Hello all!

Sorry for the lack of posting. I wanted to quickly provide a brief update on the status of the Beehive fan comic. Firstly, I wanted to give a progress update on where I'm at with the comic.

As of right now, Beehive Chapter 2 is still within the writing phase (I originally wanted to write the whole comic's script before starting but at this rate I might have to settle). I had originally planned to start drawing/uploading again at some point in July but various personal obstacles have gotten in the way (It's work, it's trying to sort out work issues, adult business you know.)

So yeah, don't expect any new Beehive issues this month, once things stabilize my end a bit more then I'll be able to more properly commit time towards getting the comic started again. I expect it will be before the winter but I can't give an exact date yet. I'm really sorry for the delay again, I'm working towards getting this to you when i can.

Regarding posting generally, I'll look to try and provide supplementary material while you wait, such as old concept arts I have lying around / a new cover for the comic. For now, here is a small teaser for the kind of adversary Chloé will face in the second chapter (also I'll probably be moving to digital shading in the future, those markers are expensive.)

When Chapter 2 is ready to start, I'll announce a prominent release date. I want to get a head start before I upload so you guys aren't dry on story when there's uploads but I'll make sure you know what date the comic officially returns.

Thank you again for all your comments and support, it's been tricky to keep up the mojo for the comic so hearing the general interest in the story is always lovely! Hope to see you in the future, regardless of whether Chloé is in the show or not!

Now that things are coming to a close for season 5, what are you hopes for season 6 since a certain director *cough* Thomas *cough* won't be in charge of things this time around.

Good question actually! To be perfectly honest, I haven't seen a single episode of the new season yet (I just haven't felt like it at the moment). I do keep tabs on what's been happening though so I've got the gist of all the crazy things going on, haha!

After what I've heard though, I think a total rebrand would be nice for season 6 going forward! When I was younger, the main action show at the time was Ben 10. After a couple of seasons of that, they eventually rebranded with an older version of the character and pretty much all new stuff exclusively. I think something like that with Miraculous would be cool, as I imagine the target audience when the show first released has grown up a lot since it started.

My only hope is that it brings in new people basically!

Howdy there! Love your comic and the direction you're going with it. It was suggested to me when I was reading Vinger and Honey from Mattcave. I wanted to ask two questions: 1. Would the new Bee Miraculous have a special power like the other miraculouses or would its special power be based around just bringing others into their fold? 2. Would Chloe be able to get that heart to heart with Ladybug as well as everyone else she left behind in Paris?

Heya, thank you for reading! Sorry for the delayed response.

To answer your first question, the new Bee Miraculous doesn't have any special powers outside of being able to spread out it's power via the rings. It let's you fly though, and gives you super strength and all the mumbo jumbo, but it doesn't have it's own venom gimmick or something like that. I thought about giving it something extra or two but I feel it might take away the whole "strength-in-numbers" thing it's going for as opposed to having too much power from just Queen Bee II herself.

If it's any consolation, a fun fact is that the official name for the miraculous is the "Red-Tail Miraculous" since the current suit design is based after a red tail bee! Aside from that though, nothing super exciting.

On the second note, I can't answer without going into spoiler territory, though expect some more familiar faces to pop up later down the line.

When I read your fan comic reminds me to fake leaks from season 6 which is Chloe will get miraculous from American box but she losing again after Sabrina snitching to Ladybug that Chloe was getting Miraculous even her identity wasn’t known by the public.

I’m just curious what kind story that’ll make about Chloe and her parents especially Audrey on the next chapter? Did she still seeking the attention from her mom who don’t care about her and Zoe stop being annoying goody two shoes for once.

Sorry for my complicated question, I just hope Chloe isn’t being an unstable girl who treating like a joke.

The question wasn't complicated at all! Don't worry about it!

Gosh, when I first read about that leak before it was confirmed fake, my heart sank, haha! I remember the version of it I'd seen mentioned London specifically and I thought I'd be on the ZAG hit list for ripping them off!

Regardless of what happens to the Bourgeois sisters in the leak's telling of events, it's worth noting that the comic's big plot beats were planned out before that fake leak came to light. Most of the stuff in Beehive has been pretty much guesswork on what's gonna happen in the future.

Since you menntioned Sabrina snitching, here's a tidbit that might interest you! Originally she was meant to take the roll of Zoé in the comic and be the sidekick! While Zoé was planned to be in the story from the get-go, I was originally not going to bring her in until the tail-end of the first part before making her have a more prominent role from the get-go. Much as I love Sabrina, I don't see her talking to Chloé much after finishing school but that's just my take on events.

Question: are we seeing red beard again? He seems like a fun antagonist to have some variety besides Akumas or miraculous related threats but he also irradiates “one-off” energy, I suspect certain butterfly man will appear eventually but having funny beard men in the mean time and seeing him evolve has a personal foe to the sisters would be fun, of course villains are always in the background or overlook (specially villains which aren’t the main villain or serious characters which means if they aren’t Felix,Lila or Gabriel ) so I’ll put my hopes down and just make this question

Glad Redbead has some fans out there!

In terms of being a regular antagonist, Redbeard is pretty much a one-and-done big baddie, sorry about that! As much as I love that idea, there's already plans in place for who will take the stage in the next part.

