secrets and connections to each other.

Just don't get it wrong, because a false accusation could cost you your life.

To play, all you need is a deck of cards, a six-sided die and a ledger to log your motel's nightly activities. (The game will come with a ledger, but any old notepad will do).

Using a spread not unlike a hand of Solitaire, you'll find out who checks in, who checks out, who gets entangled with who, and who has dark rumors following them - all with an eye toward building enough circumstantial evidence to make an accusation.

As the nights wear on, doubt will creep in. So build the best case you can, because you've only got one shot to get this right.

I've been working on this game for a long time, and I absolutely love the potential this has to be an ongoing drama generator for the built-in cast of characters or any OCs you bring to the mix. Check them in and set them loose, then document what they get up to.

As for extras? Yeah. We've got those. Pick up a keychain from Room 7, site of the murder, and maybe even a "dice tray." Yeah that's it, it's a dice tray.

The campaign runs Feb 23 - March 15, so give it a look and let me know what you think!

It's been awhile since I last Tumbled! In time I've been away I made a physical version of my game The Wicked Forever King Hungers. It's a rules light game (based on Lasers and Feelings mechanics) that features desperate heretics attempting to stop the Forever King from feeding.

The cool thing was that @indiepressrevolution said they'd carry it. I sent them 50 copies and they sold out in 6 days. I was blown away by this. And they asked for 200+ more copies!
