Hello my beautiful friends - Spring is finally here, which in New York City means several things: Locals crawl out from within their tiny apartments and start exploring and smiling again; we all start walking places again, Spring sees the annual rebirth of nature in the city, and we see the gray concrete jungle transform into cherry blossoms. Restaurants and cafes spill out onto the streets, shops open their windows and rooftops dust off their fairy lights. Mr. Softee trucks glide through town and the city just somehow seems more welcoming, brighter and energetic. My beautiful scrubs are by @jaanuubydrneela - my favorite scrub brand that I am so honored to be partnering with today. These scrubs fit my frame beautifully, and flatter every curve of my body. The soft, antimicrobial and wrinkle free fabric is so comfortable, stylish and wears perfectly throughout the day. Of course, the bright, unique color speaks for itself.. The Aqua Sky collection inspires healthcare professionals to defy all the limits, and push further in the color that can take you sky high. @jaanuubydrneela, you’ve outdone yourself again!! Thanks for these amazing scrubs!! #jaanuuscrubs #jaanuucrew . . If there’s one thing that shouldn’t be on the internet, it’s DIY dental hacks from random, cringy tiktokers that aren’t licensed dental providers. They all overpromise, underdeliver, and usually wind up putting your oral health at MAJOR RISK. 1. First tragic hack I hate to see kids doing is SHAVING THEIR TEETH WITH NAIL FILES. Physically grinding down the teeth and reshaping them. Your tooth enamel cannot repair itself. Once it’s shaved down, it’s gone for good.. and these tiktokers are left with these little pegs like what you would have if you’re about to get dental veneers or a dental crown. This is also crazy dangerous because you are wearing down the protective layer that covers the nerve inside of your tooth. So, what you’re left with is a hypersensitive tooth and maybe even a trip to the dentist for a root canal. 2. Supergluing fangs with nail glue. Trying to pull the fangs out could crack, shatter or actually pull out the tooth completely. Its also poisonous and toxic. If you're using acrylic nails as your fangs, use a denture glue. It's going to be safe and easy to take off. You can also use ortho wax. This is not gonna stay on the whole time but it's safe and good for pictures. 3. The “overseas veneer trend.” A wave of young TikTok users are going abroad to get full sets of what they think are "veneers" to achieve the hollywood smile. the shaved-down teeth that resemble pegs are not veneer preparations; they are crown preps and there's a big difference. While veneers are less invasive and only require half a millimeter or less of enamel to be shaved down, crowns require two millimeters or more of enamel to be shaved off, which is why the teeth resemble pegs. These influencers will likely have to get dentures by the time they're 40 and spend thousands to replace their crowns throughout their lifetime. Once your teeth are down to stumps, there's no going back — don’t do it. 4. The rubber band braces to straighten out teeth. Band users may actually find themselves with no teeth further down the road after damaging the root. Dentists dont move teeth that quickly because quick movement can put too much force on the root and cause it to resorb & short https://www.instagram.com/reel/CUVk8wDl4l7/?utm_medium=tumblr

Helloo my beautiful friends! Too often, people mistake progress for perfection. They spend more time staring at the weeds than they do assessing the forest. They get lost in the details instead of asking whether their work is moving them in the right direction. I have spoken before about how consuming and nerve-wracking dental school can be if you let it become that way by pressuring yourself to perform to perfect standards. Perfection does not exist in dentistry, so chasing perfection is like chasing a shadow — impossible. Voltaire, the French writer, said, “The best is the enemy of the good.” Confucius said, “Better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without.” So how do you get more done, faster, while still remaining effective and responsible, and ensuring the quality of your work? Focus on the process, not the final product. When you put too much emphasis on the end result, you fall into the trap of idolizing the final product. You begin to imagine it as this perfect end, which can often lead to disappointment and self-doubt. Instead, train yourself to place more focus on the day-to-day habits and processes that allow your work to unfold. In addition, when you focus on the process instead of the final product, you allow yourself plenty of room to adjust and learn as you go. Expecting to have the final result perfectly in mind from the get-go is a mistake. To the person reading this who needs a motivational push: Just keep going! You’re getting closer every single day to achieving your DREAM! If your past self could see you now, imagine how PROUD you would be of the person you have BECOME. You worked so hard for this, competed against all odds, and made so many sacrifices to get to the point where you are right now. Embrace the process! YOU ARE GETTING THERE! Great things take time to unfold. Trust. Your. PROCESS! And SMILE! Although you might not really feel it right now, or on some of the rough days… The world is smiling right back at you. 