he’s a powerful super hero who half the world looks up to for guarding and guidance.

this man has a son/protégé who he specifically made to be his successor.

he purposefully arranges it so the boy inherits his powers.

he trains him hard to take his place, and through action and words makes it clear that this is how the boy can earn his recognition.

but it turns out that the powers don’t work the same for the protégé as the man. they end up hurting, even disfiguring the boy every time he uses them.

what starts out as the boy trying to prove himself…

turns into the boy spiralling into physical and psychological self-destruction.

the man tries to keep the protégé from continuing down this path

but he has lit these feelings inside his protégé a long time ago.

and it’s too late to the say the words the boy needed to hear all this time ago.

now the question is, can someone help the boy snap out of this self-destructive death spiral?

I want to make a few things clear.

See this guy right here? He is absolutely the one that told Inko Izuku was quirkless.

He just came out to LOV as AFO's loyal right hand man. So his words about Izuku is untrustworthy. I believe he lied to protect AFO's family.

Gigantomachia isn't a bodyguard, he's just a giant cat. My kitten gives me the same reaction whenever I return to my room.

AFO is, without a doubt, Hisashi Midoriya.

His physical similarities with Izuku, his absence in Midoriya family, the way he treats Izuku and the doctor being one of his loyal henchmen... Everything makes sense.

Here is my guess of what happened:

AFO left Midoriya family to keep them safe from his enemies. He went around and gathered allies to break society. Then he thought he needed some molds to shape them into destructive villains as his backups, so he took Tenko and Machia. He intended to return home after a while, but then All Might turned his face into a potato and he lost his means of going back to his family. That's why he hated All Might so much, but since Izuku is his son, he doesn't hate him. He is his blood, his family, and his future after all.