However, you may see him and other familiar faces in the cast pop-up in some capacity throughout the story...

Beehive Update

Hello all! Nothing massive, just dropping a quick update letting you know what’s happening with Beehive.

Firstly, a small milestone; the comic has reached 100 followers! *throws confetti* Thank you all so much for reading, I hope you have enjoyed the comic so far!

Secondly (as you may have suspected), the comic is going to go into a brief hiatus of about 2 months. This is mainly to take a break but also to write the next part of the comic (and if possible, the entire thing). Right now, most of the basic beats of the plot have been outlined and it’s just a matter of getting everything down on paper. Since the next parts of this comic are ramping up in pacing, the details will need to be ensured that they’re gonna work. I’m also looking into ways to keep the schedule consistent and improve the workflow, so there’s less gaps in the schedule. This year was a particularly busy one to be making a comic in, and the next year is looking to be more of the same, so any shortcuts to make uploads quicker I’ll take into account.

If you are curious as to how long it’s going to take for Beehive to be completed, it’s looking to be at least a year and a half left of production. The whole comic will encompass 4 parts in total, though not all of them will be the same length as part 1 was. Nevertheless, don’t expect the full conclusion to come soon, and bear in mind there will be other responsibilities/interests I’ll have to take care of so it could end up being a longer duration. Either way, I wanted to provide plenty of notice.

Other than that, thank you guys again for reading so far! If you have any further questions you want to ask, please let me know and I’ll aim to respond as soon as possible.

Hi there, I’ve been following your comic since the beginning and really impressed with your comic so far and this is become my second favorite ml comic after Vinegar & Honey by Matt wilson.

I remember you said this is not Chloe redemption. I wonder what kind treatment that you’re going to give it to her? Either make her stay irredeemable like canon or turning her have a morally grey character who sometimes doing bad and good things.

Thank you for sticking through Beehive, I really appreciate it!! Vinegar & Honey is some quality stuff so deffo keep that as your top pick!

Yeah I did mention that haha! To be honest, the warning is mainly there to temper expectations. I know a lot of people have opinions about what Chloé should be or where she should end up, and I don't want people to be let down if the direction Beehive goes doesn't match what people expect.

As for Chloés treatment, obviously I cannot say much. I do have the idea for where she's gonna be by the end of the comic (which is still a years out to be perfectly honest with you, I'm sorry!!), but the only hint I can give is to not expect something so clear cut. Gonna be a lot of drama on the way there though 👀.

Have you read the new spoilers for Season 6? In them, Chloe literally bumps into Zoe’s biological dad, Lee, in the elevator. They end up getting trapped with each other for almost 48 hours in the damaged elevator because calling the professionals to get them out isn’t so easy for her parents because they lead “busy” lives. Chloe blames Zoe for the lack of love given to her(Chloe) by her parents and schemes to get rid of her. Lee feels like it’s hopeless to try to gain custody over Zoe, but Chloe encourages him to keep trying and even teams up with him against her parents so that he might win in court. She does this because she thinks if Lee takes Zoe away, then her parents might shower her with more love. Eventually, Andre and Audrey lose custody of both Chloe and Zoe to Mr. Lee. Andre doesn’t take it well when he loses Zoe and it becomes his villain origin story. When Ladybug and Cat Noir defeat Lila(the 2nd Hawkmoth), Andre finds the Butterfly Miraculous before they do, and he uses it to become the supervillain DICK-TATOR. He intends to use the miraculous to ensure that he gets to keep Zoe forever.

I think the name "Dick-tator" brings into question the legitimacy of this but I love legally blonde so I choose to believe you 100%

What would you think if an evilized villain(maybe a wishmaker-like villain or maybe even a villain that's unrelated to the butterfly miraculous) caused Chloe and Zoe to switch bodies somehow, and nobody fully understands what's going on, so Zoe(in Chloe's body) is taken by Audrey back to New York, despite Zoe desperately trying to explain things. But Chloe enters a fugue state(heavily due to trauma caused by the neglect of her parents) and genuinely thinks she's Zoe, and is even able to recall many of the things Zoe did due to being in Zoe's body. The class thinks "Zoe's" change in behavior is due to the psychological effects of method acting, since "Zoe" is playing Chloe in Astruc's new movie, but they gradually convince "Zoe" to let them help her relearn how to be "herself" again. Meanwhile, in New York, Zoe is trying to get back to Paris, but when she gets there, “Zoe” thinks she’s there to try to hurt Marinette.

Sorry for the delay getting to this ask (I wanted to make sure there wasn't a show leak or anything).

I think this could be a pretty cool idea! Definitely could be a fun one to do some character stuff with! I know Zoé has quite the friend group that Chloé lacks so I wonder how that dynamic would change her once she gets back in her own body after hijinx ensue!

I'm more curious about the Astruc movie though, is it a "Chloé" movie? Would it be like 2019's "Joker" where it's a villain origin story (don't watch it if you're on the younger side, just so you know). I'm surprised Zoé would take on the role myself as I imagine it wouldn't portray Chloé nicely, seeing as Zoé tends to support Chloé despite her reputation... I hope you give this a go in writing, would love to see what you come up with!