🦷💙 (at Financial District, NYC) https://www.instagram.com/p/CULoJ9SFwJ0/?utm_medium=tumblr

From Amsterdam, with love. ❤️ Hello my beautiful friends! Tonight, I’m not sharing anything dental related.. and that will be the case for the next couple of weeks as my hubby and I embark on our European adventure. This has truly been a dream of mine for many years.. My husband and I imagined visiting Europe together since the early days of our love. I made my hubby promise that one day we would see and walk the streets of these beautiful countries together. Now, we are. Amsterdam is truly the most romantic, colorful, and unique city, meant for long walks along the calm waters of the canals, bustling local culture and the embodiment of freedom. Tilted buildings rising out of the water, tasty hole in the wall cafes in narrow alleys, and canals that find you at every turn. Its a fairytale. As many of you have been following, I have been posting lots of stories from our trip. We love and appreciate the abundance of warm comments, advice and compliments we have gotten in response to our stories! (𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘤𝘬 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘯’𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺) My husband and I didn’t think we’d even get the chance to visit Europe during these times. We planned, and every step of the way there was a hurdle.. and everyone doubted whether it would even be possible. Everything was up in the air. Work. School. Families. Safety. So many factors were involved that we would never have had to consider had it been normal times. But we took a leap of faith, stepped out of our comfort zones, and went for the plunge. Its been nothing short of the perfect and we feel SO lucky to have had such a special experience here in Amsterdam. Can you take a guess where in the world we are off to next? 🌍 (at Amsterdam, Netherlands) https://www.instagram.com/p/CSk92fgIxZg/?utm_medium=tumblr

Hello my beautiful friends! I’m going to keep this post real. Just this once, I’m going to let my guard down, glamour aside. Romance aside. Dental school is not for the faint of heart, and its honestly freaking hard. My goal is to keep my page as positive, encouraging and optomistic as I can for the excited and hopeful future predents who will supercede me.. but social media can be a misleading world, and that adds all-the-more pressure on the average student to achieve perfection. So many students only post pictures of their “happy” points, their best work, and accomplishments, so nobody really knows how much effort and practice it took to get to that point. That perfect prep you saw your classmate do? You didn’t see them working late at night in their makeshift at-home set-up to perfect that prep. You also didn’t see thousands of pages of notes, handwritten flashcards, sleep deprivation and sacrificed time that went into studying for each exam. Weekly. The breakdowns, the 12 hour clinic shifts, and the occasionally difficult patients and cases that make you question everything. You really don’t see even a fraction of the truth. There are rough days.. sometimes weeks.. and then you get a good day which is the push you need to keep your passion afloat. Yes, I’ve laid awake at night thinking about whether I should continue with this path. Yes, I’ve lost sleep over the cost of tuition. Yes, I get super anxious when one little thing doesn’t go my way. With the utterly toxic mentality that If I fail even once, I’ll lose it all. And then I sit down with a pen and paper, and start to write all the reasons why this pursuit is worth it, and thats what I publish on my page, for the public eye. Its equally inspiring for you as it is for myself. It distracts me from the challenges, and keeps me going. But you don’t see whats happening behind the scenes, because sometimes its faaaar from flattering. I hope that someone out there reads this post today and feels like they’re not alone in these sentiments… My dental school journey isn’t perfect, I’m long past the point of pretending that it is.. I’ve just been taking it day by day.. and thats been enough! (at NYU College of Dentistry) https://www.instagram.com/p/CSFpEXKn_GZ/?utm_medium=tumblr

