"Okay Bill! It's your turn!" The girls snickered at him, giggling behind their hands. They didn't need to say a word to know why they were laughing. It was Bill Kaulitz, the gayest boy in the world by their standards. The person who had to kiss him would be ridiculed for days.
He blushed heavily but shrugged as if he didn't give a shit that he was about to give his first kiss away to some random person in some girl named Gina's basement despite the 10 point worthy swan dives his stomach was executing.
"Fine." He reached for the bottle trying to disguise his shaking hands by spinning the bottle quickly and resting his fist under his chin, watching it spin with a blank face. Panic began to rise making his heart beat so hard he felt as if it was going to leap out of his mouth as the glass Coca Cola bottle slowed to a stop.
Bill looked up at the person it had landed on and blushed deeply. Holy Hell.
Anis Mouhammed Yousef Ferchichi. His crush since fifth grade. He was so cool, and very popular, Captain of the soccer team, a high school senior and the only boy in school that could grow and keep even chin stubble. It made him look so much more manly and strong and...Ugh. Anis was the only reason he'd come to this stupid party in the first place. Holy Hell. "I...uhm..."
Anis quirked an eyebrow and shifted in his seat. "Well...this is interesting."
The girls of the group burst into a fit of giggles, while the boys all shoved at Anis's shoulders. "Oooooooooh!" they all cooed, urging the two on.
"Well? What are you waiting for?" Bill's best friend, Amanda, said, trying to hide her laughter as best she could. She knew how much Bill liked Anis and was genuinely happy for him. She shoved Bill forward until he had no choice but to fall forward onto his knees.
Anis swallowed a little and leaned forward too, urged on by a couple of his teammates. "This does not leave this room. Got it?" he said, dead serious.
"Yes, fine! Just do it you chicken!"
Bill ignored the pang of insecurity again. Oh, right. He wasn't "one of them". The unpopular one. The freak. It was a miracle he'd even been allowed inside of the house.
"Ugh. Christ." Anis groaned, leaning forward the last bit to close the gap between them.
Bill squeaked when their lips pressed together for half a second. Their friends all cheered as Bill's insides fluttered. He looked down to stop himself from seeing Anis wipe his mouth and groan.
"Why do you wear that lip shit? It's gross." Anis complained, rubbing the gloss off.
Bill just reddened even further and rubbed at his lips self-consciously, wiping it off. "Dunno..."
"Well it's gross. It's not even flavored." Anis grimaced again.
"Aww Anis, you know you liked it." Kenneth, Anis' best friend, winked at him.
"No. I fucking didn't."
"Liar! Liar!" They chanted.
The more Anis protested angrily, the more Bill began to die inside. He tried his best but he couldn't hold it in. Possibly making even a bigger fool of himself, Bill stood up, rushing to the bathroom, cupping his hand over his mouth so he wouldn't sob out loud in front of them.
"Awww! Way to go Ferchichi. You made the freak cry." One of the boys rolled his eyes. "Wierdo. What the hell is he doing here anyway? Whatever, it's my turn!"
Anis watched Bill rush out, guilt weighing down his stomach. Shit. he hadn't meant to make him cry...

The next day at school not a word about the kiss was said. At least not aloud in front of either Bill or Anis. By lunch time the whole school knew about it. Bill still hadn't stopped bursting into tears.
At lunch he locked himself in the boys room, curling up on the back of the toilet, hugging his knees and replaying the night over and over again in his head. The kiss, Anis getting mad, leaving the party absolutely mortified and calling his dad to come pick him up. Bill sighed and sniffed back some tears. He should honestly be used to it by then. But it was his first kiss and it had been horrible.
The door to the bathroom opened with a soft creak. Bill looked down to see a familiar pair of classic black Chuck Taylors with red shoelaces. Anis.
"Hello? Someone in here?" he said, peeking through the doors. "Bill?"
Bill's breath hitched at his name being called. But he kept quiet and prayed he would go away. He had no such luck. He saw Anis peek through the crack in his stall and curled in on himself even more, turning away from the older boy. "Leave me alone." he mumbled, burying his face into the crook of his elbow.
Anis frowned, but didn't give up. With a quiet groan to himself, he got down and crawled under the door of the stall, wincing at the gritty layer of dirt and grime on the floor. "Fucking nasty." he grunted, wiping his hands on his jeans.
Bill just shuddered with the effort to hold back another sob and turned away from him. "What do you want? Come to tell me how disgusting I am? I think you've made your point."
Anis sighed and leaned against the wall next to Bill, crossing his arms. "No... I came to say sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel bad or whatever. I just...I really hate lip gloss. My ex wore that shit all the time. It's like glue."
"Well...you could have at least defended me when they called me a freak. Not saying anything hurts just as much as saying it." Bill was turned away from him, still sniffling back his tears.
Anis bit his lip and scratched at his neck. "I know, I know. And I wanted to. I just... I didn't want them to turn on me you know? I guess... I was just scared that they would hate me too."
Bill laughed dryly. "Poor you." he snapped. "Poor captain of the soccer team with a billion friends. Wouldn't want you to feel every day of my life for ten minutes now would we?"
"Hey, you don't even know me okay? Don't assume-"
Bill stood up, wiping his tears. He moved towards the stall door, tired of hearing Anis's half-assed apology. "Whatever. I'm-"
"Yo! Wait!" Anis said, grabbing Bill's arm gently. "Please? Just hear me out."
Bill turned to glare at him, ripping his arm from his grasp. "That was my first kiss you know. You ruined it."
Anis pursed his lips, thinking for a moment and grabbed Bill's arm again, pulling him closer until their chests were pressed together. He looked into his eyes and smiled before pressing their lips together in a firm, gentle kiss.
Bill gasped, but let his eyes slide shut, holding onto Anis's shirt for support as his head began to spin. Strong arms wrapped around his waist and he was pulled even closer to the other boy. Anis pulled away just as Bill was falling deeper into his kiss. Bill sighed and looked up, blushing hard.
"Wh-what was that for?" he asked, still breathless.
"That didn't really count as a first kiss did it? I'm just making up for it."
Bill bit his lip and tried to hide his smile. "Oh...I...thank you."
Anis smiled sheepishly and shrugged. "So uh...would you maybe want to cut the rest of the day and go see a movie with me or somethin'?"
Bill's eyes widened and he tried to remember how to say the word "Yes". He managed to get it out and walked with Anis out of the building and to his car without being caught by the Hall Monitors.
Their movie date would be the first of many. Eventually Anis would come out of his Narnia sized closet and hold hands with Bill down the hallway of their school. They would stay together for the rest of their lives, from high school sweethearts to old lovers. All because of a botched first kiss and a stupid game of spin the bottle.