How to Study EFFICIENTLY In Graduate or Professional School Hello my beautiful friends! Enterring the world of studies in dental school (or any graduate program) is a challenging feat. The sheer amount of different classes, and load of coursework is overwhelming.. and there really aren’t enough hours in the day to sit down and memorize every single fact you need to know to be proficient in every subject. So.. here are the study and note taking tips I have learned to manage my studies efficiently. I can’t gaurantee that this method will earn you the highest mark, but it has definitely gotten me through even the toughest classes in dental school so far.. so I think its safe to say that my study techniques work for my lifestyle.. but I think results are a function of the amount of time and effort you put in yourself.. (which I admit sometimes I could improve on….a lot🤦🏻‍♀️). I’m definitely not saying you have to use all of the above study strategies at once (oh my), but I hope that integrating even just one of them into your study routine (or even using just one, it’s all about studying less but studying well) helps you out! Do YOU have any study tips? Comment below what’s been most helpful for you!👇🏽 (at Cha Cha Matcha) https://www.instagram.com/p/CR7cl8Yn3-c/?utm_medium=tumblr

Hello my beautiful friends! Have you ever looked in the mirror and felt bad about the color of your teeth because they might be yellower than you’d like? Many of us have gone through the same thing. Because the yellowing of teeth happens gradually, it can be easy to become complacent! When it comes to the color of your teeth, there are ways that you can protect the whiteness, and this starts with a good oral hygiene routine! If you brush your teeth too hard, this can cause your enamel to wear away and thin out. Wearing away enamel exposes the Dentin layer underneath, which is naturally yellow. So make sure that you are brushing twice a day, but not brushing too hard! Another very important steps to take to prevent yellowing and staining is keeping a clean diet. Sauces, dark curry, black coffee and tea, wine, and tobacco are very pigmented and leave behind stains on your teeth if you don’t rinse, or brush! Not to say that you should never eat these foods, but try to limit the intake and try to make a habit out of rinsing your mouth with water or a non-fluoride rinse after! You could also chew xylitol sugar-free gum which will help stimulate saliva (which will help to curb staining as well!) While having yellow teeth can make you shy away from smiling in public, it is possible to prevent or treat this issue with a little effort on your part! Also, if it’s a serious concern to you, consider discussing it with your dentist as they can provide you with some treatment options to get you back on track! Stay toothy! 🦷❤️ https://www.instagram.com/reel/CR6ti0-DToa/?utm_medium=tumblr

A little reminder for you... 💙 This path requires hard work, sacrifice and time. It tests your discipline, patience and resilience.. and the journey is not an easy one, by any means. And no matter how tough it feels in this exact moment — try to keep your eyes on the end goal. YOU want to be a doctor. I know you do, because you’re sitting here reading this post, you’re watching my stories, asking me questions about which prerequisites you should be taking, and which books to use for the DAT/boards. You are worried about your classes, stressed over every single exam, concerned with whether you are doing enough..because YOU WANT to be a dentist. And I promise you, this desire is enough fuel to light a fire in your heart that nobody can extinguish. let your desire to help people in a meaningful way consume you. Let yourself smile when you imagine yourself in a white coat, with a patient sitting on the chair beside you. Visualize your highest self and become her or him. You CAN do it, and I’m praying that the universe continues to guide you all on the path to a successful and fulfilled future. ❤️ Xx, Paulina 🥰 . . . #dentistry #dentist #dental #smile #dentista #teeth #tooth #oralhealth #bossbabe #doctor #dentists #girlboss #medicine #medicalschool #medstudent #doctor #medschool #premed #medical #womensupportingwomen #healthcare #womeninmedicine #predentalstudent #futuredoctor #womeninbusiness #health #scrubs #md #dds #scrublife #predental https://www.instagram.com/p/CRzHv7Qjx9g/?utm_medium=tumblr

Hello my beautiful friends! Since nobody formally whitecoated me, I decided to white coat myself. 🤷🏻‍♀️🦷🥼 Under normal circumstances, at the end of D2, dental students would be awarded a white coat at Lincoln Center, with a large crowd of family and friends cheering us on as we made the transition from studying the anatomy and physiology of the human body and oral cavity to becoming clinicians who treat real patients. It’s a simple garment—a white coat, with wide lapels and a pocket on the chest. To students studying dentistry or medicine, however, it signifies much more. It signifies a milestone, a change in roles, and a promise to uphold their profession. Everyone finds their own meaning in the white coat. 𝗠𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗜𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀. 𝗠𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲’𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘆𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀, 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. The dental students of my class were robbed of the opportunity to experience this highly symbolic ceremony because of the worldwide pandemic, but it doesn’t mean that we aren’t, in fact, “white coated.” After all, the white coat is a simple article of clothing—its the meaning behind it that makes all the difference. 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝟖 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐅𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 1. Respect - Dentists are generally trusted and respected in their communities, not only by patients whom they treat, but also society, friends and family members. 2. Variety - A day in the life of a dentist is always challenging and interesting. No two days are ever the same for a dentist. When you think you’ve learned and seen it all, you encounter new case scenarios. Its a challenge and adventure. 3. Its Never a dull moment! If you have the right attitude, then dentistry can never be boring for you. In fact you will enjoy dealing with different types of clinical cases, and different types of patients. You will also get immense satisfaction from using your clinical knowledge to the benefit of people to meaningfully improve their lives! 4. Autonomy — you get to be your own boss! Make your own decisions, set your own hours. You are completely independent to decide and plan, however autonomy comes with a price. It makes you responsible for everything about your financial decisions and managing your professional dental set up, so in essence with autonomy, comes risk and immense responcibility. 5. You get to form meaningful relationships with PEOPLE! It’s a very caring profession, and relationships are such an important part of it. You get to mingle and interact with people from all walks of life, from different communities and social statuses. 6. Demand. People ALWAYS need dental services, so having a degree in dentistry gives you a sense of stability for life! Of course it seems there is a lot of competition out there now, but if you find your niche, the patient will come for treatment to your clinic! 7. Creativity. People may not realize that there is a lot of creativity to being a dentist. On some levels it’s very pragmatic and scientific, but the actual work is like carving or sculpting. It is an art. You also have many opportunities to use your creativity for problem-solving. 8. Dentistry involves healing people. That has something magical about it, it brings a lot of peace to mind. Hello my beautiful friends! Meet my manikin patient: Angelique. Angelique is a healthy 24 year old, 5’1, 120 pound young woman from the Bronx. She has no history of medical conditions, good vitals, has had a few fillings in the past, and good periodontal health. She is generally tenacious, outspoken, and stylish. She presents to the clinic with a chief complaint that her biggest insecurity is her smile because she has a gap between her two front teeth. She essentially wants to close the gap (diastema), and I am on a mission to make her dream come true today. There are a few ways that you can have those spaces closed. Composite bonding and porcelain veneers are the most common ways to have the gap in your teeth closed. There are pros and cons to each method, so Angelique and I discussed her options to come up with the optimal solution for her. For a quick and easy option, composite bonding is the best bet. This simple method of closing small gaps uses a composite resin that matches the color of your teeth. This is bonded to your teeth to change their shape. There are a wide range of tooth colors available so you don’t have to worry about the composite bonding standing out. After treatment, you won’t be able to tell that you are missing a tooth. This is a quicker treatment than most, but the material used stains easily and wears more quickly than porcelain or natural teeth. While this method is secure, the bonding lasts an average of 3-7 years. For something to last a little longer, she could consider porcelain veneers. These typically last between 4-12 years. They are just as secure as composite bonding but are much stronger and more durable. Of course, they can crack and chip, but they can be easily replaced. Porcelain veneers are thin shells that are placed on the front of your teeth. These can easily transform your smile by covering chips, stains, and misaligned teeth. These can also be matched to the color of your existing teeth. Angelique decides that ultimately, for her budget and her wanting an instant fix, composite bonding will be best for her, so we proceed with her treatment! Do you guys like Angelique’s new smile? EVERYTHING You Need to Know to Get Into DENTAL SCHOOL 🦷👩🏻‍⚕️ 𝓼𝔀𝓲𝓹𝓮 𝓽𝓸 𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓭 𝓲𝓽 𝓪𝓵𝓵! Hello my beautiful friends! Finally—I have created the ultimate guide to getting into dental school. This will take you through all the requirements, including which courses you will need to take during college, which major to choose, how many credits you need... and then the process itself of applying via the aadsas application. From reading this guide, you will have an idea of exactly what the process is like to getting into dental school, and you will realize that everything you do in college sets the stage for what will take place in the future. Be mindful of this! According to the ADEA 2017-18 Survey of Dental Education Report, 5.1% of students who submit applications ultimately enroll in a program. With the right roadmap, tools, and habits, though, anyone can be a part of that 5.1%. This post serves as a guide to getting into dental school. More importantly, though, I want to encourage you that despite maybe not having a 4.0 GPA and 30 on each section of the DAT, you have all the potential to become a dentist! I sincerely hope you enjoy this and walk away learning something new about the predental journey! With the hard work and dedication you’re already putting in, you don’t need to ask can I get into dental school? Keep up the good work, and your answer is: yes. Hello my beautiful friends! So you think you want to be a dentist, right? Theres only one way to truly find out.. Shadowing. Students often decide they want to become dentists at different points in their lives—some know as early as middle school, while others don’t decide until their third year of college. Whenever you made your choice, you have to be sure to prepare yourself to pursue this profession and shadowing a dentist is a crucial part of that process. It’s also a required part of the process because dental school admissions want their students to be 100% committed to the profession. Shadowing in the dental office means coming into an office and watching the doctor work.. you can also be an intern, assistant or a receptionist at an office. Essentially, the purpose is to learn how a dental practice operates, and what a dentist’s routine looks like. This post is your ultimate one stop shop for everything related to dental Shadowing. Hello my beautiful friends! The biggest lesson I’ve learned thus far in dental school was to find satisfaction in & celebrate the little victories. I mean those times, where you supercede your own expectations and perform well on one prep, master a new skill, etc. For a million wrongs, there might be one right. And that one right thing motivates you to keep pushing through. During my (first) Preclinical Radiology session, we were allotted one four hour period to learn and master taking xrays. I was the lucky ducky 🦆 who ended up with all the random technical issues outside of my control. I’d waited half my session for those issues to resolve, and by the time I started in my cubicle, I was feeling so behind, anxious and overwhelmed before even starting the xrays. I jumped right into the FMX and while I knew what I was doing in the beginning, slowly I started to get lost and confused with all the pieces.. Retake after retake, I COULD NOT THINK STRAIGHT. In the end, class was almost over and I still had an entire second series to do, and a competency. I just couldn’t keep going. I was seeing stars, all the other TA’s saw me struggling and burning out. I felt incapable. I came to my professor and told her there was no way I was going to finish.. She strongly encouraged me to stay, and warned me that if I don’t do it today-the next available session will only be in six months. I didn’t care at the moment. I was adamant. My husband wanted to suprise me by driving into the city to pick me up from school, and when I should’ve been so happy and appreciative of that, I just broke down crying the second I stepped into the car. Just balling out. My professor told me that in her many years of teaching, a student NEVER walked out of the lab the way I did, for the reason that I did. Fast forward, I emailed my professor and arranged to come today bright and early to make up my unfinished work and competency. I took my practice set successfully with few retakes. And then I took my competency, I passed with flying colors. On that day, I felt like I won. Like I ceased the day and accomplished a feat. Like I conquered what felt impossible before. Today I’m 23. 🧁✨ I officially feel “old”er. On most birthdays I usually don’t feel a difference, but this year is different. I do feel the change of turning another year older. Maybe it’s the fact that I am getting close to being in my “mid-twenties” instead of my “early-twenties.” Maybe it’s the fact that I prefer even numbers over odd ones, and 23 is an odd number. Well whatever the reason is, I don’t mind it. I appreciate the fact that I am older because well, I have grown so much in my 20’s! So in light of my birthday, I wanted to write a post of 23 facts about me. 1. I have played piano since I was 5 years old. 2. I take three spoons of sugar in a cup of tea. 3. I always drink tea and eat a fruit before an exam. 4. I have very good vision 5. I’m not the best driver, and I drive pretty slow. 6. I’m always one of the first to finish in the lab 7. I have trouble reading books because I am a slow reader, and don’t process information easily. 8. I write backwards with the same ease and neatness as writing forwards. 9. I speak 4 languages (guess which)! 10. I have really bad seasonal allergies 11. I absolutely love soups. Any type of soup (or khoresht) 12. I am a taurus, and I do act like one. 13. I live for organizing stuff. 14. I have an unhealthy obsession with Marshalls and homegoods for home decor. 15. I have a paralyzing fear of needles, blood and veins. But for some reason, not when its located in the mouth. 16. My hair is naturally brown, but being blonde was the staple of my teenage years and I kaifed (enjoyed) every second of it. 17. I always order a sprite when I’m out because its my happy juice 18. My go-to comfort-binge TV show is Grey’s anatomy 19. I hated cheese until I met my pizza chef husband 20. A bird always poops on my car on my birthday and I believe its good luck! 21. I don’t appreciate sarcasm because I don’t understand it 22. When I’m annoyed by my husband, I can’t look him in the face because otherwise I’ll die laughing. (And I always do..) 23. My name is PAULINA https://www.instagram.com/p/COdx3eiDqjB/?igshid=qwxzkt2gdqdm

zero to hero: HELP I CAN’T/DON’T WANNA START STUDYING Hello my beautiful friends, we have all been there. You’ve got exams coming up next week, and you still haven’t even opened your book. Or maybe, you have opened up the book but you’ve just been blankly staring at it for hours. Or worse… maybe you spent a few hours “organizing: all those powerpoint presentations and then when it came time to study..you drifted off to your phone for a couple of more hours..seemlessly texting, browsing through your instagram feed.. maybe you’re doing that right now! (Isee you!) We all have days where we don’t feel like studying, or just can’t properly zone in. Sometimes that feeling can last a whole week.. But the most successful students are those that don’t wait until they feel great to study. There are some hacks that I’ve learned over the years that have helped me push onwards and forced me to zone in. My first tip is completely psychological. Keep your eye on the prize..you’re studying so that you can stay in the field that you are passionate about. Find the motivation by reminding yourself what you’re working towards. Imagine yourself learning in your ideal environment, doing your dream job. Whatever makes you excited about learning- take the fuel from those day dreams and use it to fan the flames for your love of learning. And now for a more practical approach… (swipe right to read my TIPS!!) the trick is to reduce the total amount of time you spend procrastinating, or thinking about doing it; doesn’t matter how you start, so long as you do start. Trust me, you’ll be better off starting at 20% of productivity (then slowly walk your way up) than not starting at all. Your future self will thank you for that. * now i know this is not our ideal goal, but sometimes it’s better to face that exam having learnt a 50% of the subject instead of just a 2% because you thought it was too late to make a difference, or decided that you were done trying to find ways to make your studying more enjoyable/fun, because you felt that by doing that, you weren’t being productive enough. (And i’ve seen that happen a LOT.) (at NYU College of Dentistry) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKSXA3aDSAL/?igshid=2xsd19dwqwcn
